BubblemanAm I live? Am I live? Am I live? Oh yeah, that's commercial. I think we're going. I think we're going.

BubblemanAll right. All right, here we go. Welcome, everybody. Welcome, everybody, to season 11 of Hash Church episode 46. Can you believe it? 46 episodes this year? I'm telling you. We are rocking and rolling. Going to be a short Hash Church today, maybe. I'm not a thousand percent sure. That's great that my mouse battery is completely dead. That's going to cause problems. No problem. Got the backup on the phone.

BubblemanI'm heading to Montreal today to go work with my new group, Canara Biotech Quebec. I'll try to do some videos and some photos from there. These guys I've spoken a little bit about before, beyond impressive. Very excited to be going there for the next week. I'll be making hash, hash, hash, hash every day. We're going to be making some traditional hash like this, you know, real nice, beautiful, soft, Beautiful, beautiful.

BubblemanYou know, he sits in the bag for a little bit and it kind of lose, it creates all those ridges and stuff, but it doesn't take much to rub this ball before you can get it a lot less ridgy. So we're going to be talking about hash the whole week over there in Quebec. Super excited. In the meantime, As always, I think it's important that we shout out the people who support us because we do love our supporters.

BubblemanSo let me open up the floor. First come, first serve. All right, I'm going to let Caleb in while I'm doing this because he's awesome. Just going to do the sponsors here real quick, Caleb. And yeah, so first and foremost, big shout out to the Press Club. What incredible sponsors they've been. Trusted by top hash makers from around the world since 2016. The Press Club really is your one-stop shop for award-winning solventless gear.

BubblemanFrom press bags to wash bags to presses to vessels, you'll find everything you need, really, from wash to press. We are big fans of the Press Club and what they're doing in the community, so we're excited to have them on board really as an official sponsor for Hash Church. You've got made in the USA, patented pink stitch, zero blowout guaranteed, small family owned business, free expedited shipping with $75 or more, and of course international shipping available upon request.

BubblemanYou can visit them at thepressclub.com. Dot CEO. And you can use the code hash church to take 10% off your purchase. So big shout out to those guys. Always, always happy to have them supporting us. In the meantime, You can elevate your sessions at Hash Church with Puffco's cutting edge lineup. Starting with the innovative Pivot, a pocket-sized dab pen that delivers the full rig experience on the go.

BubblemanI will be bringing mine today to the airport. Featuring a quick release 3D chamber for premium flavor and real-time temperature control with four heat presets and haptic feedback. For epic group rips, you can dive into the Puffco Peak Pro powered by revolutionary 3D XL Bowl technology. That offers you almost an 80% larger chamber for about twice as much vapor, even heating from the sides, an XL joystick for fuller loads with less reclaim and don't miss the new proxy.

BubblemanOkay, I gotta admit, it's my favorite right now. The modular portable powerhouse with four precision heat settings, fast 90 minute charging, boost mode for intense hits, and an easy assembly for seamless cleaning. Really perfect for any adventure. You can support Puffco's game-changing innovation by heading over to www.puffco.com or following at Puffco on Instagram. And I will say the other thing I love about the new proxy is that I can hook it up to my phone and I can tell how many dabs are left and I can tell what temperature's at and I can play around with the lights, which is less important to me.

BubblemanBut yeah, that's kind of a pretty big deal. Last but not least, I've got to shout out my company, Bubble Bag, stand out as a premier choice for water hash extraction, and I hope it's no surprise why. We are the original innovators who set the standard for quality and performance. Crafted really with durability in mind, our bags come with a lifetime warranty, ensuring that you're covered for years of consistent use.

BubblemanAnd you know what else is cool? People showing up when I sent the link last night at like 1030 at night. So really to both of you, Etienne and Caleb, thank you. Thank you for showing up today.

BubblemanI eggs appreciate. Oh yeah, of course, brother.

Etienne FontanEh, wait till you get the bill.

BubblemanWhat's that?

Etienne FontanI said wait till you get the bill.

BubblemanOh my God, the bill. The bill. I'm flying out in a couple of hours, about three or four hours, and I keep getting emails saying, oh, your flight's been delayed by 20 minutes. And it's just like, dude, like, don't do that. The last time I bought a trip to Montreal, it got completely canceled and Air Canada went on strike for like a month, which... I don't know.

BubblemanThe world's so crazy these days. You can't even like book a flight and know for a fact that you're going to get on that flight. Oh, I better record this. Record. There we go. We want to record that for the podcast. For the podcast that missed the last little bit, I shouted out the Press Club, our sponsors, as well as Puffco, as well as And we'll be mentioning them a bunch more times throughout the day.

BubblemanBut I do apologize for the recording. Missed those sponsorships. And the recording, of course, is not the YouTube recording because that's going live right now. The recording is for the podcast, which I promote on Spotify and Google and Android and Apple. And so any of those spots, if you go into their sort of search for the podcast, Hash Church, You should find us. And we're actually even in some of the much smaller random ones that I don't even really know the names of.

BubblemanBut if you do have a podcast that you listen to, a podcast channel or platform, let us know. And I'll try to get Hash Church over there as well. And shout out to everyone in the room for holding it down as always. Bingo Lombardi doing his good works. Booth 966, John. We got Robert Carroll from Carroll LED in the house. Really just a cool family of people that we have here in Hash Church.

BubblemanIt really is kind of a family thing more than it is, you know, anything else. I think it's why we've done 46 of them in the last year. We're literally five or six away from doing an entire year of Hash Church without missing a Sunday, which of course we've done, but some of those were from 5.0 yesterday. And some of those were from 2024. So 2025, we have not missed a Sunday.

BubblemanAnd I know that might not sound like a big deal to some of you, but let me tell you, from my perspective, it's a big deal. It was the biggest deal when my wife had to choose Sunday for my son's skating lessons. And I had to miss every one of his skating lessons. The last skating lessons were on Saturday and I did not miss, I don't think one, maybe I missed one.

BubblemanAs I get older and realize how fleeting children are, I realized that you want to find a reason to go, not a reason not to go. So if you're a new parent, try to keep that in mind. They grow up really fast and you should be there while they're doing it. It's all they want. Your time.

Collin PalmerPretty much.

BubblemanWelcome, Colin. Daddy-o.

Collin PalmerPaul and Palmer. What's good, baby? How are you guys doing today? I'm excited to be here. I got some good melt and some good rosin.

BubblemanAll right. Okay.

Collin PalmerBeen playing around with making a DIY mixing setup that I can share with young hash makers to be able to make top-down agitation setups so they can make great hash. Nice. I've been doing that the past three weeks, selecting motors and propellers. It's been cool.

BubblemanLook at impellers.

Collin PalmerYeah, impellers. I just saved you a lot of time. I did. That's a wrong choice of words. But yeah, I'm trying to like make something that like I could share this schematic and like some kid that's like just starting can make this for less than like a few hundred dollars, you know?

BubblemanWell, I will say that the plastic bubble now in a set of bags. I mean, I'll be honest. The best hash I ever made in my life, I made with a cake mixer and a five gallon bucket. It's true. And that was like legitimately about $40. And it's because I had to pay way more for the five gallon bucket than it was really worth. The cake mixer was $19.99.

BubblemanNow, this was a while ago. Fuck for all I know, they're $65 now. I get it. Things are more expensive. But I'll tell you, man, like I still can't really believe... Like all my old foam melt was made from a cake mixer, which, you know, it's it speaks volumes to if you want to get this done cheap, you can.

Etienne FontanYeah.

BubblemanAnd at that point, you know, it's it depends on like if you're at a at home kind of guy, you know, Air drying is not a problem. You don't need a, you don't need a freeze dryer. You can air dry hash properly. You can mix it with a cake mixer. You can, you know, the guys back in the day, the bizarre brothers, they used to use linear actuators, which are those very long, right?

BubblemanThey're like a long mixer. And they had the hundred gallon tubs that they would buy from not brewery, but wine, the wine industry. They bought them from these Thank you for joining us.

BubblemanThe Whistler technology equipment blows away a cake mixer in the sense of like ease of use and operations and, you know, just like filling and emptying and all of those things. Sure. But fuck if I didn't get the some of the best quality I've ever gotten from a cake mixer in a five gallon bucket. So do with that where it came from.

Collin PalmerIt's kind of where, you know, I was like, you know, like I see all these expensive units and like I learned doing a drill and use, you know, or a cake mixer in your case or then obviously it was influenced by the, you know, the washing machines that we're, you know, using and I just thought we were having all these weird conversations like, does it really take a huge system to make great hash?

Collin PalmerNo, it just takes the right agitation and the right frame of thought. And I think to your point, Marcus, you can make the best hash with very little. You know, it was like, this is more for me to have fun than anything. This is not like I'm selling something or selling anything to anyone. It's more like, hey, I have this idea. I want to exercise it. I know these components exist.

Collin PalmerWhy not compile it, make a list, and share it as an open source thing? I love it.

BubblemanI mean, really, that's what we did with the cake mixer in the bucket too. It was kind of like, it was a bit secretive. It was a little bit like, you know, the information just wasn't out there. Mila's original bag, she refused to put numbers on the screens. She didn't want to tell people what the screens were. So like, that was like, And in her defense, you know, kind of good honor because it probably kept the first 20 people who were like, I should make these bags from doing it because you had to send them into a lab and put them under a microscope back then, especially in the late 90s.

BubblemanLike, Good luck figuring out what micron size the screens were. You know what I mean? Like what? Go ahead.

Etienne FontanThe original one I worked on, you know, which was, again, that bubble machine that had just, you know, the five gallon container with just one screen. Reinhardt. Yeah, Reinhardt's machine. And I loved it in the sense that, well, he sold a great mixer at the top of it, right? I swear that thing worked forever. You also find out how good or bad engineering is, right? In the sense of, you know, I probably only went through one or two, you know, cake mixers.

Etienne FontanI was surprised that they were able to take the load per se, you know?

BubblemanDude, with all the stocks wrapping around the top of the little prongs. Right, you have to disentangle all that. I've totally forgot about the stops.

Collin PalmerIt's so funny you bring that up. I used to have to like stop it, pull them out and be like, take a knife and shave it off. Yeah, man.

Etienne FontanThank you for watching.

Collin PalmerNature happens. You know, the format begins. Nature was going to happen regardless when that goes down, you know?

Etienne FontanYeah. Yeah.

BubblemanYeah. Well, you know what? We've come a long way. There's no doubt about it. And it's great. I love the equipment and the machinery and, you know, going to the lab. I mean, I'm about to go to a state of the art lab later on today. I mean, it is next level. Like I said, these guys have... They have room for 24,000 lights. They have 12,000 burning right now with greenhouse ceilings and blackout tarps, metal halides, HPSs and LEDs all in the ceiling over the plants.

BubblemanAll automated Dutch horticulture with, you know, all the tables can go out into that middle row of, you know, conveyor belt. And yeah, they've got They do their BHO in one class one D1 room. They've got water hash going. They've got dry sifting. They've got three monster hashtag units. And you go into this room and there's just this poor French guy in a cloud of dry sift.

BubblemanThis guy is pumping out, he must be making five or 10 kilos every hour. He is making hash. And it's just super awesome that all these people These French folks in Quebec are just, they're really like at the top of the game right now, especially in Canada. It's incredible. I'm like a kid in a candy store when I go to this place, just being able to play around with all the different things.

BubblemanThe plan this week is to Thank you so much for watching.

BubblemanThank you for watching.

