BubblemanHey everybody, welcome to Hash Church episode 36. Can you believe it? Episode 36. Unbelievable that we've had this many Hash Churches. It's been really great. I want to welcome Cheryl T Rose, who's in the room with me earlier than everyone else. Welcome Cheryl. I was just about to send the link out to the rest of everyone. Before I do an introduction on you, I just want to send this other link out real quick.

BubblemanBoom, boom, shaboom. Get the rest of the people in. So, yes. You can hear me, Cheryl. You can unmute your mic if you want to say hello.

CherylHi, how's it going?

BubblemanIt's going very good, very good indeed. It's another beautiful Sunday where we get to use our platform of Hash Church to share inspirational stories, to share educational stories, and to just get together with like-minded people and try to educate people in regards to the endocannabinoid system, in regards to phytocannabinoids, and just generally You know, break free of this prohibition-driven propaganda that has gotten us all into this situation.

BubblemanAnd welcome Etienne. Etienne, I want to introduce you to Cheryl. She's one of our new guests today. And I'm actually, even though nobody's in just yet, I think I'm going to, well, you know what I'll do? I'll have a nice puff and then I'm going to introduce Cheryl and let her tell her story. Because it is a powerful one. How are you doing this morning, Etienne? They're all muted up.

BubblemanATN. Got 141 viewers in the house. You're muted. You're muted, brother. I like that you got on that quick, though, when I sent that link. This is like, we're not wasting any time today in Hash Church. It's on. Okay, send out the Hash Church link. You're on the turtle. I think we're good. Yes. Excellent. I can't hear you, ATN.

Etienne FontanOh, I'm on now. Sorry, I was on mute. There you go.

BubblemanThere you go. Welcome, buddy. Welcome.

Etienne FontanThank you for the invite, sir.

BubblemanAlways a pleasure. Always a pleasure. We've got a couple hundred people in Hash Church. 215. I guess I'm just waiting a few minutes before I get into introducing Cheryl because I want as many people as possible to hear this. And it's important that we share our stories and I think it's one of the best things about Hash Church is that it's a platform that we can share our stories on.

BubblemanSometimes those stories go very far with people. The last three or four episodes we've had some pretty poignant and powerful stories. George the vet last week with Gorilla Farmers. Welcome Darren.

DarrenGood morning Mark. How are you today? Morning, Darren. Day's good, man. Sunny day up here. Going to do some fence building again and get some more stuff done. Bought a new lawnmower to cut the grass and everything.

BubblemanOh. You're not going to cut my grass, are you?

DarrenNah, not today. You only cut a little bit of lawn, man. I could probably cut that with a pair of scissors. Sure enough, welcome, Mario.

BubblemanHello. Good morning, morning. Mr. L.A. Chester House. It's kind of bright and early hash church today. Usually I start a few minutes late. I was like on the ball today at 9 o'clock. I've been working with Cheryl for the last few days to get her into the room, and we were having all sorts of sort of technical difficulties. And once we finally gave up on her account and we went with Jordan's account, well, lo and behold, it all worked out.

BubblemanSo... Yeah, I'm going to introduce Cheryl here and so I'm reading this from Jason Wilcox's website. He did an interview with Cheryl recently which you can check out at CannabisInCanada.ca and that will be in the blog sections, the interview with Cheryl T Rose and the Haley's Foundation. So I'll just read the first paragraph to give you guys an introduction and yeah. So here we go, here we go, here we go.

BubblemanCheryl is the mother of Haley Jade Rose, a true inspiration for families and sufferers of Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, LGS, a rare form of epilepsy that causes severe multiple and aggressive seizures and delays cognitive and behavioral development. Haley suffered from up to 40 seizures a day at her worst, a punishing and brutal effect of an equally punishing and brutal disease. And so I would like to introduce Cheryl to the room, Haley's mother.

BubblemanAnd if you want to just share a little bit of your journey with us, Cheryl, maybe the beginning of your discovery and the journey that led you to cannabis.

CherylOkay, great. Hi, everybody. Well, Haley was six years old when she started having seizures.

CherylBy the time she was eight, we had already tried two, three different drugs. Uh, pharmaceuticals with no help, and she actually was getting worse. Um, she ended up having up to 40 seizures in a 24-hour period. Grandmas. Um, I had taken my children to California to, when she was eight, to see if maybe I could find a doctor that would look at cannabis. Because nothing else was working.

CherylI was trying other natural things. It just wasn't good enough. There was no doctor that would see her there. We were there for just under six months. I moved back with my kids and we just kept trying different drugs over the years, different pharmaceuticals. She's done about 26 different types. 22 of those were anti-epileptic drugs. She, by the time, in 2008, she was diagnosed

CherylAt the point where the doctors told me in January 2008 that she would not make it till September to start the new school year. And definitely, no matter what, she was not going to make it till the following Christmas. So there was no way, you know, I had to enjoy what time I had left with her.

BubblemanWow. Those are pretty heavy words for a doctor to say to a mom.

CherylYeah, it was really tough.

BubblemanUnbelievable devastation, I can only imagine.

CherylIn May 2008, just five months later, I took Haley down to Mark Emery's Vapor Lounge, and he taught me about the volcano vaporizer, and within seconds, he was sitting right there, there was a couple of people there, and we could see the immediate difference Just from using the volcano. Right away, within seconds. It was crazy. She just started talking and was in pain a little far more.

BubblemanThat's pretty amazing. That was Mark Emery that did that for you?

CherylYeah, yeah. And what year was that? He introduced us to Michelle Rainey, who introduced us to Dr. Paul Hornby. Awesome. Yeah.

BubblemanI miss her.

CherylYeah, me too. She's an incredible woman. I wish I could have gotten to know her more than I did.

BubblemanWell, that's pretty cool that you got such a direct contact. It's interesting that it was the volcano because the volcano was first brought to Vancouver in probably 03 or 04, maybe 03. And that was when I opened my first vapor lounge on Commercial Drive called The Melting Point. And I used to distribute the volcano and they were one of the most, Michelle and Mark were all over that.

BubblemanThey loved the idea of the vapor lounge, having vaporizers, and it's interesting to see that was probably just a few years later, two or three or four years later, that you would go into that store and have Mark Emery and Michelle Rainey. Those are, that's pretty legit for sure. So she began to, obviously you recognized the effects immediately.

CherylOh yeah, definitely. Within nine days of us starting it, we had met with Dr. Hornby. He was at the Green Cross Society at the time. And we met with him. We had been going, he was testing all sorts of different strains. He came across one that had high CBD, which is now known as Haley's Comet. And within nine days, she had started cannabis, switched on to specifically Haley's Comet, and I walked her into our regular GP's doctor that had, you know, since she was like 10, 11 years old, and he couldn't believe, we had seen him 11 days prior, so, and she'd only been on cannabis nine days, he couldn't believe it was the same person, and He had never signed for an MMAR patient ever.

CherylWhen he walked in the room, Haley was going, I'll never forget it. She was sitting there going, I'm bored, I'm bored, I'm really, really bored. And he just was laughing. The doctor was laughing. He was just ecstatic with the whole thing. And he was like, what happened? Tell me. I explained to him everything that was going on and what had happened. And immediately, I was bored. And she's been on Haley's Comet and medical MMR patients since then.

BubblemanWow, very powerful. When you said that, I saw the Haley's Comet shirt right away, and it was, the answer is cannabis happened. Cannabis happened.

CherylYeah. Yeah, it did. It was amazing.

DarrenCan you ask yourself a question about this?

SpeakerOkay.

DarrenDid you find after the medication, did you have to pick it up a little more, or was she getting used to it, immune to the medication, or is it still maintaining a good, like everything that's given it to her? I don't know if that's clear enough. What I mean is when we take medications and then once we start taking medications, we start getting used to them, and then some of those medications don't work.

DarrenI'm just wondering if that medication has worked steady and hasn't varied off at all.

CherylNo. What's happened is when we started, we used Volcano. We immediately, Dr. Hornby got us giving her oral medication or a decarboxylated cannabis to eat as well, and we found that was way better for her because it left a longer duration that she had to, you know,

CherylOver the years, her condition is a lifelong deteriorating condition. Her prognosis is guarded, which is one step up from palliative, and it will be that way for as far as we know ever. She is very frail. It is a tough condition. However, she hasn't gone into status since she was, since before cannabis. She has her reading, she was reading in a grade two level. Now she can read books like Narnia and other, Harry Potter, she loves that.

CherylSo her overall learning and everything has progressed. Now she does take more than she did to begin with. But it's been seven years, and she does take more in order to get the same amount. We've added in some CBD, but I think that also has to do with she's not a kid anymore too, right? She's growing up. When we use other strains, we don't get the same relief.

CherylEven when we mix them, we don't get exactly the same relief. We get close, it helps, but it's just, it's not perfect. There's something about strain specificity that it, I've tried, I've looked, there's other one-to-ones I'm looking forward into trying with her to see if maybe they'll, maybe something out there is even better or not, right? I don't know. But she's done really well. She only seizes during her high seizure time, which is due to estrogen and progesterone fluctuations, and That's because of puberty, right?

CherylAnd going through being a woman and everything. So we give her progesterone only to combat that, and so the seizures are much minimalized. While in hospital recently, we actually were giving her her Haley's Comet, and what we did was we topped up with more CBD, and we've done it before, but we did it while she was in hospital in order to get the proper medical documentation. And we actually, it was funny because the doctor and I and the nurses were discussing it and she was showing signs that implied that she could seize, like the behaviors, the facial things, the eyes and stuff.

CherylWe could see that these triggers were starting to come up and I said, it's time to increase the CBD again. And the doctor said, well, she hasn't seized yet. I said, okay, how about this? We don't have to. We can watch and see if we don't have the base of Haley's Comet, the CBD, and increase a little bit more CBD. We'll see. We can see what happens, but I will bet you she'll cease.

CherylI walked in the next morning. Haley walks behind me and goes, I have to talk to you. Well, I had already called Haley ceased. And so immediately it was like, okay, we're going to increase. And he's like, well, okay, we discussed it. And they were really amazed because they could actually I was able to tell them everything after seven years of what to look for. And then they saw it and they documented it.

CherylAnd pretty soon, hopefully, in the next month, a couple of months here, we should be having that report on the three-month time frame. And it shows the importance of strains. It shows the importance of if you are in a higher seizure time or more susceptible, that yes, topping up does help. Subside.

DarrenGood job. Thank you.

CherylThank you.

DarrenGood stuff. Good stuff.

BubblemanYeah, how much does she use?

CherylShe takes a staple of three grams of oil per day, one gram per dose, three times a day right now. That's her staple amount. She will take a day...

SpeakerCheryl, could you repeat that?

Etienne FontanYou were out there doing the last two sentences. You were speaking here.

BubblemanYeah, can you repeat that, Cheryl? We missed just your last couple.

CherylShe takes one gram of Haley's Comet Oil three times a day is her staple dosing. She can have inhaled as much as she wants, but she only requests it due to eye pain, head pain, but mostly if she feels an aura type thing, she feels off at all, like she could, indicators to her that she may have a seizure, she will use it for immediate relief. So we put the Iolite vaporizer in the school system in Vancouver in 2010 so that it could be used just like an EpiPen or anything, inhaler.

CherylYou know, it can be used right there and administered by the staff in the school.

SpeakerWas that, is that oil? Three grams of oil a day?

CherylThe vapor, the three grams a day is oil, is three capsules a day of Haley's Comet oil. The inhaled is, was actually, we had done it in, it was in five.

SpeakerWow, that's like 2,500 grams a day, split 1,250 a day.

CherylThree grams of oil per day, yes. Yeah, 700 milligrams a gram. Her capsules came out, the test results came out at 32.5% CBD and 37.2% THC and 0.9% CBN. Yeah, that's 700 milligrams per gram, so that's times three.

CherylYeah.

SpeakerA lot. Anybody watching, that's a tremendous a lot. That's a lot, a lot.

CherylBut... Yeah, Haley's always had a very large tolerance. Actually, even with the pharmaceutical drugs, she can take a lot of medication. The problem is we've tried to lower it. When we lower it, she actually seizes. So... We're kind of, if we could get it to lower, that would be great, but.

SpeakerIs it activated or inactivated?

CherylIt is activated.

SpeakerOkay. That tells you how safe it is, just for everybody that's watching. That's like almost 3,000 grams a day.

Etienne FontanThat's a serious amount of dosage. Absolutely.

BubblemanCheryl, I'll introduce you to Tony. Tony is from Colorado. He's one of the founders of United Cannabis and the Prana and the Act Now program. And so he's also helping many people over the years with different ailments. And in fact, Karen, I believe who I'd like to welcome in as well, was one of the people that came to see Tony back in the day. With an ailment that she herself had.

BubblemanSo I wanted to welcome you guys into the room for sure and thanks for coming. I see Tony's like at an airport or something.

SpeakerYeah, I've been traveling this morning. But I wanted to make sure that I could at least chime in because I knew this today was going to be special between Haley's coming and Karen at the same time.

BubblemanYeah, absolutely. So here's a question I had, Tony. Do you think that there would be, I know your specialty seems to be in the more of a micro-dosing into the creating the profiles in a way that you can stack them and almost build the profile you require.

BubblemanIs that a way to get these doses down, or is it still certain people like me are going to require large doses because they have high tolerance?

SpeakerYeah, so there's different programs. So the sublinguals are for microdosing. That's usually for children and adults or somebody that's very sensitive to cannabis or very sensitive or very first starting out with it. But the capsules themselves, and Karen will tell you about the program she's on, it's completely different as far as cancer and things like that. We titrate up. And titrate down, stacking, you know, four, five, 800 milligrams a day, 200 milligrams a day.

SpeakerAnd it gives, you know, really what it was about was giving that matrix grid and options for patients to, you know, either throw the whole kitchen sink out of it or individualize it and target it. Now, I don't know what she's using for her delivery, but that was what we developed with the prana fat. And those combinations of certain fats and then also polarizing it and also keeping the pHs a certain way as well as using the terpenes as modulators.

SpeakerI think that helps the absorption rate. So I'm not sure what she's doing, but if she's just putting it in coconut oil, the body absorbs that in a certain way and at a certain pace. So I think the combination of everything else that's going in is probably helping Keep those doses just lower. But everybody else, everyone's going to be different. Depends on their condition. It depends on, you know, what they're going through or what their ailments are.

SpeakerBut, you know, a parent, somebody that is that intimate with her condition like that, someone that's close to her like that, sees her every single day, she's going to know better than anyone. She's able to monitor, you know.

BubblemanWell, I like the fact that Cheryl saw the doctors actually recognize and write that down. That seems to be a pretty big step in... I mean, in everything with the medical establishment, what I found from a very early age, before even my wife got pregnant with our first child, when I was researching vaccinations... And not to start an anti or a pro-vaccination rant because that's a very sensitive nature and that's something that each person has to decide for themselves.

BubblemanBut what I noticed from going to these particular meetings, and they were from meetings that women who had had problems with vaccinations with their babies and they weren't anti-vaccinations, they were anti the doctors not allowing the statistics to be written correctly, which was manipulating the statistic. So by not admitting that, oh, potentially this baby had this problem from this vaccine, it allowed the statistics of the safety of the vaccine to be further pushed.

BubblemanAnd like I said, these women were not anti-vaccine in any way. In fact, they kept going back for more and more vaccines. They just didn't like the way how specifically if it wasn't written down in a specific way that the statistic of that event could be manipulated. And that's...

SpeakerThere's something else to consider. You know, pharmaceuticals, they cause quite a bit of complications on the body, the liver, the brain, each system. And as you're able to get away from them, we don't know all the implications and side effects of what that's causing. So you're looking at cannabis as repairing it. And then Haley's, in that situation where there's 2,000 or 3,000 grams, There might have been other things going on there, and it's required at this point to maintain those heavier dosages so that there's more repair going on.

SpeakerSo imagine if you were taking hard and poor opiates for eight years, you're barely hanging in there, and then all of a sudden you start repairing the body where your cognitive function improves, your entire immune Thank you for watching.

BubblemanWe might have to troubleshoot when Karen gets back in.

BubblemanIt's always the same that we talk about, the endocannabinoid system, this sort of somewhat miraculous effect that people see when they start taking these phytocannabinoids. Welcome back, Karen. Do we have you working? Oh no, we don't have you. No, we can't hear you, I don't think. Let me see what we got.

BubblemanLet me see how we can troubleshoot Karen to get her working, because we want to hear from her as well. Oh, that was a sound effect.

BubblemanYou're not on mute, so that's the thing that I'm confused by. Let me see.

BubblemanKaren is definitely not on mute.

BubblemanYour mic's turned up. No.

KarenAnyone able to help troubleshoot Karen so we can get her mic working?

BubblemanIn the meantime, I'm going to hit this dab of Full Melt Bubble Rosin.

Etienne FontanKaren, make sure if you're using your headphones, make sure your jack is plugged all the way in. If it's not, try just unplugging and see if you can go raw.

SpeakerGood morning, everyone. Sorry I was away for a minute.

SpeakerGood morning, Aaron. Your green buds and hash, don't lie. Actually, I picked up those books yesterday from my box and I took it over to my buddy's dispensary and I walked in and I go, it's DNA story time.

SpeakerAnd I read their whole dispensary of the book.

SpeakerI read the book last night to my little one. Wife kind of looked at me a little weird, but I had to skip some words out, you know. But it worked really good, yep.

BubblemanReembuds and Hash. It's quite brilliant. Dana Larson, uh... I've got to say, he did a really great job on that book.

SpeakerGreen Buds and Hash? I think I'll take some tokes of some potent Cuban hash.

BubblemanEven the way he signs it.

Etienne FontanI will take a hit, I shall.

BubblemanHe says, to Bubble Man, thanks for all you do for Green Buds and Hash.

SpeakerLove it. Nice. So on the topic of hashish, What do you think is too high of a price? Because there's been some people complaining that, like I know in Washington, a gram of Cuban growers, like 99.9 goes for like 150 grams.

BubblemanI guess it depends on what you're deciding the value on. The value used to be based on prohibition, so it was like, you could go to jail for 10 years, I'm getting 150 a gram. But then when you see women like Cheryl and Karen in the room here, what is the value of your health or your daughter's health or your son's health? What is the value of your life?

BubblemanIt becomes a touchy subject. And do you do what pharmaceutical companies do, which is like jack the price up super high because they know how bad people want that? Or do you act in a more humane fashion and sort of try to, you know, is that a recreational price on that or is that a med?

SpeakerWell, I think the way I look at it is normally people wouldn't get that stuff. Normally wouldn't leave your house. Yep. You know?

BubblemanNormally it wasn't even at anyone's house. How about that?

SpeakerHow is it when, you know, when we're in Amsterdam, there ain't no Sleece Stack or Skunk Dry Sift floating around the shops, you know? I don't see a load of dry... I'm here in LA, I don't see any dry sift in any of the shops, because if someone's making that shit, they're smoking it to their head, because that's the gold at the end of the rainbow. Right.

SpeakerAnd... For someone to say 185...

BubblemanBut then it becomes a Schindler's List type thing, Aaron, right? Because now you have people that require this medicine to live. Let's not even go just to increase the quality of their life. Let's go to live, i.e. they die without it. So now it's like, how the fuck... Do you have like 500 grams of full melt in your personal stash and you're holding on to it and not sharing the genetics because you're the only one that has it and you don't want anyone else to get it?

BubblemanIt's just like, dude, you've been completely like hijacked by a demon if those are your thoughts.

SpeakerYou've got 500 grams of hash, bro. You're a one lucky person, Holmes.

BubblemanAll I know is this. With 500 grams of hash, I still can't help many people.

