BubblemanAll right, well, welcome to Hash Church, everybody. Episode 25, and I am coming at you live from my office in beautiful British Columbia. Of course, last week we did Hash Church from Negril, Jamaica. Myself and Tony were at the Beachcomber, I guess, hotel on the Seven Mile Beach, and that was pretty exciting. We were doing the Stepping High Festival. And yeah, you know, overall it went really well.

BubblemanI've got a bunch of videos that are still going to be going up here soon for that. And geez, yeah. What to say? I guess shout out to my good buddy D420K. He's still sick as a dog and we're hoping that he's feeling better and he's going to join us for a hash church next week. I know he's in the chat right now doing his best to keep everyone...

BubblemanIn line. Who better to keep everyone in line than D420K? So we hope you're feeling better, buddy, and yeah, why don't we start off the day with a little D420K dry sift rip. We're going to be talking about hash today, hash, hash, and more hash. We get into all sorts of discussions in hash church these days, but today I really want to get into, oh, weird error message.

BubblemanNo wonder nobody's coming in. Let's try that again. Let's try it again. Works for me. Alright, just having some technical difficulty. I sent out the link to some people and it's not working. Johnny B? Johnny B? Yeah, my hair's getting long. I know. I gotta go get a haircut.

BubblemanLet's see how that is. 109 people in Hash Church this morning. Let's hope that our technical difficulty runs out and everyone starts getting into church. It's always nice when everyone gets into church. All right. Stevie D Nation, good morning, brother.

SpeakerWell, fuck.

BubblemanYeah, not working, eh?

SpeakerAll right, let's see what we can do.

BubblemanLet's see what we can do. I'm going to try another link. I'm going to try another link.

BubblemanAll right, we got one working. Good stuff. That was a little bit freaky.

BubblemanYeah, we'll give you a minute. We'll give you a minute. Just trying to set everything up here. I'm wondering if... One over there to B. Okay, I think I've sent... I think I've sent everyone one on links. I sent the email out to... Ooh, the email might have to go out again. That's right. Maybe that's not working for the people that I sold it to. Let's send it to, I sent it to Cuban.

BubblemanIs that how loud it is? Am I right, John? Oh, are you loud? I didn't even have the camera open. I could just hear this bang, boom, smash. I was like, oh, Johnny B's in the house. How are you, John?

BubblemanI hope we're doing good today after all those courts.

SpeakerQuartz, Quartz, Quartz, the Cuban grower. Is that a little bit better?

BubblemanNot much. You need a mic.

BubblemanGet it, bro? It's only the 25th episode, John. We figure by 50 you'll have it right on check. By 50 you should probably have this all organized by then. 42. Oh, and it's always good when you hold your hands up to your camera because that makes it super blurry.

SpeakerHow's it going?

BubblemanGood morning, dude. What's going on with John?

SpeakerIs that a little bit better? You need a mic.

BubblemanI'll tell you something, John. I'm not going to invite you in anymore if you can't get your shit together, okay, buddy? I hate to be a douchebag, but if you can't get your shit together, I just can't send you the link anymore because it's... It's important. We can't have bad sound. And all you have to do is get a headset. They cost about 12 bucks at London Drugs.

Speaker20 episodes.

BubblemanDude, I wasn't sure you were going to make it. D, I thought you were dying.

SpeakerWell, I'm on the mend, but I took a dab last night. We had a huge power outage here for about 24 hours, so I had the generator hooked up to my house and all that shit last night. Sent the family to a hotel and looked after the neighborhood sort of thing, but It was black, pitch black like it was like the, like in the movie fucking what's that, the purge or whatever.

SpeakerIt was fucking, it was spooky around here. But I took a dab last night and near fucking died. Holy shit did it kick my ass. And then I woke up about three hours later on the couch. It was good. But I'm on the road. Yeah, my lungs took a good beating. Everybody up here has had that cold. I know people in the coast that have it. Over in Alberta had it.

SpeakerWhat are you using for a mic, Darren?

BubblemanBecause yours sounds perfect. I'm just using my laptop. The same laptop that John has? I don't know. Is it a MacBook Pro? Yep. I don't understand how your sound sounds so perfect all the time. He has the same computer except a newer one. We've got to sort it out. I've got to go to his house or something because I hate waking up in Hash Church and then starting off by having to be mad at someone who's come in 25 times with their microphone fucked.

SpeakerWell, we need a sound guy. Maybe we need a whole team so we don't have to do nothing but fucking talk and smoke and never have to worry about that. Well, how much does that cost, I wonder? I wonder if there's guys out there that are willing to just say, you know what, I'd like to be a part of that and I know my sound stuff and I know this stuff and if you let me I'll be a part of it for free.

SpeakerRight. There's probably a lot of people out there that will do that. But I think there's more to it. I think we talked about that before and then there's passwords and everything else that you're trusting in people to run the shit.

BubblemanOh yeah, I wouldn't. I wouldn't trust anyone with the passwords.

SpeakerYeah.

BubblemanI've done it through the internet before. You get one good dick in charge of your passwords and he decides to not be a cool guy. Yeah.

SpeakerWow. That's when I come in. Stealth assassin, the son of a bitch. Yeah.

BubblemanI'll just send him your address. Yeah. This is the D420K. He wants to talk. Hey, look at that. Free Delisi says he's an engineer. What the fuck? A sound engineer? Where are you, Rick? Why aren't you with us right now? I got to send Rick. You know what? It's amazing. Morning, guys.

SpeakerMorning.

BubblemanMorning, good morning, good morning. It's a slow opening to Hash Church. We do have 300 viewers in the house. Welcome, Nick, and thank you for having a mic that works.

SpeakerI wonder how the court worked out and everything. Is there any discussion on that that you know of with the court case for all of us, Mark?

BubblemanI haven't figured out anything. That's, you know, John Conroy and Kirk Tussaud have been doing incredible updates. John Conroy just did an update recently where it's a great video that if you watch it, you can, you get, I mean, there's really no better update than the one from John Conroy because he really has an amazing idea of what's happening and what's going on, whereas everyone else is, I guess, Deciphering what they think is going on.

BubblemanYeah. You know how poor it is. You've sat there before and been like, after it's over, you look over to your lawyer and you're like, what just happened?

SpeakerYeah, that's usually what I'm getting fucking cuffed and taken into the back to do my fucking time on the law. But I wasn't doing any time this time. God damn it. Hey, Tony. Is that better? You back, buddy? I can hear you. I got the laptop. Nice. And I heard you were talking about the court case, and I was pretty much there, and I went every day.

SpeakerI tweeted the whole court case with Jeremiah. Yep. I mean, overall, all in all, all other countries that have a medical system, once those patients have the right to grow, they were never taken away that right. But over time, the new systems slowly faded out, and they adopted to a new system, but Overall, we've got to wait for the judge, right? It was a good court case.

SpeakerIt was nice to listen to the professionals and the evidence that went into Canadian documents about how cannabis is a medicine that was helping patients all around the world. So I think it was very positive for everybody to be able to listen to it. Were they bringing up any negatives about it that they could actually stand on, like, you know, that they had a point on? Pretty much all the stuff that they had on Grow Ops had nothing to do with medical gardens.

SpeakerAll the research was more or less geared towards illegal activity, methamphetamine labs, stuff like that. So, I mean, they really had no solid evidence that it was from legal grows. So, I mean, everything came from the Surrey Fire Chief. And of course, he's pretty biased against cannabis. Overall, guys, the court case looked very well for four patients. And what's going to be the outcome, we don't know.

SpeakerThe judge will make the decision. But like John said, like Jason said, we all look pretty positive on the rights to be able to continue to grow on probably a smaller grant. We don't know. We can't call anything. We don't know what's going to happen. But I feel pretty positive that No matter which way things turn, I'll still be able to keep continuing growing with my small garden.

SpeakerI'll have no problems.

BubblemanHey, thanks for using your MacBook Pro, John. Would you do me a favor and not ever use your downstairs computer again? Yes, 100%.

SpeakerThat's awesome, bro. That would be great. I will only use this computer for housework.

BubblemanBecause, of course, once again, everyone's like, wow, Buddy's being a huge dick to John. And I'm like, yeah, I don't enjoy being a dick to John, but imagine someone doing the same fucking thing 25 times in a row, like,

SpeakerWhat the fuck? Hey, but we've used the Mac before, so it's probably about 23 times, but it's okay.

BubblemanIt's been 25 times, dude. Go back and watch each one.

BubblemanI appreciate you using your brand new Mac. It's much easier for people to hear, and it's a better quality recording, and I appreciate it very much. Thank you. I still have it because I left it outside the other night. Welcome, Tony.

SpeakerWhat's going on, brother? How you doing?

BubblemanOh, we're just setting it up, getting everyone on the right timeline here. I guess because I set it up in Jamaica last week, it was thinking that we were two hours earlier. So John had to call me at like 7 in the morning and be like, dude, Astrid just starting.

SpeakerI was like, oh shit. How's the new place? I figured I would send you a few messages right away. I knew you screwed up. I was telling people in chat, it's 9 a.m., guys. It's just an early countdown.

BubblemanI was up for the last two hours since you called, Johnny B. I was trying to get my video camera hooked up much the way... Oh, nice view, Tony. Much the way Cuban has his set up, but it wouldn't work for me, so I'm not too sure if Cuban and those guys are still making their way into the room. I did send out an email this morning.

BubblemanWe'll see if they got it. I sent it out to Rob. I think that was the wrong link this morning, though, dude.

SpeakerYeah, and then I sent another one out. Pretty good deal, right? Where is that, Tony? This is in Denver. Denver. Hey, let's have a pop. Yeah.

BubblemanYou know what I'm going to start off the day with?

SpeakerSome D420K.

BubblemanA little dry sift rosin. Really?

SpeakerNice job, dude.

BubblemanRosin. What is this?

SpeakerDry sift rosin.

BubblemanHave a try. Dry sift rosin. You know what? Bubble Man's always got to take it to the next step. We already have live hash and we've had bubble hash rosin, but nobody's been making dry sift rosin. So I thought, who better than the Bubble Man to bust out some dry sift rosin? And hopefully we'll have Cuban Grower come in later to talk about rosin. We'll have Soil Grown, who's basically blowing up Instagram with his Rosin Techniques, and I've also invited Jeff Church, an old friend of mine from Seattle area, and he is also planning on making it in today.

BubblemanIf I can get him the proper link, see there. Yeah, so I thought we'd have another little conversation. Here's an interesting thing now, and I took this tip from Jeff Church. So I want to give it up to Jeff so nobody can say that it's my tech or that I invented anything. I'm just playing around, okay? What I did was I did the parchment trick where we wrapped the hash in parchment, but instead of wrapping it in parchment, what I did was I wrapped it in a 25-micron screen, right?

BubblemanA 25-micron screen, a bubble bag screen, is going to allow me to keep the hash inside and get the rosin outside. Keeping any type of contaminant, plant matter in particular, if you're using bud, I would suggest using the 25 micron screen. And what the rosin did is it just slowly leaked out onto the screen. This is the remnants that I cleaned up. And yes, Tony, as you can see, I ripped the fucking parchment.

BubblemanI do it to mine too, buddy, not just yours.

SpeakerYeah, we talked about doing the rosin tech with the screen. I'm glad that you actually did it.

BubblemanYeah, well, it was, you know, Jeff Church wrote me up and mentioned that he was doing it and having some good luck, so I was like, well, I'll give it a shot. I got the Taurus lit up. I don't believe you need special parchment paper. I've also been using a very feminine pink hair straightener. I figured I would play, you know, it's interesting. Yeah, yeah, I know, tech, tech, tech, chic, O'Neal.

BubblemanI hear the same thing. I'm not trying to... Say, oh, actually, no, wait a minute. You've got to go. Block. Sorry, bro. I forgot you're a douchebag. All right. So he's gone. I forgot about that guy. Sorry, chat room, for exposing you to Sheik O'Neill, the ultimate douchebag. He's gone.

SpeakerThe guy that said good luck on my future suicide last week on my comments. He's the guy that said that? Yes. I'd like to meet him face to face and fucking smack him, that goof. What a guy.

BubblemanIt's one thing to be an internet tough guy, like a keyboard warrior. It's another when you know exactly what the guy looks like, who he kind of is, and what he could potentially do to you. That's just fucking borderline insane.

SpeakerWell, you know, I do nothing but positive. I don't expect any negative. But the guy left a comment saying, You weed-smoking fags and all your fucking heavy metal and shit. Then he says, good luck with your future suicide. Wow. Hey, welcome, Horatio. He's obviously not smoking any kind of cool mouth. He's not smoking anything. Maybe he smokes crack or meth.

BubblemanDude, that's pretty ridiculous.

SpeakerHe's full of lots of hate, that's for sure, man. Fuck, it's going to ruin him.

BubblemanDude, well we should have a puff for the chic right now. I'm puffing.

SpeakerI got my dry sift rosin. Let's do this. Have a puff for his future livelihood. I'm going to hold off on the puffing for a few more days.

SpeakerI had a rip last night and it just finished me. What do you mean hold off? Well, I'm not going to. I'm not going to have a toke. I was down. I hadn't had a toke for over a week, and last night I had my first rip, and just my lungs just killed me.

BubblemanIt's too hot. All right, well, here's a question. A lot of people are saying that rosin tech just isn't for me. A lot of people are blasting it as the new thing now. You know what? Give it a shot. Try it out. It's not really the ultimate way. There's guaranteed using heat to extract resin is going to affect terpenes.

BubblemanOn the lowest setting I've used, I can still taste, I guess what I would call that, not bastardization, but just a little bit of an alteration. There's definitely been terp alteration compared to a cold water extraction or a dry sift which has literally little to any terp loss other than what you've lost in the air. And the more and more I do my research, the more and more I'm coming to the conclusion that we are definitely going to want to separate our terpenes out from the terpene profile because we've mentioned this word I don't actually know the word.

BubblemanMaybe someone can, Horatio, you might know the terms of the attracting of the water and the repelling of the water. Hydrophobic?

SpeakerHydrophobic and hydrophilic.

BubblemanPhilic and phobic. Okay, so philic is pushing the water away? Pulling in. Right. Why don't you say that one more time, Horatio, so it doesn't sound like I'm a total idiot.

SpeakerWell, just in case I'm an idiot, phobic is afraid, is rejecting water, and philic is pulling it in and attracting it.

BubblemanThank you. I appreciate that. All right. I know we've mixed those up, and I know when we do mix these things up, people love to jump on our nuts and be like, oh, you mixed that word up. You don't even know what you're talking about. Well, you know what? Most of us can admit that we don't know what we're talking about. We're just kind of shooting the shit, kind of By no means are any of us high-end PhD scientists.

BubblemanI can say that because Mark's not in the room right now.

BubblemanWe're just doing our thing. We're just trying to learn, and I think the best way to do it is to have these conversations. Hydrophobic, hydrophobic. Now they're talking about it in the chat. One thing I noticed with the seven star you had left me to photograph... Whatever those terpenes were, it really buttered it out.

SpeakerPretty much nine out of ten terpenes I come across butter things out so fast that it's pretty much going to have to be its own style. Right.

BubblemanI guess you're adding them light too because I remember Tony made some jarella in Amsterdam and it was like glass. Did it not stay like that the entire time until it was gone, Tony, that one or two pieces? There was some that buttered out depending on like maybe the ratio of terpenes that went in, but a couple of times he made it in a way that was like it was glass.

BubblemanIt was just glassy and it never buttered out. Of course, we never kept it around for seven days. I think we puffed it pretty fast.

SpeakerThat's kind of the question. I mean, I'm kind of really starting to hate the dropper because it's really, a drop is too concentrated of a terpene It's just, you've got to spread it thin and then literally try to rain, you know, heads down onto a thin sheet of it. So it's, that part of it's been a pain in the ass, that not being enough for everybody. And it's either too concentrated or not concentrated enough.

SpeakerRight.

BubblemanSorry, just checking my messages. Oh, let's see, Robert's going to try and make it onto Hash Church today. I don't know if you guys know Bobby Nuggs. East Coast Activist. We gave him a shout-out last week because he had some crazy fucking asthma attack and ended up in the hospital. So, yeah, he's a pretty positive dude.

SpeakerHoratio. Horatio. What's up? Yeah, so there's definitely a special technique to all that. And that's what I tried to tell you about, you know, looking at things on a micro level. Uh, especially with terps, because there's only a 5-7% percentage of essential oils in terps in a plant. Sometimes they're heavier, but, um, you really need to look at things under, uh, micro, and I, I went away from the dropper a while ago.

SpeakerWell, you have a budget, too. The atomizer I want is $1500, but it allows me to mist it like an airbrush, which is the right ratio, but... Just to switch from a dropper to the next level is a $1,500 move that isn't always available. Soon, my friend. What's up, Cuban? Get one for you and taste it all up and all of us throw a couple hundred bucks in.

SpeakerI'd be down for that ratio, no problem. Let's get this happening.

SpeakerOh man, everyone getting like one mist of Terps as their payback and just having to like waft it in and show a lot of pressure. He'll just, he'll let you smell it, D40. He'll let you know it. He's like, hey, do you smell those Terps? Those smell great. Don't they smell great? Yep. Don't you actually try them? Yeah. Another 1,500. Yeah, just smell them and then take your regular dab and do that.

BubblemanOh my God. Man, I can't believe Spain. I literally feel like I got back from Jamaica yesterday.

SpeakerHow's your son feeling?

BubblemanHe's sick, dude. He's got some virus in his lungs, so he's not enjoying that right now.

SpeakerYeah, it's hitting everywhere.

BubblemanHe's still sick. Yeah, he's just coming out of it, you know. It's like it's the first time he ever got sick, so he'll probably, like, you know, when you have a little kid, like five, six months old, and they get, like, a weird lung thing, like, man, you can hear that shit, like, sometimes months down the road. Yep.

SpeakerWell, that's how my lungs feel now. I haven't been getting shit kicked like that for years, man.

BubblemanHey, welcome, Fletcher. And thank you, dude. I wanted to thank Fletcher for sending me all the cool archive gear. Got hats and hoodies and t-shirts and stickers.

SpeakerI like Fletcher's logo.

BubblemanYeah, dude. Who's chilling with Fletcher? Is that Jeff?

BubblemanShit. Fuck, that's been a while, eh? What do we got going on? You guys are muted.

BubblemanYou guys are muted. Let me see if I can unmute you with my magical... Yep. Now you're not muted. You're good. I unmuted you. 421 viewers. We just jumped 420. I have a one minute warning right here in front of me. Johnny B with the one minute warning. He's always good. Sometimes you gave me the one hour warning today, dude. Oh yeah, I had the one day warning yesterday.

BubblemanThe one day warning.

SpeakerI have to say that since I've been plugging in the D now and I'm pulling out different hashes out of my freezer, it's really changed my world because I've been hitting everything with like a flame. I know.

BubblemanI've been watching. The hardest part about watching you hit everything with a flame was knowing that you owned a D-nail.

SpeakerFor like six months?

BubblemanDude, for six months since like last May, bro.

SpeakerAnd you know the bowl that I did? Hedy found it in my yellow jar and she reminded me about it and it was wrapped up. So yeah, I told you that. It's like... I'm hitting everything. I'm pulling stuff out of the freezer that I've had in there for like a couple years and it's so tasty.

BubblemanNice. John's preservation. John's hashish preservation.

BubblemanNot going to be preserving shit with that D-nail though.

SpeakerThis is some of the first of the Haas. It's like the Haas one. So you know this is like old, right? But definitely... We're just at different hits and different tastes that I'm able to start working with. It's quite enjoyable how the hash is able to affect me.

BubblemanWell, I'm sure happy that you have it. Every time I see your update using it, I'm like, yeah. Everywhere now.

SpeakerIt's like, it works. It's something that works, and that's one thing I always like. If it works, then, hey, I'm behind something that works.

BubblemanWell, I'm just sorry that it took us that long to figure that out, because I still don't understand how that happened. Like, A, my manager is usually very, very efficient. The guys at D-Mail have been nothing but efficient. And somehow you just got lost in the fucking mix, Johnny B. That's okay. I'm not one to complain. What did I get? No, you aren't. Huh? I said, no, you aren't.

BubblemanThat's my job. I'm the complainer. Everyone's like, Bubble Man's a dick.

SpeakerI'm like, well, you try to produce the show. I'm trying to take away my license to grow my medicine or work safety denying people their rights. So that's something different than a very vocal about that.

BubblemanSure, yeah.

SpeakerAbsolutely. Is that working now?

BubblemanYes, it was working. You just had to talk.

SpeakerOh. Thanks.

SpeakerWhat's going on guys?

SpeakerOh, Jeff's just pressing up some rosin.

BubblemanDude, I did the pressing screen thing.

SpeakerWhat'd you think?

BubblemanOh! It was good.

SpeakerI'll have to make some now.

BubblemanIt looks worse than it does. The hash comes off perfectly clean off the screen. The extra.

SpeakerYeah, Jeff like twists it in a ball so it all stays in one spot.

