Who runs this site

This site is run by Marcus Richardson, known as BC Bubbleman, in British Columbia, Canada. Questions about privacy can be sent through the contact page, linked at the bottom of every page.

Information we collect

The information we collect comes from three places:

Google Analytics and cookies

Google Analytics, and the cookies it sets, help us understand which pages people find useful. Its cookies have names that start with _ga. Google processes this data on its own servers, which may be outside Canada, as described in how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked first, and analytics cookies are set only if they agree. Wherever you are, you can change your choice at any time with the Cookie choices button at the bottom of every page; your choice is saved in your browser. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on. We don’t use advertising cookies, and Google’s advertising features are switched off.

Videos and audio from other sites

Videos and audio on this site come from other sites, which receive your IP address when they load. Videos come from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode and load only when you press play, after which YouTube’s own policies apply. Episode audio streams from Buzzsprout when you press play. The site’s fonts are stored on this site, so loading them involves no one else. The archive search runs on this site’s own server: the words you search for are sent to our web host to find the matching lines, may appear in its standard server logs, and go to no one else. No AI service reads them.

How we use information

We use information to reply to your messages, to understand and improve the site, and to keep it secure. We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the services that run the site for us, our form service, Google Analytics and our web host, and when the law requires it.

How long we keep information

How long we keep information depends on what it is. Messages are kept as long as we need them to reply and to keep a record of the conversation, then deleted. Google Analytics data is kept for no more than 14 months. Server logs are kept by our host for a limited time.

Your privacy rights

Your privacy rights include asking to see the personal information we hold about you, asking us to correct it, and asking us to delete it; send the request through the contact page. Canadian privacy law applies to this site, and visitors in places with their own privacy laws, such as the European Union and the United Kingdom, have the rights those laws give them. If you aren’t satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

Adults only

This site is for adults only. It is about cannabis and is meant for people of legal age where they live, which in British Columbia is 19, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