SpeakerTrue. But what if those people have never gotten that hash ever in their life and they've been smoking something else to ease their pain and all of a sudden somebody comes up with a little bit of their personal, well I wouldn't say personal because if they have 500 grams, it's not, well it could be personal to some people.

BubblemanPeople have 500 grams. You and I both know people have 500 grams.

SpeakerI just don't know, I think it's hard to say something is, like, when you have something that good, and normally you don't ever see it outside of someone's personal stash, is a hard thing to put a number on. You know, yes, I do agree that medical people need a medical price or free price, you know? Mm-hmm. But that being said, when you have gold, like, how do you put a price on this end of the rainbow stuff, you know?

SpeakerThis dust, that pixie dust.

BubblemanIt's also not... We haven't even put the connection together yet, but bottom line is... That best stuff is the medicine. All this crap that people gain access to, they're buying different oils and different edibles and stuff, and they're not even made with the best buds, let alone the best hash, cleaned off the best buds, and then cleaned and decontaminated to a 99%. They're acquiring a medicine often from people that are like, oh, I don't want my 45 and my 25.

BubblemanI'll give it to him, and he can make edibles. Well, what about the 90 and the 73?

BubblemanAnd I wonder, all I know is this. Somehow they're connected. The uber connoisseur snob somehow has the nose to sniff out what would absolutely be the best version of that medicine for all of these different ailments. There's a connection in those two things.

Etienne FontanNot only that... What we're seeing is we're seeing a decline in access to bubble hash because with UTain, PHO, and all the other productions, I'm seeing very few. We still carry bubble hash, but I have to admit, the selection that was there a couple of years ago has dwindled down significantly because everyone's blasting, and that becomes an issue. For us as dispensaries, we have to be the...

Etienne FontanBase point. Oh, I think I can hear Karen there. Regardless, we have to set the standards. So we have to get what we can as well as get something that's affordable, which is very much frustrating with patients when somebody comes in to me and wants a $50 to $75 wholesale for a gram of product.

Etienne FontanThat's where, you know, we have an issue because then I have employees, I have everything, I have to mark it up. I can't just sell it for that reality. So that's also a frustration. And whereas in the past we always knew the gardener always kept the best, you know, that they kept for themselves, now we're seeing through Hash Church and through these other experts, they're, like yourself, pushing for the best medicine.

Etienne FontanPeople are starting to realize that the best stuff actually does provide The best medicine. So we still have a great deal of education to still continue with as well as we implore people to continue to still make quality bubble hash and extractions because we still need access to them. The patients, what I hear, when I hear Cheryl talk about how her daughter is unable to subside her grand mal seizures when her medicine is not accessible.

Etienne FontanYou know how frustrating it is when I serve hundreds of patients a day and my patients can't get the same access every single day. It's very frustrating because it's not a magic widget machine. We can't stamp out Girl Scout cookie, Girl Scout cookie, Girl Scout cookie, Girl Scout cookie. I'm only reliant on what people grow and access. And it's always that way. So that's why we always work with our growers, always work with our hash makers.

Etienne FontanHow did you make it? How can you make it better? What process?

Etienne FontanWe're the quality control. If we don't, as patients, don't understand our own medicine, we have a problem with ourselves. So from us knowing what we want, we can convey to people what we need. So convey to people, people, speak out. Say we need more water hash, more other methodologies. If we don't demand it and we don't pay for it, you're never going to see it.

BubblemanSolventless Quill has gotten big too, so you've got your dry sift, you've got your rosin, you've got your bubble hash, there's a nice variety of somewhat naturally occurring resins without, I don't know, I worry when it's for a patient as well. I had a gentleman text me through Facebook after Colton told his story, and he had said that if he ever takes any of that oil that has the slightest amount of residue in it, That he just gets the most wicked stomach and back cramps because he also had Crohn's and then feels like he has the flu for like a day and a half.

BubblemanI was like, wow, that's pretty intense. That's pretty scary. You know, you know. What's that, Aaron?

SpeakerYou know, Mark, you know what's crazy is the standard of growing has gone down because everyone's just growing for this oil now. Yeah, they blast. They don't flush. They just grow.

BubblemanYou called it. That's a major point that you just made that I've been trying to tell people for a long time, and I sound so biased because I promote Waterhash, but I say to people, look, when you make oil, it's more easy to deceive you in the end as to the quality because it concentrates and makes whatever's there stronger and golden and looking so lovely that it's easy to deceive the senses and As to what you really have there and how they would finally get it was they would try to make water hash or dry sift with that material and then they'd write me back and go, hey, how do I get it to be dabable?

BubblemanAnd I'm like, okay, well, this is a very important thing now because you're either going to hear me or you're not going to hear me. So if you hear me, you're going to go down the path that has led me and many, many, many others To where we are. And that's the path of understanding that your herb isn't the greatest and that you need to grow better herb.

BubblemanNot shittier herb and just blast it.

SpeakerThey pump it up. They grow it. They want as much flowers as they can. They use the Whatever they're using to grow, but let's just get to where it's a green finished product and we can just put it in a freezer, freeze it, and then put it in a tube and blast it. The love is going. It's almost like Amsterdam when I got there. It was like there's a bunch of growers who've never seen male plants before.

SpeakerAll they've done is grown from clone. They Grow their plants. They cut down their, they flower their plants. They cut down their plants. They dry their plants in the room. They don't flush. They want to turn and burn as quick as they can to make that money without the love of the plant. And I, you know, and I'm starting to see that happen here in California where, where I come from, from back in the day, we used to love growing weed.

SpeakerWe used to love growing it because that would be our smoke. It'd be our head stash. Um, And now it's not even about what's for you. It's about just getting it out there to the people and not giving a shit. Just blasting it, turning it into whatever product they can. I don't know. I've seen too many bastardized things lately. And it's kind of annoyed me. Yesterday I seen it.

SpeakerI was just at an event called the Hi-Fi event. And there was like this new pen company out there who makes great cartridges, I think. Until they put one of my strains on it that had nothing to do. Like, the profile was off, the taste was off, everything was off. And it was just like, why ride someone's hard work to put money in your pocket when it doesn't even represent the original thing that it came from?

BubblemanIt's definitely seeming to be the big problem right there. Like, I keep going back to the same thing. I don't really want regulations so much, but I want standards. I want standards for people like Haley so they can just go and acquire their medicine and know every time that when they get that, that's exactly what it's going to be. Just a standard.

SpeakerMark, you were over at my house. You saw even just the filters of what I was discovering was coming out of the weed that everyone is pushing is clean and flushed. I know that's not all of what I'm isolating out is in all of that oil that's going out as so-called good meds. So because nobody's isolating and filtering the way I'm filtering. So I'm seeing that array of the new, you know, that new era of grower.

SpeakerIt all burns clean, but it all doesn't filter clean in the way I filter. I've grown kind of disgusted with a lot of people who always carry that higher than now appearance because they can make their bud look marketable. But inside it's not clean and when you concentrate that, like when you concentrate heavy metals into a product like shatter, like that's why I have to do it every batch.

SpeakerI have no idea what it is to smoke that stuff, but I know everyone else, it's their regular existence and it can't add up to good repetitively. True enough.

BubblemanDo these things worry you, Cheryl?

CherylYeah, I have great concerns over...

CherylI need to know what I'm giving my daughter. I need to know what's in it. I need to know that it's clean. I believe it was you, Horatio, that donated the Halley's Comet Oil. Absolutely beautiful.

CherylIt's nice, it's clean. You want a clean product. I don't want to give my daughter something with lots of other stuff. I mean, I have had to use typical, more classic type ways with different solvents and stuff, but a nicer, cleaner medicine, as well as the testings, the standards need to be there. It's not, for me, a lot of people go, oh, Haley's Comet, it's not very pretty, is it?

CherylIt's like, you know what, it's not about being pretty, it's about the medicine that it has. I don't care how pretty it is. If it doesn't have what I need for my daughter and I can't give it to her in a way that she needs to consume it, it's of no good to me. So it is very important that it's done that way and clean and even the growing, good flushing, all that is very important.

BubblemanWelcome, Johnny B. Oh, Johnny.

JohnnyYeah, you know, I notice a lot of times the grower is really the big part. You know, I mean, it depends on what the grower is doing, how good your hash is going to be. You know, I wash for this one specific grower that I don't really like to wash this material for anymore. And every time it comes out, you know, you've got green plant material. There's no hints of purple at all in the plant material.

JohnnyBut the water is great Kool-Aid, you know, and you know that there is something in that plant that the fertilizer is just left behind. Because there's not even a hint of purple on the plant material itself, which is the most bizarre thing. And it's got to be some purple juice fertilizer that they're putting on there so that they can make the plant look good. So it's saleable.

JohnnyAnd, you know, that kind of shortcut really shows in your extraction. You know, you're going to find, you know, that purple stuff that comes out into CO2. We've thrown away batches of oil because it's not fit for patients because of fertilizers, because of issues like that that we couldn't see on the material itself before we processed it.

BubblemanSo... Yeah, that old migraine headache profile.

JohnnyYeah, yeah. Exactly. It's like you're just smoking fertilizer at that point. I mean, realiztically, we're all smoking fertilizer. We're smoking whatever we use to make that plant. And I would much more prefer it to be organically... Based nutrients that the plant is taking up rather than some synthetic profile that gets locked in there. You know, I mean, even that guy that had the purple Kool-Aid bubble water stuff from green plant material, he says, oh man, yeah, yeah, we flushed for two and a half weeks on that stuff.

JohnnyWe used this to flush, we used that to flush, all these chemicals we put on there to break down the salts in there. And some things just don't break down, you know. And if you're flushing with a chemical, are you really flushing? Well, you've got to flush that.

SpeakerThat's another thing. People use these flushing agents and they're like, oh yeah, I flush my plants. But like, do they flush those flushing agents out? You know? Those key lights that grab all the salts and that's what they're supposed to do is they're supposed to bond to the salts and then wash them out. But like, really, you've got to wash them out too. You know, you've got to Flush.

SpeakerThat's the whole meaning of flush. Water until your plants look ugly and they smell great and then cut them down. You don't ever want to take a picture of your plants when they've been flushed for two weeks, bro. That's not like... I would never have a professional photographer come into a room that's two weeks into flush and expect some great pictures because... Hey, wait, wait, wait a second.

SpeakerOh, come on. I'm about to do this challenge.

Etienne FontanMaybe Mark can take some great pictures. Mildly school you for a second.

BubblemanNo, this is what I'll say about that. The macro photography, it can work with macro photography. But yeah, I'm not taking pictures at a distance, but I'm just talking about intense, crazy trichome shots. Always been in the last couple of days of the plant's life.

SpeakerYeah, well, those macro shots are a different thing. You're right, Mark.

BubblemanYes, they're different, that's all.

SpeakerThey are very different. You don't even see, like, you're not even seeing 1% of the plant when you take a macro.

BubblemanNo, you're not.

Etienne FontanYou're not really seeing any vegetation.

SpeakerMacro, I just want to give a shout out to the R1C1 flash system. I'm sure Bubble Man knows about those flash systems. They are just clutch. It allows you to have A flat, kind of like a two-dimensional plane, which allows you to have the most high-quality macro shots possible. My photographer nerd buddy keyed me into that. Seeing how when you make solventless, the trichome heads will really show you what you're working with.

SpeakerIf people overfed the material, And you make pure 99.9% trichome heads out of that, it'll still be half melt. Even if it's made from like OG that stinks for days, it'll still be not grown properly. Even pure heads. That is true. So it's so interesting, but then like, and these guys were saying, you can just turn that into a solvent-less based product. And you would never have known unless you have the proper testing and regulation to back it.

SpeakerAnd when I say regulation, I don't mean government or corporate regulation like steel labs or quality labs that can help test and regulate what goes out. And I know there was some interest in explaining the story of... How the Girl Scout Cookies came about, and we were just mentioning it a little bit ago, and I thought I would just chime in real quick in regards to the Probiotic Farmers Alliance and my buddy Alan Atkinson.

SpeakerWe are connected to the real Cherry Pie Kush fan, and it's not like the Cookies fan. The Cookies Folks honestly don't even know what the cross is because we don't even fully know what the cross is. But we know that it's a Pakistani Chitral Kush. It's not an OG, it's the PCK, CPK, Cherry Pie Kush. It's the dominant PCK, Pakistani Chitral Kush. And that Pakistani Chitral Kush was bred in with the Cherry Pie Kush to make What we know of today as the cookies.

SpeakerAnd there was a light leak that created some stealthed seeds on the cherry pie cush. And it was moved through the rapper cats like Jigga and all those guys in the bay. They loved it. They just couldn't. It was their shit. Honest to God, Burner, when he first got it, was eating Thin Mint cookies, is what I was told. And right when he got them, he was like, this is like Girl Scout cookies.

SpeakerAnd he wrote Girl Scout cookies up on the board behind him at his little dispensary. And that's Girl Scout cookies then from day one. They found some seeds in it from the herming seeds and popped those. These seeds right here, From TJ's dash, he took some of the same bud from that same light-leafed crop and put them and saved a handful of the seeds and we have them and we're going to be doing some breeding with an heirloom kush that is an OG sour bubble.

SpeakerWith a super select male of an OG Sour Bubble, crossed with Chrome's Old Cut of the Rogan, which is with OG Northern Lights and LA Pure Kush. So it's just cushy maximum for days. So yeah, we got the original CPK.

BubblemanAlright, well thanks for sharing that story, dude. Much appreciated.

SpeakerCan I ask you a question? You said those seeds were acquired by a light week, so technically those would be like kind of hermy seeds?

SpeakerExactly. They are hermy seeds, like the way people make self-feminized seeds before testing them properly to make sure that they don't carry the hermy trait. Just like a lot of golden keeper crosses or golden phenos are, it came from a Hermie. And I don't know if this is true or not. You can speak to it and see what you think. I'd love to see what you think.

SpeakerBut I think sometimes some of the highest quality, really, really exotic cultivars are very finicky a little bit, and they can go towards the Hermie. If you don't treat them really, really well. I feel like I wouldn't want to use these inside, but I would be comfortable with them outside, and that's how I do things. I'm a greenhouse and outdoor guy, and I think the natural cycle can prevent the hermit trait from coming out, and breeding it in with proper stabilized genetics will allow the hermit trait to fade quickly.

SpeakerYeah, I think some, like if you crack those seeds, I think you might find some very nice females. But like the same thing with the cookie issue that's going around now is a lot of people when they buy a bag of cookies, a lot of these other varieties that spin off that will find a seed or two in their bag of flowers. And then they grow out that bag of, that bag, that bag seed.

SpeakerAnd then you have a new, I don't know, forum cookies or some other name cookies, you know, that come out of those herm seeds. Now, if you breed with that, you might end up with the trait that you're not, that's not so desirable, you know, and people might have some issues. But you could get lucky too with the phenotype that you pick out of that original pack of seeds.

SpeakerIt could be solid, but you have to keep in the back of your mind that those seeds did come from a problem.

SpeakerExactly. They came from a Hermione plant just like many of the OGs and just like the East Coast Sour Diesel. And I, with my crosses, my diesel crosses, the original diesel, the non-Hermie cross, which is the pre-East Coast Sour Diesel, and I try to use strictly non-Hermie genetics in crossing, and I feel like that, Don, I totally agree with you on that point. But I also feel like when you have a Hermie cross, If you're working with the first generation of those self seeds and you're not using the self of the self of the self, like the Girl Scout cookies or the self, the seeds off of Girl Scout cookies, for instance, you're going straight to the original cross that was high quality and there was just a simple light leak on it.

SpeakerThen you can get closer to the source of the proper quality. Let me know what you think on that one. I'd love to hear.

SpeakerIt was really hard for me to understand you kind of breaking up during that whole thing right there.

JohnnyYeah, so, you know, I'd love to comment on that a little bit. So, you know, I believe what Aaron's saying is definitely true. You know, you breed with the Hermi, you're going to bring those Hermi traits into that line. And what you're saying, Creek, basically, is that if you take a self of that self of that self of that self, the further out you get, the more you're going to be breeding those genetic traits for hermaphrodite in there.

JohnnyYou know, all cannabis can hermaphrodite. And so those traits are in the genes, but it's how much it's going to express it is what the issue is. So when you breed with something that's hermy, I believe that Creek is right. You know, after a couple generations, you're able to get it back to a stable point where it has very little hermaphrodization. But if you keep breeding with that same hermy line and you're breeding hermies to hermies, You're going to end up with a completely hermy strain.

JohnnyEverything's going to come out hermy from that. It just depends on how you're doing it. You need to treat anything really careful like Aaron's saying if you're going to be breeding with hermy stuff. But it's worth it. Cannabis will divulge into a hermaphrodite tendency because it wants to produce itself Thank you so much for joining us today.

JohnnyThat's its drive in life is to produce the seed.

BubblemanToo bad Rob wasn't here today.

SpeakerI totally agree. I'm actually looking forward to seeing Rob. He's going to be here in a couple weeks. And I'm going to be judging with him the non-solving category of Chalice this year.

BubblemanI saw that. That's awesome. I'll see you there, Aaron.

SpeakerI'll see you there too, brother. I look forward to smoking. Aaron, can you explain Chalice real quick? What about Chalice? Chalice is an arts, music, cannabis lifestyle show. And it's put on by Hitman Glass Dougie.

SpeakerIt's not going to be like outrageous and stupid. He's very fair with the way he's setting it up. And yeah, it's another nice show that's put on properly.

Etienne FontanIt has a focus on glass blowing as well and quality cannabis. There will be a whole center where people can watch glass blowing. Mothership's going to be there. Of course, Hitman and various other glass masters are going to be there. It's going to be Pretty cool event, and the music lineup is out of this frickin' world. I don't know how we got all those people. Great music lineup.

SpeakerYou know, it's a two-day show, so, I mean, it's in San Bernardino, California. Yeah, it'll be fun. I'm glad. Say again? I was just going to say that... Do you want to drop any name?

BubblemanI guess that's him. All right, I'll just mute myself.

SpeakerYeah, I just, you know, I'm just really looking forward to being a part of it. You know, I'm excited. I'm glad to be invited to be a part of it. And thank you, Doug and Hitman Glass, for letting DNA be a part of your excellent lifestyle show.

BubblemanVery cool, very cool.

Etienne FontanWhat are you puffing on today there, Bubble Man?

BubblemanOh, I just made a little rosin with some foam out bubble that I had. Came out pretty darn good.

Etienne FontanSo what iron do you use personally? What hair iron?

BubblemanI have a real small one. I like that it's thin and that I can put a small little ball of hash around the parchment and know that when the hash squeezes out, It's not on the blade, on the heater anymore. Once the hash gets pushed out, it's on a cooler surface. It's not being like, like those big thick fat ones that literally blow the oils. I like less heat exposure.

BubblemanMight have to make some right now, I try.

BubblemanAre we making rosin, Jeff? Jeff's always making rosin, I know that much.

BubblemanHe's a rosin fiend.

SpeakerSo I just realized I have some pictures of the cherry pie cush that I grew way back in the day, like three or four years ago. And it was in a leak. I was, you know, just a total amateur. And a little leak. And that, those plants did not Hermie and produced self-seeds, whereas many of the clones I had did. Many of the well-known, big-name clones did Hermie.

SpeakerSo that's interesting to note. If you guys want to see some of the pictures, it is some of the best stuff, like the best cookies you'll see pictures of around this cherry pie cook.

BubblemanSeen some pretty nice cookies, man.

BubblemanI'm not going to lie.

BubblemanIt's like that. I'm not going to lie. All right, D420K, take us through it.

