BubblemanLet's see how this goes. Welcome everybody. Sunday morning, June 28th, 9am, really 8.59am, not gonna lie, I started a little earlier today. Welcome to Hash Church Season 12, Episode 26. Hard to keep track of these things, but yeah, that's where we're at right now. Got a really nice day. Hopefully it'll be a great show. I don't have a ton organized. I've been kind of lazy in the organization of church as it's been shifting into summer.
BubblemanI've had a ton of work to do here around my house. And so that's my bad. But you know what? I feel like we'll pull something out of the bag, the Mico bag. Shout out to Santi. Loud and clear. Well, good, good. I had my mic turned up, so I'm hoping that that is what we're going to be doing, a nice loud and clear action. Let's start as we often do by shouting out the people who make this possible.

Support Puffco's game changing innovations by heading over to www.puffco.com or following at Puffco on Instagram today. So thanks to those guys for keeping it real on Hash Church. Colin is flying home from Thailand.
BubblemanI believe Dr. Mark told me he was getting on a boat on his way, hanging out with his family and doing a nice day on the boat today. So we won't be seeing from them either. We'll see if we can get some folks in here in the meantime. I guess I'll pull something out here. Might as well. What do we got?
BubblemanGrandpa's jacket. Should we wake and bake with a little grandpa's jacket? If you know, if you know, you may know. If you don't know, well, then you don't know. There it is right there. If you know, you know. So I got this. Oh, God damn. That is gassy as fuck. This is something from archive. I'll have to find out. Go check those guys out on Instagram. If you know, you know, didn't know it was a good buddy of mine's brand, went and saw him yesterday and got turned on.
BubblemanSo that was really nice. That was really nice. We'll see what we've got going on here today on ye old hash church. I've been a bit lazy creating the thumbnail, creating the show. I do have some ideas. I met this gentleman by the name of Lee Jaffe. And Lee Jaffe was a big part of the Whalers history with Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. He was back there in the day.
BubblemanI won't go and ruin his stories that he's gonna come tell in the next week or two here on church, but let's just say Lee was extremely, extremely close with Bob and the entire Whalers, Bunny and Peter Tosh. All of them were very, very close. And yeah, we're gonna see, we're gonna get some really nice stories from him. That should be fun. I think Dragonfly Earth Medicine just texted me.
BubblemanIt looks like they're going to be coming in in a while. They just had a big event over in Berlin, so I'm sure they've got a lot to come and share about that. So we're excited to hear from them. And in the meantime, I'm super excited to have a nice wake and bake. Going to hit the victory glass big ass terp slurper there. Let me just get myself organized.
BubblemanBecause these are really nice dabs. Really nice dabs. What is in the future for me? What is in the future for me? Okay, I think he, I don't know if he wanted to create a different one, but I'm going to show this one anyway, because it's the one we have. And we'll look this up. I am doing an event in Michigan on the 27th. And that's just bullshit, isn't it?
BubblemanIsn't that just bullshit? On the 27th of July, I will be in... That is un-fucking-believable. I don't know how to spell this, guys. All right, there he is. I will be in Michigan on the 27th, and I'm going to be going there with Mock Technologies. We're going to be doing a little something-something with Mock Technologies. I'm just downloading this now. We'll see if that decides to show up.
BubblemanUnbelievable how when it rains, it pours. So yeah, I deleted all the images that I have been sent. I have deleted and now I don't have any images on my computer. Ah, here we go. All right, so this is the original one that I saw. I believe he put this one up, but didn't really like it. So I'm going to be doing a little hash class Monday, July 27th.
BubblemanIf you guys get in touch with mock technologies and then they put up a different one afterwards, they sent me this one afterwards. Sorry that I have to share it on the phone, but there it is. It's the third annual mock golf course. And then we're going to do some training and some diving deep on some of their equipment. For those of you that don't remember Mach Technologies, I bumped into those guys in Vegas.
BubblemanAnd Dylan was the young guy who had helped design the ATS unit, I believe. It was like a jet seat. Big Unit was working close with Logan and the Sambo Creek Filtration guys. I don't believe Dylan is with Mock Technologies anymore, but they have invited me to come by and to do a little course and then go do some golf afterwards. So I'm pretty excited about that.
BubblemanI think it'll be pretty fun. I don't believe there is a cost. I'm not sure, but get in touch with Mock Technologies. If you're going to be in the mitten, I believe it's here that we're going to be doing it. I could be wrong. For those of you that know the mitten, you know, people are always like showing you on their hand where they're from. So yeah, July 27th, I will be in the mitten with Mock Technologies.
BubblemanNow I'm also going to stick around for the 29th and the 30th. And I'm going to be cruising around with Yield Distribution, Yield Distro, which is our...
BubblemanThey're our sales agency. They're the team of people in Michigan that are promoting the Bubble Man brand. So I thought if I was going to be doing a course with mock technologies, it would be a good idea to sort of link up mock and yield and figure out, you know what, I'll have to check where it is, my good brother. Let me see. I know it's up north, like north of Detroit.
BubblemanNetworking. Yeah, maybe you have to get in touch with that. Oh, no, no, no. I have it right here. Good question, bingo. Tuesday the 28th at Fieldstone Golf Club at 1984 Taylor Road in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Auburn. Sorry for the funny Canadian pronunciation. Auburn. That's the French in me. Auburn. Registration and breakfast, 7.30 a.m. Shotgun start, 9 a.m. Four-person team scramble. Come be on my team. I don't know how to golf or shit.
BubblemanIf you know how to golf, bingo, you got to make it down, dude. We'll do the, we'll golf together. I'll make sure you're on my team. So yeah, and then there's a deep dive into the equipment. So there's hash classes, ATS pro training, fully automated cold ethanol extraction from biomass to distillate, MOX wide wiped film distillate units, MOX turnkey bubble hash system, fully automated hydrocarbon AHES units, They're solventless terpene extraction system, which will be the demo day of.
BubblemanThe master, master the cold crash, which is THCA isolate training, falling film solvent recovery, MOX biomass degassing unit, and decarb units with fractional distillation. So obviously they have all sorts of equipment, these guys. A little bit on the solvent side, a little bit on the non-solvent side. I'll be over on the solventless side with guys like the Press Club, That's where I'll stick to. But yeah, I'm pretty excited about it.
BubblemanI think it's going to be fun. Little golf tournament. And I'm pretty sure I'm just coming back home right after and then heading back in at the beginning of August to Colorado, where I will rent another motorcycle and go for another epic ride. That was so much fun. All right. In the meantime, I think I need a little dab to help me along the way. I'm not sure if I'm going to hit this one as I just hit it.
BubblemanI got the two gold tiers. We got forum cookies. I got special K. Holy shit, dude. This one was so strong last night. Special K from Vision Creator. Can't even tell you how awesome this is to have. Come on, grab it. Not gonna stop and there you go. There you go, camera. Special K, baby. If you know, you know, gold tier. If you know, you know, gold tier.
BubblemanI'm gonna hit one of these because I hit one last night. I hit a giant one last night and Borderline sent myself Into a anxiety attack, which is great. I mean, that's not always easy. So let me get a little one of this because we're not going for anxiety attack this morning. Very sweet, James. It's very, very sweet. I think we're going to go for full dab on the rig here and then we'll hit some Puffco's here in a bit.
BubblemanProbably should make sure I charge these vestiges because the Puffco's, I saw Roger post the thing the other day. It was like, I feel like I can take on the world when I have a fully charged Puffco and I related to that shit, dude. There's something about when you puff out of them enough, you hit, yes, RIP to Vision Creator, RIP to Robbie. I knew Robbie for, I want to say, 30 years, and that was sad to hear that he passed.
BubblemanBut I'll tell you, the decisions you make in life will lead you exactly to your death, and you won't be early and you won't be late. So make good decisions. Make good decisions. Yes, the Dante's Inferno is fire. Welcome, Josh. Look at your beautiful... Wonderful face this morning.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineI'm not sure if it's beautiful, but thank you. I appreciate that. It's beautiful. How are you today?
BubblemanDude, I'm doing pretty good. I'm going to turn my mic up. We're trying to get you a little louder in here. I got this new mic. Look at this. I got this new mic. It's incredible. The headphones plug into the bottom of it, but I can't get it to work with Zoom. So I'm back to when I have my headphones plugged into that mic, it gives me a volume setting.
BubblemanWhen I have my headphones plugged into my mic, Screen, I have no, I can't turn my headphones up or down and it's a bit of a bummer. What's that?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineNot the best when you're trying to do, you know, a good podcast and be all like, you know.
BubblemanYeah, it's nice to have, you know, sound.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineI know, I will have to locate my headphones to make it sound better.
BubblemanHow the heck are you? Are you guys back home now? Looks like it.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineYes, we're back home and we had a really amazing trip and yeah, it's a huge event. As you know, you've been and lots of people went as well. So we had a really good trip. We started in Amsterdam and went and had a great time there. We stayed with Kim from Valenvaris, you know, Kim Keller. And he's the one who's based in Amsterdam, based in Europe for Valenvaris.
BubblemanOkay. Not sure if I've ever met Kim, actually.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineSuper awesome, amazing person.
BubblemanI wouldn't be surprised. Ruben seems to pull them out of the woodwork. Welcome, Caleb.
CalebOh, feels great to be here. Morning, Marcus and Josh.
BubblemanA little hash church action after multiple days of like clearing trees on my property. That shit is stressful. Let me tell you, I was cutting some trees that are like, I would say I haven't cut them for almost 20 years. I was very much like, I'm not going to cut the trees at my house guy. And I did that for 17 years. And then all the trees like completely grew and covered my view like hardcore.
BubblemanLike my view is gone. We had a, we had an ocean view and then we didn't have an ocean view anymore. And so it was like, my buddy was like, I could come and do some trees. So here, check this one out.
BubblemanDude, that was like, that was like 60 feet of tree going over. With my buddy in the tree. So we have not cut a single tree. We've been like the ultimate tree hippies on our property. I just want to see zoom in where he's up there. That's my homie right there, Sean. So Sean was responsible for the 400 hour pointillism of Bubble Man. Sean did this. It's all dots.
BubblemanIt's all it's the original Bubble Man. And if I zoomed in close enough, you'd see there's not a single line in it. It's all just dots. It's a pointillism of a wizard sitting on. So I never chose the wizard, right? The wizard was chosen for me by Sean when he gifted me this. It's often like that. You know, I remember hearing someone get mad at me for choosing the wizard and saying that I had stolen it from them.
BubblemanAnd it kind of used to make me laugh when people would like, you know, they'd be like, oh, Mark Emery calls himself the Prince of Pot. It's like Mark did not call himself the Prince of Pot. Some journalist in Vancouver called him the Prince of Pot and the name stuck. But you can always see where people are coming from when they start a sentence like that, where they're like, all right, a fucking bubble man steals my wizard.
BubblemanIt's like, dude, it was a gift from a friend. And when he made it, I felt compelled to like, You know, kind of go along and keep this wizard sort of theme because 400 hours, you guys, do you know what a generous gift that is? How, when's the last time you gave 400 hours of your time to a single person? Like, holy shit.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineYeah.
BubblemanIt's not your spouse or family.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThat type of tree work as well is another unique thing. You know, not everyone just climbs up.
BubblemanDude, he's a master. It's so scary. Do you know how dangerous it is?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineI do. And it's pretty amazing. And the type of tree walking that arborists do.
BubblemanYep, he does that too.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIt's really spectacular. It's probably the better side of falling, let's say.
BubblemanYes, I agree. So I took, he's opened my view up. I took this picture last night of my lavender plants with my ocean view in the background. I was like, dude, that looks so sick.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineYou can see the ocean from the ground.
BubblemanWell, yeah, and the ocean had disappeared. My wife was in the kitchen the other day. She's like, oh my God, I can see the sun setting. I'm like, I know, isn't it beautiful? And then we look over to the left and there's a huge open ocean section. So he's got maybe two or three more visits and we will have the entire view and we have a very wide view.
BubblemanThank you so much for joining us.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThank you so much for joining us.
BubblemanI've seen him climb from one tree to another, like 50 feet up a tree. You know, the other day he was 80 feet up a tree. And it's, you know, he said to me the other day, he said, hey, when we cut this, I've got one more big one that's got about 80 feet to come off of it. And he said, listen, when we cut it, I'll put a Puff Co on the top of the tree where I top it.
BubblemanAnd we'll get a jar and a little thing and a Puff Co. And he says, I'll get a picture, a selfie with it. And then if you can, you could swap your face with my face. And I was like, dude, fuck that. It's going to be your face, dude. I don't need to fucking do no swap fakery. Welcome, by the way, Etienne Fontaine, my brother from another mother, my France brother from another mother.
BubblemanThat's right. That's right. Don't admit the French. Hey, I'll be the French for both of us. How about that? Well, I'm French. He's Cajun. I have to be French.
Etienne FontanWe were originally Canadian, but then the Brits were like, yeah, we don't like you being over there in Newfoundland. You got to go.
BubblemanHi, Kelly. Good morning. Look at that mug. I feel like that mug's got full of good shit.
SpeakerIt is.
BubblemanThat's like a magical mug. Look how fucking, is that big as your head?
SpeakerYeah, as big as my head. From the Arcata Co-op. Wow. It's doing amazing mugs and it's a full quart. It's a full quart.
BubblemanCan we shout them out? How can people go find that? That's amazing.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineJust go to the Arcata Co-op.
SpeakerArcata Co-op. And it's one of the most amazing...
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThere's no name. There's no name on it. I think it's initials, but we don't know the artist.
SpeakerBut the woman has been working and putting a lot of pottery in the Arcata Co-op for a long time. I know it's a woman because that's what the people in there have told me. But she does soup pots, like soup cups that are as big as like a bowl of soup that's set flat with a handle. As well as this one is a whole court, which is amazing.
SpeakerIt's hard to find a whole court. Coco, Lion's Mane, Chaga, Turkey Tail, and some Stevia in here.
BubblemanAdam, Adam Williams says it's full of Budweiser. I don't know why, but I thought that was hilarious.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIt's Miller time around here.
BubblemanListen, right after someone said Budweiser, someone said, Kello Mitty said Bud Light. It's Bud Light. You know what? That's just funny.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThey say alcohol can make you smarter because it made Budweiser.
BubblemanJesus Christ.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineI'm a grandfather, so you have to give me a little break here.
BubblemanIs that a grandfather joke?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineOh, yeah, it is.
BubblemanI got the Michael Bag hat on today. Shout out to Santi in Colorado. This is Ruben's partner in the mushroom business. So Ruben from Valenveras and Santi. Yeah, Michael Bag. They're awesome. I met them in Barcelona a couple of years ago. And every time I go to Colorado now, I try to make a point on linking up with Santi. Although we are both very different. Oh, look at that classic.
BubblemanThat's some Skunk Man Sam shit right there.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineFrom his house.
SpeakerThese are actually Skunk Man Sam's. Yep. Diana.
BubblemanNice.
SpeakerThis is a pack of matches that he was still working on.
BubblemanI would say he must have gone through like 10,000 of those boxes.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineLike I want to say also, Diana is a special lady. And if she's watching, we love you, Diana, and we appreciate you. And we got to spend some really sweet time with her and Jingles, the beautiful cat. And I can't stop thinking about the cat because it's a special like Abyssinian.
BubblemanYeah, his cats were always awesome, dude. I miss Smarty, too.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThere you go.
BubblemanI got Sam right here with me. He's going to go into a haze plant I have here in the very, very, very near future when I transplant him. Hell yeah, Caleb. Boom. Ours are similar jars, Caleb. We both got the... Shout out to Max for making these jars and archive for... You see how I have a piece of hash stuck on mine, dude? I need one of those.
BubblemanYeah, that's some full melt bubble hash. I figured like, you know, have a little full melt rip on Sam. All right, time to wake and bake on that note with Sam.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineOur eggs are hatching right now. I just got a little note, but go ahead. Let's do one for Sam.
BubblemanYes, your eggs in the garden, like the chicken eggs you made?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineWe have an incubator we just got. We have 17 quail eggs.
BubblemanOh, quail eggs.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineAnd now we're doing another 24 chicken eggs.
