BubblemanHello, hello, hello. Welcome to Hash Church, episode 38. You guys believe that we've been at this for 38 weeks straight? There has not been a missed episode of Hash Church in the 38 weeks that we've started it. I'm very happy to have that be a part of the reality. I've a few times been pretty close to not being able to do Hash Church. Had to step out last week.

SpeakerHash Church, episode 38.

BubblemanThere we go. That was a little bit loud. So here we go. Running live. Let's hope that that link got sent out. We never know if it does. YouTube can be funny. I sent it out to 18 people this morning, but you never know. It can be funny. So we've got an interesting Hash Church up for today. I've got nothing really major planned, but of course inviting in the panel of regulars, discussing the thing that we oh so love so much.

BubblemanIt says we've got zero viewers, which I'm having a hard time believing. Live yet? Yes, yes, yes. All right. Let's see what we got. Hash Church. Good morning, good morning, good morning. Hey, why don't we have a bowl? I think that that is something that I'm ready to do for sure.

BubblemanEveryone refresh if you can't see it. I had to. All right, well, there you go. ATN, welcome, my friend. Hey, buddy. How are you doing today? I'm doing pretty darn good. I wasn't sure if we were broken there because just before you came in, it said zero viewers. Now we're at 107. I never know if things are working properly from this perspective, but good to see you.

Etienne FontanGood to see you as well. I've been watching you on Periscope all week with your fun little interludes hither and thither, so thank you for those.

BubblemanYeah, they're kind of fun, you know. It's a different opportunity for me to, I guess, get into a different level of conversation that I don't... I mean, I'm forced to do it because I'm the only one talking. I can read people, but I'm the only person talking, so it really creates this different sort of... Talk.

Etienne FontanWell, that's the awesome thing about it. It gives you another venue and a way to communicate with people as well as to take your show on the road a bit, which has been lacking, unfortunately. I mean, you actually record what you do around the world and you actually mix it down and put it out there, but now you can get out there and go raw.

BubblemanYeah, exactly. You know, like just to be able to talk, just to be able to connect with people. And, you know, I mentioned on my last Periscope that only 20 or 30 people were watching live and it would show me that little number in the bottom right corner. But when I would stop Periscoping and then it would show me my stats, it was showing me that several hundred people were watching live.

BubblemanSo it's confusing to say the least. I'm not quite sure I understand it yet.

Etienne FontanWhere do we go here?

BubblemanSo I've sent out the link to a variety of people this morning. I think it's a bit of a potential busy Sunday for many with the Secret Cup happening. I don't think we'll be seeing Nick or Todd potentially, but we wish them the best out there.

Etienne FontanTodd's back already.

BubblemanOh, he is back already.

Etienne FontanI would expect him to make a spot, a showing. Oh, very good, very good. It'll be good to see him.

BubblemanBe good to see him. So what are you puffing on this morning, Etienne?

Etienne FontanI was just getting ready to puff on some of this. Ooh, some of this, he says.

Etienne FontanDamn, some honeycomb? Yeah, some fresh honeycomb from Oakland Extracts. Nice, nice. Local producer.

BubblemanSo... Keeping the bar high?

Etienne FontanYes, setting the bar high so that people have something to enjoy. Salute to your tours, sir. Oh yeah, you got the colored water in there? Yeah, it really helps in keeping the resin down. The res blocked plus from all those guys out of Texas. Great stuff. Great stuff.

Etienne FontanWhat are you buffing on this fine morning, sir?

Etienne FontanA little OG rosin.

Etienne FontanOh, that's pretty. Did you press that yesterday?

TonyNo, I pressed this about a week ago.

BubblemanDoing research in regards to how I can, you know, notice when it stays stable, notice when it loses that pull and snap and butters and cakes out.

BubblemanExcuse me.

BubblemanWhoa!

BubblemanWell, hopefully Owen Smith comes in later today and gives us a little bit of a lowdown on the Smith case that just came through here in Canada. It's pretty big news for us. We won extracts on a federal level in our highest courts of the land.

Etienne FontanNow, this is a pretty... Congratulations. That is huge news, especially for all these experts here in this panel and up in Canada. I mean, that's huge for all of y'all, I mean, on so many levels. So, congratulations. Long, hard-fought battle. Way too long.

BubblemanFor real, give thanks brother. I think it's pretty incredible what the bill really means is, and I'll give you guys a quick little explanation. Hopefully Owen will pop in here in the next little bit and he'll be able to sort of take over from me. Otherwise, I will dedicate at least an hour of a future Hash Church for Kirk, the lawyer, Kirk Toussaint, and Owen Smith to come in and tell a little bit about this historical case.

BubblemanBut to give you an idea of what happened, Ted Smith was running a dispensary in Victoria. And he hired Owen Smith to run his bakery. Owen was basically baking medibles and he was busted. So the court case ensued. This was several years ago. And that court case took a while to go through. When it ended, it was several years ago. And how it ended was the judge in the case decided that it was unrealistic and that it was a breach of the charter of our human rights to allow someone medicine, but only allow them a specific way of using that medicine.

BubblemanAnd he was a very smart judge in the way that he or they changed, sorry, no, he changed the wording from dried marijuana, which is a specific word, Compound of dried bud. That's all dried marijuana is as defined by the Canadian government. This judge figured that he would remove the word dried and he would change the definition of the word marijuana because marijuana on its own would now be any...

BubblemanThank you for joining us.

BubblemanI'm actually allowed to have nine pounds of hash in storage. And so this was for the last couple of years in BC, but that judge brought it to the high courts of British Columbia, our Supreme Court of the Provincial Supreme Court. And in that judgment, three judges, we won a dissent, which was to bring things to the Supreme Court of Canada in Ottawa. And that's where we recently won in front of the Thank you for watching.

BubblemanAnd she is continuing to toe the line that there's no medical value of cannabis, that it hasn't been proved, there's no safety and efficacy testing, and they just want to make sure that, you know, deadly, nasty pharmaceutical drugs, which have been tested and deemed safe to use, even though they can kill you, that's kind of the route they want people to take over the plant route, which is...

BubblemanYou know, simply put, much easier, much safer, and much more effective. So, it's hard to imagine that the health minister, our health minister, who is in charge of medical cannabis in Canada, doesn't actually believe that there is any medical value of cannabis.

Etienne FontanThat is hard to believe after all the evidence that they had and You had seven judges come out and still she still acts with willful ignorance, in my opinion.

BubblemanRight? Willful ignorance. Man, did he ever nail that, I'll tell you. I loved Kirk's whole talk that he did on the news. I think that it was potentially the greatest cannabis pro talk I've ever heard on the news. It was almost scripted to just... It was just such common sense, you know, and Kirk was just being so specific about it, you know, somewhat intense in his issue that he's watched a lot of people suffer over the years and he's watched people's lives be destroyed and he's watched people get jailed and, you know, it's just crazy, dude.

BubblemanThat's all I'm saying. Oh yeah, that's what I'm saying. Look at that. Ramon, and I'm so spaced.

Etienne FontanShe's a criminal, actually. She's supposed to be your leader there, and she won't even take the lead to educate herself to the point where she won't even make herself not look like an ass every time she speaks. And on top of that, when you're on the other side of the law, you're also on the other side of history. So I wonder how she's going to enjoy that one.

BubblemanYeah, it's interesting. She's definitely not happy. She went on our news and she said, I have the link to Kirk's interview and I put it in the Hash Church group, which I want you guys all to go and join. I will accept your join. It's a closed group. Nothing's going to show up on that group on your timeline. And it would be great to have more people who are watching join up to that group.

BubblemanIt's where we kind of keep in mind, we can keep in touch throughout the week. In that one spot it would be the easiest if we had a concentrated spot instead of thousands of different social media outlets coming at me from all different angles asking questions. Hey, you should have this person on or hey, we should do this. If it's in Hash Church and it's on in the group, it can just sit there and everyone can see it and it'll be a lot easier.

Etienne FontanI think what you're doing is right in that people are calling for her head. And I think it should be continued and it should rise to a crescendo until she actually resigns because that is actually a disgrace to Canada and intelligent people everywhere for her to be so boldly, as I said, willfully ignorant.

BubblemanIt's pretty much, you know, just we're all in disbelief, man. I mean, what else can you really say? We're all in disbelief. You know, I thought at least once the Supreme Court, you know, and I see her argument. It's brilliant. She's got the brilliant argument from a lawyer's standards, from a lawyer perspective. What they're saying is, is that never before has a judge been able to turn something that was deemed by, you know, Health Canada.

BubblemanWhich their job is to deem whether a medicine is a medicine, which I suspect they deem cannabis as a medicine because they have a program, even though the head of the Health Canada doesn't believe that it's a medicine. But their argument is that no judge has ever made a drug a drug just because he made a judgment. They are arguing that drugs have to go through a strict, you know, like an FDA type thing for Canada.

BubblemanAnd you know what? I totally agree with her because drugs are dangerous. But let's not pretend cannabis is a drug. Let's call cannabis what it is, an essential food source and a natural herb. She can continue to do her thing with all the weird pharmaceutical drugs that are being created, but we don't need to convince her of the medicinal properties of cannabis when cannabis is the number one on the oldest pharmacopeia in the entire world.

BubblemanIt's the number one met herb. It's cannabis. We don't need to be convinced. I sent Johnny B and everyone else links, and I don't know where they all are. You know what I'm saying? I've sent it out in Facebook.

Etienne FontanI see different people chiming in in the chat, but I haven't seen them put it in yet. Well, there's John, the man, the myth, the legend, Mr. Smoking Hash outside of the government the other day upon victory. That was so balls, dude. That was so awesome.

SpeakerIt was just City Hall, and I needed to do a dab, and... It was quick and easy and it was about us supporting the right for the capacity clubs here in Vancouver. I know Mark was just mentioning about it and a lot of stuff going on out here and I mean we're making history right across the board. It's good to see and they are going to regulate clubs in Vancouver.

SpeakerIt is going to happen and how they're going to do that is really based on how a lot of the people are going in there and voicing their opinion about the The 300 meter access, the $30,000 fee where it turns out that I was surprised that pharmacies only pay like $133 a year for licensing fee. It's like blown. I couldn't believe that. I know, isn't that cheap?

SpeakerBut a lot of good stuff was brought up at the meeting and I know it's all filmed and it's all on Vancouver websites and stuff like that. Good morning everybody.

Etienne FontanGood morning, Johnny B. Thank you for going out and testifying and putting your voice in and not sitting by complacence. So, double thumbs up for going out there and speaking out.

SpeakerSorry, if it wasn't for the BCCS when I walked into those doors when I first got injured, I don't know where I'd be today because... And it was about the oil forms of THC that saved my life. And for me to go there and be able to present the video and give the information, I gave them a package that we put together on regulated cannabis markets, everything that we saw that should be put in back in 2007, 2008.

SpeakerSo I was happy to present that to them and I know they're going to go through it. And, you know, a lot of good stuff will come about what's going to happen here over the next few months in Vancouver. We're going to see a, It changed the whole country, I think. Because once municipalities start doing it, it's just going to start going and going. And we're going to have, wherever we go, we're going to be able to do Medicaid.

BubblemanWell, that's cool that all those years later that the club, the BC Compassion Club, would be the club that helped you, Johnny B. I didn't really actually realize that it was that club that helped.

SpeakerThat was the club that saved my life.

BubblemanDude, well, that was the club that I grew for in 1996.

SpeakerNo, it was the poachie. That was the poachie. Wow, that was a strain that really, really worked so well for my pain in the max. There were certain strains that I always had to cater to that worked well for me. It's what got me back. Back I was at my pain programs, everything, the BC Compassionate Club, I went for their, so I learned about the herbalists and nutritionists and I went and saw them there and I learned a lot about how I can control my pain by learning that like tomatoes and green peppers and certain things acidic cause more pain in my back and I learned that all because of their programs.

BubblemanIt was... And that was all because Hillary decided instead of like, Hillary was, was, is, is an amazing person in the sense that She's one of my inspirations, in fact, for Hash Church. I could be using the traction of this channel to promote my own agenda and to promote my own thing, but I really like the Hillary perspective of she started the club on her own, It was just her in a backpack.

BubblemanThere was just a few of us growing for her, and it grew and grew and grew, and it turned into this powerful, incredible thing that Hillary refused to ever accept any profit from. He always just was like, wanted to turn the profit unto itself and give back to the people that the profit was coming from, because it seemed insane to make profit off of, at least back in those days, terminally ill people.

BubblemanThe only people in In the 90s, who were allowed to go to the clubs, at least the club, I think there only was one, had to be like terminally ill. So it was a heavy time when a lot of the people who were members of the club and became like family were passing away because they were so ill. So that was a heavy duty psychological time for sure.

BubblemanI wish Hillary was up right now. I just sent her the link to Hash Church.

Etienne FontanI mean, she helps lead the way there. I mean, led by example, thanks to you guys because, you know, down here we always look to her as well and we're always a firm believer in giving back. That's why we found acupuncture and massage and other ways to channel that money into ways to give directly back to the patients because, you know, in California we have to be a not-for-profit, which means every year it has to be zero, so we have to spend it all.

Etienne FontanRegardless, so the reality is to give it back. So right now we give free cannabis up to an eighth or depending on edible over to 250 people a week. Still paying it forward, still have to pay it forward and unfortunately we're still losing people. I lost a couple of people just last week and lost an ex-employee just a week ago. Unfortunately, it still goes on. We still have way much work to do, but I'm so proud of you guys up in Canada.

Etienne FontanYou guys have so much to do now.

BubblemanWell, I know that Valerie Corral was a big inspiration on Hillary. Todd was definitely an influence. I remember right before Hillary started the BC Compassion Club, I had just moved from Manitoba to BC. It was 96th. And she was kind of back and forth between L.A. or, sorry, Bel Air, where Todd was living in that big house that he got busted in and served the time for, along with the Rene Beaujet and a few other people that got caught up in that.

Etienne FontanI visited that house.

BubblemanRight. So Hillary was back and forth, and I'll never forget her sitting on my living room floor and sort of talking about this idea she had. She didn't really like the medical aspect, the medical marijuana term. She liked compassionate... Cannabis. And so she wanted to start this Compassionate Cannabis Society, which became the BC Compassion Club Society. And it was kind of like, she was like, oh, you know, should I go back and be with Todd?

BubblemanBut I know Todd's not really a one girl guy and that's hard for me. Or should I stay here and do the right? So she had the ability to go live in a mansion, you know, in Bel Air and kind of get, you know, sucked into the sort of temptation of the awesomeness of that. And she chose literally selflessness, give it all away, go and start this club.

BubblemanAnd it's why for me, when I first came here, Hillary was only one of my only friends in BC. I didn't know many people. And I knew her because she worked at Hemp BC through the early 90s. And we were the hemp guys from Manitoba that would come to BC and bring, you know, a bunch of different hemp stuff. We'd sell it to market at Hemp BC and then Hillary was the one working at Hemp EC back then, so it was kind of an interesting way we all met.

BubblemanI wish she was up and in the room. People sleep in. That's what I'm saying.

Etienne FontanWell, Hillary, she learned from Todd. Todd opened one of the first compassion clubs in the United States, in San Diego, and he gave it all away. As soon as he grew it, he gave it all away. This is way back in 96 and stuff, so that was... He was the one leading by a complete example. He had a house and whatever he grew and produced he gave straight away to the sick and dying people at the time.

Etienne FontanSo, you know, much respect to the history.

BubblemanYeah, for real, dude. Absolutely. Yeah, the club here opened in 1996. I can't remember the exact month, but I definitely, I remember it was right after I moved here.

Etienne FontanAnd it's still going.

BubblemanAnd it's still going.

Etienne FontanI would say that is the oldest one in North America because the first patient group is the oldest in the United States now and we're from 99. So oldest in North America she would be.

SpeakerYeah, they stated it was 18 years she's been helping patients and really it was about determining along the beginning. It was very much a part of that Vancouver talk. A lot of people talked about About how great the BCCS had helped them and saved a lot of people's lives and stuff, so it's... For real. It saved my life, so... Before I smoked this, I had to show this epic rosin.

SpeakerWhat is it? That's many cushion. I did it with the 73-90-120. I squished it at about 140 degrees for about 18 seconds. It was fresh frozen, so it had moisture in it. Mark tried it the other day and Now, a couple days later, it is just amazing.

Etienne FontanI got cat in the mouth just looking at that thing.

BubblemanBut I'll tell you, you want to wear welding goggles when you take rips of that because it's so full of water. It just goes spurt, spurt, spurt, spurt, spurt. You know what? I want to macro photograph a dab of that because it will be incredible. It literally explodes, Etienne. I knew it when I saw it because he showed it to me and I was like, dude.

SpeakerLet's see if we can do this.

BubblemanThat looks like some fresh fucking like rosin. Hey, welcome, Fletch. What's going on? Just having a nice slow start to Hash Church, talking to Hillary, trying to get her in. We were talking about the BC Compassion Club and what a huge inspiration that club has been here in Vancouver. John just kicked down the fact that the BC Compassion Club saved his life. And it's just neat to hear.

BubblemanI haven't been a part of the club in so many years. And even when I was, all the people that would thank me for my kindness, all my kindness was really... Um, energy that was deserved to be put to Hillary and she refused it. So, you know, anytime I tried to give her any type of profit, she would just push it onto the club. And so, any donations, anything that I always might have looked like a hero for doing, it was really her kindness.

BubblemanShe deserves the props is all I'm trying to say. Welcome, Mark. Hey, how are you? Sorry for being late. Hey, don't worry about that. You're never too late. We've been having a nice slow start to Hash Church. Johnny B was taking fresh frozen rips of rosin that I didn't really see it spurting, John, and I had the camera open big. We'll have to do a macro photograph of that because, man, when I hit that the other day, and it's crazy because Horatio was just asking me the other day, he's like, we have to figure out this rosin thing because I almost lost an eye the other day.

BubblemanI guess he got Boiling hot rosin jumped out of the nail onto his... Yeah, so that becomes an issue where, you know, you want to make sure that your product is safe. How bad would you feel if you gave someone a dab? Now, the hash that John has looks... The rosin looks surreal. Like, it is beautiful. But we need to give hits of it with welding goggles on because it's potentially dangerous to the eyes.

SpeakerI made this yesterday morning and it's actually 24 hours later and maybe that first 15 minutes it was crackling but over a little bit of time when I first put it in the freezer after I squished it, you can see the water squish out the end. It was pretty cool so I'm learning how to play with it but definitely got to be a little careful but the flavor, like you said, it's the fresh terpenes and that's what I like about it so much.