BubblemanTake us through it.

Etienne FontanHey, Darren, what are you puffing on?

DarrenOn some rosin I made out of dry sift last night. A nice, some unclean dry sift. It's really kind of, it sucks that it's so easy now just to take the stuff that I have that I don't have to clean and just make rosin out of it. I don't know.

BubblemanHave you tried making rosin, Cheryl, for your own medicine?

BubblemanWell, we got you on mute. Let me try to unmute you.

CherylThere we go. I've got the blue cheese here, but my actual, my personal favorite strain to date is John's Medi-Kush.

BubblemanNice.

CherylIt's the only one I can use all the time, and I don't have to switch to find a different strain. It's the only one I can use all the time, and I love that, so.

BubblemanNice. And do you guys grow yourselves, or do you have to...

CherylI was growing Haley's Comet for Haley for a few years, but then we moved and we had all those issues with the injunction and all that, so we're kind of in limbo. Community has really, really come together for us over these last two years. It's just been remarkable. With medications and preparations of it and all sorts of things.

BubblemanSo if people are watching Hash Church and want to offer help, how would they go about getting in touch with you guys?

CherylWell, we're on Facebook, Haley Rose Foundation.

CherylI don't have a website yet. My email is ctrose72 at gmail.com.

CherylAnd you can always contact us directly at 604-500-6436. Awesome.

BubblemanGreat. Well, I know some people will be watching. It happens every week. And if you guys want to offer some help, if you've got some strains or some really high quality standardized medicine.

CherylI actually wanted to mention something that was really amazing that happened at VGH. When Haley was in hospital, on February 25th to March 5th, VGH General Hospital Pharmacy approved her CannaCat medications and actually had the nursing staff distributing it, administering it to her in hospital, which they had to stop on March 5th because It technically isn't in their policies and procedures yet, but they are more than aware that all this stuff needs to be changed, and they are looking at it.

CherylSo they do, VGH does recognize that medical cannabis is quite necessary for many different kinds of patients.

BubblemanAnd have you guys listened to, Jonathan Stade was one guy who was in here a few weeks ago talking about how he got Thank you for watching.

CherylI am looking into that. John Profelo actually had mentioned that to me about a week ago. And I am looking into that, except that right now, like, if... The only places you can get Haley's Comet right now, if you don't grow it, is from Compassion Clubs, the different clubs around the city. There's no LPs or anything like that that have it and are growing it, so... It's...

CherylI'm hoping that if I can get coverage for it, I'm hoping that I can get coverage to grow it. I don't know exactly what all he... I don't know the whole story about what he actually got. So... Approved.

BubblemanAlright. Some little rosin I just made.

CherylYou could let me know, though. What exactly did he get approved? Uh...

SpeakerFrom the government.

BubblemanWho are you? I missed something.

CherylYou were mentioning about costs of medications.

BubblemanOh, Jonathan Zade, yeah. He got like one of his insurance companies is paying and covering, you know, 80% of his cannabis cost or something. I could definitely put him in touch with you. Okay, that would be great. No problem. I'll do that through Facebook. I'll send you guys both a message simultaneously and you'll both be in it.

SpeakerI'm going to see if this microphone works. Sorry, guys. I've been trying to get this working this morning. Can you hear me now?

Etienne FontanYes, I'm clear.

SpeakerGreat.

Etienne FontanWhat up, John?

SpeakerGood morning, everybody.

Etienne FontanHi, John. Nice plant. What is that plant?

SpeakerWell, this is the Haley's Comet. This is the plant that I've had since we first met Cheryl. And I've actually been keeping this plant alive for over seven years. And once again, it's great to actually have you guys here because one thing about this plant is it always olive flowers. It has been a pain, as Cheryl knows. She's nodding her head. This plant, I have been taking cuts from her and keeping her alive for seven years, and it dries up.

SpeakerOh, technical difficulties.

BubblemanYes, I was seeing this.

Etienne FontanIt froze, John. It froze.

BubblemanIt froze right up. I was hoping it was just on mine, but he has froze up.

SpeakerI think it's the Firefox. Mark, have you ever made a bubble hash? From a mother plant that wasn't, it was just in a, not, it was a mother plant, in 24 hour light or 18 hour light, and it pre-flowered just like John is saying his. Have you ever made bubble hash off a plant like that?

BubblemanSorry, like a mother that just pre-autoflowered?

SpeakerYeah. Like we had a strain, like literally, it would autoflower. So much that literally, and there would be resin on it that you could, as you're cleaning it up, you could actually make water hash from the plant.

BubblemanInteresting. Can't say that I have.

SpeakerJohn, can you hear me? Yes, I can. Can you hear me? Yeah, yeah, we can hear you. Is that like producing THC and everything? Well, the whole thing is about this. I want to make mention about this. It's so hard to make hash from it. It's so hard to get dry sift from it. I believe that the tri-cone head is so small. It's such a unique strain to work with.

SpeakerI've had nothing but problems with it, and that's why we're making oil with it. That's why, I mean, Horatio got the LA show and that was through some other people I gave the strain to, Monty, who are being able to show me different ways of being able to maybe trellis it and stuff because it's just such a, it grows like hemp. So it's a really unique strain.

SpeakerIt's hard to get any, bubble hash I've tried making with it, it's like, it's defeating. You're like, I got nothing. I do dry sift with it, same thing. I get nothing. It's just like shit. I get nothing from it. Even crushing it over screens, but it gives such an aromatherapy. It's different, and I have no way of being able to test that, so it would be interesting if we could, because it's got to be a smaller micron or something.

Etienne FontanAre you making rosin with it, John?

SpeakerYes, same thing.

BubblemanWhat about giving a bunch of other people the strain to grow? I find if a bunch of different people grow, you'll get different results.

SpeakerI have. There's actually quite a few people who have the strain. I'm going to say, how many Cheryl, how many people have the strain now? A dozen? More?

SpeakerBut I mean, over and over, I get the same kind of nice, nice buds. It's very flavorful. Someone like Mike, who has cancer, really likes the strain because he doesn't like to get too high from it. Other people who have Crohn's really like it because they don't like the high effects. So it's definitely that strain. Now, the last batch I did, I got some PM. That's why it's still in my bag.

SpeakerAnd Cheryl didn't get any, but... It'll be interesting. I've got to take cuts from it again because it's going to auto-flower for sure. And it's just in that stage. It's what happens every year. John, when you say it's a pain to grow because it grows like hemp and it's just everywhere for you, have you tried the three or four trellis technique to hold it up? I'm learning that right now.

SpeakerActually, I haven't tried that. That's as you can see how I'm now pruning this and I'm cutting it down. What I want to do is I want to tie the ends to the back. Like I saw my buddy, he tied it down and then these were able to start sprouting up. So I'm now managing to change, but every time I get to this stage, it starts to auto flower.

SpeakerIt might be the size pot you're in too. Yeah, I just put it outside, you're right, so I got to transplant it, I know that. So I was going to actually put it right into the dirt this time, and backyard, and let it go, and that's going to happen today. Yeah, my friends that grow a lot of like ACDC and some of these CBD varieties that grow really spindly, not spindly, but like wild, I think is a better word, and Use more than one trellis tech, you know?

SpeakerThey start when they're smaller to help them hold themselves up, and you know, trellises, you know, whatever, it's not that expensive, so you can just cut it off at the very end. Yeah, I did start that, and like I said, I put it outside, and like you're saying, it's probably doing that because it has to be transplanted into another pot, and you're totally right. So, next step, but...

SpeakerI'll take some cuts from it again, and I'll do the same thing, and keep her going, and keeping it alive, because we know if we lose it, we're never going to get it again. And I've had a lot of fun breeding it a few times, but once again, it's a unique strain to grow, right? Well, it sounds like you need to, you know, if she's almost to the end of her road... She has to be...

SpeakerIt has been for a few years. That's the problem. That's why people have been trying to work with it and stuff like that. Some other people have it. I started breeding with it, well, just through some pollen with it, mixed some males with some females. That was it. I just wanted to try and keep it because I felt like I was losing it like three years ago.

SpeakerThen I actually did lose it. Cheryl gave it back to me. Well, if you don't have a male, you've got to sell it to itself. Yeah. So then you could at least grow out those seeds and then look for the most Haley-like, you know, pheno, the original pheno. You know, and it's going to be fresher, it's going to have more vigor. Maybe it won't auto-flower. Well, that's...

SpeakerI'm getting that with those last batch of seeds, but you know what? Yeah, it's... I mean, I'm not that person to do it. Someone needs to do that with it. You know what I mean? I'm... But I'll definitely take some cuts from it and we'll go from there. And I know Mark does have it. I know Horatio has it. A few people have it out there. I don't know if Darren's ever gotten it.

SpeakerBut, I mean, this strain, people don't like to grow it because it doesn't give the yield, but it is the most efficacious plant out there. And the people that do have it, I mean, they got to work with it. And everybody likes to grow one or two plants to help patients out, but no one really wants to grow it because it's shitty yield, but it's amazing medicine.

SpeakerAnd that's just, we've got to try and get the yields on it so people would grow it, and that's the problem. You're smiling, Horatio, because you've seen the yields on it. You've got the last batch. It's not a big yielding plan at all. It's really probably really shitty. I've got a question for Aaron. Now, in me trying to work out that conundrum of the yield, and its attributes that remind me of ditchweed tendencies...

SpeakerWhat have you seen in success rates for people who are trying to grow plants indoors that require natural sunlight? It seems like the hemp aspect in the plant demands an outdoor situation and all of this gangly sprawliness is actually a light deficiency.

CherylActually, I'd like to touch on that from my understanding from the people who I originally received this strain from. It's outdoor grown. It grows out there. It grows great. But it is always like that. That is how it is. And there are multiple different people that do have it, that have tried all different ways. And it really does tend to... The exactly that. And it is a low yielder.

CherylIt's like between six to eight ounces maximum. We're talking a huge tree to get that kind of yield. So that's typical Haley's Comet. And she's been a key. And when I did a flower with her, what I did was I tested her. I was doing indoors with a thousand watt bulbs. And what I did was I tested her From six weeks in flower to I think it was nine, ten weeks in flower.

CherylNo, sorry, it was six to eleven weeks in flower. And what came out as perfect profile was at eight weeks cropping. After that we actually saw the deterioration of the CBD in that through test results. I wasn't looking at the trichomes or anything like that. I was just going along with what the actual test results were coming back showing us. So That, for me, is kind of interesting.

CherylOutside, it grows differently, obviously, and it gets really purple. It tends to get purple at the end of the year.

SpeakerHave you ever found the outdoor crop to be more beneficial for Haley than when that crop is forced to grow indoors?

CherylActually, I have comparable chromatographies from the people who originally grew it outdoors. And an indoor grower. And I have other test results with the same product from other indoor growers and that same other indoor grower as well, like multiple of them. And outdoors was still, the first year that we received it outdoors had the absolute best chromatography only. I don't, like I haven't gotten all John's or many other growers, right?

CherylI just have certain growers that results. But when I, that's why I mentioned the, when I cropped it at eight weeks, the test results showed at eight weeks was the best for the ratio of the THC and CBD. That's when it was highest. After that, it just started dropping. But that was the max. It was around then. But outdoors was great. I would love to see it.

CherylThank you for joining us today.

CherylI missed that, what?

SpeakerHave you tried that with the flowering outdoor plants once flowering starts?

CherylNo, not yet. We will probably be doing that, getting samples done throughout this year, most likely. But we haven't done that. It's just I had the control and environment and the ability to, so that's it. I have a question.

SpeakerHoratio, real quick, Mark, sorry. Real quick, sorry. Horatio, when growing these plants, most of the time you do it outside, and they're very large plants, and that's where the multiple trellising technique comes in because they grow great outside, but they need to be held up.

SpeakerGo for it, Mark. Thank you.

BubblemanI just wanted to know if it was a particular island in the Gulf Islands that that strain came from originally.

SpeakerNanaimo. Nanaimo, right? I had this strange, I heard a rumor that it was Tixada. That the plant had relationship to Tixada time warp. Yes. And that's when I thought, well maybe it's because it's been bred with hemp. To get that CBD in it that we have these problems indoors. But Tixedo Time Warp is also a true outdoors plant. I was sitting in the lab with Dr. Hornby when Franklin walked in and he came from that when he was growing in some valley and he brought in this weed to have it tested and we put it on the HPLC.

SpeakerAnd Paul was, we were both watching the CBD go through. Paul got all excited and this guy actually started crying. He didn't know what was going on. It was quite amazing. And Cheryl then, it was like the next day you walked in the door. It was just the way everything kind of happened. But that's what originally was growing in a valley and the guy was talking about it.

SpeakerHe had just brought it in and knew we were doing some testing and people really liked the strain and it just all started from there and it just kind of, Over the last seven, eight years, it's now starting to get the recognition that it's really, truly needed because what Paul was saying right from the beginning, how much this strain is going to be is truly a medicine.

SpeakerWe see that with Sherry, we see that with Haley every day, and even with Lauren and some other kids that I deal with who have the strain. It's good medicine.

BubblemanI think it also would have started a little before that because that's why I like to follow the history of the plant back. Which is like, where did he get it from? In the Valley of Nanaimo. Did he get it from the guys on Texada? I ask because I have a lot of good old buddies that are the old school farmers on Texada that grew that strain and did like an exceptional job at growing the Texada Time Warp.

BubblemanThey haven't seen it themselves in some years. Not many people have it anymore.

SpeakerWell, he initially did say it was a Texada Time Warp. I remember him saying that when we were sitting in the lab that day. He said it It's a tuxedo time warp cutter. And he was having problems. He always tried keeping it alive. He always made it mention that we had to keep taking cuts of it. That's awesome. Well, probably. But he would be the guy to find out more detail.

SpeakerThat's for sure.

BubblemanWell, maybe he's watching Hash Church and he can let us know because what a great way to follow the history of the strain back and maybe secure, you know, a different version of it before it got crossed or the plant that it got crossed with, you know, something that may be of a value. I'm a kind of firm believer of stacking. I love the idea of stacking.

BubblemanSo if one strain isn't doing it, then, you know, find a variety of strains to build that profile that is best for what's ailing you.

Archive SeedsCan you guys hear me?

BubblemanHey, welcome, Fletch.

Archive SeedsHey, how's it going? To elaborate kind of on the auto-flowering trait with some mother plants in particular, so the Pure Malawi, that's from Jeff, and Big Sur Holy Weed that I've had for 10 years or more, and we lost it four years ago, and they all had that same trait. Uh, particularly auto flowering, especially when it gets root bound. Um, I also grew a bunch of Tex Ada Time Warp, Tex Ada Time Warp Cambodian, a bunch of Vancouver Island stuff because I, you know, 10 years ago, I was considering moving up to Vancouver Island.

Archive SeedsUm, and I went and visited with Reefer Man for 10 days and, you know, I was just kind of looking around and checking it out. And, uh, you know, I ran Cambodians out, Cambodian Time Warps outside up here, auto flower trade all day, you know, and, um, It wouldn't surprise me in the least now that I've seen and experienced like high CBD varieties that I never really knew what they were previously.

Archive SeedsI would wager to guess that a lot of those Cambodian time warp stuff that I was going through, some of the outdoor up in Stossel Creek and all these other spots in Washington, they just were like very unique plants with completely different than everything else I was growing, which is probably why I didn't keep any of it. But, you know, it was distinctly different type of plants, type of resin, type of calyx structure.

Archive SeedsEverything was pretty different about these plants.

BubblemanYeah, equatorial, you know, tropical sativas.

Archive SeedsYeah, and hybrids that had been, you know, developed on Vancouver Island for the early finishing traits with long summer days. I mean, you're, you know... They're picking for early flowering, but what other traits also come with all that selection as well? For sure.

BubblemanWell, it's great. Once again, that connection to the head back in the 70s, just like selecting all these plants and growing them for his head, and then fast forward to many decades forward where Haley could be using one of the strains as her medicine that works the best for her.

Archive SeedsYeah, it's hard to know sometimes when you're breeding or working with any kind of strain what type of results you may come across because this plant is pretty, you know, as we can see with all the strains, the different ratios, I mean, this plant's amazing. It'll do almost anything on its own, whether you even try or not. I mean, the majority of the clone-only strains that we have today are from it preserving or pollinating itself, not an act of, you know, someone actually doing it consciously.

Archive SeedsSo, You know, this plant breeds itself into winners without us even necessarily trying, other than just propagating it and continuing to grow it and enjoy it. And the plant preserves and modifies itself practically.

Etienne FontanAbsolutely.

SpeakerI was going to say, last year I did a little video, and it was the Haley's Comet cross with the Northern Light. It grew to the middle of November. I just kept letting it go. It was able to withstand the wind, the rain, everything, once being an outdoor strain. It does so well outdoors, but on that note, just making sure it's great outdoors.

Archive SeedsThe Big Sir Holy Weed, the Pure Malawi, all of those are anywhere between middle November to New Year's Eve type finish. And that's in Northern California. I don't know about up here.

JohnnyI remember that Malawi, it was like mid-January before... That big one got pulled down in Tahoe.

Archive SeedsThe one that you could hang out under and read a book. It had a canopy at five and a half, six feet or so. I think it was a 10 or 12 pound plant that Malawi.

JohnnyNo, it was insane. It was the size of a B-dub bus. Literally, just this giant mammoth thing.

Archive SeedsI have some pictures of that plant, Jeff, from whatever that was 10 years ago. That I was taking and I have some nice like close up bud photos with the background with the praying mantis hanging out on a big Malawi Cola. Pretty cool, pretty cool photo. You know, I heard this like, you know, five inch praying mantis zoom by my head in the garden and it just lands, boom, right in front of me with my camera, right on this huge Malawi Cola with a perfect background of like, you know, Central Valley, California looking down towards Sacramento.

Archive SeedsAnd it was just, you know, I have some good old pictures from that. It was really fun.

JohnnyThat was an amazing spot for sure. I definitely, man, I miss that Malawi. It was wonderful. I've got the Malawi Northern Lights still, but, you know.

Archive SeedsWe've still got the pure one, but it is not, it's just, man, it hates life. It's hard to get it to grow.

JohnnyIt's hard, man. It's like every three weeks you have to pull it out of its pot, rip its roots off, and repot it with fresh soil around it, or else it's going to continue to flower. Once it starts to flower, you've just got to cut all the flower out where it starts to flower and really transplant it. It takes a lot of work to maintain that thing.

JohnnyI went on vacation and it didn't get maintained, so... That's how I lost it.

BubblemanYou guys remember the Mullum Bimby Madness from the Mullum Madman?

Archive SeedsThey had a bunch of different, there was the, what was his name, Fett and all those guys that were making like the, what was it, the three, those Mullum Bimby crosses and all kinds of crazy Australian crosses. There was also the ABB, which was the Australian Bastard Cannabis. Just recently I saw Hive at CannaCon. Really?

SpeakerYeah.

Archive SeedsYeah. Dr. Yeah, believe it or not, and met him finally.

Archive SeedsHe had a bunch of hybrid leaves because now that we have all these labs up here in Washington, I have also another friend that works in one of the labs here in Washington, that we want to get the ABC tested and see what it is because it does hybridize fully with any regular cannabis plant, so it's obviously the same species. You know, he showed me this sandwich bag of leaves of I think it was A, B, C, B, X, Y, and I can't remember what the outcross was.

Archive SeedsJust straight, looked like some weird, it didn't even look like weed at all. You know, these little tiny like half dollar sized freak leaves that don't even have serrations. They're perfectly smooth. Yeah, it's, I mean, this plant's absolutely amazing in terms of what it can do. How it has survived and what it pulls out of itself. I haven't seen the test yet from that ABC, but it will be really interesting to find out.