BubblemanAwesome.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineWe like birds. Quails are cool. I don't know if anyone has. Probably not. I don't know how many people have quails, but they're...
Etienne FontanThey're wild around in California, everywhere.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineYeah, totally. But the ones that are domesticated are not the same. Like, they don't have...
BubblemanI tell you, my cat will eat both of them the same, though.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThey have a really nice little breast. Hell yeah.
BubblemanHaving a cat keeps you from having some other things like that. Then, of course, being in a, like, you guys don't have, like, foxes coming and trying to eat your shit, or cougars, or lynx, or... We have every single one of those things.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineOne thing is we have these two properties. The one in Johnson's Landing is... In the middle of a field. So things don't like to expose themselves going across the field. Yeah, we have coyotes, wolves, lynx, everything. Owls.
BubblemanYeah, those are killers.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineGoshawks are our biggest thing to worry about.
BubblemanPredators with wings.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineGoshawk is the one thing that our dogs, if a goshawk, I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie.
BubblemanWhat a great name for a company. If you know, you know. Have you heard of this company, Caleb? Yes, I have. IYK. It's a good homie of mine, dude. I had no idea. I hadn't seen him. Check this out. This is the world that I live in. And thank God.
BubblemanI find a lavender plant on Facebook Marketplace. And I'm a bit of a plant guy, you know, I'm like, I like plants. I want to, uh, I want to get the lavender plant. Here's the lavender plant right here.
BubblemanIt's a beautiful giant bush, 45 bucks. And I'm like Canadian. So it's like 30 bucks. I'm like, I'm going to go get this lavender plant for my property. And I go and I'm driving there and the woman's like not even there. She's just, it's a beautiful house. She's put it at her front door and she's trusting that when I take it, I will send her an e-transfer of the $45.
BubblemanLove living in Canada. Like I just, I love that. I love people trusting one another. So I go, I send her the money right in the driveway. I don't leave until she confirms she's got the money. But on the way to getting the flower, I called up a buddy of mine I haven't spoken to in a while. Like maybe I spoke to him once or twice in the last couple of years, but we used to see each other a lot.
BubblemanAnd so I just reached out to him and I, you know, he answered the phone and I said, dude, I've been thinking about you. And we had a nice little conversation. And as I'm pulling in to get this plant, he's like, oh, so where are you in Squamish? And I'm like, no, actually, strangely enough, I'm in Burnaby right now, which is on the other side of Vancouver completely.
BubblemanAnd he's like, well, I'm in Burnaby. And so literally, you know, 10 minutes later, we're hanging out in Burnaby together. He's showing me this new brand that he's got going on. Or if it's not new, maybe it's been going a while. I don't know. I didn't really know much about it. I had seen a couple of things. It's very brilliant in the old like I had seen this probably a month ago.
BubblemanSomeone just wrote, if you know, you know, and I was kind of like, fuck, I don't know. I don't know what they're talking about. I was like, it's always a funny thing when you've been in this industry for as long as guys like me and Etienne have been in that you do get a little surprised when you don't know when you're like, oh, so I don't know.
BubblemanAll right. I want to know. And it took a month and it took this coincidence of just calling my buddy and reaching out for no other reason than to just see how he was doing. And he ended up giving me like a bunch of jars of beautiful hash. He ended up giving me some doinks, some massive, like beautiful tipped doinks that were made by a local friend of ours.
BubblemanThis one's a 33 splitter, indica, candy fumes. So two grams of organic flour, 0.5, 170 to 159 live rosin.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineAnd then he gave me... Oh, that's not a doink then, if it has rosin in it.
BubblemanWell, I mean, I don't know. It's a hash hole. I call it a doink when it's that fat. Whether it's got rosin or not, I could be wrong. I'm new in the joint smoking world and I don't smoke joints this big very often because I don't want to share. I just don't want to share. It's fucking irking me to shit. To share joints. Like when I watch ATN smoke that whole joint to his head, I'm like, that is the most natural, normal thing I could ever see.
BubblemanAnd only my Rasta friends are on point with this. These motherfuckers never pass a joint ever. Like it just doesn't happen. And I love it. It's so natural. It's why my wife would always say, you are a Jamaican, like clearly, like you just fit. There's too many things that line up. And that one is a big one. I feel that there's an invisible pressure When, especially with a joint, especially with this, like, you know, you want to share this experience.
BubblemanSo for me, it's such a great pressure that I try to make sure when I want to smoke a joint that I have one or two other joints rolled so I can give the joint away and confirm, look, it's not about me wanting to keep you from getting high and enjoying this joint. It's that I don't want to take a fork out of your mouth and put it into my mouth.
BubblemanThat's it. It's just a germ thing. And it's mainly because when I left Vegas, did you get sick in Vegas, Caleb? I think I barely avoided getting sick. What the fuck? I got the plague and I it maybe came the final straw of my plague. I will say this flying home on Delta and I'm in the second row and the little girl in the first row right in front of me is coughing and wheezing the entire time.
BubblemanAnd she's not like one or two. She's like four or five. So she's like just at a big enough level where she can project She's she could move. She's getting up and going to the bathroom. She's touching all the chairs. She's licking her hands. And I'm just like, you know, the father of a daughter. I'm just like, oh, poor, poor, poor little sweetie. In the meantime, I know I'm like going to bring the plague home.
BubblemanAnd I did. I brought the plague home, which if it did come from her, there's nothing that's sharing joints. I didn't share joints, but I was sharing Puffco's like crazy. I don't know. Even if I could just get my own Puffco glass and just carry that with me. And anytime someone has a Puffco, I could just crack theirs off, put mine on. I don't know. I don't know.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicinePrinciples of a biome in that moment. Like that starts to become like... And it's okay. OCD. Like it's the way...
BubblemanIt's not even OCD. It's like I'm afraid to get deathly ill. It's like...
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineAnd I'll just say, totally, I understand. I get it. A lot of people, the wook flu, and there's all kinds of words.
BubblemanWell, it's not even, yeah, it's that people don't care. People will be sick. And in order to get free dabs and free hits on joints, they will literally fucking infect like a thousand people. That's the problem. If everyone was honest, it would be no problem. It'd be like, you know what, as much as I'd love to hit that, I feel like something might be, you know what I mean?
BubblemanBecause that's when you're really contagious. When you aren't sure if you're sick or not, but you think, like the people who have higher levels of awareness, they fucking know right away. They're like, holy fuck. You feel a slight tingle in your nose, you're like, fuck, this is going to be like a bad one. Thank you so much for joining us.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineWe are parents and grandparents, and we have also traveled the world at a time when the early 2000s, which is really late for old people and early for young people. Who knows? During the 2000s, we were traveling and never took any vaccines or any pharmaceuticals.
BubblemanMe neither.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineFor any sickness ever going to Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Burma.
BubblemanI did India.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIndia.
BubblemanNever got sick.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineWhat I'm saying is it's you learn about the biome, you learn about the body, you learn about that there's 380 trillion pathogens present in our body at all times. So we have every sickness and pathogen living inside of our body. And it's not just you're walking through town and every single person that's sick is just giving it to you and you're
BubblemanNo, I get sick very rarely, to be honest. But when I do.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineYour body's actively processing and eating pathogens. So what we came to was instead of doing a full blown parasite cleanse or a whole wellness cleanse when you travel or when you go to, we've also done cannabis events. For a long time and smoked nonstop, been judges, whatever, past joints forever, you know, because joints are kind of a communal thing. That's just the nature. We do a light dose of parasite cleanse or a light dose of wellness formula during those times of traveling and even oregano oil or grapefruit seed extract.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineAnd it's wild. Thank you so much for joining us.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineLet's not share anything. I think maybe if you go to an event, let's make sure that we're proper, like immune boosted. You know what I'm saying? Like, you know, with herbs and teas and, and even foods, drinks and stuff.
BubblemanWe're like a big field of plants. We're not uniform. That's just not the reality of mankind. How we are is we've got there's going to be the sickest and the healthiest in that sort of range. And I don't go to events like thinking everyone's going to be sick by any means. I love to get high with one another and I love to share. Thank you for watching.
BubblemanI think the, just the space, the like me going like here, here's some for you. Sometimes I'll roll a joint for my friends. I did it the other day, actually. Mike, the guy cutting the trees that were here. I was like, I was like, I think I'm going to roll a joint. Can I roll you one? He was like, that would be great. I was like, we sat out on my deck and chuffed a joint together.
BubblemanAnd he was, he was kind of in disbelief. Did he lick it? Did you lick it? Lick the joint? When you rolled it. No, no, absolutely not. I used this small sponge in my finger. No, of course I licked it.
BubblemanHe doesn't care. He would have shared a joint with me. We could have dropped that joint in cow shit and he would have picked it up and fucking smoked it. Yeah. A real man's man.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIt doesn't matter whether you're... Don't pass a joint. Don't pass a joint. Just being fun, being kind. Everyone's different. Who cares? Like it's, it's a beautiful thing.
BubblemanApparently everyone on the internet cares, but you know what? Fight the algorithm. Don't let it get you. It will enforce all the bullshit you think is true. So don't think that's real either. And that's how I look at the algorithm these days. I'm just like, okay, it's trying to really drive home that all of these little... And it's like, I'm convinced it works, not consciously on what you're looking at, but the subconscious...
BubblemanLike pauses you make while you're scrolling. These like micros, like quick little mini like pauses. And it's just grabbing that and like entwining it into your, I like to try and fuck with the algorithm and open shit that I have no interest in and see how that affects it. But it's smarter than you think, man. I don't think we know what that fucking thing is doing at all on the level that it's doing it, which is kind of trippy.
BubblemanI mean, no more trippy than the sociopaths that are in charge of politics and run the different countries. So there's that as well.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIt's weird to have a choice. Do you post for the algorithm or do you post from your heart? Right? Because heart stuff doesn't always get the likes.
BubblemanIf you post for the algorithm and you get your Instagram account taken down, you will think the world has ended. But if you post from the heart and you get your Instagram account taken down, you will know that your Instagram account does not define you and that you are much more than your Instagram account.
CalebI just went through that. Thank you for that. Oh, really? Oh, yeah.
BubblemanYeah, you're number two now, hey?
Etienne FontanMake him number three. I was gacked like in 2010. That's like when it opened, dude. No, no, no. We had built up over 100,000 following and we posted a rainbow flag in support of our LGBTQ community. And wow, boy, did... Yeah, and we're never able to get it back, man.
BubblemanYou did that in 2010? Yeah. Because that's the year that Instagram was created.
Etienne FontanYeah, we were on quick. October 6th. Got in and right around Christmas.
BubblemanI started my account in November of 2010, one month later, but it wasn't my BC Bubble Man account. It was my photography account. And Instagram was amazing back then. There was really no groups. It was just like mostly people from like Hong Kong. And like, it wasn't even English. It was just like, I, and there was no translation. It was crazy. You just couldn't figure out if you didn't speak that language, if you couldn't read those symbols, but it was all photographers.
BubblemanIt was all people taking pictures of like benches and like a light at night with the trees going into the park and just like super cool, artistic. Yeah, it was just really artistic. Like my account was Mark 73 and or no, was it Marktographer? I can't remember. It was one of those two. And I just took like when I look back at that, I'm like, wow, this was just like when I like taking pictures.
BubblemanIt's fucking what a cool thing to get tuned into this like. community from across the other side of the world who really picked up on it the fastest in my opinion that's how that's how it worked for me i saw 90 of the people were were in asia using the app in the in the like november 2010.
Etienne FontanWe were one of the first cannabis ones out there and we're putting pictures and stuff. Never, of course, price or anything like that, but just showing the cannabis products that we had. And yeah, but of course, recently, Caleb found out, you know, he had his Unfortunately, Gacked. And, you know, you got to wonder if it's actual algorithm or haters. And I found it's a combination of both, but probably more of the haters than it is.
BubblemanWell, the algorithm is the agent Smith from the Matrix. And the haters are the people who tell the Hey, there they are. There they are. There they are. And then Agent Smith will put his attention on it and be like, it's a bummer. I wish people didn't do it. I wish that we could. I wish that it wasn't an issue and that people couldn't do it in the sense that You know, you know, now on the flip side of the coin, I'm guessing an enormous amount of people move product through Instagram.
BubblemanAnd I'm guessing it just doesn't come out of left field for Instagram. Like, I don't feel like they're so anti-herb. That they want to like close all the herb accounts down like they're against our activism. I think it's probably more a lawyer thing where they're like, listen, like we can't have people using the platform to sell illegal drugs over borders. And so because because Whenever it's borders in particular, you embarrass the federal aspect of the government, whichever government that is in that country.
BubblemanSmuggling is kind of like counterfeit money. If you undermine the monetary system of any country, see how hard and swift they come and get you for doing such things. I learned that early on in my activism. There were things I was willing to be an activist about, and there were things that I was not. Everyone's got to make their choices. We all have our boundaries. It's awesome that you got to see Diana in Amsterdam.
BubblemanI miss going to Amsterdam, not going to lie. It's... It's weird how the world shifted. And I would have never guessed five years ago that I would just be like, I have 100 US trips planned before I go to Europe again. Like I am so far behind on the US travel boat that yeah, it's fucking...
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineShoot, it's terrible. You got to get that on the list.
BubblemanWhat is?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIt's just going to Thailand. I'm just saying.
BubblemanI've been to Thailand.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIt's just with the herb and everything going off. We haven't been back to Thailand since the laws changed.
BubblemanRight? Me neither. Me neither. In fact, I was there in the 90s when the law was very much as opposing as the current law that it possibly could be. It's amazing to me that the rest of Asia somehow allowed that to happen, knowing full well that the success of the Thai cannabis...
BubblemanWhatever you want to call it, program is going to be hugely, hugely, not that it needs it, but it is going to be hugely affected by People from countries surrounding Thailand that are living in an environment that they absolutely cannot use cannabis. Those people are enjoying Thailand right now. Let me tell you.
CalebThere's neighboring governments that are reacting. They're pissed with the people. Yeah, of course. They're being they're reacting in a negative way. I know all the people off the plane. If you're coming from Thailand, give you a drug test for a minimum of a year. If you post pictures of you smoking Thai weed, Taiwan, for instance, or Singapore.
BubblemanI think we have a similar thing here in Canada. I know they announce it consistently to the Chinese people, like don't use cannabis in Canada, even though it's federally legal. Don't do it. You're a Chinese citizen. Those announcements. So they seem strict. I would guess they come with punishment. If you go back home and there's proof of you using these substances, that's wild. I mean, that's definitely different.
Etienne FontanThey have a social credit system and those become social credits against your credit, right? So you have to... They have a different setup altogether, right, Caleb?
CalebIn Korea, for instance, if you get... Oh my god. Holy shit. Yeah. Yeah.
Etienne FontanYeah, considering half, I mean three quarters of my fucking phone list would be fucking all.
BubblemanDude, I have like 9,000 people on my phone list.
CalebHow about that? Well, and Korea is a place where the genetics are showing that there is still and historically was drug type cannabis. And that what this means is North Korea is actually more permissive towards cannabis use and cultivation and use of feral populations than South Korea is. And that these, you know, the genetic repository is greater in the North than it is in the South. And that's just like a funny side effect of governments being weird towards weed.
Etienne FontanAnd oddly enough, when I was in South Africa last year, which I will be again this year, I'm going to be traveling back there, went to Eswatini. And Eswatini is a country in South Africa. I didn't give a shit. You know, Eswatini is also known as Swaziland to the rest of you, which you all know. But Swaziland was the white man's name. Eswatini is the true native name for it.
Etienne FontanSo it's just interesting to see how different cultures deal with, you know, just border crossing and, of course, South Africa, it's in their constitution. Again, shout out to Doug, a couple, and of course, Myrtle Clark and Amy Haystack and them and Fields of Green for All because they're still fighting the good fight there in South Africa. But it's just interesting. There's two different continents, two different legal situations where, you know, South Africa is still kind of in its own unique situation.
Etienne FontanAnd isn't necessarily as declarative as Thailand came and of course brought the people there. And of course the Thailand contracted because of a whole bunch of disrespect as well as, you know, bad actors just coming in, you know, thinking, oh, it's legal. So I start smoking anywhere and in the streets and in temples. And when you're dealing with, you know, Marcus can tell you when you're dealing with different cultures, they have different cultural sensitivities.