BubblemanYeah, well, I'm hoping he's going to, you know, give everyone some tips and stuff. I had to try it before he came on, but it was very strong. I did it with dry sift, because I haven't heard anyone doing it with dry sift yet, so I was like, well, I'll rosin' up some dry sift. And I took some photos of it, which I'll probably post soon. It was very gold.

SpeakerSo I got some three-star impression off the way here.

BubblemanAlright, so I was kind of, I was doing a similar thing to that right there, just like not really holding it, but just giving it these little wafts.

SpeakerSo first I press it, and get it into a ball. Here, I'll pull it closer here. Yeah.

BubblemanSo you press it a little bit and get it into a ball.

SpeakerYeah. So you press it up, and you get it into a nice little ball size. Excellent. And then I take the pressing screen right here. I have a little chunk of it. Yep. And I pop the sheesh in there. Nice. And then wrap it up into a little ball like that.

BubblemanNice.

BubblemanRosin Tech going down on Hash Church with Jeff Church.

SpeakerCannabis Reverend.

BubblemanLook at all the half people in the room smiling. Look at them all.

SpeakerI'm loving this. I mean, come on. It's like I've been waiting to actually see this.

BubblemanI hope Soil Grown comes in soon. It sure would be good timing. Yeah, he hit me up yesterday. He was excited. I put it inside the parchment. Send him the link, Cuban. Okay, go ahead, Jeff.

SpeakerGot it inside the parchment. Got a little bit of room there so that it's kind of, you know, up here in the center of the parchment. Pop the... And then I take a dab. Yeah!

SpeakerI'm doing something in the background at the same time he's doing it. There it is. Dabs.

SpeakerOh, I have so much material to do that with. So you can take any two-star, three-star, if you want, four-star, and do it up, and it works just great.

BubblemanSo the 25-micron bubble bag screen is the key tool to the rosin tech that Jeff's showing right now. I guess... I guess those are about to get popular.

SpeakerYeah, 25 micron screen, it's the way to do it. And you know, if you're at 230 degrees, you're not melting the plastic screen. I had worries about it when we first started pressing with it, and I have pressed a little hotter, and I definitely felt like I got a little bit burnt on it when I was up at 380 degrees, which is what Soil Grown and a lot of other people have been doing for flowers.

SpeakerAt 230 degrees, I feel fairly comfortable, but I'm not melting that plastic. It hasn't broken down at all.

BubblemanAnd I mean, you're pretty OCD like myself. You're all about the flavor and the enhancement. I'll tell people about Jeff. I've known Jeff for, oh, it's got to be like 12 or 13 years. I think it was Marbleslinger who introduced us.

SpeakerYeah, 2001, I think.

BubblemanYeah, Jeff was blowing the double bubblers, similar and different to the ones that Jason Lee and all those guys, Slinger and whatnot, were working. There's a Max. Is that a Max? Of course it's a Max. Jeff was friends with all those guys, and that's how I met him. And he was always like an early bubble ambassador that, like, got it right away. And he had, like, the Albert Walker, and he had the Hamster, and he had these other, like, Crazy strains that no one else had that always produced just the uber full melt.

SpeakerJeff was one of the few people in the U.S. that was bringing bubble bags across. I remember you ordering them.

BubblemanHe got it right away. He would order 30 sets at a time in 2001. I bought those from him.

BubblemanWicked. Yeah, bubble ambassador for sure, dude. So it's nice to see you on Hash Church, like, showing everyone the rosin updates. I bet you that little clip of you just doing that right there will be viral.

SpeakerViral, Jeff. Viral. Viral. Yeah.

BubblemanThat's awesome, dude. So it's just a standard little hair straightener, 230 degrees, less than 30 seconds.

SpeakerYeah. I like the tech of rolling it into a ball. Thanks. That's awesome. Yeah, this is what it looks like afterwards. There's definitely some rosin that's left on the screen, but it's like a fairly dry cake after you're done.

BubblemanI'm sure if it built up over time, you could crack that off in the freezer pretty good.

SpeakerWell, what I do is I take it and wash it in ethanol every time. So in between batches, I'll take the screen and throw it in a jar of ethanol, and I just give it a rinse, and then I rinse it off with clean ethanol to make sure it's all clean, dry it off before I do another batch. But then I've got something that I can either make into an oil, or it's a really great temperature.

SpeakerYeah, no doubt, for sure. One thing I want to share with you guys, because this is PTFE film, which is rated to 500 degrees. Yes, got it. Right. This is, it's also, it says right on here, non-solvent. So it's a non-polar, it's resistant to non-polar. So this is what I've been, when people are asking me how I'm getting those like shots, I'm using this paper and this little guy.

SpeakerAnd then I do, you could do a finger test. I only turn it on for like 10 seconds and touch it. So this is taking, this is already taking a five minute. Five star, you know, or six star, whatever you want to call it. While you guys are talking, same thing. GG. Same thing. I like the way that works. I like that silicone oil slick pad there, that stuff.

SpeakerI got the same roll. It works great. Sure looks nice anyway. You can peel it off. It peels off real easy. Oh, yeah. Now, if you do it the right way, and you do it with... Dude, that shit's six star for sure. It's seven, come on. That looks pretty nice.

BubblemanPick up one of these. What's that, a taser? No, it's a digital... The laser thermometer.

SpeakerThe laser thermometer. Key. So right now you're at... You're running at, your face is 75 degrees.

SpeakerMy mothership water is sitting at, let's see here. Oh, it doesn't like water too much. It's sitting at 80 degrees. I can't believe it's that hot. I mean, those laser things, they, you know, the accuracy of them is subject to how reflective the surface you have is as well. Yeah, I know. This hash is sitting at 69 degrees. Right. So if you get over 100 degrees on this thing, then you're going to start to cook off any of those turps.

BubblemanLess than 100 degrees. Forget about it. Turps cook off at room temperature. That's why you can smell them in the air when you put your nose up to the hash.

SpeakerAnd then these... This I'd set out a little bit, and then it gets really kind of, if you just let it set out, it gets a little gooey. It gets almost like a live resin.

BubblemanWhen we get it figured out, we will trip balls when we preserve what I've only heard called super terpenes. But a gentleman by the name of Indra, who first put BHO online in 1999 on Eroid.org, or Eroid, however you want to pronounce it. Now, he told me that when he figured out his cryogenic method, that he was now preserving terpenes that most people didn't even know existed.

BubblemanWhen I mentioned them to Robert Connell Clark, he called them sesquiterpenoids. Now, I don't know if those are like the most volatile of the lot, but they're the ones that are, I guess, the most difficult to preserve, easier for a cryogenic process because the temperatures are so low, so extreme.

SpeakerI think you're going to find that when you get, when people get into those temperatures and stuff, there's a lot of volatile terpenes at different temperatures, and when you're preserving them really cold, You know, they're caustic and there's different things that could happen. I wouldn't be surprised if you found something I was working on a long time ago, but I wouldn't be surprised if you found a fuel source out of that.

BubblemanA what?

SpeakerFuel source.

BubblemanOh, yeah, there you go. Something of value for certain, you know, some sort of value. I mean, it's definitely those terpenes we know are important because they are the ones over time that have attracted the human race to the plant. By evaporating out first and us smelling them in the air. That's definitely an important connection that humans have to cannabis is the olfactory. Guaranteed smell brought us to this plant.

SpeakerDr. I think that's why BHO is so popular because it's essentially a frozen process. The solvent stays liquid at a frozen temperature. You're going from cold to try to get it warm to purge it rather than let's say like Alcohol, you're pretty much starting hot to try to get it off. I think the whole process why BHO and propane and everything else have been extremely popular is just partly because the natural process of using butane as a solvent to keep it under pressure, it has to remain cold, which is helping in preserving all those terpenes you're talking about.

BubblemanAbsolutely. So imagine for Indra, who came up with the BHO method for cannabis, was the first one who released it online and whatnot, and I believe holds a patent in regards to it. That was his starting ground. This is where he started. Where he ended up was with a cryogenic machine that extracts in under 10 seconds 100% extraction with zero footprint, which are both unheard of and impossible in the world of extraction.

BubblemanSo I was a little bit kind of questioning it. So I said, well, I know you can't send me any product because you're down south and I'm up north, but what if I were to send you some hemp seed from a grocery store? Would you be able to de-fat the hemp seed the same way you would extract, you know, a cryogenic process should be able to de-fat?

BubblemanAnd he said, absolutely. So I sent him these hemp seeds, and they were yellow de-hulled hemp seeds from Manitoba Harvest, my old partners in Manitoba. And I bought them from a local grocery store and then sent them to him. And he sent them back to me in a bag. The hemp seeds were white and completely intact. They weren't crushed or squeezed or anything. And then he sent me this lab bottle that, you know, these special airtight, light-proof, full-on essential oil bottles that hook up to machines to get filled up and then sealed without having to ever be removed from the machine.

BubblemanVery specific scientific bottles used in labs. He sent me one of those, and when I opened it and poured the hemp oil out, it was like as gold as the goldest honey oil you've ever seen. I had never seen gold oil that hadn't been filtered through carbon. So if you filter hemp seed oil, because hemp seed oil is cold pressed, and cold pressed is really a misnomer because there are temperatures above 150 or 180 or something sometimes reached, The squeezing of the cakes with the metric tons of pressure, and so what that does is it creates a green oil.

BubblemanThis guy sent me the goldest oil and the whitest hemp seeds, told me to have them tested, and he said that when I did have them tested, they would for sure test higher than anything I had ever tested, and maybe even the labs might want to test them again because they might think their machines were broken. And lo and behold, I had his stuff tested, and the The powder, which wasn't powder, it was intact hemp seed hulls, de-hulled hemp seed embryos, they were 62% protein powder isolate.

BubblemanNow, that's 12% higher than the highest protein powder isolate sold on the commercial market today, which is also my ex-partner's Manitoba Harvest. So right off the bat, like a 20% increase in the quality that they were considering their best. This guy just knocked it out of the park. And then the oil, well, the oil was like ridiculous how good it was, how much of the essential amino acids were still present, how low the percentage of, I guess, what they're called, like when the oil goes bad, it's like this turpentine smell.

BubblemanIt's like terpenes that are going bad. They produce these caustic, nauseous substances, and they ruin the oil. They can actually make you sick. His had the lowest amount, so when he did that, I understood that this process was real. He had some type of an ability and that I should probably pay some attention to it. I haven't heard much since, but I think in this future, as you see everything growing, you'll see this gentleman stand up, and he'll start showing himself again, and he'll start hopefully giving us more exposure to cryogenic extractions, you know, because...

BubblemanReally, the most impressive thing that he was talking about that I liked was that his process was so clean that he could get 100% extraction ratio, which is so unheard of, it's ridiculous. And then to leave no footprint, you know, when you use a solvent, when you use water, I know that they call it solventless, but water is a solvent, it's the universal solvent. And if it wasn't acting as a solvent in the process, your water would be completely clear at the end of washing a batch, and it is not clear.

BubblemanIt's very colorful because you've removed water-soluble terpenes out of the plant, resin, and other things potentially out of the plant, water-solubles. No one can argue that because if you've ever looked at the water after you've run a batch, in over a thousand batches, I've never seen clear water after I run a batch. I've seen some pretty nice gold water. But never clear. 500 people watching.

SpeakerWhat was the solvent that was used for that extraction then?

BubblemanFor which one?

SpeakerFor the hemp seed extraction. Do you know what he was using as a solvent?

BubblemanNo, he's not using... Here's the thing. I don't know at all. I have no idea whatsoever. I merely know that in the time that he can do it and how fast and quick the setup is, it's like perhaps... There's no solvent touching the plant matter. Perhaps the solvent that's used to get down to those temperatures, if it's a solvent at all, is on the outside of a chamber that the herb is on the...

BubblemanI have no idea, because he's literally like Skunk Man Sam with this piece of... He said, this one's for me and my son. It'll come out one day. Now, keep in mind, the story this guy told me... I'll go one even further to trip you guys out. This dude was living in an ashram in India... Totally stoked to spend the rest of his life there as a young man.

BubblemanAnd then his, like, Baba Sadu dude, you know, is like, I don't like to call them gurus, but, you know, his little buddy there, came home and was like, hey, man, you got to go back to North America. And he was like, what do you mean? I don't want to go back to North America. He's like, yeah, yeah, I had this dream. You're going to go back to North America.

BubblemanYou're going to create this incredible device that extracts essential oils from plants. And he was just like, what the fuck are you talking about, man? I want to hang out in India and live on the ashram. So this is the story he told me. I suspect he's in his 60s now. Very interesting, man. I do hope that one day we hear more about cryogenics and cryogenic extraction.

SpeakerThings like gases can be solvents even, you know, at the right temperatures, pressures, all kinds of stuff. So, you know, GW Pharma's

SpeakerTrademarks are pretty, or I mean not trademarks, patents that they've applied for spell out a lot of different things that it's pretty interesting just reading through it. You know, what they've found out alone, much less, you know, what other people have gone and found out as well, like the guy you're talking about.

BubblemanSure. You know, the funny thing about patents is they're really only as strong as your ability to defend them. Obviously, GW has a strong ability to defend their patents. But that's not to say some little guy could come along and just destroy those patents because they're too broad or because he finds some super random previously published art or knowledge that was released before the patent. There's so many different ways.

SpeakerBut there are 50 of them on Google already, so it's a lot to fight.

BubblemanOh, yeah. No, trust me, dude. I fought patents for eight years.

SpeakerYeah.

BubblemanFor eight years, I just felt like it was wrong, and then not really eight years, about six years, and then as I finally started talking to Reinhardt, I felt like, you know, this isn't a guy that's out to take advantage of the scene. This is a guy that showed a machine, and right away after that, bags were created based on his machine. Nothing more than that. How about that?

BubblemanSo, I mean, all I know, if my grandma was still alive, she'd be like, hey, That's wrong, you know.

SpeakerWell, anyone can file a patent thing, and there's a difference between just filing a patent on a methodology of extraction. And an apparatus. And then there's an apparatus.

BubblemanYeah, Reinhardt has both.

SpeakerYeah, then there's, not specifically for that, but you were mentioning something else, but like when GW says, hey, we're going to just patent every ratio of cannabinoid, And they got kicked back on that. And the U.S. government owns the patents on, say, cannabinoids. They didn't identify the ratios. They just identified cannabinoids. So GW came along and said, hey, we're going to try to patent every single fucking ratio.

SpeakerAnd then you've got Gary Johnson, politician from New Mexico, that actually tried to patent strains. And so really when it comes down to it, it's all that stuff is kind of ambiguous and to me it's kind of bullshit. So what I did that was a little different was the use, the composition of use. How do you use them specifically for what ailment and how are you delivering them?

SpeakerThat's what's key. That way, it's not saying, hey, I'm going to patent a strain, or I'm trying to genome map or sequence to patent a fucking strain. I would never patent a plant or a strain. If somebody comes along and says, hey, we found a way to use natural plant fats, polarize them, and create a pharmaceutical grade of delivering cannabinoids specific to the central nervous system or the immune system, well, that's what I'm doing.

SpeakerSpecifically targeting conditions and ailments. Application and intended purpose are very important in the way you word your patent, what it's used for, all that stuff, absolutely. Like Bowman said, you're really only as strong as your lawyer that wrote it for you, so to speak, in that realm. And how long you want to fight someone over wording or technicalities, that's, yeah, absolutely. Yeah, I really, I did it because I'm, honestly, it's only a matter of time before Big Pharma tries to come in and fuck us up, dude.

SpeakerRight, well, as soon as we go from schedule one to schedule two, that's the open door, right? That just happened in Michigan, and that's what, so that's kind of interesting because that's what our, that is what the whole conversation that sparked that a long time ago was. When I was, you know, using every playbook possible in the beginning when we went public to try to figure out how to fight those guys.

SpeakerAnd when that whole little thing spouted out between with the GMOs and Monsanto bullshit. Which a lot of people don't know that, you know, in the beginning that was you and I. It was kind of you made a little post and then we didn't know each other. And people just kind of went with it, and some people out there still actually believe that somehow we're tied to Monsanto or doing some kind of GMO frequency change and things.

SpeakerWell, people can't read, unfortunately, most of the time. So then we became friends from it, though, and it was a totally different thing. Yeah. But in that process, we did, the guy that was helping us, The guy that was working with us at the time, his dad for free, kind of helped us in that transition and kind of told us what we were up against. We were a little bit more naive, I think, at the time.

SpeakerWe were pretty naive as to where Big Pharma was and where their position was. And so as soon as I heard that, you know, they wanted nothing more but to reschedule to two, three, or four. Any one of those, I mean. Anything not one. Yeah, which is fucked up because we all want it to be less than one because then people don't go to prison and there's all kinds of other stuff.

SpeakerBut now we're at a catch-22. So almost a year ago, I was screaming up and down going, you guys just don't understand. And, you know, I just kind of kept quiet about it. We're doing our own thing. But I would be very, very, very keen on, Those law changes, like Michigan is now scheduling it for a two, and I heard there's a bunch of like Canadian companies up there that are trying to like lobby and do all kinds of crazy stuff in Michigan, like Big Pharma.

SpeakerThey're buying land and stuff. Yeah, I mean, you know, I don't really have a personal opinion on the whole medical thing in terms of how it should be done, but I do think there is a very clear difference between recreational use and medical use, you know. I'm not saying it has to be the same thing or any of that. I'm just saying that people that have legitimate illnesses that need to get treated I think should be treated correctly, not just like homebrew, treat yourself.

SpeakerIf it works, it works. If it doesn't this time, you're screwed based on what plants you're growing, what strains you're growing, what cannabinoid profiles of that are. I'm a scientific person by nature, so anything that's

SpeakerWe've got a lot of great people here. We've got a lot of great people. We've got a lot of great people. We've got a lot of great people. We've got a lot of great people.

SpeakerThank you so much for joining us today.

SpeakerWould be considered therapeutic or medical? Is this the most effective way to deal with pain management? Probably not. Would sublinguals or capsules targeting specific conditions work better? Yes. But am I getting a 40% to 50% effectiveness from smoking this? Absolutely. Yesterday I had migraines. I've been moving for two days. I've got migraines. I've got muscle pains. My hips are fucked. My back's fucked. I'm in serious pain.

SpeakerAnd a couple dabs of Full Melt, I'm moving again within 25 minutes. So, it's social, it's effective medicine, it's just how effective you want to be. And I think that as we get more into the recreational market, there's guys like who's in this panel and guys that are watching, you know, quality has to be, At the foremost, especially for recreational, what I've seen in Colorado and in other states that have gone rec, it's gone to shit.

SpeakerAnd so even with the original organization that I started, I'm not going to say it's gone completely to shit, but I can tell you that a connoisseur grade, high end quality, It's going to get lost if you don't have a team of people from genetics, cultivation, processing, quality control, if you don't have people constantly pushing the envelope as a team. Once you disassemble the team and somebody thinks, well, I'm a great hash maker, that means I'm going to have great hash with this grow.

SpeakerThat's not necessarily true. Most of the people on the panel understand that, seed to resin, if you will. You know, a human does all his growing, all his own resin, all his own extraction. I think when you start to get, as we get past this bubble on the rec world, we're going to get back to the boutique and the high end. There's always going to be a market for the cheaper stuff, but I just don't, I think people are going to get smart, just like the medical industry.

SpeakerIt took them two, three years. It went from somebody walking in saying, hey, do you have this strain, There's somebody walking in specifically asking about a micron of resin. You know, it's the evolution of the medical side has been educated. So it's only a matter of time before the public gets educated and they'll see poo-poo versus poo-well, you know?

BubblemanTrue enough. And I want to take that break to welcome Soil Grown from Instagram Live Bud and Bud Rosin Tech fame. Squisher.

SpeakerThe Squisher.

BubblemanSquisher.

SpeakerFlower Rosin.

BubblemanFlower Rosin guy. We got Flower Rosin guys, we got Hash Rosin guys, we got Dry Sift Rosin guys. I'm trying to cover all the bases here.

SpeakerI don't rosin my Dry Sift, man.

BubblemanI rosined someone else's dry sit today that was not very good that they gave me a long time ago and I was like, ooh, I don't think I'll ever smoke this. And then I rosined it and it was like, well, just wait until you see the photos.

SpeakerYeah, I did something similar. I was gifted some trim bin, Keith, of some, I don't remember the exact strain, but OG Cushman gave me two different... Keith's from his trim bin. It was like about a gram each. One I was able to clean, but the other one had like slightly oxidized and greased together. I did the rosin tech to it and it actually came out to be a nice clear patty after I worked it.

SpeakerIt was pretty cool. But that's the only time I've ever heat pressed dry sift like that.

SpeakerI'm going to go try some raws and I'm going to go get an iron. I'm going to keep watching and stuff like that. Purchase full with some other guys that want to jump in. As always, peace and love. I love you guys and we'll see you guys again soon. And if it empties out, I'll jump back in.

BubblemanYeah, come back in a bit, Johnny B. We'll see you soon. Johnny?

