BubblemanHey everybody, welcome to Hash Church, Hash Church episode 63. And what is to be said about 63 Hash Churches in a row? I'm amazed at how easy it is to do each week. There are sacrifices, of course.

SpeakerThis week I'm sacrificing a... Oh, let's turn that down. What is to be said about 63 Hash Churches?

BubblemanMissing some beautiful powder on Whistler Mountain right now, but that is okay because powder will fall again and I am very happy to link with all of you guys on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. Let me just get my thing sent off, my invitations via email and my invitations via... Oh, there we go. Welcome, Etienne. How are you doing this morning, my friend?

EtienneGood morning, sir. How are you?

BubblemanWell, no complaints, brother, no complaints. You know, it's a busy day today. My son's got a piano recital that I'm going to unfortunately miss, but my wife's going to film it for me so we can hammer out an important episode, episode 63 of Hash Church.

EtienneRight on. Can I give a quick couple of shout outs? Of course. I am going to be speaking in Honolulu, Hawaii this week for the National Cannabis Industries Association at the Plaza Club there in Honolulu on December 9th from 530 to 10. So there's a few tickets left if people are interested and want to hear a bunch of cannabis experts speak and meet and greet. On top of that, we're at the Secret Cup, Todd and I, right now.

EtienneAnd definitely give a shout out to everyone and their competitors because they lined it up for sure.

BubblemanNice.

EtienneLast but not least, got to give some love out to Smash Extracts. They gave me some love last night that I'm starting the morning off with. So I definitely wanted to say that. And I also want to give a shout out to Bubble Man for opening up his page during the week. And we had a nice little impromptu get together on the interwebs with a whole bunch of people, which is a lot of fun.

EtienneSo I wanted to thank you as well, sir.

BubblemanYeah, dude, it's nice to invite some new folks in there, a little different from the panel. And I should probably, before I forget, it's a form of a shout out again. We lost a good one here in Vancouver recently, David Eastbrook, who goes by the name Guppy. I never knew him as Dave myself. I always knew him as Guppy. And he succumbed to his cancer here recently in the last 48 hours.

BubblemanSo I wanted to shout out Guppy on Hash Church. And we won't forget what you did, brother. Your work will live on. And of course, your photography will live on. Really sorry to hear that news this morning when I woke up, but we will burn one for you, brother, and we will blow smoke towards the Vatican as our good friend Mr. Robert Connell Clark likes to do on Sundays, and I hope you guys like to do it as well because we can, and that's the blessing.

BubblemanSo let's light up these ships. Better turn mine on. It's going to be a couple of momentes. And I'm going to give a shout out to the West Coast Concentrate crew once again for, you know, just bringing the fire.

SpeakerFire.

BubblemanYou can be seen. That is fire. Yeah, great look on that. I've been enjoying it quite a bit. It's... It's definitely nice to have these guys making beautiful full melts in Vancouver. There's not enough people doing it.

EtienneThis is number 19, which I swear, which we all swear is a water extraction, and it was phenomenal. The taste on the get-go is wonderful, and you don't even taste that it's water until the back end, and late on the back end, you're like, oh yeah, that's for sure bubble hash, but it's wonderful. There he is. We missed him last week. Come on, say it.

SpeakerYou know what, buddy? Bong rip. Last week when I was driving up to Prince George, and I'm watching you guys, I got it plugged into my phone and driving up here, and there was a silence for about, I don't know, 10 seconds, and I literally went, bong rip. And as I said that, you said it, buddy. You said it. I mean, fucking same time I said it.

SpeakerIt was so funny.

EtienneYou guys keep the traditional live, god damn it.

SpeakerYeah, it was fucking awesome, man. It was like perfect timing. I couldn't believe it.

BubblemanWell, I'm thankful that you guys, you know, when you get, when I often send the link out and then I think right away, something must be wrong because I just sent the link to 25 people and two people have come into the room and then I think, it's Sunday morning. People are literally laying in their beds, like looking at the clock, like really, Bubble Man, like seriously, dude.

BubblemanAre you kidding me?

SpeakerYeah, but you know what? It's pretty easy to get up for it, too. Really.

BubblemanI mean, I think so. Personally, I think so. And I appreciate that you guys have done that. I really do appreciate when a few people come in early in the morning and start the dialogue going. Mucho apreciato. Man, I'll tell you, I took some unbelievable photos of this water hash from the West Coast Concentrate crew. Yesterday, just the most beautiful orange and epic color sequences on these photos.

SpeakerI've been smoking it since I've been home, man. It's killer. I can't get enough of it.

EtienneWhat flavor is it, gentlemen?

BubblemanI've got the Hindu Kush Full Spectrum that I'm really, really liking right now. A little bit of the green crack. I've got some Master Scout Flower Rosin that they whipped up for me. A little purple candy, a little purple candy full spectrum, and then like an endless amount of other flavors that they've passed on to me that are literally sitting in my, like literally like 10 or 12 other things.

BubblemanHow come they're not on Hash Church? I don't know. I've invited them to come to Hash Church. I sort of said, hey, come by the house and we'll do a little... We'll do a little Hash Church. They may do that this morning. We might see them show up at my house.

SpeakerOne of the topics I'd like to focus on during the Hash Churches is a point on where we can talk about how we can make it more socially accepted, how we can make it so that the potheads aren't looked at as fucking potheads. And that sort of thing. You know what I mean? Like how we can do it and maybe teach people some different weed etiquette on like, you know when smokers are smoking their cigarettes 10 meters outside of doors of malls or buildings and shit, it's still fucking ignorant.

SpeakerIt's still stinky and all that kind of stuff. Is there ways that we can get ideas from everybody else, whole shit loads of ideas on how to properly medicate in public so that we're not disturbing people that don't smoke and don't like the smell of it or the smell of cigarettes type shit. Like it's, You know what I'm saying?

BubblemanI think Hash Church is that very thing. I think one of the things we do on Hash Church is we help normalize the regular use of cannabis, and that's literally what Hash Church really, like a huge part of Hash Church is about. It's why we have patient stories come on and sort of tell their stories, and it's why we literally converse. I mean, in my opinion, the best way is to, you know, have intellectual conversation while you're enjoying cannabis and not, you know, You know, be like a high school kid where it's just like, ah, fucking, fucking smoking fucking joints and I'm fucking, you know, fuck, let's fucking fucking fuck fuck.

BubblemanAnd that's kind of like the stereotype that people are looking at that's like not what they want to see. So then we gather on Hash Church and we have amazing people like you guys and Todd and people like Lester show up and, you know, people like David Hutchinson and then we elevate our conversation to that level of like, Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

EtienneYou know, even the Dutch were like, hey, hey, you can't do that here, you know. People were outside in the Netherlands smoking joints on the streets, and the cops were like, hey, you know, just want to say, not kosher, you know, go smoke inside, so that's cool. So, I would think we've always had to kind of lead by example, but I've kind of always lived as, because I'm so out, I always live kind of in the closet outside, because, you know, I use sneak-a-tokes, I use Things that are discreet when I'm in my hotel room, you know, I use carbon filters because I don't want to be smelled.

EtienneI don't want somebody to be like, hey, you, et cetera. So even when I'm outside, I'm still very discreet with, you know, what I smoke, how I smoke, just kind of example because I've seen all the bad examples of people just walking down the street and rolling out and smoking and I've smelled more than my share in traffic, et cetera, you know, or just walking down the street.

EtienneSo I think that's a great discussion, you know, because as it's becoming more socially accepted, I think there needs to be more social etiquette understanding because, you know, we always learn from our smoking circles, right? Pass to the left, you know, don't over lip the joint, take two hits, you know, so we have to educate from our smoking circles. That's one of the main things as activists back in the day where I was like, Hey, I learned that I burn brain cells from smoking cannabis from my smoking circle, which I found out was a lie, which started off my curiosity.

EtienneSo for us, we have to, I guess, elevate ourselves as well. You know, I use vaporizers, you know, I use pen vaporizers in public, you know, things like, you know, I use Hello Neighbors when I'm out and about, when I'm smoking, using, you know, I still use a metal cigarette when I'm smoking my, you know, my water hash when I'm on the road and things like that.

EtienneI've always been discreet by using things like blue flame. You know, I learned from, I had two brothers that were police officers and one of the things they were told is that police are always looking for bricks being relit because that red flame in the night bright as day. Well, in the military I learned about light discipline and blue flame you can't be seen at night and so it's just Different things I've learned just to be safe, to be smart because I've traveled all around the world.

EtienneI've been very fortunate not to get myself in any trouble. But that's because I've always taken that extra step to be respectful. Don't leave my hotel room with resin and shit in it and joints and anything. You know, clean out the car. Make sure there's no roaches and things in it. So there's just nothing in case you got pulled over. So even myself, I have this complete prohibition mentality and I'm as legal as fuck, but when I travel and everything, you have to still be discreet.

EtienneYou can't just be over-the-top dumb. You know, I still put, you know, towels under the door. I still bring a shower cap to put over, you know, the fire detector. You know, there's new fire detectors in Colorado. In Arizona, you know, yeah, definitely always carry a shower cap with you, disposable shower cap, because all you have to do is go bloop, bloop. But these new... A few months ago, I almost got in trouble in Arizona because I stayed at a hotel room and I didn't realize my mothership was right below one of those new fire detectors that literally catch any type of small anything.

EtienneAnd they're to catch pot smoke. And it went off. And fortunately, I had Osium. So I always carry Osium in hotel rooms as well. I learned about Osium from the rock and roll world. I have lots of friends in the music industry. So When you'd go onto their tour buses, you'd go back and smoke. They always had cans of ozone. That was in case they got pulled over.

EtienneThey could spray one spray of the ozone. By the time the cops came to the back, the place didn't smell like pot. So keeping things like that in your hotel room. Fortunately, when I actually set off that alarm, I sprayed it in the room. So when the maintenance security guy showed up, I was like, oh, sorry, I just left a nasty deuce in the back of the restroom, and I Spray directly at it, and I didn't realize the guy's like, mm-hmm, sure, okay, well, just so you know, any particulate matter will send that thing off, so I was like, oh, shit, good to know.

EtienneSo, yeah, in the newer states where it's legal, in hotel rooms, they're putting these brand new fire detectors that will catch everything, so I highly recommend A shower cap traveling with you because a lot of hotel rooms don't put them in their hotel rooms anymore. So I'm still, again, I always err on the air of discretion. You know, vaporizers, exhale things like, you know, like I said, the Hello Neighbor, those things because...

EtienneLike you said, Darren, I don't want to be caught smoking. I don't want to be caught where somebody's like, hey, you. So as we become more legal, that's not going to become much of a problem. Even somebody sued the United States because of scent, saying that cannabis was too stinky. And it was deemed through court that, no, it's not. It is not a secondary hazard like cigarette smoke is.

EtienneBut there's still going to be test cases going forward in these states as it becomes legal. More and more legal. We're going to see more of that happening. But, I mean, even you see it there legal in Canada. I mean, are you seeing people just being a bunch of asshat boys out smoking being dumb? Or are you seeing people being respectful? Or are you seeing a mixture of the two?

SpeakerI see a mixture of the two myself. I see people, they're like... You know, it's, it's, it's, they want, they're, they're legal. They, they want to show everybody the rights that they have and exercise these rights because they have them. And it's just kind of a little bit, you know, I've, I've smoked in public and everything like that. Me and Mark have done it quite a bit.

SpeakerAnd we do get reactions from people, but no, not, not really negative ones. We, people are very curious and they ask some questions and once, Mark goes on with what he says. He's got a way of talking to people that I've never seen and that I don't have. I get into a certain spot and I kind of start stuttering a bit maybe and I don't like it.

SpeakerI get irritated. And then I don't get the proper message across. But Mark has put the message across to many people. Like, hey, we're allowed to do this. This is Medicaid. There's the thing of doing the fuck this, fuck that, fuck you, fuck, fuck, like Mark was saying. But there's also the guys that look at us like this, where we're just... Hey man, let's press replay on that video game and let's have another talk.

SpeakerAnd that sort of stereotyping as well. That part of the stereotyping is the part that I'd like to see go away more. I know that we educate people on this, the hash church and all this. This is great. I guess the main thing I want to see is the change on you fucking potheads. The people's mindsets that are outside of the hash church, that see us, that just can look at us and say, oh, those guys are fucking, you know, if you've got a snowboard and a fucking rainbow-colored thing on like reggae or something, you're obviously a fucking pothead.

EtienneYou know what I mean? Out of the closet, you're going to see that, because we see that already, you know, but, you know, even our discussion here, we're less than 1% of the 1%, you know, there's still the rest of the population still has to see What intelligent cannabis speaking is. And unfortunately, you've got the Cheech and Chong's, the Half Baked, and all those that have perpetuated stereotypes of ignorance and stupidity.

EtienneSo it isn't until, like I say, more and more intelligent people, which you'd think with, you know, having Carl Sagan come out and, you know, having other intelligent people like that, it still hasn't hit the mainstream. Not even close. You know, yeah, it's not even close, you know, it's not even a blip on the radar of the map, so.

BubblemanI mean, every night if Jimmy Fallon brings up pot, it's in some derogatory way that's like sort of laughing at one of the stereotypes of it. It's like, really? Like, we're still there? Where it's like, I know it was like hundreds of millions, if not billions of dollars of propaganda, but it is incredible to see the embers still burning on propaganda so strongly. Yep.

EtienneIt's so pervasive throughout the culture and subculture and other cultures. It's in mainstream society that we're done stupid. Remember, it goes all the way back to, you know, the yellow journalism days. First, we're going to murder, kill, mayhem, destroy. Then we're going to be lazy. Males are going to get brass. We don't do anything. So what is it? We're lazy. We're failures. We're excited, you know. We're stupid.

EtienneYou know. How is it? How do you change? You know, we need a mainstream movie with just regular people smoking pot. I've always had a thing against, and I even talked to Tommy Chong one time. I was saying, you know, hey, you know, I'm afraid your humor set us back. And he's like, hey, kid, I can hear what you're saying, but this is the darkest days of prohibition, and the best way we can combat it was with humor.

EtienneAnd they wrote and produced and did those things the right way, so I understood it when I heard it from Tommy, but I After going around the country and being an activist and hearing so many people say, oh, leave people to this bug, what are these, you know, projected stereotypes that we have? But Hollywood continues them and pervades them, but fortunately, you know, Todd came out with the Culture High and the Union and things like that that actually put an intelligent face on cannabis to realize, hey, this is an actual huge undercurrent and a reality of society that isn't just some bunch of stupid people.

EtienneThese are smart people out there actually doing business, making reality, taking care of people, and making the world go round. So that's kind of how I've always viewed, you know, cannabis people as highly intelligent, motivated, self-motivated people, because that's all I've been around. Yet society still has this perpetuation, you know, look at all of us here. We're all successful in our own rights. None of us here are lazy stoners sitting on our ass doing nothing.

EtienneWe're doing something every day and taking our own time out on Sundays to spread the word because we know how much ignorance and misinformation is still going out there that we have to do whatever we can in every little way that we can. Much love to all you guys.

BubblemanI'd like to welcome Todd and Horatio to the room.

BubblemanMorning.

SpeakerLong rep. Pretty much right there, Bongo. It's early. It's early, dude. You guys are fucking talking shit about fucking propaganda at 9.09 a.m. Jesus Christ, guys. You know it. You know it. You know, it's funny, a lot of people have talked mad trash about Cheech and Chong, you know, and I've got a lot of respect for Chong because Tommy isn't some actor who fucking fell into some, you know, job where he applied and somebody said, hey, you're going to make the perfect stupid stoner.

SpeakerI mean, he took a stereotype, wrote a character around it, wrote movies around it, wrote, you know, comedy skits around it, and, you know, wrote his own

SpeakerA ticket through Hollywood, if not most all actors, I mean, good-willing, excluded, I guess, don't get the vehicle that creates their fame. And for Tommy to be able to sit down and write, produce, direct that, granted, glossed on a stereotype... I mean, it really proves that the stereotype's bullshit when, you know, the guy that's acting like the clown is actually the guy, you know, he's the one behind the curtain, he's the one that made the movie, he's the one that got the financing, he's the one that wrote the fucking lines, he's the one that made it all happen, and, you know, a lot of people didn't see that, and I always thought that they were short-sighted because he's an introvert, you know, who is acting like an idiot.

BubblemanWell, Jim, Jeremy Hendricks.

BubblemanYeah, well said, Todd, for sure. We definitely have love for Tommy. He definitely pushed through his own stereotypical comedy. And hey, you know what? He got the word out back in the day, way before I heard of Jack Herrera and The Emperor Wears No Clothes. I fucking heard of Cheech and Chong. And those were sort of like, you know, we didn't look at them like they were stereotypical and it was all like, we weren't all like, fuck you, this is bullshit.

BubblemanWe were like, this is great. This is some funny shit. Like rolling on the ground laughing back in the day. I couldn't get enough of it personally.

EtienneOh, my best, the kid across the street, he had the album, you know. I have it still. And we had to sneak over and go into the, Go into the, you know, a side area of the house. It's quiet. Don't laugh. Shh, shh, shh. Don't laugh. You can't leave the adults here. You laugh because you're going to get us in trouble. And listen to that shit and try not to laugh because back then, I mean, Sister Mary Elephant and that shit was fucking hysterical when you were a kid.

EtienneI mean, all that stuff was just hilarious. And, I mean, really, that was really my first extent into cannabis and cannabis humor. So, yeah, they always get low. Okay.

BubblemanAnd then there's also the A Child's Garden of Grass, which was, I think, 1971, very early as well. And that was a classic as well. There was some funny shit.

SpeakerThat's my first book, bro. And you want to know what's really amazing? If you turn to page 141 or whatever it is, The Dangerous Effects of Grass, you turn to page 141. It's really beautiful. It just says, a child should always say what's true and speak when he is spoken to and behave manly at a table, at least as far as he is able. And then you turn the page and it says the dangerous effects of grass.

SpeakerThe left page is blank and the right page only has literally words in the middle. And it says the dangerous effects of grass are, and then it says getting busted. And then you turn the page, it's the next chapter.

BubblemanFucking right, dude. The album, I'll never forget it. I got turned on to that album at a very young age. It was in my dad's collection and just some of the, you know, I'll never forget how funny it was when it's like the, how you hear, it was something about the effects of how you hear music on grass and the guy's in the shower and he's just kind of singing and it sounds really bad.

BubblemanAnd someone's like, hey man, you want a hit? They just like open the shower door and you can hear him be like, oh yeah, yeah. And he takes like three or big four hits and then he starts singing. And the way they build it, and all of a sudden backup singers are in there and there's like a little Congo drums and now there's a full band and he's just fucking like, like singing so hard.

BubblemanFuck, did I used to laugh at that part of that album.

SpeakerMy first movie I went to in the movie theater was in Nanaimo. And it was the next movie, Cheech and Chong's next movie. It was the first movie I ever got to. And I could not believe it. I think I was seven or eight years old, maybe nine. I was just like, wow. These guys are packing a garbage can full of gas? What? And then aliens? Fucking, it was so cool, man.

SpeakerI couldn't believe it. That movie, I guarantee you, brought the direct results. I'm a seven to nine year old kid going to in his life. I am the direct result of that. Here I am, man. I know it. Fucking influenced me in a huge way.

BubblemanDamn. Seven or eight, I think I was at like Splash or some shit.

SpeakerI was at a drive-thru with my dad for that next movie. I remember when the aliens came. I was like, what the fuck is this guy watching?

BubblemanWhat the fuck is this guy watching? I couldn't believe him.

SpeakerOh, yeah. Hippie pinner.

BubblemanIt was cool.

SpeakerThat is awesome.

BubblemanWell, we got Mark Scaldone in the chat, but he's not in this chat. I don't know what's going on with him. I see that almost every Sunday. I'll post the link and then I'll just start seeing all these people that aren't in chat chatting in the YouTube chat. I'll be like, I wonder what they're doing.

SpeakerI'm making a coffee. I'll be right back. It's almost time.

BubblemanHey, that's exactly what Todd just said, except he said the LA version. I got to get a chai.

BubblemanSo tell us about the event last night, Horatio. Horatio went to the Cannes Awards?

SpeakerYeah, the Cannes Awards. We had the PNW in Canada one down in Seattle. And, you know, of course nobody got to see me in Washington. I was only in for two hours. No, we brought some things back to Canada.

BrandonHold on.