BubblemanThese are the regulations. And for whatever reason, Quebec, the hash capital of the world, for God's sakes, I really would, if there was a competition on who smokes the most hash, I mean, I would put Quebec against some of the European countries, like for real. These motherfuckers smoke hash. There is no doubt about it. But they got kind of fucked. Not, not Thank you so much for joining us.

BubblemanI mean, listen, people are blown away that this hemp loop has been closed. I'm like, how can you not be blown away that this hemp loop was open? Like to me, that is the most fucking crazy thing ever, ever, ever. And don't get me wrong. I am with Sam on this. Access, access, access. The reason you never heard me complain about the hemp laws or the loophole, whatever you want to call it, the farm bill.

BubblemanI never complained about it personally because it was giving access to people. And so to me, that's hard to kind of beat. Now, on the flip side, was it undermining the legal THC and medical platforms? Well, of course, to a degree, somewhat, I think a little bit. I mean, I will say this. I have partners in the U.S. who wanted to do it with my brand. And I was like, well, I've got partners in those states that you want to just sell your gummies or your whatever over the border.

BubblemanSo for me, it became a little bit of a problem. I certainly didn't want them to close the loophole. I certainly didn't lobby for them to close the loophole. But when people say... Thank you so much for joining us.

Etienne FontanYeah, that's right. And the local municipalities, that's about it. But for the most part, it wasn't just the hemp bill, which of course we saw was directly lobbied by the whiskey and alcohol industry for sure. I saw that. Yeah, and that's circulated. I sent that to Caleb and others. Ryan has been circulating that as well. But yeah, not only did they do that, they also pulled... For the first time, well, on top of seeds, for the first time, we had approved language for veterans that they could recommend medical cannabis.

Etienne FontanAnd it was approved finally in both the House and the Senate. And that was pulled. So now medical doctors in the VA will not once again in the 11th hour, well, I guess 11th hour, 59th minute or 1201, as Michael Crowitt says,

BubblemanWhen was that language written? Like that wasn't in the farm bill. That was like a new language that was also struck down along with the closing or?

Etienne FontanIt was in the budget bill. It was originally approved by the Senate and then a different language in the House. And then they both approved the same language. And that was the first time. So we were really excited. But once again, At the when everything was to go forward, they pulled our access for veterans. Once again, it was the Republicans once again. And on top of that, as you stated, a big thing that's going to affect some people is, of course, seeds are once again back in the illegal.

Etienne FontanWell, you've got three hundred and six fifty something days to.

BubblemanSo the seed companies are going to do $40 million in business. Like it boosted their business. Let's just say.

Etienne FontanGoing out of business sales for sure. They're going to do some.

BubblemanBut you think they're going to go out of business? I remember when Mark Emery was the most wanted person in the world and he was selling seeds out of Vancouver just like a fucking maniac.

Etienne FontanYeah, but they were illegal. There was the SSSC. I mean, come on. Nobody's going to stop again. As we said earlier, it's just going to shift. Another banner. Right. It's no longer going to be imported taxes paid. People are going to go back to boofing it or, you know, putting it in the edges of cardboard boxes. And however, you know, we got seeds through before, you know, it's not like the, oh, prohibition just kept it down.

Etienne FontanSo we could do nothing with the cannabis. Oh, no, no. If we fucking moved it, you know, on our bodies in any way, shape or form, and it spread its way all around the world.

BubblemanSo this is a federal, this is a federal law. Hashingtons is saying nothing's closed. It isn't a loophole. It's not changing states' rights after a year. Individual states still have the right to make their individual laws. I think so many people are confused by this. What I saw the minute it happened was we can't sell seeds anymore. Oh my God, they're coming for the, like people were just like, their head was on fire.

BubblemanAnd I was just like, I'm, I don't know. Maybe it's terrible. Maybe it's not. I guess I've just been in this for so long that I'm just kind of like, you know what? I'll just stay even. I'll figure it out. I'll look at it. Is it the end of the world? Probably not.

Etienne FontanIt's the unregulated that's been the problem, right? If they were all good actors, I don't think we'd be here, right? It's the bad actors putting bad stuff in that's getting people sick and ill and these different product lines that, you know.

BubblemanWhich kind of showed the regulations weren't on point. Like they weren't safe regulations. The regulations I work under in America.

Etienne FontanIt wasn't a regulation as much as it was a loophole. Well, that's what I'm saying.

BubblemanSo when you don't have boundaries, you get a bunch of maniacs in. Here's a perfect example. The first destruction of the farm bill was when my friend was making THC crystals, Tony Anthony from Colorado. He was one of the first to do it. Literally, if not the first to do it. He was making those Superman crystals that I used to share. Big fucking core, right? He was crushing it.

BubblemanHe was getting $60,000.

BubblemanFor a fucking kilo. 60,000 US dollars for a kilo. And then the farm bill came in and everyone was growing hemp. And then it was like, I think it was three years and he was getting $600. And it was just like, obviously a kilo of CBD is not worth 6,000 or $60,000. We can all agree on that. But we can also all agree when there's not enough kind of regulations to sort of create boundaries, parasites move in and they dilute it till it doesn't exist.

BubblemanAnd that's what they did. They bankrupted so many people because people invested so much money that suddenly it was like $600 a kilo. Like, what the fuck am I going to do with that?

Etienne FontanThank you for watching.

Etienne FontanAnd when that 365 days clears out, the DEA and the locals are coming out swinging and they're going to come out swinging hard. And it's unfortunately going to be the small gas station, head shop, etc. That's going to be made example of because the distributors will have gotten through their shit and will be walking away, right, by 364. They're walking away. Sorry, I don't know why I did that.

Etienne FontanThat's funny. And that's just the reality of what it's going to be again. And then you're just going to see those same actors just reprocess, repackage, and just they'll have a different underground distribution center than they had prior. and we're going to do exactly what we did before and unfortunately well fortunately there's now new ways of producing drinks and products etc but the frustration is going to be is for the consumer because the consumer has now found that oh you know what i like this thc drink i like this cbd drink because i i get what i need from it and i don't need Thank you so much for joining us.

Etienne FontanGen X and Gen Z. And both of them like the drinks. They like the accessibility. And now to lose that and lose that access, of course, one reason why, even though the alcohol industry was in it, it affected the bottom lines of their patented products and product lines. You can still make drinks.

BubblemanYou can still make drinks.

Etienne FontanRight, but they're rotting on the shelves. They still have expiration dates, but they're no longer able to turn them over in the time frame.

BubblemanWell, talk to Keith Cola about that because they're selling millions of dollars of beverages. Like, they are selling so many beverages. I'm just telling you what we're seeing. I carry all the drinks myself. Yeah, yeah, of course. It makes no sense that if they're allowed, this is my problem. And I see people all the time like, oh, we just got to, it's too regulated. It's too regulated.

BubblemanIt's like, yeah, well, you know what? Unfortunately, our food and our air and our drinks aren't fucking regulated and that's why everything's poison. And I really don't want to see cannabis turn into that. The food that you eat in America is poison. And it's regulated poison. You're allowed to buy... Poison and feed it to your children. This is fucked in the head. And I've said it a million times.

BubblemanIf one thing we can learn from the overregulation of cannabis, because I don't want it overregulated, I just know that I need to have it regulated. Because when it's not regulated, I've seen the guy in the BHO lab go to the bathroom and wipe his ass and not wash his hands and then go make the BHO and have E. coli show up in the BHO. We are dirty motherfuckers and we need to be regulated.

BubblemanAnd if we're not regulated, you got fucking pubes in your hash. I don't want pubes in my hash. I certainly don't want it to be over-regulated and insane and you can't even access it or this, that, and the other thing. And yes, cannabis is highly over-regulated, especially packaging and all of this stuff. But I do hope that some of that overregulation spills into our water and our food and our air because you can see the underregulations of those markets has made it so it's okay to poison the human population.

BubblemanAnd that seems to be a very strange thing to be accepting of.

Etienne FontanThe only thing that was accepted was that legal cannabis is being tested and going through the proper channels. The problem is that the bad actors In the THC, I mean, THCA realm in the sense of the hemp aren't. And that's a problem in the sense that if they were doing that, if they were making sure things were safe at safe levels, et cetera, again, I don't think we'd see the problem.

Etienne FontanAnd as a legal purveyor here in California, I've been confused by watching my state make them illegal, whereas they could have just as easily just said, okay, hemp products and THC products are only available at dispensaries locally. And that's how it's going to be. Would have no problem with that. You know what I'm saying? It's just asking us to live in the legal realm and world and go through all the dotting of the I's and crossing of the T's to, you know, watch that goes down.

Etienne FontanI'm not upset about what's happened in the sense that it got out and access. Access should be a completely.

BubblemanI love the access.

Etienne FontanAbsolutely. And how many more people were gained access to cannabis and realize, hey, this is good.

BubblemanMillions.

Collin PalmerRight.

BubblemanProbably the most amount ever. So you're right.

Collin PalmerThere's like two sides. I feel like what you guys are both kind of purveying or kind of expressing here are two slightly different perspectives on the same path almost where, you know, Marcus, I agree with both of you where it's like it did so much greatness to expose people that didn't have any type of So, you know, it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's

Collin PalmerAnd that's where I start to ask the questions because I'm like agnostic. I want access, but let's be honest about what type of access we're giving people, you know, and safe access is, to Marcus's point, is so important because, yeah, you're going to find pew pairs in your hash. It's going to happen if you don't. Like, it's just the way it is.

BubblemanThis is the reality of it.

Collin PalmerHumans are dirty, dirty mammals.

BubblemanExactly. And a perfect example is Jamaica. I have a love for Jamaica. I have a love for the Jamaican culture, the Jamaican people. I just, I have a special place in my heart for them. I fucking love Jamaicans. I love my Jamaican brethren, my sistren. I love going there and hanging out and making hash. And it got, you know, pretty serious for a while for me in Jamaica because what I had to do was, before I made hash at any field, I would walk the perimeter of the field and I would look for the poison bottles.

BubblemanRight? Because they weren't, they didn't have a guard. They didn't have a place to really get rid of them, you know? And I knew that. They weren't like, oh, we'll hide these. And so when I found them, I'd be like, man, like I'd be talking to my brother, like, dude, what are you doing? Well, we got the caterpillars, you know, what am I going to do? You know, let the whole field rot.

BubblemanIt's like... No, I get it. So you have this like sort of poverty aspect. It's not necessarily a profit aspect like, oh, I'm going to profit no matter what. But it's like, am I going to put food on the table for my family? So you get this much harder rock and a hard place than just, oh, I'm a kind of a bad player and I'm just I don't care.

BubblemanI'm going to do what I have to do. This guy's just grown this field for three months now. Caterpillars are going to consume it in three days. What's he going to do? Thank you for joining us.

BubblemanThank you for joining us.

Collin PalmerWe go through this in every single sector of this industry, you know, and whether you're making it a business or you're trying to put food on your table, you know, I think that's the tough place. You know, the analogy I drew when you pulled that out was like, well, some people's version of that is they're an investor. So I have to get this, you know, and it's like, well, do you?

Collin PalmerYou know, and then, you know, the education aspect, you know, thankful that you were there to be like, well, maybe you could use these other products that aren't poisonous. And, you know, here's a subset of products that could work, you know, and I think that's a healthy way to look at it, you know, because people are human. You know, we saw this in the States with Eagle 20.