Etienne FontanOnce you cross those borders of cultural sensitivities, the anger is visceral and of course we saw the reaction, the law changed outright in Thailand because of, I'm not just saying it's just bad actors, of course the triads and all kinds of others, You know, they opened their doors way too fast and did things way too loose. And of course, realized they had to change that and they're going through that change currently.
Etienne FontanSo Thailand's kind of an interesting cautionary tale in the sense of cannabis opening up its doors. They were also the first ones to really contract.
BubblemanWell, obviously it was a border issue. It was a federal issue. It was now no longer a Thai issue because cannabis was coming in right away, like the next day, just packs from Cali. And then at that point, anyone that was anywhere else that could just call their herb Cali herb and have it look enough like it. Let's just say Thailand, when it first went legal, Could not have grown the amount of weed that was suddenly there and you could just buy all sorts of Cali weed in Thailand when it first went legal and so that becomes embarrassing on a global level when your borders are allowing things to go over that even if you are legal in your country it's not legal to just Go like unregulated.
Etienne FontanWell, you have you have protections such as Canada has said its own protections to protect its own flower industry.
BubblemanYes, of course. Otherwise, people would have invested all this money. And then one guy in India would be like, I just planted like 6000 hectares and I'm importing it into Canada for point zero zero zero. I saw that. I saw that.
Etienne FontanThe underage people on their property, et cetera. And yeah, they are able to list themselves on the stock exchange. So very interesting when you say it's in the future. Well, the future is kind of now in certain result because Glasshouse can overgrow pretty quickly.
BubblemanYeah, well, I had never seen, Sam always told me that you can grow quality at scale. He always said that from one of the first times I ever met him. He was like, I could grow full melt, clear dome resin in like on an acreage. And he had many times. So he wasn't saying something that he thought he could do. He was just really announcing something that he had done on numerous occasions.
BubblemanAnd what's that?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineBy static sifting it?
BubblemanYeah, but also more importantly by growing it in a way that it would create resin that when you unveiled said resin, it was actually of quality. Because you can static sift anything, but it won't always melt into a liquid like Sam's hash used to. Super quality flowers, super quality heads, super quality resin. And he always was like, yeah, you can grow beautiful, high quality cannabis in fields of cannabis.
BubblemanAnd I never had seen it until I saw the scale in Quebec at Canara and saw the resin that they were growing. It did really blow my mind. Even though Sam had told me all those years, of course, like, of course, what do you mean? And I'm like, well, why does everyone like scared about scale? Well, because they can't do it. Oh, right. Same with hash. When I sold the five gallon bags, you know, the bucket, those bags sold for many, many, many years.
BubblemanAnd when I finally went up to a 20 gallon or the 32 gallon more accurately, but we called it the 20 gallon in the early days. A lot of people were like, I won't use those big bags. There's there's you lose quality. You lose. It's like, no, you don't. You just don't. You just have to change the way you do things ever so slightly. The variables in which you how you mix and the way you go about doing it.
BubblemanJust just make sure that you have all the things at the highest level and you'll get a perfect mix and a perfect filter. And just like you would with a one gallon or a five gallon. But I get it. It is scary to scale. The mistake becomes bigger, right? Your errors become larger. Never fun.
Etienne FontanFail upwards.
BubblemanYeah, fail upwards. Exactly. So yeah, summer is here. We had our solstice not too long ago. The longest day of the year. That's fun.
SpeakerOh, I was just saying I wanted to comment on your Instagram. You were you were saying that you thought that they were concerned about sales. And I think that we almost answered ourselves the question in this, you know, in the preceding conversation after that is that governments are going to such huge, massive lengths to shut down this culture, to shut down those who are partaking in cannabis.
SpeakerI don't think that it's just sales. I absolutely do believe that the shutdown has to do with the culture because we know that when we smoke cannabis, it changes our perspective. And the last thing that any government wants is if they've been raising you in a certain perspective, they've been educating you with their perspective. They're going to raise you up in society with their perspective. To ingest cannabis is going outside of that.
SpeakerSo I absolutely believe that there's a massive threat on anyone who wants to have a different perspective than that with which the government that they're living in.
BubblemanI used to believe that fervently, but then we got federally legal cannabis in Canada and medical and you could grow your own at home. And I was just like, well, holy shit. If that were the case, if cannabis was like enemy number one because it changes the way you think and it alters your perspective to their agenda, why the fuck would they let us have it on such a scale?
SpeakerJust going to allow us to have a certain type of cannabis. So we know that a certain type of cannabis, you know, super, super high THC, it doesn't have the full spectrum cannabinoids. We know that a lot of different healing properties are taken out of that. I can also, you know, step out on a limb here to say that I believe that when we Take away a lot of the other cannabinoids and the sort of full ratio that healing aspects of it, both spiritually, physically, mentally are taken away.
SpeakerSo you absolutely are not having that same experience with, you know, weed that maybe, you know, is only growing for high THC value is only grown for Really large production. And that is definitely where legal countries are headed towards, you know, the grow your own thing, I believe is a bit of a token. Yeah, it's awesome that, you know, countries are allowing it a lot of people.
SpeakerMore countries are taking it away and less conversations are being had around medical use.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineAnd then it's like, oh, you can grow it your own, but you can only have 100 grams in your house. You're like, okay.
SpeakerThere's just a lot of interesting squeezes there.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineAnother thing, when they legalize it, it's not them giving us our culture back. It's them creating a regime and a program which extracts The monetary aspect and rewards that aspect of it. And you can see that in our community, like there's not,
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineNumber one, there's not as many growers and the ones that are there, that looks a lot different than cultural growing looked like. It's the same as midwifery. They legalized midwifery in British Columbia and then it became illegal because they put all these legal parameters on it, which didn't allow you to be far away from a hospital, blah, blah, blah. In Europe and Germany in particular, and even Czech Republic, They reward you for using synthetic cannabinoids.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineSo if you have regular cannabinoids and you get pulled over by a cop, they can swab your mouth or even pull blood out of your system to check the cannabinoids in your system and take your license away for a month.
BubblemanThey've been doing that for decades.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineWell, it's okay. It's a lot more prevalent nowadays. And when you go to the events, you hear a lot of stories of people that just came in, that just got pulled over. And there's also a lot of people getting in trouble in Germany for growing and having grows in their house. So it's odd. And it's an interesting perspective to be like, oh, I wonder... What are they handing us?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineYou know what I mean? It's great though. If you just want weed in people's hands.
BubblemanDude, I have faith in Mama Cannabis. I know that if people have access to it, there's nothing you can do to alter her frequency that's not going to get through to those people. I mean, look at Prohibition. They spent billions of dollars. They brutalized and... Thank you for joining us.
BubblemanGiving us cannabis like I'm I totally see your guys's perspective. I am so glad I don't share it. It seems like like like serious and and like I'm so grateful and so stoked the way cannabis has been like, I just remember the way it was, man, like even being in America. I'm driving around Colorado and having dabs on me and knowing like I can just, yeah, it's like five grams or something, but I'm not like Colorado only letting me have five grams.
BubblemanI am so fucking grateful I'm allowed to have, I would be so grateful if I was allowed to have one gram, but I get also where you guys are coming from. I'm just, like I said, I'm very glad I don't currently share that perspective.
SpeakerI just think that it's a reality.
BubblemanNo, it's a perspective. Reality is a perspective, and that's how you can shift reality by thinking about it differently.
SpeakerI was going to go further with the sentence. I was saying it's a reality that governments absolutely are wanting to tone down and shut down those who are dissident or who have definitely different types of ideology. I think we can agree on that. Now, as far as like, you know, Cannabis, cannabis has so many different ways. Like my perspective is that if it can get out anywhere, that's great.
SpeakerBut what kind of a relationship are you going to have with it? She can be easily, you know, in the position of the mother and the goddess and the giver, and you can grow her outside and you can give her away for free. And you can give all of the doobies that you grow to your I believe that there's a lot of different ways that we can
SpeakerWe can look at nature, we can see how we treat environments, or even our community members. So there's a lot of different ways on how you can attain cannabis, how you can be a part of cannabis, how you can trade cannabis, or how you can make money off of cannabis. She's up for it. She's happy to be growing in every single crack and cranny and basement all over the world.
SpeakerThat's how she began. She doesn't care if you're going to be paying cash for her or not, but don't expect
SpeakerA relationship of love, of valor, of ultimate respect coming from that plant if all that you're going to give her is a money exchange. It's that way with anything. So I don't know if it's a perspective on cannabis itself or maybe it's just a perspective on how we all integrate and react and are with cannabis.
BubblemanThere you go. Well, well said.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIt's not an oppositional thing either. Like, it's all happening. And a person can grasp onto any aspect of it that they feel they need in their life. And as we know, there's so many different people needing it in their life for every different reason in the world.
SpeakerAnd for real, like, is a person who's trying it for medical use or trying it for emotional use or All of these people are trying it for any kind of use for the very first time. And they're looking at a doobie that's grown, you know, let's just say full on, All money. There's not no love, no human interaction. It's not touched. It's grown specifically for high THC content.
SpeakerIt's not grown in any kind of soil or any kind of environment that a plant might normally grow in. And then you've got another doobie that is grown in somebody's home. It's got that love. It's got that intention. It's got that mama vibe. I truly believe that cannabis is going to Thank you so much for joining us.
SpeakerAll different kinds of cannabis, but if we're not allocated to access something that's grown from nature and has some type of an option.
BubblemanBut isn't that an option? Like, have you not gone and grabbed some of Chay's stuff?
SpeakerThank you for joining us.
SpeakerThank you so much for joining us today.
SpeakerKelly Cervantes, A doobie that's prayed over or one that is grown outside even in sunshine or even one that's in living soil in a huge massive facility. Who knows? There's all these different levels to it is all that I'm getting at. But I don't think that we can totally compare that. The doobies are going to give that person the same type of feeling. I just I believe that cannabis has quality and it's the same as a Budweiser or if somebody is going to sit down and have a sip of something.
SpeakerYeah, it might make them feel different. I don't know. I just.
BubblemanBut how many of the things that these people are doing in the rest of their everyday life is exactly that.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineBut that's the point.
BubblemanYou know, that's that's because I used to live in this sort of more utopian. Like I said, I've told the story a million times when Debbie was like, it's not like we just started growing for THC. Like, how fast can I get it and how much can I get at the highest THC order? People, the prohibition mentality of growing cannabis was very much How much can I get and how fast can I get it?
BubblemanAnd ideally, if you found something that was strong, you would grow that one more and more and more because people wanted that effect. I hear people all the time talking about, you mentioned earlier, like the full spectrum of cannabinoids. I'm not sure we... I personally ever had that as early as the 90s and on, because back then it was how much can I get and how fast can I get it?
BubblemanAnd it was the strongest was the most popular. It seemed to be like that the entire 90s that I was here, people buying flour, they all wanted like the strongest, you know, the nicest, almost like almost like the weed. You were just like. like styrofoam like the fake weed like pgr's like i always called it honestly like like blonde hair wig fake boobs like it was weed that would go to la and sell for like you know five or six thousand dollars a pound i called it like styrofoam bud it had no soul but it was literally the weed that got the most the highest dollar amount which was just that was in like the 90s
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThat's why Hawaii was so special. Go ahead.
SpeakerWell, I just think that we can all, we've pretty much answered all of the questions here.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineOkay.
SpeakerStating that, you know, what maybe people are wanting is to not break out of their everyday lives or that they don't have an opportunity to in their mind. And so, So they don't know any better.
SpeakerWell, I don't think that they know any better because they don't have choices to necessarily know any better.
BubblemanBut have you ever walked into a dispensary like in Canada? And like I bought some of Caitlin's rosin from the Kootenays, Rainbow Belts, I think it was. I was with my buddy Andy and we walked into like a...
SpeakerMost people don't even know what rosin is.
BubblemanYeah, but the fact that you can walk into a store in Canada and buy some of it that was made by like an awesome woman hash maker that was grown by like a homie of mine that I used to grow with in North Vancouver 30 plus years ago. Like to me, that's not factory weed. Like that is a roots.
SpeakerOh.
BubblemanYeah, so what I'm saying is that's available. The factory weed will always be available in the larger amounts because those people that buy it, they're going to be a larger group of people that always buy that stuff. What I'm saying is there are smaller companies that exist today Like Chay from Rosebud and some of these other companies that you can support by going to these stores and buying these products.
BubblemanAnd the more people do support them, the more that group of people who are doing it very much the way Kelly was mentioning in regards to not... Factory growing, salt grown flour, but growing organically and as regeneratively as allowed under Canadian regulations. You can support those companies and hopefully grow their success.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThat's the whole entire purpose of the peer certification. I mean, we're all grouping people together and Kootz Canna, Kootenay Cultivar, Kootenay's Finest, Rosebud, There's Woody Nelson. There's so many amazing cultivars that people that are growing. If you go to Washington, most of the dispensaries, there is no organic. You can find Eagle Trees or Kenny from over in Bellingham, certain parts of Seattle. But if you're anywhere in Washington, the first thing they ask, they tell you is like, oh, well, there's not a federal certification for organics.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineSo technically, we can't say any of this weed in here is organic. And I'm like, oh, that makes sense. That's why there's other certifications. So when you see other certifications on there, they make a big difference.
BubblemanAre any of them federal in Washington?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThere is no federal organic certification for cannabis in America. So technically they can't say this is organic. So that's a weird thing.
SpeakerWell, they can't say they're other small organic.
BubblemanCan you put on the label, we can't say this is organic?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineYou can put on the label, DEM tier certified.
BubblemanCould you call your brand, we can't say this is organic?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineWell, like I'm saying, there's third party certification.
BubblemanThat'd be awesome. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineAnd they are on the label. And they are readable in QR codes.
BubblemanAnd how do you become a third party? Like, can anyone just do that? Or is there some sort of, like, bodies that they have to sort of, like, how do you just come up with a certification that's accepted by, like, states or federal governments?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIt's not accepted by the federal government.
SpeakerWell, a third party would be. A third party has some type of... And then there's a third party certification that's tied into either a larger organization such as, you know, the federal, the federal organization certification. Yeah. And then you can call it third party certification. But there's also a first, there's also a first party certification that Really, we're finding in gluten-free certification, you're finding in animal-free certification.
SpeakerDEM Cure is a first-party certification, which means that all of those certifications are not utilizing larger, grander federal certifications to write their tonality as well as their SOPs on it. It's just written outside of it. So I think that they're, Are a lot of different certifications actually in cannabis sort of all over the world now for for different aspects. And I would call them mostly third party certification unless it's like a clean green.
SpeakerThey're more of a third party sun and earth. They're a third party. They do do some regenerative conversation in there. But a lot of the written SOPs are derived from The NLP or different certifications that are allocated throughout the world.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIn the case of our certification, it doesn't use that as a base. It uses toxicity and purity as a base. So it's not just that there's no checks and balances. There's 100% checks and balances because every farm that
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineSo, you come up with a process, you come up with the certification, and then people can decide whether it's powerful. It's not just So, I mean, growing flowers and growing food as part of your cannabis farm would have nothing to do with the National Organic Program. That's a whole entire program.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineOther reason for doing that. This is a, I want the world to be a better place. I want to restore habitat and I want to do it in a natural form, which I think benefits cannabinoids, terpenes,
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineAll these things that we value within cannabis. What we've chosen as a natural system to dynamically charge our experience. And in that, every single thing that comes on the farm has to be individually tested. And within those tests, you have to ask for more testing than the normal testing. Normal toxicity testing for things like alfalfa, nettles, burdock root, turkey, rhubarb, those things often don't even have glyphosate on.
SpeakerThere is no glyphosate testing.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIf you get a toxicity report for an herb and you're an organic herb company, you can get a toxicity report that has like 30 toxic Chemicals on it and glyphosate's not there.
SpeakerBecause it's not considered toxic.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIt's mind blowing. So you have to be independently educated and find a lab that does include glyphosate or jacamba and other things that you find valuable towards a pure product that you can put in your rhizosphere or in your teas and have your plant systemically pull it in and make medicine out of it. So that, you know, that there's, and again, like Kelly said, there's different certifications, gluten free, you know, they created the gluten free certification, and then companies decided, I want to represent that they checked the company to see if they represent the community.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineAnd that's how it moves forward. And then you can do it in different countries. You're not stuck with Canadian National Organic, Thai National Organic, German National Organic. You're connected to human earth and purity.