SpeakerWe've got a Hash Church Award for Most Innovative Service. Come on. I just can't. It's a real sledgehammer, so they're hard to...

BubblemanSo that's for Hash Church?

SpeakerYeah. I mean, Fresh Hatties won it, but Hash Church is the spirit behind it.

BubblemanWell, right on. That's really cool.

BubblemanGood for Hash Church. Congratulations, Hash Church.

SpeakerYeah, we got the most innovative service in Canada, and Bubble Bags won Best Eco-Friendly Sustainable Initiative.

BubblemanMaking hash is sustainable, I'm not going to lie.

SpeakerAnd I got the last one for most, wait a minute, that's the same fucking box.

BubblemanI can't believe you brought three sledgehammers over the border back from Seattle.

SpeakerThe key is just not to think about it. I put it in the trunk and I'm like, oh no, they're going to go in my trunk, fuck that. I put all the heads of the sledgehammers in the jack-in-the-box bag and then just let the sticks kind of disappear and rumple.

BubblemanAnd, you know... Well, you know what? It is also ridiculous to think that there's anything wrong with bringing three sledgehammers over the border. It's just so random that it all of a sudden makes you feel like, oh, I hope I'm not doing anything I'm not allowed to do. I don't want to be... You know, maybe there's a two-chain sledgehammer rule...

SpeakerIt's not the three, it's the thing that it says canna on three sedge hammers. It's like, what are you doing with, I literally, I was like, I picked these up for my buddy. He's like, was your buddy in Washington or was your buddy in Canada? I'm like, it's not a connect. I picked it up for my friend's company. He's like, so your friend can't come to the U.S.?

SpeakerAnd I'm like, I think you figured it out. But, and he's like, should you bring any cannabis back? I'm like, go easy, it was only two hours.

BubblemanThey said that to you?

SpeakerTotally was trying to put the pieces together to see if I was trying to hit a plug. But I didn't mention your name, but I'm like, I don't know why he can't cross the border. He just can't.

BubblemanWell, I can't cross the border because I got caught with cannabis like 13 years ago when I was doing some work with the BC Compassion Club. So it was a very Compassion Club-based case. I'm not saying that at the border. No, no, I'm just telling you now. That's... And I'm soon to have that washed. I mean, imagine being, you know, having a crime that's cannabis and then getting a federal license that says, you know, for you anyway, you're not, like, cannabis is no longer illegal for you.

BubblemanNot to grow it, not to have it, not to make hash out of it, not to carry it around in your vehicle. Literally, cannabis is legal for me anywhere I go in Canada. And there's really no reason for me not to be able to go down there anymore. I think even particularly with the amount of states that are getting on board and the fact that the state that I want to cross into is already on board.

BubblemanIt's not like I'm trying to cross into Utah.

EtienneThere's got to be a way you can file to actually see about, you know, subsiding. I have.

BubblemanI have. I filed the papers. I'm like, I'm getting ready to come down for a visit at 10.

EtienneGood. I want to show you everything. It'd be awesome, buddy.

BubblemanIt'd be so good. I'd definitely probably stop, drive probably right to Cuban's Place in Seattle. That would be like the closest first stop. And then from there, I guess, head down into Oregon, chill out with some friends in Eugene, make my way through Northern California, which could be a slow way, depending on how many people I stop, and then head down to see you and Todd and Tony down in that.

BubblemanPart of town.

EtienneToo awesome. Can't wait.

SpeakerI'm coming with you. Well, you have to welcome me into the trunk first and cross the line because, you know me, I can't go. I will never be allowed to go in the States. Ever.

EtienneYou know, it's funny. Everybody says Tony and I look alike, but last night at the Secret Cup, everybody was like, are you going to be 420? I'm like, no, no, no. More beard. More beard.

SpeakerWhat are you doing, man? What are you doing? I think it's always amazing when people talk to me about this stuff and bring up the D420K. Everywhere me and Mark go, then I go with him. It's constant, and it just really blows my mind. When we went to the airport to meet my brother and sister for the first time ever, we had a guy come up and just started talking with us about Well, about the Hash Church and the Bubble Man videos and all that stuff.

SpeakerAnd he's just like, man, you guys are awesome. I love what you guys do. And we get that all the time. And it's awesome. I love it. I think it's great. Well, I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't want, if that kind of attention didn't, if it bothered me. You know what I mean?

EtienneYeah, we got a lot of love at the Secret Cup for people who are our Hash Church watchers. So much love. Thank you guys. Everything. Apparently we're saying something that people want to watch. So thank you guys for And ladies for watching and listening. Congratulations as well, Horatio. I had to step away for a second. The hotel's overspilling with secret cut people and everybody apparently is awake now and spilling out of their hotel rooms.

EtienneSo I had to go deal with something out there for a second. But congratulations on your sledgehammer, sir.

SpeakerThank you. At least you didn't say the hotel's crawling with secret police. I've got to swallow all my oil and this has been into my transmission.

EtienneYou know, that happened to me once. We got off on hip tour. We actually literally got guns pulled on us. We had, we stopped in Lake Elsinore. This wonderful woman at this local college invited me, Elvie, and our friends over to her house. Her father was away, and we're like, okay, we'll come over. And she said, we're going to cook you guys dinner. Thank you guys for being activists.

EtienneWe're like, thank you very much. We go over there. This is back when Richard had this huge hemp vehicle with all these stickers and stuff. Dad literally comes home. All I hear is the door open, of a shotgun, and, whose truck's that outside? And we had to proceed to literally leave, and as we got out of there, everyone's safe, fortunately. We went, we had to go calm down, so we go to the nearest hotel to get And just to fucking chill down because we didn't want to smoke out in the van.

EtienneWe're like, okay, let's go get a hotel room. So we literally go a couple exits off, get off and get to the first hotel. And the girl that we're with, Kelly, gets out and goes in to register. And we decide, okay, let's go take a quick spin around this hotel. And as we come out and go around, all we see lined up are cop cars of every different size, color, shape.

EtienneFrom every state, and every one of them says canine, and every, all these cops are out walking around with canine units walking around, and literally we look at each other like, oh my god, are you fucking kidding me? We literally go from having a shotgun pulled on us to going right to where there's nothing but canine cops. Go right back to the entrance, we have to, I literally went back to the entrance, went in, grabbed Kelly as she's just finishing registration, We have to go.

EtienneAnd grabbed her and got straight to the van and went another couple of exits shaking until we finally found a hotel room we could actually go and chill in, make sure there was no cops staying at the hotel, much less it turned out to be a canine convention going on at the hotel that we would have to be stopping by. So don't do that, people. Seriously.

BubblemanHey, welcome, Mark. I don't know how I didn't send you that link. I swear when I send the link out through Facebook to like 10 or 15 or 20 people at a time that only certain people get it, and I just can't understand it. It makes no sense, because I sent that to like a huge group of people today.

MarkOh, no worries.

BubblemanWell, I just like everyone to come in early and all, you know, it would be nice to see like 10 people just be like full.

MarkI always just try to beat ATN in.

BubblemanYeah, if you can beat ATN in, let me tell you, that's, uh, you're... You're such a dad.

SpeakerThere are, like, ten people at night in the room.

BubblemanOh, my God. Hey, 615 people are watching.

SpeakerIt's like rock star hours until you wake up. Donors. What happened to my stoner? Rather than up there sleeping, what happened to that? You're a responsible dad, you.

BubblemanThat's the problem. That is the problem right there. I am an irresponsible dad.

SpeakerI am an irresponsible dad because I do not have to be responsible. They're on their own. But I'm still there for them all the time. And my grandkids? Wow. What a group, man. What a group.

BubblemanYeah, you are lagging a bit, Todd. I don't know what's going on with your internet connection there, but you're coming in a bit slow.

SpeakerI'm not at home anymore.

EtienneYeah, you're a little choppy, Todd. We're in the same hotel. That's random, eh?

SpeakerBone rip?

EtienneThat's what I'm doing. I have the rotor. Bone rip, Chong rip, as somebody was saying earlier, since we're talking about Tommy Chong. Chong rip.

SpeakerChong rip. Chong rip.

EtienneChong rip.

BubblemanWith turps?

SpeakerMmm.

BubblemanWe'll have some turps.

SpeakerI will do a little terp dip myself.

EtienneWhat you smoking on, Dean?

SpeakerSome, oh, what is it? I got rosin from the Ortega, and I'm smoking some, and I'm doing a little terp dip in it that I got from my buddy. I gave you guys the Ortega?

BubblemanYes. Oh, I'm so glad. That's so wonderful, dude.

EtienneI like that one. I grew that one back in the day. That can be a different plant, the Ortega. It can either come out really good or just hate life.

BubblemanIt's a full melter, though. If you produce the good resin with the Ortega, it's strong.

EtienneWhen you do it right, it's really good, but when you do it wrong, man, it's like, what the fuck, man?

BubblemanWhat the fuck are you doing it wrong for, bro?

EtienneNature hates me sometimes, you know. It's like, I tell people farming's not about, you know, there's no songs about farming. There's no top 40 songs about farming. You know, it's only laments.

BubblemanWhat a rip. Woo, I'll tell ya. That was extremely tasty. Lemon pie. Wow. What the fuck did I do with it?

SpeakerMan, when we were doing the terp, then we had a little terp session in my apartment with the West Coast Boys.

EtienneYeah.

SpeakerEverybody, I'm sure I look the same way, but that looked like typically the little, the stoners, man. We had the eyes. Those terps really mess you up. Like it's a modulator and it makes it better.

EtienneAs we say, it puts your eyes at half mast.

SpeakerYes. I look like one in all of us. And everybody was just, wow. I was just like, yeah, this is perfect. And it was such a good buzz, too. Wow.

BubblemanYeah, I went to see Ro the other day, and I was like, I'm bringing the Terps. And I went down there, and he had all this beautiful flower rosin, and I couldn't find the Terps. I basically forgot them at home. And literally, I was sitting there like, I just want to go home. Like, I can't even believe that I forgot the fucking Terps.

EtienneHow did you forget the terps?

BubblemanDude, because this was the problem. This was the problem. I put them in here, right? And then I have like 10 other ones all around my house of these. Some are empty. Some are full of like dry sift.

MarkBarb.

BubblemanBarb sift. Barb sift.

BubblemanSo that's the problem. Right before I left, I saw an empty one on my desk and basically was like, I went to grab it and I opened it and it was empty and I was like, oh shit, I already have them. So I put it down, but I didn't already have them.

SpeakerThey were literally around the corner. Welcome back, Todd.

SpeakerHopefully I'm not as choppy. Not even close. That's betterer.

EtienneBetterer? Betterer.

SpeakerWell, we're down at the Secret Cup finals right now. I wish you all were able to come see what they're doing.

BubblemanWe get to see through you guys.

BubblemanI'm sure you'll photograph it all.

BubblemanYou going to photograph it all?

SpeakerI am, actually. They had 20 or 22 contestants.

SpeakerRegionally the best of the best after all the competitions. And I would say we tried all 20. We're all fucking fairly great.

SpeakerIt's amazing to see what people are doing with terpenes and the delicate flavors and tastes of the product these days. It's really beautiful, I think. Dude, I'm telling you. Very floral.

BubblemanWhen I lick my lips after my terp tabs... At just another level, I had the flavor in my mouth and in my throat for, you know, sometimes a half an hour from a dab. It's definitely interesting in the sense that it's completely uplifting.

SpeakerYeah, the Terps are, you know, it makes me, I've always had an affinity for fresh cannabis, and I think it's just the Terps. Because when you get them, when you cut them and you have them, and you dry them, there's a richness and there's such an up-full body terpene profile that I kind of only get from being close to being the grower.

BubblemanSomeone's asking, use a moonshine still to make terps. Making those potato terps.

BubblemanGo ahead, Mark. Absolutely.

MarkYou want me to say something? I could. I mean, you're probably going to be wasting a lot of stuff if you're just using a big old still like that, right? I think a lot of these terpenes you can get by just using vacuum traps or traps on your vacuum lines when you're putting your hash into your Vacuum ovens and you want to basically trap that before that goes into your vacuum pump and you might be able to get some of your most volatile essences that you're removing along with any residual solvent.

BubblemanAnd yeah for people that want to try and collect those turps there are pumps out there that don't take oil. There are oil-less pumps that you can get.

MarkWell, regardless if your pump takes oil or not, all you need to do is put a trap in there. If there's a cold trap in there that's between your vacuum pump and the oven, it's going to be the cold surface that's going to condense any volatile liquids that are coming through. So, I mean, that's what you need. Whether you have an oil-less pump or not, you shouldn't be sending any effluent from your ovens directly into your Pumps and amazingly that's what I find happening quite a bit throughout the year.

BubblemanOh my God, yeah. If you open those up and you smell that oil.

MarkYeah, and so this is what I don't understand. I mean I'm hearing, getting pushback from people saying that this is what the Denver Fire Department regulates in Colorado and basically what they're regulating is an unsafe process where they're, you know, you have your, say my coffee cup is the oven, right, and the vacuum line comes out of this. What you're doing is you're You're purging stuff out of the vacuum.

MarkYou need to trap that somewhere. You can't just send that effluent into your vacuum pump oil. That's creating basically a very hazardous situation. You're not creating a sink for anything that you're trying to remove, that purging process. You're trying to remove volatiles from the hash. If you're going to remove it, there has to be a sink. It has to go somewhere. You can't just Send it into your hot vacuum pump.

MarkThat's a recipe for disaster.

SpeakerMark, I got a question. Now, if people are purging different solvents, And they're cold trapping for terps. Where do the solvents end up once the process stops? Are the solvents not potentially mixed with the terps? Or in the case of a gas, would that then perpetuate the solvents re-evaporating if they have a small amount?

MarkYeah, so if you're like, if you're vaccing down on say like BHO slabs or something like that and so you want to get rid of any of the residual alkane that could be in there, And so what you're going to trap could potentially have some alkane, but you could just boil that alkane away. I mean, again, if it's butane, it's going to be a gas at atmospheric pressure.

MarkAnd so you could certainly just distill away the butane, and what you're going to be left with is your terpenes that you're trapping.

BubblemanTrapping terpenes. Don't let them get away, guys. They're volatile.

MarkYeah. The most volatile essences from the plant are again are going to be lost in any vacuum vacuum desiccating process but certainly you need to make sure that if you used a solvent like butane that there's no residual butane especially in some of these live resin products that have more of an emulsified sort of appearance because again Those emulsified particles can essentially have void volumes in there that can essentially still trap some residual solvent.

BubblemanWell, there we go. So you're going to heat those sledgehammers up, Horatio, and start pressing rosin with them?

SpeakerIs that what's going on? I see everyone posting these tiny little brickettes and they're like, I'm going to do something tonight. And I'm like, does this hook up to something else? But there's just constantly these two little bricks with cords coming from them. And some people are smashing. Some people are heat warming. No, I'll just probably heat up some concrete with some licks with it. Just bust things down.

BubblemanNice. Well, it's nice to see a trophy that can actually be used. To smash things into dust.

EtienneA different kind of shatter.

BubblemanA different kind of shatter. Like, here's your trophy for best shatter. Go shatter some shit.

BubblemanWhen I talked to him last night, I was just like, how was the event? And he's like, oh, it was hard to explain at the border why I was coming over with three sledgehammers. And I was like, what the fuck are you talking about? Do you know who you're talking to right now? I literally was like, Horatio has lost his fucking mind. Like, you don't know how weird that sounded to me last night when you were like, yeah, I got sledgehammers, the awards, they're sledgehammers, and I was just like, I don't know, the way I read it, it just, it sounded so not real.

SpeakerYou'll get used to that over time. I'll just send messages like, yeah, so I'm at the border explaining these sledgehammers to a guy, and they're always real. It's, I don't bullshit, it's just, that's my life. I'm going through this art, you know, theater and I'm just walking with them between my legs like the third leg and they're just clanking and I'm like, you know, I'm going to play some polo, lawn polo soon.

MarkYour third third leg. You know when the only tool you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail.

SpeakerI know that all too well, especially for shaping. It's like, ooh, that nail came out wrong. We'll just tap-a-tap-a-tap-a. We'll fix it all.

BubblemanYeah, someone said in the chat, hey, careful with my sledgehammers. Those are awards. Would be kind of funny, you know, you have your sledgehammers in your garage or whatever, and someone just starts hammering away with them. Dude, those are my awards. Don't worry about it.

SpeakerDarren. Q. What?

EtienneReally? Yeah. Lull in the conversation. Take two. Click.

BubblemanYeah. Lull in the conversation. Take two. That's a good one. I like that.

SpeakerI like to start most of my videos off when I was doing my videos. I haven't done any for a while, but with two bong rips. Standard procedure. Two. Two times. Two totes.

EtienneWell... On the good foot.

BubblemanI can do that. I still can't believe there's like a foot of fresh powder up in Whistler right now on top of like probably a couple other feet. And... You're not there?

SpeakerI'm not... there!

EtienneIs that much to you? Is that what you're saying? What's that? Are you saying that Hash Church means that much to you That you will sacrifice your snow going abilities?

BubblemanAbsolutely. 100%. I mean, ideally I would love to have the hook up to, I remember in Kingston I met this guy that did, he did like streaming. We had an idea that we were going to try and it was actually a really good idea. And it was a streaming concept and imagine if you had like You know, three or four or five channels that were around the world.

BubblemanMaybe you had like a jazz bar in New Orleans as one of them. You had, you know, a roots reggae bar in Kingston, Jamaica. You have, you know, a few of these different bars around the world that sort of specialize in particular genres of music and then stream them all to, you know, a subscription base that could access, you know, all or any of them at any time that they wanted to, whether it was live or after, you know, pre-recorded.

BubblemanAnd I met this guy who taught me about streaming and how you need to have redundancy set into place, particularly for subscription because when people pay, you can't have any downtime at all. So he had access in Jamaica, and this blew my mind. I was like, do you have good internet? He's like, military satellite internet. That's where he was getting the internet to do his streaming from, and it would be, what a nice service that would be if you could just lease that or rent that out from the military.

BubblemanIt's like, oh, can I just like lease some of your, you know, like basically satellite internet everywhere on the planet, like wherever those things point. I thought it was pretty incredible, especially for just a random Jamaican dude. What's your internet hookup? Oh, you know, like, I don't carry a grade.

SpeakerI'm sure we can get Russian military grade. Like, you've just got to find a nation that's falling apart to sell some tech. But, uh, not American military internet. That's only for, uh, fucking random.

BubblemanHey, welcome, Brandon. How are you doing today?

BrandonGood, I'm just setting up a dispensary this morning. I thought I'd pop in and say what's up and see what's going on.

BubblemanAh, doing the good work, doing the good work. You know, I wanted to invite you in, not to get into a bad vibe, but I saw your post the other day about this guy basically using Michaela's story and trying to sell overpriced snake oil salesman type shit to sick and dying people. That bugged me out, bro.

BrandonYeah, it took me a minute to get the information together, but this guy named Sean Leach was selling this family oil, hemp oil, that RSHO stuff to this pediatric patient that Aaron and I were consulting with. He convinced them to come to him instead of us because he had a better oil and it was hemp oil. Well, For $700, he sold this family 10 grams, and a few months later, the little girl didn't make it because the family was told to give less than 100 milligrams a day.

BrandonWe all know that THC causes apoptosis of the cancer cells. CBD stops the spread, but hemp oil just didn't work for this little one. When it came out what had happened, we were very upset because The guy told the family that this was the same oil that Michaela took that helped her. And it's actually the same oil that we helped stop the spread of because it's tainted with arsenic and cadmium, barium, etc.

BubblemanJesus. Yeah, that's no good, dude.

BrandonYeah, so I did my duty and put it out there so not as many other people may end up victimized by this guy.

BubblemanIt's crazy to think that people could kind of pull like that sort of thing when it's such an important kind of timeline where it's like it's a sick person but a sick child. It's like, man, it kind of angers me at the point where no matter how hard we've tried, you still can't access this stuff. Everyone can't access it as easy as they should be able to.

EtienneAnd then you have people who are going to take advantage of people because of their lack of access and then pull something like that. I mean, that's one reason.

BrandonParents are scared and they don't know what to do or who to turn to, so they think the first person that's educating them is a legitimate subject to deal with, and that's not always the case. Some of the best hustlers talk with the best mouthpiece.

SpeakerJeez, that's horrible. What part of the world does this guy live in?