SpeakerActually, he's getting off pasture to go get an iron. Ha, ha, ha, ha.

SpeakerHow about a panini press? I saw that little, I saw something online, like a meme, where somebody was taking like a grilled cheese sandwich and a panini. Yep. You saw that? It was going around. The George Foreman one. Yeah. That was funny.

BubblemanI saw the George Foreman one, dude. Rosentech.

SpeakerI saw a funny meme. My boy Daggy sent it to me on the email. He's in some Facebook hash group, right? And it was something like when you think you have a lot of dry sift and it shows Aaron with like his bags of keef and it says, but then Aaron whips out his dry sift or something like that. In hash church. That's funny.

BubblemanDude, that shit was hilarious when I first saw that. I was like, okay, that's pretty good.

SpeakerYeah, so I was down in Oakland and sitting around with my buddy Space down there. Nice. Yeah, yeah, Milton Bubbly on Instagram. And we're like, I was like, hey, so have you seen this rosin tech yet? And he's like, no, no, what's the rosin tech, you know? And he's like, you know what you mean, like rubbing hash on a bowl? Because he knew the old school tech from back on Overgrow, you know?

SpeakerAnd I was like, no, no, no, squishing a bud. And he's like, what are you talking about? I'm like, okay, well, you got a flat iron? He's like, no, no, I got a t-shirt press, though. So we went in and used the t-shirt press, and that's where we came up with the screen tech. Because we were like, we were just squishing stuff on the press, like whatever we could do, and it's like this big old t-shirt press, you know?

SpeakerAnd then we were just hanging out, taking a dab, and homies were like, Let's use the pressing screen to hold back the plant material and the contaminant that we don't want. We just want the oil.

BubblemanIt makes total sense, man. I could totally see you guys coming up with that. That's hilarious.

SpeakerI was over talking to Josh and Josh was completely baffled when I told him that people were squishing nugs with flat irons. He was like, wait, what? People are doing what? It was pretty good.

BubblemanYou know what? To me, it's still less shocking than spraying your buds with butane. I'm sorry.

SpeakerMe too. I'm surprised this didn't come up first. I mean, we have these, you know, everybody's buying It's like tens of thousands of dollars worth of closed-loop extractors, and everybody's building them, and you've got vacuum ovens and everything, right? All you had to do was squish it with some heat, and you're like, bam, pretty damn close already. It's like, what? How did someone not put a butt in their shoe back in the day and this happened or something, you know?

BubblemanTrue. Pretty wild.

SpeakerThe heat has a lot to do with it though, man, like dialing it in. I started trying to, I'm bad at the flour rosin, straight up, I'm just going to say. I either don't get enough oil because I do it too hot or, you know, I don't have a shirt press, it's a little nugged at a time. But from what I've noticed is like less heat and more time and more pressure gives you like the best result.

SpeakerAnd I was surprised seeing online some people hating very high percentage on terpenes. On the flower rosins, it's starting to get lab tested and the lab tests are pretty remarkable, man. For something as simple as it is, I mean, it's heat to extract the oil and you would think, I mean, it justifies logic. It tests high in terps, it tests high in THC, it looks clean, it's no chemicals.

SpeakerI think it's a pretty cool thing. They just need to find a way to produce more of it.

BubblemanI just posted the photos on my Facebook and I'm about to put them on the Bubble Man page. Do you guys want to go peep the few photos that I just did of the rosin from the dry sift? Just a little bit on a skillet tool or a happy daddy tool. Shows some nice gold color though. What I noticed was if you pull it out and it's still gold, it's definitely better than if you get it too red.

SpeakerSo I go at 230 degrees, no longer than 30 seconds. And we got the precursor tested, so it was 160 micron bubble hash, three star. The same exact stuff I just squished out here. And, you know, that stuff, I posted all the test results on the Hatch Church Facebook group, so if anybody wants to take a look at it. But that stuff, you know, it had an amount of terpenes in it, and then when you went To the rosin, it had a nice increase in terpenes.

SpeakerSo I thought that I was going to actually have a net loss in terpenes. Like I thought, sure, I'm removing the contaminant. I'm getting rid of what I don't want in there. But I'm doing it at 230 degrees, right? So even in 30 seconds, I smell the loss. I know there's some loss there. And I was shocked. I was shocked to actually see the test results come back saying that there were more terpenes.

SpeakerOf the eight terpenes that they tested, there was more in every single category. Every single one of the terps was higher.

BubblemanI believe that because you decontaminated so much weight. And got just those oils out. The only thing that I would suggest is that we take the testing to the next step and we actually test what those terpenes are that you're left with because I would have to think they are drastically different than the terpenes that were not, you know, before they were heated. And maybe Mark can talk a little bit about that in regards to how heat affects terpenes in the testing.

SpeakerWell, we... Go ahead. Heat and water and trace amounts of contaminant can really affect the terpenes and so some of the terpenes are what are called metastable which means that in certain environments under certain conditions they're stable but when you start handling them either in the extraction process or if you're handling Things that either come in contact with water or heat or both, that chemistry is going to happen and those are going to rearrange to different terpenoids.

SpeakerThe terpenes themselves are molecules that are free of oxygen, right? So those are the things like myrcene and limonene. But when they start reacting in the presence of trace amounts of acid, and sometimes just the acid from your fingertips is certainly enough to catalyze the hydration of terpenes to make what are called terpenoids, which is when oxygen starts functionalizing these molecules.

SpeakerHey, you know, going to the hash was a thing that the Rev is pushing the 160s. I used to throw away, like, for example, the 190, and now I just keep the 190s. I keep whatever I can because you can juice a pretty good patty out of those bigger heads. Even if it has a good level of contaminant, the oil content in them is still pretty high.

SpeakerMy highest yields on the rosin have been on the 160s. I mean, I'm sure if I go on a 73 or 90, it's going to be higher, no doubt. But on something that I wouldn't normally dab to make it dabable, 160s are choice. Way better than doing the 45s. I got a 55% yield out of the match that I had tested. I just keep the 190s. I keep whatever.

BubblemanHey, welcome, Mike.

BubblemanIn the hash making room, I see.

SpeakerLet's go, Mike. And we have Soil Grown on there. I saw his video feed is working.

BubblemanYeah. Is his video now working? Oh, yeah. Look at that. There's his bubble later, bubble now thing.

SpeakerYeah, but we have to see. I wonder what made him put a nug in a flat iron. You know what I'm saying? I know, I know everybody that has a technique, you know, they figured out a way to do something, they stumble upon it or whatever the case, but what made him put a nug between parchment paper and squeeze it, you know? That's interesting, man, because it really is starting like a whole classification of oil of his own.

SpeakerI wonder if he knows that. I think it absolutely will create its own classification. Of course. It already has. I think it can be applied on a large scale very easily. Even more so easy than BHO in terms of extractors and all that. Heat and pressure is easy to do from a mechanical standpoint. It's just about building an apparatus that can house it, create the pressure, and then You know, you can have a heat jacket on it, or there's a bunch of other different ways you could just heat the thing and find out whatever the very lowest temperature that you could continue to extract at if any temperature application at all is needed if you get to high enough pressures.

SpeakerSo, to me, it's just, it's such simple technology, yet I think potentially can be one of the most effective technologies from a production standpoint.

BubblemanI do like the idea of a machine that goes and harvests the resins living off the plant. You just like, boom, like let that thing grow for a little longer.

SpeakerAll right, put it back on there. The problem with a live resin is that it needs to be cured. You know, it's not storable. It's going to rot when you jar it up live like that. So, you know, sure, a live resin, like, you know, if it had some little conveyor belt for the resins to go on and through a little drying process, And through a little vacuum chamber or something, you know.

BubblemanYep, the ultimate. That's it. Yeah, I mean, I feel the same way about dry sift. I do not like dry sifting fresh material. It's dry sifting. You dry it very well. The resin glands sort of raisin up, and then they're perfect. They just stay stable forever.

SpeakerThey're just perfect.

BubblemanHey, welcome, Soil Grown. We see you there now. We were talking about you. Got you on there or what?

SpeakerHey, you know, I really like the filtration that you're doing, Rev, with the 25. That really, that makes it so much better, bro, because a lot of people are wondering, hey, how do you get the particulates out? But with a 25 micron, I bet you can even go smaller. Smaller, just like oil. I bet if you do like a 10 micron or whatever, you can do it.

Speaker25 microns, what came with the bubble bags, so that's how I got it. Yeah, I know. I look at my 25 sometimes and I want to make stuff out of it, but... Hey, I got rolls of this shit. I've cut up my little rectangle. I've cut it up into like four different little, you know, things of these, you know. Yeah. Let me tell you, no, that screen really is...

SpeakerBut yeah, I mean, you know, if you want to have a little bit of a scale up, you just use the t-shirt press and you have like a dozen of these things, you know, and you can squish out a nice chunk at one time and then gather that up. So you've got like, you know. Or you can use a huge screen. But, you know, when we used a bigger screen, we felt like we had to press longer to be able to get all of that resin to come out of the big one.

SpeakerThat was the main problem. The press. Yeah. You know, I mean, there's probably something to mitigate those things. We just were messing around with it one night in Oakland, you know, and it was, yeah, it was awesome. Thanks to Soil Grown for the flower squishing technique. Got everybody thinking, man, you know. It's like, people have been on this, let's do ice water extraction, let's do dry extraction, let's do solvent-based extraction.

SpeakerThere's been three main extraction forms, and now this is a... That has opened up to the world that wasn't there before. And now it's getting everybody to think completely out of the box. I mean, you know, there's obviously going to be a turkey integration with every method that you do except for dry set. Right. You know, you're going to retain that. But pretty much everything else you do, there's something that changes.

SpeakerYeah. I think this falls in line with BHO and And, you know, all of the other solvent-based extractions and really kills them. I mean, bubble, too, because, I mean, bubble is just such a small fraction of all the available resin. Well, each different micron size, such a small fraction of the available resin that you would be smoking on an entire flower, right? So, you know, it's all separated.

SpeakerEach different type of head has a different concentration of cannabinoids and or terpenes. All the surface resin on the plant and everything really can play a factor that you don't ever taste that in your bubble, in your 73 micron bag if all that flavor or cannabinoids are in 25 micron heads. Dr. Something real quick I was thinking about. If we can't actually use a 25 micron screen, one of the things that I'm thinking about, With the Rosin Tech, what we're essentially doing is using the heating to find the melting points of the various lipids, the phyto-cannabinoids and terpenoids, causing them to liquefy, flow out of the chrysalis hairs and the waxy cuticles where they can then flow through the 25 micron screen.

SpeakerMark, I would presume that with You could probably have a heating iron made by a game nail that could have a temperature thermodouple built into the plate and then just sift onto a, you know, whatever size heating iron, press it down, and then let the oleoresins flow through that 25 micron screen and be collected.

BubblemanHave a little catch plate so it drips. That would be pretty sweet.

SpeakerRight. I think the main thing is, you know, I think the heat's the easy part with this. Increasing the pressure so that we can take the heat down is going to be where we're really getting to preservation and high quality. Let's get the pressure up because it's not just heat that's extracting. It's the heat and the pressure, right, is doing it. So if you just heat the butt up, it's just going to cook off.

SpeakerYou have to actually squish it out. So the better you are at squishing, and we all know pressure equals heat, but you actually, I went and got a 12-ton press, and you start squishing some stuff with that, and it definitely works to increase the pressure and lower the heat, because those plates that we were using from the kiln were not as hot as the iron is, right?

SpeakerThey were like 150, I could still grab them with my hand and not burn myself. It was completely working at 12 tons of pressure rather than, We're pressed out with holy water. It was like holy water. It was so liquid that you couldn't get it off of the parchment. That was partially the strain, too. It was a lemon-G hybrid. The point I'm making is that when we use the press, the thing is you're still just pressing it into a flat area that's not a confined space.

SpeakerIt still has the ability for it to expand. If you were pressing it with 12 tons, it would get I mean, the bud was like, you know, a couple inches, whereas when you were doing it by hand, it would have been maybe an inch, right? Yeah, yeah.

BubblemanHey, I wanted to take this time to welcome Soil Grown and maybe let him tell us about how he kind of moved into this squishing buds thing that he's been doing, dude. Welcome.

SpeakerThanks, man. Thanks for having me.

BubblemanGlad we're working out here.

SpeakerGood. I mean, I'm amazed to see this thing take off, you know, from squishing buds. Squish father. Yeah. I guess you could say. What made you squish that first bud in the parchment, man? I mean, it all comes down to I'm a hash bean, you know. I like melts. I like to dab. So getting low on my melts, I really started playing around with it when it came to my no melts.

SpeakerI started running and getting low on my melts. So I started messing with my no melts and I remember looking back to one time when I pressed, I over pressed the bubble with a hair curler rather than a straightener, you know, I was using my wife's curler. Well I over pressed it and I noticed that the oils were separated from the rest of the hash, you know.

SpeakerYou know, I didn't think anything of it back then. I just kind of put it back together, folded it, you know, I had some pressed hash, dabbed it to what it could, you know, some three-star dabbing like three-star. So as I got low on my melts, that's when I really thought about it, you know. It came to mind. So I broke out the flattener, and then that's when I started flattening the hash, and I noticed the rosin coming out, and that's where I would collect it.

BubblemanHey, what brought you to the hair curler? What made you use that?

SpeakerDid you see someone using that, or did you just... Actually, the idea came from Nick T. I seen him using a hair straightener just for pressing the hash. I was rubbing it over the top of my nail so I can press it out, and then using a lighter. Seemed like a much better idea, but I didn't have a hair iron at the time, so I just took my lady's curler, and it worked pretty well.

BubblemanVery cool. I like following it back and seeing the influences, you know?

SpeakerBut the whole flower, you know, pressing the flowers and getting the oils from that, that just came, I would say, you know, luck has a lot to do with it. The simple fact of running out of no-melts now, you know, now it's time to start washing. Just playing around, I guess. I'm sitting here with my father-in-law. I took a bud, and he's like, what are you doing?

SpeakerSo I put it between the straightener, and I squeezed it as hard as I could. I didn't think anything was going to happen. To my surprise, I seen the oils around the flat bud, scraped them up, did it a couple times, and then we dabbed it. No residue. I mean, I was amazed. I was shocked. That's sweet. Awesome. Nice, dude. I love it.

BubblemanI love the story, dude. I love that you can come in and tell the story. I know the hair straightener thing was relatively new. I mean, the first time I saw it, Tony had one in Amsterdam last year, and he was like, he was also, I was kind of like, wow, what are you doing? He's like, oh, I'm just using this little hair straightener. I was like, oh, that's like an interesting sort of way to press.

BubblemanYou know, I go back, way back, using like hot bottles filled with boiling water on heated marble plates and like, you know, Thank you for watching.

BubblemanI did a post years ago with the marble plate heated in the oven. I wrapped the hash in a cellophane and then wrapped that in newspaper and then I moistened the newspaper and then I would put the newspaper on the stove and it would steam the packets inside on this really perfectly low heat. It's an old school method.

SpeakerI did that ten years ago. A couple times on the stove. I guarantee we did.

BubblemanThat was all done up in Whistler at my buddy's house too, those original, because it was in Cannabis Culture Magazine, that story, and then it was obviously on Overgrow and probably whatever other. I know, Tony with the hair straightener. Hey, I wanted to welcome Jibbs and Ken as well. I see the melts are in the house, the trichome heavy extractors. What's up, Jibbs? What's up, Jibbs?

SpeakerJibbs. Not too much, guys. Made it over. Happy belated birthday, buddy. Thank you. Much appreciated.

BubblemanOh, yeah. Happy belated is right. A lot of birthdays in March. I got mine in two weeks.

SpeakerBirthday dabs, though. Look at this fucking banger on the end.

BubblemanYeah, dude.

SpeakerXL banger. Richard, you got the XL? What's up, dudes?

SpeakerWe're coming down this week to get mine, Tony. I'm finally going to be able to get out of PG and get down to pick up my mother's ship. I also have a special guest. I also have a special guest today. Besides the birthday boy from the Melts. I also have Ken. We got Ken, but we also have AJ in the house. It's AJ Asshole Joe, as he's known as.

SpeakerOh, Diesel guy. Sour Diesel. Sour. So he, for people that are out there, maybe we can get him ripped and he can tell us the actual story of Sour so we can get it officially recorded for the Hatch audience. That's killer.

BubblemanWelcome, dude. Welcome, AJ. Ken, Gibbs.

SpeakerPinsky's in the house, too.

BubblemanDude, Pinsky. Welcome, Pinsky.

SpeakerWhat's up, man?

BubblemanTime for a dab. A dunk of a dab, I suspect. What up, Penske?

SpeakerDeep dish. Thanks, Dino. Now you're here. Look.

SpeakerYo, James, what you dabbing on, bro? I think we got some of the Gorilla Glue out. I got some foreign cookies. We can drop in a Death Star jar. That four of cookies in the glue too, man. It's all fire. It's your birthday? When was your birthday? It was my birthday on Friday. Oh, word. It was my birthday on the 4th, man. We're both up Pisces then, huh?

SpeakerAnd you know, Daggy's birthday was on Friday too. My homeboy. It's a lot of March birthdays. Mine's the last day of the month. Oh, look at that. Aries.

BubblemanNice. Did you tell?

BubblemanYou know what? It speaks to the... You know, the everyday guy, you know, the dudes, the young dudes that don't have access maybe but can acquire nuggets. It's definitely like a unique thing that I would have loved when I was younger. Like if we were able to just take my sister's hair straightener and squeeze nuggets and extract pure resin, I got to say that would have been fucking insane.

SpeakerYep, even nowadays in people that are in states where maybe it's not, you know, Tolerating state laws or whatever the case that they have a small amount head stash they can make themselves high quality dabs at. Normally, we wouldn't have a video. Safe access, yeah. Safe access, yeah. You can make a low overhead cost extraction that's safe. Now there's an alternative to the average person with no knowledge of extraction who wants to just go buy a can of butane and a homemade tube and just, you know, possibilities of causing a fire blowing themselves up.

SpeakerI mean, if you cause a fire with a hair straightener, you just... You're just dumb, you know? Yeah, the worst thing I've done is burn my finger from pressing that sucker down real hard. Yeah, man, I wonder sometimes, like, once this blows up more, you know, it's obviously going to get entered into cups and things like that. I guess that's a non-solvent entry. Yeah, exactly. It can be against hash or dry sift, water hash.

SpeakerI guess the clear's in there too, but... It gives the normal person the ability to enter something different.

BubblemanYou'd have to be low on the heat to be competing against Dry Sift, I'll tell you.

SpeakerI'd agree. I'm going to be competing with it. The solvent though, man, that shit, it starts as a solvent extraction, and then if they don't use ethanol for the base, they use ethanol to winterize it, to get all the waxes out. Then they cook all the solvent out that they can. Add a turn. For that clear? Yeah, that I don't understand why they call it solvent free, because if it was made with a chemical, it's solvent.

SpeakerSo you got all your solvents, they're volatile. You basically, when you, you get rid of as much of the solvent as you can, and then you cook off the turps, right? The turps have a much higher volume than the solvent. So basically, all of your solvent is going to be gone, right? Once you've got all your turps cooked off, you remove that fraction, right? You put in a new flask, and Thank you for watching.

SpeakerBut it was not... I mean, I understand that, but if something was extracted with a solvent, what difference does it make if it's from well-purged BHO that has below-trace test amounts, you know what I'm saying? It's the same thing in my opinion, almost. That's why when I see the clear in hash competitions, I think that's in the wrong category. Yeah, I think that it should be... You know, it should not be solventless.

SpeakerLike, if they're entering clear solventless, that's wrong. Because solventless should be rosin, ice water extraction, and dry sift. You know, those are the main three things that are solvent-free. I mean, I think the thing is, if you are breaking the head down, right, using anything other, you know, Like with bubble hash, it's just carrying the heads, and then you collect them. With rosin, you're just carrying the heads and collect them.

SpeakerWith the rosin, you're not using anything other than heat to carry it away, so unless heat's a solvent, it's free. So, you know, heat and pressure aren't solvent. You know, I suppose you could use gases and things like that, like I was talking about before, though, that could potentially, I don't, is arguable to a certain degree, but Still, if you're stripping the head and then recollecting it in another chamber, it's essentially, I don't know, it's kind of a fine line.

SpeakerYou know what I wonder, bro? Rev, you were saying that you tested your 160 and it tested at a certain amount and when you heat extracted it, it came out higher. I wonder if simply just getting rid of the trichomembrane and stuff like that would Like balance out the numbers, you know what I'm saying? So for example, if you have a gram of 99% heads, there's at least a percentage of that dry sift that accounts for like the waxy membrane of the trichome, right?

SpeakerBut when you heat extract, you're eliminating that waxy membrane, you're just juicing out the oil. And maybe that's why because of the, I guess the concentration for the testing, it's more concentrated, you know what I mean? So the numbers stay the same or go up. I don't know if that makes sense. Yeah. How I'm explaining it. Well, there was a lot of contaminant in the three-star. You know what I'm saying?