SpeakerIs it Doug's foot from Australia also?

Archive SeedsYeah, also. I think it was Northern Australia is where they originally found the ABC. For some reason, and I don't remember this, but I remember... Them talking about some possible connection to like Papua New Guinea or some of the islands north of Australia, which Papua New Guinea has one of the most diverse, or I think if not the most diverse, you know, ecosystem on the planet in terms of uniqueness.

Archive SeedsI mean, that's where if you watch like National Geographic, you know, those crazy birds and stuff, Birds of Paradise, there's hundreds of different kinds of that. Anyways, it'd be really interesting if it like, Was some adapted strain from, let's say, Papua New Guinea that, you know, I don't know, just completely different genetic stock and material than what we're seeing.

BubblemanYeah, that reminds me of Wally Duck from back in the day. Yeah, he had tons of cool pictures.

SpeakerHis name got brought, High Times called me and was like, does anybody have access to get a hold of Wally Duck? Because he wanted to know about Duxville.

Archive SeedsReally? And I was like...

Archive SeedsI thought he was still on ICMAG and stuff like that, but maybe not. I haven't really looked, to be honest.

SpeakerI've been kicked off of there for almost a decade.

Archive SeedsCome on. You're probably not missing a whole lot.

SpeakerI need a friend. I was going to say, my friend Brent just showed up, and here's this Haley's Calm, and it's been kind of cured for about six months. In the beginning, he never liked it. The first thing he said, not knowing what it was... It's tasty. It's tasty, but he doesn't get a high from it, because it's got really no THC, but it's so good. But as the cure went on, it's so tasty.

SpeakerIt's amazing, but... It's one of those, I just want to make mention of how he realized the difference of it, how tasty it was six months later. I really enjoyed it, but yet he's not getting the TTC high that he's really looking for, so we're going to move over to doing some rosin dubs. I'm a real lightweight, actually, and I just had four big puffs of that, and I don't even feel much of a buzz.

SpeakerAnd he's a medical patient in a way. He uses it for anxiety issues and stuff like that. So he likes certain strains, and this is one strain that doesn't work for him. It might lower the anxiety level, but I like the euphoric state as well.

Archive SeedsThere you go. Bye, guys. And to go back... Oh, yeah, go ahead.

SpeakerI was going to say, I've known him for 25 years. He kind of knows me really well, so... He's always supported my medical marijuana use and of course he's became an avid patient himself.

Archive SeedsGoing back to the duck's foot strains though, I grew out a bunch of those. I grew the duck's foot blueberry by Wally Duck. Really unique strains. Granted, everybody's trying to say that's N-O-G and I couldn't argue more that it isn't, but I mean, the plants aren't even remotely similar, you know. The same thing with like the whole, What's that? It's the OGKB, bro. Dude, totally. Duck's foot leaves, all these things.

Archive SeedsIt's got to all be the same strain. This plant's not capable of it. No, but I mean, it's a completely different looking type of leaf pattern. I mean, it's almost like a maple leaf. The same thing with the Hawaii webbed indica. I grew a bunch of Molokai Frost Hawaii webs, and the strawberry web was a cut that my buddy and Hana used to grow a bunch. Granted, you bring that thing inside and it'll just hermit like crazy, but outside the strawberry well was fine.

Archive SeedsI had a lot of the same experience with duck's foot crosses, just a lot of hermaphroditism in it. Most likely because the plants were bred outside most of the time, so you have to reselect for traits away from any kind of hermit traits for better indoor performance under lights. And that goes back to what you guys were talking about earlier about, you know, hermy strains inside, outside, how they have less a tendency to show the characteristics outside.

Archive SeedsThere you go. Boom, boom. Just cool old strains that, you know, not many people talk about anymore.

BubblemanWell, they should be talking about it. My goodness, don't forget the old strains.

Archive SeedsWell, if they're all dead or not preserved, it's hard to know. It's like I always talk about, you know, a lot of the cannabis smoking population is between the ages of like 20 and 30, you know, not the majority of it, but a lot of like, you know, people who are very active, let's say. And, you know, if that's true, then every 10 years the populace changes to a certain degree.

Archive SeedsYou know, some people keep smoking, but a lot of people kind of fall off and You know, how's anybody going to, like, you know, I started smoking weed in like 2002, so how would I know what good weed in 1992 tastes like? Unless I had someone that's older than me, you know, show me what's up.

SpeakerYou want to take this one, Aaron? It tasted great.

Archive SeedsI'm sure it did. That's what I'm saying. I'm sure it was better, probably. It tasted great.

SpeakerYou know, it's funny because I'm meeting with one of the five guys that, Today, who's behind the whole OG Kush thing? There was a few henchmen. There was a dude named Josh D in Florida who passed the cut to this dude, Matt. And Matt brought it into California. And it was passed to another couple guys. Yeah, you know, the weed in 92 is great, bro. You know, and before that...

SpeakerThere was times where it was great and there was times where it was really seedy.

SpeakerYou know, and those times where it was really seedy, I have to say, that's where I grew my first plant. You know, with those seeds that flew out the window and ended up on the side of your house and then all of a sudden one of your friends is like, dude, you know you got like 20 ganja plants growing underneath your window? And you're like, no. I had no clue.

Etienne FontanThose were the very first plants, bro.

SpeakerYou're like, now I'm a grower. Olympian, bro.

BubblemanThat's how DNA got started, man.

SpeakerFrom those seeds. From those seeds I threw out the window.

Archive SeedsThat's the P1 stock right there.

SpeakerYeah, you know, it's funny because being in Amsterdam, you're friends with Arion and Dairy and all the different seed companies. And so I joke with Arion because he names like, he's got his own strain. He's got Arion, Hayes, 1, 2, 3, 4, maybe 5, I don't know how many. I go, is that how many seeds germinated, bro? All you got was 5? Arion, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5?

SpeakerAnd we just all start laughing. I got nothing but love for those guys. You know, we're all the same community and we're all trying to push... Push our industry more forward and yeah, much respect to all those guys. And everybody in our industry because there's enough room in this industry for all of us to row in the same boat because we got a whole world of people that we need to help.

Archive SeedsYep, that is for sure. Yeah, I find that interesting too. You know, I think in the kind of long-term things it's like, okay, so in the last 30 years we've kind of seen cannabis in the U.S. go from Mostly import market with very, you know, very little domestic produce to almost the complete opposite now 30 years later, right? All the money, or not all, but a lot, you know, California cannabis is a huge business.

Archive SeedsAnd so all these other countries around the world, a lot of them are still back in the import market or import days of their maturity of their marketplace. So every single country around the world I'm curious to see, you know, if everybody kind of has this, not the same cultural revolution with cannabis, but a similar type or whatever revolution they have. And I think we're seeing that in countries like Chile and stuff like that or Spain and Argentina.

Archive SeedsAnd not that they're behind or anything, it's just a different... You know, the culture moves with it and as it does, availability becomes more, more people become interested, the quality goes through the roof. I mean, like you're saying, you know, less than 20 years ago, or 20 years ago, you'd get good weed sometimes and you'd get shitty weed sometimes. I'm pretty sure you probably don't ever see shitty weed in terms of like How many people are showing you complete dirt nowadays?

Archive SeedsI doubt very many.

SpeakerI still see a lot of shit, bro. It might not be bricked up, but it's still in that same shitty position. I'm not going to smoke that.

Archive SeedsYeah, I agree with you there, but that's due to the cultivation. But still, it's like, those are buds. I mean, shit, 10 years ago, those were like $400 ounces, what we consider swag today, right? So it's just a comparative analysis of what the quality is, too.

SpeakerThe last time I saw some swag, like real swag, swag was about two and a half years ago, bro. Big 25-pound bale, dude. Yeah. I actually have a picture of it. I don't know. I might have posted it on Instagram a long time ago.

Archive SeedsIt was just walked in.

SpeakerMemory, bro. You can't forget, you know, never forget where you come from, bro.

Archive SeedsWhen I started, it was all D.C. butt, all beasters, all across the border, because I'm up here in Washington, right? So, I mean, this was like, you know, snowmobiles go over to Beyond Mount Baker and everybody's bringing it. I mean, you know, there was so much going across that whole area back then. Like, that was the majority of what was around. I mean, if you were found good herb, you knew, you obviously knew someone.

SpeakerLet's give thanks to the BC guys for getting us those better flowers than what we had here, you know, at the time. Shout out to you guys, bro, because without those, uh, Those travelers that came over here, we would have been smoking the Mexi Brickweed for a long time, man. I can't tell you how many I've seen.

BubblemanHow about this? How about shout out to the Americans who bought so much herb out of BC in those years that it was outproducing forestry?

SpeakerRight. Welcome, guys.

Archive SeedsYou're welcome. Thank you, and you're welcome. We know how to do one thing here in America, and that's spend money. I don't know about how much we make, especially if you look at our government, but we definitely know how to spend.

SpeakerThe more you make, the more you spend. That's true.

BubblemanThis is true.

Archive SeedsBut yeah, it's just kind of interesting to see the maturity of the marketplace happen so rapidly. I mean, I always think it's funny too with like BHO, it's like, shit man, three years ago, right, you were high tech if you had a crock pot with a vacuum pump, period, at all, like not even closed loop, nothing, you were like the man with just a crock pot. And I was like, you know, maybe a little over two years ago, maybe three, I mean, it's, you know.

Archive SeedsIt's just funny to see how fast they're changing.

SpeakerLet's go back 10 years ago, bro. Right. When the honeybee extractor came out, okay, it was this big. Then we all made them in Ampsham. We got our PVCs. We got little filters. We did it. Soma, all of us. No crock pot, no vac purge. No nothing. You know what I'm saying? And then what happened?

BubblemanDidn't Soma end up getting like a Yes.

SpeakerDrupal bypass.

BubblemanStop smoking oil. Yeah, he told me. He was like, I think it's all that butane. And I was like, oh.

Archive SeedsIt's that sun purge. You go put it out in the sun for like half a day and that shit will be like glass.

SpeakerIt was like It was pretty scary back in the days, Fletch. I remember doing it and we would take the torch and then hit the top after we put it on the hot water. We would hit it with the torch to get off any extra butane and whatnot. No more bubbles.

Archive SeedsThat was the goal. Oh man, yeah, I was right there with you, man. Like, Jeff, you know, they're all glass blowers from back in the day, Cannabis Reverend and all them. So, you know, fortunately, we've had access to glass tubes instead of the PVC ones, but still, man, same thing. Hit the torch on the top, and like, if it's really teeny, you get all the bubbles to like chain reaction burst.

Archive SeedsI just do it for fun. So I ended up not smoking all that oil, so I was just like, at a certain point, just playing around.

Archive SeedsIt was just, yeah, it's real interesting to see and, you know, I'm excited, especially with like Rosin, you know, when's someone going to have where you just throw a pound and a little hopper and out squirts, you know, your 100 gram slab, right?

SpeakerLike they have the orange juice machines, right? You know those orange juice machines that the oranges just fall into the slot and squeeze the shit out of the orange and the orange juice falls out? That's what we need for rosin, bro. We need a hot orange juice machine. Squeeze the button.

BubblemanI think Breeders Steve's on it if you check his Instagram.

SpeakerYeah, I know.

BubblemanHe's up to some shit.

Archive SeedsI mean, from a technical standpoint, I think a BHO extractor is a much more complicated piece of machinery, especially, Considering the danger that potentially making it wrong could pose to the user, then, you know, a rosin machine, I mean, from an engineering standpoint, I would think this is like easy for guys like that. Now, granted, I don't know how to manufacture stuff, but it seems like if those guys can make, you know, like Emotech and all those guys making those units, I don't see how this is much more difficult for them.

SpeakerI mean, I think they already got This stuff, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah. It's there. It's just you've got to find it and what it's being used for and then adapt it a little bit to being used for cannabis. Like Mark said, you can go to Breeders Steve's Instagram page and see some of the shit that he's up to. It's really cool because this guy is an OG in this industry, and one thing I liked about Breeders Steve is he's another very terpene-related breeder.

SpeakerHe's, you know, all about those flavonoids and those smells and those tastes. So, and he's been gone for, I don't know how many years, you know, five years now maybe, four or five years.

Archive SeedsYeah, I grew my fair share of Spice of Life seeds and to this day I wish I still had like ten packs of that Adventure Mix which was like his sweet tooth father mixed with all whatever females he had around and man, I got some straight killers and That especially yield and just, you know, like commercially extremely appealing herb.

Archive SeedsThe blue satellites, I grew the 1.1s and the 1.2s of those. Those were good too, just really unique. That blueberry sativa was very dominant. I mean, its characteristics were easily noticeable.

SpeakerI got, you know, one of their last breeding projects that they did, there was a, A guy named Sean working for Breeders Steve, and I had linked up with him in Canada when I was up there. And he did a blue satellite across OG. Yeah, the donk. Is that what it was called, the donk?

Archive SeedsIt was called the donk.

SpeakerYeah, I remember I was like, yeah, I got to get some of these seeds. Because, like, listen, I might be a DNA genetics, but I'm still a grower, bro. You know what I'm saying? I still collect seeds and... Like, God forbid if I, you know, had to run away and GeneXus was gone, I'd still need my bag of seeds, bro. You know? And I like varieties to spice a life, so...

BubblemanIf someone was the name of this company...

SpeakerExactly.

Archive SeedsSpice a life. Yeah, I mean, if... Yeah, I can't agree more. That's just what it is. You gotta have all the flavors. It's like collecting cards or something. Ha ha ha! Once you get hooked, you've got to just keep collecting. And if you can't, if you're not done collecting, you've got to start your own collection, like you're saying, from your own. If any, you know, anytime shows me, anyone shows me an awesome bag, you could tell me there's anything in it, right?

Archive SeedsAnything at all. Any strain. You could tell me it's the swaggest of the swag. If I really like the herb it came from, I want seeds from it. You know, the name means nothing when quality is there.

Archive SeedsWhere the fuck are you now, Tony?

Archive SeedsOn the PJ.

SpeakerHe's flying the plane. What do you think? Who knows where Tony's going is the real question. You know what I'm saying? Like, this guy is supposed to go to Spain. In Barcelona, he was going to end up in Madrid, like 700 kilometers away. But it looks like he's hitting... Do you want a bus, bro? I'm on a fucking bus. First off, anyone going to Petaluma stop, be called or connected.

SpeakerSomeone pick you up in Petaluma. Dude, I forgot my laptop. And on the plane, can you guys hear me? Yes. Did you just get off the plane, or are you getting on the bus?

SpeakerI guess there's no talking on the bus.

SpeakerHey, stop talking.

Etienne FontanHe got bussed, and he got bussed.

BubblemanHe's muted. He doesn't know he's muted. He's not muted. Oh, wow. Barely. Now you sound like your fingers over the mic.

SpeakerYeah, but this guy's talking, so hold on a second. The bus driver is talking about all kinds of stuff. He's got a Wi-Fi system aboard this bus and everything. I just want him to drive. Can you just tell him you're on Hash Church? I just want him to drive. Hey buddy, I'm recording. Could you drive the bus?

Etienne FontanBuddy, I got like 600 people around the world watching me right now. Come on, let's move this thing along. I've got things to do. Ash to talk about, buddy. Come on, Tricombs are waiting. Oh, here he comes.

SpeakerUh-oh, he's coming to you.

BubblemanHe knows you've got your headphones on. The wheels on the bus go round and round.

SpeakerOh, I know that song.

BubblemanAnyone with a kid between the ages of like one to six will know that song.

SpeakerDid you guys get to talk to Karen?

BubblemanNo, she wasn't able to get her mic to work.

Etienne FontanMic issue.

BubblemanI thought she would come right back in, but she never did. I hope that we can get her back in because I really want to hear from her.

SpeakerYeah, she went into remission a year and a half ago, metastatic breast cancer, liver, ovarian. She's got an amazing story. And her son, who's 17 at the time, convinced her to use cannabis. She tried everything. She tried everything else, and they gave her a few months, and here she is a couple years later. She's got her different This will be a really interesting story because she's, you know, she went into complete remission and then some of the numbers kind of went up a little bit and she kind of always stayed on the program a little bit, managed it a little bit.

SpeakerYou know, she never went under a certain limit, but when she tried to come off of it, we noticed the numbers would go back up, the cell count and everything. So she's been, you know, utilizing the program, utilizing the products and Saturated Grandocannabinoid System and controlling it, which is crazy. So that's what I tried. I think it's a good story because a lot of people, they always refer to it as a cure, and I don't like to use that term.

SpeakerIt's about keeping someone in a stable condition and utilizing and managing it. It kind of makes sense if you think about the... The endocannabinoid system, if it's malfunctioning and it's requiring a certain level of saturation like the first patient you had, I didn't know who it was, so I came in kind of right after she introduced who she was, so that's why I didn't know what to call her.

SpeakerI didn't know what her name was. Daughter? Was it a daughter? Not sure.

BubblemanOh yes, her daughter. Cheryl's daughter. Yeah.

SpeakerThat was 3,000 milligrams a day.

BubblemanYes, 3,000 milligrams. Correct. You cut out a little bit there. You're kind of frozen up.

SpeakerYeah. So, well, I'm on a bus to get to Santa Rosa, and then I'll get in a car with Ernie to then go another hour and a half to get to Ukiah.

BubblemanNice.

SpeakerYep. I don't have a helicopter like Aaron, but he's still on. Is he still on? I'm still here. Yeah. You're supposed to take a helicopter up to see me, right? I'll see you on the 7th if there's no fog. If there's no fog, huh? If there's fog, we're not flying. If there's no fog, we're flying. So... You know, it's interesting out here, there's like quite a bit of a water crisis, if you will, right?

SpeakerAnd has anyone not heard of rainwater harvesting or fog harvesting? Is this concept... I absolutely know a lot about it, especially fog harvesting for Jamaica in the mountains as critical. But I was looking at that whole region and I was asking myself, I'm like, how do they get this water to grow the cannabis? Because I couldn't see from the Google Maps enough, you know, detail. Thank you for joining us.

SpeakerInstallations, solar installations, types of engineered buildings so that it would create its own, basically off the grid, net zero or buildings that would generate its own power and put power back into the grid. And so we used to do cistern, you put these big cisterns out, you catch all the water. They do that in Jamaica. You charcoal it, you charcoal filter it. We use it as gray and potable water.

SpeakerBut there's a technology out here that's called like Fog Quest. And basically what it is is you can set up these big nets. They look like big, thick, tall volleyball nets, if you will, or like the nets that you see. If you did it big enough, you could do it like at a golf course, like when you're at a driving range with big nets. So what it is is little tiny squares, and it's this special kind of fabric.

SpeakerYou put two of them together, and what it does is it captures the fog as it passes through and converts it into water, and then it drips down the little ropes that are close together into a trough at the bottom, and then it collects into a reservoir, and then you can filter that. And essentially, you're able to capture water from the fog. I don't know why they're not doing it out here.

SpeakerThey're not doing it in a lot of places. They don't even understand the knowledge of tracking their... Their pseudo-precipitation in the fog can be able to get a calculation of how much will it produce. In a place like the mountains where that morning fog-sun relationship produces it every day as a guarantee, it's just a matter of government funding. People just are clueless to even go that deep, but it's just funny that you just jumped on and brought up something I've desired for five years.

SpeakerIt's that old, when I heard about it. There's even, even if you go to the deserts and you go to Afghanistan and places that are really, really hot, you'd be surprised. They create this, it's kind of a pool-like grid system. It looks like a... Looks like a diagonal grid that creates like a cylinder, but it's skinny at the bottom, wide, and skinny back at the top. And then there's another layer of this grid.