BubblemanWell, it's like when we put the fresh bud in the sublimator that time when we were playing around and we were like, man, this sublimator just vaporizes anything and we were like, I wonder if it would do fresh bud. And we shoved fresh bud in there and I'll tell you, the taste of fresh bud, that could literally be a dessert at a restaurant where you bring a fancy vaporizer and you stick a variety of fresh bud that's growing on the plant.

BubblemanYou let the person clip it off, trim it themselves, stick it into the little piece and just give them a vapor hit of this Somehow the sublimator has a hot enough heat to pull that flavor out without fucking it up full of steam. I don't even know how to explain it, but definitely something to be said for that tool. What temperature does it run at, Mark? What's that?

BubblemanWhat temperature does it run at? It's got numbers, so I personally haven't done the laser zip, but I can tell you that when I vaporize herb... Let me go do that. I pour the herb out. Yeah, sure, do that, Johnny. The herb is not burnt. The herb is in a metal bowl with a heat wand on top of it, and it comes out lightly tanned instead of, like, burnt.

BubblemanIt does... I don't... I don't get burnt taste off my dabs either. I get more of a preserved hit off of it, and I think it truly has something to do. What I say, Mark, all the time about this damn sublimator is that it somehow has accessed magic, and I don't know how it's accessed it. It's a strange thing. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that the material goes inside the atomizer.

BubblemanIt goes inside this big metal bowl, and... Basically, you're using the heat wand to heat up the metal bowl, but the metal bowl's temperature is the key, not the heat wand's. You want to know the temperature of the metal bowl. And welcome, Tony. I see you're traveling again, dude.

TonyThat's fucking hilarious.

BubblemanHe gets around.

SpeakerOkay, I got the heat gun. I'm on my way to Oakland, so.

BubblemanYou'll need a while there, John, for that. This will take 15 minutes to get to the proper temperature. So this is the atomizer that is the sublimator's atomizer, and all the different sublimators go right on top of that. I don't know. It's a weird one. So you're in Oakland, did you say, Tony?

SpeakerHere, Dean now is... Yeah, I'm on my way to Oakland, and I keep traveling on Sundays, so I apologize. Hey, that's okay. I'm going to try to... I'm going to try to do this from the airplane as well, see how it works.

BubblemanNice. Well, that'll be a little bit, I don't think we've ever had that done before. What do you got there, Archive? Little Max?

BubblemanThat's an MNP?

BubblemanYou're muted. You are muted, my friend. You must unmute yourself, or we cannot hear you. My Count Dracula voice.

BubblemanSo, no, Cuban Growers, I'm going to show up here. Cuban Growers, oh yeah, that is a Max, beautiful. I talked to him the other day for the first time in quite a while. And simultaneously, I found all these videotapes. All these crazy shows, like the glass show that Slinger and I did. Melting Point, Jamaica, a bunch of different grow room footage and a lot of different like all the old Tokers bowls.

BubblemanI got a cannabis cup from 2001 where I go to Soma's apartment and I walk around Soma's apartment and he takes me on a little tour. I got Making Bubble by the Ocean. Basically I got a shit ton of these tapes that I'm going to slowly release over the course of the next couple of months or whatnot. And today I put up the first one. I don't know if you guys saw it, but it's the Jamaican Steam Pipe video.

TonyYeah, I saw that.

BubblemanYeah, that's good. Ten years old. Old school Reds showing it how it's done. And that was kind of fun. It's interesting how old the vaporization process is. Simplicity. I'll tell you, Mark, it blew me away again, this damn steam pipe that's literally like, you've got to think that it could go back so far, even though it doesn't seem to archaeologically, but then how would you find a pipe made out of bamboo from 1,000 or 500 years ago if it just

BubblemanDisappeared. It's not stone. It's not, you know, it's not any of these other things that you can make pipes out of. But I wonder how far it goes up. Free Delisi is in the house. Jeff from Aqua Labs is in the house. Tony is on his way to Oakland.

SpeakerPerhaps the resin preserved the bomb.

BubblemanRight. There you go. I guess the resin could potentially preserve. They've never found one or anything, but I know at least 10 years ago that I saw one, and it was, to me, the most unique, natural vaporizer that you didn't have to plug in that gave you rips that were basically vapor rips. Like, there was no denying the vapor rip of a steam chalice, even though that was a steam bong.

BubblemanIt wasn't made of a coconut.

SpeakerYeah, I thought the first time we put a big full melt patty on top of the coconut ash in that big steam pipe I guess I was smoking. With Kevin. Yeah, that thing was amazing. Tasted so good.

BubblemanSo good. That was the Rasta Kevin who would hang out at Dubwise at the Chalice Station in the back. And the next time that I went there with, but you weren't there. There was a guy walking around in this crazy, epic white outfit, and he also had one of these chalices that was about four feet or three feet long, and he was kind of walking around with it, and at one point I said, I tried to put some hash on his coals, and he was like, no, no, I just steam, I don't smoke.

BubblemanI'm like, no, no, this is steaming. It took me about 20 minutes to convince this guy he needed to try this, and I'll tell you, dude, after he tried it, He literally followed me around for the rest of the night. Like, you know, like, hey, let's take another lick of that. You know, like, put that patch on the balls, man. For those of you that don't know what we're talking about, a chalice like that is a large sort of clay bowl or a stone bowl with the herbs on the inside.

BubblemanAnd then over top of that is another clay piece that fits. And it holds coconut husks. Turned into embers. Just burnt into red embers. And they burn surprisingly clean. They have zero taste. I mean, these things don't smoke any, there's no taste that comes from coconut husk embers. And so, I'll tell you, you put that hash right on those coals and it just starts bubbling and melting and dripping through.

BubblemanAnd Tony, that was definitely, you were the first one to do that, bro.

SpeakerYeah, I put like a whole gram.

BubblemanI know, it was a gram.

SpeakerI smashed it in my hand like a perfectly pressed out disc. And it was crazy because when it hit the, because these are like, when you talk about coconut husks, it's not like really like thick. They're like flaky. And they're like already like charcoal. So they burn like white and then they just blow off into the air. They're that light, but when I dropped this like full melt patty, it actually never hit the coals.

SpeakerIt almost floated like a magic carpet, and it just bubbled and floated and evaporated into it. It was like, it was amazing. It was one of my favorites.

BubblemanYeah, that's just one of the small little incredible aspects of Jamaica where you can go there and kind of be so surprised at the level of sort of like ingenuity and That has been, that has been come up with without the tech, without huge technological advancements, but just a simple thing like, you know, collecting finger rub and putting it on top of the coals of a chalice like that.

BubblemanSo nice. Welcome Horatio. Morning, morning.

TonyI guess since we're kind of talking about, you know, old kinds of pipes and stuff, Bowman, you might remember the glass gravity bong. That used to be at Glassworks Park in Seattle. I imagine they probably started making them, but the Gravity Bong there, I'm sure everybody remembers, you know, making one of those. They used to have these, you know, like basically two glass tubes inside of each other.

TonyOh, see, Bowman's got one right there. So when are people going to start dabbing with that thing?

BubblemanI have, and it's insane. I gave Johnny a hit, and he was almost afraid.

TonyOh, they're insane. They're insane.

BubblemanHam. Ham Brushland.

TonyYeah. That, um, I think we should bring it back. Where's the fully worked mothership? Gravity Bomb Dabber.

BubblemanWell, you know, we just showed it on Hash Church, so that's the first step. Second step, we'll be making a couple of videos of taking, like, gram and two gram rips, because that's the thing. This thing, I remember at the Tokers Bowl years ago, giving, like, Jody Emery coming up and taking, like, half a gram of bubble hash in one rip, which I'm telling you, back then, that was a fucking lot.

BubblemanTo clear it, too, like, take the whole thing, it's a... This is also accessing magic in some strange, crazy way that you can give people hits, they don't even know how much they took. They blow it out, they look like they're fine, and then timber.

TonyWell, I mean, that's why I mentioned it, because, you know, being an 18-year-old kid and someone, you know, putting that in front of you and telling you to smoke it and, you know, take a big old rip, it's like, uh, okay. The same thing like when Jeff, Canvas Reverend, gave me my first toke of like full melt sweetie bubbles, like 160 micron. That was, you know, five plus star.

TonyAnd that was my first toke of nice bubble hash period ever. And so that was, you know, pretty eye-opening as well.

BubblemanWell, Jeff was definitely a legitimate cannabis ambassador back then. Sorry, a bubble ambassador. He would really like promote the bags, buy them like 10, 20, 30 kits at a time.

TonyI bought them off of him and, you know, I mean, that's how I started making them. I used to save every single strain, all the trim, separately in the freezer because, you know, I didn't have as big of an operation back then.

BubblemanHitting that Albert Walker, that Hanson.

TonyThat's a great Albert Walker, straight purple indica, and actually finding out what the quality of the resin is. And, I mean, those one-gallon kits, you know, just for throwing in a few, you know, like a QP or less of trim and getting, you know, Five, six grams out wasn't a bad, you know, hour, two hour project. Absolutely.

BubblemanHey, so Horatio, I'm just in the middle of cutting the video that we did the other day, and we can talk a little bit about these products here, which is another THC acid that Horatio came up with. It's really like a close version, this one. It's darn near pure white. I wish I could get my camera to focus on it. There we go. It's darn near pure white and pretty much odorless and really pretty much tasteless, but when modulated with the pure terpenes, like you said, Horatio, it's kind of like the gas.

SpeakerThat seems to be, I kind of, that's why I wanted to leave it with you, start like mixing in within your raws and your drys if you're bubble and seeing, that's when you start to see it. It's not like on its own everyone smokes it, they're stoned, but they don't really see Thank you so much for joining us.

BubblemanYeah, it's interesting. I mean, there's definitely no denying the strange effects that you get from, especially off of a wake and bake, off of THCA, and how it sort of feels in this sort of, I mean, I guess I shouldn't call it one-dimensional, even though the high is definitely hard to describe. It seems to pick up greatly by just adding, and I haven't added terpenes too much to it, but I've added a terpene profile that was in Full Melt, Bubble, and some Dry Sift, and some Rosin.

BubblemanAnd I definitely felt a more intense effect from just puffing a bowl after hitting a bowl of a dab of the THCA.

SpeakerThat's what I seem to be stoked about is really we've got the strains, you've got your weed, but with a little bit of gas, could it be worth developing, worth breeding on It's a new touch that, you know, because we always thought in one dimension. I'm like, yeah, gas is one dimensional. But what you can do with it is interesting. Well, here's a question from Mark.

BubblemanNow, only if we could do this. When are we going to be able to do testing like, okay, we're talking about THCA and we're talking about terpene modulation and we're talking about the ensemble effect? When will we be able to produce a science where we can test these effects and these synergies that are actually occurring in the body rather than outside of it in a lab where it's like it's missing that crucial component which is us, which definitely we change the game when those things are interacting with us, wouldn't you say?

TonyWell, that would be clinical trials, right?

SpeakerYeah, when it could be studied in a clinical setting with real patients. In a statistically robust way to understand all the different factors that may affect it like diet and body chemistry and you know people's metabolism are all different so I mean you can't make a small group of people and say well we're going to test it on these 10 people and therefore it extrapolates over the entire populace.

SpeakerThat's not how it works. So in order to be able to fund We've got a lot of great people here today. We've got a lot of great people. We've got a lot of great people. We've got a lot of great people.

SpeakerDirectly, I mean, you can patent formulations or methods or processes, but all those things are easy to get around, and so you really have to come up with something new to have an invention, to have a patent that'll hold up.

BubblemanWell, what I'm talking about isn't really that. I'm not talking about human trials. I'm talking about like the way you can use a proton HNMR and you can test, you know, maybe a reaction that occurs between terpenes and THCA or between a cannabinoid profile and a terpene profile and you're putting them together in whatever medium they need to be and then you're testing what's going on. What I'm talking about is a machine that does that through the human body.

BubblemanWhen is science going to catch up to that? When are we going to be able to actually test individual people with a machine like all the machines we know of but built into being able to test live through the reactions, the chemicals, what's going on in that human body at that time?

SpeakerI think this is something where just human intuition works really well. You know when a strain works well for you rather than taking a dab if you want to If you want to smoke a bowl or smoke weed as opposed to smoking concentrate or hash. But I would say that there's a body of evidence out there, again, to say that there are specific strains that can deal with specific conditions that, again, would be something that you'd want to test first.

SpeakerSo there's probably a lot of knowledge just here in Hash Church on what relieves I think it's really important for us to be able to assess all of those particular conditions better than others, and so the science that underpins that, which again would really need to be done in a statistically robust way in something like clinical trials where you can assess all the different aspects that could affect the results, because that's really the key thing is you're looking for results in a multivariable problem.

SpeakerAll the different variables can affect those results. So you have to make sure that this is done in a way that you really understand what is leading to the observation that you're making. I think what you're saying, Mark, is that there's maybe, again, not necessarily a machine, but a database or a way that we can approach this on Social networking or like you know through hash church and through other media outlets to let people know I mean just this whole knowledge that we now have on CBD that's you know within the last you know five to ten years what we know now that CBD does that THC doesn't do and vice versa is is just amazing and I think what people will you know always come to the end in understanding is that There is no reverse engineering what the plant is doing.

SpeakerYou should just take the plant for what it provides. And through the different genetics and the different strains, you can alter the chemical makeup of what the plant can provide. And those are, again, herbal remedies that can be used to address a number of medical conditions.

TonyWell, I think, you know, correct me if I'm wrong, Mark, but I mean, we're really only a fraction of the way through All the cannabinoids and everything in cannabis period. You know, there's, you know, how many hundred, you know, over a hundred that are there plus terpenes and we, you know, we're only looking at a small fraction of it currently. Who's to say that you don't find something new that's high in certain varieties that are then you can attribute to, you know, whatever through trials and people's experiences and all that.

SpeakerYeah, I mean, you're absolutely right. It's the minor components that really differentiate things from strain to strain, and certainly the minor cannabinoids as well as the terpene content that you find. You've got to remember, like, in this recent paper that received some press from El Soli at UMISS where they so-called isolated, you know, seven or nine new cannabinoids. I mean, first of all, all those cannabinoids aren't new.

SpeakerAnd second of all, I will bet you a dollar to a donut that those cannabinoids are degradation products from storing of that weed down at UMISS because they're all oxidized or hydroxylated, and that's a hallmark of bacterial degradation of these compounds. And without exception, all of these compounds, when heated, will go to CBN, the compound that's notorious for giving that popcorn burnt smell. So there's no surprise to me that these hydroxylated and oxidized metabolites are found on weed.

SpeakerAnd you've got to remember, too, I mean, I think in that paper they talked about starting with 7 kilograms. And they isolated, what, 150 milligrams of some of these and 50 milligrams? I mean, do the math. That's exceedingly small. They're not telling you who the major components that were there, which we all know, the major cannabinoids. These are just, again, very, very minor components. But I will bet that those are degradation products.

BubblemanI don't think that it's a coincidence either that the majority of cannabinoids that can exist in cannabis have been almost... Bread out via the prohibition model. The prohibition model had no real place for a lot of these cannabinoids, and so when focused on the how much will I get and how fast will I get it, you seem to leave a lot at the curbside in regards to other cannabinoids and I'm sure other terpene profiles as well.

BubblemanYou got some haziness there, brother? You're muted again.

TonyIt's a GTK Star Dog.

BubblemanVery nice. Very nice. Beautiful. I can almost smell it.

SpeakerI was just making some fresh frozen raws in here if you guys are just playing around.

BubblemanNice.

SpeakerNice. Yeah, so I guess an interesting thing about Horatio's crystalline product is what temperature does that start to melt at? Can you melt that before it decarboxylates? It can decarboxylate a little bit above the temperature of boiling water, right, which is what... Thank you so much for joining us.

SpeakerSo I started watching the, you could say the violence of the melt, because I was looking for stability, just to, you know, without a test result, I'm literally looking for terpenes to be Thank you for watching.

SpeakerThank you so much for joining us.

BubblemanIt kind of, it doesn't really bubble. It kind of does like maybe one bubble when you first put it on, but it really mostly just like turns to a liquid.

SpeakerHey Mark, why don't you dab some right now so I can see it. Alright. Turn your camera down so we can see what it looks like. I will, I will.

BubblemanLet me just figure out the best surface to dab off of so you can actually see. I think maybe... We'll go off of the silicon carbide nail. So this will be a bit tricky because it's on. It's going to get hot fast. This will hit it out of the egg.

BubblemanThis one over here. I wish I had my dual cameras. Hey, welcome, D420K. Thanks, bro.

SpeakerMorning, Johnny. Morning, Johnny. Now... How is the buzz on that? I know you guys probably already said it, but I got in late, and how is the buzz on that cocaine-looking product?

BubblemanYou want to take this one, Horatio?

SpeakerWe used to call Dry Sift the cocaine-looking product. Yeah, that stuff looks a little whiter, it seems. It looks pretty impressive. I'd really like to try it out. I will be down on Wednesday, by the way. Hint, hint, hint, hint. Just to let you know, you know, I don't know. Chiro, have a sesh. Just put it out there, you know, bring your cocaine-looking THC stuff. I'll buy dinner.

SpeakerNo problem, buddy.

SpeakerI'm stopping by. All right. How is the higher ratio? Tell me about it.

SpeakerI don't, it's like, to me it's like coffee and then add the strain to jump off a cliff or run up a hill. It's like cocaine too.

SpeakerYou get really fast.

SpeakerI don't even know that.

BubblemanThis is so hard to do. I just want it to focus on my nail but it doesn't want to.

BubblemanThe camera's better than this. It should just focus, but I don't really have the ability to... Oh, there we go.

Etienne FontanThere you go.

BubblemanPerfect. I'm doing this all in one... It's hard. Give me time here.

SpeakerHow can we set it to your screen so it doesn't take off?

BubblemanThat's as good as it's going to get. And that actually bubbled more than it did before.

SpeakerYeah, it bubbles quite a bit. It looks like it. Oh my goodness, is that good.

SpeakerI need it in my lungs.

SpeakerSo Horatio, are you planning on sending a sample of this to a lab to have it tested? The only lab I had access to banned me for my test scores being through the roof for an activated product. And then I discovered it's because they sell a similar product out the door at half the strength. So I'm now fishing for a new location. Did you want to mention the name of that lab?

SpeakerEverybody, you know what, yeah, because everybody relies on them. So that kind of ethical practice is unethical. The fact that they don't test any active products because they sell it and obviously they can't sell it. And to make it worse, to block somebody who produces a cleaner, better product because that might throw off their market. So yeah, I guess I do have a problem with Salvation Botanicals and their extract.

SpeakerAnybody who's local will know if they rely on it or not.

BubblemanWell, it's always about bettering, right?

SpeakerOh yeah, it's how did it help me to get a test result and then want to stick with a lab and then, oh, you can't come back, you do something like what we do. So start over again and lose your original test result so you have no comparative data.