Collin PalmerI mean, like, gosh, I mean, I'm sure it still goes on with some of these, you know, off the cuff spots, you know, that don't really know that you can't light Eagle 20 on fire, you know.

BubblemanI mean, listen, I was one of those people back in the day when legalization came to be and they were like, oh, like the weeds not safe. I was like, what are you talking about? I've been smoking this weed all these years. It's totally safe. And then after legalization, I'd start, you know, cruising around the gardens, going with Grandmaster LED and, you know, going to the garden in Maple Ridge and watching them spray pylon on everything.

BubblemanWith people in the room with no respirators, just like mama sans, these Vietnamese women just like working in the room, trimming and taking care of plants. I'm like, what the fuck? I leave with a pounding headache. I think I'm going to vomit. And I'm like, Holy fucking shit. Okay. I just saw that with my own eyes. I said, people are going to smoke. It was like 180 lights or something or 280.

BubblemanIt was a massive grow. And I was just like, oh my God, like they just had this giant 55 gallon barrel drum of fucking pylon and they don't. Give a fuck because they're not forced to give a fuck. Sometimes you have to force people to give a fuck. Otherwise they'll destroy the biome of the soil for the entire world and you won't be able to grow food anymore or they'll pollute the atmosphere to a degree of, you know, and I'm not talking about the fucking bullshit climate change.

BubblemanOh, carbon dioxide. Oh, it's, you know, it's we produce carbon dioxide and it's like, yeah. I'm talking about actual decimation of the soil from toxic poisons being put in or things that are clearly toxic and harmful to human beings. It'd be nice to see us... You know, move in the other direction. Like let's, let's, you know, I was amazed. I saw the other day, Pepsi had to take out these like cancer causing fucking petrochemical compounds from Doritos and some of their other products.

BubblemanObviously those products are pure and complete trash, but obviously you could make that without a fucking petrochemical oil. Obviously like what the fuck, what are we thinking?

Collin PalmerIt's all for profit. It's, you know, and science, you know, I think sometimes gets ahead of itself, especially in the food science, you know, world where they're like, oh, well, we can just control that and make these new compounds and It's fascinating. It just continues to happen.

BubblemanWell, it's funny, too, to hear people say, oh, what did this guy say? Find me someone who is anti-hemp, who doesn't work in the industry. It's like, well, I'm super pro-hemp. We started growing hemp a lot earlier than the US, and we actually grew it for the thing that it has the highest value for, which is the seed. It's a protein. There is no comparing protein To cannabis, protein is used by the entire fucking world, okay?

Bubbleman100% of the world needs to consume protein. They're essential amino acids, meaning they are needed by the body, but can't be produced. So there's no comparing. So when we started our hemp industry, and keep in mind, we still, Our hemp industry in Canada is grain. There's some people trying to do cloth and this and that, but grain, seed, that's the value. That's where you put the millions of acres and you ship it off to the world.

BubblemanAnd if you look, one of the most profitable hemp companies to ever exist was Manitoba Harvest and they sold for 419 million US dollars. And that was like Thank you so much for watching.

BubblemanThank you so much for joining us.

BubblemanYou know, as strong of a regulation that I guess people started doing sketchy things. I still, to this day, don't fully understand the sketch in the hemp industry, but I know the Delta aid and the, you know, the whole Dr. Mark narrative. It's pretty sketchy, dude.

Collin PalmerYeah. And, you know, guys, so anyone that's like in the chat wondering like, oh, do these guys even do the hemp thing? Well, yeah, I personally do. You know, I have products that are in pharmacies that I've made that are topicals. So I deeply understand it. And I know from what we do, we can go back to the row, to the plant, to the tag. And that's really how it should be done is the same way that we do it in a regulated system.

Collin PalmerAnd if you can't do that, and I, if you can't ask your producer where the cannabinoids came from, there's, you know, that's it. I think there is an issue with that.

BubblemanIt ties into, here's us, the self-righteous, like Sort of bitching about the lack of regulation in a market that sells the most toxic, deadly, poisonous recreational drugs on the planet. So radium 226 in your tobacco, alcohol, which kills healthy living tissue on contact, right? Those two alone. And then throw in pharmaceutical drugs, which they're like, look, we're so brazen. Let's just put the word harm right in the word pharma.

BubblemanWe'll just put the word harm right in there so that they know where we're coming from. I mean, this is the problem. You know, you get into that sort of dragonfly mentality of like just the righteousness of like health and regenerative and organic. And it's just like, it makes you feel good. Like you're like, yeah, this is the right path. And then on the flip side, you just got like, Obese people, chain smoking cigarettes, drinking two liters of Pepsi, chugging on Jack Daniels.

BubblemanIt's like, You're going to tell that person, you should be careful. That vape pen is so dangerous. Like, really, please be careful. In the meantime, they're like 180 pounds overweight. They're eating McDonald's for breakfast, dinner, and lunch. They're fucking smoking two packs of cigarettes. They're drinking JD and Pepsi or Coke, whatever you prefer. It's a weird hypocrisy that you kind of find yourself in where it's like, well, do people care?

BubblemanDo people even care?

Collin PalmerI ask that all the time, man. I really, I say, even, you know, with the stuff we do, you know, it's, it's, you know, matchmaking, you know, do people, it's such a small thing, right? And it's, it's often misconstrued a lot, you know, people misunderstand it indefinitely. And it's, yeah, I wonder, I wonder sometimes how many people do really care the way that we care. And the truth of it is not many, you know, and that's okay.

Collin PalmerBut that's why we're here to push the voice that we have, I think, and try to stand up for it.

Etienne FontanYeah.

Collin PalmerPeople do need to stand up for what's right, you know?

Etienne FontanThe few have always kind of taken that lead, right? The more you use cannabis, you tend to be more conscious, right, on our decisions and realizing that, oh, what is this? Oh, I'm smoking this. Okay, well, I shouldn't be smoking, but if I'm going to smoke something, it should probably be good and healthy. And that's why we're... Yeah. Frustrated, I think, by the hemp industry. And when I say hemp industry, I was in the old hemp industry.

Etienne FontanI was in the clothing fiber, you know, situation. So that's a completely different context than what I see from the CBD people, right? Again, I have nothing wrong with it. It is what it was. But you had the opportunity to lead by example. And when you do so, people follow. And what happened is a whole bunch of y'all decided to not lead by example. And you decided to cheat and to cut corners and to get your product line up, which you did.

Etienne FontanYou were successful for a time. But if you had stayed with quality and done everything properly and above board, I'm not sure we're here then. You know what I'm saying? Because if they had actually, you know, took it seriously and actually followed exactly what even we do in California, which I know is expensive and onerous and a pain in the ass to deal with. But, you know, why do we do it?

Etienne FontanBecause we needed to know what was in the products. What are we? Because we're dealing with patients. I can't have something that's going to kill my patients.

SpeakerYeah.

Etienne FontanI'm not going to compromise on lives all of a sudden because people forget we started this all from a health issue in the first place, which happened to be cancer and AIDS and especially the AIDS crisis. We came from because there was absolutely no access and then we were dealing with very, very sick people, very, very sick people coming and going and not even knowing if that's their last day when they come to see you, right?

Etienne FontanAnd realizing that that's why we have testing at least in America is because I got an upper respiratory infection and I realized that I had cancer and AIDS patients that I deal with and that if I had with my Gulf War illness got an upper respiratory infection and I got seriously ill from it that it could kill my cancer and AIDS patients that come to see me and I had to step out and make an ethical decision myself by spending millions of my hard earned dollars and put it into testing and pioneering testing because I realized quickly that if I didn't do it, I'm not sure I'm going to be happy with the results of what somebody else is doing.

BubblemanWell, and testing is a liability. It's holding you liable. You are liable for this product because we're testing it and not testing it is kind of like Do what you want. Just put whatever you want out there.

Etienne FontanWhen we started doing it, we got our city to pass an ordinance that everybody had to do it. Because the problem is that those that would fail would then take it right up the street to somebody else who wasn't testing. And of course, it looks all the bells and whistles, so they therefore buy it, but don't necessarily see the molds or the mildews that will actually come forward and people will get ill from.

BubblemanIt's interesting because up here we had it a little different. And when I say undermining, it's just a fact. It's not like I'm complaining. The hemp industry undermined the legal cannabis industry. It 100% did. Now, whether that was a good or bad thing, I'm not saying. Here in Canada, we had a different play on that because we didn't have the hemp scene. What we had was the indigenous hemp.

BubblemanAn indigenous woman, brilliant woman figured out, holy fuck, we don't have to follow the rules of like Canada. We're sovereign nation. So they own all sorts of properties and they started putting containers, 20 foot, 40 foot containers, very inexpensive, right in behind the gas stations because they would lease gas stations property right on the highways. Well, our one highway, as we say on South Park, Canada has one highway, the number one highway.

BubblemanIt's ridiculous, but it's true. It goes all the way across Canada. Anyway, there's gas stations and then there's these cannabis spots. And I remember I was doing product knowledge sessions for my own brand and I can't remember. I was in the Okanagan somewhere, maybe Peachland. And I'm driving and I start seeing signs and I'm like, what the fuck? And I'm like, cannabis up ahead. And I'm like, holy shit.

BubblemanLike, you don't understand, in the regulated cannabis world of Canada, we're not allowed to advertise, period. It is not allowed. And so I start seeing signs, weed sold here, weed sold here, and I don't realize it's indigenous. I get to the shop, and I'm like, holy shit, like, you guys are allowed to have signs? Well, you should see the guy's face. The guy's like this. Right. I'm like, oh, maybe I touched the nerve.

BubblemanAnd he's like, he's like, no, that's the that's the indigenous. They're completely undermining our business.

Etienne FontanI got to pay thirty thousand dollars for this license and I got to do this.

BubblemanAnd he's just bitching and moaning and whining. And I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. First of all, listen. Those signs led me right to your place, so it's working in your favor. Second of all, the shit we did to the indigenous people over the course of the last several hundred years, let's let them have this, okay? Let's not get into too much detail, but maybe they can have this.

BubblemanAnd I also suggested to all the people who had stores who felt like the indigenous people were undermining their business, which in a sense, it was true, they were able to advertise. They were able to sell more than an ounce. They were able to sell more than 10 milligrams in gummies. So this was like a massive bonus for the weed people. And what I told every one of them was, dude, everyone in Canada overnight got a license to do cannabis business and activism died because those licenses now needed to be protected.

Etienne FontanThey're going to protect my license.

BubblemanI can't be like out on the front lines anymore. Well, guess who is out on the front lines in Canada? The indigenous, the indigenous people are now the activists for cannabis. So, you know, you've got fucking a bunch of white people going, they need to follow our rules. And I'm like, no, our rules suck. We need to follow their rules. Let's get behind them and promote them and promote the way they're doing it so that eventually the government sees we can't have these two systems operating in the same space.

BubblemanThank you so much for joining us.

BubblemanYou know, lobbying these native groups and they're like, hey, why don't you come over here to our side? Like, we'll let you into the federally regulated. And I'm like warning each one of those groups, do not fucking do that. We want to come to your side. And maybe that's the case with hemp. Maybe now that hemp has got a year to figure it out, maybe all of the rec people and the medical people will gather with the right hemp people, not the bad players, because there's bad players in all three of those groups.

BubblemanAnd maybe they'll figure out a way to promote and get access and get this because the hemp rules were amazing. I wish I operated under the hemp rules. I mean, holy shit, they made life like 100 times more easy compared to recreational but that is what it is. We are doing what we're doing. Just trying to read the chat because we got a lot of chatters going on.