BrandonHe lives in Florence, Oregon. Where? Florence, Oregon. About three hours from us here in Portland. What a piece of shit. Yeah. It's been years since I wanted to fight anybody, but I told that guy if I see him, I'm probably going to punch him in his mouth. I don't normally think like that, but that's going a little far using my kid's name to make a... The grip of money is all I got to say about that.

BrandonI mean, there's no other way around it, but the dude made hundreds of dollars off of a sick kid.

SpeakerBrandon, is that correct? Did he justify the medicine not working by using, by basically, it's like, it sounds really bad when it's one thing to sell snake oil, but you say the child didn't make it, and then the person doubled down and was like, well, well this kid used it and he lived, so it's your kid's fault they died? Is that, that's how I heard it. Is that what he presented back to the parents?

BrandonNo, basically once the child passed away, the guy ceased all communication with the family. And the dad reached out to Aaron while I was at work and asked why it didn't work for his kid. And she started asking him questions. Sorry. And it turned out that the guy had basically started talking to this family at the same time as we did. And when they brought up Michaela, he's like, oh yeah, yeah, I live in Oregon.

BrandonI know them. This is the same oil that she used to cure her cancer. And so he pulled him in. He was more available at that point in time than we were. We were coming back from a trip, I believe is what it was. And we had like 60 grams of oil. We were just going to donate to this little girl, man. It's really sad. Yeah, that's sad.

BrandonWe had a pediatric patient in Michigan that we lined up 120 grams of oil for before we could fly there and give it to her. She didn't make it either. She was an immigrant from Pakistan, came to America for oil. Damn. America for oil, hey? Yeah, we don't often tell people to come from out of the country. Because if you bring your kid here and they do pass away, it's very, very difficult to send their body back home for, you know, their burial and things.

BrandonAnd so we've seen it twice now that these out-of-country families come here and their child passed away and their child has to be buried here. And that's horrible. I mean, especially when you're from Pakistan. That's thousands and thousands of miles away. And so...

SpeakerIt's definitely not very good.

BrandonI don't recommend anybody attract somebody in from out of the country for oil yet. It's just not ready. We're not ready for that yet.

BubblemanOh shit. So how is Michaela doing these days?

BrandonMichaela's doing fantastic. She's in dance class. She's in advanced hip-hop dance and she's getting ready to have a recital. We just went in for an electrocardiogram and a

BrandonThey do a neuropsych evaluation to see how much chemotherapy affected her brain. And she registered as basically not affected by it. And they said that was one of the very first times they'd ever seen that. And so we reminded them that she took cannabis oil the whole time and it's a neuroprotectant. And her oncologist is very interested in it now. Wow.

EtienneThat's just educating.

BrandonHow are you all doing?

BubblemanDoing great, man. Loving life, you know. Doing another Hash Church. We're in episode 63 today. We have almost 700 live viewers and people are chatting in the chat. It's another beautiful week on planet Earth as we fight for our rights.

EtienneWe're all alive. Life is good.

BrandonLife is good. We're traveling to the Emerald Cup next weekend. I was talking to Nick about having you guys stop by the Skunk Magazine booth and doing a little broadcast from there with us all.

EtienneNice. Todd and I will be at the Emerald Cup on Saturday.

BrandonI'm running the Skunk booth, both of them. We have one in the 215 area and one in the Flower Hall.

EtienneThe 215 area.

BubblemanI know I have a booth with Tony that we're doing a little booth and he'll be there so definitely go see Tony or I'll send Tony over to go see you and hit you up with the Terps.

BrandonDefinitely. I'll have some Oregon born stuff with me too.

BubblemanAh ha ha. Very nice. Very nice. Yeah, he was going off about some Oregon stuff the other day. Some crazy Cambodian strain that was just like produced some insane amount of terpenes from From a single amount that more than anything that he had ever, hopefully he'll come in here in the near future. I don't know where he's at right now, but hopefully he makes it in here.

BrandonNice, I'm interested. I just started flowering pineapple Thai. It's a pretty genetic that's circulating around here in Oregon now. I think everybody should get a hold of it.

BubblemanPineapple Thai, what's, you know, where did this one come from aside from Thailand?

BrandonI'm not exactly sure. It just appeared on our scene one day here. I got given a mother of it and cloned it out, and we put it in a flower, and it's really like this beautiful, purpley, big, fat, resin-y coal. It doesn't get very tall, but what happens is all the branches fill out to pure buds. It's like super cropped on its own. It's a really good hash strain, so I'm excited to see it turned into oil to see what comes of it.

BrandonThanks for joining me while I'm setting up a dispensary.

BubblemanWe're just happy to get little updates to see what's going on, let you expose the rats that are out there and at the same time give us that little update on Michaela. That's amazing about the neurodegenerative protective properties of it. That's got to be, like so many people are probably deeply affected by the chemo and the radiation.

BrandonYeah, almost everybody gets what's called chemo fog, and it's just like you're living your life in like a little fog. Things are a little different, and we get told that by all the adults we know that have had chemotherapy, so I'm really glad we didn't end up with that.

SpeakerI went through chemo through the whole 70s. I don't have anything like that. You don't? Radiation, chemotherapy, tumors, man. I spent from 72 to 80 basically in, you know, the hospital.

BrandonMan.

SpeakerMy spine, my skull, my ear, my hip in two locations between my left lung and my heart. Chemotherapy was in methotrexate, radiation. Not all of us. I didn't even lose my hair.

BrandonDid methotrexate make you have... Like frustrations and rages and things like that? Did you have one?

SpeakerI used it up to the point where I was about 10 years old, and that was around when I became a very difficult patient. So I didn't take Methotrexate probably after I was 9 years old. But when I was 9, I was going through a lot of shit. I can't say that Methotrexate gave me anxiety as a little kid. I was fucking dying, literally. I had a lot of shit giving me anxiety.

BrandonYeah, that's where everything's anxious, for sure. Nick had a little bit of attitude and like acting out whenever she took methotrexate and it stopped as soon as that therapy ended.

SpeakerYeah, it's a rough pill, you know. I had my stepfather insisting he's a big six foot five biker, you know, sleeve, tatted, long hair, and He was insisting I take it one day and I didn't want to take it, didn't want to take it. And he was like, fine, you take it, I'll take it. And my mom looked at him like, you're crazy. And he and I took the pills at the same time and raced to the bathroom and we both puked.

SpeakerAnd he never wanted to make me take it ever again once he realized how wretched it was. To be real. Me and this big bike monster sitting on the floor crying after fucking both heaving from chemo.

BrandonThat's a good way to create a bond with your child though if you really want to get right down to it.

SpeakerYeah, you know, it changed his perspective on what I was going through completely because he didn't really, you know, he thought I was exaggerating the side effects until he felt them and then it was night and day difference, you know, night and day. I think it's harder on you parents than it is on us kids, to be honest, because we're just going through it. You're experiencing us going through it in a more conscious way.

SpeakerSo I think it's really emotionally a lot more draining on you than it is on us kids.

BrandonMaybe. I couldn't imagine having to take some of the drugs you guys have had to have taken. I mean, honestly, those things make you feel like death. So... I'm glad to see that you made it through it. Look how old you are, man. That's amazing.

SpeakerOh, no. I'm hell old now. Oh, I know. And you know what? This may sound funny, but if somebody walked up and had a magic wand and said they could, you know, wave it and I would never be sick as a child, I would fucking break it and tell them to keep it because I would rather I went through it and be where I am now than to, you know, wake up in a mill, you know, healthy, you know, and Never did anything with my life because, you know, I had no passion, no need, no desire.

SpeakerSo I'm glad I went through it, as crazy as that may sound.

EtienneMuch love, much respect. Hey, everybody, I have to head out. I'm heading for the week, but I wanted to say hey. Much love. Hope Michaela's feeling better. Oh, yeah. Thank you, everybody. Talk to you all later.

BrandonLater.

BubblemanEnjoy that secret cup, Etienne.

BrandonDaniel is just up at my house.

SpeakerNice. I'm going to run too, guys, and I will catch you next Sunday. We will do something from Emerald Cup. I think that would be really cool, actually. That looks dank.

BrandonThat's Jack Skellington. Nice. Yeah. Yeah, I should probably hop off and set up my dispensary here. This is Canna and the City. We're a Southwest Craft Farmer Cannabis Boutique. We have like a lot of just high-end strains. I know a lot of dispensaries say that, but we've been very selective because our clientele here are a lot of like med school students and attorneys and things like that.

BrandonSo they're cool with paying the extra buck for the higher quality. It's nice to not have to carry a bunch of iffy stuff here.

BubblemanVery nice. Well, if it all looks anything like that, but you held up, that definitely looked like some serious nug.

BrandonYeah, it's about 29% THC, actually. It's really uplifting.

SpeakerIt's Jack, Jack, something else.

BrandonAll right, guys. I got to set up. Y'all have a great day. Thanks for checking in with me. I'll get a hold of you guys next weekend at the Cup.

BubblemanRight on, Brandon.

BrandonBe well.

BubblemanYou as well. Have a great day. You too. Bye, guys.

SpeakerWoo-hoo! I'd like to hear the story when he gets to see that guy to punch him in the face if that happens. That guy was rude. Poor fucking little kid.

BubblemanYeah, it goes to show you there's sort of...

SpeakerI just hate to see people sort of turning THC into the bad guy.

BubblemanIt seems to be unnecessary and it seems to be confusing. You get people focused on the CBD and not understanding that maybe what they need is some THC in there, some of that full spectrum too, not just THC and CBD, but all the other things that are present in particular ratios that are creating those exact effects. It seems as though that's just terrible to hear that someone could do that.

EtienneWhere does he live?

SpeakerI was just wondering what part of the world he lived in. He was up in Canada. Maybe a guy could say hi to him and maybe persuade him to make a better medicine and teach him the better way. Right? Yeah. Well it really goes to like teach how everyone has to become hyper aware of pseudo language because everything that people hold up it seems there's somebody who's quicker to emulate it you know in the local sense then you can actually attain the real so like what that guy preyed upon is very common in the cannabis industry there's so many Thanks for watching.

SpeakerBut I understand it in the sense of a proper extraction, a proper plant that's a full, the full thing, stems and all. When prepared properly, it seems like we have to make so many definitions before someone's like, yeah, yeah, I got that full spectrum. It's called, I made no effort to examine or do any quality control. And like the pseudo bullshit I see people saying in their head when they pronounce a product that, um, Thank you for watching.

BubblemanAnalytical Mike says he doesn't fuck with hemp CBD after reading up on Project CBD. You know, my spider sense has gone off about hemp CBD since day one. Just the way people have approached it because it's never, and I'll tell you in all honesty, it's never about like, wow, we could really help a lot of people with this. It's always about, man, we could enter the market right now and start making money selling this shit.

BubblemanIt's totally got low THC. We could sell this. It's like, If we've fought this long to get the medicine that we want, then why get it in any way less than the way we want it? Which is the medicine, the full plant. We don't want to have to use hemp strains that have grown a certain amount of CBD and extract that and start selling that in a pure capsule.

BubblemanIt's like maybe people want to do that and power to them, but... I think that there's no coincidence that it's no mistake that the connoisseur, the person that loves that highest quality, that great, unbelievable quality, seems to be simultaneously the thing that works for the most intense ailments. You know, for someone with like advanced MS, I always noticed that, and I had a few friends with it, like very advanced MS, even in their 20s, like shaking so bad.

BubblemanThank you so much for joining us.

BubblemanSpeaking and shaking and stuttering and unable to speak barely at all and then to be able to puff, you know, he always puffed these supercharged Remo style joints with hash and oil and super strong herb, but he would literally like melt away to the point where, you know, he now was able to speak, he was having, they weren't even tremors, they were almost just like, you know what I mean, he was almost just in a flow rather than, This other crazy sort of thing that he was in prior to the smoking.

BubblemanIt was very powerful to witness. In fact, back before we had all this other powerful information that we didn't know about cannabis, you know, his story was like one of the first ones where it was like hearing about a child who was sick and getting relief. His relief was so instantaneous and visual that you couldn't deny it. And as a human being, when you saw him Shaking and having tremors, you couldn't help but feel terrible, like the way you would if you were an empathetic being towards anything suffering.

BubblemanYou just feel terrible, and then you see him smoke a bit of a joint, and all of a sudden he's sitting back and able to have a conversation. Unbelievable medicinal effect of cannabis, and of course the reversal, the stereotype, which is like,

EtienneOh, it makes you lazy.

BubblemanYou know, oh, you mean it relieves tremors in MS and Parkinson patients? Yeah, that's what it does. It relieves those tremors. I'll smoke to that.

SpeakerIt's crazy how many people, I mean, just to throw this out there, how, like I listen to a lot of anecdotes and start, like almost like one of those crime maps across the city, you start putting all these pins together and start drawing strings and cutting strings and drawing strings together and going, hey, that connects to that. I've noticed a lot of people in the cannabis industry, especially people who prefer to buy products with, you could say of a lower price point, They're addicted to CBN as their primary medicine because once that, a very small amount of, gets in there, like every time I hear couch lock, I'll hear it in strains that I'm like, that doesn't make any fucking sense.

SpeakerAnd then I ask, how long was it grown for? I keep hearing that heat stress keeps producing CBN and people are definitely a, They're used to it. It's a part of the weed they grew up with. And if it doesn't have that couch lock effect, someone came down on my THC isolate syringes, and they were like, it doesn't do anything for me. It didn't knock me off my ass.

SpeakerI'm like, no, it gives you euphoria, just what THC promises, and lots of energy so that you can push through your cancer, not go into a deeper zombie state. I removed that key ingredient that basically puts you to bed before you can eat enough. And the person was like, oh, so is that why it didn't work for Nana? And I'm like, yeah, dude, she basically was put to bed way before she could reach her dose because as you get higher and higher, it moves out of knocking you out and it starts to do nothing but lift you up.

SpeakerIt's one of the things people go, I've got to get used to this cannabis oil and get up to a gram. I'm like, it sounds like you're building a tolerance to sleep. I don't get it. That's not what it should do. I call it contaminated product when your goal is obviously to heal from something like cancer, not just smoke. When people think that's the effect that they should use to gauge the progress of their THC therapy, it sets them up for complete failure.

SpeakerSo it's like one of the things I just wanted to throw out there and let the chat chew on and everyone kind of think of somebody they know. I'm always looking at why things fail because it's not what people write down. They don't write down these are the times cannabis failed because I look at there must have been something that was not done or an element that was missing or included that blocked the success.

SpeakerSo I'm always trying to up cannabis' success rate.

BubblemanSure, raise the bar. That's a good thing. And you know what? A lot of that success comes from failure. So if people are afraid to share their failures, it's hard to learn from those failures. Instead, they become a segregated failure that only that person has the opportunity to learn from that failure because they were the one there to experience it. And many people can tell you, most definitely people who have had success, That there are failures that literally lead into, it's kind of called turning an opportunity, sorry, turning an obstacle into an opportunity.

BubblemanWhere something starts blocking your path and you're like, oh no, oh no, what am I going to do? And then, you know, you turn it into an opportunity. I did that very same thing when I was busted with, you know, many pounds of herbs. And some cash at a roadblock. And I thought, geez, what am I going to do? And I took the inspiration from that officer and that evening and spending that night in jail and going through those two years of court.

BubblemanI started fresh headies and bubble bags. I thought, what a great kind of inspiration that this moment can have in my life. And because of it, years later, when I went through a roadblock and it was that officer, instead of my heart sinking into my chest and feeling like, oh, no, That's the guy. I was able to be like, hey man, you know what, I want to thank you.

BubblemanYou know, that night I thought you were the enemy. I thought I hated you. I was so mad at you for, you know, taking this medicine away that was going to go to the club. And that really did suck, but you were doing your job. And in the end, you really inspired me to create something great. And I told him, I said, thanks to you, people all over the world are making hash.

BubblemanAnd that's all thanks to you, so. Constable John Lowe, thank you.

BubblemanDid he roll with it or was there a quick search of your entire vehicle? No search of my entire vehicle, which was crazy, because my entire vehicle was full of presents. It was like Christmas time. And so they were all wrapped in the back seat and I imagined he's for sure going to tell me to pull over. But my confidence, the level of confidence, and I think it goes back to what Darren was talking about earlier about normalizing cannabis use and not being looked at as stoners, is to no longer pay, you know, not necessarily...

BubblemanHide it the way, you know, I guess ATN is a fairly extreme version of the safe person. I'm a lot more open, but I'm not open in a way that says, hey, look at me, look at me, look what I'm doing. I'm just open in a normal way. And if I sit down with D420K, it's just like we could be playing chess and we would be acting no different than if we were passing this bong.

BubblemanWe're not looking around like this and we're not making it We're making it so normal that most people don't even see it. And that's kind of the important factor of just normalizing. Just go about your day. Don't worry about what people think. For the most part, their thoughts are not important and shouldn't affect you.

BubblemanHigh functioning cannabis users that get shit done. That's right, Trevor. Much better than the term Term stoner for certain. Parking lot sessions. Yeah, I had a great parking lot session the other day with the West Coast Concentrate guys. We ended up leaving Cardero's, the restaurant, and trying to find a place to film. It had gotten dark and I thought if we turn the inside of the truck lights on it's going to be like we're glowing on the street.

BubblemanAnd there were all these cars passing, it's right by the marina there in Stanley Park. So we went into this little underground parkade, had very tall roofs, which was great because I have a snowmobile on the back of my truck. And yeah, absolutely people in chat can ask questions and we'll try to answer them. But we go in here and of course we can't get the denail to work.

BubblemanWe end up finding a plug on the wall on one of the pillars in the parking lot. And so my window is open and the plug is going out the window into this pillar. And we're sitting there having a session. I posted it on Bubble Man's World. It's kind of funny. Just trying to normalize Full Melt Hash, you know. It was a prime outlet. Absolutely. Absolutely.

SpeakerI'm going to sign off here, guys. I don't think so, buddy. I'll be back in an hour if you're still on.

BubblemanNo, no. You can hang out, man.

SpeakerYou're not going anywhere, D420K. If you need me, man, I'm here. Just call me. I'll be right back. You know I'm there.

BubblemanAwesome, brother. Peace out, buddy.

SpeakerWe'll see you later.

BubblemanI'll have to text him to get him to text me to tell us when we need to have our bong ribs.

SpeakerDo you want to do a little Q&A with the chat? I know that there's a lot of people that would love to corner me and Mark Scaldone to try to pressure answers that typically don't happen, so let's roll some of that. Sure, yeah.

BubblemanSomeone asked me what my first introduction to hash was. I'm not really sure that I could remember. I'm pretty sure first I smoked hash. Herb and oil, and then probably hash. The hash I would have smoked would have for sure been like, you know, the Gold Seal Afghani, a little bit of Lebanese came our way, both blonde and red, so early and late. Didn't see too much Moroccan.

BubblemanIt wasn't really anything that was super inspirational. It wasn't until, I think it wasn't really until 1995 that I saw real hash.

BubblemanWhich I would call real hash in the sense that it was Skunk Man Sam's and it melted into a liquid and literally dripped through the screen and then dripped down the stem of the pipe. And that was also the first time I ever heard the term, if it don't bubble, it ain't worth the trouble. And that stuff was just from another planet. It was really, I mean, holy shit.

BubblemanHoly shit. That was what I would say, my first true introduction to becoming like the person I am today. You know, how can I get more of this? What is this? How does this person even have this? So go ahead and answer any questions that you guys like. There's tons coming off in there.

SpeakerMark, they're asking about the best solvent for cancer or extraction method for breast cancer. And I guess I would be kind of, it's kind of a triage where you look at what's available to the type of person who's asking that. And then among those solvents, which are going to carry the biggest nasties to aggravate their condition. And then basically back deduce which solvents are the safest based on that.

SpeakerDid you want to take a stab at it? Because I never really got why isopropanol is so much more evil than a regular ethanol with other denaturants in it, for instance.

MarkYeah, well, I think one of the things with isopropyl alcohol, and I think even in denatured alcohol, too, is they put things called bitterants in there. And what bitterants are... Thank you so much for joining us today. We're going to get started in about a minute.

MarkThank you so much for joining us.

MarkThank you for joining us.

MarkThank you for joining us today.

MarkIt's probably the safest of all alcohols. Even so, it is a poison. When people die of ethanol poisoning all the time, ethanol, like most alcohols, they do get oxidized in the body, and it's actually the aldehyde that's formed on ethanol oxidation to acetaldehyde that's, I think, implicated in the so-called hangover headache. But I think that you have to be really, really careful, Horatio, too, that a lot of these alcohols are not sort of meant or they're not sold in the sort of extraction grade that they need to.