Etienne FontanThat's why I work with about three to four different labs so that I have comparative data, you know.

SpeakerWell, these labs aren't really supposed to be doing any of this. They are just able because they're producing it by mystery. So there shouldn't be a product on the market by a lab. There's no access for us here.

Etienne FontanHey Horatio, people are wondering what is your vaporizer you are using?

SpeakerIt is an old destroyed IPV3 from Hash Church 2 to 37.

BubblemanYeah, that question's been probably the most asked question in all of the Hash Church episodes.

BubblemanOh, it hurts my brain.

SpeakerFreaks.

BubblemanFree Delisi. Free Delisi's in the chat. What's up, dude? Karma Genetics is in the house. What's going on, Karma? Ding. Aaron from DNA Genetics is saying, no church for me today. But he says hello to everyone.

SpeakerOkay, I've got a question for you, Mr. Skeldone. I've been taking in anecdotes from people who clearly there's a large majority of people that are hoping CBD-based... Thank you for watching.

SpeakerThat getting CBD bred back into a THC based plant is more natural to a solution. Like Haley, it seems that it didn't work for her. Cheryl's child didn't respond to that CBD hemp mixed with a THC to make a fake one-to-one. It didn't seem to solve seizures the same way a true one-to-one did for her. But I started reading online and I never had any concept. Charlotte's Web is pure hemp.

SpeakerBecause I've seen the pediatric dose ratios and now I'm, because I started to wonder, I'm like, I thought there should be a shit ton of seizure success stories. Where are they and why can't I find a common thread between them and the different seizures? Because one works for one kid and then it doesn't work for another type. And then I'm reading in articles that what works for Charlotte didn't work for most kids and that's why the Stanley Brothers and their product isn't like a world-renowned success is because they're sourcing more hemp than they are breeding a unique strain of THC CBD.

SpeakerIs that true that like we're stuck literally back like basically should I be trying to isolate CBD and mixing the two and creating ratios of just that to explore? It seems fruitless but Thank you so much for joining us today.

SpeakerThat the Stanley Brothers now actually sell their material on Amazon. I mean, you could buy it coast to coast on Amazon.com. I don't want to promote their product. I have nothing to do with their product at all, but I can tell you that there was a lot of people who were very, very concerned about some of the lack of certificate of analysis of some of the products that were out there on the market, not the Stanley Brothers in particular, but Thank you for joining us.

SpeakerMartin Lee and the Project CBD team did a pretty good job in trying to straighten a lot of that up and make sure that customers are very, very informed that, yeah, I mean, there were some low-quality products out there that had low CBD or no CBD from what I hear. I don't have any particular experience with any of those products. I can only tell you about the one that Jessica is providing, Naya, that seems to be working, and that's the one from Elite Botanicals in Loveland, Colorado.

SpeakerAnd I do believe that their material now is being shipped coast to coast through Mary's Medicinals, a well-known company that provides... All kinds of different patches and balms and creams and lotions. In fact, I think you could actually go to the Elite Store in Loveland and actually buy CBD product right there at the store. So that is the only one that I can really speak to, but I think that, yeah, Horatio, you're absolutely right.

SpeakerI mean, I tried to make this a point on a comment on Facebook a month or so ago is that, you know, the... Thank you so much for joining us.

SpeakerFrom your local gardener, your local provider, your local dispensary, you'll want to keep your eyes on what ratios are effective at controlling certain diseases and what the dosing that you bring up is really extremely important because the medicine is actually extremely effective, extremely low dose, but you'll know that the body basically goes through it pretty quickly. You have to understand based on the weight of the patient, the kilogram weight of the patient, and really whether or not that patient is extremely fit in a variety of different ways.

SpeakerIf they're immune compromised and already they're on a different diet, then they wouldn't be on perhaps a low-fat diet or if they're on a high-protein diet. All of these things are going to affect The effectiveness of the medicine when you put it in a patient's body and so that's part of I think what Mark was saying before is I think all of that needs to be studied so we could know that when we look at a patient's profile, a 10-year-old or a 15-year-old child and we can make the best recommendation based on how that child's metabolism works and what's the best recommendation based on the conventional knowledge that's out there today.

Etienne FontanThe ratio, I want to also second what Mark is saying. One of the things that we're hunting for mostly is different CBD to THC ratios in medicines. We've been fortunate that we found the ice to isolate the spike for CBD. And so people, and now that we have testing, people are now finding these varieties. And so we are searching all the time because the first-hand feedback we're getting directly from patients is, All across the board, all ages, is, you know, this certain ratio works, this certain ratio works, but again, it's still individualistic.

Etienne FontanIt is still, you know, one-to-one ratios needed, you know, five-to-one, six-to-one, six-to-two. It's all different ratios that still, pardon me, that have to come forward still, that we still have no idea its effect, but most of the ratios that we're seeing are getting And people are fighting analgesic effects, so it's happening firsthand. So it has shown me firsthand that there is a need. There is very much a need for these types of medicines.

SpeakerThe two receptors that both of these molecules act on are ubiquitous in our body. They're widespread. They're in other organs more prevalent than certain organs, but certainly, Five different organs, right? Right. I mean, you can't just take one and not treat the other. It's kind of like a teeter-totter or a switch. And so you could certainly lean one way or lean the other, and you could see certain physiological effects.

SpeakerBut the best thing to do, again, is let the body basically determine, because what you're doing is, again, you're resupplementing, You're resupplementing the body's deficiency for cannabinoids, but you're also, I mean, you've got to remember that CBD is a great antioxidant, and it's also widely known to control inflammatory response, which is a hallmark of so many different medical conditions. Inflammatory response is responsible for things like migraine headaches, it's responsible for Inflammation in and around wounds, it is so ubiquitous in our body.

SpeakerAgain, the way that our body responds to infection and invasion, inflammation has a lot to do with how it can be controlled. The beautiful thing about CBD and THC is they're both anti-inflammatory, but they're also fat-soluble. So the nice thing about that is because they're sort of stored in adipose tissue, they can slowly be released into the body, which is one of the problematic things about metabolites in the blood.

SpeakerBut it's also good to basically create, again, that basal level of cannabinoids that's in your body at all times to fight inflammatory response. And again, very potent antioxidants. So they react well to quench what are called ROS which are reactive oxidized species which are often implicated in formation of cancer and other malignant growths. So where you can find, you could say testing for the hemp product being provided and they give you results that say this is real CBD.

SpeakerIt's that I am having tremendous success with the THC product that I've produced, the people's body response. I'm terrified of like, yeah, yeah, it's this weird thing where I'm like, there's so many kids, but I can barely find cannabis strains that even have a basic one-to-one, but I could produce all of this CBD theoretically and add it as needed. It feels like man knowing what's best. Which is what my problem with going forward with just ordering a bunch of hemp, making a bunch of CBD, and then doling it out in ratios is why I...

SpeakerInstead, I went to Analytical 360. I looked up all their CBD results, and then I tried to find the strain names based on, okay, that's a one-to-one, but it's also 15-to-15. Write that name down. It still seems like we're supposed to be reliant on the plant to make that combination. I don't see unanimous pediatric success at 66-to-1, just because they mix them up. This goes to what we were saying a few weeks ago.

SpeakerI've been gone for the last three weeks. I think three weeks ago I was at a bluegrass festival. Two weeks ago I was on a train. I should have been on Hash Church. And last week I had my kids' graduation, so I apologize for being gone. But if I remember correctly, four weeks ago we talked about the synergistic effects, in particular about the effects that the terpenes have.

SpeakerOn up-regulating business that happens in the cell. And so again, I think I posted something on Hash Church Facebook link that basically described the way that terpenes interact is to sort of open up the windows at your house and that a lot of stuff starts happening in the cell and things just start turning on. And actually, beta-caryophyllene, I think, is a known receptor antagonist, or agonist rather, for For CB2, so again, whether you're looking at processed CBD oil, which maybe has either removed or gotten rid of any of the beta-caryophyllene, or you're looking at a lesser refined product that could have caryophyllene in there, there could certainly be a very, very different impact on the effect and the rate at which that effect happens.

SpeakerI think that the other thing that's always interesting with CBD is you've got to remember that if it goes into the gut, It completely changes because first in the stomach it's going to hit acid and acid makes CBD turn into four other different compounds and the next thing that happens is it gets into the liver which is a highly oxidizing environment which turns it even those four different compounds even into more compounds.

SpeakerSo when you're talking about the cannabinoids that are actually in your blood, in your plasma level, if you take an edible CBD product, you ain't got CBD anymore. You got a bunch of other stuff. So is it better to vaporize? Again, I'm thinking start with try to make something 100%. If somebody... If they ate that chalk, it would be inactive. Is activating versus inactive make a major role in the CBD side of things?

SpeakerBecause any product I make is going to be terpene-free to standardize it. Until I can standardize my inputs, I'm actually removing terps to create stability. I can only speak on experience. I don't know what everybody else thinks, but what I heard from Jessica is Naya could be in the middle We're going to talk a little bit about what we're going to talk about today. We're going to talk a little bit about what we're going to talk about today.

SpeakerWe're going to talk a little bit about what we're going to

SpeakerAnd, you know, that tells me that sublingual, I mean, first of all, it tells us how starved her body is for these molecules, right, Mark? I mean, when we had Jessica on, we talked about this. It's amazing how quick the body responds in that way, but sublingual, I think, is a really, really powerful delivery vehicle to get cannabinoids that are close to the formulation of what you have in your jar We're going to make sure that all of these things are going to get into the body without chemically changing them because on a vaporization nail or on any other heat source, you're going to instantly change things immediately.

SpeakerWe really know what that vapor stream looks like and whether or not you're taking it off a titanium nail or whether you're taking off a silicon carbide or ceramic, all these things are going to impact The mix of chemicals that we're taking in. To me, it's like when I think that a patient who's in the middle of a grand mal seizure can stop seizing by getting a sublingual drop, that tells me that there's something good about sublingual.

SpeakerYou're getting it into the bloodstream advanced to the GI, so there's no metabolism in the body, and you're getting it into the bloodstream near the brain, where it's the central computer that runs what's going on in the body. So, man, there's something got to be going on there, right? I mean, it's amazing that that happens. Well, that's because I did sublinguals, and then when I moved to this distillate, I tried to factor out everything.

SpeakerAs if I was a product that didn't want to get sued, I factored out everything that I couldn't. I could count on the cannabis, I could trust the cannabinoids, but who knows who doesn't like cinnamon, coconut oil, liquid gum, or whatever other ingredients make up a sublingual. But now that I've got... I got the call. We've got the kids. They're sick. And Haley's comment works, but it doesn't produce.

SpeakerDo you know any other strains? What about CBD? I see people reaching for any options that I'm like, what do I do? Do I try to grow the strain? Because Haley seems to only respond to a specific strain. Where other kids seem to be more expandable. And because I'm doing this blind, I would rather place my bets on a cannabis strain than just grab some CBD, send it off, and hope for the best.

SpeakerSo what you're seeing here, Horatio, is as diverse as the genetics can be in the plant that makes the phytochemicals that we're all talking about here, the genes that make us up That the phytochemicals they're interacting with are even more diverse and even more crazy. So, I mean, that's the thing about clinical trials is what you try to look at is a wide swath of the population where you can address people who are anemic or people who are prone to different diseases or different lifestyles or different, I don't know.

SpeakerClinical trials are very, very long and complex because they involve making sure that you're statistically really seeing an effect at the medicine and at what level are you seeing the level of effect of this that would, again, benefit a patient without sidelining them with a bunch of side effects.

BubblemanWell it makes sense that we have a quiver available to us and that's definitely an important part of the quiver right there, sublingual, being able to take it in as it is, not completely alter it and change it before it gets to do the job that you're promoting it to do. It kind of reminds me of 20 years ago when we were selling or buying and reselling different hemp seed treats that were out there, the Mama Indica hemp seed treat, all these different hemp seed bars, they were all being made with Dead hemp seed.

BubblemanThe hemp seeds had to have been steam sterilized to be able to travel. You weren't legally allowed to import or export or buy living hemp seeds that you could sprout and grow. So they had been steamed to death to the point where there was no nutrient value left in it at all. Yet we were, you know, as activists we were promoting hemp seed like this is super healthy, it's got all the essential amino acids.

BubblemanBut in the meantime, how we were able to actually have it was just dead. It had to be dead. You know, and it's now we're going to find out all these important factors about cannabinoids and how they're altered. And I'm sure there'll be aspects of, you know, requiring to alter them in one particular way because we know when we put it on the nail and it's altering all these different things that it still is giving us effects that we feel relief from and also enjoyment.

BubblemanSo... It'll be interesting to see more testing and more understanding and deeper understanding of the science and of the biology of what's going on in the plants and in the bodies. We're in a good time, I think. I can't see this going backwards. I can't see Nancy Reagan just showing back up and saying, no, we just have to say no. I think she's done, son. What do you say, Horatio?

BubblemanGo ahead.

SpeakerI was going to say that Nancy Reagan knee jerk kind of did happen. It's an outrage that the Supreme Court decided that our punitive policies are unconstitutional. But we'll still fight on and find short form ways to change the paperwork to fuck you over. How about we're going to become a narco nation? We're going to become a narco nation. Did you hear that woman? We pretty much, I mean, didn't they just put out another narco bill the same day the Supreme Court thing came out that basically gives them the right to fuck up the paperwork so that we have to go back to court, potentially?

BubblemanOh my gosh. This is Canada, though. It's just the demons, of course, have to fight their fight for whatever reason. I call it towing the line. When I see someone like Rona Ambrose on camera say that there's no medical benefit for cannabis... I personally believe that she was paid millions of dollars to say that somewhere, somehow. She's got like some connections, some bank accounts, something that she's acquired.

SpeakerThe whiskey industry, the whiskey industry and the beer industry and the tobacco industry. Pharma. I just thought it was they were literally that arrogant to say until we do it, it doesn't exist. It seemed like that was really her view on the world. There was other data but it's not Health Canada data so it's not data. Right. Yeah, she said it wasn't research. It was ridiculous. I mean, it wasn't alright.

Etienne FontanWe have the same thing in the United States when they say we have FDA. They say it's got FDA tested. So, you know, we're not going to listen to it. We're not going to deal with it, etc. If we were going to sit and wait for that, we wouldn't have opened 15 years ago and we still wouldn't be open today. Or you still wouldn't be doing what you're doing.

Etienne FontanRight? Nothing's really changed. It's coming around to us, but We still have work to do.

BubblemanWell, I am going to try and share Kirk's... I posted it on my Facebook. And so I would like to post that. If I can find it. If I can find it.

SpeakerI wish we could figure out a way to play the video clip in Ash Church. That would be perfect.

BubblemanSorry about that, guys. I'm all focused on something else. Yeah, I want to be able to show this clip here on Hash Church, and I think I figured out how to do it, so if you guys just want to, you know, get on with yourselves and have a little conversation while I'm trying to figure this out, I'll open it up into a section of my screen and see if I can't, see if we can't get a little shot of this.

BubblemanIt would be sweet if it worked. Sometimes things work. Sometimes they don't.

BubblemanAll right, so let me just click on that. This is such a beautiful piece of work. If I can make this work, I think we'll be excited about it. So let me see here. I'll go to this. I'll try picture-in-picture mode maybe. Oh, there we go. Custom area. Yeah.

BubblemanGeez, I don't know how to do the custom area. It's ridiculous.

SpeakerHmm.

BubblemanInteresting.

BubblemanAll right, look at that. I think I got it. Let me see here real quick. I've got to change my camera onto my other camera. Ah, technology, eh? All right, you guys ready for this? Can you hear me? Yep. All right, so here we go. We're going to watch this little clip of Kirk Tussaud annihilating our health minister.

SpeakerShould Canadians be able to use medical marijuana in any form? Does the court's decision mean the use of marijuana will be normalized? Should the court have waited for clinical trial? The lawyer who has fought this case through the lower court, the BC Court of Appeal, and now the Supreme Court of Canada, Kirk Tussauds. Good to see you, Mr. Tussauds. Thanks for having me, Rosemary. I imagine it's a happy day for you and your client.

SpeakerThe Minister of Health has had a pretty different reaction. She says she's outraged by the decision and that never in the history of Canada has a drug become a medicine just because a judge thinks so. That's what she said. So what's your reaction to the Minister's comment in that regard? Well, I'd like to tell you what's outrageous.

SpeakerPeople like Liam McKnight who's a pediatric patient should not be smoking joints to get medicinal relief when they can eat capsules or edible products and increase their quality of life. What's outrageous

SpeakerAbout a topic that she seemingly can't stop talking about. That's what's outrageous. Not that the Supreme Court of Canada has protected patients' rights and enhanced the quality of life of sick and suffering citizens across this country. Okay, well let me play a clip of the minister, given you have such strong opinions about what she's been saying. She seems to have some fears that this decision is bringing Canada a step closer to normalizing the use of marijuana.

SpeakerTake a listen. Once you call something a medicine, You're saying that it's an okay treatment. Once you legalize something, you normalize it. You normalize it, the message is it is okay to ingest it. It's not okay for kids to smoke pot or eat pot brownies. Do you think that any of that is true, that that is actually going to influence or send a message to young people or to others that this is okay, that this decision tells them that?

SpeakerRosemary, it's confusing.

SpeakerThank you for joining us.

SpeakerThank you. Thank you. Thank you.

SpeakerBut to be fair, would there not be a benefit to seeing more clinical evidence, more safety reviews, the same way that we have seen when we are dealing with other medicines, whether they're new or old, they have to go through these sort of processes in order to be approved. Well, let's also be clear about something.

SpeakerFor example, it's never gone through clinical trial approval. It was grandfathered in because it has a history of being a safe and effective pain killer. Cannabis shouldn't have to go through a bunch of hoops to be used in the way it's been used for millennia. Is there a need for more knowledge? Sure. More knowledge is always good, and we're learning every single day about new benefits to the cannabis plant, but that's not a reason to criminalize patients and lock them in jail cells for having access to this plant.

SpeakerThat's a reason to continue to study it. The minister says she's going to fight this. What's your understanding of what that fight might look like at this hour? I mean, this is a decision from the Supreme Court, so it's unclear to me what sort of capacity the federal government has to fight back here. Well, I don't think they have any. The fact of the matter

SpeakerThank you so much for joining us.

SpeakerThank you so much for joining us today.

SpeakerWe know that when a legal system forces patients to consort with the black market, it fronts the rule of law and is therefore invalid. And so what I would suggest to the Minister of Health is instead of standing in front of cameras talking about being outraged, she goes back to her desk and gets to work on crafting a reasonable set of regulations that will withstand charter scrutiny and actually benefit patients in this country.