BubblemanI love it. I love it. Well, I was lucky enough to be smoking organic resin this morning from If You Know, You Know, Living Soil.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineA lot of the people that win the events, often a lot of them are organic. It's a little bit of a teaching in itself if you want to go and see, oh, wow, how's the high grade in different parts of the world? What is bringing it together? A lot of times, not every time, it is an organic cultivated system, but not always.
BubblemanYeah. It's also like a very unique sort of aspect of the people who enter contests. Like if you enter solventless contests, then it's kind of like part of that culture to know that like you could have an advantage. If you're, you know, doing your own selections, it's also kind of these unique guys like Terps Over Yields, like Stuart from Minor Melts. These guys have like an absolute like obsession and they're really, really into, you know, the pheno hunting, the finding of these unique flavor profiles, whether they wash well or not.
BubblemanThey're not like, you know, because they're... I don't want to say their job is to win contests, but it's kind of like this, like if you stop and ask yourself, well, what are you doing this for? Like, why are you trying to just get to, where are you trying to get to? And it's like just having the best resin, having the nicest flavor profiles, the smoothest dab, right?
BubblemanThey're really just obsessed with it. You know, growing their own flower and choosing their own phenos. And it's awesome. But it is a very unique group who really are this small group of people who are competing against one another. Do you know what I mean? Considering like the big picture, which is like, You know, how many other people are outside of this unique group of like being at a Legends or a Heady Happenings or whatever it is.
BubblemanYou know, there's so many amazing events now as well for this culture. So many dinners and so many little cups and contests that, yeah, it's pretty awesome. Yeah, you're right, Caleb. You should say that out loud.
CalebThe others are competing in the race to the bottom, whereas, like Marcus is saying, there's a 1% that are competing with each other to make that super premium tier. And they're meeting all these events all over the country, all over the world. Yep. It's always the organizers are from these community pockets that where, you know, they can just stones throw away. They've got nice fire, regenerative, organic rosin.
BubblemanYeah, exactly. And a friend who owns a baller sushi joint in New York or something. It's like, we're going to have it at the sushi spot. I'm like, oh, you guys are awesome. I do love the fact that there's more and more events happening. I hope that... There's better spaces that open up. You know, I've heard that there's some pretty good spaces that have opened up in Vancouver.
BubblemanI'm going to one on 710 here that's supposed to be like on the top floor of a 24-story building. So it's supposed to be a pretty nice rooftop little patio thing that he's having. Don Crom is having a little 710 event. If I had more data, I would share it, but... Maybe I'll ask him and he can let us know. Any more info to share in your event?
BubblemanOh, sorry.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThe larger scale corporate farms often just grow clones. So it's true that those ones you're talking about, a lot of those people are like finding the unique selections. And, you know, like if you come to with the Skittles clone to an event, there could be five different entries from the same clone, you know, so it does become... Pretty useful to have like hunted it yourself because that would be your own flavor and that's that's pretty cool you know yeah we have a cool experience um being a part of the high secret cup um the the hash world cup put on by Puffco and Jolly Roger and Fahey and all that and also um The Living Soil Cup.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineAnd that's kind of, I would say, based out of the UK. You know, and there is a lot of UK family there. And really fun to see like sort of three different communities coming together and all the different hashes and then the different styles of rosin and New flavors and different textures. It was pretty unique. And I think in Berlin, they just opened up smoking facility or smoking clubs.
Speaker447 clubs just got licenses.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineSo we have just started seeing smoking clubs in Berlin, like stoners and ghosties. There's a few, a couple of them that are sort of known. Tribe is another one that a lot of people do events at, but now it will become more like you and you can come in from the outside and get your own medicine smoke in there.
BubblemanDude. Pretty cool. Awesome. That's what I'm saying, dude. To me, I'm excited about this shit. You know, will it be perfect? No. But it's...
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIn Oregon, it's sad that you don't have that in places like in the US as much. I think Hollywood and LA have kind of notoriously had really sweet spots. And very, I've seen through you some of the really cool spots that are starting to open up there. That looks really sweet. And New York, of course, Astro Club, all those places. Yeah. It's the best thing about it is the experience of coming together and It's trying medicine together and communicating.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThat's what it is.
BubblemanWell, Europe is still all under the guise of not that it's a guise because it's all even recreational is medical, whether you want to. That's the beautiful thing about perspective sometimes. It only really affects you depending on what your perspective is. And the other thing that's happening is happening regardless of your belief systems, your perspectives, right? Using cannabis, thinking it's recreational, obviously it's still medical. Europe is fully on the medical dial.
BubblemanLike it's all like very specifically, like if you could get into the almost ridiculousness of getting product Into the market in Europe and what will be required and probably because it will be so medical and I don't know how the recreational aspect of Germany will play out with them growing their own material and being able to sell it at their own clubs, which was originally the idea that had come out.
BubblemanIt'll be interesting to see it play out regardless. I'm just happy to try and get some product into that market.
SpeakerI'm super excited to Be around the culture. You know, I really love going to events and you can hear like maybe nine or 10 different languages in one smoking club. You know, it was nice going into smoking clubs where there was only dabbing that was allowed. That's sort of a new thing. You know, there wasn't a lot of tobacco smoke and There's just so many different facets of, I feel like one of the, one of the highlights of even being in a carbon body as a human being is being able to connect, being able to connect with other human beings.
SpeakerIt rises us up. It brings us a higher frequency if we want it to. I mean, it can also be devastating as well, but still that that's one of these gifts of being human and To mix cannabis and connecting with human beings, it's just, it's an incredible highlight. If you love cannabis and you love the culture and you get to sit inside of these spaces and have a smoke and talk to people and find out what they're feeling and thinking, and people are a little bit more open maybe because they're smoking
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineWe had a spectacular time next to Mossy Giant, Peter.
BubblemanYeah, what a nice dude.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineAnd Stefan is a historian, you know, and that's beautiful. And, uh, There you go.
BubblemanI'm repping.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineI mean, what an amazing creator, Peter Peters. I mean, he's just always creating. He's got the best energy. He's a large person. So he's just like so engulfing with his energy. And I think that Stefan is like this beautiful balance to him. I would say he's Um, super heartfelt. He's done so many interesting, fun things, you know, over the years with cannabis, um, from France and, uh, you know, just really loves the storyline behind it.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineSo they just came out with the, the, the Mexico edition of.
BubblemanYeah.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineGrand history of cannabis, which is so cool because a lot of us don't really know the history of Mexico and cannabis, maybe to the extent that we could, let's just say. And And then, you know, the art and Edu, Blue Ice, you know, being around. We shared space with Wendy and Corey from JP Toro and had beautiful conversations with them. Just sweet people. What a family, you know, they've been together for...
Josh Dragonfly Earth Medicine25 years or a long time. I can't remember the exact year, but a long time.
BubblemanLong time for sure.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineWendy and John.
SpeakerOh no, same as you guys.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineYeah, 30 years, I think.
SpeakerNo, I think even more than us. I think it's like you and Char maybe. I think you guys have a couple years.
BubblemanWe are 37 years right now. Yeah, I think so. Which three more years, we'll be at 40. That's insane.
SpeakerIsn't that insane?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThat's insane. So what year together, 91 or?
Bubbleman1989.
SpeakerYeah, 89. Yeah, we've been going since 93. I think those guys have been together since like 91. So okay.
BubblemanOkay, dude. Holy shit. I can't believe Char and I have been together since 89. And not like, we didn't like do the like breakup, get together, breakup. We just like got together. 1989. 2026. Yeah, that's major. Wow.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIt's good.
BubblemanIt's good to have a partner in this adventure. I'll tell you.
SpeakerSome kind of a commitment there that stays. I had a friend when I was a young woman and they had already been 40 years. And I said, can you like thumb up something as to how, you know, you made it work? Like, can you give some advice? She said, the best advice that I have in any relationship that you'd like to go long term is that you have to allow yourself, yourselves to fall in and out of love.
SpeakerIf you stay friends, then it's going to last. But if you allow yourself to fall in and out of that like deep, passionate love and see each other as people, then it will always grow. I thought that was good advice.
BubblemanYeah, well, I feel they were already 40 years in. Taking advice from someone who's 40 years in versus say like two and a half years in is like, there is weight to that sort of like, wow, so like four decades, like how old were you when that person told you that?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineI mean, we were probably 30 years or 20.
BubblemanYeah, so you weren't even as old as her marriage.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineWe were in diapers when they were there.
SpeakerYeah.
BubblemanThat's amazing. That's amazing.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineWell, I think our choice living on the land with the spring water and all the good food, it's been a good one for us personally. So we're pretty stoked.
BubblemanI'm sorry about that. No, you guys should have gotten an apartment and lived in the city.
SpeakerWe were just in Berlin.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineWe could have just been educators. It would have been amazing.
SpeakerWe were just in Berlin and living in an apartment in the boxy plots area. And you know, like I'm good with the people, but the rats are a little much. Really and truly like, and I'm not even afraid of rats. It's not that it's just at nighttime. If you're in an area where there's not a lot of people, they're going to be touching your toes and scurrying away as you're walking.
SpeakerIt's, it's just, it's a different type of energetic field that you have to put yourself into to deal with the rats that I personally I'm good without.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineWe would sit up, we sat on our balcony and you could hear rats.
BubblemanOh my God, it sounds beautiful, the picture you guys are painting. It makes me want to get on a plane and go to Berlin like ASAP. I will be honest, we have rats here. There's rats outside. I live by the water.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineBerlin has got to be one of the craziest cities in the world. I mean, you're talking about, well, this area that Friedrichstein, where the area is like
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineTheir buildings are, there's no roof in them. There's like a fully bombed out. Yeah, blown out. And graffitied with a full-blown restaurant in it. And somehow there's like a basement and there's like full-blown like electronic music all night long. There's climbing walls, skate parks, all in this old industrial...
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineSo it's a railroad repair area. So I mean, it's just unbelievable. And then in one o'clock at night, everyone's raging around and it really is mildly safe. I would say as freaky as it is.
BubblemanIt's going to be more different than your environment that you guys live in. That's the it must be just a total like, well, OK, I'm ready to go home now.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineAnd talk about like germs too. You're just like, oh my God, the whole city's just covered in a film. Like if you just let anything sit outside, there's this dark film comes over. It is fantastic.
SpeakerI love it though. I love it. I love, I like to be in Rishikesh. I want to be in India, Dharamsala. I like being in the Philippines. I want to be in downtown New York. I like being in Haiti. I like being on my farm. You know what I mean? I think that it's really as much as we can soak up the world and have amazing experiences, then we just do it.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineYou know, I mean, I super value coming back, putting my hands and pulling weeds like repetitively all day. And we recently people can look into Leo Tolstoy. I won't go into it, but I really love Leo Tolstoy and the concept of And he inspired the Duke of Boers and the Duke of Boers came over and inspired the Draft Dodgers.
BubblemanThe Draft Dodgers became the hippies and there's an actual thread of
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicinePeaceful protest in there. And Leo Tolstoy is one of the, he wrote the most, one of the most popular books in the world called War and Peace. And one of the things that, that I took out of the teachings of it is just living on the land, simple and doing repetitive work. It like does something to your body. It heals you. It's, And it's the simplest thing in the world.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineAnd it's very often what people move away from. I don't want to do this. I want a rock garden. I don't want weeds. Put down landscape and fabric. Stop everything from growing. And then you're like, hang on a second. I got to keep moving. And the one way to keep moving is to do something every day. If I go away and come back for two weeks, it's fucking crazy.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineBut if I do it every day, it's not a big deal. Weeds that come in, go in or take amazing amount of strength to pull out. But like a week long one, it's nothing. So super health for me, super health for my gardens, longevity for my life. And it's the simplest teaching in the world. There's a lot of Christianity in there, which I don't necessarily need that part of it, but that's fine for a lot of people.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineYeah, that was like the 1800s.
SpeakerA fact about Leo Tolstoy, I love this, just about governments and transitions. He actually went to jail for turning in his guns. He was part of a group. That were turning in their guns and they arrested them all and threw them into jail for very long, long, sometimes lifetime sentences for being activists to not have guns.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThat was the, that was the Duke of War story as well. The Duke of Wars were in Ukraine and then Leo Tolstoy was like a hundred years later. So, but learning from them, but they're peaceful. They put their arms in a fire. And they got kicked out of Russia.
SpeakerThings change.
BubblemanWell, check it out. Tolstoy, War and Peace, or Peace and War.
Etienne FontanWell, it's interesting as you talk about that because it made me think about, you know, religion and horticulture and Luther Burbank. He was a Swedenborgian, right? He was very much into, which is for those who aren't aware, there's esoterics in each religion and that was an esoteric cult off of Catholicism. So, you know, even the greatest horticulture to live, even, you know, found their ways into, you know, dogma, et cetera.
Etienne FontanHowever, it isn't needed, nor is it required. However, you know, what you're talking about is also what a lot of veterans have found, and especially why they've formed organizations like Swords to Plowshares, et cetera, is because, yes, you know, PTSD is not exclusive to combat and to war. However, Many of us who have been to war, et cetera, have found service to others and then especially working on the land for myself coming after war, working on a horse farm was the most therapeutic thing I could have done because I did no longer care about humans, human beings, once you have the duty to kill them.
Etienne FontanOnce you start doing that, it turns something in your soul that you have to fix and it's up to each one of us to figure out how to do so. And it's, again, not exclusive to war or to that. Any type of trauma is one of those things we need to learn and heal from. And there is something special about going to the land and going to sleep when the sun goes down and getting up with the birds.
Etienne FontanAnd as the sun comes up, that can really realign the soul. And working the land is something that changes humans completely. It's unavoidable. So now they're putting a finger on it for, you know, growth therapy and, you know, learning how to grow, but taking something and taking it from nothing and creating whatever it is you're growing to the ultimate expression takes a whole lot of skill. It's easy to try it the first time, but, you know, then you realize, oh, I have to build my soil.
Etienne FontanOh, that takes time. Thank you so much for joining us.
Etienne FontanAnd sustaining it through illness, et cetera, and then bringing it again to its ultimate expression is if you have not experienced it, it's hard to explain. But once you've done it, it's hard not to continue. If that makes any sense. It's one of those journeys. It's not a destination. It's the complete journey along the way that heals the soul. That is a lesson to anybody who goes through any type of trauma is to find something, be creative.
Etienne FontanBut if you're able to grow, wow. And then if you're able to grow cannabis through it, wow. Then if you're able to grow medical cannabis through it, wow. Good on you. That's some hard work, ladies and gentlemen. That's not easy shit. And everybody here will attest that. Oh, it sounds great on paper. It's another thing when, you know, you're out in the field and, oh, it's raining.
Etienne FontanAnd, oh, you found bugs. And, oh, how do I deal with this situation? You know, everybody's prepared for success. Nature teaches you the humility of failure consistently. Oh, my God.
BubblemanHumble Pie.
Etienne FontanOh boy. Well, again, right? There's no songs about farming, only laments.
BubblemanHumble Pie was definitely grown by a farmer.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineYeah, that's really powerful to be with horses after an experience like you went through.
CalebAnd I can only imagine.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThe healing and non-verbal communication. And I love that about animals. Like we don't always give ourselves credit that we communicate outside of talking, but I think each and every one of us totally can. And we prove it every time with our own animals and horses or something spectacular. You cannot. That's cool.
Etienne FontanYou cannot not be mentally aware. The first time you are not, that's when they'll fuck with you in the sense, why will they fuck with you? Well, I was taking, I took a horse. I had to take her in after I worked on a horse farm. So it was a dressage farm. So kids would come and they would ride the horses from time to time and do the jumps, etc.
Etienne FontanWell, This one horse had a girl that she did not like and afterwards she was mad and I wasn't really paying attention and I turned around, you know, how you turn them around right before you put them right into their stall and I did it too tight and she came right in and stepped right on my big toe and if you've ever had a horse put its full weight On your foot, it breaks things.