MarkSo there could be some high molecular weight heavies in there. And again, if you're using the alcohol in just like isopropanol disinfectant applications, You don't have to worry about that because, you know, it's all washed off or it's just not incinerated. But certainly if you're using isopropyl alcohol for extractions and you don't have any grip on whether or not you have high molecular weight stuff in there that could be staying behind after a vacuum purge, that could be problematic.

SpeakerWell, I mean, that's kind of what it is. I mean, from as long as I've remembered fucking rice cooker RSO tech,

SpeakerAssume all of that stuff is removed. There's no vacuum oven in a parent with a sick child who's just got some bud. Like I've looked at how people have come across me and then I look at how exactly like what Brandon described, people come across that other guy and the bottom line is there's 10 of the other guys and they have 10 times more hours per day to be out there trying to attract that vulnerability that I don't want to make it myself.

SpeakerThat's kind of why I look at it and I'm like, You know, I would rather leave it cooking in coconut oil for ten fucking days if that was... if I was in that position, then... Thank you for watching.

SpeakerBasically the people who are going to get the worst of it and need it the most. So that's kind of why it was like, would I recommend something that may not be pretty, but if it's going to be full spectrum, let it be from a non-polar, low-polling, something like coconut oil rather than... When I heard someone accidentally mistook light nap for heavy nap, then they were calling into some radio show three years ago.

SpeakerI'm like, this is insane. And they're like, we purged it for four days. It's still oily. We tried it. I'm like, Okay, if this is really where people are at, if this is where the guy that's trying to help someone is at, then we need simpler things to do.

MarkYeah, I mean, NAPFA is a dog's breakfast shit that just happens to be what the refinery turns out that particular week. If you look at product specifications around NAPFA, there can be high-boiling stuff in there, there could be low-boiling, there could be corrosive, there could be all kinds of crap in there. And when I first... When I first saw the Rick Simpson story and watched the video and all that and saw him cooking down that naphtha soup, that dark black soup in a pressure cooker, I said, oh my God, there's probably all kinds of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in there that are probably cancer causing.

MarkThe last thing you want in your cannabis extract, especially if you're going to treat Dr. I think one of the things that's going to be problematic for medically compromised patients with cancer is things that are going to be problematic in terms of whether or not RSO is free of any compounds that could be bad is going to be determined on what kind of process you're running, the kind of naphtha you're Natha is a great solvent, don't get me wrong, but you've got to make sure it's all gone.

MarkYou can't have any of that in your product. How do you make sure it's all gone if you're just doing it in a pressure cooker in your garage? You just wait for the bubbling to stop?

BubblemanDr. That's toxic waste. When you do remove the rust and lead inhibitors that they put in those camping stove Thank you so much for joining us.

MarkUse an extraction solvent to extract the cannabinoids from the plant. That's a good thinking, but I just think that naphtha is just the wrong solvent to be advising people to be doing this at home in pressure cookers or in crock pots where, again, you have no way of ascertaining whether or not the solvent's leaving anything harmful behind. In that aspect,

MarkAlcohol seems to be a lot safer just in terms of even if a little bit of alcohol is left behind in your extract, Horatio, do you find any issue? Mostly, you're going to get that sizzling and popping on the nail like it would be wet or something like that. I don't really think that any trace amounts of residual alcohol in a cannabis extract is as dangerous as potentially some of these nasties from naphtha and other solvents.

BubblemanI mean, that's why I'm stuck on the solventless quiver myself. I just, you know, with the dry sift and the bubs and the... That's another reason why rosin is such an incredible thing, you know. We're talking about things like the distillate and, you know, trying to get this into the hands of the right people. People like this family that lost their child because they couldn't access great material.

BubblemanIt's like rosin is pretty fucking incredible in that sense that they can literally... Potentially make their own if they really needed to. You know what I mean? Like it's there. It's a hair straightener, it's some parchment, and it's some bud. You can basically make this stuff. You don't need to be a scientist. You can actually squeeze it out pretty easy. I mean, that to me is a fairly disruptive technology, at least to the way that people have been making these extracts using solvents for the last however many decades.

BubblemanYou know, What do you guys think of that? Do you see rosin as being a fairly disruptive technology as well to this whole way of people just pumping out low quality, badly made, terrible solvent choice extracts?

SpeakerWhen it comes to inhalation, definitely. When it comes to the medical applications of cannabis, there are things it's just not going to do, like solve a strain that's got 3... It may only have 3% yield, but that 3% has some crazy THCV we need. That's where rosin hits its limits, and professionals have to step in, but... When it comes to on the smoke, absolutely. Just the fact that, think about how many people are able to re-own their own power and take themselves off the market.

SpeakerThey literally go shopping for the bud they're going to rosin this weekend at a dispensary, rather than the oil that they don't know the origins of but has the same strain name. So from that perspective, it's big.

MarkYou might make a very different choice, right?

SpeakerPeople seem to literally be loving that sport. When it first came out, people were like, this worked, this didn't work. And then you have people like, I'm loving Bubba Kush for Roz and I live for Bubba Kush. It yields like a monster. That's the only thing. I don't want to see another shift of chasing yields and then, again, killing off unique genetics because of a failure to meet an extraction method's terms.

SpeakerThat's about the only downside I really see.

MarkIt's hard to find fans of rosin in Colorado, I'm finding. Most of my friends in Denver are just really stuck on live resin and VHO, and they don't seem to be giving rosin the time of day. But I think this is where I see it, Mark, and this is really interesting, this dynamic, which is that I live in Pennsylvania. We're not a legal state at all, and

MarkYou know, unlike Colorado where you can get extracts and, you know, kids are, you know, dabbing up all the time, we're in a state where you don't have readily accessible, you know, concentrates that you can get at dispensaries and whatnot. We're not even close. We're on the other side of the Mississippi. So, you know, when the kids saw that, hey, all I need is a hair straightener, And some paper.

EtienneI'm saying, dude.

MarkAnd I can take my nugget and I can make a dabable product of it. Its popularity has really increased in areas where you just don't have access to high quality concentrates.

BubblemanWell, that's what I'm saying. And even more importantly, I mean, it's true. Obviously, the experts are always going to have their place in these extraction fields. But for people right now who are suffering that don't have the access... To literally just be able to buy flowers or buy even hash and then squeeze out that great quality that's obviously going to be more decontaminated than it was. It's obviously going to do a better job than it would have.

BubblemanAnd you get it into that pure form, it just seems like it's never been easier for people to access. I mean, for me, I look at rosin for what it is. I love the idea of people being able to access their dabs. Without the use of a chemical solvent that would have otherwise potentially blown their hands off, I think that's great. But at the same time, for me, all day long, I would rather smoke, you know, Full Melt Bubble or Full Melt Dry Sift.

BubblemanThose are, they have something that the rosin just doesn't have for me. I appreciate the strength of the rosin and I guarantee if people were Eating a gram of it at a time and saturating their endocannabinoid system that it would be doing an impeccable job, but at the same time...

MarkThey're all just different preparations and different degrees of purity.

BubblemanBut you know those different footprints that we leave behind are obviously affecting patients. I wish Cheryl T Rose was in here right now, Haley's mom from the Haley Rose Foundation. Hayley suffers from a form of epilepsy that's fairly, you know, has a lot of seizures in her early years and they got her onto cannabis and she was doing the oil and she had great results using, I believe it was like an RSO that she was using.

BubblemanAnd eventually her mom decided, I'm just going to decarboxylate bubble and give her that in capsules, just real simple, full spectrum, all the grades like decarboxylated and put into little capsules. And it was the first time in her life she had ever gone, I believe, close to 200 days without a seizure. You know, just from changing from using a chemical or a solvent to using something that was just made with water, Increase the amount of seizure-free days exponentially, and I think that there's going to be something to be said for that.

BubblemanCannabis is such an incredible medicine that even a shitty extract, people have used them, and people can not agree with me if they want, but people have used shitty extracts to help them out of the current situation of being in a fatal disease, having cancer, having... One guy I met had stage four colon cancer. He did not have access to the golden distillate. He was just taking like black and green nasty oil, like a gram of it a day.

BubblemanAnd he still put his cancer into remission. So I'm not saying people should use those products. I'm just saying cannabis has this incredible healing potential, seems to have a safety net worked into its own healing capabilities that like covers to a degree Thank you for watching.

SpeakerIt's just the ratio of success changes. That's pretty much the only thing. He extracted the gold out of the black and, you know, took on the rest on his body like, you know, us humans do. We work terrible jobs, mining, factories, all kinds of pollution. So our bodies are used to, like, he did what can be done. It's whether or not a five-month-old can do that, that kind of puts... Because cannabis is under attack every time it fucks up.

SpeakerAnd it's... It's the people who are scared of it, like who are flat out scared of it. And then you listen to their story and you're like, holy shit, if I could just give this person one fucking dab, all of that shit would go away. All that tension that's causing the depression, that's causing the work problem, it would all go away. But They're worried they're going to take off their clothes and jump through a fucking window because some fucking strain they had when they were 14.

SpeakerAnd God knows what was in it and I'm sure it wasn't organic. So that's kind of why I'm always hunting the side effects that really, it would be lovely to come back and it's like, no dude, that wasn't cannabis. You totally smoked Eagle 20 and that's what gives people the trips. And, you know, at least people would be able to feel better and go, like, I have a friend that finally was able to try my distillate after a lot of fighting.

SpeakerAnd he was on and he was like, the most important thing I need to write down is that this was awesome and not what I built up in my mind for 15 years. And I'm like, why did that take five years of fighting with you for you to swallow a fucking rice game's worth when your bro's really good at it? Come on, dude. It kills me to know you can't benefit.

SpeakerThat's what hurts the most is when you know people can benefit and they benefit from the simplest things. Some people really need a lot. Their diseases, their disorders, the drug they're addicted to, they need a lot. And then someone I'm like, really? They were in the hospital for sciatica and half a rice grain and they're home, they slept and it's over? That syringe is going to last them a million fucking years.

SpeakerIt's one of the strange things about cannabis that why we have to get the price down for the really sick and For the regular folks, it seems to last a super long time if you do invest your money correctly.

MarkWell, here's another thing where concentrates are helping, which is that I just think about my son, who's a freshman up at college, and they're not obviously allowed to smoke weed in their dorms. And they're going to get in trouble for smoking weed in their dorms. What do they do? They take their weed and they turn it into rosin. They dab, which leaves no smell whatsoever, and now they're not getting in trouble for smoking in the room.

MarkSo it's a way, again, there's a stealth nature about it that you can basically get nice and not make a big stink in your dorm room and get thrown out of college, which is a good thing. This is true. This is true.

BubblemanWe even mentioned it the other day when we had the mad session in the truck and we opened all the windows and let the smoke out. I just thought, you know, like, there it is. Like, that's just gone now. There's no smell. There's no, like, you know, like, overwhelming, like, rank, reek, like it would if it was bud or a joint that we had just smoked. It would literally just be a cloud that would go throughout the whole underground parkade and literally everyone that smelled it would be, like, looking around.

BubblemanIt's the one thing that we love about jaw herbs that seem to get us in trouble the most with it, which is the smell. You know, that overwhelmingly strong smell. And it seems like with dabs, even the turps, no matter how much you dab and turp down, that smell just dissipates nice and quickly, much quicker than it does when it's plant matter that's been burned. That really seems to produce the most reek.

SpeakerI was going to say, like, I had, I don't know, it must have been a week where I tried to smoke three joints that all ended, you know, prematurely, but I would sniff my fingers like I was 14. I'm like, oh my God, it's been so long since those burnt turps came out of my fingertips. It almost smells, like, it smelled so good because it smelled so bad.

SpeakerAnd I'm like, I remember when those fingertips were a crime. Or when you would come into school and be like, smell my fingers, buddy. And it was either pussy or weed you were showing off on your fingertips. Sometimes both. Depends how cool.

MarkDon't get that smell on your fingers. You'll never get it off.

MarkOh.

SpeakerNow people grab terp bottles. Like I handed someone a terp bottle and it wasn't for them, but after they kind of got in the fetal position in the couch and were just sniffing their fingers like, yeah, like they were remembering, you know, a wild night with a lady. It was, I was like, I know that posture, but it's not supposed to be for terps. You're supposed to be remembering something else, dude.

SpeakerWhy are you sniffing so hard in public?

BubblemanThey smell so good.

MarkThose are amines coming out of pussies, not terpenes.

MarkLike triethylamine. If you ever smell triethylamine or trimethylamine, it smells like fish. It's that fishy, fishy omega acid smell. Damn, I'm not sure what kind of pussy you're getting, Mark. No, no, no, no. I'm just saying this is a... Ubiquitous smell to that area. To life.

SpeakerGood life. To life itself. It's ubiquitous among good life. That's the way to say it. We have lovely women viewers that don't want their terps associated with, you know, the common...

MarkIn your exploration down there, if the terpenes that are on your hands... Thank you so much for joining us.

MarkI'm not sure if it works. It's got, I think, a 100 milligram dose of THCA in it.

BubblemanI heard about this.

SpeakerI think it's a quick-to-market item. I've seen a lot of people handed the item, and they're like, what the fuck am I supposed to do with this jerk-off? It seems like a quick-to-market item. I'm not going to say what I was just going to say. I'm going to stash that one. Forget it.

MarkIt's just that the high blood vessel density there would make it an ideal place to basically get into the bloodstream. So I imagine that, yeah, you can certainly get a dose, especially when the blood is flowing.

SpeakerAlright, we're going there. The problem is they didn't make an authentic transdermal. If they make an authentic transdermal, then they would have an authentic product. I'm not trying to suggest anyone do anything with my transdermals. I just have knowledge that it's safe.

BubblemanWell, I'll tell you this much. When you guys started talking about puss terps, we lost about 100 viewers.

BubblemanThey're back. They're back. We got them almost all back.

MarkWell, these are things in life, you know? I mean, you can't avoid it, right? I mean, there's a reason why those smells are there for a reason, right?

BubblemanWhy would you want to avoid it? Let's be honest.

SpeakerWell, they're as powerful as weed terps. That's why I wanted to bring it up. It's the only other thing I know that literally cuts to the heart of man in milliseconds is proper super terps and... The memory of a love affair.

MarkWhat's the evolutionary pressure why these biosynthetic pathways would evolve in this plant? The biosynthetic pathway to make not stuff that smells rancid, but stuff that makes humans attracted to it, like citrusy, and grapey, and bubble gummy, and all these flavors that We would be attracted to anyway. There's, you know, evolutionary pressure that basically put them into the plant.

BubblemanWell, I support all of it. I'm not going to lie.

SpeakerI can't believe we turned our science section into this. We had like a total, like we could have gone tech and just killed Bubble Man and we went to the science of human desire instead.

BubblemanHey, Bubble Man's no dummy. You know, I love science. I'm all about discussing science as much as you guys want to discuss science.

MarkHey, did you guys see that thing this week? Again, someone's come out with a breathalyzer, right? So now this is some inventor who's got money out in California and is basically hooked up with some lab and basically needs to do essentially clinical trials. I mean, I look at the breathalyzer as just being... A big scam because there is no correlation to driving impairment based on THC or THC metabolite levels and until that correlation is made and not only made but made in a statistically significant way with a statistically wide swath of the population because as you know from your guys' travels, weed affects different people differently.

MarkNot everyone's impaired on the same Thank you for joining us today.

SpeakerWell, Mark, was that the main, is that the main, because I mean, I know I started reading it and I'm like, what would I do if I wanted to make a scam? And I'm like, I would target whatever the remainder is that shows that part of the weed that ends up the residue on your fingertips. And I'm like, well, if it was on the typical weed smoker's breath.

SpeakerYou could measure that in concentration, but that would only be accusing them of smoking X many joints.

MarkYeah, the reason why they could do this for alcohol is because alcohol is toxic, right? So you can backtrack from the toxicity dose to where you're impaired and you can't drive a vehicle anymore. What is that? Some... God awful amount like .2%. You're going to blow a .2% if you do a shot of anything and just get in the car right then and there. I don't know how they can possibly do this with cannabis because there is no way of determining impairment until they do the study, right?

MarkIt's not toxic. So you can't work backwards from, okay, here's where cannabis is toxic, so just south of that, that's the impairment zone that they can't be in.

SpeakerThat would literally be like measuring how long did you hold it in decides how high you get. But the only thing I wanted to say is when it comes to Impaired driving. If they came up with a light response test, like something that would measure if you were sleep deprived and chargeable as an offense, like that reaction time iris response would be the only thing I could consider like, okay, you can't respond to me throwing a fist whether you like it or not.

SpeakerAnd it would have nothing to do... Basically, you could have one joint and be dead tired and you would fail the test, but you shouldn't have been driving anyway because you were dead tired. And as a person who's very tired all the time, I know sometimes I'm like, holy shit, if I was... I could pass for drunk, but I'll beat the test because I'm just tired. This world's not a safe place.

SpeakerWe need to test for reaction time more than anything else. So, like, because I... I remember being about 16 and I was amazed. My buddies would be like, we'd smoke and they'd be like, let's go to the corner store. I'm like, you can't do that. You can't get in a car. We're going to die. I once tried to get out of park and I just fell asleep.

SpeakerI was afraid. I hadn't built any tolerance yet. But by 17, I could whip around the corner like everyone else after a hit and it really has to do with each individual's person's ability to Reaction time, and that's something that changes like a hockey goalie, you know, fresh or tired. So, like, if they did have a test, because I don't want an 18-year-old who completely can't handle a red versus green, they lose their ability for that to be English, and they're at a stoplight.

SpeakerThat's not cool, and that's not safe. Like, I get being that high. I also get, you know, Bubba Man's not going to get that high unless I got big kills, you Thank you so much for joining us today.

MarkJust to get off topic just for a second, we were talking earlier, Mark was talking about how the instant, even with these bad medicines like our SO that might have a lot of cancer-causing crap in there, our bodies are so starved for the cannabinoids that they immediately respond to that. Remember Naya, the

MarkWe're going to talk a little bit more about that in just a few minutes. We're going to talk a little bit more about that in just a few minutes. We're going to talk a little bit more about that in

MarkAs the way Todd would say, the way that they practice medicine, because the endocannabinoid system has only been known for a handful of years, and it hasn't been universally taught to most of the practicing physicians out there and oncologists. I think that that's some of the frustration that Mishulam feels in that movie, The Scientist, is he feels that, are we missing something? All this stuff has been known.

MarkIt's been known I think part of his frustration, he feels like he's done his part. He's discovered not just the active ingredient, but the system that's in our body that's hardwired to interact with this active ingredient.

MarkAnd now this system is changing the way, you know, it should change the way medicine is practiced from here on out. Because a lot of these drugs are bypassing the endocannabinoid system, and all the toxic side effects you're seeing from most of these drugs are the things that are killing the patients, not the affliction itself.

SpeakerDr. True indeed. Bringing up a point to Mark, someone keeps asking in the chat, are terps legal? I brought up that they're technically legal, but if you fail a cannabinoid test, then you're in trouble. Now, Bob, man, that was in relationship to patients. Because the way he's asking, it's like, I'm going to be able to shove this in a cop's face, say, smell this, it's weed, and you can't bust me.

SpeakerAnd I'm like, look, dude, you're going to get some terps off of some guy.

MarkI got it from a great dude. I got it from a pine tree. I got it from a lavender bush. I got it from...

SpeakerIt's just a failed terp extraction can have cannabinoids, and then you're in trouble when they go to swab even your rig if you get like, oh, it's just terps I was dabbing. Don't let it go to your head.

MarkMake this clarification because I see some confusion in the chat room. So if you read the Controlled Substances Act, right, the CSA Act of 1970... It says that anything derived from the cannabis plant qualifies under the term marijuana, spelled with an H, of course. Tony had some stuff on Blue River's site, I think, this week, where he was talking about completely THC-free terps that are derived from cannabis.

MarkIf they're derived from cannabis, it's Schedule I, my friends. That's the way the law is written. If you don't like the law, Write to your congressman and your representatives like I have and like so many other people have and tell them to change the goddamn thing. It's antiquated and it sucks, but that's the way the law is. So anything derived from the cannabis plant, anything, whether it's THC or terpenes or THC-free or cannabinoid-free or not, is Schedule I materials.

BubblemanWhich is all over the U.S., which is you can go buy recreational and medically in multiple states.