SpeakerThat's her job and that's the job she should be doing. She's got some strong opinions and I appreciate you sharing them today. Thank you. It's been my pleasure.

BubblemanSo that was just awesome. I pretty much loved everything about that.

BubblemanI really did. I wish Kirk and Owen were in here right now to be able to talk about it a little bit.

SpeakerThumbs up for sure.

BubblemanYeah. It was maybe the greatest cannabis interview I've seen ever. I don't really know if I've seen a better one Where everything was just said so great.

SpeakerKurt even presented a nice little five minute statement at City Hall that was in regards to the edibles and stuff like that, which was excellent the day before this hearing. So it was, you know, it was just before and after his great hearing and everything what he has to say to everybody.

BubblemanVery good. Yeah, well he's on that shit for sure. He definitely knows what he's doing when it comes to that. Let's go back to my old camera here.

BubblemanYeah, well, maybe next week. I know I talked to Owen briefly. He said he was going to be down with coming in, but it's early too, and I know that Kirk was over at the Conrise last night, so they were probably celebrating well into the late hours, as they should be. They've been working hard. This damn camera keeps freezing up on me.

SpeakerThere we go.

BubblemanI guess Tony's jumped on a plane. A couple of people won't be making it in today, but I suspect we might still see Todd at one point if he wakes up in time.

SpeakerWell, Etchan, has anybody brought any SHO to your door? Like this week in Facebook, everyone's got rumors of The commercial industrialization happening, half pound presses, there seems to be a bit of a buzz of production scale, basically people being able to provide. I saw some guy hold up a rosin slab that covered his whole torso. Are you seeing that in California that people are able to produce it now at a scale where it's actually economically competitive?

Etienne FontanHave not seen it yet, but I know it's coming because I'm seeing all the pictures as well. People are pressing. I know my people are playing with it. I know myself, I'm playing with it thanks to you guys. So, you know, a new non-solvent methodology is appealing to many people on many levels, so your education across the board is helping many, many people, needless to say, because they're making their own medicine, but It's only a matter of time before we're going to see something that I'll be able to send to a lab and get tested.

Etienne FontanBecause we test everything before it hits the floor.

BubblemanNice standard to have right there.

TonyWell, you've got to set standards, right?

Etienne FontanThat's why I work with different laboratories, because that's the reality of what we're dealing with. If we don't do it, who else will? Because if we waited for our government the same way you waited for your government, You would still be sitting on the sidelines. True enough.

SpeakerAt least now we might even see it enforced here in Vancouver where things have to be more or less labeled and packaged correctly for it to go to market.

Etienne FontanWe're very excited for you guys to see that, you know, so that you can actually take that to market so that you can take your techniques and what you've personally seen and assisted patients with. There's other patients who have seen that or are watching this or are seeing this in the future and are seeing the medicine and what happens, you know, Congratulations. You just found out you've got cancer.

Etienne FontanYou've got MS coming on. You've got this. And you read and you hear about this medicine. Where the hell do I get it? I need it now. I need it today. I need it yesterday. So, you know, it's still so much going to be needed. People are talking legalization is coming. I'm like, yeah, legalization is coming, but medical marijuana is not going. Medical cannabis isn't going away.

Etienne FontanYou know, it's still going to be very much needed. As we said, one in three cancer now, and the next generation will be one in two. So that's just cancer in the industrialized world. So, you know, there's still going to be very much a need for these medicines, and you're seeing these older generations, and you're finally seeing science and everyone coming around to what we've anecdotally known firsthand, as Mark was saying.

Etienne FontanWe know we can feel the effect, and not only that, we've Seeing the effects firsthand and affected the change firsthand. So, you know, keep on carrying on. I want to see you guys be able to do products and take them to market so that, you know, as many people can benefit so that ratio, you don't have that problem of constantly being frustrated of, you know, What kind of genetics to get?

Etienne FontanSo hopefully the clubs will be able to sell genetics legally so that those CBD genetics will be there and available so people can grow them so that they can press their rosin and make their own but as well as you can have your LHO accessible to so many people through the strains and have those strains accessible so that you can produce them on a scale that is accessible through consistency that way all patients can benefit from because Isn't that what we're all working for, you know?

BubblemanOh, yeah. Absolutely, dude.

Bubbleman100%. Just getting a few messages here, trying to read them, but every time I go to read a message, I freeze my computer. The YouTube chat's really, I'm going to have to start ignoring it if someone else wants to go in there and throw someone's questions down every once in a while, but for me, it's just freezing my computer, so I've got to stop with the YouTube chat.

BubblemanWell, I think it's time for a dab. That's what we've got here. This is a good opportunity for me to mention this cool new app I've been using called Periscope. It's been quite fun, hasn't it, Etienne?

Etienne FontanOh, without a doubt. I haven't broadcasted yet, but it's been fun to watch you and Todd and others just Broadcast and then to chime in so it's like your own little mini hash church wherever you go.

BubblemanYeah, Todd turned me on to this thing like maybe a week and a bit ago and it just works through your Twitter and if you add me on Twitter, actually add all of us on Twitter who are in here if you guys want to give your Twitter accounts, mine is bcbubbleman.

Etienne FontanI am Alpha Tango November, which is ATN420, the letters ATN420, which is the phonetic pronunciation.

BubblemanThat's all the Twitters we got?

SpeakerI think it's just you two in the Twitterverse doing it up. I have a Twitter account too, I'm just going to make sure I have the right one.

BubblemanThis is all weird and taboo right now.

SpeakerJust John B.

BubblemanAnyway, this app allows you to go live anytime, anywhere from your phone. And so I've been doing reasonings with Bubble Man off of the Periscope ad. And the links come through Twitter, so.

BubblemanOh, that was a tasty rip. There's my Twitter. There we go. Some Twitters in the house. So I'm definitely going to sign up. I'll check it out.

SpeakerWe like information flowing to everybody.

SpeakerHoratio, I've got to tell you something. My friend that has been eating that stuff for their stomach and all that, they're actually eating it every day. There's two of them in their family that have these problems with their guts. They, like, I believe you met one of them that night we were down at that restaurant and he stepped outside and basically fucking puked. Did you see that?

SpeakerOh yeah. Well, that was his guts and he really fucking is in discomfort with this stuff and so is his auntie, which is Jake's wife, Gaylene, which we all know as well. Now, she wanted to say, she told me yesterday to tell you Her stomach and Tyrone's stomach have never felt better. That stuff works for them better than anything they take. And they honestly take probably about a quarter gram or a little bit less of cherry oil that we make every night on a cracker.

SpeakerThey take a massive amount of oil every day. And it helps with her menopause and that sort of stuff. But she wanted to say it really helps. It's the best thing that they've ever taken for that, and it's working, period. Thank you. Is it helping? So it's helping them actually hold down more food more often? They're not puking, and they're not getting sore guts before they shit it out.

SpeakerIt's helping them completely. Okay, because they are the ones that if there's anything green, and even if the green is cooked down to black, That component within the oil is very threatening to the experience to the point that they pretty much ralph up most of the cannabinoids that come with it. So being able to hold down the food and the medicine is kind of why I factored out the terpenes until we know more when it comes to those little subtleties because it's a wide population.

SpeakerExcellent. Excellent.

BubblemanWelcome back, Etienne. There's a couple of you now, but that's cool. One of you is moving and able to talk.

SpeakerHi, buddy.

BubblemanHi. Casey Reistad there. Yeah, you did a little froze up.

BubblemanA little froze up. Dang. Oh, my goodness. Well, 631 people watching Hash Church this morning. Hope you guys... I know you guys look forward to it every week. I look forward to it every week. Never really make a big plan, just sort of throw it into the air. But I do have a couple of shows that I want to get done in the upcoming months. I definitely want to have Lester Grinspoon back and get his technical difficulties done with.

BubblemanAnd I'd love to have Dr. David Allen and Robert Melamed on the same time when Lester would be in here. That would be kind of a cool panel to start. I want to do a glass show where we invite all these different glass artists to be on the panel, like fill the whole panel up with, you know, Marbleslinger and Marcel and old school, maybe Bob Snodgrass and like, it'd just be a cool panel to do a whole glass panel of artists talking about the scene 20, 30 years ago, 20 years ago, 10 years ago and where it's going in the next 10 years.

BubblemanAnd then the most exciting one I'm really excited to do is to break open the whole sort of story And that was told by a gentleman to him

BubblemanI've invited Skunk Man Sam who said that off camera he would come in and tell his story and Rob would come in and tell his story. I haven't spoken with Reinhardt yet but I'm sure he'll come in and tell his story and yeah, we'll see. Maybe Mila, get some other water extraction hash makers, my manufacturer Mark Rose, he could come on as he was a big part of it at that time as well so.

BubblemanBe kind of a cool show. If you guys think of other shows that you want to see on Hash Church, I don't mind trying to put a show together, subjects that you want to see discussed. Just post it in the Hash Church Facebook group. That's where we can do such things. Yeah, it'd be kind of fun, right? Skunk Man Sam is always around, dude. Are you kidding me?

BubblemanHe's probably in the chat right now reading everything you're writing.

BubblemanSo write something nice. Steve Tuck. I haven't seen Steve Tuck in a while. Yeah, great gardener. I invite him all the time. He's busy too. He was out partying on a boat cruise last night. So it would be quite an amazing history show to show the history of Waterhash and go back into the 80s and the 90s and the early 2000s when it all sort of started happening.

SpeakerI mean, you could do a whole show on the strains that came and went during that era and how they made and broke people. Just like, oh, I can't remember the strain right now. Is it your Romulan? But you always mention that first strain that really turned bubble bags on, but I can't remember the strain name. Come on, it's Rene. It is Rene. I knew it started with an R, but I couldn't, I'm like, it's a big R and a short word.

SpeakerIt is Rene.

BubblemanIt is Rene. Rene was this, listen, it was the timing, you have to understand, 1999, I bump into a guy who introduces me to a guy, and this guy's just growing all of this strain, and he's from Fiji, he doesn't really smoke, he's really straight, but he's super nice, and he's growing, you know, a lot of this Rene. And the first time I go to his grow, I look down on the ground, and there's like keef, like swept into the corner.

BubblemanAnd I'm just like, I'm looking at it like, oh my God, that looks like nice dry sift, like with dust and fucking other shit mixed into it. It kind of hurt my soul. And I remember getting down on all four and kind of like opening the pile and just being like, hey, I want to try this. And literally scooping clean trichome heads from inside the pile, putting it inside of a rolling paper and just rolling it up and taking it home and burning it and remembering like, oh my God, like this is insane.

BubblemanLike, I would pay for this just to burn in my room so I could smell it. The smell was so unbelievable. When I finally got material from them and ran it through the bubble bags, well, the first best material I ever saw that I ran really truly was Breeders Steve Shishkeberry, and it was the yellow line or yellow whatever, and it was, it came out full melt out of just two bags.

BubblemanIt was an isolator bag kit, so. It wasn't until I started my own company about eight months later and I got Renee. And when I made Renee hash, there was nothing like it. It was all alcohol-soluble terpenes. There was like zero water-soluble loss. Like the water had a color, but it just didn't really have a smell. And the smell of the hash was just like concentrated awesomeness from the bud.

BubblemanYou could literally get busted at a roadblock with the tiniest little piece of this hash. And it was the hash that I was able to photograph constantly to promote bubble bags and people were like, at first they thought I was photoshopping shit because they just like really at that time no one was posting pictures like that of glistening, you know, golden fucking window frame glass beautifulness. It just wasn't happening.

SpeakerSo do you think, I mean, I guess, because when I listen to that I'm like, Are you coming across the ultimate growers or the ultimate genetics when you get those opportunities in life? Because I can never tell when genetics can make an average guy seem like an awesome grower, you know, just because that, you know, profile comes through and then there seem to be awesome growers that can break laws and you're the kind of guy that would know them.

BubblemanWell, they both exist, you know. This guy was kind of an anomaly that acquired a great strain that didn't have enough stupid grower's ego. To fuck himself that he ended up just listening to one simple guy and he grew great herb. I mean he was growing 40 gram buds, big tops that were like 40 grams dry, super dense Renee buds that was like, I mean the guy was growing it by the many, many, many dozens and dozens of pounds producing a hundred packs of it and just it was awesome.

BubblemanIt was easy to show someone and they would want it. It just stunk before you opened the bag. People were like, ha ha ha ha ha. It was really quite something that Rene and it was, yeah, it was the first, William Wonders just saying, Bubble Man was the first to post pics showing the translucence of trichomes. Well, back then I was posting pics of the translucence of that hash.

BubblemanThis was in 1999. So that's going back a ways. 16 years. Hey, welcome, Jeff. You know, when you first came in, I was like, who the hell is Jeff?

BubblemanI didn't know your last name, brother. But welcome. I'm glad you made it. How are you doing, man? I'm doing pretty good, man. I'm all bubbled up, having a nice hash church, just chatting away to 628 viewers. You want me, Jeff?

SpeakerHere. Finish making it.

SpeakerShould get clear. Fresh frozen rosin, Jeff. What do you think? Yeah, you know, I definitely think it's interesting. I've seen some people doing fresh frozen rosin, you know, straight out of the bag. They set it on the screen there and dry it out a little bit, and then they press it right away. But I've heard of, you know, a lot of water content being in there. Definitely explode.

SpeakerYeah, what this one guy was doing that I was chatting with, he was actually throwing it in the back oven and purging out the water, which I thought was an interesting technique because, you know, you're purging out terpenes as well while you're doing that. But I'm not saying it wasn't good. It was really, really good, and it was really clear, some of the clearest rosin that I've ever had.

SpeakerBut it looked just like BHO with the Swiss cheese holes in it, in the shatter. It was kind of an interesting texture.

BubblemanMy God.

BubblemanYeah, the stuff I hit of John's the other day that he's holding up, it was explosive, dude. It was literally like... Yeah, just...

SpeakerYeah, well, I messaged you and I'm like, hey, is your rosin exploding? Because I can't deal with this. It's tearing up my lungs. I have no tolerance for it. Because I threw mine in the back oven because I can't do that explosive moisture. It hit me in the eyes, hot grease, and luckily I have eyelashes that block it. Well, you told that story the day before.

BubblemanI saw it, and then I saw it go on, and it was beautiful looking, don't get me wrong, but it looked like it had, it was just so fresh, you know. And I was like, Horatio was just talking about how you could lose an eye, and I said, I'm putting on my shades now. John's saying it wasn't that bad. I will clearly state this. It was the most explosive dab of anything I've ever seen hit a nail.

BubblemanIt blew up in eight different directions three different times. So it tasted great. I will give you that, Johnny B. But it exploded, and I'm glad I had my Method 7 shades on. Maybe I can design a new shade, rosin shades.

SpeakerNow you know why I was so angry. I'm like, is everybody's rosin doing this? Fuck this.

BubblemanI remember you asking me, and I said, do you remember what I said, Horatio?

SpeakerYou're like, oh, mine melts just fine.

BubblemanI said, I haven't really seen that. And then literally within 14 hours, I was sitting with John, and he pulled out this rosin and was like, here, dude, you got to smoke this. I was like, all right, I'll smoke it. I did find it a little bit hot in the sense that, like you said, when you steam the water really hot like that, it would be great if you could extract that water, you know, like you said, John, throwing it in the freezer and letting the water push out and just breaking it off as ice chunks or whatever, because I guarantee it'll get smoother.

BubblemanWe all know that when we hit water in anything, that it has a presence in the rip, that it can affect your lungs, right?

SpeakerOnce you've got oil, it is not friends with the freezer. When you get it back out, it'll instantly all turn to butter and potentially explode even more so. You don't have to have a back oven or a food dehydrator, but yeah, you're going to lose turps if you insert water and then want to remove it. Right. Well, I'm just using the freezer method between parchment, and you can see the water little droplets on each side of the parchment in the first couple of times just going in and out of the freezer.

SpeakerAnd you know what? It's the flavor, and it's quick, and it's easy, and it's tasty. You know, that's funny that you say you got the parchment method, and you're squeezing out the water like that, because... I actually used to do that making butane back in the day. I'd just pour water on the butane and oil. I'm not recommending this for anybody, but just pour water on the butane and oil and then scrape the oil off the top, put it into a parchment paper and squeeze it, and the water would squeeze out to the sides and I'd just hang it to dry.

SpeakerThat was before vacuum ovens were really around or anything that people even thought about using. But yeah, that's funny stuff, man. Don't burn your eye out. Well, here, we're going to do a fresh frozen dab. We'll see how bubbly it gets. I might have glasses on. I hear sizzle.

BubblemanIt's like Johnny at High School showing his friend how you can microwave butt and get it ready to smoke right away. And being super excited about it because you're gung-ho and I love that about you and it's fun. I had a rip in it. Super tasty. That reminded me of Bubble Hash in 1999.

SpeakerYeah, you know, that reminds me of Rossio 2 oil. I definitely take a few dabs of Rossio 2 oil and I've burnt myself where it pops out and comes onto my hand and I get a little burn from it from the water content. But, you know, the Terps, it's worth it sometimes. I hear Jotty B for sure. For the taste. It's not a nutraceutical if people are going to go blind on their first dab.

SpeakerYeah.

BubblemanNo, that's not nutraceutical by any means. That's just, you know.

SpeakerIt's because I can, and it's so tasty, and it was like, wow. I was just being lazy, and I probably heard it through somewhere, and I was just like, I've got to do this someday, and I didn't. And then now I'm just taking the different microns and so I'm taking like the 160 with the 73 or I've played around and got different colors and even different hits from it so it's really fun now I can really start dialing in certain things, mixing strings, I got some behind me and pressing it together and having fun.

BubblemanWell, I'll tell you, after filming the Rosen video with Darren for two hours and then going back and editing the video and realizing the whole video was just this, like the audio, I couldn't even listen to it. Oh my God. I was like, oh my God. Oh, fuck. The OCD in me was like, all right, I'm going to make this like two and a half hour video like 40 minutes.

SpeakerAnd how much fucking hash did I waste? Who cares, dude? That was fun as fuck. Didn't we have fun? We thought it was, yeah. Just ripped, dude. But jeez, just that... Fucking... I was getting a little pissed off. I was getting a little pissed off. It's like the chainsaw kept on coming on one of the videos and stuff like that. I know exactly. Yeah. Chainsaw, come on.

BubblemanThe other day I had an industrial, forget about a chainsaw, this thing was an industrial chipper. Yeah, that's when I showed up. They pulled it up in front of my house the other day. Yeah, that thing was incredible. Holy smokes.

SpeakerThat's the next one. We sat down, we were talking before the video, going, you know, we could squeeze an ounce out in probably 40 minutes. We'll just sit down and squeeze out some hash. You're making me cry. Sat down. Please don't ask for four or six hours or so. We spent a long time. I had a sore shoulder from pressing and squeezing and shit. I was actually a little fatigued from it the next day.