SpeakerThat was nowhere near 99% heads on that 160. Well, you got it tested before, after, and you got the rest of it tested, so tell them that. Yeah. Basically, what happened was that there was an amount of terpene in the original precursor, and then we made the rosin, and the terpene milligrams per gram went up, right? On the waste material, it was way, way down. The only thing that was left in there was caroffeline, right?

SpeakerThere was a bunch of that, and I'm trying to remember the other one. I posted the results on the Hash Church Facebook group if you guys are on there. If you're not, you can hit me up, Cannabis.Reverend, or CannabisReverend on Instagram, you know, and I'll send them over to you, but, you know. There was no terpene left in the waste product. Although the waste product had quite a bit of cannabinoids.

SpeakerIt was still like near 40%, I believe, cannabinoids in the waste product. But the terpenes were just, you know, yeah, it's not worth it. So it's still a product you can do something with. You could make the clear out of that, right? You know, you could dissolve that with a solvent and remove all of the crap. And cook the clear out of it and you've got, you know, a waste byproduct turned into a pure cannabinoid.

SpeakerOr you can sell it. Is that press with the hair straightener or a big press, a t-shirt press? All the stuff that I've been doing except for the very first stuff that I did in Oakland, I had that one picture of us doing it on the big t-shirt press. That was the only time I worked with the t-shirt press because I just have a hair streamer. I use this thing right here.

SpeakerIt's got the little temperature setting here. Digital, yeah. 230 is the lowest that it'll go, so that's what I use. Well, I temped out my big press at 225 using the PID controller on my e-mail, but I'd have to calibrate that. Yo, you know what, Soil Grown, you weren't in, I don't know if you listened or not, but Rev has been doing the rosin tech using a 25 micron screen and effectively removing all the contaminant out of his rosin.

SpeakerI thought I would share that with you so he could talk about it again because that was crazy. I can imagine you'd benefit from that unless you have your own way of filtering the oil. No, no, I think, I mean, I think it's a great idea. I just, on the, on the, with a lot of pressure, I feel like it's unnecessary. I mean, people are saying there's, their hash is still sticky, they can press it again and get more out, but, I mean, if you apply, I mean, if you tighten up the tension on the press, and you're, you're, I mean, it's basically at the point where it wants to break.

SpeakerSo, when I pull it out, I mean, you're pulling off such flat hash patties, it's like paper. If I were to press it twice, which I have, nothing comes out of it. Um, The only worries for me with the screen is that I'm afraid it's going to act as an absorbent, you know? Right. Yeah. So, I mean, I made a good point with maybe freezing it and trying to get it off.

SpeakerI didn't think about that because then it would be more brittle and maybe chip off, but I'm afraid it's stuck in between the pores of the microns or in the holes, you know, rather than on the outsides. That's what's going to hold it in, in the cloth. So it's definitely stuck on there a bit. You can see that there's a bit in there, but all I do is just wash it in ethanol, right?

SpeakerSo I take my chunk of hash out, right? And I drop this into a jar of ethanol, and it's my wash jar. And I just shake it around in there, and then I pick it out and let it drip, you know? And then... We're going to spray it with clean ethanol and dry it out. Either way, I do it with the hash too. I have the same results.

SpeakerIt spreads the oil more to the outside with the heat and the energy going through. It wants to put it to the outside with all that pressure. All the dry matter is just separating, but it's mostly staying in the middle. You put it together in a ball, And it stays in a ball in the middle and all the resin oozes to the outside rather than exploding and having contaminant throughout it.

SpeakerIt's more separated, easier to collect. Yeah, I mean, at first, you know, like, we pressed it just in between a piece of parchment and it just went everywhere, you know. It was like, whoa, I got like... Like half a dab maybe from a big old chunk I put on there. So then we collected that all up and I balled it up really tight and put it on there and pressed it.

SpeakerAnd then I actually got a nice little rim each time I pressed it. But there was so much of the oil that it was just moving the contaminant out. So we were like... Let's find something that's going to hold this contaminant back. And so we put it in the screen, you know, you put it in there and then you ball it up, you know, and you've got like a little package there and you give it a press.

SpeakerI mean, literally like it's one quick press and you're done. Have you considered... Have you considered taking your screen, I mean, weighing it, and then weighing it after the fact and seeing what your percentage loss is? Good idea. Great idea. Great idea. It's probably minimal, but, I mean, every factor, everything's minimal. There's nothing big right now. At the way it's going, it's in its early stages, whether this is what it is or...

SpeakerI mean, this is just what it is now, but right now it's all small scale. You're collecting small amounts of oil. It's probably the easiest tech there is, but I would say it's the most work. Well, yeah, exactly. Not the hardest work, but the most time consuming. Especially if you're using a hair straightener. I have a question for Horatio. You judged a cup that had a Rosentech entry in it.

SpeakerIs that correct? Yeah. I have, he made me some super silver haze yesterday. Oh nice. Yeah, so I actually became friends with him. How did it fare in the cup? It won second place. Was that the Roji Concentrates? Yeah. Okay. What won? Second place good enough. He won with Girl Scout Cookies, second place with the Rosentech. Very good first place. Um, the first was the Sweet Skunk.

BubblemanSweet Skunk what?

SpeakerUh, live resin. Brindles, and then third was 70 Days, Congo, live resin. Wow. Lots of live red. Well, it was, I mean, it wasn't even like cleaned or anything like that. It was just the, I mean, you've got to now put that back in time. It's getting to closer to a month ago, so it was really exciting to... Was it pressed out? It was probably pressed out with the hair straightener.

SpeakerI think he, it was either a hair straightener or the t-shirt at the time. I don't remember, but... Um, it was that, you know, he had enough for entries worth for everybody, so everyone was pretty pumped, so that usually shoots up the experience. So yeah, if you're first to serve it at a cup, at the, you know, like if there's a cup tomorrow after this hash church, somebody's winning with Rosenthal.

SpeakerOf course. For sure. Awkward silence.

BubblemanFong Rep. Edgar Torres.

SpeakerOh, gee.

SpeakerThis is like the moment of silent spawn group. Everybody's muted. Peace, guys. We've got some company, and I've got to go, and good house church, good seeing everybody. See you next week. Let's go, bro. Have a good one, D. Hope you're feeling better, Darren. Yeah, hope you're feeling better. Thanks a lot, guys.

BubblemanPoor bastard's been sick for a while now, a couple weeks.

BubblemanThis is incredible for how much cannabis he consumes in oral form. A lot of coconut oil.

SpeakerI always worried it was too much coconut oil and it loosed the goose on the other end.

BubblemanI don't know. I eat it every day.

SpeakerOh, that's coconut oil for a moment there. I thought that was some grease. I'm like, man, oh man, that looks like some good shit to dab right there.

BubblemanThat's from D420K, some of his extracted coconut oil.

BubblemanIt's quite delicious.

BubblemanWell, I tried to hook my camera up today, Cuban. I had it all sitting here prepared, plugged into different things and Thank you for watching.

SpeakerThat dude was using last week with a very high resolution. So I might take him up on the offer because I need a good webcam. My resolution looks horrible compared to, at least to yours. Yours is looking stunning, bro. But once you get your camera working, download ManyCam and it lets you use different feeds. And you can change the resolutions on each feed. You can zoom it in or whatever.

BubblemanYeah, yeah. No, I've done it before. It's just I haven't done it in a long time and I didn't really have the right cables, but... It looks like everyone in church is asking about Asshole Joe, Asshole Joe, Asshole Joe, let's hear Asshole Joe's story. I think they want to hear from you, Asshole Joe. What do you say? Got a story for us, man? Let me unmute you, because you're muted.

BubblemanLet me see here. Boom. Oh, Tony unmuted it as I unmuted it. All right. Someone did. You're unmuted, nonetheless.

SpeakerWhat's up, bubble man? Welcome. Welcome, guys. So can you guys see AJ on the right? So I guess I'll start the story. You know, there's a direct correlation.

BubblemanHey, time out. You're Asshole Pinsky. They were asking to hear from Asshole Joe.

SpeakerYeah, yeah, yeah, but Asshole Joe needs to be... I'm just bugging you, dude. You know, AJ needs to be introduced properly, you know, like any other asshole would. Yes. So the legend of the AJ store starts...

SpeakerThere's the Chemdog strains that kind of made their way to New York. And this guy over here, although, you know, doesn't necessarily get the credit for creating the strain because the strain created itself, but certainly was the guy in New York City who was, you know, the first grower to really make the strain famous and legendary. So with that, what do you guys want to know?

BubblemanWhat do we want to know? Well, I mean, geez, we want to know, well, come on, really, why do they call him Asshole Joe? That's the first question you want to know?

SpeakerGood question. Okay. Well, I was named Asshole Joe by a guy named M.J. Gracie, who was a nemesis and now is a good friend of mine. In fact, in We got into a little bit of an argument that led to a tussle, and in order to differentiate me from JJ, Jersey Joe, and another guy named Joe, started referring to me as Asshole Joe. And then when I found out about it, I was amused by it, so I started calling myself

SpeakerIt's a great constituency of people out there doing it. And then my friends all started calling me Asshole Joe, and it just, it caught on.

BubblemanVery interesting, very interesting. Well, so how did this all come about, though, this whole, you know, the origins of the sour? Give us a little bit of the history.

SpeakerWell, back in, I came upon the Chem 91 through a guy everyone calls the Weasel. And JJ. Because I used to be an intern at a nightclub called Wetlands. And I met JJ and the Weasel there. And obviously as soon as I met them and saw what they had, I kept them in my Rolodex and called them and bothered them all the time to get as much chem as possible.

SpeakerAnd I just sort of, you know, Worked my way into the rotation, ruthlessly, because I needed to have it. So around that time, it was all coming out of Staten Island. And so there's a lot of, and nobody knows the real story as to what exactly Sour is. There's a lot of theorizing, you know. I have my theories, you know. People have, you know, theirs, and we don't all agree.

SpeakerBut if I had to guess, I would say that it was Setzy Seed Super Skunk and Chem 91. It came from Chem 91 weed, so that was clearly the mother. But as far as who bothered it, you know, it could have been anything.

SpeakerThere was also a Hawaiian Indica in the room, there was an L5 in the room, and there was Super Skunk. So, the way I remember it, it wasn't Northampton Super Skunk, it was Sensi Seeds.

BubblemanSensi Seeds, eh? I mean, yeah.

SpeakerI had that Super Skunk from, what was that like? And where did that Super Skunk clone come from?

BubblemanEarly 90s?

SpeakerIt wasn't even a clone. It was a seed from Sensi. Sweet. Awesome. Weasel went over to Sensi. I was going over to Amsterdam all the time. Weasel was hanging out with me, and he saw me going back and forth, so he decided to go and bring some seeds back, and he did. The three that I distinctly remember were the Hawaiian Indica, the Super Skunk, and the NL5s.

SpeakerWhat was that Northern Lights 5? Was that the Closet Queen?

SpeakerI don't know much about it. It was pretty looking, but I was never really impressed with it. It wasn't something that I was into.

BubblemanWhat year would this have been? Was it 93, 94, 95?

Speaker93 or very early 94.

BubblemanOkay, all right. Yeah. I got seeds the exact same year from Amsterdam, and it was NL5. I thought they had subcategorized it as the Closet Queen, but I'll have to Google that and check it out.

SpeakerIt could be, yeah, but completely different from in our five days.

BubblemanRight. Yeah, yeah, yeah, totally. This was much more beefy. Thick Nuggets, the one that I grew.

SpeakerYeah. Yeah, so a guy I knew got a bag seed from Dizzle in early or around mid-94.

SpeakerAnd planted it in the end of 94, and I received my first cutting of it as a housewarming gift in May of 1995. That's when I got it. Then we were calling the Chemdog diesel, you know, so it was just diesel. And then After it started creating some hysteria around New York and upstate New York, some friends of mine started calling it the sour diesel because it was making everybody sour because they couldn't get enough.

SpeakerDoes anybody else remember in, I don't know, probably early 2000s there was a High Times article There was one plant per light, probably like 50 lights set up, and it was about diesel, right? It was probably like 2003, I would guess, or 2000, something like that. And it was like a similar story, or maybe it was a couple years earlier than that, I can't remember. But there was like a High Times article right around the turn of the, like 2000 or so, and it was like a one plant per light, big set up.

SpeakerI think it looked like It was in like an office building almost in New York City type style. It was like pretty crazy looking. And, you know, they were talking about how the dude does X amount of dollars and he does the huge one plant per light. And it was just called Dizzle. That's what I remember from the article. I think they were probably talking about Soma Dizzle or something else.

SpeakerThis was before Soma released the NYCD. Didn't he release that in 2002? Yeah, but this was like, it was like a straight Dizzle New York, it was like a High Times article about Dizzle, not like, because I remember the NYCD and all that, I mean that, yeah, that clone where Soma said he, the seeds came over from NY from his buddy and he popped them, or someone popped them and that was a clone from that.

SpeakerYeah, the only real sour that made its way over to Amsterdam was over at Katsu. That was like really the only place. That was from one of our other friends up in upstate New York who also went over there. He had the real sour. Adam might have met him, but he was too proud to put out anything. Yeah. I mean, I would just be interested to look up that article from back then.

SpeakerI'm sure you guys know the High Times guys. A lot of people have also just used the name. Used the name. Yeah, absolutely. Just taken them. I mean, it's already popular and, you know, granted their own thing. I think that's also the reason why, you know, the Dizzle, like, Chemdog came to New York, started being called Dizzle just because Chem was, like, you know, a different, you know, awkward name.

SpeakerAnd it's turned from Dizzle to Sour Dizzle. Because his shit. We used to call anything that was really good, diesel. Like, I got this shit as diesel. You know, like, whether it was a muscle car or, you know, diesel. And so when we was really good, we'd say, oh, it's diesel. And when the first time we encountered the Chem 91, I turned to my friend and I was like, yeah, this is the diesel.

SpeakerThere's no other diesel from now on. Like, we only refer to this as the diesel. And so That's how the name really came to be. No, but the legend of AJ, Sour, came because this guy grew it so well, you know, that from there, and then it was so hard to get that people would become sour over it, eh? You know, in terms of, you know, why they, yeah, maybe there's a story about how he got the name Asshole Joe, you know, from this thing at Wetlands.

SpeakerBut this is the asshole that had weed that was so good that he could sell it... For anything. For, let's say, two to three times more than a pound of head stash would go for in New York, which also made him an asshole. But one of those things that, like, you know... A lot of people were marking it up very high. You know, it was selling for as high as, like, $1,500 an ounce.

SpeakerSo a lot of people were, like, price-capped heavily, and... I think that helped to sustain my nickname as asshole. Yes, yes. Because everyone who would sell it for those outrageous prices would say, oh no, blame me, it's this guy, he's charging me. This asshole. Did he say 1,500 an ounce? It required a lot of effort. At the time, most of the people that even were fortunate enough to be able to buy it And if you didn't pay for it, then you were the asshole for not getting it.

SpeakerAnd the hookup wasn't the price, it was just the fact that you were getting it at all.

BubblemanThat sounds like some Manhattan herb.

SpeakerYeah, well, there was protocol involved. You didn't want to step on the toes of your upstream, you know, so there was always more and more of a markup. You know, just because of how limited he was in terms of the people that he dealt with directly. And we knew each other, for example, but I didn't work with him directly, just out of respect for the guy that introduced us and just how shit typically works, you know.

BubblemanChem guy just mentioned that the Super Sativa Silver, or what is it, the Super, what the hell, SSSC, the Super Sativa Seed Club. Got their skunk from Sam the Skunk Man and also the Hawaiian Indica 7 came from him as well.

BubblemanI'm sure that those ended up getting passed over eventually to Sensi. It's just very likely that that super skunk was a Skunk Man Sam skunk cross or hybrid.

SpeakerThere was a super skunk from Virginia, but the weasel, I believe, had already... Lost it, and he wanted... The question... He had traded for Super Skunk with Chemdog about a year before that, but I believe he lost it, and he hadn't been able to go back and get another... Yeah, the question... So he went to Sensi, saw Super Skunk, and bought it probably because he liked it.

SpeakerThe question I had of a man was, you know, what's the connection between the skunk that came from Virginia, you know, because there's some confusion in the story of the legend in terms of where that skunk came from. But Chemdog said the same thing, like when we talked on Adam's show, Chemdog said, you know, I agree with AJ, I think it was the Tennessee Super Skunk and not the Virginia or Massachusetts Super Skunk.

SpeakerInteresting. Right, so it's not the mass super skunk is the Virginia skunk cut that came from the dude that's the skunk VA Chem 91, is that right? Yeah, which is completely different from the sense you see in super skunk. Right, right, but the skunk VA cut that the dude took out with him to Tahoe or whatever, that guy, that's the dude that the Virginia skunk came from, is that correct?

SpeakerI couldn't say. I don't know. I don't know the guys from Virginia. Yeah. Right. That's where supposedly the Skunk VA Chem 91 cut falls into. Supposedly. I don't know. I wasn't there. I think you're right on that, man. The Northampton Super Skunk came from down there originally. Yeah. One of the guys from Staten Island that I was getting chem from in 93 moved to

SpeakerAnd those are all people that Chemdog was giving cuts to or through that network. Yes. And when I was in LA in 2002 or 2003, I was hanging out with a guy and we started smoking and talking and I wound up going to his office and he showed me At the Cam 91, you know, I was like, holy shit. And, uh... No, this is the Cam 91, right here.

SpeakerSo... Well, through the other guy. Yeah, Bubba Man, this is the Cam 91 cut, right here.

BubblemanWe're gonna try to get a little... And tell us about that a little bit.

SpeakerThis Chem 91 is actually from our friends out on the west coast in Cali, who are east coasters, who used to hang with us on Fish Tour and have had access to those genetics for a while, and it's even tied into this Company A crew as well.

BubblemanWhat year would that be on Fish Tour?

SpeakerSay it again?

BubblemanWhat year would that be on Fish Tour? Like, what span of years?

SpeakerWe started seeing fish in 92, and me and G started hanging in 94. So it was like, you know, early to mid-90s in terms of that. But our friends came out here from New Hampshire and went out to Cali and have been out there for a while. And they had access to those cuts. And I've actually We're continuing to take that whole line forward. Actually, last year at the NorCal Cannabis Cup, this same crew won first place for Chem Scout.

SpeakerThis is it, man. This is the real 91. If only Smell-O-Vision was part of this experience right now. It's pretty loud.

BubblemanWe wish. We could all be sharing such good things. I only asked about fish because I was also around, probably around from 93 to 99 or 98, I guess, was kind of when I stopped going to see them. But I was around at a lot of those shows.

SpeakerYeah, nice. Well, so was I. And Dr. Mark, if you'll unmute yourself for a second and weigh in right now, we're going to talk about something related to fish. Come on, brothers. Yeah, well, we were all there. I got a funny story. So we used to grow the skunk number one up in Fort Collins in early 92. We had original cuts. And Bubble Man, thank you so much for hooking me up with David.

SpeakerWe've had a couple wonderful exchanges by email talking about NMR and all kinds of stuff. So thank you so much for that hookup. So we were going in. This would have been my 30th birthday, which would have been 12-29-92, and we had a nice big quarter of that skunk number one, and we were walking in to the Palace Theater in New Haven, Connecticut, and the security guy kind of hit me in my pocket, and you could just hear the bag crumble, and it just smelled like I just stepped in dog shit.

SpeakerHe basically said, he said, throw your dope in the trash can, hippie. And so I was like, fuck, dude, I got fucking pinged at the door, so I had to fucking take my fucking bag out and throw it, throw it down in the trash can. But fortunately, we had a whole crew of people, basically we were there with Big Phil and Kevin and We had a lot of other backup inside.

SpeakerBut on the way out of the gig, I was there with my good friend JJ from Fort Collins. As we were walking through the lobby of the theater, we saw that that trash can was still there. And so we grabbed the trash bag and ran out of the theater and got everything that was confiscated that night. It was still in the trash bag. And we went around to the back of the theater, and there were a couple bags of mushrooms, and about four bags of weed, and a couple bowls, and we got the mother load that night.

SpeakerSo one man gathers what another man spills, or so they say. And it's funny, so we were underneath this staircase, and Paige came out of the back of the theater. Paige is the keyboard player. And...

SpeakerHe saw that we were down underneath the stairs and we told him the story and showed him our stash and he's like, oh, you guys, and he got in his Volvo and drove away. But yeah, it was a funny night.

BubblemanI wonder if Jerry, maybe those lyrics were inspired by Jerry backstage one day at a concert finding all the drugs that had been taken away.

SpeakerI don't know, man.

BubblemanRob.

SpeakerOkay, I just got to, you guys. I found some hash in my freezer last night that I made probably like around November and I never dried it. So it was fresh frozen. And I decided to just throw in a deep dick banger and not dry it at all. And it's like all powder now. And wow, what a hit that I just got. Like amazing. I just loved it.