BubblemanI do have kind of some good news. I got an announcement to make. Should I make an announcement?

SpeakerYeah, dude.

BubblemanAll right. So yesterday I got an email from Homeland Security and Homeland Security has given me permission to come to America for one year. I have a waiver. I had no idea. It's a waiver to do business and pleasure. And it's a waiver that is not only in my name, Marcus Gary Robert Richardson, but it's also in the name of my business, Bubble Man Brand Limited. I got a waiver to come do work in America under the Bubble Man brand company.

BubblemanI cannot tell you how fucking excited I am, bro. Like, it is insane. I've had so many people like, when you come to Michigan, when you come to Chicago, when you come into Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon, New York, Massachusetts, like, holy shit, California. Hell yeah, dude. Dude, thank you, America. I will not let you down. I will respect your laws. I will respect the people. I will respect the ways.

BubblemanAnd I'm just so, so happy. Almost 30 years, 28 and a half years since I've been into the U.S. So it's a pretty big fucking deal for me.

Collin PalmerWe got to make some hash. That's the bottom line. I'm going to save a freezer just for this.

BubblemanYeah, yeah. Funny, Chimera's in the chat room going, oh shit, I thought he revealed already. Spoiler, Chimera's been telling everyone my news. Good on you, buddy. Dragonfly Medicine called me yesterday. They're like, did you get a waiver? I'm like, how the fuck do you know? We're with Chimera. I'm like, oh, Chimera's sharing my news, is he? God bless him. It's going to get out. Yeah, of course.

BubblemanI want him to. I want everyone to. I just said it on Hashtag, so spoiler alert. I got a fucking waiver to come to America. I'm so freaked out and tripped out. I'm just like, man, I have never been more, I guess, honored that I'm like allowed to come to America. And I get that you guys just take it for granted. You know, you live in America, but like when you are not allowed to come to America for 30 years, it's kind of a big fucking deal, man.

Collin PalmerIt is a big deal. It's kind of it's so awesome, dude. And so so happy for you. That's awesome.

BubblemanThis long, though, man, fuck took 11 months, took 11 months, and they told me it would be originally eight to 10 months. And as it got closer, they said it's getting pushed back a little more. It's now 10 to 12 months. I talked to my lawyer yesterday. He said, Don't worry, you got you got yourself one year. He said it used to be a year. To redo your waiver, just to renew it, which is a fraction of the cost because all the documents are already organized.

BubblemanSo he was telling me that a little while ago, I would have had to renew my waiver like right now. I would have to start the day that I got it. But he said right now they're working on doing it much, much faster. He says immigration is like streamlining in America right now, and they're able to do it in three to four months. To do a re renewal of of the waiver.

BubblemanSo like I said, I am just going to be on my best behavior. I just want to come and hang out with all of you guys. I want to go down there and meet, you know, meet up with all my partners. I want to make hash and all my labs. I want to visit all the stores. I'm fucking ecstatic. I'm not gonna lie. I am fucking ecstatic.

BubblemanSo when does the Bubble Man Tour begin? Well, I'm thinking MJ Biz Conference on December 12th. I got a whole crew going down there. We're all going to stay at the same place. Most of my partners are going to be down there. It is very much like a Chad event, but I've never been to Vegas. I hate Vegas. I don't even want to go to Vegas, but that's where I'm going to go, I think, for the first time.

BubblemanNow it's possible that I just get in my vehicle and drive over the border and end up, you know, down in Washington visiting some friends or go down and meet my partner in Oregon before that. But with how busy I am and all the trip traveling I have to do, I think the most likely trip for me will be MJ Biz Conference in Vegas in December. I'll be at the Sambo Creek Filtration hash making event and I'll just be, you know, all around.

BubblemanSo if you got, you know, nice dabs and you want to have a dab, you want to fucking chill out with the bubble man in America, I would like to do that. I would love to do that, in fact.

Collin PalmerOh, wow. Yeah. Giving me more of a reason to go to Vegas this year, my man.

BubblemanYeah, it's like, you know what? You just do it legal. You just do it legal. People for years have been like, I can get you into the country. I'm like, bro, listen, I've traveled to almost over 30 countries at this point in time. And one thing I will say, which is wild to me, that in the US, there seems to be this issue with immigrants versus illegal immigrants.

BubblemanIf I go to any fucking country in the world without my passport and sneak in, I get kicked out. That is just the way it works. You're not allowed to go to countries without fucking going there the right way. And I had no interest in going to the US the wrong way. I want to make sure that I have all my T's crossed and I's dotted and that I'm like allowed.

BubblemanAnd it's crazy because my waiver is a pre-approved entry. It's like, doesn't mean the guy can't say no, right? Like you could get caught with something you're not supposed to have. You can still be denied, but it's a pre-approved waiver from Homeland Security. I can't tell you how trippy and weird that is. I'm framing it. I'm framing it next to my federal cannabis license here in Canada because it's probably the second most important document I've ever received in my life.

BubblemanAnd it's wild because all my... Sort of leftist friends are like, you can't go to America. And I'm like, I'm absolutely going to America, bro. Like, are you fucking kidding me? Like, what are you talking about? There's amazing people down there doing amazing things and I need to be with them. I need to go sit with Etienne and Caleb and I need to go puff bowls with Colin and I need to go see Safita in Brooklyn and, you know, my new partners in Massachusetts, maybe go see Chemdog.

BubblemanHow fun. Thank you so much for joining us.

BubblemanThank you for watching.

BubblemanI could literally leave. Well, I can't because I'm flying to Montreal, but I could if I wanted to. I could just drive down to that facility, which, of course, I am. I'm going to do. I am going to come down there.

Etienne FontanI've never been so excited to come to the US, you know, broadcasting then from MJBiz.

BubblemanDo some. Yeah, I'll do some for sure. Maybe a hash church if it's a Sunday. I imagine it is.

Etienne FontanHash church. Wow.

BubblemanA little hash church from MJ Biz. I mean, shit, dude. How far is Vegas from Cali? What's that like a...

Etienne FontanIt depends on which. Cali is huge. It's a solid day to drive.

BubblemanTen hours? Eight hours? Not far. You have to understand, I'm from Canada. When you say Cali is huge, we're like...

BubblemanIt takes me 70 hours to drive across the country. And then you get to a ferry that takes 16 hours that takes you to Newfoundland. And then it takes another 19 hours to drive to the other side of Newfoundland. So it's just the most outrageously huge, obnoxiously huge country. So it's like for me, like a 10 hour drive is like, dude, that's like totally doable.

Collin PalmerCome on down then. Come on down then. You should come down to Cali for sure. It'd be great. You should definitely go to Bellingham. That's like, I remember calling you when we were up doing the thing at Scotty Depp's spot, that mothership. And you're like, dude, you could like just, I'm like an hour, two hours. You said you were two hours or something?

BubblemanNo, no, no, no, no, no, no. Those guys from Bellingham used to get to my house in under an hour. And that was with the border crossing. I was just like looking at it.

Collin PalmerI was like, this looks like Marcus's house. It's crazy. And you're like, you're like, cause it is Colin.

BubblemanYeah. Maybe I'll go see the mothership crew. They're the closest to be honest. Not that I have a super close relationship with the mothership crew in any way, shape or form, but Hey, what better way to make one?

Etienne FontanI toured that for years ago and it was amazing what they had created. It's definitely worth the tour. And, you know, he definitely show you around and show you his work.

BubblemanYeah, I mean, you know, we bump into each other. We say hi. You know, we're not like super close friends by any means. I bumped into him in Spain the last time and we chatted at the Puffco booth for a little bit. We were both getting laced up by Chelsea. And then I bumped into him at like Heady Happenings in Vancouver, just on the street. It was actually hilarious.

BubblemanWe were both walking. He was leaving and I was showing up. We were both alone and we bumped into each other on like, like, And I was like, Scott? And I can't remember if he recognized me. I was like, oh, dude, it's Bubble Man. He's like, oh, what's up, dude? And it was kind of our first time meeting in person, which is crazy because Scott was in our art show, mine and Slinger's art show back in 2003, The Degenerate Art.

BubblemanMaybe it was 2004. Oh, three or four. The first show, Scott had an amazing piece. In fact, crazily enough, I own that piece. So it was this beautiful fucking piece with like a fucking bird foot. And then it was like a totem pole that he had carved into the glass. The glass was all carved. This was way back in the day when he was kind of having his problems.

BubblemanHe wasn't in a good space. And I paid him cash and I paid him bags. And he sent me a message like months later saying this isn't enough. I'm going to need more bags or more cash. In his defense, he probably wasn't wrong. I got that pipe for a steal. But I was in a weird place at the time. I think. I can't remember if my dad had just passed away.

BubblemanIt's possible. But I basically said, oh, you want more money? Okay, I'll just wrap the piece up and send it to you. And I just gave him the piece back and let him keep the money and the bags that I gave him prior to that. So kind of a stupid move on my part. I've never seen another Scott Debbie piece anything like this piece. I've never seen this piece.

BubblemanI don't know if he still has it in his collection. But it was kind of a dumb move on my part. And I used to do things like that where people would... I just get offended. And I'd be really super sensitive to how offended I got. And I would just like push the offense like beyond where it needed to be pushed. I could have probably just said, Hey, dude, we made the deal.

BubblemanYou know, maybe I'll send you another 500 bucks, blah, blah, blah. This is way before Scott had a name for himself. Like nobody knew who he was. He was a new glassblower. He really hadn't done anything yet that was mind blowing, but he was about to in the next six months. So keeping that pipe, I mean, that pipe probably would have sold for $20,000. Thank you so much for joining us.

BubblemanI was like, what's up, dudes? Ended up smoking bowls with a few people on the street and then just went our separate ways. But yeah, maybe I'll have to go say hi to Mr. Scott.

Collin PalmerYou should. It's a dope spot. It's a really dope spot. I mean, I got my mothership that I got from him that he insisted that I not leave without one, which was awesome because... The he has all these vaults. He has like a vault wall of vaults and he just like opens them up. And it's just that one caught my eye.

BubblemanYeah.

Collin PalmerAnd he's got so much amazing work in there. And it's great for me from an art point of view to see process. And they have such like it's just you see all the pieces and all their different forms and You know, like some of them just started the stem and some of them have like the egg fab. You got to stack them. You can see them all next to each other.

Collin PalmerAnd I love seeing process like that because it shows how much goes into making all of this, you know, all the different sections of these pieces. And it's awesome. It's just really cool to see insight into their minds, you know, like where they're headed with the piece.

BubblemanAnd Scott's mind is different. Like no one does it like Scott. No one put together a mothership. Like he's an anomaly, clearly. I mean, listen, back then when we were doing that show, there were countless artists that were... Their names were well above his, you know, from Amber Pellegrini, who did the double bubbler DJ, you know, with the breakdancing chillum, the black girl with the afro. She was a chillum, but she was breakdancing.

BubblemanAll of Amber's had jewelry, necklaces, rings, bracelets, like fucking real actual headphones that went over like just crazy shit. You know, the diamonds.

Collin PalmerI mean, even the diamond bottom banger that needs to be cleaned here. That's that's I remember seeing that at his spot in Bellingham for the first time. I don't know, a few years ago. And it just holds heat so well for full melt. And it's it was such an awesome experience. I was just like, oh, man, I got to get one of those one day. And I finally had an opportunity to.