BubblemanOh, fuck. That's pretty funny. You know, the next time we have this video, we'll have to basically just do one press with a big special custom A bubble bag screen that will fill up with like, you know, like an ounce of hash. Flatten it out, pre-press it, get it all ready, and we'll just do one press in this crazy new design that has a big sort of like, like a little trough that the rosin can go into and stream out.

BubblemanI'd love to do like half ounce and quarter, or, you know, half ounce and more presses in one shot. Just, pshh, eight seconds, pshh, pshh.

SpeakerThat'd be like, that's hash fucking porn at its best.

BubblemanIt'll be a funny video where you and I set up and we're like, hey, Dick422 and I are going to do our video again. This time we're going to do Pounce. And this time instead of eating the hairspray, we're going to... You've got to keep muting your camera there, Johnny B. Otherwise I do a weird watery thing. I don't know if people hear it like that.

SpeakerYeah, just doing it... What's that, Dick? Mute your goddamn mic, Johnny. I'll do it. How many times we got to tell you, man?

SpeakerOh, Mark, I love you, Johnny. I'm just playing. You know it.

SpeakerKinda.

BubblemanHash porn. Hash porn.

SpeakerThat would be some serious hash porn on that big press. That's the thing I'm waiting for before I spend any money on any t-shirt presses or anything like that. I'm waiting for the unit that comes out. Or maybe I should just try to fucking make one and then put it out myself.

BubblemanYeah, there you go. Do it. There's a short list right now of about four people that I've talked to that have them designed. Two of those four are pretty serious and they're not just taking t-shirt presses and redesigning them with simplicity. And then I suspect there'll be people out there that are, you know, there's people like Steve who is, you know, looking at different types of things.

BubblemanI don't know exactly, but I've been told they could be potentially the kind of machine that presses oil out of seeds, you know, in agriculture, in farmland. So canola oil, flax seed oil, all the different seed oil presses, maybe even hemp seed oil press, I don't know exactly what it looks like, but they have different ways of Grinding those seeds and extrapolating the oil out of it without causing too much warmth without, you know, going too hot, I'm pretty sure they're able to control their heat, which a rosin machine, the importance of that I think would be obvious to most.

SpeakerHow about the cold, no heat added whatsoever, but because of the tonnage pressure, it brings heat to it. Yeah. So the cold press on it, I wonder what that would work like without applying...

BubblemanThat was one of the earliest things that people, because heat is only necessary without pressure. Pressure produces heat, so if you don't have the ability to warm the plates with a small electrical plug or whatever, you could just use tonnage of pressure to create that heat.

SpeakerWhat would be the tonnage ratio to the heat to the pressure?

BubblemanWell, that's what everyone's doing. Everyone's doing their work now. Basically, if you were trying to design a machine, you would start going through. And I've talked to a few guys. Some guys are up in the 20 tons, and other guys are down in the 2 to 4 tons. So it depends on, I guess, what kind of machine they're building. But there's people doing it, and I'm stoked that they are doing it, and I urge anyone that wants to make a rosin machine to definitely bust one out.

SpeakerFuck yeah, make one and make a million dollars with it. Fuck yeah. I've seen a bunch of them out there. You know, there's people selling them for $1,200 for a rosin press right now that's, you know, just a bit fancier than a modified t-shirt press. But I think there's a lot of people putting some really good thought into it. I'm actually teaching a class on Saturday. It's going to be a rosin tech class.

SpeakerAnd after I announced the class, a bunch of people contacted me saying, hey, can I bring down my press that I've built and show it to the people? You know, a lot of people, they've got this idea that they're going to go out there and popularize one design press, and I think we're going to actually end up with, you know, Thank you for watching.

SpeakerAnd utilize that because, you know, people have been pressing oil from seed for a long time, cold pressing like you're talking about there and, you know, where it's really just the pressure is all that the heat is that's put onto it. You know, it's heat caused by pressure. So there's going to be a lot of great advances, but... Anybody who wants to come check out my Rosin Tech class, it's in Tacoma, Cannabis Patient Exchange on Saturday.

SpeakerI'll have a little thing on my Instagram feed. You can check it out.

BubblemanOh yeah, awesome, Jeff. Thanks for sharing. Go check out Rosin. Teaching some rosin check tech. It's been fun to watch rosin grow. You know, it reminds me of the guy who discovered or shared the method of butane back in the day on Eroid, which was Indra. And I ended up meeting him, not in real life, but through the computer and talking to him over some years. And he had told me about a method that he was able to do, which was...

BubblemanYes, you can at Vancouver Seed Bank, which was a cryogenic method, which was a method that he claimed was the only way to acquire what he called super terpenes. And this cryogenic method was able to extract at 100% ratio, which was unheard of. And it was able to extract without leaving a footprint, which was also fairly unheard of in like almost really all the scientific processes. There was some footprint that could usually be found.

BubblemanAnd so I wasn't able to ever test his resin, but I did send him hemp seed years ago and he defatted the oil using his cryogenic technique. Welcome, Todd. And he basically blew my mind with what he produced, a golden oil, which was gold because cold pressing, which is really a misnomer, still uses temperatures in excess of 100 plus degrees, and it greens the chlorophyll, gets sucked into the oil from that heat, and it greens the oil.

BubblemanWhich is why most hemp seed oil is green. The hemp seed oil that you have seen that is gold is generally run through a carbon filter. He wasn't doing that. What he was doing was he was using such cold temperatures to de-fat the de-hauled hemp seed is that he was left with a very pure golden hemp seed product and then the de-fatted hemp seed hull, the protein husks, were basically pure protein powder isolate and when I had it tested in three separate labs, It was 12% higher than the company that sold the highest protein isolate on the market, which was 50%, and his was 61% to 62% protein powder isolate.

BubblemanAnd he did that with this cryogenic process that he came up with some years ago, and he's got patented and he's never shared the process with. He's an interesting fellow. It'll be interesting to see if he resurfaces, if someone that knows him sees me talking about him on HashChurch. I'd love to have you on, Indra, if you want to come on one day and talk about your cryogenic process.

BubblemanBecause from what he told me, if that process is true and real, wow, it'll really like in a heartbeat, it could be able to change the game once again. Like change everyone from this hot air extraction. Right over to a cold, extremely cold cryogenic extraction process that he claimed he would be able to show people how to make a small little machine for a few hundred bucks to do it yourself.

BubblemanSeems impossible, but look at rosin. Who would have thought that someone could say to you, I can squeeze the resin out of your buds, you know? Several years ago, if you said that to someone, they would have looked at you like, are you kidding me? How you doing, Todd? How was Secret Cup?

SpeakerIt was great. I had so much fun. Look what I got, the whole fucking kit. I got two kits, actually, ATN should come visit. And then I got all this that I get to photograph because all the judges kicked me down extra samples so I could make crazy photos of all their shit. Nice. Well, hello to Lauren as well.

BubblemanLauren Lacey. Oh, and the dog. I don't know who the dog is, but hello to the dog as well.

SpeakerThe dog, yes. We got three, so don't worry. They all look alike. Dude, it was awesome. It was such a great experience. They had 40 entries show up five hours north of San Francisco for a Campo contest. I mean, they're really killing it with the culture. They've connected so well to the cash community that the community follows them around practically everywhere. Literally, five hours north of San Francisco is as far as me driving to L.A. from San Francisco.

SpeakerJeez. Yes. It's a 10-hour drive from L.A. Think of that. That's like... Yeah. If you come home the way we come home, it can take $13.

BubblemanWell, you have dabs. I've been in your car before. You're puff and tough.

SpeakerIt's a secret.

BubblemanNo, I mean while you're a passenger.

SpeakerOf course. No, it's funny. We actually took a really beautiful ride down through Humboldt County all the way over the edge. They don't actually have like a Route 1, but they have this dirt road that goes along the ocean that is epic. Highly recommended if you have six hours to kill on your way home.

BubblemanI tried to go on one of your Periscope Hangouts, and it was like introducing Daniel, and it was like, boom, it was over before it started. I was like, damn, dude, you got to do like a... I find these Periscope Hangouts are good at like 30 to 45 minutes.

SpeakerAh, you know, we were doing it on a rock while we were getting high.

BubblemanNo excuses. My camera lady kind of decided, eh. I was Periscoping on a Ducati last week during Hash Church. Oh, you did do that. I didn't get to see it because I was talking to Dr. Grinspoon. That's right. So I got a message from Dr. Grinspoon and he said that he thanked us for having him on and he said he would love to come on again. So I think it would just be a cool thing to plan, get a real nice show organized a week in advance and make sure we go through some technical... Well, can I just lay this out?

SpeakerEvery time he calls me on Skype, we go through the same thing. I can't hear you, Todd. Lester, toggle the Bluetooth. He's like, what? I can't hear you, Todd. I swear to God.

BubblemanDude, I'm telling you, we will send a Geek Squad dude, one of our ambassadors who are on the East Coast, right to his house, bring a computer and set it all up for him.

SpeakerWell, honestly, dude, he's got the PIM computer. He's been using speech dictation since like the 90s, you know, so it's just that he's just, it's the Bluetooth. If we got him a wired headset, he'd be fine, but he likes the wireless, so it's what it is.

BubblemanWell, nonetheless, I got in touch with him, and it was good to hear that he was happy to come back on Hash Church, so that's going to happen for sure.

SpeakerYeah, everybody loved it. The response was awesome.

BubblemanAnd I'd love to have Kay on when I do the water extraction history panel with inviting, I'm putting the invite out to Reinhardt, Skunkman, Rob Clark, Neville, Kay, Mila.

TonyWhen do you want to have Rob on? When do you want to do it?

BubblemanWell, I mean, everyone has to get in touch and be in touch and say that they're willing to do it before we can, you know, I can't just announce it's going to happen because seven days goes by like that and all of a sudden I don't deliver and I don't like that.

SpeakerNo, that sort of sucks. So, all right, then, I think that's a great idea. I can have Kenny here at the house, so.

BubblemanYeah, exactly. You're welcome to bring like any water hash, well-known water hash makers as well. It'd be great to hear from them. And then I love the idea of Neville talking about the original story of telling Sadu Sam and then Sadu Sam putting the ad in 88 high times and then, you know, Reinhardt coming along in 97. Not to be weird though, why does, why, shouldn't the patent really be

SpeakerLike Neville, I mean, Neville's name's on the fax that I got from Kenny. It's not Reinhart who came along years later. I mean, honestly, not to be rude. Shouldn't Gravity be the one giving the patent?

BubblemanWell, I mean, Todd, you give the patent to the person that does the work, you know? I mean, isn't that how it happened with the light bulb? Like, was it Thomas Edison or was it... No, no, no, no, no, no.

SpeakerThe patent, there's an inventor of a patent, but there's also something called the assignee. The assignee is the owner of the patent. The assignee is who pays for the attorneys and who gets the patent basically allowed and ultimately issued. That's who owns the rights to the patent. And typically, like an employee... Like on your first day of employment, you'll sign an agreement saying as a condition of your employment, you get a paycheck and we own any patent that you That you come up with.

SpeakerSo while you might be the inventor, the company that pays you your salary is basically the assignee. Yeah. And I want to say this too. I mean, if really Kenny had been sharp, he should have patented it in 1994 when he was the one that figured out that you'd use more than a blender, that you needed ice and cold water and the whole new world. But she's the one that explained it to me.

SpeakerMila never had this in a dream. It was Kenny explaining it to her during a High Times interview when Annie Rieken was with her at the Berkeley Garden. This wasn't a dream. It was Kenny literally explaining the tech, water tech, to Mila in an interview that he was doing with Annie. That's where the dream happened in Berkeley. So, Todd, if that indeed is the case… It is indeed the case.

SpeakerOkay, okay, and there's an item of public record that would reflect that. That basically can be used to invalidate the patent, which means the patent is worthless.

BubblemanExactly. However, let me talk about this a little bit because I spent eight years in court with the guy and I put all these feelers out to my community and how my community thinks now that they can say that information like this exists, I'll tell you, Mark, after combing for it for eight years. It does not. It's woulda, shoulda, coulda, told you so stories. There's no real publicly published, there's no way to invalidate it.

BubblemanI spent eight years trying. Even with Sadu Sam's water extraction, all of this stuff, here's the bottom line.

SpeakerKenny's first is in the reprint of Hashish 1998. That's when him and Mel Frank put all the information Kenny put together and it was first.

BubblemanThat was 1997, Todd.

SpeakerI know that, but it was printed in 98. It doesn't mean it was written in 98. He was working on that well before Reinhardt actually went and did the pack.

BubblemanListen, well, I'm telling you from someone that spent eight years in the... And here's another interesting thing. Mila never invented the bags based on a dream or anything Kenny told her. Mark Rose and Eldon invented the bags, sitting on the couch, staring at Reinhardt's machine... Nothing Neville did, nothing Skunk Man Sam did. It was Reinhardt's machine 100% that inspired the bags. And I wish Mark Rose was in here because he could tell the story of sitting on the couch with Eldon and Eldon saying, hey, two five-gallon bag-sized screen, different screens in a five-gallon bucket and you've got the same thing.

BubblemanPointing to the isolator.

SpeakerPointing to the isolator, right?

BubblemanMark, mention of the first bags. This was 1998, a year after Reinhardt showed the machine in November. So there was only another month left in the year, and then 98 happened, and the isolator bag started within months of being shown that machine. Because Mark Rose manufactured those bags. He came up with the name Isolator. Elden came up with the concept of the bags. And that was it.

BubblemanMila sold them as the hash queen, as the well-known established persona in Amsterdam. To bring it to market, but that story is the story I really want. I want her to be in here and discuss her story. I want Kay to be in here and discuss his story. I want Reinhardt to be in here because the bottom line is this, Todd. Reinhardt showed up in 97 with that machine, and that's when everything blew up.

BubblemanNothing before that really, they were all important parts of the history, but if you really want to look back and see what made These, you know, this guy was working on this thing just on his own, tinkering around, making this crazy machine, and he patented it. And the minute he showed it to someone, they jacked it and created a bag. And then I came along and copied those bags.

BubblemanSo for me, I am very happy that I have leased that patent. I'm no longer fighting it in court. I'm part of a small group of people that have actually paid for the leasing of that intellectual property. And I just feel better about it now after knowing the true history and being a part of it. I know a lot of people are against Reinhardt for patenting this and they say that other people should have patented it and I don't.

BubblemanTry to deny any of that, I'm just saying that he's the person who patented it.

SpeakerNo, and I know that, and it's just that, you know, in my little perspective, I know Kenny for a long time, and I know he got the fax in 94, I know he was tweaking, I know his history, I know how he works, I know how long it takes for information to get out, and I know how he talks too much to people. I mean, he's done it over and over, and, you know, people emulate it, come back up and say, hey, I had an idea.

SpeakerThey listened to them on a panel and went, oh, yeah, now I got an idea.

BubblemanWell, you know what, Todd? That's what Hash Church is all about. Hash Church is all about that very thing. And it's interesting because I've spoken with a few people who said, well, I can't just come on Hash Church and give away all my great ideas. And I'm like, well, no problem. I'm just trying to explain to people that when you share, you get just as much in return.

BubblemanAnd I learned that from bands like the Grateful Dead and from Phish who give away all their music yet still have album sales and still sell them.

SpeakerThey only allowed us to tape their free shows that they didn't actually have a contract with anyone. They sold all their real music from the studio. Warner Brothers, all those guys owned it. But they let us come and tape like DMV did, Phish did, Grateful Dead did. That is not the same though. And this is where I think we're in a different scene now. People hated it.

SpeakerBut people think now they should get all the music for free. There shouldn't be, you know, any royalties to the band because people can just go steal the music. And that kind of sucks. I mean, for musicians, it's a tough world right now. I mean, people are...

BubblemanGuess what? The bottom line is musicians might not deserve the millions of dollars that were funneled to them back in the day. Maybe they only need a few million instead of a hundred million. I don't know how it works. I just know this. If you're a great musician... And you make music and you go and tour, you'll be fine. And that's, you know, bands like Fish that give away all their music.

BubblemanHow do they become like the number one touring band in America and sell out all their concerts and sell out a venue like Coachella? More people come to a single concert, Fish concert at Coachella than all the Coachella people combined go to see all those other bands at that one venue.

SpeakerListen, dude, I was fortunate enough to meet the drummer of Metallica a couple months back when we were talking about this, and he's been so vocal about it, and I said, do you now feel like your music is simply an advertisement to get people to come listen to you play live? And he looked at me and was like, God, I didn't even think of it like that, but yes, you're right.

BubblemanWell, that's one of the biggest bands in the world. Those guys have played to like 500,000 people in fucking Russia and shit.

SpeakerYeah, Metallica's huge. And you know, the thing is, though, is like, you know, I have to say that, you know, I think people that create stuff do have a right to their creation. I mean, you write a book, you know, you write a song, it shouldn't be someone comes along and steals it and makes billions of dollars, you know, I mean, that's kind of funny. People have to steal it and make money, for sure.

SpeakerNo, look at the little song with, what's his name, the, you know, there's so many, but yeah, you know.

SpeakerOh, that was a good rip I just took. Kind of grabbed me by the nuts, really. I would help you get everyone on. I would love to see the story told. I mean, it'd be great if we could get Dave to really come on.

BubblemanI've asked, and he said off camera he would potentially come on and tell his part of the story.

SpeakerThat would be awesome.

BubblemanAll I really want is everyone to tell their part of the story without... Any attacks on everyone else? Because they're going to be conflicting stories. I've heard conflicting stories, but I'm willing to give those people a voice so people can listen and then they can go on the internet and they can go back and check through all the history that still exists and see who said what and who was, you know, you should be able to research what people are saying and come to a conclusion of whether or not you believe they're actually telling you the truth or if they're completely talking shit.

SpeakerWord. Yeah, I agree with you. And you're creating a different forum. People that think you're coming on and, you know, they're going to be Tesla, you know, giving up patents, don't get the concept of hash charge. I mean, sharing information and giving up proprietary information really has nothing to do with one another. Right. Sure enough. I think a lot of why I sat down and started talking with you is because we were trying to get out the information about cannabis and hashish, which we've been doing since we met.

SpeakerAnd in all honesty... This is a forum we never had before, so being able to have free conversation and talk about things that people witness, I think this is really honestly great. So much innovation will come out of this across the world.

BubblemanYeah, absolutely. Well, we're getting a good 10,000 people checking it out in the first week of Hash Church after it goes live. After the first week, we get about 10,000 people, so superly appreciate all you guys watching and checking it out and being a part of Hash Church. It's what it's all about.