SpeakerIt was never being dried. It's been in the freezer for like three months. All put together, the 90, the 120, the 160, the 45.

SpeakerHey, Bubble Man, we got Giddy up here to the right. Hey, what's up, Giddy? What's up, man? Bird's here, too. Bird. And what about Little Bird? Little Bird. Oh, my God. You don't see this picture, bro.

BubblemanWhere's Little Mini-Me?

SpeakerYeah, so, Bubble Man, you know, just the interesting thing, just to tie it up about fish, you know, there's really an interesting correlation. Everyone knows the story about the Chemdog. Oh, look at that. Nice. That's awesome. Props. Props, Bird. Very well done, my friend.

BubblemanWell done.

SpeakerFrom the Chemdog and how the Chemdog came from Deer Creek 91. Okay. Think about it. There's really just an equally important story about, you know, Dead Tor certainly helped to cultivate and move a lot of genetics across the country, but the fish scene really continued that process, you know, in a major way as well. It's important to recognize that.

BubblemanYeah, no doubt. That's true for sure. It's almost as though they were the, well, it's exactly as though the carriers get those genetics out into these different areas. I got a good question for you, AJ, from someone who came from a point where you saw that these pounds of herb could just be sold for such an incredible profit margin and the value of holding onto a strain so tight.

BubblemanAnd now you see everything that's going with medical and it's changing and now you've got little kids that require this medicine for seizures and other people that are trying to shrink tumors and metastatic brain tumors and breast cancers and all sorts of terrible things. Do we share the genetics? Do we get the genetics out there or do we still hold on to them pretty strong?

SpeakerIt's funny because there is a lot of rumors that say that I ruthlessly held on to the The genetics, which is completely not true. I did, for many, many years, I sold them, and not even in a discriminating way. Pretty much anyone who wanted it, I would sell them a tray. I gave it as a gift to a lot of close friends of mine, and every time I gifted it, they You know, that meant that someone else was going to gift it at least five times, and all those people were going to gift it five times.

SpeakerI mean, it's really hard to have something that good and keep it from, like, your friends and people that, you know, that desperately want it, especially when there's a vacuum and you can't produce enough. But I think that what kind of gave me a bad rap

SpeakerI would give it to people and then they would say that I didn't give them the real thing because they couldn't do it right. There's an old expression, how long does this strain take to flounder? You can pretty much ask that question to at least half the people out there that are growing. Dr. We see it happen though right now. How many times have you seen strains that you love turn out horribly?

SpeakerAnything in general in this industry, like it's sad to say, but a vast majority of the people in the weed industry are very forgetful when it comes to favors being done for them and are real quick to naturally assume somebody's hoarding things. AJ can be giving out cuts every day for a year straight, and over on the West Coast, you'll still have people saying, He won't give up that.

SpeakerOr you'll have people who have the actual AJ Cut, but just don't have the skill to bring it to its full potential. And we see that shit all the time. You know, when we were rolling around the LA Cannabis Cup, and this was AJ's first US Cup, a lot of people, you know, both of us haven't been well known in the scene for 20 years because we've been in New York with Planet Safe.

SpeakerAnd, you know, when You know, his business card, his calling card is like, yeah, what's up? And he opens his jar and it's like, you know, it's sour on a level that is, you know, uncompromised. And, you know, that's this cut that a lot of other people have. It's just, you know, you've got to follow the recipe. You've got to be able to do it right. Yeah.

BubblemanI appreciate your opinion on that, AJ, because, you know what, someone like yourself can grow that well. Of course isn't going to have the insecurity of trying to hoard a strain. You just share it, right? And when you share it and 90% of the people come back with it and it's not grown properly or it's not as nice and it doesn't shine through, it's funny that the first thing they're going to think is that, oh, I didn't get the real one.

BubblemanThis isn't the same as that he has.

SpeakerWe have the tools, you know.

BubblemanYep. Well, not everyone has the same skill level when it comes to growing the herbs. That is for sure.

SpeakerAnd the comfortability of being able to go, yeah, I fucked that grill up that time. I did this wrong. I did that. People don't want anybody to know that they ever make a mistake. It's so attached to their... At the risk of sounding arrogant, I believe that sour is a very special stream. And I believe when it's brought to its full potential... It's probably the most medicinal strain.

SpeakerI know Jason had some sour tested recently. You could probably talk more about that. Yeah, actually, Mark, why don't you come off the mute for a second and talk about some of the initial results. Just to bring everybody up to speed, a couple of weeks ago, Mark and I were on Hatch Church talking about cannabis analytics and testing and using something called NMR, which is a nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.

SpeakerAnd basically, just to put it into perspective for anyone who didn't see that show, the current standard of cannabis testing gives you what we're calling the low resolution view of a subset of some of the compounds inside the plant. Using NMR, you get a full spectrum of all the different compounds in the sample. NMR is similar to like an MRI. At a hospital, but this is like an MRI for molecules, basically.

SpeakerAnd back when we first came on and talked about this a couple weeks ago, we just had started working with the samples, and over the last week or so, we started to get the results of that. So of the samples we tested, we did some concentrate samples, we did some CBD samples, and we did a couple of flower samples, and among them, I was was AJ Sauer and Mark if you want to talk about some of the results of what we saw that would be cool.

SpeakerYeah so I mean it was a really clean sample and the way in NMR you know it's clean is that the way that the magnetic resonance phenomena works is that when the sample is really clean you get a very very sharp signal and it almost rings like you're plucking the proton itself Magnetically, you are, and as it sort of reverberates, it kind of rings. And the one remark about the AJ Sauer sample is that, man, it was just really, really clean, number one.

SpeakerNumber two, it had a lot of information down in what we call the fingerprint region. So, I mean, it's easy to see the THCA molecule that's in there. I think that this particular sample had a really very, very clean, not any of the decarboxylated material. So when you look at the majority of the sample, what you're looking at is basically the NMR spectrum of THCA. So you kind of got to see beyond that, kind of like the forest through the trees.

SpeakerAnd what we found in the fingerprint region We're going to talk a little bit about what we're going to talk about today. We're going to talk a little bit about what we're going to talk about today. We're going to talk about what we're going to talk about today.

SpeakerWhat does that do to the terpene profile? Does it change the terpene profile? Does it make the terpenes go away? It'll be really interesting, and hopefully in the coming weeks we'll have lots of results to share on that. Yeah, I think, and that's part of the plan, is to be able to compare, you know, flower samples and concentrate samples of the same thing. You know, the other thing to consider, just a real good analogy for NMR, it's like if you're looking into space with a telescope in your backyard and the resolution that you can see, this is like looking at space, you know, from the Hubble telescope into orbit.

SpeakerYou know, it really gives a much broader view in terms of the different compounds in the planet and really requires the interpretive analysis of a guy like Marx Uh, or guys, uh, you know, who run these machines on a, on a daily basis to be able to, um, you know, really interpret it. And part of the plan is to start to build a library, uh, of different samples and then, uh, have a database engine behind it that can start to do a lot of the comparative, uh, research behind that as well.

SpeakerSo this is all stuff that's, You know, up and coming right now. Mark is actually going to be giving a lecture on using NMR at the ASA Unity Conference in Washington, D.C. at the end of the month. So, you know, we're going to be viewing a lot of that data. We just got sidetracked with the science, which is great, but back to the original point that we were discussing.

SpeakerI never boarded it, and I believe that everyone should have it. I think it's superior to most other genetics that are out there, and I think the world would be a better place if everybody had real good power diesel, and that's all I'm trying to do is make enough of it, and through consultation, through hands-on cultivation, I want to provide it for anyone and everyone. It's not just sick children and people with cancer.

SpeakerIt's Sick fucking minded people out there that are doing sick fucking things to the world that need to fucking learn compassion and need to like stop and think about what they're doing. And I think Sour Diesel is a fucking serious vehicle to get people that are very thick headed to come around and realize what they're actually a part of and what the fuck they're doing to the world.

SpeakerI think that's the most important thing because I think when that happens, I think there isn't going to be so much cancer and sick people and seizures and all this other illness that the world is plagued with. It comes from fucked up leadership and fucked up motivations. I'm not trying to be too tricky. I had to alleviate that sickness, and that's all I've ever tried to do by producing the best medicine for myself and my friends, and then, you know, what snowballed into the whole world wanting to get it.

SpeakerYou know? Yeah, but again, it's not just the cut or the strain. It's how it's done and how to bring that strain to its maximum potential. So, like, you know, it's one thing, you know, in terms of... You know, here's the genetics out there. But, you know, getting the privilege to, you know, have it done, you know, according to the right method and recipe, you know, is really, you know, where things are kind of going in the future.

SpeakerAnd that's, you know, part of the strategy in terms of, you know, getting out to Denver and leaving New York and being able to, you know, have him, Operate in a legal regulated market where some of the concerns really could be focused more on high quality as opposed to how to grow in urban environments, which is not easy. And can't be done in a way that can get this to more people that need it.

SpeakerThere's always been a huge limit In terms of how much can be grown just based on the circumstances of what it's like to grow in urban, you know, not just an urban environment, but a New York City environment where it's like, it's not cheap to get space by any means. I just want to say goodbye to everybody real quick. I'm going to go see my mom and go do some things.

SpeakerGood night, church. Good seeing you guys tonight. And while Wall Street and finance and Rich drug dealers might have paid a fortune for the work I've done, but I've also always gifted, you know, that afforded me the luxury to like take care of people that couldn't afford, you know, high prices and that still needed, you know, what I had. And I, you know, I was like almost like a Robin Hood.

SpeakerI took from the rich and I gave to the poor, you know. And I'm not a rich man now, you know. I've been paycheck to paycheck. I'm not sitting on a goldmine. I had a great experience, and I didn't deny myself too much, but I was also very generous, you know. And most of the people that paid exorbitant prices paid that because they were well-equipped, too, and they could afford it.

SpeakerAnd they were cool enough to get it, you know. I mean, there was definitely a... Bird. What's going on, buddy?

BubblemanGood to see you, dude.

SpeakerYeah, likewise. Flying out next week?

BubblemanFlying out next week, dude. I fly out in like a day or two, like 40 hours or something. I just got home three days ago.

SpeakerYeah, Bubble Man, I'm going to miss you this year in Barcelona, buddy.

BubblemanYou're not going to Barcelona? Why not?

SpeakerI'm going to be at a cultivation symposium in Seattle that's going on on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. And then I have to be back here in Denver. I'll be back here in Denver. So AJ and I have a place out here now, so I don't have to deal with the hotels and all that. Well, sorry, we're staying at somebody else's place temporarily until we get our real place, right, so to speak.

SpeakerBut that's going to take some time, so I'll probably be out here at least through the end of the Cannabis Cup, and hopefully by the end of April, you know, we'll have a more permanent spot in Colorado.

BubblemanNice.

SpeakerI'll be flying out on Tuesday, so I'll be there Wednesday.

BubblemanAll right, cool. I think I'm supposed to be around there the same, either to land on Tuesday. No, land on Wednesday as well. Yeah, land on Wednesday. It's crazy because my manager never sent any of my product there, so I'm kind of like, ooh. Still want to go do Hash Church from Ben Dronker's Hemp Museum there, that 15th century building that he's got there.

SpeakerYeah, I'm going to miss it, Bubba Man. You know, I I remember that's where we met for the first time last year.

BubblemanYes, we did. Barcelona. Barcelona.

SpeakerYou guys want to hear a cool little weed industry story that you'll only hear on Hash Church? Shoot it up. AJ came all the way out here from the East Coast and moved into Denver and is in my old bedroom. Yeah, man. I heard it was good luck. Nice. AJ, a complete random, ended up moving into the bedroom I used to live in on the house on the north side.

SpeakerWild, eh? Temporary arrangements, guys. You know, you know. Let's get it straight. But still, coincidence for sure. Definitely.

BubblemanThe coincidence. Oh, dude, the sheets are

BubblemanNo, Aaron was not on today, Turpin Time, who's asking that question. He's in Ottawa right now, and I believe they're having a meeting in regards to some sort of business or another. That's what he said last week in Hash Church, so I'm sure he'll be back next week. I sent the link out to Dr. David Allen as well, hoping to get him in, talking about the endocannabinoid system, but he's been having computer troubles, and I sent the link to Rob Clark, but my goodness, he could be anywhere.

BubblemanAnd it could be any time. It could be 1 in the morning, 3 in the morning, 10 at night. No idea where he is. I'm guessing New Zealand, but...

SpeakerI just saw that was you on the TV. Is that Johnny?

BubblemanHey, Stevie, you made it in.

SpeakerWhat up, man?

BubblemanWell, you know, we're just all about to hit a bowl, I think.

SpeakerWe're about to light one up of the Chem 91 right here. All right. We got some right here. This is my first time actually showing up with the intention of being a pastor.

SpeakerI've seen a couple of the videos, but I'm still actually pretty new to this moment.

BubblemanYeah, no rules, really. Just shoot the shit. Tell your stories. We don't have any real, you know, structure. We just smoke hash and talk. Sometimes we get magic, and sometimes we just get stoned.

SpeakerSometimes we get both. We've got 140 people. We're all checking it out right now. There's that little face live resin that was made on your machine. Nice. Is that from Heidelberg? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, he called me this morning, actually. Good guys.

BubblemanOh, shit, dude. Sorry, let me unmute you, dude. I just muted you. My bad. Where the heck are you? There you are. It was the background noise. I thought another mic was making the noise that your mic was making, and I muted you while you were talking, so my moment is done. I apologize. Go ahead.

SpeakerNo problem. You guys up in Canada are going to see a lot more of product coming off of Veeam on Tech equipment and running our tech that we train people on. In the last three weeks, I've sold five more machines. Yeah, they're the guys from Twister. Yeah, all good stuff. They're all interested in the machine for sure. And there's some CO2 things lining up up here too now.

SpeakerDid you say Twister? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I've been in contact with them over the last week, too. They're really excited. Yeah, no, no. Matt's a good guy. He's a real nice guy on the phone.

SpeakerWell, yeah, I need to say it's nice. I do like it. You can see how it changes the color on the parchment with the turps, and I realize that with the ratios too, how it buttered up over time because I left it out because I only have small little samples of it just to take a look. But, well, I always go back to the dry sift because it seems to be the best for me.

SpeakerWell, the thing about live resin is the more you get it on taste and terpene and things, The harder it is to wrangle in your stability, and it's so important when you're trying to work stability into your oil, you start reaching into those terpenes. The cool thing about the way we run Live Resin is you have such abundance of those terpenes that you can start to eat it until you really want to increase your stability.

SpeakerTerpenes are oily when you have that basically in your...

SpeakerWell, just as everybody was talking there, I found some, like I said, I found some old nice hash in the freezer that's been sitting there. It was live, fresh frozen, and I just let it freeze the last three months. I haven't touched it. And I threw it in the deep dish and the terp hit that I got from that was amazing. Totally. Like, that was like, wow.

SpeakerLike, I was just like, that was a whole new, a whole new hotline. That's why I was kind of excited and didn't realize you were showing your baby stuff. But anyway, interesting, the more about the terpenes and how everybody's doing it. But anyways, yeah, you know, it's cool. If you make your way up here one day, you can stop by and say hi. Yeah, for sure, I'm going to be up there every night.

SpeakerI'm always scared to try my luck in this country. You guys want to see some of what I brought? Yeah. I can't wait to make it up to Canada. This is directly off the shelf. I smoke what the customers smoke. I don't take any head stash out of our product. I buy all the hash that I smoke just like the customers do.

SpeakerCalifornia for some reason.

SpeakerOh man, people. So yeah, you know what, it was pretty cool because I was just thinking about that with everybody and I had that fresh frozen hash that wasn't cured and now talking about this whole rose and then turps and that and just having that with frozen, I got some sitting there so I'm just kind of curious and throwing it in that bowl, it was so tasty.

SpeakerSo I mean, all these new things around, hash and turps and everything, it's just cool stuff guys. On that note, I'm doing another ballroom. Good shit. We're hitting everything on the sublimator. What was your thoughts on that? Sublimator? Oh. What, are you talking about like hitting the no-melts on the sublimator? Exactly. I'm throwing them in here now, and they're working fine. They're actually average. You're filling your dish with the no-melts?

SpeakerWell, not no-melts, but no-melts. You just scared me for a second there. The sublimator rips would just cake up your... That was 25. I'll put in the 25. But I just did all the stuff that wasn't...

SpeakerWell, you know, it was a different hit, just like the Rosen's a different hit, and they all work when you need them on the road, so. But, I mean, sublimators aren't in the U.S., so most people don't experience that type of a hit. They're used to more of a volcano-style rip.

SpeakerI'm going to do the Rosen on that fresh.

SpeakerWow. Hey, Soil Grown, can you give us a little rundown of what temperatures and generations are the flower naps, or the flower rosin sets?

BubblemanOh, he's muted. I'm not sure if you heard the question. There was a bit of reverberation through the mic there.

BubblemanMight have to ask it again.

SpeakerCan you hear me, Ted? Something about temperature?

SpeakerYeah, I was just asking what temperature and duration are you doing for your flower tech with a flat iron? 325 seems to be like the sweet spot. That's for getting like a decent, like a good flavor and good yield. But I press for like two seconds. I mean with the press it seems to push it out, you know. So I don't really think it's necessary to hold it any longer.

SpeakerOtherwise, yeah, you're definitely going to have some oil that has no flavor.

BubblemanSo when you use the large, what do you press for two seconds with the t-shirt press or just the... Yeah, exactly, like this little guy right here.

BubblemanTwo seconds, bam-o.

SpeakerWhat's your collection rate on that? What's your return when you do the Rosentech like that? Because everybody that's came into my office for the last three weeks has been like, have you seen Rosentech? Have you seen this Rosentech? Yeah, that's fucking cool. They vary. For instance, this Mikado. It's pushing out 17%. You know, I did an ounce pulling 17%, so, like, it depends on how you press it, too.

SpeakerIf you want to do it fast, you're going to probably pull more between, like, it depends on yield, for one, the quality of the resin on the flowers, so, quality of the herb, and then how you break it down. If you press it down in, like, .1s, you have it spread out evenly. Yeah, you'll probably get a bigger yield, but you're not going to be able to press out as much at once.

SpeakerSo, more time consuming that way. Well, it definitely sounds like there's some technique to it, even more than what I anticipated there being into it. I'm going to buy me one of those t-shirt girls. I want to play with it. Right now, for me, it's all about experimenting with lower temps, you know. There's definitely a way to get more pressure. T-shirt press isn't the way to go.

SpeakerAs for convenience, it works, you know.

SpeakerBut for getting that flavor, you know, you got to mess with the lower temps. Not really worry about the yield. You have to have the flour at your disposal to be able to have that trial and error. You got to waste it to taste it. Exactly. I had never seen... That one, like a press extraction of cannabis. I was earlier impressed by the continuity of it. I wanted to get a little t-shirt class just to kind of start where everybody else did.

SpeakerFrom there, I can actually make something that's a little more efficient, a little more easy to use, and offer some... This is the Mikado that I pressed out last night. That was beautiful. It's nice. It's...

SpeakerI mean, this stuff holds, the terps on this is ridiculous. I can't wait to get some of this tested and see what that has.

SpeakerI'm just gathering samples so I can send it all off at once and, you know, have a selection of different testing on different strains to see, you know, with the different yields and the terp profiles and the potency. Well, you know, I find myself thinking how closely related pressure and heat are. So I find myself thinking if you take heat down, you should be able to get the same results from increasing the pressure.

SpeakerSo there's got to be a sweet spot right there that the math doesn't lie on. Well, you're right. There's going to be a happy medium, but the viscosity of the resin, you press it out when it's cold, it's just going to smash in place. With the heat, you know, that's what's lowering the viscosity and allowing it to travel out of the bud, you know. Without heat, I don't see that being possible without a solvent.

SpeakerOh, no, no, no. I agree that there has to be some heat. Yeah. When I was climbing that spot on the heat where you can get it as low as you can possibly get it just so that it Makes the oil viscous enough to transfer and go somewhere. And then, you know, and working that pressure, because like you said, with your t-shirt press, you can't really apply much pressure, you know.

SpeakerYeah, I need more like a two-ton press, you know. Or something that is a calibrated pressure with a calibrated heat, because, you know, I mean, I want to make something that does it. Perfect, consistent every time. And I want to get a t-shirt press just to play with the product so that I'll know where to go in designing a little extraction unit for it that's just a straight heat press.

SpeakerYeah, I mean, it's not my preferred method of extraction, but right now it's something I'm playing with because... I'm just so interested with it. You know, I'm more of the IWE, and in my opinion, nothing really kind of stands out over that. IWE, to me, is the terpiest, and it's more of my favorite flavor profile, you know? Well, I think it's a very pertinent place in at-home extractions.