Collin PalmerAnd it's it's I highly recommend it. Those that can get them to make you one.

BubblemanOh, yeah.

Collin PalmerThey're awesome.

BubblemanHard to clean the oil out of those ridges, but you need a dunk tank for sure.

Collin PalmerYeah, it's on the bottom actually, like extrudes on the bottom. It's like it goes out. Nice. You can kind of see the... Yeah, yeah, the little dip. Yeah, but it's flat in the inside. It doesn't dip. It doesn't fall on the bottom like that. Cool.

Collin PalmerBut yeah, Scotty's work's amazing. It's really, really an honor to see it all. It was really cool.

BubblemanAbsolutely. Some pretty incredible glassblowers. Well, like I said, I got a waiver to go to America now. Maybe I'll just drive on down and be like, hey, Scott, fucking, you know, sorry about the weirdness. Sorry about the weirdness, bro.

Collin PalmerI can't wait to see you. I can't wait to see you, man, in the United States. It's going to be so awesome.

BubblemanNow it's really just a matter of planning where to go first and how to figure out the tour because I got about three months I need to spend down there right now and obviously I'm not going to... Thank you so much for joining us.

Collin PalmerI'll come to Vegas. I have a ticket already, so I'll go now. I was going to knock out. I was like, I'm not going. Who's going? I don't know anybody. I'm going to meet all my partners, dude.

BubblemanAll my Bubble Man partners, bro. It's quite something. We got some fucking crazy things going on right now with the brand, dude. I can't even say all the shit, but it's coming together nicely. Yeah, I'm going to come help make some hash. Exactly what I'm going to do. I'm going to make hash in every single one of my labs that is currently down there. So I got to go to Missouri.

BubblemanI got to go to Maryland. If those guys get their shit together, I got to go to Illinois. I got to go to Oklahoma. I got to go to New Mexico, Colorado, Oregon. I think there's eight of them. I'm missing one for sure. It's weird when you get too many that you can't remember one anymore. But so lots of different people, lots of different great people to, yeah, road trip.

BubblemanLet's do a road trip. Maybe I'll get a big Winnebago and just drive across the country with a Winnebago and just let anyone who wants to like join with dabs join. If you have like high quality dabs, it'll be like the legends of Winnebago. It's like you only get let in if the hash is good enough.

Collin PalmerWinter Tour. There it is. Winter Tour.

Etienne FontanBeware of wind. Get the smaller. Low profile. Those things are sales out there.

BubblemanDude. Dude. I've seen them exploded on the side of the highway. Like, just like, it's like, what is that, like lumber on the side of the road? It's like, no, that was a Winnebago. Completely gone. Like a semi just drove right through it. It's like... Wow. Okay. Yeah. Maybe that they don't look so strong when they're like destroyed on the side of the road. They really are just a big box.

Etienne FontanEverything is rated for 72 uses in those things. So they just have to outlast 70. What is that?

BubblemanThat is some hash that I made about three months ago. So I've been curing it in this ball. It's neon sunshine. So it has a decent smell. Although you can really see if you know hash, this thing has created a skin. You know, I haven't cracked it open. It's funny because I think I showed it to Chimera the other day. I think I showed him this one and he was fucking awesome.

BubblemanHe was like Frenchie Cannoli. He finger fucked this thing. He ripped it right fucking open. I was like, oh wow. He's like, he's like, oh my God, it smells so good. I'm like, I bet, dude, it hasn't been cracked in two months. He's like, oh shit, sorry. I'm like, no, no, no, dude, just, I want to smell it as much as you do. But I literally took it and like rolled it right back into a, into a, into a bowl, a ball.

Collin PalmerAll right, let's go to the next one.

BubblemanWe're going to go to the next one. We're going to go to the next one.

Collin PalmerWe're going to go to the next one. We're going to go to the next one.

BubblemanWe're going to go to the next one.

BubblemanThe story about Frenchie Cannoli finger fucking his hash. And anyone that knows Frenchie, Frenchie needed to finger fuck everyone's hash. That was Frenchie's like, if you thought Frenchie was ooh la la, Dude, you didn't meet him. You only ever saw him on a screen because if you knew Frenchie, you knew what he was really about was getting his fingers into your hash. Made me laugh, to be honest.

BubblemanI always thought it was great. His passion for hash.

Etienne FontanBecause he was old school. Yeah. He hand rubbed it. So, I mean, that's his thing. I mean, he had all kinds of extra feel in his hands. You know what I'm saying?

BubblemanWell, in your honor, Frenchie, ooh la la. I'm rolling the hash in my hands. And yes, my hands are very clean. Very, very clean. Keeping them clean. Oh, my God. I love hash. I can't wait to come down to the U.S. and enjoy hash. Oh, my God. So good.

Collin PalmerI've got so much stuff to share with you in the freezer. Oh, my God. Can't wait.

BubblemanDude, I'm telling you, I don't think I've ever smoked anything of yours, Colin.

Collin PalmerNo, that's not true. Remember we... Remember Legends 3?

BubblemanOkay. Legends 3. Yes.

Collin PalmerI was able to get you a little something.

BubblemanI remember.

Collin PalmerSomeone was linking up with you.

BubblemanI ended up getting like 10 different kinds. And they were like 0.2 of a gram. So I can't say that I remember exactly which one was yours. I do remember the burger was fucking phenomenal.

Collin PalmerAnd I think it won Legends. It was those Oklahoma guys. I gave you, um, no, I gave him enough. I gave, I, I pulled him aside and I was like, here's a jar. This is, this is Marcus's. Cause I, it has to be, it's definitely, it was definitely more than a 0.3. Cause I, I pulled out the jar. Yeah. It was definitely a white jar like that too.

BubblemanCause I didn't have any black ones left. Because all of the legends of hash three jars were these jars.

Collin PalmerYeah, so I didn't have a black one, so I just filled it as much as I... I remember just like sticking as much as I could in there. Ah, the legends. The legends.

BubblemanWell, I've never smoked your hash with you, so... Yes. I mean, you got to admit, it's been like almost 30 years. That's kind of criminal. It is criminal, dude.

Collin PalmerIt's great. Well, because we come together in all these different places, and either by the time I see you, it's gone, or... We don't have any because we're in a place that we can't, you know, travel with it.

BubblemanSomeone just asked me, where will B-Man find the best hash in America? Probably about five minutes after the border. If I was a betting man.

Collin PalmerOh, I think we've got some stuff in the freezers for you. Oh, dude, that's my favorite. I love stuff in the freezer. It's just sitting there waiting for you, buddy.

SpeakerOoh, ooh, ooh.

Collin PalmerThat's great. It's good air dry. Oh, yeah. This is six star.

BubblemanSix star. Planet Popot, Planet Bang Bang. It's the blueberry cross. And then this one is just straight GMO. Like just garlic, garlic, garlic. It's garlic, bro. It is like thiol goodness. That looked like a piece of contaminant, but it was the name on the bottom. I was like, what the fuck is black in my hash? This hash is the kind of hash that when you see, you make your orgasm face.

BubblemanSo good. So good. Oh, yeah. USA Tour. I vote Michigan personally. Michigan very well may be one of the first places I end up. It's one of the more advanced places for my brand, although I will say Colorado hopscotch jumped over them in the last few months. We have an amazing fucking team in Colorado, so I'm really looking forward to that. I just want to cut this hash.

BubblemanThe day I cut this hash in half, I'll probably do it around six months to a year. And I'm just going to cut it right in half, crack it open. And just, you know, people that only smoke flour can never really know the joy of aging hash and it doesn't work with rosin so much once you've you know you need those you need that skin to protect the hash okay it's the skin that protects the hash that could be those wax membranes maybe it's fats and lipids i don't pretend to know exactly i've never scraped the hash off the skin and tested it versus the hash in the middle maybe i'll do that in my valenveras when i cut this hash open but There's something very important about having a skin on your hash and creating that outer layer that just protects.

BubblemanWhen I smell this, I can smell the flavor profile, but it's locked inside. I can tell that that skin is now curing the hash on the inside. It's not the outside so much, but it's that piece on the inside that's just like easy baking. So enjoyable to crack a ball like this. It's about a 50 gram ball, just to give you guys an idea. This one is about 100 grams.

BubblemanYou can see kind of the difference in sizes. They don't look hugely different in size, but this one is definitely double, double the weight. And this one's triple burger. This one is the triple burger. It's interesting when you make the hash properly that it'll stay like this really forever. And the difference between these balls and the balls that, you know, Frenchie cannoli, He was making hash out of like 60 plus percent THC, okay?

BubblemanBubble hash. So when you take bubble hash and you just, if I took that bubble hash that I just showed you in the powder and I rolled it into my fingers, I could turn it into a beautiful ball in seconds. This is not that. This is a 30% THC that was made from dry sift that was made from trim. And so it's traditional hash is very, very, very different Then 60 to 70% bubble hash.

BubblemanNo one ever made traditional hash with bubble hash really until Frenchy Cannoli come along. He was kind of the first person to do it. And I liked the way he melted those two worlds. He brought those two worlds together. For me, I keep them a bit more separate. I appreciate the roots of traditional hash, but I know traditional hash was never, ever 70% THC ever in the history of traditional hash.

BubblemanTraditional hash is probably more around the 20, Thank you for watching.

BubblemanWhat was the moisture content to get it like that? Well, Benjamin, the moisture content is literally almost non-existent. You want it to be dry. Dry sifting is not a misnomer. You want to shrink the heads so they're like little raisins, not like those big, Thank you so much for watching.

BubblemanI do a specific process, my SOPs, there's about three things I do in a row to make it so the hash stays like this forever. I don't keep this cool, by the way, this stays at room temperature. If it had too much moisture in it, it would probably mold in the plastic bag that I've been keeping it in. And I keep it in. I don't necessarily seal the bag as much, but I do keep it in the bag because the hash is sticky and I don't want hair and dust and things that are just falling to end up on the hash.

BubblemanAnd trust me, it does end up on the hash. So I just have all the hash in a little... And a little guy like this. There's all sorts of balls. This is a nice one. We've shown quite a few times. This is the Cuban Lynx ball, which is a little bit harder.

Etienne FontanOh, gosh, I thought that was on the show there. What's that? Getting a little glassy on the show there.

BubblemanYeah, a little bit glassy. And I just pulled off one of my own hairs that was on there. So you got to be careful with it.

BubblemanThank you so much for joining us.

BubblemanAnd they're a nice way. I like the Moroccan because it's got that long foot long plus chamber that really does magically cool the vapor dash smoke as you're inhaling it into into your lungs. Yeah, that's chimera talking about in there. What's going on by you, Caleb? How's how are things?

SpeakerThings are good. Dominic and I are finishing up our interviews by the end of the year and going to get on to analysis and writing. Oh my gosh, ATN's bringing something out.

BubblemanHe's got the sepsi. That's the two part.

Etienne FontanIt's from Morocco and I have a three-parter too.

BubblemanDo you have the goat piece that it goes into, the little leather piece that it slides into? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Beautiful. I have them too, but I don't know. They're up there somewhere with all this other shit. I got a whole thing of like, you know, shit from India and pipes and there's a Shiva statue and I think there's a lamp up there from Pedro Smiley and one of Marcel Braun's orbs.

BubblemanA little collection of stuff up there. But the sepsis is a nice pipe, man. That's like a nice chill. Also, the bowl is tiny. It fits just the smallest piece of hash. It's kind of the polar opposite. It speaks volumes to the quality of hash because it's wild. It's like in Afghanistan, they have bowls that fit 15 to 20 grams of hash. And in Morocco, they're puffing on these little like...