SpeakerKind of looks like ancient geometry, almost like kind of Flower of Life-ish, or, you know, kind of like utilizing ancient geometry with these patterns. You have an inside cylinder, an outside cylinder, and it creates like a, almost like egg shape on the inside. And then there's a hemp fabric, thin fabrics, kind of a hemp silky fabric they used to use. There's a combination of fabrics. And then that did the same thing, and then it would drop into a dish below and create water.

SpeakerSo you could like, you could set those up a lot of places. But it seems like the simplest things... We are not ever used until we're at the last resort. Just kind of like talking about cannabis. Oh, I've tried everything. I can't go on with life anymore. It's like five days later after taking some hash pills, everyone's life changes. Same concept here.

SpeakerI was just working on another project, on another application in another state where we're going to utilize...

BubblemanYour thumb's over your mic.

SpeakerSorry, can you hear me now? Very well, yes. Okay, so I was just on another project, on another application in another state where I'm not really at liberty to talk about it. But we have designed an entire solar station so that it's all greenhouses and all powered 100% solar. So it's going to be a lead platinum project cultivation. I thought it was pretty cool. So we're going to utilize geothermal, solar, recapturing water, things like that, rainwater harvesting, fog harvesting, You can even harvest it out of snow as well for those that are living in the north.

SpeakerDude, you've got to slow down. I'm tearing up. You don't understand. I understand exactly what you're designing, and I'm like, you can't just go and industrialize my dream home. You're killing me.

SpeakerWell, I'm trying not to kill you, bro. I'm trying to... Trying to bring two worlds together. That was like my world before. And I think that's the future. You've got to think of sustainable practices with zero carbon footprint on our impact. So when somebody says, oh, you're growing 100,000 square foot of greenhouses. Oh, my God. And then you're like, yeah, well, it has zero impact on the environment as well.

BubblemanEssential, especially with the water and the electricity. It was only about a few months ago that Tesla announced the Powerwall, and when I saw that, I was like, man, it would be so cool to build the project in Jamaica with solar power.

SpeakerYeah, that Powerwall is sick.

SpeakerI had visions of that a long, long time ago, of creating something like that, and it's just... I mean, it's just so much money and so much, so much involvement to try to even accomplish something like that. But he was smart because he went after a car first. And I think Tesla always, you know, that concept, but I think they always had plans for, you know, the future of power and how energy could be used.

SpeakerSo that's off to them. I mean, that's the future.

SpeakerAnother has been like in Vegas, the power company is saying there's not enough power for some of these giant grows that are going on. And what's been brought to my attention is you don't necessarily need to go from the power company. You can get natural gas turbines, you know, and natural gas is a lot cheaper than the power, so you can use natural gas turbines. Turbines to power your whole operation.

SpeakerIt might cost you more at the very beginning, but you'll make your money back and some as time permits. What do you know about those? I'm a fan of that. I think the natural gas generators are Are very effective and you're right, you're going to spend a little bit more money up front as opposed to like, you know, you go to a place, you go in Vegas and you want to do 4,000 lights when you need like a power plant just to do that.

SpeakerAnd so I'm not sure the capacity of the volts and how much they can grid together, but I do know that you could spend, you know, a million dollars on The best gas generator and you probably could get away with running, you know, I don't know, a few thousand lights for sure. But you have to look at the kilowatt, you know. So if the kilowatt is, you know, 22 cents kilowatt, whatever that would look like, and you're with natural gas going to get it to three cents, then it's only, you know, a matter of time before it pays itself off.

SpeakerIt might be two years, it might be five years. But it's definitely going to pay itself off. That's why I went with solar, just because it took it to the particular area was extremely high in electricity. So it was 30 cents, I think, a kilowatt. And then with solar, the grid is up, you could go up to 1,000 volts. And so when you're taking your lighting, and you could get like a 480 volt, and you could do a single wire to like a Cavita, Instead of the one that comes with double standard, and you could save a tremendous amount on your efficiency of how much you're using along with the power source.

SpeakerSo I think it's a combination of electrical engineering for your actual lighting into your grid system, whatever it would be. But in Vegas, I mean, there's so much sun out there, I don't know why people wouldn't want to do solar there, you know?

Archive SeedsI think part of the reason why they don't do solar in Vegas is because they get all their power from the Colorado River, right? It's true. The infrastructure is already there, so why spend the money? Now, granted, I think there are, I think, I was driving from Vegas to L.A., and I feel like I saw a solar system maybe like an hour outside. You do. Okay, that's right.

Archive SeedsBut that's probably just to power that little area right there. You know, the little group of casinos right there along the California border where all the outlet malls are and stuff. But, and then, yeah, the 480 volt, you know, considerably more efficient in a lot of ways. Granted, you need to have a setup large enough to, you know, require that efficiency, but I don't think that's the issue here, is it, Tony?

SpeakerNo, no. Anytime you get over 300 lights, that's when it gets really

Archive SeedsExactly. So, yeah, 480 volts, yeah, considerably more efficient. Use way less copper. And the lights run more efficiently as well. They run at a cooler temperature. Yep. Not the bulb itself, but the actual ballast. Right.

SpeakerSo what were you guys talking about before I joined back in?

BubblemanHard to remember, Tony. I mean, we were taking dabs.

Archive SeedsTony.

BubblemanWe were talking about land races and Hermes. We were talking about... Hash. Hash.

SpeakerAll the fun stuff.

BubblemanRemember that time Aaron said on Hash Church he pisses in his reservoir? Oh, yeah. Here we go.

SpeakerMicronutrients. That's totally... My 300 milliliters of piss, bro, I really hate that, you know, 50 gallons.

BubblemanThe guy behind Tony's taking notes, apparently.

SpeakerWhat's up? What are you saying?

BubblemanI'm just reading things that people say in chat. OG Brick said that about Aaron's thing, and then Red Lion just said the guy behind you is taking notes.

Archive SeedsThat's what makes it DNA genetics, right? You know, a little bit in every reservoir.

SpeakerSo, every seed, bro. Every seed. Has a little bit in. DNA, bro. Yeah. So I had an interesting conversation with a mutual friend of ours, a bubble man's friend, about the Madagascar seeds he collected on the side of the volcano. Did you hear that story?

BubblemanNo, you cut out a little bit there, but you're talking about getting energy from below, just from beside a volcano, correct? Correct.

SpeakerYeah, and they take a 90 day germination period because they've developed an evolutionary trait that allows them to float down the water and stay water submerged for 90 days before it needs to germinate. No, I didn't hear about that. I thought that was pretty cool. I didn't hear about that at all. Interesting.

Archive SeedsThat sounds super cool. I mean, earlier, Tony, I was talking about, do you know about the ABC?

Etienne FontanYes, so...

Archive SeedsWell, Madagascar, just like Papua New Guinea, is an extremely unique island in terms of its evolution and the species that live on it that are very unique to it. Madagascar and Papua New Guinea. So it's interesting to hear that there would be another potentially evolutionary different yet same species plant as cannabis, right?

SpeakerSo let's go. It's got 90 days. I'm on a bus going about.

SpeakerKind of broke up a little bit. I'm on a bus that's about four miles an hour. Can you guys still hear me? Yes. I'll tell you.

BubblemanWe can still see you. Good. We can hear you.

SpeakerYou can hear me?

BubblemanYes.

SpeakerOkay. So you know Daryl, right? Our mutual friend? Yes. From Canada? Yeah. So he was telling me the story about this Madagascar strain that they went on a hunt and that they found some villagers that talked about cannabis and they said, yeah, this is where it's at. You have to go on this crazy adventure and go on the side of this By the side of this volcano.

SpeakerAnd when he got there, he couldn't even recognize where it was because it was growing like a vine almost. And on all the vines and all the stems and all the leaves, it had crazy trichomes and had these little, little, little tiny seeds, little pods. And he found it and then, you know, tried to germinate it. And he said, like, you know, nothing would germinate. And then he just left it, you know, wet.

SpeakerYou know, moist environment, and he said it took 90 days to actually germinate, and it kind of puzzled them for a while, and they were thinking about it, and what would have caused it, and they started looking at the map, and they started looking at Madagascar and the area, and realized that over shit, maybe thousands, if not millions of years, the, maybe not quite millions of years, but definitely, definitely 5,000 plus, that the strain had Thank you for watching.

Archive SeedsHave they bred with that and seen the same thing in the progeny?

SpeakerI mean, I don't know. Bubble Man knows him a lot better than I do. He told me that he's been breeding with it, trying to do different things with it. So he was working on creating a new strain that was more for just surface area of trichome. So he was trying to take that... Thank you for watching.

Archive SeedsJust wait, you'll get your harvest, it'll just be like, you know, six or eight months from now.

BubblemanDude, nine days if you know what you're doing, man.

Archive SeedsInstead of giving people flowering times, you give them veg times now, right? You're like, six months veg, two months of flower.

SpeakerYou gotta water a pot that you don't see anything in for three months. Right, right.

Archive SeedsYou gotta give it a little, you know.

SpeakerIt's mean that you guys are laughing because I think about all the things that the seed packet says, submerge all winter, then open, and then plant. And I'm like, okay, yeah, I can deal. And you guys are worried about the amount of things that, yeah, I have to water for 90 days, see nothing. And then I'm like, look, I think I see something coming out of the green moss.

SpeakerI think he said it was 90 day germination and like 120 days straight for like an ounce. Like something. It was like nothing.

Archive SeedsI've also seen a delayed germination just from old seeds, Tony, too. I've seen stuff pop like a month, but not three months. Yeah, that's what he said.

SpeakerThat's what he said. Sometimes you can see it go to a month, but they just couldn't believe it. And then... Yeah, so we were just, Will and I, I don't know if you guys don't know Will, who's been hanging out with me. He's got his PhD in biology and microbiology from John Hopkins and is with the United Cannabis Team. And he's actually, he's actually been, he does a lot of different R&D stuff, but he's cultivating with LED lights, so we're kind of back on that subject and just trying to, you know, talk about spectrum and how the light spectrum Directly affects that cannabinoid profile and the terpene profile.

SpeakerAnd I think we're going to try to do some organic aeroponics with the LED to try to get it over that pound and a half mark to see if we could, as soon as you can crush over a pound and a half in LED, it might be something to start to consider. But, you know, I just haven't seen any tremendous yields. I didn't know what, What happened with John and his adventures if he's sold on it or what's his deal?

SpeakerWhen I was in Canada, I don't know, months ago, I was in a room that had pretty much all high pressure sodium lights and then in one area of the room it was LEDs. And I have to say that the LEDs were, there were more flowers being produced off the LED and more weight on the LED side than there was on the other side of the room.

SpeakerBut I wasn't there at the very end, so I can't tell you how we really finished. But just from the looks of it, it looked like the LEDs were ahead. I can pretty much... I'm in week, like, sorry, Tony, week seven of... A flower with the LEDs and they're killing it. I'm now looking at the yield part of it. First time I did the six plants and now I'm happy with it.

SpeakerI'm definitely very happy with it. Taking the AC out. My heater has come on twice this week because it's gone under 75 degrees in that room. So that's kind of funny. And I'm in the middle of summer. So, healthy plants, they're doing really good, and I want to see what I'm going to get off of the 800 watts, but I can already tell you, just by looking at it, I'm going to get what I'm, I'll be very happy with it.

Archive SeedsThat's awesome.

SpeakerI don't know what it's going to be, but I mean, I'm... After eight years of playing with these LEDs with Green Planet and PNW and stuff like that, this one here, it's working. It's just like bubble bags. They work. Certain things work. This light, it's working. It's getting what I need. So let me ask you something, Aaron. When you said there's more flowers, does that mean it diversifies and it splits?

SpeakerWhat do you mean by that? I really meant it looked like it was yielding more. Oh, okay. Not an actual more little individual buds. No, no, no. Okay. It didn't change like, you know, the...

Archive SeedsIt didn't change into a triploid or something like that all of a sudden because the... Was there a difference in wattage usage between the LED room and the... Because that's what I see with most people is I understand the, you know, the main point of the LED I thought was to use half the wattage, right? But most people... To get enough coverage on a 4x4 table, they need like two 450 watt LED things.

Archive SeedsAnd it's kind of like, well, where's the power sink? It's building the same. Why do I want to pay $1,500?

SpeakerThat's a better spectrum, Fletch, is what they're saying. Yeah. The spectrum's better for growing plants. Well, is it better for plant or is it better for residue? Right. Resin testing now? Now I'm drying those plants for three months, four months. The Barbara, the Congolese, the resin was definitely different. With the Barbara I got like one gram off the HPS. All of the LED, I got three. Now with the cushions, it was the other way around where I got more resin off of the HPS with the cushions and less off the LED.

SpeakerSo I found it very interesting. That was just the first process, right? It's turned into a project. We'll see how that's going to work out. Remo's cushions right now is doing very well, but I'm curious on what I'm going to get with that from the SIFT-wise. So... I've seen a difference with those hybrids and sativas. I got more resin. Maybe it's because I was getting more light to those areas.

SpeakerWell, I wonder if you're speeding up the process in the sativa category with the LEDs since they take usually a lot longer and maybe the LEDs is a better, I guess you'd say, delivery method of that spectrum in exactly what it would do to get those heads I don't know. That's interesting. That's interesting. So you're getting, because usually, you said sift or you said in water, in bubble, that you got more on sativa than the kush.

SpeakerJohn? You might have frozen out there, Tony. He was saying sift. Huh. Huh. And have you... It's just what I witnessed with the kushes. When I sift the Medi Kush, I get less rosin with the Medi Kush. I get less sift with the Medi Kush with the LED, but with the HPS I got more. I was more happier rosining the Medi Kush HPS than I was with the LED.

SpeakerWith the other strains, it was the other way around. With Sativas and the hybrids, I got a lot more resin. From the sifting, I did the little video on it at the end, just because what I was seeing, it was just like, okay, so, next step, it's, you know, I'm just trying the bulbs, so it's just something new that I'm seeing with it, right? So it's, I'm talking with another guy that's running 19 of them against 25 HPSs, and he's seeing the same type of scenario with his cushers.

SpeakerThey're not getting as big as what he wanted them to, but the sativas that are on the side are doing very well, so. We're just starting with that. Yeah, what's the spectrum on that? Because that makes me think about where, like, say the cushions and indicas would grow in a higher elevation, a little colder temperature, and the way their leaf is being short and fat, maybe they're absorbing that light spectrum differently than the way the sativas are.

SpeakerWhat's the spectrum that you're using? Tony, that's one thing you're talking about, Tony. Like, are you talking about a real Kush, or are you talking about, like, an OG? Um, I'm talking about a Kush that he's talking about. His Kush. Medi Kush would be more of an OG, right, John? More of a Bubba Kush, I would say. More of an Afghani. More of an Afghani. Afghani, yeah.

SpeakerHighlands. And now that I've added the UV, now that I'm using the clean light every day, I'm seeing, I'm getting really good development with the cushions this time around, to be honest. You weren't using UV before. No, I wasn't using the clean light before. I used the clean light every day. Okay, because, all right, so OGs and cushions, if you put them in a greenhouse and you use the plastic, they're, without the UV light, and this happens a lot in greenhouses to strains, The UV is a light that offers the plant itself a better protection against powdery mildew and diseases, especially PM.

SpeakerSo I'm wondering if the UV, maybe it needed that supplemental light because of the genetics and being Afghani trade or whatever, that allowed it to be a little healthier, maybe allowed it to develop a little better.

SpeakerOnce again, first time on this and I'm seeing it, so I am documenting what I'm seeing and it's, you know, to move forward with it because there's certain things I'm seeing. I mean, if I can use the LEDs with the UV and put the clean light and I'm saving in power everything and I'm getting more, right? So it's process. I want to see how it's going to work out.

SpeakerI really would like to see some more. I know Horatio, he played with the LEDs and what he's doing with them right now. Tony, the answer to the sativa indica flip has to do with light penetration limitations. If you were to prune out the excessive broadleaf drug cultivar down to something that allowed an equal light penetration to something that's more of a sativa growth, the LED does perform equally.

SpeakerIt's when the growth of the plant is allowed to... You could canopy out that then the LED produces such a bad stratification of growth where you end up with more larv, but if you actually pruned it to take the shape of a more sativa plant, you would be able to stabilize your growth out. Well, I think that's fabulous. Man, I wish I lived in a house so I could do what you're doing.

SpeakerI'd love to kind of experiment with that. That's cool.

SpeakerYou know, there's some strains that don't like a lot of light too. That actually do better in the corners of the rooms or on the side of the rooms. So light intensity I think plays a role in all of this also. Yeah, I started, you know, a lot of this, it's kind of a shade plant as it is. And then I saw someone's grow the other day where they were telling me they were using a lot of Gavitas.

SpeakerAnd they were trying the five foot range, three foot range, different ranges. And on the Girl Scout cookies, if you got within two and a half, like within the two and a half to three foot from the tops, the intensity of the light would sporadically cause it to hermaphrodite. It would create like bananas that would, they're dry socket bananas. But super light intensity could actually cause the plant to freak out too.

SpeakerYeah, absolutely. So, that's pretty cool though. I like the LED concept because you can do it in your home without any heat problems. You don't have any, you know, that's like the hardest thing when you're in your house and you're trying to control it. I took over my AC unit and my dehumidifiers and I'm in the middle of the hot summer. Three lights. I love that. That's probably the best thing I've done in growing since 1988.

SpeakerIt's like, come on. Now I've got Yorosh's attention. He's been listening. I've got my scientist's attention. You've been growing. What's your lights that you use? California Lightworks, Solar Storm. There's a bunch of different models. There's a 220 watt unit. There's a 440 watt unit. And there's an 880 now. Those are pretty powerful, but they're also really expensive. Another one I would consider is go online on Alibaba Express and look up the Mars 2 unit.

SpeakerThey're the same as the Black Dog LED units. Basically, what you need to look for, though, are 5 or 6 watt diodes, not chips, so you can get that intensity. And I'm getting like 70,000 lumens, which is all PARP. About a foot and a half away from the lamp. And that's on all the units. The power just determines how big of a unit you have and how big your spotlight is.

SpeakerWhat's the light spread? I have a whole bunch of smaller units spaced out. He asked what your light spread was. Right now, because of the situation I'm in, I have one light per plant. And I'm trying to scrog them out as much as possible so they're using the spotlight. You're using 800 though, right? They're getting way too much light. Too much light. Well, not too much light.

SpeakerI'm wasting a lot on the scatter, but my larv is going to be a little bit bigger because of it because I'm using a tent. So I'm recovering a lot of that light.

JohnnyOkay.

SpeakerYou guys got all that? User. You're at like 2,000 minutes. Yeah, that was great. Nice knowledge drop. Thank you. Yeah, he's been trying to talk to me. I'm going to take off. I've got some transplanting to do. It's kind of overcast, so it's a good time for me to go to work outside. Thanks for coming in, Aaron. This one's got to get transplanted. Thanks for having me again, you guys.

SpeakerYeah, John, transplant her, or else she's going to keep pre-flowering on you. I'm doing it right after we get off of house church. It's being transplanted. You guys have a blessed Sunday. Thank you for having me. Get smart. Have a good chat. Peace out. Yeah, Matt. Vancouver Seabank says what's up. Oh, what up, VSB? Peace. See you. Got it. Got the VSB shout out. The last time I was on a bus, I think I was maybe ninth grade, right when I got my driver's license.

BubblemanDude, what about the bus ride we did in Jamaica where we all thought perished? I was going to say, wasn't it Jamaica?