SpeakerYou know, Mark, I can't believe how these concentrates are taking the hash scene by storm. It's amazing. Yeah, there's so many people doing it. Unbelievable. But you know what? On the other side of it, too, is this is some of the best cannabis medicine I've ever seen in my life. It's some of the cleanest, Like honestly most effective I've ever experienced in my life. Really?

BubblemanHoly shit. Well, when the growing techniques are tweaked and... God, I wish y'all could smell that. Master, that looks like some live resin, that color, or some CO2.

SpeakerI'm not honestly sure what everything is. This is definitely not CO2 because of scent. There's no CO2 in this bag. It would be hard to run it in this group. You know what I mean? You'd have to run something that's really high-end to compete with these guys. They actually even turn away samples if they don't think they're competition-worthy, we could say. Ah, yes. Yeah, they're very particular.

SpeakerAnd they still have 49 show up with mine.

Etienne FontanOf the 40 that made the final cut, Todd, how many do you think originally submitted?

SpeakerAll 41 submitted, 40 were allowed to enter. Only one got cut out of the camp out this year. I saw it. It wasn't worthy. And the reason is because, I mean, people are coming through with real fire, you know, stuff that looks like gold. And, you know, somebody throws in some shitty trim run that they don't care about just so they can get, you know... This is what happens.

SpeakerThis is a unique situation, Mark, in a way, because what goes down at the secret cup is this is the judge's pack, everybody. So these 40 samples are what we will all get smoked. I am not a judge because I did not enter. So only the people who entered are the judges. So there's no outside influence, there's no crony friendships, there's none of it. Everybody gets on and tries to really honestly probably vote for their own shit.

SpeakerBut that's not what happens. You end up voting for the best stuff because a lot of times... Thank you for watching.

SpeakerWell, I had a good friend of mine who I trust to judge me greatly. Two or three contests ago, tell me, I'm this number. Then he calls me back, no, no, I'm this number. Then he calls me back, no, no, no, I'm really this number. I'm this number. I was like, oh, okay. That's hilarious. Are you sure now? No? Are you sure now? No? Okay, now? No.

SpeakerOkay.

BubblemanIt sure looked like a beautiful event outside in the forest there. That looked real nice.

SpeakerMark, you would love it. You know, they're bringing culture, man. They've got their tables out, their dabs out, their emails out. They're all friendly. They're all getting each other high. It's about networking. It's freaking hash utopia is what it is. I mean, people are great. They take five grams of each entry, and they have an open dab bar. So for the entire event, there's an open dab bar.

SpeakerEveryone can just walk up at will, get a dab of whatever number you want, unless we already ran out of it.

SpeakerYou know, it's so all the things High Times didn't do, if you get me. Like, everyone walks away feels like it was a clean contest because it wasn't a friend of a friend or the guy with the highest marketing budget. They were all voted on by the same piece, you know what I'm saying? And it's just so clean. I don't know. It's just something about it that's just so real and nice and it's just, I love the secret code.

SpeakerI think the guys are killing it that are bringing it together at Duke.

BubblemanWell, I sure enjoyed the only one I've ever been to, of course, last March in Barcelona at the Hampton.

SpeakerOh, shit, dude. Dude, there was people pressing live rosin there. Bring your own butt. BYOB. I'm not even kidding you, Mark. I took some photos for you, but it didn't really help.

BubblemanI suspect it would become a very popular thing. I mean, you know what? It's kind of like at the Cannabis Cup back in the day. I'll never forget the first cup. I just started like... I just started literally bringing like a hundred grams of hash and giving bong rips out. And I'll tell you, the year I started doing that, there were only a few people offering bongs, kind of Adam was doing the trichome challenge and there were, you know, you could have a three-peat on this vaporizer, but we were just giving out full like Full Melt Rips of Bubble Hash.

BubblemanMan, in those days was the booth.

SpeakerIt was all we had was our drive seat. That was our high test, remember? Look at this. This was a sign mark at one of the booths.

BubblemanBYOB, bring your own buds. They were charging five bucks to press it? Dude, you should see the equipment they had.

SpeakerThey had these really cool presses that were huge. Yeah, they were killing it, dude. I loved it. And people were doing it. People were having fun. Wow, you just do it for free. Well, yeah, you know, it's innovative, though, to see people show up with the equipment and be like, give me a pot, you know, and here you go. So people were doing lots of rosin dabs.

SpeakerIt was awesome. Well, that's hilarious and good to hear. Nobody entered it, though, because, you know, frankly, it's going to be hard to get rosin to compete against stuff that looks like this, that's been, you know, this is a different level of, holy shit. That's the way I can put it.

SpeakerThere's so many to look through, I don't even know where to begin. I am going to do photos of these all day though, so anybody watching, I'm going to be posting them at hemp.xxx.

BubblemanJust turn your periscope on and periscope your entire photo shoot.

SpeakerAh, that's funny.

BubblemanDude, I'm down with the long periscopes. I think that's, it's like a good spot to have reasonings.

SpeakerDude, this stuff is straight candy. I got to tell you, every single one of them, it's just candy after candy. That looks like pretty good candy. Dude, and then look at this, Mark. Where did it go? Oh, man, I got these cool new things.

SpeakerShow me. I'm working on it. Look, look, look. My friend made me pure white silicone dab mats or hash mats, whatever you want to call them. And that's a big fucking sheet you have in there? Big slap? Technically it is, yes. Don't hate. I'm not hating. Oh, it cracked, damn it. Don't hate. Yeah, you see the cracks in it now after I did it? But look how it looks on it, dude.

SpeakerThis is all white. So you don't have that nasty, it's like, no, dude. But it's like, you don't have that, what do you call it? The, uh... The pattern of fiberglass going through anymore. They just covered it. No, it's not there. It's just pure. If you look at it from the other side, I've got to clean this one up too. It's pure white. Okay. Could you try to alcohol that, see if it comes out?

SpeakerWe're going to see how well they hold up though. I'm going to do all the photographs with them.

BubblemanExcellent. Well, very good. It's always good to see a new product, if it's a great product.

SpeakerWell, I was at Champs, you know, and Jeremy and I were talking and stuff, not at Champs, but he was like, what would, you know, we started talking about how I wish there was a white silicone mat, and he had it made for me. He's one of the producers of The Secret Cup. His name's Jeremy. I think I met him in Spain, didn't I? Yes, we spent that night with him.

SpeakerThat's absolutely right. Yep, that was such a good night. That was the coolest social club in Barcelona that night. I'll tell ya. Yeah, that was the shit, dude. We're gonna have to do it again, and again, and again. So next Spanibus, that's gonna be our headquarters. And I told Ben we wanna do buses going from Spanibus to the museum, like, round trip, just cruising back and forth so people can get on the bus, go over, come back.

SpeakerI'll see you about getting us better internet for next time. There has to be a way. Hey, can you carry around satellite internet?

BubblemanUm, yeah, I have satellite internet that I, uh, Sirius that I have around.

SpeakerWe need, we need a whole hash church, like, we need, like, this suitcase that opens up and, like, an antenna goes up and we have fucking internet and we got the computer and everything set up.

BubblemanYou're telling me that? Holy shit. I wouldn't have to travel with 18 bags.

SpeakerYeah, that's what I was thinking.

SpeakerWe'll have to work on that, Mr. Bond.

SpeakerThis is going to be a fun day. I'm going to be high as fuck. So ATN is going to be actually getting one of these kits and he's going to be doing all of the... Well, ATN, what the hell are you going to do? You tell them.

Etienne FontanI do descriptors. They ask to do what it's like to actually receive the packet and Go through each one. So for the last one, I literally took it from literally picking it out of the box, opening it up. I have an actual Pantone sheet with actual names to the colors. So there's actual names to the proper color of the actual hashish so that you get the real color.

Etienne FontanAnd I'll also have the Pantone number so it's completely replicable. And then actually describe the hash, actually Putting the dabber into the hash, how does it pull, etc., etc., put to where I actually put it on the dabber, taking the dab, and I do it with a team of people, so I actually, different people take the hit, so we can actually all give descriptors of the flavor, the hit, the onset, the nasal, and I write a full paragraph, descriptive paragraph, of each hash just based on What we, what's before us.

SpeakerWe're going to be putting this into two books. We're going to be doing the Secret Cup Bay Area and then the Secret Cup Campo with all my high-resolution layered photography of the samples and ATN's descriptions and all of the actual lab results of the samples that gives it a cannabinoid content and the terpene content. So you'll just be able to see photo description test, photo description test the whole way through.

SpeakerThere was 42 samples in the Bay Area samples. Secret Cup Bay Area, and there's 40 in this one. Kind of crazy. That's awesome, man. That would be a pretty fun event. You know, Mark, you should be kind of like honestly knocking it off, so to speak, but this is really like, you know, this would be really cool for like to do a Rossin event, you know what I mean?

SpeakerBecause this is kind of a BHO event all day, you know what I'm saying? Yeah. Yep. But why the heck not? You know, it's not like Rosin's not present. It's just that it's not really going to compete as well against this stuff. But why the fuck not make one that is just, you know, dry season, best in Canada? That'd be a conflating competition, bro. Canada's been bringing fire forever.

BubblemanYeah. Do something here. It's hard to... It's hard to keep the bar high for something like that and like everyone and their dog wants to do that and be a part of it but it's like to try and do that and set the bar high wouldn't be cheap that's for sure.

SpeakerWell, you know what, I want to see this. These guys aren't making, you know, they're not getting rich making these events. And, you know, they're basically designing them to break even because they're not, you know, Dan and Jeremy are literally not walking away with money. They're trying to put all of it back into the event so that the people that come and participate have a good time.

SpeakerYou know, they cover their travel, their hotels, their incidentals, but that's really it. I mean, they have a couple people working for them. They get paid, but Jeremy and Dan are really doing it because they love doing it. They love the community. They love, you know, the whole thing of it. I mean, and you can see it when you go there. They got food. They got drinks.

SpeakerThey're catering to us instead of sucking off us. Like, Do you know what I mean? Like, I love what High Times did for us, but when you get there, it was a cachectomy. Everything you wanted was more and more and more, and you get there and it's a different deal. Unless you were in this inner circle like we were, it was really... You know, and I'm glad to see people innovating and kind of bringing the things that they wish they had saw at other contests to their own contests because now you're starting to see things like Secret Session be a really beautiful party and then the Secret Cup be a really killer event.

BubblemanYou know, and... Well, I mean, I'm definitely, I'm seriously throwing it around in my mind on the possibility of doing the Secret Sessions up here And the idea of doing a cup is great, a solventless cup, even greater, rosin, dry sift, foam melts. Even if it was just a rosin cup, it would be unique to see all the different people and what they brought to the table.

SpeakerWell, honestly, I was talking to Dougie. We were wishing you would come down and be a judge for Chalice. We would love to get you to come hang out over the border, dude. You are loved by many. And, you know, it was no awesomeness to walk around, dude, how many people say, man, I watch Hash Church all the time. And, you know, and it's so nice. People give me hugs and shit.

SpeakerAnd you got, there are a lot of people that really think, I think, what you do and what you've done, Mark, has been hugely important to us, you know, and Hash happening. I mean, no, no, Mila too, but, you know, you brought bags to us and the simplicity to us, and Hash went, boom. And people know it, and people like it, and, you know. I wish you'd come down too.

SpeakerIt's going to be a killer party.

BubblemanIt does look like it's going to be amazing. I'd love to make it down there. I can't wait until all this bullshit is done. I mean, you saw how we just won our extracts here in Canada. We were talking about that a little bit. Federal law, boom, seven judges, seven to zero, all unanimous.

SpeakerCan you talk about that? What does that cover now as far as extracts go?

BubblemanAll derivatives of cannabis, anything cannabis we're allowed to have.

BubblemanOh, yeah.

SpeakerNext dumb question is, are you guys allowed to manufacture, like, for instance, the guy that owns Secret Cup, he owns Top Shelf Extracts, and he literally has been manufacturing, you know, clean, Colorado-regulated extracts like this for five years. And are you going to be able to do that in Canada now with the new legislation or with the new... Clarification.

BubblemanWe're allowed to as patients. People in the MMAR and people in the MMPR are going to be allowed to. The licensed producers are certainly not legally, federally allowed to sell it. The dispensaries are not legally, federally allowed to sell it. So it's this one, again, unanswered question of how are they going to acquire it. Well, we've won the rights. To use it, so within that right, we absolutely have the right to make it.

BubblemanSo, you know, me and John and D420K and maybe Horatio, I'm not sure if he has an MMAR, but all of our MMAR people, we are able to legally, federally make hash, have hash, and transport our hash over provincial lines from east to west coast. So it's a start. It doesn't mean it's available now to anyone who wants it. You still got to get that license to acquire cannabis and then you got to buy cannabis if you follow the federal legal rules.

BubblemanOr if you're caught up in the MMAR like myself and John, we've got licenses. We're able to grow. We're caught up in this lawsuit with this injunction with the grand courts. And it's just a matter of waiting until that court case follows all the way through and hopefully we win the right to continue to grow cannabis for ourselves and be able to make all the derivatives, do all the extracts.

SpeakerBecause my suggestion was, Mark, would be really rad is if you had what Dan has in Colorado is all the equipment. So you show up and he runs your buzzard trim. And, you know, you have whatever agreed upon amount the way it's put up afterwards. That could be the same with bubble bags. I mean, not just selling bubble bags, but literally have a place where people could come with their stuff and you run it for them.

SpeakerYou have a little, you know, people in the back using your bags and putting out the product and giving it back to them. And the way it works in Colorado is, in California most of the way, is they split it. So if you show up with a pound of buds or trim, whatever you get out of the oil out of it, Thank you for watching.

SpeakerYou know what I mean? It's a really safe thing. It's just with you running bubble baths, I mean, it's water. It's even safer.

BubblemanI suspect it'll happen on a level even beyond that. I'll probably get myself into a position of processing under contracts, have that bubble man brand being produced in dry sifts and rosins and full melts. And I've looked at that concept down in the U.S. for the last, you know, eight months to a year. Of course, that was part of the concept to come out of Jamaica. I was always going to be processing the material that we produced and were being brought.

BubblemanI was going to be at least one of the processors in that facility. So, I mean, yeah, absolutely. You know, the Bubble Man brand labs in different countries producing like a high quality and standard of extract is my dream. But it's got to be federal, and I don't want to break any laws in the meantime. I have to wait until I'm federally legal to do that. And I've already been contacted by a few licensed producers in Canada.

BubblemanThey don't even have licenses to produce extracts yet, but they're already contacting people who do process. So, I mean, I suspect Horatio and I will have a, Thank you for watching.

SpeakerI'm heading out after this bong rip, everybody. I'm taking my eight-year-old granddaughter out to buy a few dresses.

BubblemanOh, nice. Dress shopping with the granddaughter. Good on you, D420K.

SpeakerDon't forget to pick her up a mini motorcycle on your way. He's already got one.

SpeakerThere's not much these kids don't get, if I can help it.

Etienne FontanThat's what grandparents are for, right? To spoil them.

BubblemanNo, I never have sold before, Brad. It's never been available as a brand, so that's going to change in the near future. Peace, D. Peace, everybody. Have a good one, Brad.

SpeakerHope you're watching. Have a great day.

BubblemanBe very good. Chat's going off. People are like, let's do a secret cup in every big city.

Etienne FontanEasy now, don't have to do that much writing.

BubblemanOh yeah, look at that. Don't hate it.

BubblemanHow do I feel about the Oregon OMMP program? I don't know much about it. It sounds like it's better than the Washington program, though. Am I correct?

BubblemanAm I correct? Am I correct?

Etienne FontanIt's still a work in progress. And people are still working on it. There seems to be some backlash. I am not as well versed in it as some people, but yes, definitely Oregon is having its own issues with regulation as every state will as it comes online. So, you know, until it's equal across the board, each state is different. Same with the medical marijuana laws currently. No state is the same.

BubblemanYeah, well that's what I hear, you know, and it's hard to keep up with all of it, to be honest. There's so many different, I'm kind of hoping that, I mean, I guess it's impossible to really call out because it's the uniqueness of each state, but it would be nice to have just a really great, simple, federal law implemented so that states didn't even really need to have You know, like if it could get reclassified as an essential food source, and then all of a sudden it's just like you're selling broccoli at your place.

BubblemanIt's like you don't need any special license to dispense broccoli.

SpeakerCan we talk about that for a minute? Because Dr. McCurry has said for a long time that cannabis needs to be... Grandfather Dunn. It's never going to be legalized. We're never going to hold it to the same stringent categories. We hold new drugs, new compounds, any of that stuff. And the reality is that this is a tried, true, ancient medicine that hasn't shot or killed anybody in entire history.

SpeakerWhen do we start to trust it? And I think he's really right because the truth is that these compounds together are the magic, you know?

BubblemanYes, the synergy, absolutely, 100%. I was talking about synergy the other day and how whenever I go and see like, if you go and see Trey or Mike or any of those guys from Phish on their own, it's kind of good and it's, you know, it's good, but it's not like what you get when you go and see them all together as a band where these four band members create this sort of fifth entity that is a part of the crowd and a part of the experience and it's, you know, cannabis is, uh, Is very strong in that vibe.

SpeakerHey, did you, ATN, did you talk about how you were trying to clarify the use of entourage and ensemble? You didn't bring that up?

SpeakerUnmute your mic.

BubblemanWell, do you want to?

Etienne FontanI wrote to I wrote to Ethan Russo because I saw that Ethan Russo had a A speech coming up on Cannabis and the Entourage Effect. And so I wrote to him asking about ensemble. And he says that he's carrying on the terminology directly from Mishulam and from... Mishulam. So I wrote directly to Lester. So I wrote to Lester and asked Lester, what do you think? And Lester said, well, you know, honestly, we scientists realize that if a better terminology comes along, we use it as opposed to continue on something that doesn't necessarily work.

Etienne FontanSo then I wrote directly to Lester. Mishulam friended me via LinkedIn, or someone who is Mishulam friended me via LinkedIn. So I wrote to him via LinkedIn asking him directly, and I didn't get a response. So then I wrote to Lester saying, hey, Lester, I don't have Mishulam's direct email. I'm not sure if this person on the other end is actually him. Could you provide me with his email, or could you write Mishulam directly with my question so that we could get an answer?

Etienne FontanSo I figured, let's screw all the bullshit. We're all experts here. Let's go to the other experts in the world. I mean, I have their email, so let's go to them directly and ask them and clear this up direct. So, yeah, I just went directly to the source, and I think, Bubbleman, you were also cc'd on that.

SpeakerYou know, I would like to say, it is funny to me that he is just repeating a mistake. And that's something that we as a movement shouldn't do. Because, I mean, just being a parrot does not make us smart. And, I mean, to be a doctor and MD and to parrot a word that doesn't make sense. And when he told me this, it went back to Israel.