Etienne FontanYeah, I have a custom glass subsea piece.

BubblemanYeah, that's a little bigger than a regular.

Etienne FontanOh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I have the others too, which they're tiny. But they're soapstone. So if you try to force it, they just pop so easy. So you got to really be gentle with it.

BubblemanWell, the original ones are clay and they just break so easy. And you sit around and you're puffing bowls and you're just throwing these clay bowls away into a pile. And at the end of the day, you can pour water on them and you can mush them back up and you can literally make a bunch more. It was like when I was in India at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Haridwar.

BubblemanThey were doing it with clay cups. We were drinking chai tea all day on the banks of the Ganges and one more chillum we are making. And we would throw our cups into this pile. And at the end of the night, as i'd leave i'd see the dude right that was taking care of this camp for these babas he'd start pouring water from the ganges over these clay cups getting them all wet and smashing them up into pieces and eventually he'd turn them back into clay and then form like 50 cups Overnight, and in the morning, we'd have a whole fresh variety of cups.

BubblemanI was like, holy fuck, like, that's definitely a different way of doing things. Like I could have just brought my metal cup and drank out of that the whole time. But I like your style, India, you know, just doing the impossible. Like who the fuck in their right mind would have ever come up with that system? I appreciated it. Not gonna lie. I think it might be time for a little dab.

BubblemanI don't, I'm scared to get too ripped because I have an important trip and it's like the worst thing to do would be to go to the airport and be like, oh my God, I forgot the most important thing, which at this point in time, I don't even know what is the most important thing. I really don't. Me, me, I guess. Yeah, I'm going to get my, my Puffco one sec.

SpeakerWe'll get extra ripped for you.

Collin PalmerYeah, I'm already there. I'm going to join you one more time.

SpeakerI'll see y'all at MJ Biz. Yeah, you're going to be there? Yeah.

Collin PalmerOh, shit.

SpeakerI just got done judging for the MJ Bowl. Awesome.

BubblemanAnd how was that? Pretty decent? Pretty decent.

SpeakerSo that'll be fun out there. The MJ Bowl. Smoke some of the winners too.

Collin PalmerWhat was memorable? Would you, what flavors? So, like...

SpeakerYou know, like most of the competitions, it ends up as really like only like four families of flower that make it in. And also like the timing of the competition, where it is in the year also ends up shaking out like how much is indoor, how much is outdoor, how much is mixed light. But I can say for sure that like I saw some interesting fruity stuff and it's definitely still mostly gelato and fruit.

SpeakerThank you for watching.

SpeakerBut the biggest family is still that gelato kind of cakey and the things. Got it.

Collin PalmerI mean, listen, it's still good stuff. It's just there's a big color wheel out there, right?

SpeakerThere is.

Collin PalmerI wonder how the New York was.

BubblemanPeople like what they like. That's the thing, right? There's a big color wheel out there, and most people like it. Like specific, you know, like how many people drink Coke or Pepsi? It's like how many beverages are out there? It's like, Jesus Christ, guys, there's a lot of beverage. Wow, I like Pepsi and I like Coke. It's like, well, what about orange juice? What about lemonade? What about?

BubblemanYeah, it is the weirdest thing how people just focus on the things they like.

Collin PalmerYeah, well, I thought about it, you know, a lot over the years, and I still distill it down to the primary colors, right? Like, there's so much, right? But then there's the primary colors, right? And that's, I think, where we've kind of landed. And it's... Hey, I know all about the primary colors. I know. Hey, listen... I didn't even think about that. Set the bar there.

BubblemanNow in all of our packaging, we use those colors sort of subconsciously. In the lower grade products, I use blue and green and red. And as we get into better products, it's orange and black and yellow.

Collin PalmerYou know, the bags, the representation. It trips me out to use other, like I used another company's bag set the other day and I literally had to restack the bags again because I'm so trained to the bubble bags. What the fuck, dude?

BubblemanYou're cheating on me? Is that what you just said?

Collin PalmerI went, and it's funny because we used the bag sets. Colin's cheating on me. I went back to the ball bag. Make sure I go see him first when I get to the US. The second wash because I couldn't handle it. I was like, I can't handle not having the colors. I have too much intuitive, like, you know, I don't know. I couldn't. I went back. But it was really funny because we were laughing like.

Collin PalmerMistakes can be made if you don't pay attention, man. I almost made a mistake. It was really funny. Yeah, well, that's what you get for fucking using the wrong bags, dude. What the fuck? Listen, I'm coming clean.

BubblemanI would accept the press club. You can use the press club bags.

Collin PalmerThat's it. Oh, you know what? I got to shout out the press club if you're cool with that because they sent me a package. Thank you guys so much. It's so awesome that you guys did that. It really helps me a lot and helps Vessel a lot. So thank you guys. Big, big love. Yeah, they're fucking awesome, dude. Yeah.

BubblemanThey are good folks. Yeah, I'm trying to get this going. I think my Puffco is dying. I, you know, I didn't charge this one fast enough, but I got it plugged in now. And I wonder, can you take charged Puffco dabs? Like when it's dead, can you just plug it in and rip it as a plugged in? Well, then that's the best thing ever. Gotta give it a couple seconds though.

BubblemanI did. I gave it literally a couple of seconds and now it's ripping.

Collin PalmerWorks great. Although I think I did damage my battery doing that too much, but whatever. They sent me a new one. Thank you, Puffco, by the way, for sending me a new bass. Under warranty.

Etienne FontanI treat them pretty good. Going old school with a joint.

BubblemanDamn, I haven't smoked a joint in a long time. I have this beautiful bud here that was given to me called Please Wash Me. So good. And it's super dense. Let's see if I can get the camera to focus. It's really nice fucking weed.

Collin PalmerIt's very, it has like a haze kind of sour vibe to it. Yeah, but it's got like this.

BubblemanI can't even explain the smell, dude. It is so funky.

BubblemanIt's tempted me to roll. It's like gassy, garlicky, funky.

Collin PalmerThey scat all funky.

BubblemanMusky, musky, almost like a hash plant. Almost like, like to me when I smell that plant, I think it's strong. That's going to be a strong washer. You know, it's not fruit. It's like the opposite end of the spectrum from fruit. There's no fruit in that whatsoever. But it's quite lovely.

Collin PalmerYeah, it's great. We need more nasty gas.

BubblemanI'm all about all of it, you know, like the novelty of just like finding things that are different and, you know, weird and trippy. I'm, that's kind of what I'm here for in this cannabis industry. I suspect, you know, we're going to end up with specific flavors that are the sort of, you know, the main flavors that people love. And I think within that, you know, the, the, The Huckleberry Farms and the Selina Dienes and these novel experiences are going to be available as well.

BubblemanAnd that's kind of. I mean, I said it years ago. I'll know that legalization has attained the proper level, the proper bar when I can go into almost any shop and just buy like 10 grams of haze, full melt, dry sift. When I can do that, we have acquired what we need. We're good. We're solid. Everyone's got like, trust me, if I can go buy 10 grams of that, then the access has expanded dramatically.

Collin PalmerYeah, we can't... Every state's different. I know you think Michigan, you think you can do buckets, but... We can. And you can do deli style in Michigan. Did you know that? No, that's pretty awesome because that's... You can do deli style hash buckets, bro.

BubblemanYou can go in and be like, I want five grams.

Collin PalmerYeah. And the quality is getting so good. I stopped into a spot and got a gram of something from... I can't remember even who. I had to find the jar, but it was really good. I was like, this is awesome that I can go and buy this. You know, like... I was like completely out in the middle of a five-hour road trip. And I was like, this is sick that I just can go pop in and grab this, you know?

BubblemanWell, it's also the greatest thing, like from my perspective, like I wouldn't have gone down to the US if I couldn't like get cannabis. Like I just, I want to be able to get it and not just like go to my friend's house. I want to be able to get it. Like, From all over the place. I want to see different people's representations of cannabis down the coast, you know, into the interior.

BubblemanIt's just a cool thing that I have been cut off from for so long. Yeah, we're allowed to do like eight to 10 gram bars of hash in our tins in Michigan. You can do like a large bar of hash, which is like, dude, that is what's up.

Collin PalmerBeing able to buy amounts. Yeah, we can do, I think you can buy that much. I don't think we're allowed to do packaged goods. Okay. In New York? In, yeah, in New York, Mass, or even Maine. I don't think you're allowed to, you think you're allowed to do, there's a limit. Um, per package. So you could buy it as a consumer up to like, I think, uh, an ounce of, of concentrate, but you couldn't buy a single package that says 28 grams on it of hash.

Collin PalmerSo, um, but still, I guess, uh, we're getting close, you know, like, I think it's, it's common, you know, and that's what I'm getting at. It's like, it's kind of awesome that we're even able to do that. Like,

BubblemanDude, are you kidding me? I think people forget about prohibition. I really do. I think that they're just like, they forget that people did like decades in prison for just like what we're talking about and doing.

Collin PalmerDude, I... I, you know, look, I spent a lot of time in New York City before it was even remotely legal. And it was, people got arrested for coming out of a studio trying to smoke, like, light up a, barely light up a, I watched someone barely light up a joint and get arrested by an undercover cop, like, snap of the finger. Oh, God, that used to happen like crazy.

Collin PalmerThey were just going right, they went for the night. And it's just, people forget, man. Like, it's, it was really not okay. Like, You know, it's just, it was a totally different world, man. So, yeah.

BubblemanWell, that's because we worked hard to change the world we live in. That's the whole purpose, right? ATN is always talking about that. Get out there, get off your ass, fucking do something. Jesus Christ, you can't just, you know, you got to do something. And listen, making a post on Facebook, that ain't it. And I'm sorry, making a cardboard sign and standing somewhere on the side of the road, that ain't it either.

BubblemanThese are not ways of gaining respect. You don't want to go in and like cause dissent and riots and problems. You got to go in. You got to find out who the right people to talk to. And some of these people just have random offices and government buildings. And that's where you got to find yourself. You know, you got to find yourself with the right people And fucking, you know, we learned this with hemp in Manitoba.

BubblemanDo you think we like went on the streets and protested in Winnipeg for weed? Like, no, we went and talked to our minister of agriculture. He was in charge of farming. Who the fuck else would you talk to? Oh, I'm going to go close the street down on Main Street and make sure everyone sees my signs and make them all late for work. It's like you're a prick.

BubblemanYou should just go to the fucking dude who actually can tell you you can do this. We went to his office. Do you know how many times we went to the minister's office before we got a license to grow hemp?

Collin PalmerI bet. I mean, one time. It highlights ATN. You went once.

Etienne FontanI wish it were that easy. That's crazy. That's an anomaly.

BubblemanBut dude, it was all thanks to Jack, man. I'll never forget it. We called. We had a little binder. Our presentation was so welfare. We were totally dreaded out and reeked like weed. We got super high before we went in there, just potentiating every cannabis stereotype you could possibly fucking create. And then walk into the office of this like Bible thumping Midwest fucking, you know, minister, Joe Strady.

BubblemanIn fact, he was actually a really nice guy. His name was Harry Enns. Anyway, we sit there, you know, I probably look like I'm 11 years old, actually. Because I'm 17 or something. And I'm with my mentor, Martin Moravchik. And he's, you know, he was the founder of Manitoba Harvest. He's, you know, he's all animated. He's like, here's our presentation. And the guy turns the book around and he looks at it and it says, the trillion dollar crop.