SpeakerIt can be done safely. I think it's a great alternative to people looking to do small-scale chemical solvent extractions. You know, they want a similar product, but I'm really looking forward to it. Because I would much rather people have a little press machine in their garage that doesn't have any fumes and be doing that than blasting fumes, you know, or doing something that can be extremely... Yeah, for your beginner person who wants to try to extract, I'd say this is the way to go, you know.

SpeakerTry this out. Don't try making some BHL. Leave that to the pros. Leave it to the people who understand and have the knowledge already. You know, try this out. That's more of what this is. And I'm more interested to see how the quality goes in the future and how the convenience and the efficiency of extraction goes. Maybe it does have a place. Maybe it doesn't. But it will always have a place for the person who wants to try to extract for themselves, you know.

SpeakerAnytime you have, I won't say new, because this, I mean, while I haven't seen it, Just the practice of this feels like an older form of plant extraction. It's pretty much extracted oils from plants just about every way you can. Yeah, you're right. But that is one that's a reemergence, in my opinion, that I haven't seen before in my years in the cannabis business. So I'm really looking forward to see if what it has to offer is an extraction process and seeing if there's any way that I can add some consistency to it.

SpeakerWell, I mean, I would say strands on pulling shatter at room temp, you know, so that's also depending on your temps, how long you're pressing for, and strands. So now it's like there's a lot of... You know, trial and error and research and writing it down and keeping track of what's happening and trying to determine what's causing it. Because I don't know what the proper temp is yet, you know, and I don't know how much pressure is to apply.

SpeakerI can only apply so much and I don't even know how much I'm applying. It's all data. You can't just hop onto it and know something in the first couple of weeks. You have to really... You know, experiment, try different things, see if you can lock down some controls and variables, and it's good lab work, you know what I mean? That's how you back up what you say.

SpeakerYou have the numbers to prove it. One of the big benefits that I have here is I have the guys at United Cannabis that put me in some of the nicest labs in the cannabis industry. I have a lot of cool toys, and, you know, we get to... Resources, yeah. Resources. Resources, baby. I mean, and when we go to work, we don't just, we don't crank the radio up and just go in and have fun, you know.

SpeakerWe pick meticulous notes. We know that the data we collect now is data that will be called upon later because... Well, it's the best way to learn and to look back on, you know. Definitely. Otherwise, you're just going to forget, especially if you're smoking all your product, you know. Well...

SpeakerI really think that rosin is a game changer. It takes all of these closed loop systems that people are paying a lot of money for and really brings in a truly solvent-less product that you can have a nice shatter. You know, you can make a really, really nice sappy or a really shattery consistency depending on what that plant material actually has in it. So this is, it's going to be a massive game changer for extraction, like it or not.

SpeakerThere's terps lost for sure, but in every extraction method, there's terps lost, except for maybe dry sift. Dry sift, dry sift, dry sift, you're losing the terps that are on the plant material. You don't lose terps. Industry ever stops. They always, they always stop. That's it. It's always going to have people who prefer what they prefer, and you're always going to have fans of one form or another.

SpeakerSo if you're in the cannabis business and you're making concentrate products, you have a market for CO2, butane, rosin, ice water, dry sift. It's crazy. It's not going to kill anything, but it will show up in content with other ones. I think it will be a little helpful. I think even within those markets, Kitty, you also have different finishes, you know, within each of those patches, you know, so it's really... And that's what I don't anticipate being able to pull off like a live resin-ish style.

SpeakerRight. No, well, what it does is it dries it and presses it.

BubblemanIt puts a quality of resin into the hands of people that would otherwise not have... Thank you for watching.

BubblemanYou see this perfect golden hash or oil squeeze out of the hash. You know, you want to make another little batch there, Jeff? Maybe Soil Grown wants to press some nuggets on church here today.

SpeakerI'm down.

BubblemanI'm set up for it.

SpeakerLet's do it. You know, how the beginners are really looking at me. And maybe, you know, for a beginner it would be good. And then there was a comment about how, you know, our VHO, you know, leave it to the pros. Most of the VHO right now is actually made more by bros. So, and getting up to Vinny's point about, you know, United Cannabis or the work that Mark and I are trying to do, you know, we're really trying to bring more science and that equation.

SpeakerI think it's really, you know, almost three different communities of hashmakers, right? You know, you're a beginner who can work with the rosin. And then, you know, but there is, it's important, I think, to separate, you know, the bros from the pros, and that's why, as the industry progresses and we're able to bring more science into it, it's really being able to, you know, take things forward.

SpeakerI just built a cold-pressed blossom machine. Nice. It was in the other room. It was in the other room I just built one.

BubblemanSoil Grown's about to press up some nuggets, and Jeff's about to wrap up some... I guess three star 160 or something in his little screen packet that he wraps, he wraps it into a, I guess this is you pre-preparing it for, so this is how he prepares it, just as a quick little heat, gets it all gummed up, rolls it into a little ball, wraps the ball into a little piece of 25 micron screen that he got from a bubble bag kit, so the Twists that up into a little ball and then gets that into the parchment paper.

BubblemanI'm not sure what Soil Grown is doing. His tech might be a little bit different from Jeff's because Jeff's doing rosin on hash right now, an upgraded method, and then Soil Grown's doing the squishy buds, squishing buds.

BubblemanAnd you know what? Maybe next week I'll make some water hash and I'll take questions while I'm making water hash. I'll like, oh no, I can't do it next week. I'm in Spain. Well, maybe I can. Who knows? Maybe we'll make water hash at the hemp museum. We'll see how that goes over. You got that all balled up there, Jeff?

SpeakerI just squished up some into some rosin and it tasted fucking awesome. I mean, I'm a skeptic. I was totally... Blown away, using a hair iron, and squeezing, you know, dank herb, and getting the exact flavor out of it. I mean, I have a Lemon G over here that Jeff and I, it's a Lemon G TK Star Dog Cross from Phil at Mindful, and man, it came out like the holy water, like what they sell in the bay, but it's like, I mean, we couldn't even scrape it off the paper, Jeff.

SpeakerYeah, I mean, tiny, tiny, little, like, pinhead-sized toke. And it's all flavor. I mean, I was amazed, man. That's what I appreciate. That's what I appreciate about your perspective.

BubblemanI'm glad that you are willing to... You know, I've found so far the people who have really been the most anti this rosin are seemingly people that have not even tried it one time.

SpeakerI agree with that. So I've, of course, I tried it. Go ahead, Sewell. Go ahead, Sewell.

SpeakerWe're getting good yields from it, man. I mean, shit. When you're approaching high-quality bubble hash type of yields and stuff, it's pretty serious. I get 55% from this 160. It's pretty good. It's just impressive, you know?

SpeakerLike I said, you know, I'm so surprised that we've gone through all the other technological advancements with butane, propane, CO2, and... Look at that. Look at that. Look at that, Katie. Look at that, Katie.

BubblemanLook at that. So that's pretty ridiculous.

SpeakerRidiculous.

BubblemanYou see that, Tony? Would you just squeeze that out of that hat?

BubblemanAll right, so we're wrapping the machine in parchment paper here.

SpeakerWe're using it out. All right, so maybe show us what you got. Oh, yeah.

SpeakerAnd it's great. I love it. You can see it. Yeah, I can see the little coating everywhere. Yeah. That's toothpaste. That's toothpaste.

SpeakerPretty sweet.

SpeakerWorldwide. Worldwide.

SpeakerInteresting. Interesting. I mean, one of the real interesting things about it, I mean, is regardless of whether you like it or not or you think it destroys whatever or not, removing contaminant from anything is good, period. So, you know, if this process removes contaminant from low-quality hash, and like you guys said, for anybody, anywhere with electrical outlet, you know, It's just really awesome. I mean, and I made some rosin out of some real good no milk.

SpeakerJeff made some app gooey, what was that, three or four star that you guys made? Yeah, it was like a little four star. I mean, that stuff was just straight water, and it tasted better than the product that it came from. Better than the best product. I've made like a five-star plus on that. That's the best I've topped out at. You remove the contaminants. You remove that cellulose.

SpeakerYou remove any of the contaminants. When you burn it right on a nail, you've got none of that flavor. You have all of the turps. It's amazing. It really is. There was only 3%. It went from what, 0.7% in the bubble hash? Dr. No, it was actually like 1.4 or something like that. 1.4 to 3.4 or something like that. Basically, 3% increase of the activated amount. I mean, that's a large increase, but when you think about all of the THC acid that was still there, there's a ton that is still there.

SpeakerDr. Well, the thing is, just like all the terpenoid or terpene We're going to talk a little bit about the process of decarboxylation. The process of decarboxylation is pretty simple. The process of decarboxylation is pretty simple. It's all about heating it up to where it becomes liquid. The terpenes are going to become liquid. The resin heads are all breached. The products, just the oil and the turkey flow right on through.

SpeakerAnd, you know, everything else is held behind.

SpeakerThanks, Soil Grown. Yeah, thanks, Soil Grown. Thank you for squishing a butt, man. This is like... Yeah, dude. Yeah, dude. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it.

SpeakerI just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squished it. I just squ 5 micron screen is definitely keeping it clean.

SpeakerWow, it's looking real good. Nice press, buddy. I love it.

SpeakerSoil grown. Let's see that press again, bud. Alright, I'll do another press right now. We're watching this and trying to jump back in and talk about this. Jesus, man. That is such a fucking awesome fumble, man. Like, good job, buddy. Thank you. Hell yeah. Universal high five. Fucking universal high five. Yeah. Damn. That last press I just did, I mean, and once you do that press too, there's a step you want to go through each paper and clear out all the contaminant as in like, you know, the broken particle in it and the hairs.

SpeakerSo that's where at the end product you're going to see a clear, I mean, you're going to have some of it because there's that. And when you have like a properly dried bud, you're going to have less of that actually. So it works with the dry bud as well. Doing it with the properly cured and dried bud, you're not going to have that problem. You'll have a few hairs and maybe a little leaf there every once in a while, but you're going to have a clear quality oil that's stable, relatively stable, depending on the temperature and getting your technique down on it.

SpeakerThere's not much to it, but practice makes perfect. Have you left out some patties for like a week, and does it start to oxidize? Or Oxidize or, um... Butters? Yeah, or butter or anything like that. Uh, yeah, actually I've had this stuff out for about eight days and it hasn't changed its consistency at all. I have a batch in the fridge with, uh, it's not sealed, it's just open.

SpeakerSo, uh, it's the same. It hasn't changed consistency. That's been in there for two weeks.

BubblemanSorry guys, I just had to mute Fletch and Darren because for whatever reason Soil Grown's mic is causing a hella echo and this is good, important conversation that we don't want to miss. So we'll just have to go a little bit slower and let's try not to all talk over top of one another as well guys. I know it's exciting but we'll keep on point and anyone that wants to say something in a particular subject...

BubblemanCan type it into the chat and we'll make sure that we won't go past it and we'll make a point on bringing up each person's point that's important because it's important. Someone mentioned this is why it's great to share tech. This is why it's great to not try to own tech. Just share it, pass it on one more time. Soil Grown could have held on to his His new discovery through the help of Rosin, I suspect, Compassion, the original Rosin guy, who was not using a hair straightener or any type of press.

BubblemanHe was simply using a double boiler back in the OG days and the IC mag days.

BubblemanHe was actually the roommate of Matt the Great Gardener, so a small world, eh?

SpeakerLet me get some buds ready and I'll set up and do another press.

BubblemanDude, I'd love to see the whole press. We'll give you, like, the floor. No one will talk, and you can just go through the process, the whole 12 seconds that it takes.

SpeakerPerfect.

SpeakerWhere did you get your press from, Soil Grown? Actually, the press, dude, I traded a buddy a quarter of some flour for it. He had it for a while. It's an old Hicks, H-I-X. It's actually still in business, but it's an old model, dude. The ownership was built to last, you know what I mean? It works really good, and I'm afraid to kind of buy one of those newer ones, but I need to get one and see what's better.

SpeakerBut it's tough, dude. It really is. What was that press used for before this? What was it made for? Silk screening, I would suspect, no? Pressing. Yeah, yeah, exactly. I think, yeah, like if you have a... T-shirt press. Okay. T-shirt press, yeah, so... How do you get the numbers on the jerseys?

BubblemanYeah. How do you get Hailey Selassie on the shirt? Ha, ha, ha. Nice.

BubblemanDaily Celestia.

SpeakerEverybody's Googling t-shirt presses right now.

BubblemanRichard, I just hit that dry sift that I made while those guys were doing theirs. You can see my screen right here. I wrapped it up in the same way, and you can still see there's quite a bit of juice in there that I could hit again. It came out on the parchment paper nicely. It turned a no-melt dry sift, a dark dry sift. It's quite a dark dry sift.

BubblemanThat's why the oil doesn't come out quite as gold but a little more reddish. But the hit was great. It melted like water, like what you would expect from a six star. And yeah, not bad. You ready, Soil? Yeah, I think so. Let me check. All right. Just verbally talk us through it while you're doing it. I know it's super simple, but that way it avoids people asking a million questions, you know?

SpeakerYeah, definitely. Okay. Alright, so... Let me see if I can get the... Well, either way, I'll just show it. I got a bud. I'm just going to go through the whole process, so... I'm going to press out 1.21.

BubblemanI love how hash making is constantly evolving and changing and taking on a new face.

BubblemanYou know?

SpeakerWow. I'm throwing a thermocoupler in here just to get the temp. I'm going to show the temp digitally on the cam so that way we can see what temp we're at. And later on, I'm going to calibrate it. I'm going to see exactly how far off it is.

BubblemanSo you'll weigh it before and after, and that should give you your weight of resin? Correct. Simple.

BubblemanGot the Ninja Nail going? What is that unit?

SpeakerIt's a turtle case. I do custom cases, so it's my own. Nice.

SpeakerSo let's see, we're at...

SpeakerStill climbing. Sometimes a bud gets stuck in the press and you forget. They stink. So don't let that happen.

SpeakerI would say it's important to keep your plate as clean as possible, so I always keep a razor to scrape it, because when buds do get stuck in there, they stick in there, they crust up, so I think that's going to mess with the amount of pressure, you know? It can only press so far, so that's just to keep it out.

BubblemanHave you tried using Teflon paper from D-Nail?

SpeakerTeflon oil slick paper instead of the parchment? Now I use parchment. I haven't used that yet, but I've been hearing good things about it.

BubblemanYou should try it, bro. I think you might find it interesting. It can go to a much higher temperature without any worry. Your product won't push into it the same way. It doesn't breathe the same way. Tony was just talking about it earlier. I bet you could even get Oil Slick to send you one.

SpeakerWe're safe using that with the temps, right? Because we're only at about... What temperature is that safe to use to? I mean, it's for cooking, right? Four or five hundred degrees. Five hundred Fahrenheit. That's what I'm saying, dude.

SpeakerAlright, so I like to break the butt down to... You know, you want to have them anywhere from like a .15 to a quarter gram at most. I mean, when I'm really doing it fast, I do them at half grams, and the yields, you know, that's where you're getting about 12% yield. Depending on the strain, like the strain you would get 17%, you're probably going to get 12 to 13 if you're pressing it at half grams.

BubblemanSo you're looking at surface area being extremely important to allow the resin to escape the bud.

SpeakerYeah, so it's perfect for all your larv, your mini nugs. If you do get that, if you're not cleaning up right.

SpeakerSo like a gram, break it into six pieces, you know?

BubblemanWe can't really quite see what's going on down there, but we're suspecting you're putting buds and parchment and squeezing them between two plates.

SpeakerMy bad.

BubblemanThat's okay.

SpeakerAll right, so I think it's saying like 309, 310. Yeah. That's where we're going to press at right now.

SpeakerAnd this is the Wi-Fi OG, which I usually get about 12% on. You got 570 people watching you do this live right now.

BubblemanSo tell them where they can see you on Instagram.

SpeakerCheck out Soil Grown on Instagram. Can't forget that. Soil Grown. All right. So you guys see the press? All right. So just lay your buds out evenly.

SpeakerDepending on how much you're pressing...

SpeakerYou kind of want to just space it like evenly towards the center.

SpeakerSo really that was a quick little, you know, two second process. Set the buds on, put the parchment back on top, press it. Now it's time to scrape the sticky parchment papers. And if there's contaminant in it, first you want to go through, pick the little hairs out. Some people don't care. It doesn't really affect the melt. But in my opinion, it does affect the taste. So the more you get out, you know, a little bit better taste.

SpeakerBecause towards the end of that melt, the hairs start to burn. You get that, like as if you were to smoke some scissor hash. Try to dab some scissor hash or something, you know, the... Thank you for joining us today.

BubblemanThe Reverend Jeff there came up with, I definitely, or him in space, whoever got to give props to space as well. I'm definitely going to try that out. Very, very, very cool. Worked good. Here's my little screen right here that's like I wrapped up in hash. I pulled it off the screen. You can see how big it had squeezed out before.

SpeakerThat's just wet grease from that hash. And you're guaranteed no contaminant through that. You're just going to have pure melt, you know, super melt.

BubblemanSuper Melt, for sure, that's exactly what it is. I still have some on my dabber here.

SpeakerThree star to six star in seconds.

BubblemanYeah, three to six stars in like, yeah, in like exactly about five to ten seconds. How's that for a rating upgrade?

BubblemanThat'll be the second company. The first company will jack the name, Rosintech, and then the second company will be like the three star to six star in ten seconds.

SpeakerMelt to no melt.

BubblemanRating upgrade for your melt kit.

SpeakerIt's going to all be about the custom hair straighteners and the wide one versus the thin one versus the long one. I'm already thinking and I'm like, no, I'm going to go get my roller press, the one I use for flattening metal, and I'll heat that up and that way I can just drag it through and it'll all be, because Jeff's tech is really the left to right.

SpeakerJeff, your tech doesn't work as well in a press as it does in the hair straightener because you're literally teasing it in one direction. That's what I noticed about the ball that's so effective with working with that screen that I'm like, okay, it's got to all be squeezed one way so we eventually drag it completely free of the 25 micron screen in large amounts.

SpeakerYeah, we tried the screen in the press and it didn't really work out very well. You know, broke up some screen really well and, you know.

SpeakerBut I think a press is really a good way. It's just, you know, if you have something that's like a roller press like you're talking about that has a lot of pressure, that's going to flatten it, right? So it's not overkill.

SpeakerYeah, but Bennett's not going to squish as much. Well, you know, you... I could see that being efficient, you know? Rolling over it with that pressure kind of making it easier to collect for one because it's going to spread it into one spot rather than in a circle in all directions. And, uh... I mean, you're still applying the same pressure. As long as you're applying the same pressure and temps, I don't see why it would change, as long as it's in a quick process, too.

SpeakerBut then you've got to watch how it's rolling, because then it's going to roll over the oil, and then it'll potentially ooze the oil off the side of your workspace. So it depends on how you can dial that in, but I can see that being efficient if it could be dialed in. Well, yeah, I got a 14-inch bar, the double bar, and it's three bars, so I can send it through or I can curl it, sending the oil to one side and sending... Would it not be beneficial to have the top plate be colder and the bottom plate be warm so it pulls the resin down?

SpeakerOh, I tried that. You get very, very low yield when it's not heated evenly on both sides. That's why I make sure to shut my press, like, immediately. Sometimes I forget. The top will show the temperature because that's where the coils are, the heating element. But the bottom, it doesn't matter. That's where, when you buy a normal press, it comes with a pad, you know. So that's where you have to sand it, scrape it, get all that off there.

SpeakerYou got to raise it up. So that way it's got the, you know, so that fits proper.

SpeakerSo you have to modify it.

BubblemanWell, it's interesting to say the least. I'm sure I've had a good time talking about it and making some. I'm high on it right now and it's definitely no slouch whatsoever. It's dry sift that I wasn't really interested in buffing. I'll definitely run the rest of it and milk as much of it as I can, make a nice big patty and photograph that later.

SpeakerNice.

BubblemanAnd, you know, also I've got... I got a shitload of bud just frozen in my freezer right now. I might have to take out a few of my flavors that I've harvested in the last six months and maybe just try a few nuggets because what a neat way to test the flavors.

SpeakerIn fact, go ahead.

SpeakerBrett, no results. I have it myself. No, I don't know who it was.

BubblemanI tried to judge the Negril Stepping High Festival this year, and Tony brought his thing, but I hadn't done the bud. I didn't know how long it took. It wasn't efficient. I tried one bud, and really nothing was produced on the parchment, so I thought that I would just use the steam chalice. But I thought it was a great way for myself, who doesn't smoke cannabis, to be able to judge an event Quickly, they didn't give me a lot of time.

BubblemanIt was just suddenly like, here's all these flavors. We want you to test them all. And Tony had a little bit more of an advantage because he can rip the nugs off, stick them in his mothership, and torch them with a lighter and still get a flavor profile. He has more of a wide range of how he inhales his cannabinoids. I'm a little bit more, you know, D-nail, vapor rip.

BubblemanHash I'll burn, but that's about it.

BubblemanGreat way to be able to burn. Burn the herb without burning the herb. Hot air extraction. I mean, even before rosin, I remember smoking with the Vrip Tech and blowing with the big Steinel heat gun through the glass bowl, and it would blow the resin into the tube, and then if you had water in there, it was acting almost as a condenser, and the resin would condense into this honey oil.