MarkRight. Well, I mean, again, Mark, what we're talking about here is the conflict that exists between the federal level and the state's level. So, you know, the Cole Memorandum basically says that as long as those enterprises in those states operate underneath the laws that those states have put in place, the federal government will take a hands-off approach. And so again, the Cole Memorandum is not binding, and certainly we can get another president in who can basically turn all this over and say, hey, that's a Schedule I material.

MarkThose states are out of order, and we're going to come down on them like a ton of bricks and shut everything down, which is why everyone who supports cannabis needs to get out and vote for Bernie Sanders. The presidential candidate who has said that he's going to take it off the list, remove cannabis from the list, which is where it should be. So everyone watching Hash Church and your moms and your cousins and everyone who's on the side of seeing cannabis being brought to the people here in the U.S. should be voting for Bernie Sanders.

SpeakerSo Marcus, like the kind of scientist I might pull up in court, To help me in my, I'm going to jail for terps. That pre, I understand that by the books. Now let's say when, and like, for instance you go CBN is not a cannabinoid, it's not active, it's not psychoactive, I won't go to jail. That's an easy provable, you got it from THC, I know where you got it from.

SpeakerAre there, like, is the police dog caryophylline terp, has it got any... Like, A. Caryophyllene or Canna Caryophyllene, anything that would say, my terp soup isn't just genius?

MarkYeah, I mean, all of those terpenes and terpenoids are ubiquitous throughout Mother Nature's plant kingdom, and she makes no exclusion for, ooh, these terpenes are different because they're in cannabis. Absolutely not. Myrcene from hops is the same myrcene as you get from Thank you so much for being here. I appreciate it. Thank you for having me.

SpeakerCannabinoids are present in nature's maybe greatest plant. That's kind of why it seems once cannabis gets on this role of being hyper unique and it's this and it's that and it's uses, science goes out the window and what ifs get strong when people are high. Cannabis is this weird world where people think most about it when they're stoned and apply the least rationale to what ifs. But that's kind of why I thought, I'm like, how the fuck do you prove I didn't just make an awesome blend that matches some train wreck that you could say I got it from?

SpeakerIt's the one aspect of cannabis that seems you can't really prove it's derived from cannabis, no matter how much you call your shit's train wreck, because there are plenty of people with fruit-based terps bullshitting that their stuff is cannabis-based. And they'll never go to jail because even if they get busted, it proves they had nothing to do with cannabis. They're just cheating.

MarkWell, I think that the cannabinoids do have some taste. They do contribute some taste to the hash. They're not as floral and as fragrant certainly as the terpenes and the terpenoids. But there was a discussion on the Facebook Thank you so much for joining us today.

MarkYou know, extraction run and then reincorporated later after you've purified your, it activated your THC. So, I mean, I think that there's a couple different ways that you can go about doing that. If you were doing an extraction and you're doing a, say, like, if you're making like an ethanol extract ratio and then you're wrapping down your ethanol, now you're getting to the point where We're ready to basically start distilling and activating the THC.

MarkSo I think if you take a low boiling fraction, if you take a low boiling cut, I think what you're going to find is that cut's going to have a lot more flavor in it than say your higher boiling cuts. And the other thing that you can always do too, again, is that Take that low-boiling cut. Take it out of the system. Take it out of your distillation apparatus because you don't want to be pulling vacuum over the top of that low-boiling cut because eventually some of that stuff's going to evaporate and you're going to either lose it in your trap or lose it into your vacuum.

MarkSo when you take that low-boiling cut, it's probably worth it to break down the distillation, take that low-boiling cut, take it off of the system, and then come back in and do the rest of your purification.

SpeakerWell, that's kind of what I wanted to just kind of say. People have to stop. I'm getting an echo mark. Can you pause here? Perfect. The Clear is a trademark from a company, just like LHO is a trademark for what I do. But anyone can get limonene and make an extract and tag LHO and say, oh, I'm joining a class of people. I've found, especially with my experience, that there are Of the new generation of people who are now THC distillation artists, they don't have a fucking clue.

SpeakerAnd the clear concentrate is a different product than something that is clear looking. And many people are simply producing clarified reclaimed. With all the contents that color is not. Really? The sublimator can make clear... Looking reclaim out of weed all day. That's its product. The byproduct of the sublimator vaporizer is a decarboxylated oil that is visually clear. You can collect it and tag yourself as a clear artist, but it's not true.

MarkIf you're smoking good hash out of your rig and you get the reclaim, yeah, I mean, the reclaim is going to trap a lot of crap. You know, like, especially if you do different flavors. I don't know, too, about the whole water solubility issue of that because, again, when you're pulling a hit through your rig, you're pulling it through at very high temperature, and you're kind of doing a flash, what's the right, a flash condensation.

MarkI guess that's the way, because you're taking this ultra-high temperature, you know, vaporized oil and now running it through that cold water, and as it runs through the cold water, It's going to start to basically condense some of that stuff left behind, and it's going to do so in a non-linear fashion.

SpeakerYou're talking about the art of the rig now, and why certain rigs translate more terms to you. That's the art of the rig.

MarkI never thought that it made that big of a difference until you actually smoke out of one of those Klein recyclers. I used one of those. This was a couple months ago. And it really does make a big, big difference. The glass and the way it hits. I think, Mark, you had mentioned this too as well, right? You notice a big difference from piece to piece. Oh, yeah.

MarkEven with the same hash. You could hit the same hash on two different pieces and almost get like a completely different flavor.

BubblemanAnd then there's so many different nails to hit with. So you have your sapphire, you have your quartz, your titanium. It's just like ridiculous.

MarkYeah, so all that's going to play a big role. But getting back to re-salvaging, reclaiming, I think there's a few different things you can do with that. Again, if it's clear, if it's a clear product, I guess you could dab it, but it tends to not be clear, right? It tends to be really dark. Doesn't it?

SpeakerWell, no, that's kind of why I was saying everybody's just using a trademark. Like, every brown soda is not Coca-Cola, but everyone's calling it a Coca-Cola now to get into the market versus, basically, if someone gets a result that is see-through, they're done. They don't want to really, they're short past distillation artists and they're on. So, there are many flavors, including... Completely destroyed, heated, and rearranged turps that are recondensed back into an oil.

SpeakerThat's kind of why when I was on that pursuit of what is making your standard RSO so variable to people. Why are people barfing? I started to look at people bragging about, I don't lose any turps because I seal it. And I'm like, well, that's a heat event that you don't understand. It doesn't mean you just get the turps all perfect. So when I see that in the clear, I'm like, holy shit, this is what happened in the jar, but only the rotten ass terps went into the cannabinoids, and that alone makes me barf.

SpeakerSo I know now what is the barf component, and think about misterials that are getting heated and recondensed, there are so many, it becomes garbage in, garbage out, all over again with the clear, you can't, you have to become really skilled to... So you're talking about hemp seed oil

SpeakerBasically, that's the big technology that everyone's trying to convert to mass produce clear so that there's one billion vape pens and the market's destroyed. The big thin white wall units that really, you know, they have the flasks that are just putting out black and then the ones that are putting out orange, but refining hemp seed oil The clear which can go from something as simple as two flasks and a burner, a kugelrohr, my rotovate method which I started with before moving on, like it's not a defined product until people start setting production terms.

SpeakerThat's kind of why I want to tell people back off just trusting someone because it is clear. Because you know what else is clear? Heated up old school hash oil. And having that sold to you as the clear is fucked off. Especially when it's not even fully decarred.

MarkOkay, so there's a couple things. First of all, you cannot distill seed oil. Seed oil is not a distillable product. Those are high molecular weight, triglyceride, fatty acids that just will thermally decompose and do not distill. So basically, when you're getting seed oil, either from… It was seed oil. My mistake. It's my mistake. Okay, okay, okay. So they were basically… So, CBD, okay, let's talk about this for a second.

MarkThere's a little bit of miscommunication about this earlier. So, okay, so what makes the magic of the cannabis plant is an enzyme called We're going to talk about CBG synthase, which basically puts together CBG. When CBGA comes together, that's basically the first precursor that then gets downstream processed into either THC or CBD. What processes CBG into THC or CBD are two other enzymes that are independent from one another.

MarkThey're not dependent on each other, and different strains and different varieties of plants Over-expressed one enzyme over the other. A high CBD cultivar is just a plant whose genes express more of the gene that codes for that enzyme. Therefore, its CBGA pool is translated into a CBD oil versus our favorite strains, which are high THC strains, which rather than making CBD, makes THC. As you know, there are also strains that have Just about the same amount of enzyme activity and make about a one-to-one or a 50-50 mixture.

MarkThink of it like this. CBD oil is nothing more than just basically blasted All of these are low THC cultivar wheat, right? Has nothing to do with seeds, has nothing to do with the seed oil. Seed oil comes about so the hemp seed itself are defatted by just a process where they just use pressure and they just basically smash the seeds and what you end up getting out of that is that seed oil, just like cold pressed olive oil, right?

MarkSo that seed oil. We were talking before about phony CBD oils that were supposedly derived from hemp. This is again where some of these materials were ended up supposedly being high CBD oils and what they were were just tainted products of hemp seed oil that had no CBD whatsoever in them. So to go back to your question, Horatio, the real question becomes, again, in those varieties where you're making CBD or those varieties you're making THC, you're still doing the same thing.

MarkYou're growing up these plants. You're taking them through flower. You're basically harvesting the plants and basically just extracting the resins from the flowers. So that's where CBD oil is coming from, and there is good CBD oil out there. And good CBD products. I'll point to Mary's Medicinals and our friends at Elite Cannabis in Colorado. Dave Bonville, I think, is in the chat room. But I think, again, there's two aspects of this that people seem to keep on screwing up.

MarkHemp oil is, and when they say it, they call it CBD oil, is just oil that's obtained from a high CBD cultivar. That's it. It's not the seed oil that's being pressed and then used for food purposes. No. Right. So that would not have the CBD in it. Right. It might have a little bit of CBD in it. Very little. Yeah, it might have a little bit, but for the most part, it doesn't.

MarkBut Mark, am I imagining this, or do we keep on going over this? It seems like this seems to be a reoccurring issue that people are confused on what CBD oil is versus hemp oil.

SpeakerIt's a smoke oil side effect. People keep putting out that, like even right now as this whole segment goes down, I can see how people are sifting for the branding labels they need, like this whole distillate term, like distillate artist is something. I'm like, you're not. I don't see you doing any essential oils or anything else than burning up your dirty old oil and trying to get a new product out of it because basically what people do with their clear shows who they are.

SpeakerThank you so much for joining us.

SpeakerSlander against low THC cultivars that are now defined as hemp, and they're calling it synthetic CBD versus true CBD. And I'm like, is this just a slogan to get your strain on deck? Because as far as I remember, to become hemp, all you had to do was breed out THC, but it's not a different plant. You could go back to the field and genetically select up your THC levels again out of that same field.

SpeakerIt would just suck. There's now this new movement that if you sourced your CBD from... A certain, I don't know, logic of growing, it can't be right. And I'm like, well, I get if I don't necessarily want to be stuck with genetics that have been bred out to only produce one thing. It feels like a factory chicken to me. But where does an actual alteration in the cannabinoids potentially affect therapeutic success?

SpeakerThat's what I'm like, I don't, I can't seem to answer and I haven't done it yet. Why am I not refining with all of my skills, all of the CBD I can to eliminate side effects and then go from there? But at the same time, I met someone yesterday who I can see the man is reeking, his life is breeding CBD for children and what he means by that is THC varieties with ratios that work.

SpeakerAnd he's got strains all over the spectrum because no one ratio or plant works for something. Every time someone says, I tried your product and it worked but I got high, then I tried some total hemp bupkis and it worked. And I'm like, well then I guess you won, but I still don't understand why I know that hemp bupkis is only, it's got a one in three success ratio.

SpeakerWhere when it's paired with THC it seems to have a two in three and three in three success ratio. I'm looking at this from a clinical success. Is there any merit to an argument like, oh, that's synthetic CBD, it's garbage, because it came from a plant that is just, man did it. We bred out THC, we bred in THC. We bred in THC because we thought it was good, but if it was a seizure culture, maybe that was bad.

SpeakerBoth seem to be man doing it again, saying I should breed in more CBD, just like in the 70s it was I should breed in more THC. I find an argument that says this type of bred in CBD is good and this type of CBD that comes from bred out THC is bad. It sounds like utter bullshit. It makes no sense to me. How the fuck is one where you just breed out THC bad and another where you're breeding in CBD good?

MarkWell, I go back to your point where you said something about synthetic CBD.

SpeakerI'm not aware of, so someone's making it synthetically from not, No, they're essentially saying if you got your CBD from hemp, which is nothing but weed that's had THC bred out of it, that's synthetic, that's garbage, and you should be waiting for my five-to-one strain that is the God's holy gift, and only I have it. And that's real CBD. That's why I feel like it's just a new snake oil.

BubblemanI think, Horatio, the real factor is that it has nothing to do with CBD, but everyone makes it about CBD by saying, oh, this is about high CBD. So when you give credit to one single cannabinoid Out of a medicine that's working, then that gives credit to saying, oh, let's extract that cannabinoid, CBD, the one that's doing all the good job from this hemp plant. And it's like, if they let us have that hemp plant without THC, do you think it's going to have the same medical value?

BubblemanI can guarantee not.

SpeakerWell, this is why I'm like, what is the difference between a guy that just keeps breeding a THC strain like sour tsunami and just keeps breeding down or up the CBD ratio? Like, I'm totally interested in a strain that yields 25% CBD because it saves my time. Hemp yields jack shit. It's a waste of time. But that's in economics. Like hemp doesn't have a bunch of CBD.

SpeakerIt's not a high CBD strain. It's just if you refine enough of it, you can get a high amount of CBD through labor. But that's kind of why I'm like, well, look, in my condition, if there's literally a child that's like, I'm sorry, I totally bought that hemp shit and it worked. And I'm like, well then fuck the barfing, I'll do it just to get you off the side effects of that hemp shit, but I still want something that yields better.

SpeakerThat's kind of why I'm like, shouldn't we just be trying to get hemp to yield more CBD, and when would it move from hemp to just being called wheat again? It seems like the government created the term hemp by defining a percent THC, but there's no real plant that's hemp, it's all cannabis of different genetic expression.

MarkWell, they bind to different receptors, and depending on what kind of medical condition you're looking to treat, those receptors are implicated at various points during the time course of that disease. What's known, again, is that CBD binds to the CB2 receptor, and actually, it's agonized Meaning that it's kind of competitively competing with THC. So when you co-administer THC to CBD, they're both sort of fighting for that receptor because one basically turns it on, the other one turns it off.

MarkAnd again, like most biological conditions in the body, There's a lot of very subtle switches where it goes one way or it goes the other way. And you always got to remember, too, the two things that we're not really talking about too much are delivery, which is going to be different for different diseases and different disease states, but also our own body chemistry and how our bodies deal with the assault of these molecules, which can be looked as invading Thank you so much for joining us.

MarkWe'll be right back.

MarkYou know, having an overdose or having some type of toxic situation like you can with other medications where you can really play a guessing game but end up in a real bad situation.

SpeakerSo is it possible that there is basically Hemp Hemp. And it's not the same medical recipe as cannabis with a ratio one way or another. I'm looking at it from the standpoint of clearly the synthetic shit they make that looks like THC, it doesn't work the same. So I'm totally... Just wanting that truth. I'm like, I don't have time to waste. I don't want some fucked up CBD to potentially make a one-to-one that worked for, for instance, on one child.

SpeakerI can only deal with the parent who's like, if you don't help me, I'm going to go get some black shit for my child. And I'm like, well, look, I can't change your ignorance right now, your panic. I can affect your child's... Thank you for watching.

SpeakerWhat the fuck? I have a border to cross tonight. I could beg him and solve so many problems in Canada, but I have a border to cross tonight. This is stupid. Why am I going home empty-handed and someone else is just going to sell some absolute shit that may not even have CBD in it?

BubblemanYeah, everyone loves to call things their CBD strain. Oh, this is my CBD. I even asked the great gardener, actually, when he named all his strains CBD. I'm like, so you crossed CBD? The Canatonic with Renee and all these other strains and now that's like the Renee CBD and the Hayoma CBD and the, like what, aren't there other things going on there? I asked them, I said, one day do you think there'll be something other than the CBD that we have an interest of and knowing, why are we so focused on, I guess it's the new organic, it's the, you know, it's that natural, it's like that word that promotes people in grocery stores to pick this one instead of that one.

BubblemanAnd I just wonder what the validity of it is. Like, why is that any more valid than everything else? It doesn't get you high.

MarkCBD doesn't get you high. Exactly. It doesn't bind to CB1, right? It binds to CB2, and CB2 is not the central nervous system cannabinoid receptor. That's CB1. Alright, I'll throw it out there.

SpeakerThe one thing I have heard in California is this CBDV. And because it's even rarer than our THCV, which seems to subtly be in strains that always... All I know is anywhere where I see THCV in a favorite strain, I find a highly effective person. So, like, I don't know if highly effective people gravitate to weed with THCV in it, but it just seems to always be a cannabinoid that's present in favorite strains of really functional, high-strung people who use cannabis to manage themselves.

SpeakerSo when I hear, like, oh, of all these people racing for that CBD gold mine, some people have accidentally spat out trace amounts of CBDV, I'm like oh finally you know a genetic variance that produces something interesting that says breeding is getting somewhere versus just trying to force in a percent of CBD to prove your strain is a medical um It seemed like CBD felt like medical marketing.

SpeakerThat's why I was always trying to weigh why is it a person who doesn't give two shits about, except for their ass issue, they said it works, they don't care, they don't have a vested interest, they're telling the truth, but the guy who's pumping it, that guy's not telling the truth, he seems to be spinning it. Where is the actual medical benefit versus where is the filibuster of bullshit because it soothes the concept of running away from getting high.

SpeakerWhich seems to work for baby seizures just fine. Pure THC can stop a seizure within 20 minutes. So that kind of through all that CBD is the only answer out the window. So I know this shit had no CBD in it. When I see that kind of clinical data, I'm like, okay, now I need to write down what type of seizure and know a little bit more about the 72 different types of ways a child seizure can show up because I need to know the difference the next child I come across because I hear about kids that are like, Pure hemp crap saved my child.

SpeakerAnd then the next person goes, I tried that hemp crap. It killed my child. So clearly, seizures aren't seizures. And inflammatory disorders that trigger seizures Possibly be why some things work with CBD only, but for the general population it's not solving jack shit. That's kind of why my question is, is it synthetic? Is that a real argument? Even if it's not the true word synthetic, they seem to be slandering hemp as poorly bred genetic material for making CBD and that didn't make any sense to me where I can understand breeding for yield for production value.

BubblemanWelcome, Tony and Jeff. I'm just going off here in chat. People are freaking out about me wearing this Hitman hat. They're like, get that American glass as China glass hat off, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And I'm thinking, I had to block the guy out of chat because he just wouldn't stop about it. But here's the thing. If you're wearing a ton of clothes that are made in China or on a computer that's made in China or using a phone that's made in China, maybe you shouldn't be shitting on someone that's making glass there.

BubblemanI don't know the story. I'm not saying I go and buy Chinese glass. I'm just saying personally, he gave me the hat. It's a nice hat. I wear it. Sorry if that offends you and that you need to fucking turn the entire conversation about China. Everyone's got a problem with China until you find out half the shit they're wearing and that they own is made in China.

BubblemanWhat the fuck is people's deals?

SpeakerChina's working hard, dude. That's what it is. It's the actual fear that China's working hard for something like America used to. Right.

BubblemanIt obviously is something strange because it's like, okay, so all your Christmas decorations are made in China, but you don't want to buy a pipe that's made in China, but you're going to take the pictures of your pipe with a camera that was made in China. Like, it's just hard for my brain to... And this whole, like, made in America, like, what about... While ordering Chinese food.

BubblemanWhat about made on Earth? Like, what is with the segregation of, like, segregating certain people for... They're Earthlings. We're Earthlings. They made some shit. They're good at making shit. It's like, damn!

MarkThey make the best egg rolls, too.

BubblemanDude, I'm just going to smoke some hash and say welcome to Tony and Jeff again. Sorry for my little rant, but holy fuck!

SpeakerYeah, well, like, everything behind you is made in China. The ink that's on those pictures is made in China. The camera's made in China. The stitching is made in China. Your zipper's made in China. I mean, China is like one-sixth of the world. And those guys are way, you know, these guys are, you know, they're working eight days a week. Their kids are way more advanced in, like, so many things because they put such an emphasis on education and math and scholastics.

