BubblemanWell, hello, hello, hello, everybody, and please welcome to Hash Church, episode 30. How's that, guys? We've been at this for 30 weeks in a row. Completely impressed. I'm going to send out the links here now. I just sent out the links to one of our new guests. I'll send out the links to our tried and true guests. I've got a whole bunch of different people I'm trying to invite into the room today, a few that you've seen and a few that you've never seen, so I'll just wait to see whether some of those people show up, but I have invited a good group of folks down and yeah, it should be pretty good.
BubblemanLet's see, we'll just start that, make sure that's all off. Oh, I cut that in time, that's wonderful. I never catch it in time. My YouTube was just about to start for the 30th time in a row, and it looks like I finally learned, guys. I finally learned how to start the chat without my own voice echoing through. So I'm sure everyone's quite happy about that. And we'll see what's going on.
BubblemanI'm pretty excited for Hash Church this week. I can't believe it was only 30 weeks ago that I just decided to sort of start this little show off, to start promoting this and doing it, and it's pretty exciting. I'm going to have to send that link out again one more time. Usually when I send a link out and I don't hear back from anyone, you can almost bet that they didn't get the link.
BubblemanSo let's try again. All right, here we go, guys. Well, I guess it's a wake and bake. That's what we do. We have a little wake and bake. Had a great day yesterday. Let's see. Where do I start? I picked up a good friend of mine that I've been hanging out with for almost 20 years in this community. His name is Martin Dizzle from the company Ruhr.
BubblemanHis company has been around since 1995, which is the first year that I started going to the shows in Europe. I met him either in the Dortmund Cannabis Germany show or in the Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam. I can't even remember. But I've had a close relationship with him ever since. We've just been friends. We've always enjoyed, you know, making sure that we get a dinner in here or a lunch in there or a breakfast in and, you know, outside of that cup sort of work, work, work, hustle.
BubblemanAnd so we developed a friendship over the years and this was his first time ever flying into Vancouver, if you can imagine. So we, I picked him up at the airport, gave him a proper... Proper welcoming. Hello. Welcome, Mark. I was telling a little story about... How are you doing today? All right. Very well. How are you? Oh, I'm doing really good, man. I'm excited. I pushed...
BubblemanI dropped the Hash Church link one minute ago, and we have 300 people watching already.
MarkOh, you have a clean-shaven face here. Looking good, Mark. Oh, yeah, yeah, you know, this is about as clean-shaven as I get. Uh-huh. Yeah, I saw you were clean-shaven in Horatio's video. That was a really cool video you guys put out. That was really informative. I took notes.
BubblemanYou know what? I was really impressed with... I've gone to film with a lot of people. Horatio is just really... He pays attention to a lot of these small details, and even going to his house... He had it all set up. It was all set up to film. It was almost as though he was a producer and a director and he was like, he had it all written down and he was like, okay, we're going to be doing this, this, this, this, and this, and this order and we'll do that and it'll be cool, it'll inspire all these, you know.
BubblemanHe's wanted to share this information for some time but, you know, from a perspective of Do I share information that's incomplete and potentially dangerous? Well, the answer was no. He did not want to do that. So I think the video worked out really nice. I was stoked. Even while it was happening, I was just like, man, this is good information.
MarkRight, right, right, right, right. Well, it was just really cool because, you know, Thank you for joining us.
BubblemanWell, that's just it. Or, I mean, how many are, you know, like I've heard from these terpene books that there is a potential of 30,000 of them in the world and on all, you know, and maybe really that number is higher considering that we haven't potentially discovered them all or figured out a way to extract them all.
MarkYeah, that's what Kenny says. He wants to know, you know, that number 160 that came from the University of Mississippi, where did that number come from and what was the method that they used? Was that HPLC? What was the quantification there? What's the mass balance? And I think they just throw these numbers around because they just know that there's many and they could just use a large number like that and get people thinking that, okay, there's many.
MarkYep, exactly.
BubblemanIt's the more accurate way, too, in this day and age when we just, it's hard to just say you know exactly how many there are, so really what better way than to say, well, let's just say there are many.
MarkYeah, a lot.
BubblemanExactly. All right, well, I'm going to hit a little wake and bakey while we're here. It's interesting. I've sent the link out to everyone, but we're the only two that have managed to figure out how to get it to work.
MarkEverybody's having a good time in Denver at the Cannabis Cup. That's probably the issue. Yes, yes. And here they come now. Yeah, here's Tony. Did you send Jessica the link, Mark?
BubblemanWhat's that, Mark? Did you send Jessica the link? Send Jessica the link. Yes, I sent her via the email invitation. I could also. Look at his hair, bro. Look at his hair.