SpeakerOkay, yeah, my last bus drive was Jamaica where you and I almost lost it and actually had to get off the bus.

SpeakerYeah. Yeah, that was the scariest, that might have been the scariest bus drive we've ever been on because this bus was probably built in 81. Maybe 78, 81, maybe 82, somewhere in there. And it was like everything was built with heavy-duty metal rods and like vinyl seating. And the bus driver was like hauling ass through the mountains of Jamaica, slamming on his brakes, speeding up. And it was just like oncoming like cars left and right every two seconds.

SpeakerLike the whole bus was rocking. This guy was like just slamming on his brakes into turns.

SpeakerHow close were we to the mountain? The mountain was, if you stuck your hand out, you would have got your hand chopped off. You would have got your hand chopped off. On the right side, I held out your, remember I had your camera on the bar and I was like holding it out and pulling it back in and holding it out.

BubblemanOh, I remember, dude. That's scary shit. So be happy. Your bus ride looks super nice. Yeah, it is. Look it. I don't know if you guys can see this. Can you see that?

BubblemanIs that the Pacific Ocean?

SpeakerIt's the Golden Gate Bridge.

BubblemanIt's on the Golden Gate Bridge.

SpeakerBeautiful, man. You are on the Golden Gate. Yeah, only two and a half hours to get to the Golden Gate from the airport. Jesus. I'll get to Ukiah tomorrow at some point. This point.

SpeakerLook at my dog.

BubblemanAlright, I wasn't expecting that. You weren't expecting that? Not just right on the seat next to him. Can you give me a high five? Can you give the whole world a high five? Give him a high five. Yeah! Give him a high five. Come on, you did it.

KarenDid you see her do it?

BubblemanAh, yes. Yep.

SpeakerGive her a high five.

BubblemanShe's licking her lip like she's going to get a treat. Look, there it is. It's a high five right there. Are you guys still on the Golden Gate Bridge?

SpeakerOh, yeah. So I realize what's going on. There's a, looks like a series of accidents on the bridge. Tow trucks and stuff up here.

SpeakerAt least it's not an earthquake.

BubblemanDo they drive you right to the top of the bridge and then stop you?

SpeakerYeah. There's a lot of action up here. I hear that they paint this bridge continually. They just start on one end and they start painting. And then once they make it to the other side, they start painting the other direction. Is that true?

BubblemanThat is true.

SpeakerThat happens, yes.

BubblemanThese guys are like, in Cali, they're like, I will answer the Golden Gate Bridge questions.

Etienne FontanGood news. I live in the Bay Area, so yeah, they literally start one end and go to the other. I mean, they were doing the same thing on the previous ban of the heat to Bay Bridge as well because, you know, you're talking salt seawater all the time, so.

BubblemanAnd do you carry the, what's that?

SpeakerWe've been going exactly four miles an hour the entire time from the airport because of this.

DarrenWhat is it?

SpeakerOur bus doesn't want to pass. It's a tow truck with a motorcycle on the back of it.

BubblemanWhat is this?

Archive SeedsI feel like this is the scariest thing imaginable, being on a bus, driving that slow on the Golden Gate Bridge. It's like a video game. I'm scared for Tony if he's not scared.

Etienne FontanIt's like every disaster movie ever has the Golden Gate being destroyed.

SpeakerYeah, here we go, here we go.

Etienne FontanThat's holding everything up.

SpeakerThat was it. A tow truck with a motorcycle going four miles an hour. That was the entire hold up all the way back to the airport.

DarrenAll the way back to the airport.

SpeakerI'm not kidding. I'm not even kidding you. It was one in. Flying to Oakland next time.

Etienne FontanIt's much faster and cheaper.

BubblemanYeah, flying to Oakland, bro. Get some Bizarre Brothers brain taffy and fucking be on your way.

SpeakerYeah, why didn't I? Why didn't we fly to Oakland? Why didn't we fly to San Francisco? See, this is, I gave up booking the tickets for obvious reasons, but, and I can't really complain because I, I mean, I made it to the general vicinity of, of the area and state in which I needed to be, but I definitely wouldn't have chose to leave Denver at 7.30 in the morning and get up at 5 a.m., you know, I would have rather just like fly closer to the, maybe just, Fly right into Oakland.

SpeakerI guess that would have been closer. Dude, is this your Madrid, Barcelona gaffe again? I thought you were heading north when you said Santa Rosa. I can't believe you're heading south. What do you mean? Well, you said you landed in Santa Rosa. No, no, no. I landed in San Francisco trying to get to Santa Rosa just to meet Ernie to then get in a car just to get to... Let's check you make a pesto panini.

SpeakerOh, yeah. In about three hours, we'll be able to eat that panini. Tell them we just got through the bridge.

SpeakerBernie picked me up a panini. He thought I was going to eat it, like, you know, in 15 minutes. He's buying it now. He's just buying it now? Yeah.

KarenOkay. Well, I'll definitely eat it as soon as I see it.

SpeakerThere we go. Look at this. This is beautiful.

DarrenI don't know if you can see that.

BubblemanLooks good. Trying to welcome Cheryl back, but she's having a heck of a time. Are you there, Cheryl?

SpeakerSo, I know the demo's been done on this building, and this processing, processing as the Canadians say it, processing, processing, right?

SpeakerAmericans say processing. Canadians say processing.

SpeakerRight? We're professionals. We're not professionals.

BubblemanIn the States, you're professional.

SpeakerProfessional. Professional. But, no, I got a home for you, Horatio and Bubble Man. And I believe you were talking about the Bizarre Brothers and the belts, DNA earlier. So that's kind of the whole point of this building. Apparently there's two buildings, and Ernie's been here with the whole crew getting the buildings ready, the facilities ready. All the walls have been spray-killed already. All the carpets have been removed.

SpeakerA little transformation happening.

BubblemanForward motion.

SpeakerHas LHO ever hit the California scene before? Somehow, yeah. It made a mystical trip at the end of Secret Cup that got down to California. It somehow got to you in San Francisco. It got to Denver. And yeah, this magical parcel of slab I couldn't take home made an amazing journey to a lot of people.

BubblemanBut never commercially, that was just a unique sort of special, special.

SpeakerYeah, no, nobody in America is ready yet. Has anyone tried to copy your style and do limonene extractions without cleaning it first? Yes, absolutely. There is. That was my biggest issue when I first came out with everyone going through that. Tell us everything. I would get these private messages from more chemistry-like students who understood the basic principles and became attractive, but they all disappeared. There's one in California that I could tell by the consistency in the pictures and the fact all the names were citrified.

SpeakerThank you for watching.

SpeakerI just don't know.

BubblemanTime for raws and dabs. Raws and dabs on the bus. All right, Tony, pull out the mothership and show us what's real. All right.

SpeakerOh, my God. I wish. Well, I wish.

BubblemanIs there a bigger torch than the torch I roll with in Jamaica? No, no.

SpeakerThere is, I think you have to have a special license, and it's a backpack version of what you had.

BubblemanJesus. That's dangerous. I damn near killed myself just with the one I had. I can't be a backpack one. That's like some Steve Bates shit.

SpeakerI have a question for you, Bubble Man, since we're getting closer to... Jamaica, but there's other things moving, getting closer in the United States. Have you ever had your own hash sold in a medical commercial market yet?

BubblemanNo, never before. I never have.

SpeakerNot since you started?

BubblemanNo, not since I started. It was never... It just, you know, it's not like I didn't want to. It was just, I felt like it wasn't the best way for me to help medical patients or even recreational patients at the time, 15 to 20 years ago, because how I got into making the bubble bags and starting that company was after years of helping the BC Compassion Club and then finally getting busted at a roadblock with 16 and a half pounds and a bunch of cash.

BubblemanAnd being like, oh, like felony charges and hey, what's, you know, now it's kind of like, my wife was like, do you think you could do something different? And so I started bubble bags. I thought, well, if I could show people how to make water hash, that's helping people. You know, and now it's gotten to the point where now you can, you know, now there are people on the market with their brands of water extraction stuff and it sort of makes me feel like, I want to do that and show the world a particular level of quality, which is what I would think people would associate my brand with.

BubblemanBecause I've kind of been OCD for a lot of years just about even the quality of my product, to make the hash in the first place, the quality of my photographs. I just have a level of OCD where I want everything to be the highest quality that it can be.

SpeakerYeah, and I think that's where a lot of people, you know, they've asked me about the recent shifts or changes, you know, with River Rock or different things, and, you know, for me, I wanted to get with my band of brothers, if you will, that all shared like-minded quality levels, and I wanted to put the quality and patience first, not that they're not doing that, but I just wanted to make sure that we focused in on what we were doing best.

SpeakerSo I'm super excited about what we're about to launch and do with Blue River, but more or less the same kind of concept in Vegas and in California and Jamaica, which is putting the The Wolfpack together and putting the house of extracts or house of concentrates in one spot and then being able to process resin products at a very, very, very high level on a very commercialized level at the same time.

SpeakerUltimately, you have to find that medium. You have to find out how can you make the highest quality product so everybody can access it so it's reasonable. You know, and it's valued at what it's worth, you know. And a lot of people with this cannoli bill in the tribes, we started that a year ago, they were really scared. They thought we were going to just come in and we were just going to grow more cannabis than the Emerald Tribe could and we were going to take everybody out of business.

SpeakerAnd I kept trying to tell everybody, I was like, you know, you've got to be a little bit more patient and kind of put Take a step back and think, that would take a lot of balls and it would take a lot of arrogance to try to come into the Emerald Triangle and say, okay, we're going to just grow more than anyone, which is not even possible.

SpeakerSo, we just wanted to put up a few greenhouses or some outdoors so we could actually have some product to resin that was on some form of a consistent basis for the Prana products and, you know, The cool thing about this, which is I'm really excited, is that we'll be able to work with local farmers exactly the same way we were talking about doing in Jamaica. So anyone that's in the Emerald Triangle area or California that wants to have their organic flowers processed into resident products and distributed back to collectives, That's also another thing that we're doing.

SpeakerAnd I don't think that's ever really been done before in California or anywhere in California on a legal aspect. That's the most important thing. So hopefully now people are getting it and they respect what we're trying to do. And just super excited to finally get this thing going. There's been crews already here for like weeks or so. Just trying to get back out there, you know.

BubblemanWell, it's good to see the project forwarding. People are talking about it in chat. They're asking if those pictures that you posted recently are in regards to that place that you're going to right now.

SpeakerYep, it is. That was a week ago. So now the irrigation's in, and we've got, you know, there's been greenhouses with like six-foot plants that have been on standby with... That are going into 400-gallon geopods, all organic, super soil. And there's our buddy that Ernie's known for like maybe 28 years with MTG Seeds. That's why I was tagging them because they're the second generation in this area, the Emerald Triangle guys.

SpeakerAnd he's got a lot of really cool CBD strains as well as, you know, Presidential Kush and Godfather Kush that was featured in High Times and stuff. And then, of course, we've got a whole lineup of DNA and DNA genetics and they're going to get there.

BubblemanAre you talking about Django?

SpeakerI'm talking about Django, yeah.

BubblemanYeah, okay, right on.

SpeakerYeah, he's... You know, like, I think he's gone through a lot of different shit as well in the last couple years, but he had a little bit of a scare. He had a little bit of a scare with all the stress that was going out here. He had kind of a mild stroke, and this was like, I think a year ago, and basically had a wake-up call.

SpeakerAnd, you know, thank God he's got a lot of CBD material and You know, he's got the CBD candy coach, he's got the CBD diesel, the turbo diesel, and I've been visiting him and, you know, trying some of his extracts that he's got with Vern Phillips. I'm sure you guys all know who he is. He's got, you know, man, let me tell you, his CBD extract with Vern is unbelievable.

SpeakerIt's absolutely unbelievable. It's really good. But yeah, so Django's out there. And then, you know, we're setting up with DNA Genetics. And they're going to actually have a home and a launch. And I'm super excited about that too. So we're just working everything out. And then eventually we're going to have, you know, we're talking about having basically a genetics clone bar in that area. So same thing we're talking about doing in Jamaica, we're just going to have a plethora of different kinds of genetics and strains to be able to get out to the farmers and everybody.

SpeakerBecause ultimately you want to give them the strains that you want to extract. You know, if you have a Gorilla 4 and it's pulling 30% THC and 20% yields, and somebody has like a Gorilla 11 or a different type of Gorilla Glue and it doesn't pull the same, wouldn't you want to give that strain to that person too? Cultivate that out so when they come back to you and they're like, hey, look what I've harvested.

SpeakerYou process that into rosin or full melt or dry sift. And they trust your process, they trust your brand. They either want to have their own products or they want to put their product into your products. So, you know, that's like ultimately what we've been striving for this entire time. It's finally happening.

SpeakerAnd I've got my farm dog with me.

BubblemanAnd you got your farm dog with you. Awesome.

SpeakerShe's a character, dude.

BubblemanI'm going in to shoot a photo.

BubblemanWe're going to shoot it. Shooting some rosin.

BubblemanI can get my popcorn.

BubblemanI might need to go change the batteries though, I might not have enough.

SpeakerSo what do you think Horatio?

SpeakerI think the amount of things that have nothing to do with I guess extracting LHO that I'm interested in make the whole Wolfpack, it's just crazy because it's everything else I did before LHO. And LHO was a cheaper, more efficient development plan than what I had in mind. But the reason why I'd be really stoked is because of how many levels it puts together and how many interactions we get to do, even just being able to reform the tribal land to be more efficient by setting the example of the greenhouses we put in.

SpeakerIt allows them to parrot it and do that with any of their crop productions and the other things they're doing. But... It's all levels. This is one of those potential history book things where, you know, unique individuals come together at a time in history where there's never been something done like this. So, you know, we're stoked. We're completely stoked. I mean, I know what it means. Yeah, I mean, a lot of people like they, on the outside, I think, you know, especially when you're maybe on the shareholder side and you're not, In the industry, and you looked at our company, and you're like, oh, maybe it's a company that invested or not, and they did or they didn't, and you're like, wonder why something like that might take a long, long time, or anything, and that's, every time we come together in any project, that's the first thing, like I always say, is look, every territory's different, every project's different, and the most, most single, most important thing you can do is prepare yourself for Above board transparency, compliance, ordinances, follow the rules.

SpeakerIf there isn't rules, create rules, create accountability, and demonstrate to local officials and lawmakers and live by that example. Because if you create a scenario and then you take advantage of that scenario, then shame on you. There's no...

SpeakerRay, it's either white or black, especially when you're at this level. So it took a little bit longer than we wanted to from the last release that we did, but I feel confident and comfortable in what we're doing now. So once I get out there, we've got a little bit more work to do, and we're going to start to see a wave of prana out there, and then, you know, it's going to be like Red Rover, Red Rover.

SpeakerStart sending Horatio right over. Start sending Bubble Man right over.

SpeakerThat's the most exciting part. I want to get everybody in the same roof, because we've all done really good things individually, but I can't even imagine what's going to happen when everybody's working together. Well, it's that thing you can't calculate. Synergy is incalculable, and that's why they don't think it exists. But, I mean, even Hash Church is a synergy that all the people that seem to show up play a part in this unique future of potential to create the unimaginable.

SpeakerI mean, even your shareholders can't look at it and say, you know, we're securing the potentials to bring LHO to California. It's a unique... It's a product that hasn't been able to be reproduced in the two years it's existed. And it's a unique product in the market that everybody can get a foothold in and everyone will want, even if it's a duplicate of the same strain in a traditional hydrocarbon extract.

SpeakerSo there are a lot of big things that won't really show their business smarts until we're on the other end.

Etienne FontanWell, on top of that, I can't wait for the patients to get access to it as well because I'm hearing of its beneficialness through you all. So, I mean, it just excites me that we'll have, you know, more consistent, accessible medicine that the patients will have access to because more than anything, consistency is more, you know, Cheryl spoke to it earlier with her daughter. It's the most important thing is to have consistency because if that consistency is inconsistent, That's really the key and that's honestly why I did, that's why I branched off and, you know, kind of out through the River Rock situation and just have the center.

Etienne FontanIt's about bandwidth and I care about creating a consistent product.

SpeakerAnd then putting a service behind that product, especially with the Act Now service. And I feel like it got to a good start. And then I saw some walls being on the center side and saw how much time it was taking both to have to run three or four businesses in one. And that's like ultimately what Colorado did with vertical integration was they forced you to wear three or four hats, which is really hard.

SpeakerAnd then, you know, we don't talk about this much, but, you know, once they went recreational and you started distributing to the general public, 21 and up, then they started really applying 280E really hardcore. So now you don't have a non-profit organization, you have a for-profit that they can apply 280E, which is you can only write off cost of goods and then since you're vertically integrated, anything past the manufacturing All of your staff and your managers and your packaging and your marketing and all that stuff is considered a capital gains.

SpeakerSo they've kind of put their thumb right on you and they hold you down until it changes to a schedule too. It's literally impossible to make profit in that sector. And everyone thinks that everyone's making a lot of money in Colorado and I think there's a lot of new blood that's come into the market and they're under this like mirage of fantasy that it's like, you know, it's raining nuggets from the sky.

SpeakerAnd they haven't been in the game long enough to understand how those taxes work and how the IRS works and it's a lot of stress to try to provide a consistent product to patients. And so that's why I stepped to the side and say, okay, I'm going to, you know, do at least 36,000 square foot of greenhouse all for whole plant processing, all directly into products and be able to distribute that statewide.

SpeakerAnd so some people maybe took that the wrong way or thought I sold out.

Etienne FontanI took zero money.

SpeakerZero. Not a dollar. Zero. It took zero money to do this. Walked away, said, I'll take some of the licenses, and that's it. There's no money, there's no sellout, there's no bailout, because there is no money. It's just about taking your licenses, go hang your hat somewhere, go do what you do really, really well, and try to provide for that. And so that stress is gone now, and we're underway with that, and that's what we're doing here in California.

SpeakerWhen I see you at your center, or your collective, you know, I'd love to be able to go in there, you know, I may take my time, but when I finally get there, it's not like, hey, here's the first run of a product on your shelf to sell out of. Here's your first, here's how we can stock you, here's your restocking dates, here's what you should expect from the program, here's the, here's the There's a new dedicated Calhack Now website.

SpeakerThere's OTC programs, patient forums, science journals, physician training, collective training, product specialists, product spec sheets. That's what I'm putting together now and developing so that way you're not just selling capsules and sublinguals. There's actually a service and a patient care program behind it with multiple doctors and physicians that can oversee that. And some people like doctors and some people don't like doctors. So I think people should have the option.

SpeakerSo, you know, if you're opiate dependent, terminal cancer, have a parent with a daughter that has 100 plus seizures a day, you're running out of options, I think you should probably see a doctor that's pro-cannabis and understands how to use this matrix of products and can help you and follow up with you every two weeks like we're doing right now. And there are some patients that have IBS or Crohn's, can't sleep.

SpeakerAnd they just want to know what's working the best for the other hundred people like me out there. And they need to have a starting point. Maybe they don't want to go through the whole program and go through the doctors. And that's okay, too. And that's the over-the-counter sequencing charts and developing those types of things. So I feel very confident and Strong that like once this all kind of comes together and I'm able to present it to you, I think you're going to be super stoked.

SpeakerAnd I think your collective will and your patients will as well. So, and I just want to be that, on the consistent side, I just want to be that provider every time. You know, it's like, hey, I need to have a re-up on Monday, not two weeks from Monday, not three weeks from that day, and be able to offer you more than just that. Say, you know, there's a catalog here.