Etienne FontanAnd I knew immediately that something was not good happening. And of course, the horse then just swung her head right around to me, eye to eye, and just looked me right in the eye and just kind of like, just to let me know that I'm not happy. I'm letting you know I'm not happy, too. I know what I'm doing and fuck you. Just split your toe into a fucking mush.
Etienne FontanI immediately get her right in. I yelled to sis who it was her farm. I was like, turn on the hose because I knew it was going to be bad. As soon as I took one step, I looked down the toe of my tennis shoe, which was white, went pink, red. I'm like, oh shit, that's not good, and completely ripped my toenail right off. There is nothing like losing your big toenail, ladies and gentlemen, to teach you how to walk all over again.
Etienne FontanYeah, do not, do not highly recommend it. So what I'm saying is, You have to be smart around animals too. You better be self-aware around horses. And if you're not, they will remind you in ways that will keep you, again, nature reminding you where you are on the pecking list. And yeah, it brings you down a notch in reality, needless to say.
BubblemanNo, they're beautiful animals. There's no doubt about it. We have quite a few Esquitarian, whatever you call it, Esquarian animals. Not fucking saying that right but towards Pemberton and Squamish and there's some trails in Squamish I do in my electric skateboard that kind of go near the highway and it goes near this like four or five acre horse property and there's always a couple of horses and if you just stop by the fence and this is like way at the back of the property these horses will immediately like jog over and just like stare at you.
BubblemanAnd it's like, oh, wow, these like they want to see who's visiting their little square of property here. And they're very aware and sentient. And it's cool. It's definitely, you know, the classic. I always say the same thing to them, right? I always say, hey, man, why the long face?
Etienne FontanNay. That's a horse joke.
BubblemanIt's not a it's not body shaming. It's just an honest question. Motherfuckers have long faces.
BubblemanYeah.
CalebIf any of them say hey to you, you should say hey is for horses.
BubblemanHey is for horses. I say that a lot. I think my dad used to say that or something because I have definitely said that.
Etienne FontanMy stepdad and my dad too. Yeah. Hey is the first stage of horseshit is what my stepdad used to say.
BubblemanWow, that's even better.
Etienne FontanHe would say, hey, and he'd be like, yeah, that's first stage horse shit, right? Like, oh, yeah, because he grew up in the 20s. So he grew up, his father and them were loggers in Arkansas. So they all used teams of horses. So they literally first crack a thing in the morning. They were fucking dealing with the horses and getting the teams of horses ready. Yeah. Right.
Etienne FontanYeah. Back when you had 10 other brothers and sisters and shit.
BubblemanDo you guys have anything planned for 7-10?
Etienne FontanNothing more than usually. Yeah, what about you, Caleb?
CalebIs that Hash Week? Yeah, I'll be going to some Hash Week events probably.
BubblemanAsh Week? Tell me more about Hash Week. Why don't I know about Hash Week?
CalebDavid Nichols has been throwing these series of events around.
BubblemanDid you touch my volume on this? We can hear you loud and clear.
Etienne FontanLima, Charlie. We can hear you, Masonic.
BubblemanLet me fix this shirt. We got you. You can't hear us, but we can hear you. We can hear you.
CalebAll right, go ahead, Caleb. Yeah, so SF Hash Week will be, there's like brands, legal brands. We'll work with... Dispensaries and have exclusive drops of some of their rare stuff that you can pre-order and then go pick up. And then I'm sure there'll also be distributing some hashy genetics and then there'll be, there'll be bookended by some like parties and some cool locations. And I'm sure there'll also be another cool art gallery and lots of cool stuff.
CalebI hope someday there's a hash auction, just throwing that manifestation out there. That's sick.
BubblemanOrganic single source, Joshy.
BubblemanGold tier, if you know, you know.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineLoving it. I'm loving it. If you know, you know.
BubblemanDude, this shit is like a swamp.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThat's beautiful.
CalebThere's a separate if you know, you know down in California, which is kind of funny.
BubblemanYeah, well, if you know, you know. Say what now?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineI like that. I like that. We brought a bunch of hash burger out now. That's a nice variety. I like that one. Chemdog and GMO.
BubblemanYeah, I was talking about that with Mojave the other day. I think that's one that they do at Belushi Farms.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineOh, really?
BubblemanYeah.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineYep. The burgers are good. I guess it's if you love it, you love it type thing because it's the chem, you know, flavor in it. But It's hard not to love it if you kind of come from that era, I would say.
SpeakerRight.
SpeakerI think it's working now, maybe.
BubblemanI can hear you. Can you hear us?
SpeakerYes, yes, I can.
BubblemanWe could hear you when you first came in. Baby, did you mess with my volume? What's up, Asani?
SpeakerThat's my first, you know, I'm terrible. I don't know. I can't blame, I have to blame somebody. Good morning, everybody. What up, Caleb? What up, Marcus? How's everybody doing? Dragonfly Earth Medicine, what's good? How you guys doing?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineGood, sir. Doing well, thank you.
Etienne FontanHow are you there, Seacracker?
SpeakerMan, chilling. Had a late night, so late morning type of deal. But we're here, you know, chilling. Just kids, kids, kids. I got my one-year-old. He's walking more than ever. What is she now, six? She's cute, you know, enjoying the times.
BubblemanDude, you're in it, bro. This is like the greatest time ever. It's the truly the greatest time. I was thinking about my daughter the other day, who's now 25. And I'll look at pictures of her when she's little and I'll be like, whoa, that person is gone. Like that person doesn't really, like she's part of hers in there, but she's a, it's just a very unique time.
BubblemanLike love that shit up, dude. When your daughter's all little and shit, just like, this is amazing. Such a good time. Same with your boy. I remember when I had my son, I was like, all right, like, let's do it. We're gonna do this. We're gonna do that. We're gonna get, I'm gonna get the electric car thing. We're gonna play all these things. And I was like, my wife was like, he can't do shit for like three years.
BubblemanWhat are you talking about? He's like, It's not going to be like fucking playing Lego. He'll choke to death when you turn around and look away. I was like, oh, shit. Like, I just didn't realize when I when I was young, I didn't I didn't realize.
SpeakerYeah, I'm my first kid at like 18. He's 15 now, so it's like night and day. I'm still figuring out who I am and my identity and where I land in this whole scheme of things. But Lord know that at 18, I was way 15 years figuring it out behind from where I am right now. And I was kind of just thrown into the lake and start swimming, bro.
BubblemanKids will teach you quick.
SpeakerHe's chilling. He's happy. He's like, I'm like his big brother, dad type of situation where sometimes it's like the line is so thin that like he's, he confuses him. And even me sometimes it's like, oh no, right now it's dad time. Like I'm being stern right now. Like, like it's not playtime, you know, stop horse playing for a bit, you know, stop horsing around back to horses, full circle.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineI know we got to turn into like, when someone says this is horse shit, that that's a good thing. You know what I mean? Like, oh, this is horse shit.
BubblemanThat's a pile of horse shit. Hi, and welcome to horse church. Yeah. Dude, we like to experiment over here at church.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineOne cool thing about Lorenzo over at Terps Army is he grew up on a horse farm.
BubblemanYeah.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineSo he's super into horses.
SpeakerItaly, yeah. Yeah, my, my grandpa always made it like we would visit him up to like from like six years old all the way to like sixth grade. Every summer, every winter we got, I say it like this, we got shipped out to Mexico, you know, like all the kids, no adults. Like I had like five brothers, all you guys and your sisters, all your cousins, everybody straight to the airport, no parents, straight to Mexico, going to your grandparents' house.
SpeakerAnd my grandpa, he was blind. But he always like, but he got blind later on in life. Like he got shot at a liquor store because he wasn't trying to give up his stuff and he got like hit in the nerve and he went blind. But that grandpa, he would always make it his mission to have a horse and a cow when we landed so that we could do, you know, the cultural thing, you know?
SpeakerYeah, we would take our coach to his, our horse to his little, he had like a corral. You know, and we would drop him off there every night, pick him up every morning, saddle him every morning, walk him around every morning, give him his food, and the cow, we would, it's called ordeñando, you know, milking the cow, we would Milk the cow. And we did this, you know, as much as, you know, to all give it back to your uncle.
SpeakerLike you guys are kids. You got it out your system. You know, we go take them back to your uncle who really owns the horse and cow. But we did that. We grew up with, you know, horses and cows. And my great grandpa, he was like 80. And we didn't really have a relationship with him. He was kind of like the guy you would see around the ranch or the ranches when you'd be around Mexico or in the Pueblo.
SpeakerOh, that's your grandpa. Like your great grandpa. Okay. That's my blind grandpa's dad. He used to... Tame Horses. And he was like an 80-year-old man, like frail, freaking like, you know, kind of already has the hunched over, you know, posture, like, ha, ha, like.
BubblemanProbably strong as fuck. Yeah. Funny when you're a kid, eh? Look how frail grandpa is. It's like, bro.
Etienne FontanYeah.
BubblemanHe grabs you by the scruff of the neck.
SpeakerOh, yeah. Great Grandpa.
BubblemanThose are the kind of dudes that when the bolt or the nut is stripped, they just squeeze the pliers so hard that they flatten the nut back into something that can be turned.
SpeakerYeah. Horses are fun. Here in Compton, it's like a farm town too, so you'll be driving around, you'll see a lowrider and a horse, freaking cops and a horse, everything. Really? Yeah, they got horses. You'll hear it. Click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, just out of nowhere. That's awesome. Yeah, dude, that is wild. I...
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIt's a good experience to have out of L&A and all that as well or whatever. That's...
SpeakerOkay. That's depth to a person. That's really cool. Yeah, I'm friends with the Compton Cowboys. They're like a whole group of people out here and they like, you know, that's their thing. They're cowboys.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineNo way. Yep, yep, yep. Down the streets and stuff with the car. Yeah. I love the psychedelic cowboy kind of crossover with the rhinestones. I mean, it can get fucking sweet.
SpeakerThe rhinestone cowboy. Dude, the rhinestone cowboy.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineWhat do you know about pointy boots? I mean, is that just a certain part of Mexico or is that just a funny stupid?
SpeakerI know there's those crazy boots, but now we keep it, we keep it, you know, we keep it easy on the eyes, you know, we don't go too flamboyant, you know, like they do have Charles. The Charros is a big thing. You know, my, my deals are all Charros. They, they, they freaking get the saw guy and they get the bull and they, you know, they dance in the middle of the rodeo.
SpeakerThey're like the halftime rodeo show. Like that's in my family, like my Tio Beto and them, they're all Charros and shit. Like that's, that's my culture. You know, like when we were kids, All my cousins wanted a bull ride and I didn't because I was too much of a wuss, you know, and and I fell once and I was like, I never want to bull ride again.
SpeakerThey're like, throw me on again. I'm like, nah, you guys are like machismo. I'm good, bro. I don't need to prove nothing to a fucking bull.
BubblemanIt's like, bro, what are you talking about? Like, yeah, this is.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineDo they have any weed around there or is that like?
SpeakerYeah, so we're from a place called Mascota. So our whole lives, that's Mascota, Jalisco. Like the closest big city is like Puerto Vallarta is like an hour away, followed by Guadalajara, which is like three to four hours away. So we live in this super rural town on a super small ranch called El Ranchito that immediately translates to the little small ranch. That's where I'm from. That's where my grandpa's from.
SpeakerSo it's, it's like a, it's, it's like first person, uh, main character, fucking like type of thing, you know, like, oh, where's your grandfather from? Oh, he's from El Ranchito. Like what? Like, and Mascota means, uh, it just calls, it's Mas means more. And Mascota means like little pet. But if you, but it translates to Mas more, Mota, Mas Mota is what they call where I'm from.
SpeakerMore weed. Because that's where they used to grow weed at and spread it around. And sure enough, I went to go bury my grandfather like three years ago where we're from. And I hadn't been since I was a kid. Now I'm an adult. Everyone remembers me. I remember everybody. I'm very familiar with the small little town and the ranch that we're from. There's only like 10 families on the ranch.
SpeakerEverybody knows everybody. I know them. We go back. And my Tio Eddie, who lives on like one ranch over, And word gets around, like, hey, your Theo Eddie, he grows weed. Like, he's always grown weed. Like, since you were a baby, he's always grown weed. So I go back, and my Theo Eddie comes to the ranch, and I'm like, hey, what's up with that weed? I heard you guys grew weed.
SpeakerDo you guys have any, like, legacy-type varieties? Like, fuck, no, we don't. Like, we got this shit we call the cherry. And I was like, well, fuck, bring me some of that cherry over, because we're going to be smoking cherry while we're here. And he did. He brought me a bunch of, like, you know, outdoor-y stuff. Outdoor weed, you know, outdoor, it smelled floral, smelled like, you know, floral, sweet, like old school type weed.
SpeakerI couldn't even put like a name on it. And keep in mind, I'm very good at putting names on smells, right? Like this is like a floral type strain, like AK-47 or something, right? And whatever, we smoke it and I keep it and yeah, turns out my... I went through Puerto Vallarta and I flew in
SpeakerAnd I went like, it was a family trip because we went to go bury my grandpa. But I'm a selfish piece of shit. I don't, I have no shame. I still took my weed, my bong, my pipe, my email, beans, the whole nine, bro. Hash, everything. I've done this before. I've flown to places with stuff. Puerto Vallarta, they have like this thing where they like, like they randomly check people, but you know, profiling is a thing.
SpeakerSo they, they seen me, they're like, come here. I'm like, fuck. They open my shit and they take out the pipe. They take out the I-spire. I had like an I-spire E-rig, you know. I had a disorderly conduct. I had an American glass. I had quartz nails. I had a throwaway slurper. Not a real slurper, but I had a real highly educated 45 banger. I had all this stuff on the table.
SpeakerI probably had like... Thank you so much for joining us.
SpeakerI'm like, they're like, we're gonna have to do something about this. I was like, dude, I will give you money. They're like, come over here with me. We go to a little window. You just see like the workers start handing each other their own debit cards to each other, like on some weird shit, you know? And they're like, that'll be 500. I'm like, 500? Easy pickings. 500 pesos?
SpeakerThat's like 40 bucks. They're like, no, USD. I was like, still, take my money. And they're like, here, have your shit back. They're like, we're gonna have to keep the seeds though. Thank you for watching. I'll see you next time.
SpeakerNo, they didn't put me on no list because they were over there doing funny business themselves, you know? Yeah, totally.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineI got, we got, they found some hemp seeds in our bags at the Vancouver airport going into the U.S. The first trip after COVID, we're like, fuck, and they profiled me too. They were just like this and Kelly walked through and they're like, are you with someone? I'm like, no. And they asked me for my bags. They go through everything. Open my bag. This smells like weed.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineI'm like, I really don't think it does, but you can say whatever you want. And then they started going through everything. And then the last thing in the bottom of the water bottle, in the water bottle, underneath tea, I was like, there are some seeds in there. And they pulled them out. They charged me $500. Huh. But they have me and my whole entire family now on a fucking like narcotics list every fucking time we enter the goddamn country, the U.S.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineSo we're U.S. citizens. We're coming back into the U.S. We get literally fucking treated like we're murderers for a seed. It's like so metaphorical. Like in Oregon where, you know, our home is in the U.S., like totally you can have hemp seeds of any kind of seed. Same in British Columbia, no problem. But at this magic moment, the federal border, they act like you're literally transporting fucking fentanyl or something.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineAnd it's the most. I don't want to find out. And I wish.
BubblemanMe neither.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineI wish there was corruption in that moment. I wish I could have paid someone $500 and saw a bunch of debit cards going like this.
SpeakerI'm like, yeah, that's my boys. All good.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineYou know? Yep. I wish, but yeah, so that was like five years later. It's still the same thing.
SpeakerLast year around this time for Berlin is when I got hemmed up on my way to Mary Jane and I haven't been traveled since. They probably have me on a list like LAX or whatever, but I haven't found out and I don't, you know, nothing's got me out of my seat to go try to find out either. I've just been licking my wounds for a year now and I had major FOMO with everybody at Mary Jane, but Sounds kind of like whack, but like been there, done that.
SpeakerLike I did my product placement and, you know, people know who I am in Germany. My seeds are in Germany. Like the job is done, you know, but it would be nice to go shake hands and kiss babies. Don't get me wrong, but fuck it.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineYou know, not during Mary Jane. Don't, don't go during Mary Jane. Go another time. And then you have to like send shit out there and not bring it to the first.