SpeakerMy first thought is, I bet you it's lost in translation. And, you know, because simply an English word used in a sense where it's wrong. I mean, because if he had looked it up and used it by definition, I don't believe he would have chosen the word entourage. You know, that's why Grinspoon chose ensemble, because per the definition, it categorically makes sense. And I think that what probably happened was a misnomer in translation somewhere, it got picked up, it didn't get checked or corrected, and now it's all over even CNN.

SpeakerHmm.

BubblemanI've always just used the synergistic properties, you know, like I've always seen a cannabinoid and terpene profile as producing synergies, creating something that would not otherwise be there with all of them fractioned and separated out and, you know what I'm saying, like that's how I've always looked at the profile to be a very synergistic effect.

Etienne FontanI agree, but I'm just trying to get clear nomenclature clarification across the board. Sure. Let's get it started at the high level, because if we can start with them starting to use that proper terminology, then it's only going to rain down the same as we do with the new terminology with the end of instativa. So I'm just seeking clarification for us all since we brought the question here, so let's get the answer from the experts.

BubblemanThat's awesome. I didn't see that email, though. You said I was CC'd on it. I must have missed that one.

Etienne FontanYeah, you were CC'd on it with Lester and Todd.

BubblemanOh, okay.

SpeakerDo you agree, Mark? On that post on Hash Church's Facebook page, there were, I think, five scientific articles, and one of them is, Entitled Taming the Entourage Effect is actually by Ethan Russo, I think in the British Journal of Pharmacology, I want to say from 2013. So if you go to the Facebook page for Hash Church, it's one of the five pages that are linked down below in the comments of that.

SpeakerAnd so yeah, so certainly Russo and others are the ones that have looked scientifically You know, the validity of the ensemble effect, if you will, to determine whether or not the single ingredients, the major components in cannabis are, whether or not you can tease out the activity just in the single components themselves. And I think that the evidence so far is overwhelmingly That no, there is an effect that all of the components in the cannabis extract has.

SpeakerAnd like I was saying before, and we discussed four weeks ago in Hash Church, the terpenes, just for example, just start doing all kinds of things to open up the cell for business and again creating more receptors for the cannabinoids, which again is going to attenuate the physiological response that they're going to have in your body. And so there's no question that if you're taking dabs of something that's terpene rich, those terpenes are affecting the onset of activity and the duration of activity and the intensity of activity of the cannabinoids that you're taking along in a dab.

SpeakerNow that said, I want to say what we said earlier, which is that at dabbing temperatures, it's incredibly high Thank you so much for joining us. Dr. Thank you for having me. Thank you for having me.

SpeakerAnd when you're dabbing again, you're pulling it into your head so you're close to where your brain is. Your brain is the central computer that runs your body, so of course you're going to feel that intensity and that high, but I think that there's something to the terpenes being in the product in terms of its onset of activity and how long that activity lasts and how intense it is, for sure.

SpeakerYou know, and I would like to point this out, you know, we're not, you know, trying to be anal. I mean, I'm supportive of everybody's work. It's just that Dr. Grinspoon, you know, has been looking for and uncovering truths For as long as I've known them, 40 decades of writing about cannabis and trying to get it right. And that's what our emphasis is, is that we're not picking on anybody or their use of mistaken words.

SpeakerIt's we're trying to get it right. Because my whole career in cannabis, you know, since I met Jack in 94, has been trying to get the message right and get it out to people. And I mean, you know, and for the sake of the conversation, you know, When you look up the word on dictionary.com, entourage simply means a group of attendants or associates as a person of rank or importance.

SpeakerA singer travels with an entourage of 20 people. That's their example. You look at ensemble, it says all the parts of a thing taken together so that each part is considered only in relation to the whole. So I understand why Lester Grinspoon is emphasizing we should say it right. And even if you look at synergy, the interaction of elements and what combined produces an effect that is greater than the sum of the individual elements, contributions, etc.

SpeakerSynergism. So synergy and ensemble, perfect sense when you're talking about cannabinoids and terpenes working together. Entourage is a TV show. I agree. I agree. Maybe, Todd, the thing about Entourage is it was viewed as THC being the primary leader, and everything else was just sort of the Entourage around THC being the leaders. Maybe that was the notion when it was originally adopted. But I think now, again, kind of like what you're saying, and I like I obviously like Mark's analogy to fish.

SpeakerCan I just say this makes the best sense ever because I've never heard it make sense because if you look at THC as the rock star, then all the terpenes and all the other cannabinoids, CBD and all that, that's THC's entourage. That makes sense, but not to be weird. THC isn't Bob Dylan and that isn't the Stones and the Beatles and all the little groupies behind them with their joints.

SpeakerI mean, this is a good conversation. I love the analogy to Phish because you would think that Trey, being the rock guitarist and they're a rock band, that he's kind of like the guy that it's all about. But I think in recent years, Mark, correct me if I'm wrong, it's been more about everyone having an equal voice in that band. And I think that's where the synergy comes from is that only when those four are together and it's only those four You get that synergy which is the greater than the sum of the four parts.

SpeakerAnd I think that that's what's happening with cannabis. The thing is, is I think what we should recognize is that, yeah, the entourage, what used to be called the entourage, could be more important than the rapper or the actor itself, right? It could be more important because it sort of defines what the entity is, what the group is. But yeah, I mean, I would absolutely agree 100% with what you're saying with Dr. Grinspoon saying it's ensemble because they're all interacting together.

SpeakerThere's no clearly one leader. And I think certainly there is a synergy. And that's the benefit of the ensemble. That's what you get when you... I'm going to go out there and call it the hash church effect. It's the Hash Church Effect. It's exactly what we do in that same relation, in that same potency, and anyone can pick any cannabinoid to put over their head, and it's just as critical in any given moment.

SpeakerSo, I mean, it's the Hash Church Effect if you want to get fussy.

BubblemanThat's hilarious, dude. I love it, the Hash Church Effect.

BubblemanHow could we get an after church show going? Geez, I don't know. Isn't the four hours of church, like, good enough, Brad? Brad just said, hash church keeps me from the evils of alcohol. And then his next sentence was, how can we get an after hash church show going? All right, well, I respect that. Start the old, uh, we'll start the, uh, The special... You know why, Mark?

SpeakerBecause I was thinking, you don't really share enough of your life with social media yet. You just need the little cam on your hat so that everything you do, people will be like, wow, man, I can sit home and live like... But you know, Mark, for what it's worth, you are probably the only person I watch you have a life and I think, that's If I were to switch out, Mark's life would be the one I switched out.

SpeakerFrom dirt bikes to boats to lovely wives to babies to bags to travel. And to your friendliness, of course. I love you a lot. I... Thanks. Yeah. I'll second that. Mostly the dirt bikes. Mostly the dirt bikes, though, honestly.

BubblemanMore dirt bike rides coming up soon.

SpeakerALM all day.

BubblemanRight? And boat rides. More periscoping from the boat today. We'll be periscoping from the boat today from the backside of Boyer Island. That is the northern tip of the island.

SpeakerSo what's the weather up there? You aren't always in a igloo?

BubblemanNo, it's really like nice, except I think if you're from California, you'd come up here and be like, this isn't nice. Are you crazy?

SpeakerYeah, I'm spoiled for sure. Why do you think I migrated 3,000 miles to get to the Golden Coast?

BubblemanI hear you.

SpeakerIt was for the hash. Now I know it was for the weed.

BubblemanThat's good. I came out here for the kind of same thing. You know, I moved west. Of course, I'm from Manitoba originally, the Midwest, so I had to come a couple of thousand kilometers, 2,400 kilometers. And the West Coast pulled me at a very young age when I first came out here with my grandmother and went to Vancouver Island and was like, yep, this is what I'm talking about, big trees.

BubblemanGood, good, Sean. I'm glad that cannabis is helping you calm the burning fire of the craziness in your mind. That's a good thing.

SpeakerI like that. Cannabis is awesome. I mean, where would we be without it? And, you know, this is why I like these community events so much coming together because, honestly, It's, you know, it shouldn't be illegal for us to have friends. We shouldn't have to, like, stay home and fucking not be allowed to socialize. We should have bars. We should have places we can go where we could fucking dab out and not drink alcohol.

SpeakerBecause when you're in a campground and there's 300 people that are all fucking gut rigs and they're dabbing out, and only 2% of them are drinking, you really realize that so few of us have an interest in the culture around alcohol. And we want a culture around hashish. We want it around cannabis. We want to be able to, this is how you and I made friends. It was what Bernard had at Positronics.

SpeakerWe were allowed to sit in the same room and talk about cannabis openly. How fucking nuts was that? That was nuts. It was nuts, dude.

BubblemanI still lived in Manitoba then, and they were like, and we were growing, and it was like they put you in prison for like 10 years of a shot in Manitoba for growing weed. I remember how nuts it was, and talking to Americans that were kind of like, they'd kind of be like, then tell you this crazy story. It's like, man, this is amazing.

SpeakerYou know, and it trips me up, too, because when I first became an activist, Canada was just coming off of High Times being illegal. Right. So let's go back, people. 25 years ago, quarter of a century, Canada couldn't read our magazines. Nope. Couldn't get Mark Everett to write magazines. Yeah, and now we're talking about legal concentrates, having a right to hemp, having a right to cannabis.

BubblemanFederally legal concentrates, we really should add that word because when people just hear legal concentrates, whatever, you can get concentrates all over the place. Yeah, but not federally, like carry them across all the provincial lines, all our versions of states. We can just carry those extracts over those lines. And that might seem like a simple thing, but it's a very big deal to people like me and Colton Turner who have to move away from their support system and live in a place where their family doesn't live.

BubblemanThat's the difference between a federal program and a state program. So hopefully they get their shit together sooner than later and let companies apply for licenses to process. Or give licenses to the people who are already growing for distribution to allow them to process or hire companies, third parties like myself and Horatio, to come in and do this sort of processing that we're aching to do. We're just like, where are we going to do it?

BubblemanWe're ready to do it. It's a matter of where is it going to happen first? Where will you see the first federally legal LHO? Will it be in Jamaica? Will it be in Canada? Will it be in the U.S.? Will it be in another country that we haven't thought of yet? Federal is the real key.

SpeakerWell, federal is what's at every border. That's kind of another reason why it's the real key, but what's exciting is to try to stem The majors going a step backwards because they know nothing about our industry and world. I mean, we've seen what they've done to the weed they grow. So I'd hate to see an extract not guided by the people who've currently, you know, set the standard.

SpeakerSo, you know, it would be terrible to find out LPs think hexane is a good solvent and a way to go because they're trapped in 70s logic.

BubblemanRight. Well, I don't think LPs are going to do that. I think LPs are going to be at least wise enough through the massive amounts of funds that they've invested that they're going to look at as many different opportunities as possible and hopefully the solventless quiver and things like LHO can stand above some of the other processes that are a little bit more... Ah, sketchy done in the wrong hands.

BubblemanI'm sure they'll have access to all the right people. I'm sure all the extracts will be available in Canada. I can't imagine it any other way. I bet you they have a dozen different types of extracts available.

SpeakerATN, do you have anything like that in California where it's a known processor that is the closest thing to corporate?

Etienne FontanYes, we see people, but unfortunately, production is, depending on how it is produced, is, you know, besides water, you know, is considered illegal in the eyes of California, and they can't get licenses, even though these people are scientists, have explosion-proof rooms, they've been found by their landlords and kicked out and harassed and Unfortunately, they are still able to move and bring product to market, but unfortunately, the reality still is we don't have regulation, and I want regulation.

Etienne FontanThey want regulation. But right now, everybody's being knee-jerk and reactionary in California. In fact, there's a legislator trying to limit the amount of cans of BHO you can actually buy a month in California to try and stem... To try to stem the explosions that are happening to, you know, people making bathtub gin. Right.

SpeakerThe problem isn't so much, it's the lack of regulation. I mean, you look at someone like Top Shelf, which is legally operating for half a decade with zero safety problems, and we're talking, you know, some days over 100, 200 pounds of material get run. It's a massive operation. And it's legal. Completely legal, completely regulated. It's not in residential areas. And you know, this is the thing. We've been doing this with perfume, with coffee, with volatile oils, and a whole bunch of other arenas safely with food products for decades.

SpeakerAnd they're trying to deny our industry the application of this technology is really what they're doing. And it's wrong. And we're seeing this double-sidedness because you're seeing CBD-only oil legislation passing in America in some of the most conservative states that I've ever imagined. And they're also going after people making this, making the oil that's really the most medical. You know, and there's this huge confusion on what's going on right now in regards to oil, but we all need to start demanding an equal right to be able to process our cannabis any way we want that's safe, especially when we have lab results from the products that we're creating that show how clean and good it is, if you will, that show that it's just cannabinoids and terpenes.

Etienne FontanWell, these products are also leading the way in testing because these are, They're getting this into the labs to test. They're asking what's in here, what's not in here so that they can actually prove. So it's actually the butane extractive hash that's actually leading the way in some of the hash science. Currently at least pushing that edge because of the curiosity of what is this.

SpeakerAnd the reason I think I'm pushing for it so much is because I've never seen more effective Cannabis therapy to people. I mean, like I've said it before, Elvie Musica would show up at my house. She could smoke all your shit, and she would still have headaches with her glaucoma. She would still have problems. She starts hitting dabs, and she's content. She's okay. And I've never seen that happen with her before.

SpeakerShe could never get enough cannabinoids before, and now they affect her in a way that's completely positive.

Etienne FontanDifferent folks, different things work for different metabolisms. That's the thing, you know.

SpeakerWell, I think that, you know, look, I like joints, but it would take me so much pot to smoke what I could get in a hit of a dab. You know what I mean? If we're talking just cannabinoid content, how many cannabinoids are in this available to me by smoking it? Comparatively, if I were to do one dab of one hit, so if I'm having a real hard time with chronic neck pain because my neck's fused, or if somebody's having a problem with a sudden spastic moment or nausea or something that's really physically intense, a joint's nice, but that's beautiful, Mark.

SpeakerWhat's in there?

BubblemanThose are capsules that Phil from True Genetics, Saka Genetics, made and gifted me for a He makes them for migraine headaches, but they're phytocannabinoids, great way to intake phytocannabinoids as you were talking. What is the dosage per pill? I would share that. I'd have to get him in to talk about it, and he definitely could give the full breakdown on what material he used and how he did it and the breakdown on how much is in each one, but I was given them via...

BubblemanDarren, so he saw D420K, gave them to Darren, and Darren gave them to me, so I don't have the information, but I'll get it for sure. Phil can come on and talk about it. They're real nice. I've had a few, and they really just relax, and they're really strong in the back of the neck and the back of the head.

Etienne FontanSo yes, Horatio, we do in California see professional makers, unfortunately. We still have to test everything because there's still inconsistencies from producer to producer across the board, again, as we say, due to the absence of regulations. And even the current regulations that are putting forth in California do not even address this. It's just still dealing with the other problems that we've been dealing with where right now this is the tip of the spear.

Etienne FontanThis is what's actually happening right now. Literally, figuratively. So, well, it's actually becoming history considering Rosin. It's a new thing. But it's still, again, you know, still a process that's still being understood by people. And, again, as stated, there's more misinformation out there than there is proper, you know, information about it.

SpeakerI guess I was trying to figure out a parallel if our corporate LPs would be more like what the University of Mississippi is in America. It's kind of like what if the government federally allowed extracts, but the University of Mississippi was going to provide them. You kind of rack your brain and think what product would they produce left to normal scientific guidelines.

Etienne FontanEl Soli produces and has patents. His patent that he patented is suppositories. He believes that he wants to make THC suppositories that you can shove up your ass. That is what our U.S. government regulation currently of the gentleman who... Can I talk about that for a minute?

SpeakerSeriously, in 1998 when they were trying to find THC-V in my urine because, you know, they hated me that much, that they wanted to make sure I was only taking Marinol and not smoking pot, so they sent my urine and only my urine all the way to the University of Mississippi to be tested by a soli for THC-V. And when we went to court, I know Asoli.

SpeakerHe walks in. He sees me. He says, hi. He says, are you a journalist covering this today, Todd? I said, no, I'm the defendant. And he said, oh, no. I think I could have a conflict of interest. But they figured there wasn't one, and he went forward. It was the most amusing thing. But realiztically, my lawyer pointed out that wouldn't it, because the suppository came up, as a potential application for cannabinoid delivery for me while I was going through my federal system.

SpeakerAnd not to be fucking rude, but you're seriously telling me to shove my weed up my ass, and it's going to be a government suppository that I was like... And my lawyer at the time, Dave Michael, says, wouldn't it take the federal government to literally take something that has been literally a symbol of peace, something that you pass hand to hand, mouth to mouth, and you share in these communal circles and turn it into something that an individual sticks up their ass.

SpeakerHe's like, is that not the mentality of the United States government? But it was pretty funny, man. I'm afraid of a health minister coming up with a policy. Oh, extracts are legal? Well, the only legal way to provide them is suppositories. Go for it, Canadians. And then we're back in court. Dude, who the hell wants to do that? I don't care how effective it is. Pass, thanks.

SpeakerThe abundance of small capillaries and blood vessels in that tissue make it an ideal tissue for the passage of fat-soluble cannabinoids, period. End of story. Dr. Nobody's hating on their rectum, but it's not the most convenient way to consume your cannabis.

BubblemanYou just said no one's hating on their rectum, but.

SpeakerDr. Yeah.

Etienne FontanMark, we're not disagreeing there. All I'm telling Horatio is don't look to the U.S. government to look for a solution because our solution is shove it up your ass. So, you know, it was just anecdotal. But, yes, you are correct. Yes, the absorption ratio in the anus definitely works. It is definitely scientifically proven to work. It just was interesting that Soli, who is the lead scientist there at the University of Mississippi, He's allowed to get patents and make patents and he can make money off of it.

Etienne FontanSo that's the government's idea and so again his idea is to make suppositories. So that's as best as we've gotten. So again, don't look to United States ratio. Canada needs to look out for themselves, look out for the best and you guys know what's needed. That's what makes me proud to see John and others going out there and speaking out and actually speaking the truth because if you rely on your health minister, holy shit, you're in a world of hurt.

SpeakerWell, she told kids to smoke it and your government told kids to shove it up their ass, so it's... Racked them, damn near killed them.

BubblemanThat's what Josh just said in the chat. I thought that was funny.

SpeakerHe got that from Beavis and Buckhead. Hey, kids, can I point something out too, by the way? By the way, guess who's not slipping on getting his patents before he talks in public? Muhammad Asoli, publication number, blah, blah, blah, pub date, February 14th. Oh, Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day, 1995. He got his patent. Suppository formulations having long-term stability and containing readily bioavailable Delta-9 derivatives.