BubblemanAnd he just, he goes, guys, Thank you for watching.

BubblemanAnd it's, of course, the 1932 Popular Mechanics, billion dollar crop, cover of the magazine, first time billion and dollar have ever been used in an economic statement. And it's in regards to hemp. And so once we explain that to Harry Enns, he's like, billion in 1932? He's like, what the fuck? Because he just, when he saw the trillion, he admitted later it annoyed him because it wasn't a number that was, keep in mind, this was 1990 fucking four.

BubblemanSaying trillion in 1994 was like saying a gazillion today. Nobody knows how many zeros that is. They just don't. And so it kind of sounded like we were being absurd. Anyway, it was very short period of time. Once we showed them the THC law, 0.3%, the fact that we had the Zola Tinosha from the Ukraine, it was very quickly accepted. And I think that's because there were no loopholes.

BubblemanThere were no like tricks. There were no like, it was just like, we're just trying to grow hemp and prove that there's a value. And we grew it for three years as an experimental crop. Right out of our own pocket, the costs. Before Canada changed the law in 1998, From experimental to commercial. And that just meant you could now make money doing it. And that's when the whole hemp seed thing started.

BubblemanThat's when the Bobbies figured out how to dehaul hemp seeds and created this multi-million dollar dehauling hemp plant in Manitoba. And that's how Manitoba Harvest, they hired the Bobbies to make all of their hemp seed, dehauled hemp seed, because hemp seed is horrific shit. Like, holy God, man, you can't eat that shit. You're like, teeth and gums will be destroyed and it'll shatter. Thank you for watching.

BubblemanI mean, you know, we talk about how important it was to get cannabis into the mainstream and get access for cannabis for health. I think it's definitely not more than hemp seed oil and essential amino acids. And you can listen to Dr. Ethan Russo talk about endocannabinoid deficiencies, and those are often connected to essential amino acid deficiencies. They seem to tie one in one, almost as though the essential amino acids are the building blocks for the endocannabinoids that we produce in our bodies.

BubblemanIt's interesting to see how it plays out, but I think that people eating, I'm blown away at how many people in the hemp industry or the cannabis industry don't consume hemp on a daily basis. They don't just eat hemp oil or hemp seeds. So I would say to you, challenge you, you know, if you believe cannabis is your be all end all medicine, then you should be consuming it as well.

BubblemanI would consume both cannabinoids and essential amino acids from the hemp seed. I mean, you're so lucky that you can buy it. Do you understand how amazing that is that you can just go buy that at the store?

Etienne FontanYeah, I have it. Been using it. I use the pills three a day. Yep, still. I mean, it's great for, you know, omega-3, 6, and 9. But yeah, I mean, what y'all did there, I mean, you were very progressive. Whereas in America, we were trying to separate hemp from marijuana while y'all were actually moving with a legitimate hemp industry. Whereas at that time, we were just doing everything but importing it.

Etienne FontanThank you for joining us.

Etienne FontanAnd cannabis products. So, you know, if you see the hemp products and you agree with it, then, you know, buy it. You know, that's how, you know, products get decided is through, you know, you're voting with your dollars. So, you know, yes, they cost a little more, but, you know, they're worth it. So, you know, consider that it's a conscious decision. But at the same time, you know, the health benefits that come from it are something that are priceless.

SpeakerPriceless, dude.

BubblemanAnd it's so easy, you know, even if it's just like throwing it in your salad or figuring out a way to get it into your diet. If you don't like the taste, then like, you know, do the do the capsules, right? You can do the capsules, whatever it is to get it into your body. I mean, I was always surprised at how many heads old school dudes like that just didn't consume it.

BubblemanI was like, fuck, don't you believe in this? So healthy. There's very few things that you can. What else contains all the essential amino acids that your body needs but can't produce? I don't understand. In the right ratios of three to one, like it seems impossible.

Etienne FontanThere are no other plant or animal that has that, which is why it's always in my check. We've been led to, or pardon me, we've been misled to believe that because if we hadn't had the hemp misinformation all those years, you could just about imagine the actual hemp information that would be out.

Etienne FontanIt would be on the walls in schools, you know, telling you about you, you know, when do you even learn about omega three, six and nine? I didn't learn about it in school. Did anybody else here learn about, you know, essential fatty acids? It's in the name essential. I think Udo's taught me more about them than anyone.

BubblemanRight? Yeah. That Fats That Kill and Fats That Heal book, I was like, whoa. Yeah, it's pretty amazing. I saw a thing today where the scientists in Australia are putting this skin cancer thing together, and they're like, the people who are eating butter... They don't get skin cancer. The people that are eating these seed oils, they're basically connecting seed oils and how they off-gas out of your body and UV rays into a potential cancer causing.

BubblemanI was just like, one more connection.

Etienne FontanI just- You're talking hydroxinated, right? No, seed oils. Just seed oils. Wow.

BubblemanMost of the seed oils, yeah. Themselves, they're not as damaging, but I guess as they off-gas out of your body, they're producing some sort of chemical that can interact. It's kind of like, have you ever seen hogwort, the herb? It's a bad one. It grows this big head on it, almost like a sunflower, and it's really tall. And if you touch it, it puts this material on your hand, which by itself is okay, but when the sun hits it, you get third-degree blisters.

Etienne FontanYeah, it's unbelievable. We have it in our area here.

BubblemanSo we got to keep an eye out for it just for kids.

BubblemanAllergens can be dermal and trachea. One is really serious. Yes, exactly. Oh, I made an allergy comment in the room. Someone said some people are allergic to hemp seed, hemp seeds. And I just said, well, a lot of allergies you don't have to live with for your whole life. They're a bit of a sign of an off balance that there are ways to get past massive allergies.

BubblemanPeople that are like deathly allergic to peanuts have been like not allergic to peanuts anymore. And it's just a matter of the body is very complicated. And like, if you're not giving it the things that it needs, Thank you for watching.

Bubblemaninflammation is the killer of all people and when inflammation gets to a certain level they're like oh that inflammation we call multiple sclerosis oh that inflammation we call parkinson's disease that inflammation we call cancer but it's all just inflammation and it seems the more i learn about cannabis is cannabis can take your inflammation and drop it below threshold to a point where it extends your life so why isn't everyone using it as a preventative that is my question what you're waiting to get sick I brought this up a few times.

BubblemanDon't wait to get sick. Use cannabis as a preventative. You should be consuming the oils or the seeds for the essential amino acids. And even if you don't like getting high, I would still consume a small edible or a tincture, whatever it is, at night, right before you go to bed so that you don't have to feel the effects, but you're still consuming cannabinoids into your body.

BubblemanYou're still getting those medicinal benefits. Fuck me, it's 20 minutes from 11. We got about 20 minutes before I think I'll close this up and head off to the airport. Make my way to Montreal.

Collin PalmerSo what's going on in Montreal? You're going to go into a lab out there? Is this the one that you were telling Dr. Mark and I?

BubblemanYeah, these are my new partners out there. They're called Canara Biotech Quebec. And they are just, I can't say enough about them, dude. They are fucking rock stars in every right. I love the workers who are all like super legit, puffer, chronic, you know, sensory scientists. They take it seriously. Seriously, these guys don't eat lunch. They go home for lunch and dab like 10 dabs. You know what I'm saying?

BubblemanLike they're the real deal. The leadership team, fucking exceptional. Also, you know, Justin Conway, the PhD chemist, Assam, the horticulturalist, Nico, the CFO, Zohar, the owner, they're all so on the fucking ball. I've mentioned it before. I've never seen a CEO that is more hands-on than this guy at his facility. He talks to everyone. Like you can see him talking to the janitor one minute, talking to the main extractor, talking to, he is the master grower for the entire facility and they have over 12,000 lights burning.

BubblemanSo you can imagine, it's not like you just put your name on that and go like, oh, I'm I'm going to be the man. That guy's in the fucking room every minute of every day. He's always just working and talking and the level. To be able to go from a conversation that is like super high level about the feed cycles and the feed room and the 100,000 gallon tank and how they're going to be the order that everything, to be able to go from a conversation like that to immediately over to like, there's something going on in the class one div one room.

BubblemanWe had this bolt and it's a bit loose and it's at the bottom. Do you know how the five tanks come down and they split? And he's like, oh yeah, no, I know exactly what you're talking about. Okay, so what you need to do is I need you to just, he's just un-fucking-believable. It's what kind of impressed me to the point where I was like, I think I need to be a part of this group.

BubblemanI think I, I think I recognize something in these people that are like, I needed with my last group that they didn't have. You know, I worked so hard at that company and worked so hard to execute something that, you know, everyone was pushing against me. This whole team is standing, pushing in the right direction. And I, I'm not sure I've ever seen it executed to such a high level of excellence.

BubblemanAnd you can't, You can't hide that. You can't trick someone into that. You can't like, there's no illusion strong enough to convince me that that giant facility was growing great weed other than the fact That that fucking giant facility was growing great weed. I was like, what the fuck? How are you guys? I was like, how are you doing this? I've been in 50 lighters that aren't this nice.

BubblemanWhat is going on? They got a thousand lights in each room. Just a thousand lights in a 10,000 square foot room. Just a giant fucking room with greenhouse roofs. And then you go outside and there's 23 more of them outside. 12 on either side. I just never seen anything like that before. Cool. Yeah, it's awesome.

BubblemanIt's the fact that we went and did a sensory science like

BubblemanAnd so I'm sitting at my buddy's house on the fucking river and we're all having puffing and doing our sensory science and I'm like,

BubblemanHoly shit, this is as good as any resin I have at home. And it, I don't know, it just, it made my head hurt with the fact that, you know, Sam always said it. Sam was always like, it doesn't matter how much you grow if you know how to do it. Like, he's like, I can grow the best weed in fields. And he got a lot of pushback from that.

BubblemanI still get pushback from people that are like, oh, you can't make good bubble hash in a big machine. It's like, well, you were the same motherfucker that said you can't make a bubble hash in a 20 gallon because you learned in a five. Right. They're terrified of scaling. It's like, look, this is just a process. Now, I get it that for the most part, if you're making a small banana bread, it's going to be hard to make 5000 of those, you know, mom made banana breads when you that there are things lost when you commercialize.

BubblemanBut this is this is like we're washing a plant and we're filtering the heads. And if you can do that properly, the more important factor is did you grow it well enough? You know, not that you isolate it well enough. I think the process of isolating resin heads is very simplistic. We understand it. It's not rocket science. It can be done. If you don't do it properly, there are ways to clean the contamination that comes out.

BubblemanI mean, those Sambo Creek filtration units, They'll clean out capitate stocks like nobody's business. And a lot of people's bubble now, since they stopped air drying, it seems, has a lot of capitate stocks and systolic hairs in it. I see it under my macro lens. If I go to an event and put my macro, I stopped doing it, to be honest, because all of the hash just looked like this under the, you know, it wasn't all the caviar balls.

BubblemanIt was just little sticks and stocks. And I get that they're a very small amount of the dilution, but they're definitely a part of it. And I don't necessarily need them in my hash.

Collin PalmerYou know? No, it's the truth. I mean, there's a lot to be said for actually clean hash. It's not everyone, you know, yeah, you can collect heads to press, but to make truly pure heads to that purity is actually very difficult. I think people forget that.