SpeakerYou want Bubble Man's dry cyst, Full Melt, you want Trichome Heavy, you want LHO, you want Live Resin, you want genetics, you want through and through branded products, DNA, you know, it'll all be there. And it just takes a long time to put it all together.

Etienne FontanOn top of that, my patients, and I open up my patient base to, you know, study, so with your doctors would be happy to do Thank you so much for joining us today.

Etienne FontanHey, Capitol Hill, so that we can actually have a couple of lobbyists on the hill that are actually talking things and making things go with air. And the aspect of your medicine, I mean, our patients have been waiting. I mean, they're not on top of that, you know, beyond excited to have access because ratio, people are hearing here and they're coming to me and they're saying, hey, where is this lemony?

Etienne FontanAnd I'm like, ah, we're not here yet, sorry. Have to have patience and You know, they hear from you guys, and they hear the effects, and, you know, that's the reality is, where is it now? And not only that, where is it tomorrow? And if it works, where is it next week? And that's the reality.

SpeakerThat's the thing. That is, that's it right there, because when it starts to work, the worst feeling that I get, and people, you know, I'm probably 200 or 300 behind on Facebook, just messages of people trying to access it, And then the people that are accessing it, like, I can't put my fate into something I can't control, like in my previous situation, and say, okay, yes, we're going to be fully stocked all the time.

SpeakerI've yet to even be able to accomplish that in Colorado. It's just been complicated. You know, and then when the state came in through our renewals, and that's really what killed it, was we had We had 20,000 square foot of greenhouse dedicated to all our CBD products and dedicated to product that came in during just a routine renewal on the rec license and medical license. They came in and this was kind of like a weird, I don't want to say it's a campaign, but I noticed a trend.

SpeakerLet's just put it that way. Everybody got renewals and it seems like everybody that was in the top 20 got really kicked hard For one reason or another, we were the only Denver greenhouse that was permitted, approved, and during the renewal they said, no, we're not happy with it now, we need you to raise the greenhouse two feet in the air and add a sprinkler system to it.

SpeakerIt's like, what do you mean two feet in the air? You want me to build a floor two feet in the air off the ground? Like, because it's now considered A conflict between state and city. And so, you know, you lose all those plants and you lose everything. That's why that went down. That wasn't, you know, people were like, oh, they sold out to Monsanto or other weird bullshit that was floating around.

SpeakerIt's like the farthest from the truth. You have the city and the state that decided they don't want you to have that and then it's gone. And so then I have to move on and figure out, okay, well, How do I pick up the pieces and build stronger and better for the future and so that way I can create a more reliable and consistent program in Colorado.

SpeakerAnd from those experiences, those experiences directly have influenced everything in other states like California. We know what we need to do and we know how to do it and it takes a big team and we don't want to let patience down once it starts being put out there because it does work. When it works, the hardest feeling is when you know something works and somebody says, can I get that?

SpeakerAnd you have to say, no you can't. Like that's not a fun feeling. Like that makes me cry actually.

Etienne FontanIt becomes to teach people the art of disappointment. You don't want to, but that's the reality. We don't have access and we're still left to individual growers on top of that. When I see this many patients, I can't grow. If my city doesn't allow me, even if I could, I wouldn't have enough to grow to provide them. And that's reality.

SpeakerIt's the saddest feeling that you could possibly have from that standpoint in a collective. To have to say no, like for myself, I don't, you know, I seem to always like have medicine and then I just Give it away. Like, I'm always on the hunt for myself. It's like, oh, I just ran out of my P2s. And then I have to go get back P2s. And if I can't get it, because I'm, you know, there's other people that honestly have more priority.

SpeakerLike, I have a back problem. I have pain problems. But I'll smoke, you know, rosin. And I'll give my, I'll make sure other people can access the capsules and the sublinguals, like parents and cancer patients and, you know, autism and other serious conditions that, I consider it to be a priority over myself.

SpeakerI think with California and the amount of product that's here and the amount of love that goes into plants and especially in this area, this is the best location in the country in my opinion for cultivating cannabis on a large scale.

SpeakerI mean, you drive through Northern California and all you see is grapes, grapes, grapes, grapes, grapes, and there's a particular climate, there's a particular sun, there's a particular vibe, and more importantly, it's the people that are here. You know, they've been doing this a long time. Families have been doing this generations, and it's the care, and there's a certain level of standard, and it's all gold label.

SpeakerThe whole thing's gold label. Everybody's into... Thanks for watching. See you next time.

Etienne FontanYou know, it's off the main state road, you know, and that stuff's amazing.

SpeakerYeah. Amazing stuff. You know, and then, yeah, my friends, they've got this California Guild going on, and they've got a collection of OGs that they, you know, they shared with me, and they're just phenomenal. It's like so soily, so fuely, so OG-y. You know, it's like earthy, it's kind of an earthy, soily, robust, like Guinness of OGs, you know?

SpeakerI like the description.

SpeakerSo. But yeah, you know, it's kind of interesting how things have changed. I got my, I saw my buddy that used to work for us before, Dredd. You remember Dredd? Okay. Yep, Dread Smoked Weed. He, you know, he came in humble, great dude. You know, he's got a great opportunity out here. He's moved out here, and I'm really happy to see him with Elemental, and I'm happy to see him just, like, accelerating his game.

SpeakerIt's just, it's cool to kind of see people, whether they're with you or without you, later.

Etienne FontanThank you. Thank you.

SpeakerThank you. Thank you.

SpeakerYou know, that's like the biggest thing. And that's the same thing with Ernie and I. That's why we kind of bounced out because we, you know, there's like when a company gets to a certain size, like Colorado with River Rock and they want to go a certain direction, you can't blame that group, whatever they want to do. But certainly not everyone shares the same vision. And you'll see the ones that still stay friends because they share the same vision.

SpeakerAnd that's About quality, you know, and about providing, and about their lifestyle. And so now Dread and Elemental have a ton of fresh Rosen product coming down.

SpeakerAnd I think the Melts will be able to, like, touch that. And there's a couple strains that they got from us. They got some Gorilla Glue. I think they got some Banner. They've got a bunch of different really good strains. But it's kind of funny how it's, like, The relationships that you keep in the industry are the most important because they always come around. They always circle back.

SpeakerSo don't ever burn a bridge.

BubblemanWell, and really even a better way to say it is just be real. True.

BubblemanJust be real. On that note, I'm going to take a rip of this rosin. I photographed this about, well, over the last five to ten minutes while Tony was... Discussing some things. What is the varietal? The varietal was a dry sift. I made it with this dry sift, which is like a... It's cushy, but not like what we see in Vancouver now is cushy, but the old school hash plant cush sort of taste.

BubblemanSo this was dry sift that I cleaned up. It wasn't... I'm going to block some of that sun. It wasn't the super cleanest stuff.

BubblemanVery nice. But, you know, one thing that could surprise you about this dry sift, although it looks grainy. Let's see if I can get it to focus again. There we go.

Etienne FontanYeah, I can see it. Beautiful.

BubblemanSo little pieces might fall off. Oh, there's a piece. For the most part, it's sticky and sort of not the quality that you'd want to put on your nail, but to wrap into this real quick, which I photographed this as well with my macro lens, and then give it a quick squeeze onto the parchment paper as we've discussed a gazillion times in Hash Church. It sure is an exceptional rip, I have to say.

BubblemanI do have to say.

BubblemanSo I'm going to share those photographs of this because at least one of them was really a good one. And I'll put those in the Hash Church group on Facebook.

BubblemanShout out to Sublimator for a super cool dabber, titanium dabber that turns into a psilocybin mushroom.

BubblemanYou can actually eat this. No, you can't. No, you can't. You can't eat it.

BubblemanAwesome. Awesome. Yeah, so maybe I'll squeeze this little bit that fell out on the table here. It's like a very, I don't know, a half a gram or something.

BubblemanThis thing still probably has some squeeze left in it.

BubblemanJust making hash pucks there.

Etienne FontanThat's fucking beautiful.

BubblemanThat's fucking not too bad, eh? ATN with the pun. Well-placed pun, I'll say, my friend. Well-placed pun.

DarrenWhat's going on in Oakland?

Etienne FontanI'm just trying to follow along with the YouTube chat at the same time as the room here.

SpeakerI don't know how you do it, man.

Etienne FontanAnd you're doing Facebook at the same time. You're a machine, Mark.

BubblemanWhat's up, Space?

SpeakerHow you doing, buddy?

BubblemanDoing good, man. Doing good. Enjoying a little... A little rosin dabs, making some rosin from some, actually from some really nice bubble and some not so nice dry sift cleanings.

SpeakerI've been doing a lot of the same myself. We finally got to make some good melty a couple days ago, been stoked on that, been out for a few days, been smoking nothing but rosin. But it's definitely nice to have it as opposed to smoking food grade, turning your food grade into rosins. One of my favorite new things.

BubblemanYeah, no doubt. It sure is happy times.

Etienne FontanSo if we're smoking out of a Cannabis Reverend rig as well, I just want to give a shout out to the old Cannabis Reverend.

Archive SeedsYeah, where the hell is that thing? Here, check it out.

SpeakerHe was down here a couple months ago, and he made this little Erlenmeyer flask rig.

BubblemanThat's awesome.

SpeakerWoo!

BubblemanBusted you guys out in early.

Etienne FontanIt's rare to have a cannabis reverend drink.

BubblemanFor sure. I remember I bought a few of them back in the day. Flipped them on OG, just photographing them in front of my deck out on the water.

BubblemanHe used to do the double bubblers. What? He would do the double bubblers when Jason would come up in the field.

SpeakerYeah, I was actually in his last shop here, like, I don't know, probably six months ago, seven months ago, and he still has a few glass pieces that he had made when Tall Max was still blowing glass in the shop with him. He's probably got, like, maybe half a dozen pipes, and he doesn't even try to sell them. You know, I just think it's kind of funny.

SpeakerA lot of people don't even know that he blows glass, or has blown glass, but... It's funny, like, his lab is in his glass shop, and he'll whip out anything at any given moment. He made himself a little distillery process for cleaning up the alcohol that he uses for cleaning resins, so he can recycle his alcohol back. It's fucking hilarious.

BubblemanHey, that's pretty awesome. Hey, welcome back, Cheryl. I think we finally see you.

BubblemanAre you there, Cheryl?

BubblemanShe's frozen. She did make it in. Well, welcome Chris Bennett at the same time.

KarenHow's it going, man?

BubblemanIt's going pretty good. Made a little rosin just now. Nice. Tiny little bit of some oil that came off of that sift. It's funny how it's making it look dirty through this weird parchment paper.

KarenYou know, it's funny. People think rosin's something new, but back in the day they used to take all the kift Put it in a big like canvas bag and wind up the top and then hold that up above a fire so the heat was reaching it and then they would turn the bag and the oil would secrete through the bag from the Keith as it's heated up and they'd get a bit out then they'd twist it a bit more a little bit later and then scrape a bit more of that oil and that was the original hash oil was this heat extracted from Keith.

KarenOil.

BubblemanAnd were they getting those bags from freshheadies.com?

KarenIt was pretty freshheadie technology, unfortunately, yeah. This was back in the day, you know.

BubblemanBack in the day. When you say back in the day, you're talking like some fucking hundreds or thousands of years ago.

KarenWell, at least hundreds. You know, there's a lot of debate about hash when hash was first invented. A lot of people think, you know, it's like an Islamic thing. Uh, um, original Keith type hashes, you know, medieval type times, but, uh, Ethan Russo points to some Assyrian recipes that call for the screening of ha- of, of cannabis, so it seems like they were, like, trying to break the trichomes off the, uh, vegetative matter back in Assyrian times, and as well as Erastrian references, uh, Seem to indicate some sort of potent extraction of some kind as well.

BubblemanOkay, so while you were telling that story, in a split second glimpse, I pictured you and me in a movie, kind of like Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, except we're going back in time to discover all these ancient hash techniques.

KarenAnd smoke with ancient hash heads. Of course! Absolutely.

SpeakerThat's pretty good. So what year will you leave the mothership in and be stuck with like a wooden rig in present time?

BubblemanThat'll mess everything up. That's how the mothership, and then you'll have to show the video of Scott Deppie discovering the mothership that we left back in time and coming up with it.

KarenBack to the age of coconut bomb technology when they're throwing the chillums in the coconuts and first inventing the water pipes.

BubblemanJeez. Awesome history. I love the history.

KarenThere you go. Well, the Fab Big does look like one of those old coconut pipes, you know. I'm sure that's where you get that round shape from, you know.

BubblemanYeah, it's definitely chalice-esque, and it's definitely egg-esque as like a Fabergé egg. Bubble Man's bogus journey. All right, all right. I'm big. It's true.

SpeakerThis movie must be made.

BubblemanWe can use the electric skateboards to go back in time.

KarenYeah, well, if you get going fast enough in the right direction around the globe there, eventually you start spinning back in time.

BubblemanIf we put on a flux capacitor.

KarenThat's right, that's right.

BubblemanAll right, okay. So yeah, as many of you probably know, I've been doing some electric longboarding sessions with Chris lately, posted a few up on the channel there. Wicked fun, I have to say.

KarenI think every stoner in the stoner universe wants one of those things now, you know what I mean? I look at all the comments on there, and it's like, yeah, I bet next time we go to the Cannabis Cup or something like that, there'll be all these dudes there with their electric boards, hopping between venues, you know? It's like the technology's here now, you know? We just need to have fiber boards, you know, and then we're ready to rock.

BubblemanWell, I talked to Enrico from Sublimator the other day. He's also got three or four of them. He orders all the new ones like you, and he's got the one like you that you operate with your feet.

KarenOh, great. I didn't know Enrico was a skater. That's cool, man.

BubblemanYeah, so he was like, why did you not invite me? And I was like, dude, I didn't even know. You're invited, of course. Come with us every Thursday. Apparently, we're the Thursday Thrashers, or now known as the Lords of Bongtown. That's right. Lords of Bongtown. Take a rip with the Lords of Bongtown.

BubblemanSomeone's asking me why they can't find the... People ask me the names of the songs in my videos all the time. Even when I post the name of the song right over the video when the song starts. And then they ask me, what's the name of that song? And then I tell them and then they're like, dude, I can't find that song anywhere. I'm like, yes, because it's unreleased.

BubblemanMy friends are artists and then they give me unreleased songs and then I don't know when they release them. You have to wait for them to release them if you want to buy the song. Otherwise, watch the video and listen to the song.

KarenThere you go, man. You know, last night, late at night, I got a message from some European mutual friends there, the doctors. I don't know if it's cool to say who here. Well, I guess Rob Clark's been on, but his partner in crime there, Watson and Clark, were messaging me about that Scythian find of the cups and bowls. We're going to talk a little bit about the history of the cannabis drink that they recently found.

KarenNational Geographic did an article, and then every other paper in the world got it wrong and said, 2,700-year-old gold bongs found, and it was not bongs, just so everybody's clear on that. It was a beverage. It was a bowl that was used in preparation of it, and cups used in the drinking of it. As far as like bongs and pipes, people didn't really even start smoking So, cannabis is the general belief until after the New World discovery of tobacco smoking, and then that transferred over into pipes and bongs for cannabis smoking.

KarenThe initial way, you know, you burn it as an incense, or you eat it as a food, or you drink it as a drink, and probably the drink was the most common way of partaking of cannabis prior to the development of smoking in pipes, bongs, and joints.

BubblemanWhich makes sense, because That's really how you want to feed your endocannabinoid system is through that oral consumption of cannabinoids.

KarenI don't think that's a form of medicinal value unless you're ingesting it, you know?

BubblemanYeah, it's a certain decrease.

SpeakerI had a question for you. So what about, you know, natives and, you know, as far as the tribes are concerned, you know, when they were first introduced to tobacco, they claimed they'd already been smoking cannabis. And there's even descriptions of, you know, sometimes seeds being stuck in bowls and firing off and things like that in their literature. What's your take on that?

KarenYou'd have to point me to some texts because I've been through a lot of material. I've read a lot of books on the history of smoking. You know, there's like definitely carbonized cannabis that was burnt, but it was burnt in a bowl and then the fumes were captured inside a tent or a cave, right? But as far as like evidence of actual pipes, there's no evidence of art.

KarenThere's this one disputed find in Ethiopia of a chillum type pipe that dates back to the 14th century, according to the archaeologist Vandermeer, who made the discovery in a cave in Africa. And that would predate the tobacco smoking utensil, right? You know what I mean? But there's dispute about that because it's just this one archaeological find and the flexibility of carbon dating, it's disputable. It's not such a solid thing, you know what I mean?

KarenIt may be evidence of pre-New World discovery. I hate to call it New World, you know what I mean? There's people living here somehow because Europeans discovered it becomes a New World. Pre-European occupation, not even pre-European because there's Vikings and shit as well, but okay, pre-Columbus evidence of cannabis smoking. I'm not opposed to it, right? You know what I mean? It'd be great if I'd love to see some pipes and stuff like that, but even in like among the Africans and Pygmies and Congo and stuff, it's thought that they were introduced to cannabis by Islamic guys cruising around in that area.

KarenAnd that the smoking developed after that. But who knows? Maybe new archaeological evidence will appear and put all that to rest, you know? It's a pretty simple invention, you know?

Etienne FontanThere's no North American documentation of any kind of cannabis-free Columbus that I know of.

KarenThere's like these claims of, like, it's like these Egyptian mummies that have, you know, some, there's a claim of evidence of coca and tobacco in these Egyptian mummies. And there's a similar claim of, I think, some Aztec We've got a lot of mummies that have evidence of cannabis in their bodies, but these, in both cases, these could be other substances that have broke down over time, and they're only looking for markers for these things, and other things can leave evidence of these chemical markers in the body, right?

KarenSo it may be something else that has broken down over time, maybe even like, you know, endogenous endocannabinoids somehow can, you know, in a mummy or something like that, could give evidence up. So it's kind of disputable. There was claims by some early explorers that they saw hemp, but these are just botanical people that weren't properly trained botanists. They may or may not have gotten it right.

KarenBut the general view is that cannabis and hemp came to North America and South America with Europeans. And there's not any really good archaeological evidence to dispute that that I'm aware of.

SpeakerSo, is that also, because, you know, if you look at, when you say pre-Columbus, it's, you know, we have an influence on what our history and our history books are written. So, it'd be interesting, so what I'll do in my adventures, since there's like eight or six, eight to ten different tribes, I guess, throughout the country we're talking with, I'm going to start trying to find some literature, see if I can find anything.

KarenYeah, yeah, well the Vikings came and we know the Vikings were right into cannabis, you know what I mean? Yeah. A couple of discoveries, you know, so it's hard to believe that those Vikings, especially being ship bearing people, you need like hemp for cloth and for caulking boats, cloth for sails and stuff like that. I can't imagine a Viking crew making a voyage like that. Thank you for watching.

KarenThank you very much for joining us.

Etienne FontanSeafaring. On top of that, they were secretive about their fishing grounds and told no one except their family members. So, if not the Basques, for sure the Basques, and then right after the Basques, then the French.

SpeakerAnd then there was a long time ago the trade... Oh, go ahead. Go ahead. I was just going to say there was a trade route between Alaska and Asia at one point a long time ago, so that little piece of land, there could have been Other types of diversion and other types of things that came from Asia across Alaska into Canada down into the United States and South America as well.

SpeakerYou know, but there's, like you said, there's not any evidence that suggests that just yet. But I think there's a lot lost in the history books, especially when, you know, the white man kind of hit North America. So there's a lot of other Other documentation, I think, that might exist. So I'll keep my eyes out.