BubblemanI can barely hear you, Josh. That's good game. I can barely hear you. Every once in a while when you lean back, it's like your voice almost goes to zero. You're low as it is, but we can hear you.
Etienne FontanThe microphone is low.
BubblemanOkay. The microphone. We'll have to get you to Colorado Mace to check out these beans once we get them going on. Hell yeah, bro. That'd be fire. Colorado is a stone's throw away, bro. So that's like, you know.
SpeakerEasier than freaking trying to go to Barcelona or anything, you know?
BubblemanDude, what's that parm all about?
SpeakerThe what?
BubblemanIt's something parm.
SpeakerOh, the parmesan, the pink parmesan? The pink parmesan. So it's grounded genetics. He's like Batman Robin. He's the Robin of karma genetics. So karma's like very respected, headbanger, dope-ass breeder. His, like... His right hand breeder type man from the outside looking in is grounded genetics. And he's one of my favorite breeders. I've been breeding with his gear, growing his gear for about three, four years now. And like...
SpeakerHe's like a picture like a racetrack and everybody has the fastest cars with the fastest specs and all up to date. That's what like breeding is with some of the breeders. Like you got the wizard trees and people that breed with those type of fast strains. I call them fast. Like they're just extravagant. He's kind of been on top of that. For a while now, you know, and his name is making more of a ripple here in the States now.
SpeakerPeople are becoming more privy to them as they become more engaged in this practice, you know, popping seeds and knowing breeders. But yeah, it was pink. It was pink parm mango. That's what it was. Yeah. Yeah. Pink Parmesan. So that's Exodus cheese, Chemdog, papaya crossed into mango starburst. And it's a papaya cheese receiver. With the donor being the super crazy acrid mango marmalade cherry mango. Like you're going to get either or or a new material.
SpeakerYou know, we always hope for new material, but either or is.
BubblemanYeah, yeah, exactly. Fuck yeah, dude. I am stoked to be cracking some Masonic seeds for the Bubble Man brand in Colorado.
SpeakerYeah, I sent you the heaters only. I made sure to send you, you know, only stuff that is promising, aromatic, you know, for hash. No, no train wreck, you know, no, no disrespect to nobody. No sativas, no. We love those too, but we're trying to get hash going on, you know, so. Starman. Starman. Starman. Yeah, that's, I mean, it's like, Talimon times Mango Starburst. It's so easy.
SpeakerIt's just there. It's like, just put it in a seed. And that's what I did, you know? Mango banana. Mango banana. Yep. Mango. It is. It is very much a mango banana. 100%.
BubblemanAnd then Ozzy, Ozk77 crossed with Mango SB. OG, Eddie Lep, Skittles.
SpeakerReally? Yeah, that's Ozzy K. That's an OG Skittles leaning variety crossed into the Mango SB. I love Ozzy K. I think OG Skittles, you know, very subjective, very bias to me, but it's like... It's an easy buy when I'm making my purchases and people are like working so hard to put everything in a jar and hoping the customer buys something. That's one of the easier ones for me to be like, oh, let me get two of those, you know?
SpeakerHell yeah.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIs the mango and the SB like a cross or is the SB from the mango?
SpeakerSo let me let me break it down. So higher ground. This is this is his this is his spotlight. He's the one that made Mango Starburst 36 namesake. Right. He grabbed those flames from a Starburst OG, which is a Fire OG Bubba strain who was popularized more so by like Crash, Cash Tree Mason.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineHe's like one of the first veganic growers, super expensive, heady weed, right? New York and all that. I've seen all that.
SpeakerI've smoked the Starburst OG, you know, and I've grown it. I had the clone. I got it straight from Ogre Farms like in 2016, crossed it to Wilson.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineDude, Ogre Farms, they were done pure a long time ago. Yeah.
SpeakerAnd I grew the Starburst OG. I remember it. It wasn't as aromatic and it didn't have like that grapefruit, mango, cherry, citrus, some might say, pop, right? Which is very in your face, right? Starburst OG, on the other hand, is kind of like Empty wallet, like poof, like where's, like what are we, someone's got to suggest something to you. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, you're right. It does, I guess, you know, sure.
SpeakerYou know, that's Starburst OG to me, you know, that's just where I'm at with how I perceive that strain. So Starburst OG, not the most aromatic, but at the time that it was being platformed, it was probably one of the more visually appealing frosty type strains, which made it, Status quo at its time, right? That's why people kept it around, right? And it probably grew a romantic relationship where we dragged her all the way to this point, if people still grow her as herself, the clone-only elite Starburst OG.
SpeakerSo, Higher Ground grabbed that clone and he crossed it to the KC-36 from KC Beanbrains, which emphasizes that grapefruit... Type Terp, which is what is being pushed forward. So like if you go get a jar of 710 Labs Higher Ground SB36 offering, you're getting very much the father's aroma, not the Starburst OG. So it's Starburst OG times KC36. The mango came to life from the KC36 name because that's what it represents.
SpeakerSo he crossed the Starburst OG to the KC36 and made Starburst, no, Mango Starburst. Found a selection in there, the 36, and that's what he breeds Fords with. And he crosses it back to probably a Mel that he found from the F1 population, not the original KC 36 Mel that he used in the F1.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineYeah.
SpeakerSo that's how the mango came into play. It came from the KC36 name. Yep. And I use it interchangeably. Starburst, SB, Mango, SB Mango.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIt's all the same. Totally. I get it. Yeah. We grew that one last year. We're growing it again this year. And we have the Straw, Straw Nana, Starburst as well. Fire.
SpeakerFire. I... John came to my house, higher ground, and I didn't even know who he was on some secret boss shit. I had a friend. He's all like, hey, someone's going to come to your house. They're going to meet you. I need you to do a favor for me. Whatever. I have a nice place in LA. People could come meet people there. Whatever. This guy comes to my house.
SpeakerI'm just being me. Nice guy. I show him my backyard. At the time, I'm doing natural selection populations. And he's like, you have like different males out here. Like, what's up with that? I'm like, that's what I'm doing. Like, whatever, dude. Like, let's go inside there. We smoke. He leaves me two jars. He goes home. I'm looking at the two jars and it says higher ground on the top.
SpeakerIt says mango on the bottom. I'm like, you fucking idiot. That was him. He was just at your house. Like you didn't, you asked them all the wrong questions. If anything, you just, you treated him like you're supposed to treat people like just regular. You don't know him. You're oblivious to who he is. You can't fan out. You can't pick his brain. He's just the guy at your house.
SpeakerYou're going to treat him with that respect. He goes home and Higher Ground starts to have like, and I smoked the resin and I'm like, yo, this is good. Like I need this in seed form, right? So I'm smoking Starburst and he has like a pop-up at the Astor Club like weeks or months later and he's selling his seeds and they're expensive, but I bought them. I bought like a $500 pack of the F2s and I bought a $250 pack of the F1s.
SpeakerThank you so much for joining us.
Speakerthrew them in the depths and i was done with f4s by july right so i was just like and i'm and i told higher ground were they sweet oh my god it's it's what i wanted you know i i seen higher ground at uh at uh i think i i seen you there too where where the the meeting place where we went to go to ego clash yeah i've seen higher ground the looping soil center or whatever no the solar One of those places.
SpeakerAnd the place in Barcelona, the place in Barcelona, the meeting ground. Yeah, one of those places. And I'm talking to John. I'm like, hey, I'm using your gear to make a lot of gear. Basically telling him, like, I'm unleashing the fucking crack and the levee's breaking. You know how it is when I grab this thing. And he's just like, yes. And sure enough, here we are today, like, It all came from there.
SpeakerI'm very transparent. I'm very paying it forward. I'm very paying homage. There's no, I don't, I don't, my ego doesn't get flustered if, you know, like all credit is due to where it came from, you know, and, and it's very much higher ground spotlighted the KC 36 and it came from the Starburst OG and the KC 36 from another, uh, the Netherlands.
BubblemanOkay. Which one was that now?
SpeakerKC bean brains.
BubblemanThe one that all of these created was that the, uh,
SpeakerThe Starman or the... Oh no, the Mel, the F3 Mel that I use is the Starburst F2 times the Starburst F2.
BubblemanBecause I was kind of asking you about, I asked you about the Starman and I asked you about the OZK 77 crossed with the Mango SB. I think that's the one you had been explaining. And then I also have the Pink Parm Mango. Where did that mango come from in that Pink Parm Mango?
SpeakerAll the mangoes, SB, Mango SB, I use that... I use it interchangeably. If I tell you it's XYZ Mango, XYZ SB, XYZ Mango SB, it's the same thing.
BubblemanIt's just ways of making it shorter.
SpeakerSame thing with Tropicana. Tropicana, Tropicana Cookies F2, all the same thing.
BubblemanHow about Barb Burst BX? Oh, that's an easy one.
SpeakerIt's Barbara Budd, great gardener, seed stock, popped it. Very much a barb, you know, like peaches in your face, candy, crossed into the Mango Starburst, F2, and then crossed back into the F3. So that's what we got right there. Oh, shit, dude. Yep, yep, yep.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineI got some White Thorn Rose Paradise Punch Millers.
SpeakerYeah, those are good. All those White Thorn, I grew his, bro, they're really good. And those, I dropped the ball because I didn't re-veg, I didn't take clones. You know, sometimes I get stuff and I'm just like, oh, this is going to be around forever.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineAnd then it's like. No, the White Thorn grows, it's like, oh shit, that's fucking coveted.
SpeakerCandy, bro, just, you just want to bite the bud. You're just like, fuck, it's ready. That's why I deal with the White Thorn.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineParadise Punch and Moonbow does with it. You know, the Moonbow's an odd flavor, kind of.
SpeakerAnd I like it. Moonbow's fire too. Skittles, gassy, cushy type string, you know? I like that a lot.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThey're in the College Park Gush Mints from last year. College Park Gush Mints. That was from a Southern Oregon breeder. There's Ziploc seeds in Southern Oregon, as well as some other unnamed kind of family members down there doing some pretty killer like large scale cash runs. So we got a bunch of those and we're working on some sort of photo period versions of it because we own that nice work.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThat's beautiful. Another thing about the joints I want to come back to, Marcus, because after hanging out over and With Lorenzo and we have hash holes. And this is a good one for you, Masonic, because I was talking to Lorenzo about this, but we've got hash holes and donuts, which is basically the the snake in the middle and it hollows out in the center. But and doinks often are just large cannabis joints, not with hash in it.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineBut what's the name? What's a good name for like hash mixed in with the flour all through and then rolled?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineI personally like putting all the hash into the flour and then mixing it all together and then smoke it. You can smoke it kind of more normal, you know, with the hash holes or the donuts, you kind of have to smoke it a certain way or it like runs or, you know, little puff puff pass type thing. Sometimes I feel like I'm not like Soil Grown, Storm, Storm, Storm, Storm, Storm, Storm, Storm,
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineRight. Hash in it. I'm pretty sure. But whatever. I'm into like learning. That's why I'm bringing it up. So what's the community saying? Like is is a doink with hash or is a doink without hash? There could be another word.
CalebBoth.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineOK.
CalebI think the doink is just a size reference. So any of these things can be a doink. Just like any of them could be a pinner. Like those really pathetic pinner hash holes.
BubblemanLike this to me is a doink.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineAnd this all comes from the guy who was smoking a doink in Amish country in the fucking cornfields.
BubblemanIs that literally what doink comes from?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThat viral dude smoking doink with Amish or whatever? Is that... Where it came from?
SpeakerYeah, rest in peace. That guy.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineRight.
SpeakerYoung, young King Dave. Really?
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThat's pretty fucking funny. I mean, but not funny because he did die. So that's not funny.
SpeakerBut anyway, I think I think so me, I recently judged the Olympics box, right? And I did it live on camera. I've judged a bunch of things before. I've been flown out. Pay to be a judge. I've been to Ego Clash. I've been to Legends of Hash here in L.A. You know, and I've judged these things because people felt like I was worthy. Right. And now there's like a whole new there's the new the new kids are here, you know, and you have to embrace the kids.
SpeakerYou know that fucking they're new. It's their time to shine. And the Zalimpics box exists. And this is like my third time doing it. And, and I've, I've been, I've judged things and I've smelled everything and I've called it like, oh, this is going to win. I've done it with Masters of Rosin. I've done it with Zalimpics boxes. I've done it at Legends of Hash. I've done it multiple times over.
SpeakerI'll smell the jar and be like, this is going to win. And it, and it like, like Nostradamus, it wins, right? I've done it on multiple occasions. I grow, I smoke, I like to smoke good. I don't like to smoke okay. I don't like to smoke mediocre. I like to aim for like, oh, where's the fire? That's what I want to smoke every day. That's what I aim for.
SpeakerSo like, just to get your head to like, what I like. So I'm doing the Zaolympics box. And I smell everything. And there's categories, the most unique, the gassiest, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So I'm kind of like gauging what's everything. And I think I'm pretty spot on, even like when I go look back at it. So I start to roll the joints like a regular joint, like we've always rolled joints.
SpeakerYou grind the weed, you put it in the joint, you lick it, you roll it, you compact it from both sides. That's a regular joint. Guess what, guys? That's not good enough anymore. That's not good enough anymore. According to everyone nowadays, the glass tips is going to make your weed taste better. I, and you might get to experience the setting and the experience is better, but it is not.
SpeakerHere's my thing. So you're telling me the bad weed is going to taste better. No, the bad weed's bad already. It's not going to taste better. And that's what I'm trying to. And, and. And it's all rolled the same. I didn't roll one with glass tip, one with... It's an equal playing field. Everyone got smoked the same. And they're just like, ah, like going crazy. Because I'm telling them like, dude, out of this 35 entry box, I'd probably spend my money on two of these.
SpeakerAnd of course, the people that organized the event, they're like, dude, fuck you. You know, like... Like you're putting me on the front street like that. And I'm like, it is what it is. And they're just like, you're wrong. You roll like a savage. Whatever, dude. I could roll a proper doink too, but I'm not going to roll up mids like that. What's the point? Where's the joke here?
SpeakerSpend 10 minutes rolling it up just like a hit it once and be like, that's trash. What the hell? Crazy, bro.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineWe live in a weird age. I was driving around LA with these guys from the UK looking at different herb and whatever. And I rolled up a joint in the back of the car and with no filter of any kind, like what you're talking about. And they were like, whoa, you can do that? And he's like, bro, I told you, like some people don't use like filters and shit.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineI'm like, wow, are you serious? You don't even know you can smoke a fucking regular joint.
SpeakerAnd they were all on my head. I was like, I want to see one of you guys come to my dab station and line me up a dab. You wouldn't know where to even start with this Terp Slurper. You'd be like, yeah, dude, you want to like, I'm better at smoking me. Come here. Come over here. Look at my mothership, bitch.
BubblemanLook at my mothership, bitch.
SpeakerBut I don't like to get like that. I don't like to get like that.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineSo I just let them live. I let them live, you know? Let them laugh. I'm with you on that. And now you see like these really cool little circular things with a lid on it. You open it up and there's like six different glass tips. And they're all fresh and clean and they look nice. The one thing that's nice about it is the diameter of the glass tip kind of tells you what size the joint's going to be.
SpeakerAnd here's my thing. I'm not bashing the guys. I embrace it. Dope. Roll up. Be immaculate. Be like luxurious and be cool and dope. But don't try to put my smoking experience and my palate down because I don't roll with a glass tip. I'm not saying you're less or more of the way you do it. Don't do it to me, bro. Take it easy.
BubblemanDude, I don't even smoke with tips, period. I roll joints and it irks people. They're just watching me smoke. The end is all like, you know, starting to get to me like. The sooner I can't suck through the joint, the better that weed is.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineI like the glass tip because with. Wood or any other filter like there's also I roll it without filters all the time but like it is nice that when it burns down to the bottom like there's nothing burning at the bottom like you can smoke the weed all the way to the tip and there's never a change in the in the well there's a change in the flavor based off where you are in the joint that's fine that's true but you can smoke it all the way down and I kind of like smoking like All of it.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineYou know what I mean? I don't generally smoke like half the joint and throw it away. Like I'll even... And my family gets mad at me. I'll even bong hit like the bottom of the joint because I'm just stupid. But I also love it, you know? So it's just... But the glass tip, as silly as it is, I'm just like, I kind of like it. And then the...
