What is Hash Church?

Hash Church is a live show about hash, and more than a show. Every Sunday morning Bubbleman opens a video call with a panel of hash makers, growers, breeders and scientists, takes questions from the chat, and talks hash for three or four hours. An early episode description put it best: another congregation of hashishin.

Hash Church history

Hash Church history starts on September 28, 2014, with the first live Sunday. By the sixth episode that November, the panel included Skunkman Sam, Etienne Fontan, Tony Verzura, the chemist Mark Scialdone and D420K. The show went through versions, Hash Church 2.0 and 3.0 among them, and its podcast feed began in August 2019. In early 2020 Bubbleman’s YouTube channel was hacked and the old videos came down; the first show back, in March 2020, thanked YouTube for returning the channel. Season 12 is the 2026 run, and every show has now been transcribed so the archive can be searched.

The Hash Church panel

The Hash Church panel changes every week, but some voices keep coming back: hash makers, growers, breeders and scientists from the early years, and new guests every season, from TJ of The Original Resinator to Jorge Cervantes. Skunkman Sam, Bubbleman’s mentor, shaped the show until he passed on, and Bubbleman still credits him as the inspiration. Five of them sit with Bubbleman most weeks; meet them on the Hash Church co-hosts page. In the chat, Bingo Lombardi holds the room down every Sunday.

  1. Thank you, Skunkman Sam, for being the inspiration, still to this day, every day, for inspiring me and so many others. Hash Church wouldn’t be what it was. Most of what I’m excited about is a lot of what Skunkman Sam said over the years in Hash Church. On the show’s inspiration

Why it’s called Hash Church

Why it’s called Hash Church is half joke, half truth. It meets every Sunday morning, it has a congregation, and, as the show’s own introduction puts it, Hash Church is about ritual, respect for the plant and elevating the experience. It is not a religious show, though it has turned up on church podcast charts.

Supporting Hash Church

Supporting Hash Church is simple: watch live, ask questions in the chat, share episodes, and, if you like, join Bubbleman’s World as a channel member on YouTube. Every episode can be found on the episodes page, and listeners can send fan mail through the podcast. The show’s sponsors are listed on its sponsors page.