BubblemanI guess they call it Reclaim nowadays, but it was really pure, the vapor stuff in particular. You could scoop that out and get the most beautiful hit of what I always called hot air extracted. Resin, very similar to rosin.

SpeakerHey, Mark. Yes? Hey, Mark, that's the steam distillation you just did, buddy. Yeah. Yeah. You just steam distilled into yourself.

SpeakerPretty trippy, eh? Absolutely. That's what you just did, dude. You just steam distilled that shit right into you.

BubblemanI love it. I'm part of the process.

SpeakerI'm curious, Mark, about the steam distillation setup. Was she trying to sell that kit?

BubblemanNo, no, not at all. It was just like they had... SRC had set up two tables around Huey. There was a woman from Huey with a PhD that had every type of herb you can imagine and a bunch of different ways they were testing it and things that they were doing with them. And then she had her helpers all around her and the SRC lady was just one of the women running that booth.

BubblemanYeah, I just asked her, I walked by and I was like, oh, is that like the little, you know, distillation of like terpenes? And she's like, yeah, that's lemongrass terpene. I'm like, oh, can I do a little video? And then we just did that on the, you know, on the fly type of thing.

SpeakerCool.

BubblemanI figured it would be fun to start people off in the direction that have no idea whatsoever. That's a good place to maybe start thinking.

SpeakerLead you to something.

SpeakerI got a .20 off of that, what was it, a 1.12?

Bubbleman1.2?

SpeakerYeah, 1.21?

Bubbleman1.2, I think you said.

Speaker1.2, so... Hey guys, I'm taking off. It was good chatting with you this morning. 16%. Hey Jeff, thanks for coming by, dude.

SpeakerMuch appreciated. Thank you for sharing. Sharing is caring.

BubblemanThanks, Fletch, for the package. Thanks for bringing Jeff in. Thanks for being a part of Hash Church, guys. Great one. Much appreciated.

BubblemanHey, Mark. Jake. Yeah. I just saw your mug in there.

SpeakerI looked over and I see you.

BubblemanWhat's going on, guys? Hey, you're not afraid to get sick, hey? I ain't going to get sick, man. I'm tough as fucking nails. No, but let's be honest. Fucking D would not be over at your house if you were sick right now. No, he wouldn't. No fucking way.

SpeakerWe ran out of there.

BubblemanDude, I remember. That's the day I realized D does not get around with getting sick.

SpeakerNo, fuck that. Fuck.

SpeakerI'm on the end of it anyways here. Like, it's been a week and a half, solid week and a half. The only problem with me now is I get tired pretty quickly now, and that's about it. I got to let the lungs do their cleaning. Everything's pretty good, though. Crazy, dude.

BubblemanNobody likes getting sick like that, that's for sure.

SpeakerNope, not at all.

BubblemanOh, nice. Mr. Cookie says he's putting a back in 10 minutes sign on the door at the seed bank and running to London Drugs to go get a hair straightener. I'm going to put one up on the way home.

SpeakerJake's doing the same thing on the way home. I got one in the shop already. I'll be trying it out today, I think.

BubblemanDude, what's up, Ken? You hitting the dab there, buddy?

SpeakerYeah, bro.

SpeakerWhat's up, Mike? How you doing?

BubblemanDoing really good, man. How are things over in Colorado?

SpeakerBeautiful, man, beautiful. It's like 65 today, but yeah, dry as hell, my friend.

BubblemanOoh, that's nice for dry and hatch.

SpeakerYes, exactly. You know, Mark, I was literally going to go, me and Giddy and AJ were going to go shoot some guns, and that didn't happen, so my backup was to go to the Harley deal, and buy a bike today, but the Harley deal is closed on Sunday, but I got to tell you, I've been in the New York winter for like, you know, three, four, five months or whatever, and coming out here to Colorado, and I know you, I know who's speaking your language, I'm so jonesing around, so, You can count on that happening.

SpeakerProbably find out next week. Nice.

BubblemanYeah, I don't know why I haven't put plates on mine. It's been such a mild winter, but I guess because I weigh so much, I definitely, I'm sure Darren will have plates on his sooner than later.

SpeakerThis week, this week I'll have the plates on. You can guarantee it. Keep the pressure in those lungs. Yeah, we've got a real early spring as well.

BubblemanI'll tell you, nothing feels more badass than fucking driving with Darren on the highway, side by side, like two fucking feet away, going like 100K, cars ripping by us on the other side of the highway, mountain going by us like at the equivalent speed that we're ripping at. That's fucking badass.

SpeakerYes, it's a good feeling, brother. Big time. One of the best.

BubblemanYeah, that's, that'd be a tough gig if you couldn't ride a bike anymore. That would be some nostalgia that could damn near kill you.

SpeakerYeah, I know a few guys that are in that position now that have had bike accidents and are unable to ride anymore. But, you know, I feel their pain. And we've talked to them about getting, you know, trikes and stuff like that, but they're still just not able to pull it off. And unfortunately, right, but. It's something I wish that I would like everybody at least in life to experience once because it's the fucking best.

SpeakerIt is the best. I like rolling up to the intersections in Vancouver with my Johnny Cash fucking blaring. Yeah. Just sitting there straight face like it's not even playing out of my bike. What? Yeah, I had an accident in 2012. I severed my hamstring in my right leg. I required surgery. It's interesting because two things came out of that. One, I wound up starting the process of my pain medication went way up after surgery.

SpeakerIt got to such a point that it was so high that the dose plus I gained so much weight that it was a really good catalyst to start the process for me to lose all the weight that I lost and then start to become opiate-free, which happened about a year or so after surgery. My motorcycle accident. But the second thing that really came out of it was as soon as I survived the accident, I went and bought a really sick Harley, you know?

SpeakerSo that's something good that came from it, I guess, from that. I got into a couple accidents as well. The bike accident, I broke my neck. Little old lady cut me off. Broken neck, broken wrist, both arms dislocated, both legs dislocated out of the hip sockets. And it fucking hurt, man. It hurt a lot. But fortunately I healed up good.

BubblemanJesus Christ, dude. Didn't you fuck up your jaw too and get some titanium in there or something?

SpeakerThat was a year or so before I had a big turkey sucker me and break my jaw. But I spanked him afterwards still. But I had to go through surgery and everything else and steal both sides of my face. A year before that bike accident, it was a car accident, and I crushed three vertebraes in my back as well. I bashed myself up really good. I'm really lucky to be actually sitting here with everybody talking or being able to ride my motorbike.

SpeakerAnd I attribute a lot of it to the mighty marijuana here in fucking team. And a good, stubborn, no laying down rule that I have. Pretty much.

BubblemanHey, how's that for a quote? The mighty marijuana guaranteed. You heard it here on Haskell from the general himself.

SpeakerI'm writing that down through my new line of t-shirts I'm making.

BubblemanDude, someone already made them and is selling them on eBay. Here, I'll send you the link. I'm going to keep up, bro. Shit's fast nowadays.

SpeakerYeah, hopefully he'll fucking send me a couple.

BubblemanJeez. They're on the way already, dude. He's sending me the tracking number now. We have fun, don't we? That was too good.

SpeakerWhen are you heading to Spanibus, Mark?

BubblemanTomorrow or the next day. I'm not sure if I'm ready for a 10, 11 hour flight.

SpeakerI mean, Jake will probably be down by the end of the week. I'll be gone. Bullshit, yeah. But I'll be back. Not like I go for very long. We're going to cross John's place and fucking party. We're going to be rosy, man. I got the t-shirt already on order. eBay, we're going fast. I got buns hanging. We're going to be flattening shit.

BubblemanI'm already working on a design. Of a press that's 7 meters by 10 meters big.

SpeakerAnd you can press an entire fucking field at once. I have to make it just reel up and down the field and just press between the plants like this and it just rips.

SpeakerYou going to be back on the end of the month?

BubblemanYes. It's my birthday at the end of the month.

SpeakerI'm coming down for a concert at the end of the month.

BubblemanWhich date?

SpeakerNot sure. Marilyn Manson? No. No. Maroon 5.

SpeakerI don't know. It's the same night as Marilyn Manson. Nice. Well, you got a plan for your birthday, Mark? You going to have a get-together? You going to have a dinner? Just some good family time?

BubblemanYou know, we were just thinking of really kind of taking it easy. We rented a 600-foot yacht with a helicopter and a giant waterfall. We were thinking of inviting the surviving members of the Grateful Dead along with Fish and a couple other buddies down to play the show, you know, just something really relaxed and chill, nothing over the top.

SpeakerNot a big, nothing big, eh? Nah, dude.

BubblemanI don't celebrate my birthday, actually.

SpeakerI never do shit. Well, if we're down there, we're taking you out for dinner, I guess, or something. Yeah, no problem, man. What's the date of your birthday?

BubblemanThe true end of the month, March 31st. 31st, okay. The 29th, we're coming down.

SpeakerSo, Christmas party, the 30th.

SpeakerYou hear my bulldog snoring? We're going to rent the floor of a whole restaurant. We'll pick one. We've got a shorty bull. Pick him up. We can have our bongs hooked up. Everybody will be hitting the denials. Gosh. What's up, bud? I'm coming down this week to get my mothership. Oh, what a cutie. Is that a puppy or a Frenchie? Yeah, he's four months. Four-month bulldog. Yeah, he's a shorty bull.

SpeakerHa, ha, ha. Here's my girl.

SpeakerYou can hear her in the background of almost all of my YouTube videos snoring. A lot of people make comments. Is there someone having sex in the background? What the hell is that noise? Little piggies, man.

BubblemanIt's strange that someone would think that the sound of snoring is the sound of having sex. What kind of sick, twisted fuck? What kind of sex are they having?

SpeakerThey're riding fucking dirty. They're riding dirty. That's who thinks of that sound.

SpeakerYeah. Virgins.

BubblemanI think it's time to take a rip.

SpeakerWe're signing off, guys.

BubblemanDon't do it. Don't do it.

SpeakerWe're out, man.

BubblemanSee you guys later. Have a good day. Good to see you, Jake.

SpeakerOkay, Brian. Peace, everyone.

BubblemanJeez, you're about to have a party, eh, Johnny B?

SpeakerOh, yeah.

BubblemanThe boys are coming to town.

SpeakerAnd then we stop in, hang out, we hang out in the kitchen, we puff hash, solid for hours. Laugh our heads off, have a good time. Now that I've got this, I've got so much stuff to play with now, it's a lot of fun, this whole pressin'. Awesome. Yeah. Soil Grown is smiling, but I'm smiling the whole way listening to this. I love how you can just take a gram of any flavor and just try it out in a concentrate relatively quickly.

SpeakerLittle containers of hash like this everywhere. I got little jars of all kinds of antidepressant stuff I've had in jars for five years. I'm curious. You know what I mean? All thunder. Wow, this is a lot.

SpeakerYeah, that's awesome, man. That right there, I mean, what can we do with that? Have that tested. What's left in that? Yeah, exactly. No, I'm thinking about that. I think it makes sense to send the blood chip off and see what's left. All right. So, I mean, that's hit to the temperature. What you're looking at, it's going to be, it's decarboxylated. I don't know anybody... Mark will contest that with the temperature you're hitting at that, but it's just not at that flat.

SpeakerYeah, that's exactly why I was asking, you know, about the temperature. But it's not quick enough. Yeah, you're above the boiling point of the sesquiterps, which are caryophyllene and hemolyne, which boil at 107 and 130 degrees.

SpeakerCentigrade respectively. This was around 156 if I remember correctly. And so pinene would also be one of those ones that again, these things again are being heated just for a brief time but probably enough to act as a solvent itself to be able to make the liquid extract liquid enough to transfer from the bud to the paper. Okay, so you're saying the terpenes are also acting as a, they're acting as a solvent during the heat and pressure.

SpeakerYeah, so if it was 310 degrees Fahrenheit, 310 degrees Fahrenheit is about 155 centigrade, and so you're right at the boiling point of terpene. You're beyond the boiling point of caryophyllene and humaline, and certainly, you know, If you're just doing it for just like a couple seconds, it's just going to be enough to essentially make the vapor recondense on the paper itself, depending on whether the paper is hot or not.

SpeakerSo the paper is cold when you're putting it in there, right? No, actually I press it. I put the paper in and I flatten it so that way it's evenly flat. So I mean, and paper's thin anyway, so as soon as it hits the bottom plate, it hits immediately. Right, immediate heat transfer. So how long are you keeping it in there for? I'd say two seconds. I mean, I count to two without the Mississippis, so maybe one.

SpeakerQuick press. Right, a quick press. Yeah. Well, you're currently at a temperature where you're going to see, again, those terpenes. So what is this bud analyzed for when you look at Like caryophylline content. Is it high in sesquiterps, this bud? Is it very fragrant, very peppery? Oh, it's extremely, extremely terpified. I mean, it's... The taste is incredibly strong. The smell, it's like... I think that's why the taste on, like, this specific strain, the terpenes carry over really well.

SpeakerLike, if I was to give it to you and tell you that it was some... You know, pressed out six star or some BHO, you know, and you didn't really analyze it, you just dabbed it, you wouldn't think anything about terpene loss. I mean, until I say heat was involved, then you're going to start analyzing that, and that's where your brain starts thinking bad things about it maybe.

SpeakerDegradation because of heat, THC, none of that, it doesn't mix. But at a short period of time, it's enough to bring it out. And, you know, obviously it's degrading and stuff, but it's getting the job done. And it's a desirable product. Do you know if there's any decarving this at all? Is it decarving? Okay, let me see. Someone did a test. I haven't sent my samples off yet, but...

SpeakerI'm sending you the link now, Mark, too. You can actually see in Jeff's test the start off Humulene and Caryophyllene levels. He does a 30-second press of the hash. Wow. And you can see the start material, the Rosen, and then the spent material. And you can look at those levels. It's in the Hash Church group on Facebook. Okay, I'll look at it. That's cool. So if you gently heat this hash, will you see a bubbling?

SpeakerDo you actually see effervescent like a soda, like a Coke? Say that again. So what do you mean if you gently heat, like on the press? Yeah, no, no, no. I mean when you gently heat, if you gently heat a hash that hasn't been decarbed, you could actually see effervescence. Effervescing. Oh, yes. You could actually, we've done this with CBD oil before. It'll fizz like a Coke if you take, All over the outside.

SpeakerIt's like the oil stuck in the contaminator. What?

SpeakerOn the no-melt side. What would that, I mean, what is that? No, I'm just wondering, can you physically observe CO2 being, coming off of the product itself in its decarboxylation? You can see little bubbles. I mean, no, I would say the bubbles are coming from, it's hard to say because the bubbles are coming from scraping and trapping the air.

BubblemanAnd it was all little bubbles. Right, right, right.

SpeakerBut if you look at it on the paper, spread out, no, there's not bubbles in it. It's a clear oil. Well, Mark, this is a great, another great thing that we can tell by NMR instantly. We just drop that thing in the NMR magnet and we'd be able to tell. If there's been any decarb, and what degree, and what extent?

BubblemanI'll tell you, the temperature is sure not very long. I mean, people that decarb, decarb for hours. He's pressing for two seconds, so I'm not so sure. I have a test right here.

SpeakerIt's 73% THCA and 10.5% THC.

BubblemanThat's what I'm saying. I would not suspect that you were getting much decarboxylation when you're for two seconds. Yeah. Even at 30 seconds, it's nothing compared to the people who are like, oh, I decarbed my butt for two hours in a pressure cooker.

SpeakerWell, it depends on temperature, right? It depends on what temperature you're at. The other thing, it was interesting where the discussion was going before. When you take two things and you pressurize them together, it generates heat. So, I mean, if you're talking about using something like a hydraulic press or something, you know, that would be akin to what they use in industry where you're using several tons, that generates a whole lot of heat.

SpeakerYou're right. That's for sure.

BubblemanPressure does generate heat. The idea of creating heat meant that we needed less pressure, and that's how I always, you know,

SpeakerI think the other thing Mark, and this touches on what we were talking about before with steam distillation, the water content in the bud when you do this process has probably got a big big impact Soil Grown is a perfect ratio of moisture to leave in the buds. Have you played around with that much and gone from the fresh all the way to the dry and seen where it really hits the best?

SpeakerYeah, well with the, like on this Wi-Fi, a dryer Wi-Fi bud, compared to like something that I didn't leave out, that's nice and cured and perfect moisture content, you get bigger yields it seems to be. I don't know if that's because the flower is so dry that it's acting as an absorbent, or like you're saying, the water's acting as a vessel because it's vaporizing at a much lower temp Thank you for watching.

SpeakerYeah, it makes sense physically. It's there. It's got to do something. You're heating it.

BubblemanIt's going out. When it's steaming, it's coming out of the bud the right direction to carry the resin. The resin, I'm not so sure, wouldn't melt and boil in the bud if the moisture wasn't there.

SpeakerIt doesn't make a difference, right? I mean, the point is that even if you have even a trace amount of water in there, Mark, it's got to be serving some function because, again, you're heating it up, albeit for a very, very brief time, above its boiling point. So the physics of the situation is even if it's for a microsecond, those molecules are moving fast enough to immediately turn into vapor.

SpeakerImmediately. Yep.

BubblemanBut I'm wondering if the more water present, the more you could preserve that terpene profile. I know I use water in my coconut oil when I'm steeping at low temperatures to preserve the terpenes from boiling off, and I have much tastier and a much more effective coconut oil extract at the end of doing that in my crock pot. As per se, someone who does not use water, and they end up like, yeah, they end up with a much stronger sort of tasteless, not even a bad tasting extract.

SpeakerThere's all kinds of shit going on in that crock pot. Now what about, okay, if there's too much moisture, what about coming into play of trapping moisture into the extract? I don't know if that just plays towards hash or, I mean, since this is basically pure oil, you know, oil's not water soluble, so it doesn't really matter. What's that? What do you think on that? Well, I mean, that's the whole analogy to steam distillation.

SpeakerEven though it's not water-soluble, the interaction between the oily components, and particularly the terpenes, which are higher boiling, when they come in contact with water, their boiling points decrease significantly, like almost by a third. And that's the phenomena of steam distillation. That's how, it's interesting, Mark, maybe you could put that little comment, That we had on your post there up to church. So steam distillation itself basically is a way of taking water miscible materials away from plant materials by heating it up usually with a jet of steam.

SpeakerAnd think of it like you're just sort of recovering the steam and when you recover the steam you get these little oil droplets that sometimes will coalesce together and make a separate

SpeakerThat's essentially what you're doing if there's moisture content in the bud when you put it in the press and that moisture gets to the level where it turns into steam, you're essentially steam distilling the essential oils off the bud onto the paper. Makes sense.

SpeakerSo then when it comes to a completely dried bud, that wouldn't apply then, right? Well, I don't know. I mean, it would be interesting to do this on herb that's been completely dried or already decarbed or aged herb to look at the, I think that's what Bubble Man asked. Did you look at moisture content in terms of yield? Well, I feel like something like, say you were to leave something out to, it just crumbled to a powder.

SpeakerIf you were to try to press that, it's probably just going to crumble to a powder in its place. The oil, everything is going to be contaminated. There's no collection. It's, Thank you for watching.

SpeakerIt's vaporizing so fast, even though it's a short process, there's so much moisture content that it's vaporizing any oil content in it. Dr. The capsids that are within the trichome itself, as soon as they come in contact with something that's above water, because you've got to remember, even though the lipid bilayer in these cells And the waxy layer that the trichome is actually composed of is not made of water and is water resistant.

SpeakerIt's the yin and yang of hydrophobic, hydrophilic interaction that actually keeps that structure intact. And so actually, while they are oil liking, which we call hydrophobic, so they don't like water, oleophilic, if you will, they're oleophilic, they like oil. They require water molecules to maintain the structure and the organization of those structures on the leaf surface. As soon as that stuff is vaporized, all those structures get blown apart.

SpeakerWhen all those structures get blown apart, yeah, the water molecules are moving, albeit for a very short period of time, at a temperature above their boiling point, so you've now vaporized That water, you vaporize the, again, the sesquiterps that boil lower than if the temperature, if you said was 350. I think 310 or something like that. 310, okay. Yeah, so usually like those t-shirt transfer, those polymers transfer typically, so what you're looking for in the polymer actually itself in the t-shirt that when you print on a t-shirt, is what's called the glass transition temperature and that's when it no longer is a polymer but kind of like a liquid and that's the temperature which it transfers and typically commercially that's done in a neighborhood of about 350 degrees I know I have a couple friends who have printing companies and in their t-shirt printing processes they run typically between 350 to maybe 335 to 350 degrees so at those temperatures I mean you're going to be vaporizing

SpeakerAgain, let me go back to my chart here so I know what I'm talking about. So Humalene goes at 107, Caryophyllene at 130, Pinene at 156, Myrcene 168. So that starts getting on the ragged edge of where you can possibly be looking at, again, using the terpene content within the bud itself. To essentially extract the cannabinoids away from the leaf and bring it to the paper surface.