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThe holes in the glass tip, like there are certain diameter holes in the glass tip which restrict the airflow. So part of the glass tip is also restricting the airflow in a way that allows the joint to smoke better and more evenly throughout, which is like whatever. It's a formality. But that's cool, you know.
SpeakerI was at the proper doinks workshop. Thank you for watching.
SpeakerAnd he's like, come smoke with me. Like, I got my friend. I'm not going to. He's a good friend of mine. He's like, he's going to roll us up a joint. I'm like, whatever, you know, like to keep in mind, like to them, that's fucking dope. Like if they got like the coolest roller to roll up for them, that's the equivalent of us. And I'm not even into that.
SpeakerLike if someone having a crazy heady, like, yo, let me shred your heady. Like that's kind of their thing. I'm not like that either. So to me, it's like double whammy. I'm already not. I'm respectful, but I'm not impressed both ways, right? I'm just like, ah, whatever, you know, who cares? So he goes, we're standing next to homie rolling up the joint and he's like, any minute now.
SpeakerHe's like, I guess it's a masterpiece, you know? And you could tell like he's starting to get red, you know? And because he invited me to smoke and dude is right there like, It's taking a while, you know? And he's just like, any minute now, you know? And it's all like, you know, let's see how long this lasts, you know? Let's see if they can wait forever to smoke it until the day they die.
SpeakerMaybe one day they'll be like, I'm done, bro. Give me the fucking joint. Take the fucking tip out. I'm trying to smoke right now. Like, get me out of here, bro.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIt's coming out perfect. And if it's not perfect and there's a little weed down in where the filter is, oh shit, you fucked everything up, you know?
BubblemanSome people, for some people, it's an art form. For other people, it's like, I'm just rolling a joint to smoke.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineWe've had a really cool guy named Fat Andy Rolls from Michigan.
BubblemanYes, Fat Andy Rolls.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineIncredible joints that he's rolling and the smiley face, you know, and all the different things. It is pretty insane how good the professional rollers get.
BubblemanYeah, this is a Fat Andy Rolls smiley face. Oh, that's fire.
SpeakerI fuck with that. That's insane, dude. It's like a milli, but in a joint.
BubblemanYeah, using rosin instead of fucking. I feel like it would be easier to use bubble because, you know, like bubble that wasn't six star, obviously, because, wow, rosin melting. The fact that it stayed in there and held its own is... Just super fucking cool.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineMuch love to you guys. I'm going to take off now and have to take off for the rest of the day.
BubblemanEnjoy the rest of your day, brother. Say bye to Kelly for us and thanks for coming in.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicineThank you.
BubblemanI'm going to finish a few more bowls here. Go till noon today. Got another half hour, 40 minutes of talking about genetics and flavors and all the things we love. I will say this, not smoking flour for almost 30 years. Every once in a while, people would offer me flour that was a resin I wanted to smoke. You know, I would vaporize it, but it wouldn't be the same.
BubblemanBut getting like the haze flour gifted to me and being able to roll that up and smoke it is and was an absolute like pleasure.
SpeakerSo speaking of haze, guess who invited me to hang out? Tom Hill. Tom Hill. Fucking Tom Hill, dude. Out the blue. Out the blue. And I was starstruck. I'm a fan. I'm an ultra fanboy. I'm first in line. I'm getting the seeds. You know, I'm at Emerald Cup. I'm at Spanibus. I'm a fan of this thing, right? And I didn't know Tom Hill knew who I was or anything.
SpeakerI just, I know who he was. Capulator's like, oh, Tom Hill. Crickets and Cicada did a Tom Hill drop. I popped the seeds. I've had Tom Hill in my garden for like three years. Randomly, he reaches out. He's like, we should hang out. And I'm just like, fuck, yeah. And sure enough, he's like, yeah. He's like, come to this beach city. I got some haze on me.
SpeakerAnd he's like, he knows I dab. He's like, lay off those fucking dabs for a day. And I'm just like, no. And he's like, smoke this shit for a day. So he gave me this haze, Tom Hill haze, the Calypso. And he's like, triple X. And he's like, just smoke it, bro. He's like, just smoke it. Like, He's like, and see what happens. And I don't know what happened, but I smoked it.
SpeakerAnd then like the next day, I cleaned my whole backyard, right? And then I washed all my dogs. I washed all my dogs. And then I grabbed a barbecue pit. Like the whole backyard is upset. Like I renovated it, you know? Like it was a little dirty, unusable, now it's clean. And I don't know if it was the weed, like LSD, all you need is like a drop to change everything.
BubblemanI know, it was the weed. That's exactly what you do on Weed Like That. In fact, unless you're like super athletic, because if you're super athletic, then you end up like, like going and running six miles or just doing like some, like for me, I love snowboarding on Hayes. Love it because it's like endless energy. Let's go. You're not getting tired. You're not getting lazy. It's the opposite of like Mersene and Couch.
BubblemanIt's just, fuck, it's wonderful. Look at that, dude. Bro, I'm coming over right now.
SpeakerVery, very, very gracious of this offering. You know, just keeping my head down and this type of energy comes my way sometimes, you know, like, you know, fucking Tom Hill out of everybody. And it turns out, like, his roots are here in the hood. Like, you know, So, Watts and Compton used to be a white neighborhood. So, like, his grandparents and everything, they went to high school here in this neighborhood.
SpeakerAnd it's a trip. It's a trip. Like, it's a trip. It's a trip. And he's like, yeah, that's where we're from.
CalebAnd I'm just like, how? He's like, yeah. And I'm like, oh, yeah, makes sense.
SpeakerLike, you are. Like, George W. Bush, he's from Compton. They're from Compton. Who would have ever thought? Fucking. Yeah. That is pretty wild for sure. Pretty wild, pretty wild. Yeah, he was telling me his dad or his grandpa went to Watts High School, which is like, that school don't even exist anymore. Watts, Watts is like, If you guys aren't familiar with like LA or the United States, like, or like just LA culture, Watts is like the Mecca of all the, of, of everything.
SpeakerLike Watts, Compton, South Central, Watts is like where it all kind of that, that subculture and a lot of that energy started right there. Interesting. Yeah. I've never been.
BubblemanRight.
SpeakerThere ain't nothing to see out here besides the towers, a little culture shock, you know, like tacos, like there ain't shit to be out here.
Etienne FontanDude, I love tacos.
SpeakerUnless you live out here. I live here, so I'm here all the time. Yeah, exactly. I have no choice. I do have a choice, but I like it. I decided to stay. Yeah, man, you gotta, you know, you gotta put your roots somewhere.
BubblemanMy roots, I, you know, my, I think my family thought they were going to be in Manitoba, but I think at 22 or 23, I moved out West and have just been living out here ever since. And just, uh, in a kind of quiet little village seaside neighborhood, you know, you just blink and you drive by, you don't see us at all. Very short lived on the highway.
BubblemanAnd it's, uh, It's good, but yet it's still, it's worldly enough to be 25 minutes from the city of Vancouver and about an hour from Whistler, British Columbia. So it's like a good spot. We got like the whales out front, orcas and humpbacks and shit like on the ocean right out front. But then for in less than an hour, you can drive and be, you know, on the top of some epic mountain that you can ski or snowboard down.
BubblemanSo it's definitely... The place that my soul sort of drove me to, not to mention, dude, in the 90s when I came here, this place was like hard weed culture. Like, it was crazy. You guys had some crazy prohibition going on down there in a way that, like, made us flourish. We were just like, in the 90s, I don't even know how many metric tons of flour was sent from British Columbia to...
BubblemanThe U.S., all of the states for that matter. Easter to the beast coast. The beast coast, yeah. Well, before it was beasters, it was just like nice flour, right? The beasters was like a whole beginning of... A combination of drying not happening anymore and people, because the drying didn't, because they were bouncing the flour. A lot of people bounce the flour and, you know, I've said it many times, we didn't have that luxury because the buyers were US and they wouldn't.
BubblemanThey wouldn't buy the bounce flower. So it was generally like the proof was in the pudding that some of those buyers were bouncing their material before they were selling it into the market. And then it started, you know, then groups here were like, well, we're just going to dry it less and make it harder for them to bounce that resin off of the plant. And that became the real bad combination of beasters.
BubblemanAnd then it was just terrible weed. At that point, it was like, you know what? Just throw 2,000 pounds of the worst quality weed you could possibly find. It was a weird thing for that timeline for California because it was short after early 2000s that California just was like, took that over from all of Canada. They just were like, hold my beer, Canada. Boom. Cali packs everywhere.
Etienne FontanThat happens when you flood out 5,000 clones a week. Is that what happens? For years. Kind of works.
BubblemanYeah. Dude, I remember the clone scenario Shanti Baba had going on in Bellinzona in the south of Switzerland back in like the early 2000s. And it was, I'd never seen anything like it. Like he must have been doing 20 or 30,000 clones a day. Like He had a silo, bro, with a train that came into it.
Etienne FontanI know. Ed's the one who helped him expand. He heard about what we're doing, so Ed went over there and helped and showed him what we were doing. And boy, did they fucking blow the fuck out.
BubblemanYou want to hear a funny story, Edgar? I was in Lugano. I was hanging out with Breeder Steve because he's who I knew, and I kind of barely knew Scott Blakey, but... I thought it was super cool that Steve's wife had just had a daughter. My wife had just had a daughter and Shanti Baba's wife had just had a daughter. So all three of us had daughters within like 30 days of one another born.
BubblemanAnd I was kind of trying to get us together. And I ended up over at Shanti Baba's and I went to his greenhouse with Gypsy Nirvana. And at one point I was like, hey, listen, like Steve lives in Lugano. We should all get together. And he goes, oh, man, that guy's a heat score. He says, Steve's a heat score. And I'm like, oh, really? I'm like, OK, like, I don't know.
BubblemanI thought Steve had his head down pretty good. I didn't feel heated out. Anyway, I go back. I tell Steve this. He just chuckles. Later that night, we're watching the like Lugano News and fucking Shanti Baba's on the Lugano News. with like a train going into this silo this silos just got like a mountain of weed in it and he's like this is like literally a year before he ended up getting like arrested and put in prison and i just thought you know like kettle black dude like what are you calling breeder steve a heat score when you're on the the news in like with a train oh my gosh dude with a train
BubblemanWhatever the scenario is.
Etienne FontanI've known drug dealers, but not many that I know had trains.
BubblemanI'm sure I mixed up. Well, there was train tracks. Whether there was a train in there, it was him in this silo. There was a big pile. I just remember it vaguely. It was 25 years ago. But if you're watching this, Scott, by all means, reply and let me know what I got wrong. But that's how I remember it.
SpeakerFirst dab of the day, baby.
BubblemanOh, wow. That's one of the best dabs of the day, especially when it's such a beautiful, flavorful. Man, I'll tell you, I had no idea I was going to get gifted all these beautiful flavors from my buddy the other day. Candy fumes. He hooked me up with the candy fumes.
BubblemanHere, check this out. I thought it was a nice picture. I got this because I went and got this lavender plant the other day and then he gave me this candy fumes and I was like, dude, did these not go together like peanut butter and jelly? Hell yeah, they do, is the answer.
CalebJelly and jelly.
BubblemanJelly and jelly.
Etienne FontanWould that be jelly and jam at that point?
BubblemanIt could be. It could be. Look how good the magic hour makes resin look.
Etienne FontanWell, it almost makes it look golden.
BubblemanIt absolutely does. But if you look underneath at the bottom, it isn't golden. It's that whiter color all along the bottom. It's the only part that the sun is touching that's lighting it up and making it look that more amber-ish, golden, dark color. It's actually very light colored shit. And tasty as fuck. I love me some tasty dabs, I'm not gonna lie. I also will say, now that I'm smoking joints, I have really been enjoying this hash.
BubblemanThis sort of brick hash that I made maybe eight months ago now. It's real like, it's got a nice kind of texture to it. It's like, Nice and deep and hashy, you know, where you get rid of all of, you get rid of so much of the bouquet of flavor profile that when you end up with that dominant beta-caryophyllene, that peppery smell, it really brings home the smell of traditional hash.
BubblemanAnd it's like 45% THC, this hash. And it's been aged at room temperature, so it's really soft and pliable. I'll break a little square off. And toss it in the cube grinder. And holy shit, man, I'll mix that in and smoke it with a joint. And I have a full appreciation for traditional hash when you roll it into a joint. It burns different than melt, burns different than rosin.
BubblemanIt offers a deeper... I have a real appreciation for traditional hash. And probably that's because I have a history with it when I was younger. I don't know, but...
BubblemanSmoking joints have totally brought me back to the table to smoking traditional hash and just being able to shoot, shoot, shoot up in the grinder and have it just be dusted perfect where it's not like falling out hash bombers, you know, when you hash bombers, let's be honest. That was the result of poor homogenization of hash to flour ratio. People breaking off too big of pieces. You guys maybe weren't there in the 80s.
BubblemanSome of you were. But I'm telling you, the hash bomber was the ultimate bullshit. Big chunks of flaming hash falling out of the tip of your joint and burning your fucking pants. Not not good.
SpeakerFirst time I got hashed was from one of the first guys that normalized weed in my family because my dad was always like, nah, like stop smoking, Junior. Junior, you need to quit smoking. And then he got back into low riding and there was one of his car club members from Montebello. His name was Ray. And Ray. Yeah, Ray was like, Ray had his identity. He sold Kirby vacuums.
SpeakerHe had a house. He had lowriders like, you know, like he had his identity as a person here in America. And my dad, he's like, he owns a tow truck company. He got into lowriders again. He's been lowriding since 1987, but he got back into it in 2009 and 10 when I was like in
Speaker10th grade, 11th grade. So Ray started was a smoker and he's in the car club. It's normalized, right? He's seen somebody that smokes that fucking has a life, right? And his son smokes. He's having a hard time. You know, I'm over here analyzing it. He's having a hard time. You know, putting up with his son because he likes to smoke every fucking day. That's me. So Ray comes into our life and normalizes it.
SpeakerMy dad kind of eases, eases, you know, up on me, even as a high schooler and lets Ray talk to me, you know. Oh, what's up, Junior? You know, fucking be good to your parents, you know, like, you know, it's cool to smoke and all, but like, be good to your parents. Yeah, I do. I have good grades. Cool. Here's some hash. Like, you know, the orange pharmacy vials.
SpeakerHe had like a 40 dram vial full of that style hash. And he just breaks me off a piece. And at the time, I'm just a kid that every day I smoke weed. And it's usually like an eighth, not an eighth that I smoke, but like an eighth is big to me. Like an eighth for 50, a dime bag gets you a 0.5, a dub gets you a gram.
SpeakerThis is what I smoke. I'm 15, 16 years old. And this guy gives me this whole thing of hash and and and the next you know like that was like my first experience with hash and and it was very like like like you know just like it was different you know and it was the pinnacle at the point and I remember just always looking for it after and And then I didn't know, you know, making BHO in 2012, you know, like hash has been always, I didn't know I was always, I didn't know I was going to end up smoking hash.
SpeakerI was a blunt guy, but here we are today. You know, we're a hash, I'm a hash guy. I love hash.
BubblemanYeah. Well, and listen, generally people who love getting high, Realize quickly that like, you know, it's like when you're hungry and you order a pizza, like you don't eat the box. You just eat the pizza, the part that's going to feed your appetite. Yeah, I see you, Etienne, you box eating motherfucker.
Etienne FontanYou don't eat the box, you wasteful motherfucker. Ruffage.
BubblemanYeah, there's other people have touched that box. People touched your pizza too. Never touched.
SpeakerSometimes I want to get high, so I smoke flour. You know, like I want to feel different.
BubblemanYeah, yeah, for sure. I'll smoke flour, but I'll be honest. The second I smoke a joint, like right after I'm done, I usually like 10 to 20 minutes later, we'll go smash a huge dab.
SpeakerI'd feel you on that one too, yeah. I'll enjoy the high for 15 minutes. I'll wake up, smoke the blunt from the night before that I put out halfway, and then I'll be like, oh shit, you didn't dab. Let's dab, you know? But it'll be like an hour, you know? Like an hour into the day. Totally. Gotta get that dab in.