SpeakerAnd the one thing I heard like a theory, I heard a theory from a doctor the other day which was kind of interesting, Mark would probably like this, is that there's a phenomenon kind of like being discussed about the lack of sleep and what that does to the body long term in our society long term as They show humans getting taller. What they're finding is like when we're not sleeping properly, it stunts our growth.

SpeakerI don't know what Mark thinks about this, but it's an interesting theory in the fact that think about our symbiotic relationship to phytochemicals in plants and the fact that plants do most of their budding and growing at night, and they do a lot of their photosynthesis and intake during the day. Well, humans, if you're doing four and six hours a day when you're a child, and think about when we were a kid, how much sleep we would get.

SpeakerYou know, you go to bed at 8.30, 9 o'clock, and you wake up, you know, 7, 8 o'clock, you're getting like 10, 8 to 10 hours of sleep. But imagine if you started doing 6 hours of sleep, 6 to 8 hours of sleep, what that might, what kind of impact that might have on the body. So there's some, so I heard a theory that in China they're working so hard, so young, Thank you for joining us.

SpeakerPretty much his whole life skipping sleep. The first thing I was like is don't say that's why I'm short because that'll fuck me up because yeah, obviously I very much understand the Chinese work ethic and the one thing I'll say is it's going to be a detriment to their culture to reject cannabis because you need Thank you for joining us.

SpeakerYou could say new products or I don't know what's working now that the seizures don't, I haven't had one in a respectable amount of time that I don't consider it something that's coming to get me. It's just I don't worry about seizures anymore even though I haven't changed my sleep pattern. It's worse than ever. I was in and out of Seattle in two hours driving on the super same no sleep and then back here.

SpeakerIt very, very, very detriments to your health if you don't use cannabis almost perpetually. You can't keep it up and manage your emotions. So China's, there's going to be a backlash. There's going to be things like violence that are going to stop popping up in their society. They need that cannabis if they're going to grind that hard. What do you think, Mark? Do you think lack of sleep when we're real young affects our height or do you think it's far-fetched?

BubblemanI mean, I wouldn't put it too far past. It's the stress on top of the lack of sleep and the sort of lifestyle. I mean, that could definitely affect the way you eat and the way your body absorbs nutrients and the way that you grow. I mean, who knows what else is going on. They might have, I mean, look when we had Colton in here talking about when he got his Crohn's disease at that young age that it stunted his growth from his colon becoming sick It literally was stunting his growth, and he wasn't growing normally.

BubblemanSo, I mean, maybe a lack of sleep is affecting people's colons and other parts of their organs and body, and, I mean, it seems pretty realiztic that sleep is a fairly important factor, but... Galdon?

MarkYeah, I think it has a lot to do with it. I think it has a lot to do with your stress levels. I mean, certainly... If you're stressed, you may not be consuming all the calories and all the protein that you need to have normal growth. I would also point to the work that was done by Mishulam's collaborator over there in Israel that shows that bone health is actually promoted by cannabinoids, that cannabinoids Have a lot to do with the signaling processes that activate cells called osteoclasts, which are cells that have to do with the formation and reorganization of bone.

MarkAnd as the baby boomer population ages and people are living longer lives, we have to preserve those bones. And I think that So, cannabinoid consumption can, again, in a nutraceutical kind of way, basically throughout your lifetime, basically supplement your living because it's basically maintaining homeostasis, which is going to increase your health over a longer period of time. The only thing that I would say again about people being shorter or not or growing taller as a function of cannabis use is wouldn't you think that again if people who are less stressed out, people who don't have anxiety, I mean all the things that cannabis brings you, it helps your digestive system, it helps you basically maintain homeostasis.

MarkThank you so much for joining us.

SpeakerBut did you sleep? I slept good, man. I went to bed early. I woke up early, but I was on a pretty strict, my stepdad had me on a pretty strict chore, a lot of chores, and had to go to bed early and wake up early in the Midwest.

MarkI do think the size of what you wear has to do with your genes more than anything else. It has to do with The genetic makeup, you know, you're going to resemble your dad, you're going to resemble your mom or your grandparents. I'm not sure that environmental conditions like cannabis use is really going to affect your growth too much. I would tend to think that it's not going to affect your growth.

SpeakerThey're always like, oh, growing young minds and cannabis, it's going to frick-a-frack them. I'm like, yeah, their right brain is going to turn on and they won't become gears in the wheel.

MarkYeah, we were always told it was undergrowth, right? But we were always told not to go swimming until after a half hour after you've eaten that hot dog or hamburger, right? So that was a bunch of bullshit, too. We were told a lot of crap.

SpeakerYeah, I'm about six inches taller than my dad. And probably 80 pounds heavier than anyone that's been born in all of my geology. Like that's, like my dad was the tallest. So, I mean, the theory that we're getting taller and bigger, and at least in my family, was true. My brother was, you know, he's built, he's six foot one. So I think honestly it was because I grew up in Kansas and I was farm to table.

SpeakerYou know, I didn't really, I don't know. I feel like that was part of it. But I don't know if cannabis affects the height, but I definitely think like lack of sleep early on when you're like 4 to 12 years old, if you're not getting a full 8 hours, it could definitely affect you. I thought it was an interesting theory. But so I've got something else to show you.

SpeakerI think that Scott Doan would find this interesting that's right behind me. And... And I think Jeff will pop up too, and I think Horatio will too, and a lot of other people. So there's some things that I wanted to clarify, and I talked to Mark about it, and I'm in the middle of moving, and I've been on the Bay Bridge twice, the Golden Gate twice, and in heavy traffic, so I just pulled shit out of my car.

MarkWe need a Golden Goat Bridge. Yeah, Golden Goat Bridge.

SpeakerBut yeah, I did a lot of heavy traffic this morning because I had to go see a patient in need and wanted to talk to me. And so I did not know where this location was. I put it on my GPS and I was like, oh yeah, it's quite a ways out there. I tried to make it back. But long story short, I'm moving into a new location into Oakland.

SpeakerSo I just made it back home, pulled some things out of the trunk, out of my car. Thank you so much for joining us.

SpeakerSome information's gotten out there that's confused people. They have confused the crossover of this with terpene extraction, which has nothing to do with it, except that you will capture some terpenes in this drying method. But this that I have behind me is going to be a pump, a chamber, and a cold trap that's set up that you could do at home. You don't need to spend $4,000 on a freeze-dryer.

SpeakerAnd if you were ever in science class, and I know Scaldone was, and we had to make freeze-dried ice cream, this would be one of those fun experiments. And so I'm going to show you what I've got going on. This is an oil-less pump, a rocker pump, a rocker 610. It has a little air filter that sits here that you can control the atmospheric pressure. And the little filter that's there, and it's important that you understand it's an oil-less pump.

SpeakerThere's no oil in this whole thing, so you're not changing oil. It's a lab-grade pump that you can get online. You see it common in most, if you look up any kind of website, look up the Rocker 610. It's a good pump. It'll take you an atmosphere of pressure. But what you do is you set up a, that's a Pope scientific thermos. If you ever know who Pope Scientific is, you can look that website up.

SpeakerThey are one of the leaders in vac distillation and wiper systems. You see Jeff smiling right now because a lot of people in the industry use that type of technology to make raw and clear things up. And it's good technology. It's been out there for a while. And I think that, you know, everyone has a variation of this type of system when you're dealing with, say, hydrocarbons or you're dealing with CO2.

SpeakerBut in this case, this is set up for a solventless experiment.

MarkAnd let's see here. I'll show you what it looks like.

SpeakerIt's a poke. Pope Thermos. It's designed for nitrogen, and I'm not suggesting that anyone go out and...

MarkIt's actually called a flask.

SpeakerDoer flask. Yes, exactly. Vacuum flask. And it's a doer. And interesting enough, it's funny because on the outside it says, can shatter unexpectedly and may cause injury. So... You definitely don't want to put, you know, there's a couple different things here. Like if you're at home, you're not going to be able to access liquid nitrogen very easily at the home. But you can simply put dry ice in here and you can put denatured alcohol.

SpeakerYou can get that from Home Depot and you can get your dry ice from pretty much any store. But if you put like a little dry ice and alcohol in here, do not cap this with dry ice and alcohol. I repeat, do not cap this because it could be explosive if you trap that kind of gas underneath. I did this type of stuff when I was like 16, trapping dry ice with warm water in a two liter bottle and dropping it at the bottom of a lake with a weight.

SpeakerAnd if you sit back and wait 45 minutes, Big explosions. Big explosions. You don't want to trap gas underneath things. So you leave this open. And this is a simple glass fold trap. Two parts.

SpeakerRight? One comes in. One comes out. It goes right inside here. And then this would go inside your doer. I call it a thermos just because it's easier for some people to look at it that way. So once you put your dry ice and alcohol in here, you want to make sure that you have like a slurry all around three quarters of this. And you have your intake.

SpeakerWhen you set this up, you put this system between your pump. So you have this hose would go in here. This hose would come from the chamber. And something else to keep... No, no, no.

MarkThose will be yours.

SpeakerOh, yeah, yeah. Sorry. Sorry. Hold on.

MarkAnd there's a reason why they have to be the other way.

SpeakerBoom squish. Boom squish. Yep. Yep. Sorry about that. I got sidetracked because I wanted to say that you want to get bigger hoses, too. A lot of people think that you want to have really small, tight hoses. That's why I said I grabbed some pieces from my car. But this is not the, I would rather prefer this to be a lot bigger. So it kind of works in opposite.

SpeakerMark wants to chime in on that.

MarkGo ahead. That's not vacuum tubing at all, is it?

SpeakerNo, it's not. That's why I said I wanted to do this again at another time where I could have a larger hose for vacuuming. But I was just trying to demonstrate the actual setup of the pieces. And so if you have a small little tiny hose, it's not going to work as well. You want to actually get your area to be a little bit bigger. And the concept is, let me show that to you.

SpeakerSo in concept, you're looking at it like this. This would be a lot bigger. Both of these would be a lot bigger. And this would sit in here.

SpeakerAnd then this, this has a pressure valve on it.

SpeakerAnd this is just an acrylic dish. You could get any kind of, you could make this yourself. It's just, all it is is a piece of acrylic with a neoprene-like underside. Like this. It has a pressure valve in it and a release valve. And you get just a glass dish. You could have stainless steel. I got one. I got one. It's like a little stainless steel. Another little valve.

SpeakerEssentially, what you could do, this is a really cool little... And this is for people at home, man, the people that don't have expensive gear. So you could get this stuff for like six, seven, eight, nine, probably about $1,100 with everything that you're looking at, maybe $1,200 max with shipping. But ideally, and this comes down to resin, so if you're washing your resin and you wanted to dry it out, And you didn't want to microplane it.

SpeakerYou wash it in the bags. You spoon it out. You could quickly sieve it if you wanted to right onto, like, say, parchment if you wanted and put it in here. Or you could even do patties inside the little vac chamber. You could literally stack your 73, your 90, your 120. You could stack them in here. Create the chamber, flip the switch, and you could actually run that, you know, it'd take probably overnight, but you can dry out all of your resin and all of your hash.

SpeakerSo the most important thing in everything that we always talk about on Hash Church is getting the water out of the hash, not trapping water in there. And the cold trap, the idea of that is you've got your vacuum chamber, your cold trap, and your vacuums. And you want to be able to pull the moisture out of the hash and not have it go into the pump.

SpeakerAnd so the cold trap between the vacuum chamber and the vacuum pump is designed to actually trap water molecules and freeze them inside that glass. And so that way it doesn't actually hit the pump. When you do that, if you do it slow, and you could do it cold, that's why I like acrylic, because you could also put this inside something. You can control the actual chamber itself, but if you do it low and slow, then you would be able to dry out all of your hash almost to a white powder, a very, very beautiful powder, and any of the water that was carrying any terpenes would actually be trapped in the cold trap, and you could separate those out because the water's going to freeze and the terpenes will be above it.

SpeakerYou're not going to get the full spectrum terpenes that you're seeing us with, but you would trap some terpenes and you would trap a certain type of terpene that's coming off of that particular hash. But it's a good way to really cure and dry out your hash if you were at home and it was hard for you to get a cold cure room and set everything up.

SpeakerFor about $1,200, you could set yourself up and not have to get a freeze dryer. So I would like to, next couple weeks, I'll hook it all up appropriately and show you how it actually works, and I'll show you before and after. Let's see.

SpeakerLet's see what Mark put up here.

MarkYeah, so one safety item, and that is if you're pulling a lot of water into a coal trap, it's going to, especially if you're using liquid nitrogen or

MarkOr even dry ice, dry ice acetone slush or dry ice isopropanol slush. That water is going to freeze and if you look at that cold finger, so the test tube thing that's inside the Dewar flask is called the cold finger. And the cold finger operates in that it draws the vacuum over the cold surface of the finger that's below the bath where then everything's going to condense out.

MarkThe thing is, Tony, is when you use a lot of, if there's a lot of water in your hash, you're going to freeze and make a plug of ice in that line. And that creates a potentially dangerous situation, especially if you're heating your Pyrex dish. So what happens is when you're pulling vacuum

MarkThe force of the vacuum from the pump is basically emptying the chamber that your hash is inside. And so what that does is it creates a negative pressure which then increases the vapor pressure of everything that's inside the hash to basically boil off because you're basically pulling a vacuum on the material. The cold trap acts as basically a sink for that material that you're pulling off. And again, it's really remarkable when I go and I look at these facilities in Denver And nobody is trapping anything.

MarkNo one's using cold traps. And what they're telling me, Tony, and this is just counterintuitive to me, is that this is what the Denver Fire Department says is okay and this is what they're regulating. What they don't realize is that that is not a safe situation at all to be sending flammable effluent into basically the hot motor of a pump, which is basically there's no trap. It's a completely closed system.

MarkUnless you have the cold trap that you're demonstrating here, that's actually a trap that you're going to use to transfer residual solvent from inside the back oven to this trap. So you're actually creating a thermodynamic sink for the effluent that you're pulling off. If you don't have a cold trap in your back oven system, It is basically an accident waiting to happen because all you're doing is pushing around that flammable gas all through the vac lines.

MarkIt's never going anywhere because you're never emptying it out. It has to go into a trap like that. The one thing I want to caution about water, if you get a plug of ice in there and now Think about it, Tony. You have like a vac oven. If you take that vac oven up a little bit, you are now heating a closed system. There's nothing that can give.

MarkThere's no clear line for the vacuum to pull because now you have in your cold finger line a thick plug of ice because ice freezes at, what, zero degrees. You know, dry ice and liquid nitrogen, that water is going to freeze immediately and make a thick plug of ice, and now you're heating a closed system, which if you have a small star crack somewhere or wherever that glassware can be compromised, that thing could essentially blow up and you could get an explosion, and that's not a good thing.

MarkSo I will just caution that if you think you're, if you're using this to dry water hash, And you know that your hash is really wet, like your patties are really goopy and really wet, do yourself a favor. Switch off that pump every now and then and get that water out of there. Don't let that water build up to a thick plug of ice because if you get a thick plug of ice in there, you're heating a closed system.

MarkThat thing could essentially blow.

SpeakerYeah, I agree. That's a really important note. The 25 screen that we're all using for, and thank you for that too, the 25 screen that we're all using to make, you know, press out rosin, the bubble man drying screen where that, the whole point of that is when you're, you know, you're folding it over, you're taking like, some people use bamboo paper towels or whatever, and you dry it out first, kind of like wringing it out.

SpeakerYou can leave that patty out. You can even throw that into a freezer first to try to get the moisture out of it a little bit first. Then if you put it in the chamber, you could break it apart a little bit into a crumble. Certainly, you don't want to... Take it right from the bag and as it's super droopy and wet, put that in that chamber.

MarkLet me offer a suggestion to what you're doing here. When you want to put these traps, you could actually use these traps in series and you could say put a trap ahead of this and inside that trap, Rather than having it, say, in a Dewar flask chilled to minus 78 degrees, you could basically fill that trap with a desiccant, something like Dryrite. Dryrite is just calcium chloride.

MarkIn Hydra's calcium chloride, I think it soaks up 10 waters. So it's, again, a salt that's used. It's the same kind of things that's in those desiccator packs and inside new shoes or inside new things that they want to keep dry. So what you can do is run it through a desiccator, like I guess what he's showing us here, which is actually called a gas delivery tube.

MarkBasically, now what you're doing is you're scrubbing out the water before it hits the cold trap. You could put a couple of these traps in sequence, and you could basically get all the water out by absorbing the water to a desiccant like calcium chloride. In fact, DryRite makes a desiccant that has an indicator in it. It starts off as a blue and white, looks like little blue and white petals.

MarkAnd when they've absorbed all the water, the blue turns to like a magenta pink. So you know that that has been spent and that now needs to be baked to remove the water off. But yeah, I would use, if you think that you're actually going to be pulling a lot of water off, you might as well just load a couple of those traps with desiccant, pull it through there, and that'll just absorb all the water.

SpeakerYep. Yeah, that's another great point. I usually put the two together. So that's why I wanted to get it all set up the right way. But fundamentally speaking, that was the confusion, I think, where people thought that, oh, Tony's trapping terpenes in a coal trap. I'm like, no, we're talking about trapping water. We're talking about drying hash. Really has nothing to do with it. It would take you quite a long time.

SpeakerI know Horatio is kind of laughing where he's like, yeah, I definitely don't cold trap to trap terpenes. It would take quite a bit of material to try to do it. Somebody asked me if I tried doing that with flowers before, and I haven't tried it with flowers to do this particular method, but I just don't see it really even... I don't know. I don't know what your guys' thoughts are.

SpeakerI don't really see it being an effective way of separating. I mean, I'm sure you could possibly do it, but I think you'd pull out a lot more things with it, too.

SpeakerThat is a good question about those other things, because, I mean, I guess you'd have more experience, because it would be more familiarity with what happens in bubble hash water. That really would tell you about what would come with that method, so... I don't know, like, I look at those anecdotes. I don't drink enough or even look at enough bubble hash water to go, when is it chlorophyll-y?

SpeakerWhat does it taste like when it goes brown? What does it taste like when it's creamy? So, like, Jeff, you've seen enough bubble hash in your experience that if you were looking at that water time after time ago, what if I extracted it or tried to fraction it into segments? What would I get? Like, when would it just be, like, Bilge, and when could like, is that, you know that time when the bubble hash water is like reeking with turps?

SpeakerIt really is strain specific. Like is that more gonna need, would it be strain specific to strains that would, I don't know, I guess steam distill better? Would that be like a comparable analogy to think about what's happening? It wouldn't really, it wouldn't really go the same way. I don't know, I, what do you think, Jeff?

SpeakerYou're still muted for some reason.

SpeakerUh-oh. Technical difficulties.

BubblemanWe cannot hear you, Jeff. Let me try to unmute you. There we go. Let's try that. No. That's weird. That's the bug. You got the bug, bro. You got the hash church bug.

SpeakerI've got a question just to go back to the dry right because I remember in the old days of build your own vacuum chamber because you didn't want to spend the money to even get a Pyrex dish and a lid. You had to make the lid yourself and drill it. I know that dry right used under the product in on like with a screen. But I found that if any type of like using it in line, when you release the gas pressure, I found the dry right odor could go back into the original product and I stopped using it.

SpeakerI didn't like the dust it gave off. I have it right here, and I'm like, I don't like this. I feel like I can taste it in the air when I open the chamber.

MarkPut a plug of glass wool over the top of that, so the glass wool or the cotton will trap any dust from that.

SpeakerOkay, so I was right to feel that something was potential.

MarkI was like, this fucking, Yeah, it's calcium chloride, and it could be pulverized into fines, and it's the fines that's going to create the mist and the dust. So yeah, what I would do is like if you're using the gas delivery bottle that Tony had and the dip tube goes below, you want to make sure that the dip tube goes below into the dry right and then you have basically just a plug of glass wool so that any air that comes through there gets caught up in the glass wool so no dust comes into your lines.

SpeakerI needed that tech three years ago.

MarkGlass wool, man, works great. Stay away from cotton. Cotton tends to swell with some solvents, but glass wool is pretty inert, and that's a good one.

BubblemanThat's for sure.

MarkBut make sure you handle it with gloves, because like fiberglass, it will leave little fibers and cut your fingers, and you'll be picking it out of your fingers for weeks, so... Wear gloves when handling glass wool.