Etienne FontanI think they were heart-shaped suppositories on that day.

SpeakerDude, they beat you to the bubble bags, too. Sully had some you could stick up your ass long before we were separated water and ash. That is great, dude. Here, everybody, the US patent number here. This is too funny. Oh, I love computers. I just love computers. I just love them.

BubblemanThey make the information available to you at the tip of your fingers.

SpeakerDude, it's a beautiful thing. US patent number.

BubblemanLooks like five, three, eight. Last search has gotten terrible. I see someone wrote rosin rectum. I see someone writing boof jankum.

SpeakerBoof jankum. Oh, my God. Hey, we're not the ones that came up with the suppository. We're just newsmen. This is simply the news, okay?

Etienne FontanWe're just conveying. We're just conveying. That's all we're doing. I think, Todd, it's a pat number five, three, eight, nine. 3, 7, 5.

BubblemanWell, Johnny just texted me and says he's going to have a video of the suppository and how to do it. The whole nine yards is coming up on his channel later on if you guys want to check that out. Turns out he's not mad at his rectum. I just hope he shaves first. No rectal anger there, people. Yeah, you should probably go get some anal bleaching done, too, before you do that video.

SpeakerSo should we all send the government, like, photos of our assholes to see if their suppository would work? That might be perfect, huh? Well, you know it's a horse pill that they're going to send us, a real big horse pill. With a string attached.

Etienne FontanI like what somebody wrote. It gives you the technology to blow it out your ass.

SpeakerHe thought this was a viable idea. He thought people were going to love this. This is great. This is how I want to get on.

BubblemanIt reminds me of the guy, and I can't remember what this is. I can't remember if it was a Tosh.0. I think it might have been a Tosh.0 video. Some guy gets invited to a guy's house, and he's going to show him this invention that he's invented, and it's like a toilet that talks to the kid and gives him like, good job, you know. You're doing great.

BubblemanOh, you're so big. And everything that the toilet recorder said sounded really nasty and dirty and perverted. And when the guy being shown the invention pointed that out, the dude who invented it got so upset. And it really kind of reminds me of this conversation right now.

SpeakerYou know what was weird? When Asoli had to testify against me, he slipped and called me Todd in the middle of his testimony against me. And the magistrate actually stopped him and he said, did you just refer to the defendant by his first name? And he said, I may have. And he said, do you know the defendant outside the proceedings? He said, oh yes, for years. He was like...

SpeakerFrom where? And he says the ICRS, and bro, it was before they changed the name from cannabis to cannabinoid. And the judge was all, what is this acronym? And he says the International Cannabis Research Society. And the judge was like, so then he says, would you consider Mr. McCormick one of your peers? And his answer was, he's not accredited with the university. And the judge asked him again, but he's not accredited with the university.

SpeakerAnd then the judge said, well, if he were. And he said, oh, yeah. Dude, it's all in transcript. It gets funnier, people, actually. And this is really an interesting lesson. Because then what happened, I was in there with Alan Isaacman and David Michael, and they were fucking going to lock me up for having THCV in my system and pull Woody's half a million dollars. This was all real, real shit.

SpeakerAnd... My attorney says, why can't we buy the test so it goes national so that everybody can benefit from a Solis test? The prosecutor says, oh no, that would be like 20 grand. My attorney at the time is Alan Isaacman, who's Larry Flint's attorney. He says... I'll give you 15. And I'm like, what the hell is going on? So the magistrate, I swear to shit, takes a break.

SpeakerThis money goes to a solely, he ends up settling on $17,500 and we paid for him to be able to actually have the, like to be able to use this into testing. So, but it was kind of a trick. And this is what initially pissed me off because when we went to dinner that night, I was like, I'm not going to do this. I'm not going to, this is why I hate the court system because if I was in there and I was broke, I wouldn't be able to fucking buy the test from the government's goddamn forensic toxicologist and be able to change the outcome.

SpeakerI'd be in jail. This is why I hate the system. And they were like, So for three days I decided I wasn't going to pay the test because I felt like it wasn't a civil court and the judge couldn't push me to pay a solely $17,500 for a test that I didn't even want him to be able to perform on me out of principle. So, because it wasn't true.

SpeakerTHCA isn't, THCV isn't even found in all varieties of cannabis. So his test was floored from all levels. I broke down and paid for the testing because they were going to lock me up in prison. So we paid a solely $17,500 to implement the THCV test. Then one fucking year later he tried to use it against me, of course, because it was right before the rescheduling of Marinol.

SpeakerMarinol went from a Schedule 2 to a Schedule 3 the weekend before July 4th, 1999. And right before that happened, they buried the story. They put it out on a Friday right before the 4th of July by the time You know, the Tuesday news cycle came around. Nobody reported on the fact that for the first time in controlled substance CSA history, a cannabinoid or a molecule was downscheduled.

SpeakerIt was huge. But before that happened, he knew this was going to happen, and he knew marijuana had a potential need to blow up. So he was trying to get his THC V test everywhere. So he came back to try to hammer on me, and we brought John Morgan in, which was funnier than shit, as our forensic toxicologist. He wrote Marijuana Myths, Marijuana Lies. Which was completely hilarious.

SpeakerWell, we go in and we actually had people testify to the fact that realiztically without cut-off levels, without human studies, without... Any of this, his test was inadmissible.

Etienne FontanWithout peer review, right?

SpeakerWithout peer review, without human studies, without cut-off levels, and cut-off levels are important because it shows the fidelity of a substance. A cut-off level means that under a certain amount of nanograms, it's not in your system anymore. He was facing all these hurdles and we killed him on it and he was not able to use that THC-V test on anybody post that for quite a while because he didn't get the validation in federal court against me that he was looking for.

SpeakerBut it was pretty crazy, man. I mean, it... It's unbelievable how hard-line the government took against me simply using cannabis as a potential while they were letting me use Marinol. They freaked out that much. They were piss-testing me five times a month and literally sending my pee all the way to Mississippi to try to find any evidence that I had any metabolites that shouldn't be there.

Etienne FontanDr. How's that for craziness, people?

SpeakerWhat a fucking race.

Etienne FontanI watched it all go down, too. It was crazy to watch. And much love. Hey, I want to take a poll for John Morgan because one hell of a doctor, one hell of a great guy, he has passed on. You really had some heavy hitters, Todd.

SpeakerYeah, you know, it was funny because after that first time when we purchased the test from Asoli, he came in initially and there was like two sides of the courtroom. There's the prosecutors and there's like their experts and then there's my side of the courtroom which had the reporters and my girlfriend and all our friends and everyone that would be there. Our side would always be full.

SpeakerAnd when we made that test, when we purchased it the first year around, It was hilarious because a solely comes in after the conversation. He's enthralled in a conversation with John Morgan. And they sit down together on my side of the courtroom and finish the conversation while the judge is dealing with the proceedings. And when he walked out, he laughed. The magistrate actually looked up and laughed.

SpeakerAnd my lawyer nudged me because I had two of them. And he points back, and I look back, and it's all he's sitting with John Morgan like three rows behind us. When we started this, he was sitting behind the prosecutor over there because he was, you know, like he switched teams. Dude, it was hilarious, honestly. But it ended up being the death burden of his test because, you know, my lawyer saw that he didn't have the cutoff levels, he didn't have human testing, he didn't have the required...

SpeakerLike basically prongs of a federal application of a test. So he was able to see in advance that if they were stupid enough to fall for the money, that they would lose the test when they tried to apply it to me. And he was 100% right and that's exactly what happened. They went for the fucking carrot and they lost the whole thing.

BubblemanIndeed. Well, listen, before, I'm sure we still are going to go for a little bit longer, but I want to just mention that we're doing a raffle through the good folks at D-Nail to raise some money for the Zach Gillis Fund. My buddy Zach, who's caught up on some RICO charges and potentially facing 25 years in prison for carrying cannabis over a state line from one state to another.

BubblemanAnd so I just wanted to show that real quick. That's what we're raffling off right there. It's a single denail 2.0 that comes with the case, the glass pipe, a really nice little, you can't see it, but there's a pendant right here that's quite a nice pendant. It's about $2,400 worth of stuff, and they're only selling 20 tickets, and tickets are $100. Basically all the profit margin, about 400 US dollars of the sale of the tickets is going right to Zach's fund and I thank D-Nail for putting up this raffle.

BubblemanYou guys can check it out at www.d-nail.com backslash raffle, R-A-F-F-L-E and that's a great way to support someone that can use some help and at the same time put yourself into An opportunity where you come home with something that's damn near worth $2,500. It's definitely a nice kit. We're also, with D-Nail, they've given us a code for Hash Church. It's Hash Church, one word. And when you buy anything on Sundays through their websites, if you use that code, Hash Church, that discount that you'll get, there's some money that's put aside from that, and it's going to go to, for now, the Zach Gillis Fund.

BubblemanAnd potentially in the future, hopefully I hope to be able to raise money for people that require the help. If we can bring people in here and share information and do all of what we've been doing and then also somehow help with a care package of, you know, a great amount of some oil or some resins or some extracts that are clean and safe and efficient for those particular people in those particular countries or states.

BubblemanWell, then I'm all for it. You know, giving people money, there's nothing illegal about that. If they just go and buy phytocannabinoids with it or acquire phytocannabinoids with it, it seems like it would be a great thing. So go check out D-Nail for that raffle. I wanted to mention that and the Zach Gillis Fund. You can check out Zach Gillis Legal Fund on Facebook. It's a closed group, but you're welcome to ask to join if you want to learn more.

BubblemanAnd, yeah, he's a good buddy of mine. He was a huge influence in the glass industry, and I haven't seen him in a long time, but I know he doesn't belong in a jail in the U.S. right now, so.

Etienne Fontan$100 for a D-nail and a full rig, man, that's a steal and a half.

BubblemanYeah, it's literally like $2,500 value, $2,400, I think they have it up on the site there, so it's definitely, the pendant's really nice, and they even had a, They even had a custom, can't really see the pendant very well, but they had a custom wrap done so the pendant hangs on a really nice, I don't think it's just a simple piece of leather or something, I think they made a real nice rope for it to go around so I haven't seen that yet but very cool of them to do that and it's like you say for a hundred bucks.

BubblemanYou know, people donate that all the time for things. To have it be like a lottery ticket is even better. So that's all I will say on the matter.

Etienne FontanHey, what is that pimp hat you're wearing? That is a beautiful hat. Can you show it off?

BubblemanOh, this is my grow room hat from William from Brazil. And this is an amazing hat. I should really learn the name of the gentleman who painted it. It was given to me in Spain this last year. In Barcelona. And he's got a variety of these characters, these bud characters. And I think they're really great. You know, it gives that kind of like cartoon-esque, almost the stereotype of like the stoner, yet it's not.

BubblemanI don't have a negative attribute from it. Because it's cartoon-like, I think it's really, he's done a really great job in capturing, you know, the quality of this little bud character. I love it. I thank you, William. And go support these guys, Grow Room. The Grow Room. They are in Brazil. They are completely, I don't know if the whole website is in Portuguese or Spanish or what it is, but they are the biggest thing going in Brazil right now for sharing of this information and helping Create a platform for people to help educate themselves.

BubblemanSo, props to William. You guys can check it out.

SpeakerCould you repeat where, could you, oh no, Alan, oh man. Could you repeat that URL for the contest again? I can't find it on the DNA website.

BubblemanOh, it's d-nail.com, so you have to have the hyphen in there, d-nail.com backslash raffle, R-A-F-F-L-E. And I posted that on my Facebook.

SpeakerFound it.

BubblemanThank you, sir. No problem.

Etienne FontanSo Canada, what is the next step for Canada now with this ruling? What is the next step?

BubblemanThe next step for Canada is for us to figure out how

BubblemanThe next ruling in my opinion is to produce a tertiary type of license. Right now we have the first type of license is the personal grow license. That license should come with You don't have to test. You don't have to have standards. You just get to produce medicine for yourself as long as you don't try to put it into a public forum where people can acquire it.

BubblemanYou don't have to, and you're not legally allowed to do that through your license. Then there's the other type of licenses who are the big companies that have come in and purchased licensed production facilities. They also have a license to sell the material, and that's the only two in Canada right now. What needs to happen is the third license needs to be acquired, which would be for MMAR growers, personal licensed people who are the type of growers that are growing bigger and on a better scale and they can actually produce quality for more people, they should have a third type of license to acquire that they themselves can pay to get tested, have higher standards available because they're going to open, you know, sell that on a market.

BubblemanSo whether that market or that license allows them personally to sell it to a direct market You know, patients or whether they are only able to sell it to, you know, dispensaries and licensed producers. And we need that same type of license available for dispensaries to be able to operate because they're all operating right now through civil disobedience and they're all breaking federal law. And they shouldn't have to be doing that because really what they're doing is they're saving Canadians that require concentrates and oils that are not yet available through these licensed producers.

BubblemanSo I think once we see that happen, Etienne, Canada is going to be in a seriously strong position if it happened like that, that we were allowed to, you have your licensed producers that are growing in multi-million dollar facilities, you have your personal homegrown growers that you give to anyone that wants it that has the right to do that. It's easy. Who cares if 100,000 people want to do it as long as they're not selling their product in the marketplace, they won't affect the marketplace for the dispensaries and the licensed producers.

BubblemanThat's my opinion.

Etienne FontanDo you have any? Will those be government licenses or will these be provisional licenses on behalf of the government?

BubblemanWell, right now the licenses are from the federal government and I think it's what makes our licensing system strong because it's from the highest courts, it's from the highest government. You can't be messed with from a policeman in a different province because you have a funny plate. You can't be messed with. It's all across the board and I think that's a very important factor when it comes to producing legislative Thank you for joining us.

BubblemanI don't think that it should be in Health Canada's charge. I think it's, like I said, a legal food product, an essential food product that should be reclassified. But as it is the way it is now, that's what needs to happen. Those licenses need to be applied. Because keep in mind, we've been growing hemp since 1994. Here's some crazy news. My old partners in Manitoba Harvest, which I should have had shares in to this day and I was an investor and whatnot.

BubblemanThey just sold their company, Manitoba Harvest, the company that started based on all the activist work that we did back in the 90s for $133.5 million. So Manitoba Harvest just sold for $133.5 million. It was a US firm that bought them.

BubblemanAnd the paperwork should go through in the next 45 days. So I congratulate them. I congratulate those guys. I hope you did well in that, guys. And I was definitely a big part of that. So it's neat to see it come to fruition. It's random that it's sold to an American company, but I hope they do good with it. And who has a better marketplace than an American company?

BubblemanWe can grow enough hemp. Even for that marketplace and we're well established in this marketplace for growing hemp in Canada for seed and food product that they have a pretty good, they're in a good position for that. So I congratulate them, really quite incredible. I was amazed when I saw the number amount on that sale.

SpeakerSo good for them.

BubblemanNice. And hopefully good for hemp, you know, hopefully it gets it into a bigger marketplace that they were unable to breach and gets that product sold and is good for Manitoba farmers because people need their hemp seed. Even though I know a lot of American states are getting on board and starting to plant hemp and that will definitely affect Canada over the course of the next 10 years, they are in a unique position today having 20 years under their belt for producing hemp seed and de-hauling hemp seed and pressing it for oil.

BubblemanThey have a little bit of an advantage there. Yeah, Vancouver Seed Bank, you can't be all. For a long time I had a riff with those guys and I'm happy that I have no more riff with those guys. They've done a lot of work, hard work that I wasn't a part of, so good for them to have brought that to fruition. I love seeing success. In the cannabis world, and we don't get enough of it, so when someone does have success in the cannabis world, for God's sakes, be happy for them.

BubblemanJesus, support them, please.

Etienne FontanThere's so few along the way, you know, that support each other.

BubblemanOh, compared to all the heart throbs, sob stories, the just epic loss of life and the destruction and the sadness that was so much a part of it for so long that it's nice to see good things happening. That's good.

SpeakerWell, guys, thank you for letting me join you again today, Mark. I get to photograph all of this.

BubblemanOoh, that would stress me out a little bit, I'm not going to lie. You know, I'm going to take it as it is. You're at home, and you're comfortable, and you know what people usually do to me? Even Tilray did it to me. I went and photographed at Tilray, and they were like, yeah, it's just 13 strains, and I got there, and it was 27 strains. And I was like, ooh, wow, like to shoot in one day, that's going to be tough.

BubblemanI pulled it off, but I'll tell you, that was like back-breaking, like hard labor too. Because with macro, what I like to do is I like to shoot on my 1-1 true macro, but then I like to go into 2-1, 3-1, 4-1, and 5-1 and find specific crops of even in those areas. But then I like to peel that lens off and shoot a portrait shot of each particular bud or part of plant that I'm shooting.

BubblemanSo... You know, all of that becomes time-consuming the more strains that you have, so what do you have, 40 there?

SpeakerYes, I have 40 today. I did 42 when they did it here in the East Bay. I'm going to do it more with consistency. I mean, anyone who's looking, if you go to my Instagram, you can scroll down to a couple months ago, and you'll see all the white backdrop hash pictures. And they're even more incredible on my website because they're in full resolution. But I kind of do it like once I get a consistency going which is going to be white backdrop and you know honestly it's hard to get this stuff.

SpeakerI'm going to put it all in the refrigerator and then bring it out as I go in the freezer and do it as cold as I can do it. Thank you for watching.

SpeakerYou know, images that you take, like, you know, make things look like it doesn't look to the naked eye, and I think that's what people are, they're tripping on the colors, they're tripping on the beauty of it, and it's kind of cool. I'm glad that they liked my shots, and I feel like it's an honor to be able to basically highlight their work as nicely as I can.

SpeakerBut...

BubblemanI apologize if you're on the screen right now.

BubblemanI'm trying to stop the script and bring you up because I like when people are talking that they're the ones that are actually on the screen talking. So there we go. I finally got you for your goodbye. I think it's flipping back and forth between a thousand people. That's really quite annoying.

SpeakerWell, then we should all say goodbye.

BubblemanAwesome.

SpeakerI love it. Good night, everybody.

BubblemanTake it easy, Todd. Thanks for coming in.

BubblemanYeah, I'm all frozen up here, so I think I'm going to end it here at four and a half hour mark of Hash Church. I guess we missed our 420 rip, four hour and 20 rip mark, but I thank you guys all for coming in and sharing with us, and hopefully we'll have a nice Hash Church planned for you next week. Try to get something together, maybe see if one of those shows can come together, the Hash or the Glass show, but I won't hold my breath on that.

BubblemanCheck out the raffle at D-Nail and check us out at Hash Church on Facebook. Thank you everyone for coming out and being a part of it.