Etienne Fontan100%. I'm smoking water hash, and then I'll go to dabbing, and then I'll dab for a bit.
BubblemanWe call that bubble hash here, Etienne. What the fuck?
Etienne FontanIt's water. It's a solvent here.
BubblemanIt's solventless, bro. Don't make me block you from the channel.
BubblemanNever, never. I don't think I've even had a disagreement with ATN. You're very agreeable. You're not a very disagreeable person, ATN. I can't imagine having a falling out with you, to be honest. If you have a falling out with ATN, just I'm talking to all the people out there, all one of them. It's probably your fault.
Etienne FontanYeah, I'm a pretty easygoing guy. You know, the only reason I don't hang out with you is unless you're a rapist and a pedophile.
BubblemanOh, shit.
Etienne FontanYeah. I can't stand those kind of people. Everybody else I'm pretty cool with, but, you know, I avoid those. Yeah.
SpeakerI'm right there with you on that one.
Etienne FontanGood to, good to, I think those are good things to avoid, to be honest.
BubblemanYeah, you know. Kind of at the top of the list.
Etienne FontanWe have to set our own boundaries in life, and those are boundaries I've set that I've gotten me through pretty well in life. But yeah, I keep it peaceful and open. I try not to have beefs with people. Anything I like to have debates and learn. That's why I love and why I've come back here religiously is because I'm always learning. There's not many places...
Etienne FontanThe well-educated in cannabis can go to learn. You know what I'm saying? You have to, you're constantly, you know, being around others or, I mean, I belong to various scientific, you know, groups. So I get, you know, the latest in, you know, cannabis science because there's just so much happening and, It's very rare, I mean, last weekend to sit there and learn that, you know, EEGs are now being used to figure out highs, et cetera.
Etienne FontanAlways, I mean, we all thought about that, but then to see the science behind it and to see some of the anecdotals be reinforced by science is, you know, there's not many places I can go to find that, much less learn about it, much less then start to debate or think about the you know the ethical quandaries that come with something like that right which opens up a whole different series of thoughts and ideas and concepts that you know makes you wonder but at the same time you know you have to look at the potential beauties but the potential horrors at the same time and as we figure out and navigate these ethical waters right because it's one thing to have and understand these but i've also seen science abused in the va system i'm a veteran right so i go through the va system so i can absorb and i'm always looking at what's happening in science at the same time using that to reshape policy in real time so the advances in something like the the The science or, I mean, just like the Exelby, right?
Etienne FontanThat new medicine that just came out, the cannabinoid derived, you know, lower back pain medicine led us to realize that, you know, there's an essentials medicine list that the World Health Organization puts out. And currently there's no cannabis on it. So, you know, having those types of things that are available now and worldwide, including Epidiolex and others, you know, points us to another navigating water to effect change by getting cannabis on the essentials medicine list.
BubblemanMore access, better, better.
Etienne FontanWell, that makes all the countries that are part of it, you know, 196 countries that they have to then stock and have on hand. And you know what that does for, you know, the acceptability as well as the, you know, reliance on, oh, there's not an opioid, it's a cannabis derived, you know, what is that? That's badass.
BubblemanThat's my dab towel. I think Edgar should have dab towels like this. In fact, I think he should have a Wilson one.
SpeakerI go to Costco and just buy these.
BubblemanI know, but I don't mean for you to use. I mean for you to like, this is like merch that people would be like.
SpeakerOh, 100%. Look at fucking Miner Mouth.
BubblemanLook how sick this shit is, dude.
SpeakerYeah, shout out them. They're fucking fire. I love fucking Miner's Mouth.
BubblemanDude, for sure, man. Stu's such a good dude. But this is one of my favorite dab towels, dude. I'm just like, this thing is like just nice. Terry cloth. Like it's got a big carabiner on there. There we go.
Etienne FontanLike it. Like a golf towel.
BubblemanYeah, it really is like a golf towel. I'm going to be golfing on July 28th in Michigan. I mentioned that earlier. I'm going to the Mock Technologies two-day event. Going to do a little, yeah, I'm going to try, well, mostly I'll be driving a golf cart, ripping dabs out of a Puffco. That'll be like, you know, 75% of what's getting done. But every once in a while, I'll swing a club and hit a little round ball on a little wooden tee and probably say something like, fuck, oh, fuck.
BubblemanNo, I'm not going to take it too seriously. My dad did tell me the word fuck was invented from the game golf though. I remember him telling me that when I was a kid. He was like, yeah, these golfers, they invented the word fuck. It does, like, I don't know if you've ever golfed and hit a ball and like had it just go right like to the, like cut hard and into the forest.
BubblemanBut it's like the best word to say right after a bad golf swing is the F-bomb. Comes out so naturally, really.
SpeakerI'm not the best. I'm, I'm, I have bad form. Even with bowling, I have bad form. I have a bad back. So you have to like do all that when you bowl. Like my, my body's not doing that shit, you know? No. And I, I hit like a, like happy Gilmore.
BubblemanOh yeah.
SpeakerRun up to it and just give it a slap shot.
BubblemanYeah. I'm, I'm bad. I'm bad at golf. Dude. Happy Gilmore, man. I'll tell you. I enjoyed the second one. I loved the first one. I'm a fan of the happy Gilmores. Yeah. The second one, that's the one that came out like last year, right? Yeah, it was just fun. Like he was just having fun with it. You know, you could kind of tell like to me, the way I took it was, dude, I'm super successful.
BubblemanI can make this movie. I can invite like a million of my friends to come in and do cameos and just like, you know, bring his whole family in. I think all his like his daughters and his wife are in that movie. All these friends. Seems like it's just like, how fun would that be if you created a movie like Happy Gilmore? And then like 30 years later, you're like in a position to be like for a the world to want it.
BubblemanLike, I don't know, Netflix probably paid $40 million for it or some ridiculous shit. I can only imagine. Yeah, I wasn't mad at it, but I can totally see that. I could totally see that. Yeah, I wasn't mad at it. I saw people that were mad at it and I was like, dude, relax. Like, it's all good. It's just another movie. A hundred percent. Yeah. For the nostalgic, right?
BubblemanThe first one, a lot of the scenes were filmed right up the road from my house, like where he fights Bob Barker and they're rolling down. That's like 20 minutes from my house. That scene was filmed. That's dope. Yeah, no, it's awesome. Every time I drive to Whistler with a new person, I'd be like, see that green right there on the water? That is where Happy Gilmore and Bob Barker had their tussle.
BubblemanI was like, that's actually pretty fucking hilarious. In the meantime, you're like living around where every movie happened.
SpeakerYeah, something like that. A lot. Holy shit. But, but, but it's, it's so, it's so, it's so like, it's so, it's, it's everywhere that you don't even get to notice, you know?
BubblemanWell, that's what I mean. Here, it's not everywhere. Yeah. At all. Yeah. 11 more minutes. Maybe one more big fat dab for me. Gonna call it a day at... 12 today and go and enjoy this day. No, I'm not. I'm doing tree work. I'm literally going to be cutting up trees into little small pieces and trying to get it off and away from my property. I have so many trees that I need to like deal with right now.
BubblemanIt's our trees are like 100 to 150 feet tall. So when you like cut like one down, it's like. It's an unbelievable amount of processing just to process the tree and get it away. It's like a thousand pounds.
Etienne FontanAre you saving any for later?
BubblemanI have a lot of firewood saved up, probably enough for the entire winter next year. And so I could build another little spot that I could stack wood on. But if I do that, I'm going to leave these. These are like probably about this big. And I've got them in like four foot cuts right now. And I'll probably leave them like that and cut them as I need them.
BubblemanStore them like that because holy shit, dude. But we cut six behind my house just the other day. And so there's like... 600 plus feet of like rounds. Yeah. Not to mention all the giant cedar branches that are like 20 plus feet each and each way.
Etienne FontanLike you have a stump splitter or something like that, too.
BubblemanI have electric everything. Chainsaw, pole saw, fucking handsaw. I went hard on the commercial electric steel tools. And they all take the exact same battery. What I learned from living in my property, which is just over an acre, And it's in forest in the Pacific Northwest is that I cannot buy residential tools. I need to buy commercial tools. This home like disintegrates residential tools. Like if I buy a residential tool, like a leaf blower or whatever, and use it here, it'll just be like, After like three months, it'll just be dead.
BubblemanI'll be like, what the fuck, dude? That thing was like a couple hundred bucks or whatever. So then I got to buy the like $800 one. And then it's like, yeah, this thing is like 190 mile an hour leaf blower. Fucking blow the bark off trees if you need to. Like it's, it's, yeah, it's insane. We have a big property. My wife and I care for it exclusively.
BubblemanWhile my son, Tosh, I got to shout him out as well because he does. He processed the whole fucking tree last night and this morning at 5 a.m. And so thank you, Tosh, if you're watching. Yeah, he's a beast. He's six foot five, big, huge muscle guy. Just like he won't, he doesn't want to use the chainsaw. He uses this hinged, special hinged bolt cutter to like cut tree branches and he can get around branches that are about that big.
BubblemanAnd he's just like, he's just like, he's got them all on the ground. And I'm like, dude, you could do that way faster with a chainsaw. He's like, no, you can't. I'm like, dude, I promise you, I can do that faster with a chainsaw. He's like, yeah, maybe you can, but he's like, check this out. And he just starts cutting. And I'm like, Jesus fucking Christ, dude, calm down, buddy.
BubblemanHe's like, see, see, I'm like, just to fucking, he loves to prove me wrong. Like in the biggest, like when he proves me wrong, he's stoked. so i was like all right yeah you proved me wrong and you definitely can do that like fast but we all have that one friend dude he processed like a hundred bags of green waste by just doing this and clipping these big branches into small like foot-long sections and then Thank you for joining us.
BubblemanI won't say the company because I don't remember it or know it, but a lot of the plants had became males, were specifically male. And two of these really big deck plants that he gave me, not really big, but like four footers, they were going to be my bigger plants. They just popped male flowers the other day. So I cut both of those and I dropped them into a green waste bag.
BubblemanAnd then I put the green waste bag at my front boulevard with these weed plants just sticking out and seemingly still alive because I had just cut them that morning. So I should have made a video of the face of the green waste guy that came in the morning because I'm sure when he saw that bag, he was like, what the fuck? This guy's just throwing away weed.
BubblemanI want to normalize weed to that level. Yeah, me too. Just where you could throw it away at the end of your driveway to the Greenways people, just bags of it. Yeah, let's normalize growing weed right next to the rosebush in the front yard. Dude, I have my weed growing right next to the rosebush in the front yard, funny enough. That's how we do it. That's exactly how we do it.
BubblemanNow, of course, as any rose gardener would, and I don't know if I actually... Oh yeah, here I got some. You got to share your pictures of your roses. These are really my wife's roses. She takes care of them more than I do, but they're lovely. I've got an ocean view. She gets a real nice deep texture out of them. They have a really nice fragrant, You know, floral to them.
BubblemanThis is like a prized. Can't remember what it is. Austin Ross or some. It's got some fancy name. This particular fancy deep colors, beautiful fucking roses. And then she's also got this this pink one that's down in our. Down in the front of our driveway that's absolutely spectacular as well. This guy, I don't know what it is, but it is a winner. They're the size of like dinner plates too, these roses.
BubblemanOh, wow. In my jardin. Fire. Yeah, dude. We've got the garden in front of the house, right? We've got the whole, it doesn't, like sometimes in a picture right now, it doesn't look like much, but all the plants are different kinds of plants that we've got in there. From Japanese maples to rhododendrons to, you know, all sorts of cool shit. Hibiscus plants.
SpeakerYeah, I got a nice hibiscus tree.
BubblemanHell yeah. I got a pomegranate tree. Yeah, I got a pear. And a willow tree. I just put a tiger eye. Oh, what the fuck is it? I always forget the name of this tree. Oh, what is the tiger eyes tree? I'll have to look it up because I have not. Not hibiscus.
SpeakerI had that yellow hibiscus. I have a yellow hibiscus right now. Yeah, I have the regular one. Jamaica. I bought it for my tortoise because they ate the flowers supposedly, but he never cared. I put the flowers in front of him. He's just like, where's the tomatoes and apples you give me, bro? I'm just like, I'll try again though.
BubblemanRight?
SpeakerYeah.
BubblemanI need to find the name of this one.
SpeakerYeah, I got to crawl my ass to the garden, you know, make sure everything's water, make sure the chickens are fed. And then I'm trying to spend as much time with the family right now. They're on summer break. So, oh, that's nice. Balancing, you know, yeah, I could be in the garden all day, you know. Dude, easily.
BubblemanI could be just processing the trees that my buddy fell here for the next like five days. I have like 10 hour, five day. I have 50 hours of tree processing. But what I will do is I'll just go do an hour here, an hour there. And it's summer, so it's a good time. If it was fall, the trees would just be getting rained on like crazy.
BubblemanAnd we did some cutting the other day back there in the rain. It's not fun. The rain is penetrating here. It got us so fucking soaked, even in our rain gear, that it was like, I'm done doing this right now.
BubblemanCutting the trees, the plants are so happy that I've opened up my whole area to allow sun. You guys have no rain. We're in the Pacific Northwest. We have rain. Water world. Yeah. Yeah. We got the ocean. We got the snow capped mountains that will melt till the end of August. And then we'll get some rain as well. So that way it rains for a week here.
BubblemanAnd I'm just like, ah,
SpeakerStop it. And it's not even heavy rain. Like I'm like, it's so depressing. The one week that it rains here because I have dogs and shit and I'm just like putting up all these makeshift barriers. Now I got them all dog houses. I don't have to do that shit.
BubblemanListen, the only good thing about rain is when you're high enough up on the mountain and it turns to snow and you know and you enjoy playing on snow, whether with skis or snowmobiles or snowboards or whatever it is, all of the above. For me, I just fucking love So that's how I don't get depressed all winter long when it's raining. When I see it raining and it's like, I'm like, holy fuck, it's downpouring.
BubblemanI just kind of smile because I'm like, fuck, it's going to be like a 40 centimeter day on top of the mountain tomorrow.
SpeakerLike, holy shit.
BubblemanIt's like a gift from God. It's more of a gift from God than anything I can imagine a gift from God being because it literally comes naturally. From the sky, the place where most people think God lives. I'm dead. You're out of control, bro. Yeah, dude. It's a gift from God. You can go a long time without food, but see how long you can go without water.
SpeakerNo doubt.
BubblemanYeah, like it's surprising. It's very short. You die very quickly without water. But you can live for months without food. And then, of course, you can only live for a couple minutes without air. Air is the big one. It even trumps water. Sorry for using that term, Etienne. I know you said you didn't like those guys.
SpeakerThanks for the invite, Mark.
BubblemanYeah, thanks for coming out, dude, and sharing those stories and sharing those genetics and just being an all-around fucking good dude, man. I appreciate you. Nice hanging with you, Caleb, Etienne.
Etienne FontanAbsolutely, dog. Absolutely nice to finally hang with you. I've been a fan for a while, so I appreciate what you're doing as well as your point of view. So keep on doing what you're doing. You're appreciated. Hell yeah. I want to thank...
BubblemanThank Puff Co and the Press Club for sponsoring today and thank Bingo Lombardi for holding it down in the chat. Thank the Dragonfly Earth Medicine, Kelly and Josh for coming in and sharing their adventures. And yeah, thanks to Edgar and Caleb and Etienne. We will see you next week. Hopefully, I've got a plan to bring my, well, I'm my friend. I met him once in my life, really.
BubblemanLee Jaffe. And Lee was connected to the Wailers. He was the one that took the infamous photo of Peter Tosh in the field that went on the cover of Legalize It. I think he also produced the album Legalize It. Super deep in the culture of the Wailers, of Peter Tosh, photography. Super cool dude. We're hoping on having him next Sunday or the Sunday after to come on and share some stories.
BubblemanIn the meantime, if you've got any ideas for us, hit us up, bcbubbleman at icloud.com. We will see you next time. May the full melt. Seriously, bless your bowl sooner than later. Peace out, everybody.
Josh Dragonfly Earth MedicinePeace out, everybody.