SpeakerYeah, I also like the, you know, when you want to cut something off, you know, you have little, you can build these little things. You can cut that off from your chamber, too. Little valves, little valves. Be a little valve before you shut that off. That would help too. Yeah, so that environmental air goes past your oil and pushes the dry right dust towards your pump rather than, yeah, if I had my manifold basically in the other direction, air would suck the dry right towards the product.

SpeakerSo definitely.

MarkYeah, I use dry right just as an indicator because it's got the little blue indicator that turns pink. But what I would do is I would put just a layer of dry right on the bottom, and then I would put like about four inches of molecular sieves, either three or four sieves over the top of that. So everything that's coming in contact is basically coming in contact with the sieves, which is a much more powerful desiccating agent than the calcium chloride.

MarkBut the calcium chloride is in there just as an indicator to let you know that your sieves are spent.

SpeakerOne last trick. You know you can put the dry right back in the main chamber and remove the water and get your dry right back.

MarkOh yeah, man. But you usually need a really high-powered oven. We would bring We would bring dishes of dry right down to the glass blower's oven because after the glass blower would make a piece of scientific apparatus, they would actually put it in this huge oven and fire it at several thousand degrees. We would basically bring him a tray of dry right. He would basically reactivate the dry right in the oven.

MarkSame thing with sieves. You can reactivate sieves.

SpeakerYou ever done, what is it, anhydrous magnesium sulfate in the toaster? Like I started going crazy with stealing my wife's Epsom salt and toasting it. And she's like, what's that in the toaster? That whole plate full of white rocks just crackling up. And I'm like, oh, I got to remove the water. I need a desiccant, but I hate this dry right stuff and I need more.

MarkYeah, the problem with Epsom salt as a drying agent, I'll caution you this because I had to learn the hard way. We're going to talk a little bit about magnesium. Magnesium loves to coordinate to esters. There are certain esters that make very, very nice complexes with magnesium, and it now solubilizes the esters. If you're using magnesium sulfate as a drying agent, you want to make sure that you're not trying to isolate an ester because it might bind to your drying agent, just like the water.

SpeakerTalk about hard lessons. Don't even bother thinking you're going to use it to dry your ethanol either because you're only going to pick up the water and make a decanting mess that has to be now very carefully distilled. But if you're doing it in line for gas, then it has some function as a cheap bed material. Can you guys hear me now?

SpeakerCan you guys hear me now?

BrandonWe can hear you now.

SpeakerAwesome. So I wanted to add one thing to Tony's little thing he's got going on there with the Pope Dewar and all that. If you freeze your material that you're going to dry, You actually make it more like a freeze jar. So when you freeze water, it expands and it actually pushes the hashish apart a little bit and makes the water more accessible. And so if you put it into the freezer and then put it into that back drying contraption, it's going to be awesome.

SpeakerYou know, I tried back drying. I don't do fresh frozen ever. I'm really a dry trim kind of guy, so I don't really see the necessity of it. Although, you know, I'm starting to think Thank you for joining us.

SpeakerYeah, thanks for showing everybody this, Tony. And Horatio and Tony, you guys just told everybody about The Clear, man. That's awesome. So the world's going to be wiping film here soon. Well, I mean, I don't know what he does, but what I saw was, actually it's on my Instagram, I've seen like four new companies coming out. All over Instagram. And the reason why I just brought it up is because a lot of people thought, and there's another company out there that is using this connoisseur concentrate.

SpeakerCougar. Right? He's got some kind of hydrocarbon recapture thing that he's trying to do with terpenes from... Have you seen that yet, Mark? I don't know if it's on Facebook.

MarkIt's called the Kugelrohr. It's a distillation apparatus that basically rotates a flask that's inside a heated glass oven. It's a short path distillation because the distance in between where it's hot and where it's Condensing is a very, very short distance. So by definition, it's a short path distillation, but it's not short path distillation. I don't want to confuse people. It's a co-roar distillation, which is more of what's called a thin film type distillation because as the flask rotates inside the glass oven, it creates a very, very thin film, and that thin film then is what's evaporating and then condensing over in the condensate.

MarkIt's a little bit difficult to imagine that that can actually be used in a production kind of way because it's not the most amenable to production. Just simple short path distillation, which is what Mishulam used when he first isolated THC, is probably the best, simplest way to make it.

SpeakerYeah, I've actually heard tell of a dozen Kugelrohrs sitting in a row to actually make production feasible. And, you know, at some point you need to realize that your production necessity is another apparatus. Rather than buying the same apparatus many times over, you need to go with something that's going to be a lot more efficient.

MarkAnd what really hampers the productivity of production is the viscosity of the product. You know, the clear is so viscous and so difficult to deal with that I think a real good enhancement to a short path distillation would be to Take your receiver flasks and basically have a scientific glass blower. Don't go to some pipe maker. Go to a scientific glass blower. Have them whack off the bottom of that flask and to put a little stopcock on the bottom of that flask so as you're distilling, you could kind of like attenuate the vacuum and do a quick dump.

MarkThank you. Thank you. Thank you.

SpeakerWhere the extract is sitting in the apparatus. So that's the one main disadvantage. You know, degradation can definitely happen in those sorts of apparatus where these other apparatus that a lot of the guys are using for large scale production, it's less than two minutes that your product is actually in there and then you have your distillate and your waste. So. Yeah, I saw a company and I thought, I was trying to look for them.

SpeakerThere's three companies out there that have some really sophisticated, I guess it would be a way that they're cleaning hydrocarbon to THC. I guess there's some, one's called the Raw and a couple other things, but I saw wipers and I saw some other equipment in their little videos that they were doing. And it's just crazy how much people spend to basically get to pure resin when it's like right there in front of you on the plant.

SpeakerYou're not talking about that unit that's 500K and 50K to learn how to use. Yeah, 100K and then another 50K to learn how to use it. That's a good one.

SpeakerI'll do it for $30,000.

SpeakerI'll do it for free. I mean, we just, all you got to do is get a rosin press and some screens and get your resin or run some bubble or do some dry sifts. I mean, you can do it with, that's what I, it boggles me and this, you know, And Bubble Man and I talk about it all the time. It's like, why are people spending so much money?

SpeakerI mean, I understand production, okay, but we're talking about people at home and things like that. And then production level, if somebody's got, you know, hundreds of pounds and they want to do some critical CO2 and there's, you know, tons of bad BHO on the market that somebody has to clean up, you know, for these, for consumers. And, but like, how did we get there? Like, how did we go from, You know, unadulterated resin, washing resin, drying it out properly.

SpeakerNow there's rosin, and if you look on Instagram, you can see all the, you know, the hundreds of different, you know, there's 400 flower rosin entries, or 400 flower entries, I think, or 500 entries in the Emerald Cup, all sun-grown. And then the rosin, and I'm watching all the judges post about it. I mean, look at that rosin. You know, look at that flower and that hash rosin.

SpeakerIt is clear. It is sappy. It is loud. It is filtered. I mean, it's come a long fucking way, man, in one year. You know, what do you think's next? It's like, because I use that in prana. Like, all of my medicine is rosin-based or flower-based or, you know, strain-specific, and I just don't... I don't know, I just feel like, what do you think the next move is?

SpeakerI've seen five companies recently post with different types of scientific gear, large equipments, wipers, all kinds of different things. That's what you think the next thing is? You were showing something. Yeah, just the super terpy rosin that's so terpy that you can't put it onto a parchment. It's got to go in a syringe or it's got to go into something else. Otherwise, you're just going to lose it all over everything.

SpeakerThat's where it's at.

MarkHow's it made?

SpeakerHeat and pressure, my good friend. That's it, man, you know. It's, you know, it's just the tricks of how to collect it. That's really, really what it is. It's all about starting material, you know. If you're going to have lots of turps in your starting material, you're going to have lots of turps in your final bras, and as long as you don't beat them up out of it.

MarkWhat is it analyzed for?

SpeakerThis one was 17.5% terpenes, and it was 30-something percent CBD and 25 THC. Wow. Because the harlequin was the starting material on this one. So that can go right into a pen. Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but I'd rather dab it than put it through a wick system.

MarkBut it's viscosity would allow it to be wicked is what you're saying.

SpeakerYeah, most likely. I think there's always going to be some constituents that aren't going to want to go through it when you have this raw type of a product that you haven't removed the lipids from.

SpeakerBut like I said, I just didn't really want to do it because I felt that it was a much better use to just dab the product.

BubblemanOh, I'm on meat. Dabbing the product sounds about right. I've been hitting flower rosin. I've been hitting a little of Horatio's Distillate. I've been hitting some Foamelt Bubble Lubble. And now I think it's time for a Terp Rip. So let's grab the Golden Goat.

BubblemanLet us grab the Master Scout.

SpeakerDing.

BubblemanAnd let us dip. Into the holy terpenes.

BubblemanChing.

BubblemanYou know what I do now, Tony? I make sure that I never turn the dabber upside down so the terps can drip down onto it. I find you have to keep it really like this. You don't want to be lifting that dabber up at the wrong angle and losing those terps, so... To the Terp Gods and Goddesses.

SpeakerYeah, I'm trying to find that company. I thought it was in Seattle. And they show a video of this machine. Looking for it now. I thought it was in your area, Jeff. Trying to think. It was really, it looked actually pretty cool. Because I've seen a lot of different setups. But this was a... They had all kinds of shit hooked up to this thing. They looked like they were on to something.

SpeakerNo, Tony, because I saw one that made me feel like shit. And I was like, oh my God, now that's a lot of production. Like, oh good God. And then I was like, wait a minute, this thing takes four days to clean, doesn't it? And that's where the fuck up is going to be. The guy buys it, he goes to fucking print, and he has no strategy on breakdown and cleanup.

SpeakerI find that similar to, well, I guess this would be a larger extent, CO2 machines. There's no, it was designed to extract, but it wasn't user friendly to make you want to bust it down and get scrubby. So I looked at those devices and I'm like, God damn it, what does it take? Am I going to have to set the whole thing on fire? Is that the only way to clean it?

SpeakerNo, you know, Horatio, I mean, the same thing with CO2, you just run ethanol through it. And the thing's clean. You know, it's all about just washing your equipment. I mean, you know, you're using a co-solvent when you're doing CO2 to clean a machine, and this, you can literally just dump the ethanol into it and run the ethanol through the machine and it'll clean it out. Now, if you've got some really nasty stuff, like stuff that has not been cleaned up enough before it was put into there, you know, then you might Gunk up your machine and you might have four days worth of cleaning like you're saying, Horatio.

SpeakerBut yeah, generally speaking, it should just clean right out. Well, I just, I know I've seen runs that have a contaminant that's trapped in a lipid with the same boiling point as THC, so it's not your standard plant lipids. It's something that fucked up. It's where basically the process transmutes the same grower fuck-ups that made you not sell the oil in the first place. The types of contaminants that have matching boiling points are completely unknown when it may be Eagle 20 or microbutanol, all of these little things.

SpeakerThat's kind of why... I don't like the fact people grab for a trademarked term like the clear, but have no idea the standards the person might have had before creating it. They just literally look for a visual recognition of a result that must mean they're into science bitch now. And it's the furthest from the truth. Yeah, now the reason why this came up on some other things was another company we were talking to about actually processing Large volume of hemp.

SpeakerAnd so I found the company I was talking about and it's, like I said, I don't know what the, I don't know what the clear does, but he's, I mean, there's multiple, everybody's got multiple steps of all kinds of shit that they do. So just using one piece of gear isn't shit, you know. I know when I saw, when I worked with him or saw him, he had all kinds of shit.

SpeakerSo this is a standard, you know, the wiper thing is a standard thing in the industry, oil industry, all kinds of stuff. But the company that I saw was Helder Pad. That is, this company is doing crazy shit. And if you look it on Instagram, it's hemp processing technologies, molecular separation. You should probably look at it, Mark. It's really interesting. It's interesting what they're doing. And I'm not... You should look at it.

SpeakerIt's a whole system. And they do... They have a cold finger, and then they have a wiper, and then they've got short path distillation, and they've got like... They've got a lot of shit hooked up to this thing. And I kept seeing their post about it, and people thought I was doing some kind of terpene extraction with that, but... And so somebody was like sending me different types of links on equipment.

SpeakerAnd it's super sophisticated. It's not, I don't know, I think you would find it extremely fascinating though. So we should have just answered yes.

MarkI had asked if that was on the phone.

SpeakerIt's a 1950s computer, and at the end it's going to print out a little square that says how much Terps I have, and then a flash will pump out of a tray like a hospital coffee machine.

MarkJust answer yes.

SpeakerI mean, I've told people before, they act like it's a secret, and I said, you know, I started off in 2010 working with a scientist on perfumes that we released, and And we worked with the School of Mines, and we tried to do steam distillation and different things. And, you know, it's utilizing that type of concept, which pretty much anything on the market, if you look at vac steam distillations and different types of things, they all, there's all kinds of equipment out there.

SpeakerBut there's little, there's things that needed to be tweaked and get to, and if we try to upscale, Which is totally different. Like if you're at home and you have one single model and it works well, and you try to upscale, sometimes you fail. And I failed many times before, even this year. And it wasn't until recently where you get one of those, I hit my head on the toilet, the flux capacitor gets drew out, and all of a sudden you're like, oh, okay, okay, I need to change this, this, and change the order around.

SpeakerAnd next thing you know, You're on to the right path. But this type of equipment, you know, for cleaning, purifying, getting down to that, my point was like, why? Why are we there when, I guess if you're trying to separate pure forms, huh? You're really trying to separate the purest form of that.

SpeakerI've always been strain specific, whole, full spectrum to things. I've just never really wanted, never had the desire to separate it. Ralph and Mishula did it a long time ago. Everybody's done it. It's kind of like, you know, I mean it's, I guess it's good if you're looking at trying to make it down to the exact milligram, but if I have to go through chemicals and solvents to do that, I would prefer not to, you know.

SpeakerWhat do you think about the mixture that you guys did? What was it with Gold Drop? You did a distillate with your Turk Mix. How did you like that, Tony? It's really good. Again, I don't know what he does. He's kind of explained a little bit what he was doing with it. I just know the filtration process and what micron he gets down to. You know, one micron or under.

SpeakerAs it is, I've tried it by itself. It doesn't really have any smell or flavor, but then when we added the terpenes to it, it's really good. The pens themselves, like the Irene OG, like if you're using the terpenes that I'm creating as a dilutant to cut your flour rosin or your hash rosin or your raw or your CO2, They seem to do really, really, really well.

SpeakerIt tastes like you're tasting a plant. And I think there's a market for both. I secretly have two pens. I have one from the clear. I have one from the gold. Both of them that are using different types of natural fruit, terpenes and things like that. It tastes, honestly, if I was a social recreational user and a pen, I could tell you that, you know, the majority of people that aren't really into cannabis, they really like those pens.

SpeakerThey really like the taste. Like if you have a girlfriend and like, oh, yeah, I kind of like to smoke, and you give them one of those pens, they're like, oh, this tastes really good. As soon as you give them a pen that tastes like cannabis, they're like, oh, yeah, that's unusual. But for people that like the taste of cannabis and want to relate to that, I think that people are interested to gravitate more to it.

SpeakerAnd then there's the modulation effect. So if you're able to get strain-specific terpenes from flowers that not just taste like it, but they also provide the boost or that modulation effect in it, then it's kind of like, you know, it's kind of like, okay, Mark will like this one. We could play acoustic guitar, but sometimes it's really cool to pull out the Paul Reed Smith, hook up a tube amp, get some gain going, get some distortion going, and really like rock out.

SpeakerAnd so that's what I see like the cannabis terpenes versus say other fruit terpenes are able to really amplify the experience more like cannabis. But I think there's a place for both of it. I think as long as your medicine's clean and you can get it to a solvent-free state, then you're doing something right. And there's a lot of people. I mean, we've had five years of shitty hash making from BHO.

SpeakerSo my hats are off to the people out there that are cleaning it up and getting it to a solvent-free state. Way better. I mean, think about it. You've got pounds and pounds of contaminated BHO on the market. And if you don't like contaminated chemicals, then you should probably think about supporting those individuals that are out there cleaning it up. And, you know, I think that, like I said, my hats are off to Chris, you know, with the clear.

SpeakerHe's fucking doing amazing things. He's making pure CBD. He's cleaning up the world. And the people in Washington and the people in Oregon are doing it too. And I think there's a marketplace for it. And if you ignore it and say, oh, there's no marketplace for it, you're just not, you're not, you don't understand our industry. So I'm not. What does a marketplace for me mean? I mean, I see so many people, I've got to clear, now I can jump in every marketplace that is pretty much ignorant.

SpeakerI'm like, wait a minute, doesn't that girl at the party deserve a chance to realize her fucking anxiety about and the way she behaves, that modulation from a cannabis-only natural profile, whether she likes the taste or not, might make her actually chill out versus get Like the word like makes it seem like well look we've got a lot of drugs that act like cannabis but they don't seem to work like cannabis.

SpeakerI know obviously I know a lot about pens and I know a lot about terps and I could exploit that and solve all my problems in life but there seems to be some reason why I don't want to. So a market for something, I mean, there's a market for selling human bodies for sex. And then you can justify it by saying there's been a market for that forever, but it doesn't change the human intent behind the product and the fact that no matter which way we'll be lifetime smokers of cannabis, a lot of people are only going to get one go.

SpeakerAnd I don't want it to be on some guy's hope of getting a market by going hard on the strawberry turkey. Yeah, no, I understand that. But Canada and the U.S. is a little different in the fact that, you know, concentrates and extracts has been difficult in Canada. But we've had a really big boom of a lot of people. Like, you've got to imagine, this shit started in 2000, even earlier, I think Bubble Man was saying with another guy.

SpeakerBut imagine people were starting with PVC pipes and glass tubes. And hydrocarbon is a good extraction. I mean... It pulls quite a bit out of the plant. There's a lot of nuances and things that can be detrimental to the process. As we've discussed this in hashtags extensively with mystery oil and all kinds of shit. I think that what that does is if you're going the solvent route and you're going to start with a hydrocarbon or a PHO like a propane, one less hydrocarbon, if you're starting with a solvent And I know Mark's had a lot of experience in the chemical industry and things like that.

SpeakerIf you're starting with a solvent, then wouldn't you want to complete the process? So there's machines out there that are your extractor, and then there's machines and steps along the way that people have created to clean it, filter it, present it in a solvent-free matter. And if you ignore that there's like kilos and kilos and kilos of bad BHO on the market, the choice is that's going to get to consumers one way or another.

SpeakerAnd so as we're regulating and getting more, the volume of stuff that's out there is, it has to, you know, it has to be cleaned up. So what I was saying to you earlier is where do you guys think in a year from now since our industry progresses so hardcore, I see a lot of other companies, you know, like this Helder, Pad, There's another company in Canada that follows me on Instagram.

SpeakerI see him doing a lot of distillates. And distillate, when people talk about that, that's also a form of steam distillation on oils. And you've been refining a solvent. Your solvent is limonene. So just like you showed the world, if you just take limonene and try to make an extract, well, look at all the shit that was in there. And you like did this video and you're like, oh, look, I cleaned it up before I used it.

SpeakerSo I think there's really two paths here. What do you think is going to happen in a year? Solvent processing versus solventless because the solventless processing was well, well below the amount of production and volume a year ago. Let's say two years ago it was maybe nonexistent. There was some full melt on the market, barely any dry sift. There was, Not a lot of flower rosin, not a lot of hash rosin, and all of a sudden we've had a year.

SpeakerI'm just reflecting back on 2015 and asking you guys, where do you think it's going in 2016? Both markets are strong now. I think there might be a little bit of a crash as mandated testing of new paranoia subjects keep jumping up. As soon as What if we add microbutanol testing along with microbial testing? Like, they start going for the key toxic ingredients with pesticides. That's something extract artists really, some may have intuition, some may even see patterns, but everybody's just trying to do a good job.

SpeakerAnd somebody who's producing rosin is going to be the furthest from any form of, you could say, you want to call it chemical experience with Oh shit, that streak means something is bad. If I keep purging, that streak's going to go away and basically re-dissolve into the mass. As time goes on, like, if I look at Canada, I'm like, what are they going to allow us to sell?

SpeakerThey're pretty hard on LPs, even if they gave us rules. I'm like, are people going to, is the local grower going to have to irradiate his shit? Because he can't produce consistently without something like that. I kind of think when I hear things like the potential for You cleaning your tumbler with ISO to make the keef that you make your rosin with and then the ISO carries over?