SpeakerMakes sense. Totally. It has to. That's a great thing about chemistry. It makes sense.

SpeakerNow there's going to be a new range of which terpenes squirt further. Yeah, and I think we either talked about this on the Dunn Show this week or on Hash Church about the effect that freezing in these live resin processes where you freeze the bud itself, and remember the glandular trichome is sensitive to the fact that it needs water in the liquid state, and as soon as water freezes, those things shatter.

SpeakerSo the effect that freezing also has on the process might be interesting to look at.

BubblemanVery interesting hash church here, talking about rosin with all the different guys. It was nice that Jeff was able to make it in. It's too bad that I haven't been able to track down Compassion, who could have, you know, eventually we'll get him in, tell him the story of how he kind of originally came up with milking the resin glands on the side of the dish. Here we are 15 plus years later.

BubblemanPeople are squishing buds. People are squishing no-melt hash. Other people are just growing perfect weed in perfect resin and extracting it in a perfect way using dry-sep techniques and wet-wash techniques and hydrocarbon techniques. And a whole variety of options that's really moved everything forward quite well. It's impressive to see.

SpeakerIt'll be interesting to see the response from the manufacturers of t-shirt presses.

SpeakerLike the turkey bag people when they find out what this rise in their market is due to.

BubblemanLook at Pocono Screens and other screen companies that are already selling screens for dry sifting. Now they're going to be selling the other part of the machine. Okay, here's one. The self-proclaimed King of Nepal, Joe Petrie, claims that Skunk Man, Sam, Mila, Rob Clark, and Bubble Man

BubblemanHave set modern hash making back with the introduction of sieve stacking mesh bags. Discuss.

BubblemanHave we set hash making back? I don't think so. What's the real discussion? There is no discussion. Joe Petrie is completely insane and doesn't deserve our attention. Next question.

SpeakerI think there's some entertainment value in that.

BubblemanIf you read the article, it's pretty funny. It says, Skunk Man Sam created Bubble Man.

BubblemanIt's one of the best lines.

SpeakerYour dad or something? Definitely a good friend. Yeah, Tony looks like he's in a terp coma.

BubblemanOh, no, he left. They're out on the deck now. They're at his new place. He's in a penthouse now.

SpeakerThe view must be better out there.

BubblemanThere they are. There's the boys. They're going to sit down. They're going to hit that egg. Tony's like planning a new Dabs Over Denver episode for his new YouTube channel that you guys should all go check out. Dabs Over Denver.

BubblemanAll right. Let's move on to something else. Just joking, Tony.

SpeakerHey, what's the LED update, Johnny B? Is there any LED cannabinoid measurements made? Yes, I've got it all done. I'm uploading the second part of the video right now on what I yielded from the six plants and what I saw, and I let it hang dry for six weeks because that's what I like to get my resin from it. And from the LED, I got 219 grams.

SpeakerFrom the HPS, I got 233 grams from the six different plants. Actually, five because the sixth one, the many hazes, I put all under the LED, and one thing I saw with that was if the HPS with the three, many hazes under the HPS, when I put them underneath the LED for another month, they just so glued out the bottoms. It was actually, I'll do a video on that too, but I'm impressed.

SpeakerI'm going to say, you know what, it's comparable, but that was just doing six different strains to see if it was going to work. I'm going to say yes. With the Congolese, I got more, just a few more grams. With the Barbara, I got more. With the My Little Pony, I got roughly the same. With the Haley's Comet, it was just completely two different yields. And that's just because of the way the plant grows.

SpeakerIt's just what it is. And the Medicoche, I put my worst one in there because it's my medicine, so I didn't really trust the LED in the beginning. But overall... It worked, guys. I mean, I did all the filming from start to finish. I waited and it's comparable. So now it's about seeing what I can do with it next is can we get better yields? Yes, I'm seeing a healthier plant growing with the LEDs.

SpeakerI'm not putting high heat on top of my plants anymore. It's a different feeding program. They're not eating as much, so they're not getting as much moisture as they're going into the air with the high temps. I bet you we're going to get better Tasting Resin, maybe more Terps. I'm happy with it, to be honest. I mean, I'm in the next step. I'm going to now see if I can do the yield comparison as in what I normally get from my room and what it's going to do and what I'll get, you know, coming up.

SpeakerThat's all I can do, guys. It's just, I'm happy with it. I've been doing it for a long time. I've been working and with the new laws that we're trying to put on with our, let's say, our challenge here, high-intensity bulbs and fires with... My balance is, well, with this new technology, you don't have to worry about that anymore, so.

SpeakerI'm happy. Great.

SpeakerYou know, I'm curious on what Brad has with his ceramic bulbs, and we talked about that, and we'll introduce those in, too, at the same time, and see what we can do, and, man. You know, new growing. For me, I mean, that's all I can say. I'm going to give it a shot and see how it works for them, right? All right. Go ahead there, Tony. I got to chime in on this.

SpeakerAll right. So when we were in Jamaica, you were telling me, have you ever noticed about John's camera and his mic? Right? And I said, what do you mean? He said, do you know what it looks like? He's moving like it. I started Hash Church a little upset over it, but then he moved on to his Mac, and it's been okay. I've gotten a bit of it from Soil Grown.

BubblemanFletcher's mic was a tough one today. I had to mute that one quite a few times. It would be ideal if everyone could take care of the muting of their own mics, I have to admit, and just mute them when you're not talking, because it can be a little bit of work, but I mostly now am going to wait until people complain about it in the chat, and then I know, because sometimes I hear something that's not good, but then other people aren't hearing it like that, so I should probably just keep my mouth shut, which I do now.

BubblemanExcept this morning.

SpeakerIt's not recorded that way, is it?

BubblemanI hope not. That's what people say sometimes. I go back and only watch so many of them. I mean, it's a shady system I have here. It's not John's fault or anything. It's a Google chat. No one's really got the best situation. I wish I had an actual professional mic set up with a board. That would be nice, but we're stuck with what we got, you know?

BubblemanYeah, bandwidth might be one of the things. Pots, yeah, that's good. A train operator, no shit, hey? As long as I got my mothership, I can steer with this one. This one is my gas. This is the brakes.

BubblemanWear headphones. It's true, headphones do fix shitty mics.

BubblemanOh, God, I never talk about stocks, dude. I don't know what the fuck are up with stocks. Stocks are stocks. Speculation. People love to speculate. Sometimes it works in your favor, sometimes it works against you. Don't put too much heed...

BubblemanOkay, well there you go. I think so too, F1-4. I started the day out like that. I got pretty pissed off, but it never does me really much good. John did come back right in with his Mac. You're still on your Mac, aren't you, Johnny B? Yes, I am. There we go, so that's good.

SpeakerI will always stay on the Mac now because I know it's just a better reception and it's better just for you guys. Better camera too. Yeah, better camera. It's a newer computer. This is old. So, hey, this is what I stay with, and it's nice. If I can get the Internet to work in my house better, it'll be better, too. Then I can just, like, sit in the kitchen, and I can show you guys some of the stuff that I'm doing.

SpeakerOf course, this new press that I'm buying.

SpeakerI'm excited. It's great. And, Tony, you're talking... I'm just curious on the difference even with the resonance in the two different bulbs. It would be interesting to find that out in the future to come with what we're doing with it.

SpeakerI can definitely see a difference in the turps when I was in the two different strains. The one with the, you could tell, was the LED in the beginning. I thought it was the HPS because of the size of the buds, but as I was plucking away, the turps were so amazing coming from the plant that was going with the LED. It was definitely a difference. What did Haley's do better as far as the LED versus the other system?

SpeakerThe hemp one, the Haley's, the one we talked about, not hemp, but the high CBD? Yeah, how did it do under LED? Well, see, it did great as you can see with the resin on it, the pitches were amazing. But, I mean, as a free yield, I haven't really, the yield was completely different, but I can't really comment on the yield with the plant, just because of the way it particularly grows.

SpeakerNow, as in what the resonance we've gotten from it, now, I've already talked with Cheryl, and she has the Hayley Rose Foundations, and they're willing to pay for the testing and everything on that, so I'm actually getting a hold of them now, and we'll find out the different ratios between the LED and that. They're going to test it on a mass spec and stuff like that, she told me, so They have no problem paying for it.

SpeakerSo they're going to test two different strains for me. I'll make the choice of which ones I want with the other one. And one will be the Haley's and then one will be my choice for, and I'll donate it to them type deal. So I'm kind of seeing what, that's what she says she can do. Hopefully that will all come about and we can actually get a really good look at maybe the difference in those terpene profiles because I think that's what everybody's kind of next in line to see.

SpeakerYou said you couldn't talk about the yield. Well, because for the... I can talk about the yield. With Haley's comment, I got like 41 grams on the HPS, and with the LED, I got like 26. The plant itself, because you got two different... I already said that when I put the plant in there, right from the beginning of the video... What's the percentage of yield, though? Pardon me?

SpeakerIs it the percentage of yield? Yeah, I'll take a better look at the resin, and I talked to Mark about that, and how... I even found that even with the first bounce from the Haley's, it was just so minimal, so hard to get that resin off that plant. So right now it's just in a bag, so until I can just do some further, what the next step is.

SpeakerAny advice?

SpeakerGet an NMR. Do you know what? If you can ship one up to Vancouver, that'd be awesome. I'm sure that a lot of people here would be greatly appreciated. Yeah, the first thing that we talked about when we were talking about LEDs versus like the sun or high pressure sodiums was the spectrum of light. The closer you could get to red, the more resin you would actually grow.

SpeakerSo that's leaf versus resin is blue versus red or yellow versus orange, you know? And so that's why I like using... I'm just seeing how it's doing in the room, right? So I'm just seeing what's happening in front of me, and I'm just curious on what I can do with it, and it's

SpeakerWith the price of power and stuff like that, if I can get the efficiency that I'm looking for to produce the medicine that I need at home for myself, I'm greatly, you know what I mean, on larger scales in production. I couldn't really comment on that, but I mean, as for someone like myself and what I'm looking for, it's getting exactly what I need to be able to, you know, save me money and get me good residents.

SpeakerSo, I mean, I'm not full-born yet and this is it yet. I can't say that. I'm just saying that the first Well, for me, it worked. Now I have to do some more testing and see how things work with it. But I'm happy with what I got with the outcome because we've tested these for years and I'm impressed. That's, you know, like, it works. And it's, you know, next step, right?

SpeakerThat's all we can do. If it can save me money all the way around, which it will, it's a bonus for small home growers for sure.

SpeakerYour vote is for large grows. For large grows, I think it's going to be great for pre-vegging and stuff like that and being able to save money overall, yeah. I mean, and we're seeing even with the height on it, I was able to get some good vegetative results from it. That was in like week three of my video. You can see how great those plants are growing.

SpeakerGet out of here, buddy. Peace, man. See you now.

SpeakerBless you. Thank you. Signing out. Now we just got to make resin with it. Not make it, get it. Thanks for having me, Bubba, man. Nice being here, Soil Grown. Thanks for the information, man. That's awesome.

BubblemanI'm sure a lot of people enjoyed it, bro. Thanks for coming out.

SpeakerYeah, thank you. Peace.

BubblemanPeace.

BubblemanGood fun. A lot of people have been asking about that to really like do a little more than talking about it. Well, I mean, we gave them as much as we could today. If there's some new things that are discovered, we'll keep you guys updated here on Hash Church. That's how we do, try to keep things on the cutting edge. You guys know anyone that belongs on Hash Church, should be up here talking with us, has a particular discussion that you think should be heard, feel free to send me an email at bubbleman at bubblebag.com.

BubblemanOf course, if you haven't already, please subscribe to the channel and share the videos. You can check out Horatio on both Facebook and Instagram. You want to give him your contacts there, Horatio?

SpeakerOn Instagram, it's HDC underscore LHO. And on Facebook, it's Horatio, H-O-R-A-T-I-O, Delbert, D-E-L-B-E-R-T on Facebook. And that's about it for the moment.

BubblemanPerfect. We've got Soil Grown just left, but you can find him on Instagram at Soil Grown. Simple as that. Johnny B., you want to give us your addresses where they can find you?

SpeakerWhere you guys can find me? Well, 420 Weedmaster on Instagram, personal. Then, of course, my Twitter, John Burfellow, just my name. Facebook, John H. Burfellow. YouTube, John Burfellow. Pretty much just Google my name, you'll find me.

BubblemanHow about you, Mark? How can people get in touch with you that have questions for you or want to be in touch, check out what you're doing, your companies, what's going on?

SpeakerYeah, so hey, Tony, tell Jason to look. Tell Jason to look. I'm showing the card. I'm supposed to show this card every time everyone asks me that. Mark at Canistrack.com, right? Look, where are you, Pinsky? Where the hell are you? Come on, man. The Canistrack commercial. It's the leaf turning into the drop. Which we now know has something to do with bringing more science to the cannabis industry.

SpeakerMark at Cannistrack.com. Send me your chemistry questions.

BubblemanBeautiful. Thank you, Mark.

SpeakerYeah, no problem. Hey, Mark, I do have a suggestion for a speaker. Let's get Brad back on when John has a little more update on the LED, and we'll have a good follow-up on that LED. Mark, absolutely. Thanks for the plug, first of all. Yeah, I see it, boss. I see it. All right. We've got to get Alan Wade. To answer your question about how we were at a Canna Grove Expo here in Denver yesterday, and we've made a new friend recently named Alan Wade.

SpeakerAnd if you think Brad Higgins and Mark Chaldone are interesting to listen to when it comes to the science of cannabis, we've got to get Alan on the Hash Church. He would be a great addition to the team. And just hearing him and Brad So back and forth on the science of lighting and spectrum would probably be a really good thing. So I'll work on that in the future as well.

BubblemanAbsolutely. We might want to try and get Dave paid in here for that same episode. Yeah.

SpeakerYeah.

BubblemanAll right. You guys want to give off all your contacts there, starting with Ken, so people can get in touch with you. They can check you out through Instagram, Facebook, YouTube.

SpeakerYeah, definitely. You can find us, Try Come Heavy Extracts, on Instagram. Facebook is facebook.com slash themelts. We also have a merch store, themelts.bigcartel.com. Yeah. Yeah, you can find me at T Verzura. It's T as in Victor, E-R-Z-U-R-A.

SpeakerTalk louder! You can just find me at that one location that pretty much gets you everywhere else. Just first and last name. Perfect. Yeah, so I'm with Mark at Canistract, and also I'm Jason Pinsky on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

SpeakerNobody wants to find me. Yeah, they do. You need to get a hold of Asshole Joe. Get me up.

BubblemanSomeone just said, like, someone said something about Asshole Joe. Asshole Joe's the man. Do people want to get in touch with you?

SpeakerWe're going to be working with Asshole Joe here pretty soon. Swipe right. Swipe right.

BubblemanMost excellent. Well, it was good to meet you, man. It was good to see all you guys. I guess we'll finish it off with a big old bowl. We'll call it an episode.

SpeakerSounds good. We're good.

BubblemanA little dry sift. I puffed mostly only rosin throughout the whole episode there.

SpeakerAnd I puffed basically dry sift through the whole episode here.

BubblemanI don't have an iron yet. Doesn't have a burnout feeling to the high, I'll tell you that much.

SpeakerTahash Church and Tahash.

BubblemanOh, what's this guy going on about? That's always the same thing. People always ask the same question over and over and over again. It's always the most dramatic question.

SpeakerIf they expect to get us involved, that means they're insane.

BubblemanI got some sour D's in my... In my garden right now, a couple of them blooming out.

BubblemanI couldn't tell you how real they are or whatnot, but I guess I'll know when I've finished them. They sure are stretchy as fuck.

SpeakerGet your steaks ready.

BubblemanOh, dude, forget about it. It's insane. Like, crazier than any other plant I have.

SpeakerThey're just like, wow, wow, wow. Yeah, get the six-foot steaks.

BubblemanThose are good for poking your eyes out.

BubblemanAre we soon going to see pictures on Instagram of like motherships with hair straighteners like in nature?

SpeakerMark, have you seen the little hash irons? These little guys? Here, I'll show you, see if I can bring it up to the camera.

BubblemanAre they the ones that Max did?

SpeakerMy friend in Colorado Springs, Rebels Glass.

BubblemanYes, yes, I saw those. Those were the Inspired by Max ones. Those are very cool. I like those.

SpeakerYeah, I got a big one in my town as well. They're really cool.

BubblemanYeah, those look awesome, dude. You just heat it up a little bit and then give it a nice press?

SpeakerYeah, exactly.

BubblemanNice. So look at that. Now, of course, all the glassblowers can be a part of the Rosin Tech as well.

SpeakerYeah, exactly, exactly. Well, 48 hours before I get to fly to Germany.

BubblemanAnd then Spain. I always like stopping in Amsterdam more than Germany, but what are you going to do?

SpeakerGermany, man.

BubblemanWhat's that?

BubblemanHey, we're down here in Germany doing some Hash Church live from a custom cell that I've been put in.

SpeakerApparently you're not allowed to bring pounds of bubble hash into Germany, even if you're going to Spain from Canada. I did not know that. I did not know I couldn't do that.

BubblemanI'll tell you, my shadiest Germany trip ever was late at night, blazing in my friend's van. He was supposed to drive us. He ditched on us at the airport, left me the keys to his van. I had just met Steve Hopps and Nate Dizzle, the glassblowers. And I basically had to drive them to this little town in Germany where Martin from Ruhr owned and operated his little Ruhr factory there.

SpeakerSo they could blow some glass pipes together.

BubblemanWe were just smoking hash the whole way from Amsterdam all the way to Germany, not really thinking about the border. You know, Steve had lots of pipes so he pulled out one of his little mini bubblers and we just started puffing hash, puffing hash. And you know, at one point, we literally just, we blew through the border because it was closed. And we really were lucky in that sense because it would have not been the same trip had those people not gone home and decided to keep the border open a little longer.

BubblemanHave you ever heard of a border closing? Because that's some shit they do on the Dutch-German border. They're just like, oh, it's 11 o'clock, we've got to close the border. Cars can still go through, we just won't be here anymore.

SpeakerSo it's all

BubblemanAll the lights are off and shit. It's pretty weird.

SpeakerYeah, that's that.

BubblemanWorked out in our favor that day.

SpeakerYeah, I guess if you do have jars of bubble on you, that would be the way to go, for sure. Wait till late at night.

BubblemanYeah, because my friend Richard, who was deciding to, he was just driving through Germany, and I think he smoked a joint and the cop smelled it or something. The cop was like, instead of giving him a ticket, he was like, We will check your blood. No, we will take your blood. And he was like, huh? He was like, yes, your blood. We will take your blood.

BubblemanYou can sit in a chair on your own sort of recognizance and give your blood to us. And he was just like, he's been living in Holland 20 years at the time. He's from New York as well. He was just kind of like, what do you mean you're going to take my fucking blood? They did in the end take his blood.

SpeakerI would have done the same. I'd be like, what do you mean? You're going to take my blood?

BubblemanThey're like vampires, man. Holy shit. Anyway, when my friend left that venue, the cop came up to the car and was like, you know, had his arm up on the door and was talking to Richard. And Richard was just kind of like, you know, the cop was kind of over to the side and out of the way. And so Richard just closed his door, didn't even really slam it, but then slammed all four of the cop's fingers into the top of the car door.

SpeakerOh, my God.

BubblemanYeah, dude, said he screamed like so loud, like a small child, like... Oh my God. Yeah, thought he was going to get the beats, and in the end they just let him go. They just wanted his blood, apparently.

SpeakerWow, that's very awesome.

BubblemanWell, they knew he didn't slam it on purpose. I'll tell you, when Richard told me that story for the first time in Amsterdam years ago, I damn near pissed myself. What are you asking, Cybones? Who was first, Nickity or Bubble Man? First for what? Like who was born first? I think I might be older than Nickity. Or do you mean like the first one that lost their virginity?

BubblemanBecause we haven't talked much about that sort of thing.

BubblemanNot sure what he's asking.

SpeakerNot quite sure, no.

BubblemanNo.

SpeakerMaybe it's like the chicken and the egg question.

BubblemanIt is the chicken and the egg. It's the egg and the Taurus. Which came first, the Taurus or the egg?

SpeakerOh, nice. Beautiful, Bobo. Beautiful. All right, Bobo, now while I'm out, I'm going to get to microplaning and get back to the lab. Let's get an asterisk.

BubblemanYeah, dude, right on, guys. Thanks, everyone, for joining. Thanks, AJ, for sharing your stories. Thanks, Pinsky, for coming in and setting up the intros and giving us some history to some things, and Mark and John and Horatio, Tony, for bringing everyone together, and all the people that came and went, Cuban, Soil Grown, D420K, Fletch, and Jeff, the Reverend. Thank you guys all for coming and hanging out in Hash Church.

BubblemanPeople really do appreciate it, and... I appreciate it as well. See you guys next week.