KarenAbsolutely. Yeah, no, things can always change. And there's always, it seems every few years, there's some great new archaeological discovery that really changes how we view about cannabis, like that one in China of the 2,700-year-old cannabis. That's like totally changed what we know about trade routes and stuff like that. Before the discovery of the Gushi culture, the Indo-European culture that was right in the center of China, It was thought things like the Spice Road were, you know, 200 or 300 B.C., but now it's more like, you know, 2,000 B.C.

Karenand changed all those dates of interaction between cultures and radically, you know, revised that whole bit of history. And really, you know, that ancient Spice Trail was as much a hempen highway as a Spice Trail. Cannabis was a major commodity and good quality cannabis incense, you know, fetched a price like gold in the ancient world. And was sought after by many ancient temples throughout the ancient world, in Asia, everywhere, India, you know.

SpeakerWell, I can tell you those same terpenes are just as valuable as gold now and just as sought after, so. I'm sure.

KarenWe're only discovering, you know, like you look at some of these medical claims of the ancient world and ancient China and Indian Ayurvedic and stuff like that. We're really just rediscovering. All this stuff, especially in regards to preventive medicine and its role in longevity. The oldest woman who ever lived, Fulaniya, 127 years old, used cannabis every day. U.S. government holds a patent on cannabis for its antioxidant qualities.

KarenAgent Chinese Taoist, Considered cannabis one of the superior medicines for longevity. Likewise, in a lot of Indian literature, cannabis is looked at as this major tool for longevity by yogis and stuff. We're just kind of tapping into it, you know what I mean? Just from self-observation, it seems like anybody I know who's just kind of a head, uses a lot of cannabis, doesn't drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes, is really surpassing their compatriots of their age group.

KarenThat smoke and drink and don't eat healthy and stuff like that. And it is a longevity substance. You know what I mean? I feel really good, man. And I'm like going to be 53 this summer, you know. And here I am, you know, me and Bubba Man out ripping the skateboards and stuff still. So, you know, it's like it is a keeps you young. It does kind of keep your body going and everything like that.

KarenAnd it is a preventive medicine. You know what I mean? It's going to be the major role for cannabis, I think, is going to be in extending the boomers' lives. You know what I mean? You go to these medical clubs here in Vancouver, and there are a lot of old people coming in and buying cannabis medicine. And it is like the medicine for old people.

BubblemanFor sure. It definitely is. I agree with everything you said and enjoyed the skateboarding. Hello.

Etienne FontanAbsolutely, man. Baby boomers are old people now. That's the reality. 50 is the new 30.

Etienne FontanAnd cannabis is still 50, sorry.

KarenThere's my coffin bird.

BubblemanOh yeah, your coffin bird. Remember he was coughing on the video? What's up? How's it going, Papa?

SpeakerYeah, I was wondering what those whistles were. And then I realized...

KarenThis little buddy that was hanging out. Yeah, he goes quiet as soon as you can see him. It's like that frog in the Warner Brothers cartoons that does the song and dance, and you put the camera on or try to show him to somebody, and he's just like... Quiet.

Etienne FontanHello, my baby. Hello, my darling. Hello, my right-hand guy.

BubblemanI'm picturing it. I'm picturing it. Oh, yeah, pictures. I was moving pictures. Forgot about that. Is Tony still on the bus?

KarenWell, I've got some chores to do here. So I'm going to sign out. I just wanted to pop in and say hi. And you coming into town tomorrow for a skate or what?

BubblemanYeah, I'm not too sure what's going on. I'll get in touch with you for sure.

KarenCool, cool. Well, I've got some parts for those other boards, so I should have four boards going by Thursday. So if anybody wants to hook up with the Lords of Bongtown on Thursday for a Vancouver riff... Message me up and we'll hook you up with one of those and get you out for a bit of a pre-run on the boards so that you can keep up with the boys.

BubblemanAnd so should we do that at 4 o'clock so by 4.20 we're puffing and recharging the boards?

KarenYeah, well absolutely. We've got to get Matt back on the, maybe even show up at 3.30, we'll puff down and then we can go for a good rip and get Matt back on his way before his 6 o'clock flight out of there.

BubblemanNice. Excellent. I want to ride right to his plane and say goodbye to him.

KarenSure. Sounds good, man. We could plan a trip like that.

BubblemanWe'll avoid the rubber mats.

KarenWe'll avoid the rubber mats, man. No road rash.

BubblemanAwesome, dude. Well, thanks for coming in, Chris. Much appreciated.

KarenOkay. Cheers. Take care, guys. God bless.

Etienne FontanI'm glad you got him in here. He's such fun in history.

BubblemanYeah, dude, Chris knows his shit for sure.

SpeakerI really, really appreciate his history and knowledge. It's so inspiring to see how this medicine we use is a historical, meditative, equilibrating force for humanity. And it's been suppressed in our history and suppressed in our mainstream culture.

SpeakerIt's really cool to see the... It's so inspiring just to see and not worry about how it's been suppressed but focus more on how this amazing movement is occurring that can be a literal revolution within itself or at least stimulate the The rumbling solution in my mind, just by the energy. And to see the historical backing to that is just incredible and really beautiful.

Etienne FontanEvery time you suppress this plant, what happens? It comes back stronger, harder than ever. And what's only happened every time keeps coming back, keeps coming back, no matter what culture. For some reason, this is one hell of a pervasive plant that motivates A hell of a lot of people, so much so that we changed our lives and changed history so that we can accommodate ourselves and hopefully, if we continue down the path, free all our brothers and sisters because there's too many brothers and sisters in jail right now.

Etienne FontanAnd if there's a toke, we should take a toke to all our brothers and sisters who are right now who are still... You know, I have to say, one of the great things this year, Bubble Man, was hanging out with you and then Mark Emery and taking bong hits with Mark Emery. You know that he's free and hanging out and being free. But it just, you know, reminds us, never forget, we have brothers and sisters right now in jail doing time for this plant.

Etienne FontanAnd, you know, we can celebrate, but let's never forget we still have work to do.

BubblemanYou know what? That reminds me, that will allow me to mention my good friend Zach Gillis. And you can check out his Facebook group. It's Zach Z or Zed, however you want to pronounce it, AK, and then Gillis, G-I-L-L-I-S. And it's a closed group, so you'll have to ask to be a part of it. And it's basically, it talks about the legal fund that's being put together for him, which is, I think it's a Zax fund at WordPress.

BubblemanI'll put the links into the final video, but

BubblemanLet's see if I can read his story real quick here. Zach, who are we were Zach's friends? Okay, Zach's story is one of tragedy but not one of violence. It's one of poverty but not one of greed. His story starts as a young boy with three little sisters all growing up in an alternative earthy environment until abuse and divorce pressed the fast forward button on Zach's life.

BubblemanHis childhood was facing immense struggle and loss. Zach still had the inner strengths to carry on. Zach was independent and financially supporting himself through college at age 16, and growing cannabis was the best way he knew. After scuffles with the law over petty charges, Zach found glassblowing and carpentry and began to live the life of creativity he was meant to. I'll pause at that point and tell you that's when Zach came into my life.

BubblemanI met Zach in 1995 on fish tour, either in Bozemont or Spokane. I can't remember which spot, but he had just had The cops just took a case of his glass and I think they were smashing it or yeah, I'm pretty sure they were smashing it and that's when I met him and I felt this kind of connection to him. He had another friend with him there and I had a friend with me and it was kind of wintry and snowy and they were going to follow us back because they were disenchanted with how they got treated in this particular state.

BubblemanThey were going to come check us out in Canada and I was telling them how we just got a license to grow hemp so we have fields of hemp and we've got this store and We've got, you know, we could build a glassblowing place, basically, I said. And so he lost us in a snowstorm, and I wasn't to see Zach again for three more years. And so a unique part of this story is that in that same year, in 1995, I met a glassblower that I didn't know because he wasn't really a glassblower yet.

BubblemanHe had just gotten out of film school from Ithaca, and he would eventually go by the name Marbleslinger. And so I met both of them in 1995 and then not knowingly I never saw either of them again for about three years. There was a third guy but he doesn't really fit into the story other than the fact that I also met him in 1995 in Amsterdam, didn't see either of these guys for three years and then saw them all three years later within like a couple of months.

BubblemanAnd how that happened was by being picked up hitchhiking. Slinger and Jason Lee were hitchhiking on the way to the Gorge in Washington on a little fish tour leg. And I picked them up. And so it was about a month later that Slinger was like, I think my roommate knows you. He said he met you on fish tour. And so Zach was one of these guys. And it was indeed this guy, Zach, who was his roommate and was the same guy I met on fish tour in 95.

BubblemanAnd Really a brother from another mother. Like I always had a really deep connection with this dude and he was a real solid dude. And now he's been basically caught up in a RICO charge. Okay, here I'll read it. Zach hasn't hurt anyone. He's not a criminal. Zach faces charges in a RICO case with people who sold marijuana across state lines. Our system won't treat him as an individual we know him as.

BubblemanThe federal government calls knowing the people who sold marijuana conspiracy and demands a mandatory minimum of five years of Zach's life, and the prosecutor may go for more, potentially 25 years. So, I'm glad that I was able to mention this because he's a dear friend of mine. I haven't seen him in years. I know he's been dealing with this problem for a while, and it's just super sad and a real bummer to think that He's in federal prison now being moved around.

BubblemanLast I heard he was in Oklahoma. But you can donate if you have the ability to to zaxfund at gmail.com via PayPal. That's Z-A-K-S-F-U-N-D at Gmail. And then he also is accepting money orders and you can pay the lawyer directly as well which can be found at zaxfund.wordpress.com and Yeah, buddy, I'm thinking about you. I hope that, uh, I hope you don't spend 25 years in jail.

Etienne FontanNo one should go to jail for a plan.

SpeakerThis is based on old

BubblemanYeah, it's old. It's based, I don't know exactly how old, but I'm sure it's not like from yesterday, like it's a while ago.

BubblemanSad shit.

SpeakerIt's so ridiculous. Hopefully with the rescheduling of, or, I mean, I don't know that it's imminent, but they're talking about rescheduling different drugs from Schedule 1 to Schedule 2, and Hopefully, if we can have that rescheduling, I just don't see a chance for him to face anything like decades. You know, hopefully, because I think even the federal government is starting to wake up to this, whether it be money backing it or not, the powers and blessings of Cannabis is starting to be a government and I really believe that will show through for your friends.

SpeakerWe should all hopefully rally together with some donations. I'm going to try to send at least 20 bucks or something over to Zach's fund. I read his The issue that was taking place and it's just ridiculous. I had to read what a RICO was and it was originally made for mobsters, companies that were laundering money. And you're the side company laundering money from a black market cartel business.

SpeakerWhat in the world? Like that's just absurd.

BubblemanTrue. Thanks, Joshua, for sharing that link. Yeah, Zach also had a deep link into the glassblowing scene. He inspired a ton of those guys, Jason Lee and D-Rex, Marbleslinger, Pedro Smiley, Marcel Braun, Eli and his brother, a whole whack of good dudes from the West Coast that all came to the West Coast and met up in Bellingham. Zach was a big part of that, so respect to him for that.

BubblemanWell, geez, thanks to the 555 viewers still sharing their time with us and all the people in chat here. We're enjoying Hash Church today, kind of a laid-back church. We... I want to thank Cheryl for coming in. I'm sorry that she wasn't able to get back in. She was having wonky internet. Probably as the day got on, more people around her jumped onto the connection. So we're sorry we didn't get to say goodbye to her, but hopefully she'll be able to come back and say goodbye to us next time.

BubblemanI will invite her in again, of course. And it was kind of fun to have Tony in today on a bus. I don't see that every day. Talk about a committed Hash Church attendee.

SpeakerI can't believe he gets it to work. And we can't get anything to work. But he can do the whole phone talking. Nobody on the bus goes, hey, dude, could you be quiet? My kid's sleeping. No interruptions. The dog's quiet. I know. The whole thing.

BubblemanYou're kind of right about that, actually.

Etienne FontanCouldn't have scripted that better, honestly. I mean, that was just hilarious.

BubblemanOkay, and the craziest thing, the craziest thing was when he got his buddy to talk. I looked away for a second and then I looked back up and I was like, I'm like, is this some other fucking dude on the bus talking? And I forgot I recognized the guy. That was that PhD dude because Tony introduced me to that guy before and he's quite brilliant. So I was all of a sudden like, oh my God, this is great.

BubblemanGod, other people on the bus. All of a sudden you realize the entire bus is Tony's crew.

SpeakerPretty much. The bus driver didn't seem to... I can't imagine being on a bus with a guy just, yeah, so, you know, pontificate, pontificate. I'd kill him.

BubblemanWell, I enjoyed it, personally. Oh, nice. Invite and slinger to the chat. Beautiful. I know he's busy. I'm sure he won't have time, but if he does, we will say hi to him for certain. And it was Slinger who actually sent me the information about Zach first, and then I heard it from D-Rec. I met D-Rec through Slinger. I really met Slinger, I really met all of those guys through Slinger, except Zach, because I met Zach on my own.

BubblemanAnd so that was just very trippy. Such crazy coincidences, you know, like, To drive by Slinger on my way to a fish show in a brand new car that I rented and see him across the street standing in front of an A&W, which is fast food I don't even enjoy, and then my brain, which I'm an OCD, like never turn around even for gas, I'll just run out of gas instead.

BubblemanI'm like, not going to turn around. And then my brain's like, you should go back and get onion rings. That's what it was. Go pick up that hitchhiker and get onion rings. You can go get onion rings and see if that hitchhiker's still there. And then I'm having this conversation with myself like, I don't even fucking like onion rings or A&W. Like, what kind of argument is that to try and convince me to go back and get that guy?

BubblemanBut then I realized, holy shit, that was from me. Like, I gave myself that argument. And then I was like, there must be a reason. So I turned around. And I went, and I went, and I picked up Marbleslinger. I wonder if this thing's here. It should be great if it was. Probably not anymore. It used to be for a long time. I went, I turned around.

BubblemanNow, he was on the other side of the street, and I was like, hey, dude, do you need a ride? And this was me meeting Marbleslinger for the second time. Not realizing it at the time that we'd ever met each other. And he was like, yeah, I got a friend. My friend's got to come with me too. And that was Jason Lee and his girlfriend. So they were good to go.

Etienne FontanAnd I was still like, we got to go get some onion rings.

BubblemanSo we're standing in line at the A&W getting onion rings. This is how crazy I am. And he gives me a marble with an OM symbol in it. I wish I had it in my drawer here because it's really quite a beautiful marble. I definitely still have it. It's the first marble Slinger ever gave me. In a long list of gifted marbles, so I thank him for that and give props to Marble Slinger, one of the great glassblowers out there and truly an artist in every sense of the word.

BubblemanSince I've known the guy, he really is more than just a glassblower. I think of him more as an artist who just allows his passion and love for cannabis to flow into his work. So I appreciate him for that.

SpeakerI just donated $43 to the Zach Gillis Legal Fund fundraiser, and it should be pretty easy to find on a Google search. I wish I could donate more, but I thought I would do what I can, and I wanted to mention that one more time. Let's talk about mentioning that bubble man. We have our friend in prison and has been in prison for a long time on some big charges and we're scheduling and readjusting the perspective of cannabis.

SpeakerHe will find parole, which should be common sense, right? Did you say Eddie?

BubblemanYeah, Eddie Lep. Oh yeah, I've known Eddie Lep for a long time. I would also call Eddie a friend. I met him years and years ago and he was quite a character. I was always terrible to hear when they gave him so much problems and put him in jail. He must have been in jail for close to 10 years now.

SpeakerHe's still... He is still... And hopefully what I was told was something like 500 days. And my good friend Alan out here who does the growth, I was over at his place yesterday and I was blessed with Eddie's seed stash. Which has Jack Carrere, well, I was told Jack Carrere's stash. You know, probably not all of Jack Carrere's stash, but it was incredible. Eddie and Jack traveled the world and found a lot of amazing cultivars and sorted through them and kept the best ones.

SpeakerAnd Alan's got those on lock, so we're hoping to help... Help preserve those blessed genetics. And it was just so cool to open this box. It was sitting on the table. And I was sitting there. I had no clue what it was because it was like a random electronics box, like an old box. And I just had no clue. So after like 20 minutes of conversating, he's like, so you want to go through that?

SpeakerAnd I was like, oh, what? That's, wow.

BubblemanHmm.

BubblemanNice to get seed collections for sure.

SpeakerWell, it's all about the germ. Yeah, I was mentioning how it's just crucial to do a viability check and check on germination for all the generations. You're not losing viability. And if you're losing viability on a particular cultivar, then you Take that one out of 10 or one out of 20 that you can get to germinate rather than losing that cultivar.

BubblemanYes, and remember Rob Clark came in here a while ago and said even if your seeds don't crack, you can send them to him for their project that they're working on right now, some type of a genome project, and I should really know the address to drop, but I'll just say, damn Rob, this is why I need you in here, dude. I'll figure it out. I'll write it into the comments of the final video, the address where you can send genetics.

BubblemanEven if they're seeds that you just can't crack, instead of throwing away, you can send them to these guys and they can still get genetic tissue out of it and get some of the genetics and it's still helpful and it's another way of preserving information. Can't go wrong with preserving information.

SpeakerNo doubt, but we also learned today you might want to leave your seeds for 90 days if they're really rare, just in case.

BubblemanI mean, seriously, right?

SpeakerCrazy.

BubblemanThat is weird.

SpeakerWell, anything that grows on the edge of a volcano is... You never know. The dab will do you. Sometimes you need 100.

SpeakerWell, when, you know, 90 days and then 120 or something insane, yeah, you can grow on nothing, but maybe we'll just try a few other strains down the hill from the volcano.

BubblemanThere you go. That makes sense. Well, I'm glad I got to mention Zach. I meant to do that, and I did, and I hope that, thank you Creek and everyone else for helping out Zach and his legal fund and help get him back to his family where he belongs. And thanks everyone for watching Hash Church for episode 36. Thank everyone obviously who came in and participated in the panel.

BubblemanThank you Etienne and Horatio and thank you Bizarre Brothers, Joshua and Space in the house. Tony from the bus with his, one of his partners in United Cannabis. I can't remember his name but I thank him for coming in as well and I definitely thank Cheryl for coming in and spending time with us and telling us about her story and Haley. Give strength to Haley and if anyone wants to help, if anyone wants to offer help to Haley T Rose, I will just look up the The name of the Facebook Foundation, just so I don't make a mistake.

Etienne FontanShe's a very brave mother. We never got to finish to kind of give her some props. But, I mean, again, another great job getting another brave mother in here who had to, you know, rise above conventional medicine to actually, you know, get medical cannabis into her child's hands and is actually benefiting from it day after day. And so much respect for her to taking that chance And then continuing it once saying that, you know, response from the child itself.

Etienne FontanHow many parents, how many patients don't have that support system? You know what I'm saying? That is huge. So much respect. All right.

BubblemanYeah, so there it is. It's the Haley Rose Foundation, HRF. And you can Google that and you'll see there's a picture of her up there with Mark Emery and her mom, Cheryl. And yeah, you know, go give that page a like. They've only got 527, 528 likes right now. Let's get them up a bunch of likes at the Hayley Rose Foundation page on Facebook. Go check them out and if you have a way to help them and you're in British Columbia, you have information or whatever it is, you can get in touch with them through there.

BubblemanSo I want to thank them for coming out. Thank all the regulars, Johnny B and his buddy Brent that came in, D420K who was with us for a short time, and anyone else I forgot. Thank you guys for coming into Hash Church. It's good. It's a good thing. 36 weeks into this and I don't think we're slowing down at all. So thank you guys for coming, and we will see you next week, Sunday, 9 a.m. on Hash Church.