SpeakerOr like how you clean your screens? I think those are going to be the new unforeseen errors. You're like, why would the guy fucking try to spray his fucking drawing screens with butane to clean it? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. Now there's BHO in the goddamn rosin. Like those type of things are going to crop up. Thank you for watching.

SpeakerDo I have to brand LHO to make it be what the people I interact with know? Because some guy in California is just going to, hey, I made an LHO. I'm on a ratio. I'm helping people. It just seems like that seedy scam nature is now going to just get more funding. More and more funding to prey not on us. We know it's bullshit, but to prey on the new cannabis people that really need to experience what we know, but are really just going to get a bullshit version of cannabis as their experience.

SpeakerWhat do you think, Jeff? You're in the industry here. Yeah, I mean, you know, I think 2016 is definitely going to bring a lot better testing. That's what I'm hopeful for, at least. Washington State, for better or worse, has been making all kinds of administrative rules for medical cannabis and recreational cannabis. And they just started having mycotoxins be required for testing, which is like, you know, that's going to beat the guy that's trying to beat the system by irradiating the whole crop.

SpeakerYou know, I mean, in Canada or wherever, you know, these different places, they're starting to require that sort of a thing for it to be able to actually get out there to the market. But the reality is you irradiate it, sure, it's going to pass a microbial test, no problem. But those microbes still lived there and they still, their bodies are still there and the mycotoxins that they produce are still there.

SpeakerAnd so I think that we're going to see A big shift in the industry, at least in Washington State, if they accept those testing standards for recreational as well, which they say they're going to. Right now, it's going to start off that you can carry a medical grade labeling. Basically, you say it's compliant with this certain chapter. That's how you're able to, after July 1st, be labeling it medical, kind of.

SpeakerBut they have to go through all these bigger tests. So I think we're really going to move away from maybe as much microbial testing and more into the toxins that are left behind by the microbes being tested for, as well as pesticides. That's my hopes and dreams and thoughts on what's going to happen in Washington State for the next year here. Jeff, do you think the little guy will actually get a boost?

SpeakerLike, there are people who stick to their methods, but because they kind of follow that road of, I don't use this, I don't use that, but I can't scale up. And it's greedy to scale up, so I won't scale up because I'm dedicated to medicine. I'm like, that's the guy, he's finally going to get his price because it'll be the only thing left on the shelf. Thank you for watching.

SpeakerCan actually get what he deserves, which is an income that can give him abundance without having to produce in that commercial dog way. You know, honestly, I unfortunately see that that 10 light guy, in my state, that 10 light guy has been mandated out of existence by regulation. Now that 10 light guy can only be a black market dealer who's selling untaxed, unregulated cannabis. And so unfortunately I think that it's the big guys that are going to be producing more and more cannabis in Washington State.

SpeakerI think that it's good though when you look at what my hopes and dreams are, right? You know, I hope that we're going to have this testing that's going to keep these big guys in line. Because, you know, we deserve to know what's put on our cannabis. We deserve to know if they're spraying any chemical on our cannabis. And we also deserve to know if they have Mycotoxins in that cannabis that are dangerous to you, you know, in levels that can be dangerous to you, and that they just beat the system by, you know, irradiating it or using UV light or whatever their method happened to be.

SpeakerSo I think that that's, you know, that's what I'm hopeful for. I think in other states, you know, maybe... I don't know, I just see adoption of regulation really takes all of the little guys out of business and says you have to actually jump into a larger business or go away. So that's what I see for better or worse also happening more and more in 2016.

SpeakerYou can totally see that aspect of, I mean, we had that in Canada, but it was like, get millions of dollars or go away. And we also don't like you, so half of you with those millions of dollars, we plan on watching you burn it as we don't show up. But, like, I look at the warehouse grow as the standard, you know, commercial illegal grow of, you know, all regions and districts, but all of a sudden in Washington they could go legal.

SpeakerLike, they're big, but they're not big. They're only big to a home grower. But I'm like, well, this is, you know, it's reasonable, but illegal grows like this have been going forever in the multi-warehouse. So when, I guess it's like when someone has spent the money on that warehouse to work correctly without chemicals, and... I always see people basically fuck the system, make so much money that when they get caught they can pay their way out.

SpeakerAnd the little guy never fucked the system and that's why he never had enough money to buy his way in. And I'm always hoping that regulations at least allow the small company to then shoot their way up and be able to at least employ the good people who want a good work environment to work in if they can't own their own business.

SpeakerYou're up, Bubble Man. What are you hoping for in 2006?

BubblemanI mean, I always hope for more melt and more full melt dry sift, like more 99% heads, you know. A lot of people call the dry sift. Someone was just saying, you know, oh, the dry sift is king. I smoked it way before when everyone else thought bubble hash was king. And I said, well, bubble hash is king, you know, on point with the nicest dry sift, the nicest version of water hash I've ever smoked.

BubblemanWas definitely on point and up there with the nicest dry sift I ever smoked. Now those are variables that need to line up for those two things to be both like that. And is 99% dry sift a little bit more elusive? It definitely was before people learned that DVD static parchment trick. That's for damn sure. It took a really seriously committed person to produce a full melt dry sift 99% heads just with the carding technique.

BubblemanWhich if D420K was in the room he could attest because it took him months to get that carding down. He just couldn't quite understand the pressure and how hard and how much and the temperatures and the variables and how important it was to dry the material. All these little things. I'm hoping to see more 99.999% decontaminated gland heads. I love the fact that they're intact now. I love the fact that it's sort of like you could just look with a microscope and see what you're getting with your naked eye.

BubblemanThere's some simplicity in that relationship of just being able to look at it and know rather than look at like a blob of oil or whatever and say, oh, it's this, this, this, and this, there's this sort of like It's almost like a comforting thing, like the same way you guys probably get when it spits out on the gas chromatograph that it's clear of any mystery oil or that it's clear of any particular contaminant that maybe a solvent was used to do a wash or whatnot.

BubblemanI just don't have to worry about those things as much when I can just look under a microscope and see just heads. And when it makes me feel good, like if there was even mold present, because I've seen it, In Jamaica, I saw, I have a beautiful macro photograph, and right above it, there was a red, a little stigma hair, a little pistolet hair, and it was, it was molding.

BubblemanAnd the mold, it was very deceiving at first, because you couldn't quite tell it was mold. It didn't look like what you would think mold looks like under a microscope. This stuff looks kind of like stretched out gland heads, really stretched out, thin, thin, like Silvery. They look just like a glandular product. And at first, even to my own trained macro eye, I didn't recognize it. But something about the photo didn't sit well with me.

BubblemanAnd when I finally clued into what it was, it was that visual aspect of that contaminant that didn't belong, that wasn't supposed to be there. And the way it made me feel was like, oof, I'm definitely not smoking that.

SpeakerDude, when you saw it, because I've seen that, in fact, fuck, I held it and I put it, I swear it's Bud Rot versus PM. I got to Bud, it was just millions of legs and I'm like, I thought this thing was loaded with trichomes, but where the fuck are they? And how come everything is heading in one direction?

BubblemanPM specifically is much like the way an ant or an insect is made up of the parts in its bodies. Powdery mildew is the same way. It'll grow a little piece, and then there's almost a separation where it grows another piece, and then another piece. And they're very worm-like, and they do stand tall. These ones were completely different. These ones looked like the very fine... Fine parts of a cannabis root.

BubblemanYou know what I mean? Almost like that real weird, almost like what electricity would look like if you could photograph it still. But they were wrapped around a rotting stigma hair. The hair had a color that was definitely not a color I would say is like a positive fall color, but it's like it has now gone into the death cycle. And it's molding. A lot of mold in the Jamaican herb.

BubblemanIt was one of the things I just felt like the most important thing to teach all around the world for that matter because I've smelt this ammonia musky smell on cannabis in Thailand and in Central America and in Jamaica and all over the world, even in India. And basically it's cannabis in a humid environment getting put into plastic and And it, I mean, I don't even know how fast it happens, but I suspect it happens really fast.

BubblemanEspecially in a place like Jamaica.

SpeakerWell, I think that, I think in the last four years, I think what, in my opinion, what's happening, especially 2016, what's going to come up, is a lot of people are That do extracts, in my mind, seem to forget and seem to not give credit. Not saying everybody, but there's a lot of people out there that don't give credit to the grower. And I think what this has done, when you're a grower and you're looking at what people are doing with your resin, and now what they're seeing is, okay, we have a solventless path and a solvent path.

SpeakerAnd there's these products that are being made. And then if you're a really good grower, you kind of say to yourself, what do I want my resin to go into? And so what I think it's doing is, I think 2016 is doing two things. It's going to, this regulation and everything we've seen, it's going to step up the grower's game to new levels and standards, especially when you see what's going on with the amazing stuff that's happening with Sun Resin.

SpeakerAnd Sun Grown, especially I think the Emerald Cup's going to be huge. It's next weekend. And just seeing how much goes into it. And the guys are out here. They're on their game, man. I keep talking about Sun Grown Resin and what it does for terpenes, bigger yields, what it does for flower rosin, bigger yields. I think what we're going to see in 2016 is a synergistic relationship between what's going in the plant, what it's producing, how it's produced, the standards of the actual flower itself.

SpeakerThe growers are going to start stepping up saying, okay, I've got clean, green, organic, My buddies over at Vital Supplies got tea brews and I'm watching different crops come down and they're fucking awesome. And I think the growers are going to start lifting their game up and you're going to see a synergistic relationship between growers and brands. And that's what I think 2016 is going to be about.

SpeakerIt's going to be about brands. And when you think of, we've mentioned a couple brands in here, we don't normally do it, but You know, Jeff's got a brand. I've got a brand. You've got a brand. Horatio's got a brand. Chris has got a brand. I'm not sure if Mark Scaldone has a brand, but if he doesn't, he probably will in 2016.

SpeakerNot yet, right? So everyone seems to be having a brand, and what a brand means is it's integrity. It's when somebody says, hey, this is the clear, or this is gold drop, or this is think, or this is Horatio's, or this is Tony's Terps, The brand is what people can relate to as something that they think of as clean and good. And there's supposed to be integrity to that.

SpeakerAnd everyone that we mentioned in this room has the highest standards of integrity. And I think that's what you're going to see in 2016 as the co-brand. You're going to see the grower and the brand. Boom. Come together and it's going to create that next level of unity and it's going to get better and better. And every year we say to ourselves, oh could it get really any better?

SpeakerI had this weird like dream that like everything was going to be like of like clear color. Like the flower rosin, the hash rosin, everything is like pristine clean. And very off wonderful colors like peach and pinks and different things. It was a weird dream. I don't know what year it was in, but it was like I was in the dream and I had some rosin like this and everybody was snobbing me out.

SpeakerThey were just like, oh yeah, that's so old school. Where were you? Where did you come from? And I was like, I don't know. I just woke up and I'm in this land where everybody has serious fire. And, you know, like the resin heads, yeah, exactly, the resin. And then I think like you'll see new things like when Bowman's talking about the sift, imagine when we start really breeding for sift, you know, like all of a sudden.

SpeakerAnd I've seen like different sift, and sometimes you can see the heads with your naked eye, and sometimes they're really small and you need to see it under a scope. But like head size is a big thing. You know, and when I, I remember seeing that, that skunk that in Amsterdam, that sweet skunk that you had, it looked like little micro BBs. There was like, you could see it.

SpeakerYou could actually see the little tiny BBs. And I think when the SIFT, We're going to have a lot of fun. We're going to have a lot of fun. We're going to have a lot of fun.

SpeakerAnd that's important to know because when you look at the Emerald Cup, this is my first year going to it and being involved with it and things like that. It's really neat because they've separated those categories. Hightime still hasn't done that.

SpeakerSo Hightime still hasn't done that. We're still judging rosin, full melt, and dry sift in one category. And I think that needs to change in 2016 because we've advanced in the solventless category and there's more things there. And then there needs to be the complex category, which I always seem to fall into. I'm like, hey, let's take these terpenes and this terpene and put them together with this particular sift rosin or this particular thing, and you get these complex concentrates.

SpeakerThat may be used too. I've seen, and that's why I kind of lean towards just the terpenes to see what people will do. I'm watching people take the terpenes into their own world and like, oh, I'm only going to use it in raw. I'm only going to use it in lye resin. And then some people are like, I'm only going to use it in sift, and I'm only going to use it in full melt or a rosin or a flower rosin.

SpeakerAnd then people ask, well, why would you want to do that? It's creativity, man. It's like that's what's beautiful about this resin and the plant is it's limitless. Combinations of flavors, experiences, and everyone has different personal types of things that they're after. And this is the very beginning stage of when we walk into a place to do a wine tasting. And you go in there, and you're like, okay, I'm going to go into a vineyard in Sonoma.

SpeakerThey've got this huge vineyard. They've got this huge bar of every kind of possible wine. Thank you so much for joining us.

SpeakerAll over the place. And I think we're going to get categories defined as well. And that's what it needs.

BubblemanWell, it's exciting times, no doubt about that. Did you hear that Horatio announced earlier that Hash Church won an award yesterday at the Cann Awards?

SpeakerCann Awards? No, what did it win?

BubblemanLike a sledgehammer?

SpeakerMost innovative service in Canada.

SpeakerIt's true. It's true. It was launched from Canada. Wow. Yeah. That's pretty big. That is pretty big. I would say that I probably get recognized more from Hash Church than anything else in my life. So it's actually mind-boggling because, again, I always forget that we record these things and they're live. Three people hit me up. They're like, how do I watch Hash Church? And this cat with the lemon tree...

SpeakerStrain was like, how do I watch it? And then he got the link just about 15 minutes ago, and he's like, oh, it's live. I'm like, yeah, it's live. And they were just like, whoa, mind-blowing. You know, because some people that don't realize it, it is recorded, but it's a live broadcast, so nothing is scripted, and everything is off the cuff. And if you watch it in the past, there's some times where it seems like we're all arguing, or we hit heads against each other, but...

SpeakerIt's become like a hash church family. It really has. There's been all kinds of things discussed on this show. I would say it's definitely the most innovative conversation in all of our community, probably worldwide, not just Canada. And that's not just because I'm on the show, but we've gone every direction possible. You know, everybody adds something. I'm always interested to hear what Mark has to say. He's like the science guy that comes in with the matter of fact.

MarkOr a tune or two, right?

SpeakerYeah, no, you're good. You come in with the science or you'll say, okay, okay, this is what he's saying, let's fine tune that a little bit. And then Horatio always comes out with the tough questions. You know, he waits in the background. He's sitting there and he's waiting and he doesn't say anything and then bam, bam, bam, he starts dropping questions. And that's how it evolves, you know.

SpeakerWriters, activists... It's been a crazy ride. But I did want to show you something that I'm going to send you. I don't want you to feel that it's inadequate compared to the other things I'm going to send you, Bubble Man. But I have one, and this is all I have, just to give you an idea. And you know that I do terpenes. So This is extremely rare.

SpeakerAnd I myself only have about, I guess this is about 10 drops, right? This is Neville Hayes. This is Neville Hayes 14 to 16 week pure terpenes. It is un-fucking-believable. There's only three of these that exist.

BubblemanNeville's Haze Turkey, a.k.a.

SpeakerWhat'd you say? I said a.k.a.

Bubblemana.k.a. a.k.a. Those are vagina terps. The what? Oh, you missed our earlier conversation about vagina terps.

SpeakerOh! I don't know. Yeah, no. This is this shit right here, though, bro. This is like peppery, a little bit of peppery, hazy. This is like Amsterdam in a bottle. And it may not be the exact cut that you're used to. It's been in Cirque for probably 10 plus years out here, about 10 or 12 years. And I think it's Hopefully I don't pluck it up, but I think it's from the Santa Cruz area.

SpeakerSame crew with the lemon tree that I got this from, and he's probably smiling right now because he knows how amazing this shit is. And there's just not... What'd you say?

BubblemanIt's some of my favorites. Some of my favorites.

SpeakerYeah, so this is like part of my little Christmas present to you, but I don't want you to be like some of the people online when they get their turps and they look at it and they go, man, this is a rip-off, what happened? My shit leaked.

BubblemanI had a hard time killing the battle. I think Jack is the one I'm basically down to almost nothing, but there's even still discoloration and something in there to be To be wiped.

SpeakerWell, man, you'll know it's pussy turps if you smash it to sniff it. That's the... Tony, do you ever get in the fetal position when you smell the Neville's Haze? Like, do you ever just curl up on the couch at your fingertips from just touching the jar? If so, it may be your version of the most powerful turps on the planet.

SpeakerWell, I would say that, honestly, this is the most exotic... This is the most rare. This definitely separates itself as far as a terpene profile just because it's an expensive herb to even get. It takes forever to grow it. It's so unique and so pleasant. It's not overbearing like the jack is really, really loud or anything with the lemons or oranges. Those things are just screaming off the chart.

SpeakerThis is more like I'm smoking a nice haze flower. This has like a pepper to it, but haze over time. The one that's been putting me, the one that's honestly been putting me in the fetal position, and I missed what you guys talked about, but definitely fetal position of me just like, you know, would be probably the lemon tree right now. The lemon tree that I have from this outdoor, this LD grow is some of the best herb I've seen.

SpeakerThe mango, this mango is one of those that's just really good. But the lemon tree is dynamic. It's one of those, the reason why I say fetal position is one of those strains where you smell it And I smelled the herb, and I smelled it four times. You put your head in the bag, and you're like, oh, that smells like this. You go away, you put your head in the bag, and you're like, oh, it smells like this.

SpeakerAnd you keep doing that. And, yes, definitely, Jeff hit me up with the lemon treat. That's something that entered as a new product, and... The straight terps, and if you come visit me, I will definitely have probably 10 to 15 different flavors and available for purchase as well. But I'll have the lemon tree for you, Jeff. This lemon tree, I'm convinced it has skunk one in it.

SpeakerAnd I think it's got skunk one and maybe some Cali orange. The timing's right. It was 12 years ago, Santa Cruz. It's a variety that sometimes smells like a tangy, sometimes smells like friggin' super skunky. And Super Lemony, but it's constantly changing. And this particular batch, the first kind of one that we did was, it's not, it wasn't really a, it was good, the stuff that I was calling lemon tree was okay, but it wasn't, it was not this run.

SpeakerIt was not the lemon tree certified LD, this shit was, this shit's on another level. And, um, I'll be sending you a little bit of that as well, Bubble Man. You're going to smell it, and you're going to be like, oh my God, that's like some form of skunk variety. It brings you back, and it is pungent, and it's a totally different type of response. I'm going to take one drop of it in honor of...

BubblemanIn honor of Neville's Haze. Ah, yes. Ah, yes. You saw that video I sent you. You saw that video I sent you. The West Coast Concentrate guys hitting the Terps. And you really can see it. Like, they're literally excited and uplifted, and it's definitely something. I've got my jars. I've got eight of your jars here and three of Horatio's jars, two of which I don't even know.

BubblemanThese are just, what, the hydrosols or something, Horatio?

SpeakerYeah, that was way back when. One is the terp champagne stuff and then one is hydrosol.

BubblemanRight, okay, there.

SpeakerOne should be like really pungent if you taste it. Which one? One of them. I don't know. They weren't labeled back then. I was just like, hey dude, check this out. I just did it. I wasn't thinking, thinking. So one should be straight water and one should be the terp champagne precursor.

BubblemanThe precursor to the Terp Champagne.

BubblemanTrying to see if anyone's talking shit in chat. It's always hard to keep chat in line, I'll tell you. We have managed to do it for four hours today. In two minutes, Hash Church will be reaching the one o'clock point and everyone will be free Thank you so much for joining us today.

BubblemanSometimes gems are created in the pressure that's produced here in Hash Church. So I do appreciate everyone for coming and hanging out. Thanks Horatio for going and representing yesterday for Canada up or down in Seattle for the Canada Awards and congratulations on your award and congratulations Hash Church on your guys' award. I mean really that's, you guys all make it, you all make it what it is so really that's an award that That is to be shared by everyone.

BubblemanAnd I do appreciate Jeff coming in and spending some time with us, Mr. Mark Scaldone, and Tony Verzura, as well Todd and Etienne who were in earlier, and of course D420K, and anyone else that I may or may not have forgotten. Have a wonderful Sunday, and hopefully we see you next week for episode 64. Peace.