BubblemanWell, the further you want to push it, right? It's like that last like 1% is the hardest percent. It's like the last 0.1% is even harder. You know, I had a guy recently who's telling me that he's now figured out a way to clean the heads even more. He's like, he takes pure heads, and he runs them through a Buckner funnel. And I don't know exactly if there's a solution or what there is, but he's Cleaning contamination out of pure heads.

BubblemanNow it's a super small amount. He was super excited to tell me about it. And I just said, dude, like aside from like sharing that on the internet and maybe creating a little sort of cult about it, nobody cares. Like nobody fucking cares. They're just all smoking fucking pre-rolled joints with fucking botanical terpenes and distillate.

Collin PalmerWell, but yeah, but it's important that he is out there caring. But yeah, you can. You're not wrong. I mean, you can you can push it. And that's it's awesome. I mean, that's once you taste something that clean, it is kind of, you know, that's what you're chasing, you know?

BubblemanYeah. I mean, listen, once you smoke Skunk Man Sam's hash, you just stop chasing anything and everything. You just realize, oh, so we're all playing checkers and he was playing chess. I get it now. That's why it's so sad that he's gone.

Etienne Fontan3D chess.

Bubbleman3D chess. Multidimensional 3D chess on 500 hits of acid. That's what he was doing. Right fucking till the end. And my goodness, I want to play 3D chess. That's what we that's what we should be chasing. 3D chess.

Etienne FontanWell, you kind of have. It's just you've been playing it with life. You haven't been playing it on a chessboard. And that's the difference, right? Each one of us has actually done something. We've accomplished something. We haven't sat around and jerked ourselves off about it. We actually put in the work, the time and the energy and And those that come after him, right? Well, where's the shoulders he stands on?

Etienne FontanRight. And, you know, it was the Jacks and the others, you know, like your your mentor as well, Bubble Man and yours as well, Colin, that we stand on that, you know, we just happen to make our shoulders nice and wide and flat so that others can stand on it because we're not we haven't stopped. Right. Each one of us is driven forward. Thank you so much for joining us.

BubblemanJust go plant some seeds. And I'm telling you, the minute those seeds crack, you'll be like, holy fuck, what do I do now? I gotta go get some solo cups. I gotta go buy a bag of dirt. And then you'll put those in the little solo cup. And you'll be like, I need like a little LED light or something. And dude, those fucking plants will have you running around like a little bitch for the next six months.

BubblemanYou won't even believe it. You'll just be like, give weed an inch and it will take the yard. It really will.

Etienne FontanIf you learn to listen to it, I think is the trick, right? It's one thing to grow. It's another thing to listen to it, right? Because you have to listen to it at certain times to put it to the next motion, right? That you have to go through the start of the 18 and 6 or 24 to arrive at the 12 and 12, right? So, you know, just talking indoor lighting situations there as opposed to You know, when you start then looking at outdoor, you're talking farmers, almanacs, time of year, and things can, you know, get complicated yet simple quite quick when you start looking at outdoor.

Etienne FontanBut it's a different beast altogether. All worth exploring, right? But I agree with Marcus. Just plant some seeds and learn to listen, and it will teach you everything. It's another reason why we call gardens time machines. Because, oh, I'm only going to do five minutes. And next thing you know, you come out, it's six hours later, like, what the fuck happened to my day or night? And you're like, oh, yeah, because you actively listen.

Etienne FontanYou're like, OK, I got to do this. I got to do this. I got to change the water. I got to, you know, prep the soil for this because I got to prep the, you know, the cubes because the clones are coming. And, you know, all these things that you learn that there's systems for and there's a time and a place for. But boy, that learning curve, steep.

BubblemanAnd there's more people doing it now than ever. So there's a million different places to get information. It was a lot tighter back in the 90s and then really in the 80s when you were strictly dealing with books. You just had a book. You couldn't ask any questions. You just had to read the book and be like, all right, I'm just going to do this. And it's, you know, no wonder guys like Ed and Mel and kind of became legendary because they just were so important in helping the world Grow Cannabis.

Etienne FontanEd was the most successful independent publisher in U.S. history, strictly because he was one of the very few authors. And remember, he published the first book along with Mel Frank's book. Back in 74. Okay, now before that, I mean, I've seen sheets of papers that had instructions on it, etc. But, you know, that early book had an audio tape as well. I have one of those. It's the green with the audio tape in it that tells you, you know, what and how to grow because, yeah, they did well, but also Ed kind of got way too complicated and overcomplicated things in his books that You know, I love the guy, but at the same time, he put way too much in there for because there was a lack of information.

BubblemanWell, he was going down a rabbit hole. Right.

Etienne FontanWell, he's trying to give you all the information. And the thing is, is that when you just want to grow pot, you don't need all the information. You just need starter steps to kind of We're going to get you through there. Whereas his early books, as you'll see, you know, they're not thin books, you know, they were thick books, but they were again, he was a self publisher.

Etienne FontanSo, you know, he was able to keep them around and distribute them, you know, worldwide for decades, really unchallenged because he was doing it right. And then where he advertised High Times, right, because he went directly to the market. And if you go look at those old High Times, Thank you so much for joining us.

Etienne FontanAnd which is now this one really still gets my goat is we went around, you know, city to city. You know, again, I've been through 47 states doing rallies, teachings and tours, selling cannabis and stuff, buying cannabis myself. OK, so I have a little bit of experience here. Back in the early 90s, people were afraid that they if they did it by mail order, you were going to end up on a list.

Etienne FontanOK, that fear is now real in the sense that lists are created. They know exactly who and what buys, et cetera. But way back in the day, one of the reasons I think we were so successful is because we had those grow books on us and people would be happy to just it was, you know, it was 1995. They just hand you a 20 right on the spot, hand in the book and on their way.

Etienne FontanAbout 30% of the time, people would have questions. Most of the time, though, people just wanted to get the book and go away and not be seen purchasing this because of stigma or et cetera or the fear.

BubblemanDude, you didn't even leave that book lying around.

Etienne FontanNo, they were hidden. I know many people did the old school, you know, you get the old, you know, grocery bag and you make a cover for it. Like back in grade school, they would all teach you to cover your book so that they could pass on, you know, decently the next year, right? Well, people would do that because yeah, you're 100% correct. I also knew people who would buy it and then they would tear off the front and back cover and walk off that way so it couldn't be seen.

Etienne FontanSo that was a red-eye press, right? Oh, that was red-eye, that was Ronan.

Collin PalmerYeah, yeah. That's awesome. I have Mel's book. I have a bunch of books. But then, you know, Rob's book was also really important. You know, there was a lot. That was the number one book always sold out was his original book.

Etienne FontanAnd then the original Ed and Mel's Grow book, those two, you were the first to go. I mean, you could have other books, but people would see those, they would just start reaching into their pockets trying to find their cash. Mel had the best photography in his books, I thought. He had like really nice. Well, he focused on it and that's what caused Ed to focus on it as well.

Etienne FontanBecause when I was with Ed, everywhere we went, he always took his photography equipment, Colin, because he, because of the exposure of going into all these gardens, you know, he would, we would be able to photograph spider mites, Thank you so much for joining us.

Etienne FontanExperts and non-expert alike that are submitted to societies and for peer review. They're not as heavily scientifically peer reviewed in the sense of what But they're usually the botanist nerds who really had the information and access to the information more than anything and then could convey it. And I think that was one of the best things that, oh, wow.

Collin PalmerSo I've been collecting these for like a long time, a long time. So check this out, Marcus.

BubblemanYou got to turn your back off. We can see it best. I can see it now pretty good, but it's kind of clicking on and off. It's the calendar.

Etienne FontanGorgeous. That's the balls that were the original. The hand kind of slivers that they would like slices of an orange that they would. Fingers.

BubblemanThey make fingers and then you put them all together. Yeah. Like a football. It's awesome.

Etienne FontanYeah. Oh, there we go.

BubblemanOh, no, it's still your whole background's blurry. You got to turn. There you go. Now you can see it. Yeah. Old school. Look at that dirty ass.

Collin PalmerEven like the font is kind of awesome. Oh, yeah.

Etienne FontanLook at that old 70s font. The August. I kind of I love that. Fuck yeah.

Collin PalmerAmerica. 1976.

Etienne FontanLook at that weed. That is pristine. Yeah.

Collin PalmerSo I have a bunch of these. I have. It's awesome. I'll have to, you know, but like, you know, during this time, you didn't like check out this brick, you know? Oh, yeah. So ridiculous.

Etienne FontanCheck this out. So July, December 7th, there's people that are now doing I don't know if people have heard of Advent Calendars. Advent Calendars are what you use, you know, for... We do weed ones up here. We have a weed one down here, the 12 Joints of Christmas.

BubblemanDude, they sell super well in the legal market here, the Advent Calendars.

Etienne FontanOh, yeah. I'm gonna... They're actually hosting events in like five... Oh, yeah?

Collin PalmerYou guys gonna rip this one off?

Etienne FontanOh, I love it. I love it. I wonder how really big that is.

BubblemanAll right.

Etienne FontanI got to thank you.

BubblemanI got to thank the sponsors because it's funny. I knew that we could have talked for a couple more hours, but I got to drive. I just looked at my flight. It leaves in two hours and 30 minutes.

Collin PalmerGo do it.

BubblemanAnd I'm like 45 minutes drive from the airport.

Etienne FontanGo get it, buddy. I'm going to go get it.

BubblemanI want to thank everyone for watching and sharing in my news with my waiver. If you're down in America, see you soon. And yeah, thank you to Puffco. Thank you to the Press Club. Thank you to Bubble Bags. Please go and support our sponsors. Thank you so much for watching.

BubblemanIt's going to be amazing. I'll take some pictures, share some videos, and thank you.

BubblemanCaleb, Colin, Etienne for showing up and being my friends today on this Sunday. I will finish with this. I have started the compassion episode for Wade Laughter. One of the episodes that we wanted to do back in the day when Dr. Mark had his ideas and Caleb with the music and Stephen Philpott with the sports medicine. We all did different episodes. We'll Thank you so much.

BubblemanLarge panel. And we're just going to talk about compassion for four hours and sort of that perspective of cannabis and why it's such an important perspective and why it's one that if you can't necessarily push that envelope and be a part of it supported in any way that you can, maybe you're over here in rec, but you're still doing what you can. For medical. So that compassion episode is going to be in the next three to four weeks.

BubblemanI hope we're doing the email thing now. So we'll figure it out and we'll let you know.

Etienne FontanAnd update. We got the news from the United Nations. So the 9th through the 13th will be the 69th CND in Vienna, Austria. And we are planning to, of course, honor Wade with a side event. There as well. We plan to hopefully bring Monica Forrest and a few others to testify and have that enshrined in the UN as a site of events. Beautiful. We support that together and you can record it.

Etienne FontanYou will be able to record it and you can broadcast it on the Hash Church on that weekend if you want to because it's going to be in the middle of the night for where you guys are because it's going to be Vienna, Austria time. But we'll let you know. We have to submit for that and when we get approval, we'll let you all know time and date.

BubblemanAwesome. I also invited Monica to be a part of Wade Laughter's Compassion episode. And although she said she would probably cry the whole time, she would do her best to make it. And yeah, be here with us on that Sunday. So I got to go. Thanks, everybody. Peace out. We'll talk. We'll talk soon.

Episode notes and transcript from HashBible.org, the Hash Church archive. The notes are machine written and the transcript is machine transcribed, so a name or a number can be misheard; the video is the record.