SpeakerLook at his fucking hair, bro. Don't you make fun of my hair.
BubblemanHey, bro. You look like fucking 20 years longer now. That's what I was going for. What's up, Jeff, Aaron, Tony V, and Mr. Horatio? What's going on? What's up?
SpeakerIt's funny because there's chaos here and like I told Cuban, I was like, come by, let's do the hash church. I told them, it's the same thing. They're like, ah, it's crazy. You need to water your shit, bro. What are you talking about? I water them every other day. Oh my God. Hold on a second.
BubblemanThis is a conversation Aaron's had with his growers over the years. Yeah, here.
SpeakerYou need to water your shit, bro. He wants to be in the top of his game.
BubblemanOr sometimes is it, you need to water my shit?
SpeakerDude. Hey. That's mint, bro. By the way, this is sweet mint, Tony. Not basil, bro. Tony's going to water his first plants. They'll be fine. They'll be fine. They'll be fine. Now, let this be a lesson to everybody who's watching out in the world today that you must water your plants for them to survive. Yeah. You must. Mark, you look good. You look good.
BubblemanAw, thanks, man. How's it going over there for the Cannabis Cup? What's the vibe?
SpeakerI just got a report just now. I just talked to Crockett. Yep. And... He said it looks like a tornado went through the cup last night. And like, these are like collapsed and lights are hanging from the stage and shit like that. He said it doesn't look good. People aren't going to be happy. Holy shit, dude. Yeah. But other than that, it's a great show.
BubblemanOther than the tornado and the weather and the destruction. Yeah, I mean, the weather's not so bad, bro. This helps. Ah, the Terpsi, the Terpsi. Hey, did you get my message about the Terp champagne that Horatio and I had the other day?
SpeakerYeah, I heard about it. Don't worry about it. Everyone in the world kicks that chair.
BubblemanEveryone in the world. Listen, that would be, you guys would be all over it. It was a real nice touch that Horatio had put together for the beginning of our filming of our video.
BubblemanIt was awesome.
SpeakerThis is some terpy juice right here, bro. Terpy juice? Yeah, I got Legends number two right here. Ah, the number two. The blue suede shoes, in my honest opinion, it should have won.
BubblemanI love the blue suede shoes. It's delicious. You know, I think really probably the thing that beat the blue suede shoes out, it was right on par with that beautiful... Now, what took first? It was Ramon's dry sift. Yeah, okay, but here's the thing that I'll say. That blue suede shoes... It irked past the barb. And it was amazing because the thing with the barb, it was also just unbelievably tasty and it hit like a fucking champion.
BubblemanBut the piece of hash that they pressed, I mean, my God, it was the nicest piece of hash that was entered. Just piece of hash-wise, that brick of caramel, you must remember it.
SpeakerI remember it all. This is what I remember most of all. Let me tell you something. These turps don't lie. Let me tell you something, though. Mr. Cuban and his wife, Cuban grower and his wife, are so freaking on point right now. Look at this. That's dry sift from my pocket all day long. It's still 99% perfect heads, perfectly cured, no grease. Look at that, Bubble Man.
SpeakerMelty as all can be. Beautiful. Cuban is killing it, and I guarantee you he'll be on stage, him and his wife. And me. And Aaron. And Aaron.
BubblemanI wanted to take a moment to welcome Jessica. She just came into the room. And Jessica, now I've got this wonderful backstory and I don't want to mess it up. I know that Mark invited Jessica in and I'm just going to give you guys a little backstory here. Here we go. Allow me to introduce Jessica Hawkins. Okay, Jessica is the mom of... Now, I'm not sure if it's pronounced Nia or Naya, both beautiful either way.
BubblemanNaya. Naya is a 10-year-old girl who suffers from Dravet syndrome, intractable epilepsy, and was having many seizures a day, hundreds since she was very young. And in December, Jessica started giving Naya a CBD oil product. Which has resulted in some miraculous turnabouts. She slept through the night for the first time, seizure free, woke up giggling where she had been mostly non-verbal. Usually confined to her wheelchair, she now walks around and even sometimes upstairs.
BubblemanMark was saying that the best present that he got for Christmas this year was the gratitude that Jessica and her family extended back to him and how the medicine has changed their lives. And yet another example of a child whose condition when treated with cannabis oil is managed without the terrible side effects of the long list of powerful drugs that she and many other of these children with this epilepsy end up on.
BubblemanSo Jessica is here. And she's going to tell us, you know, she's going to tell us her, you know, her story and her words of this journey that she's been on. And I just want to welcome you to Hash Church, Jessica. I'm not sure if she's got her microphone working, but we have acknowledged you, Jessica. And we're very happy that you're here. We hope we can get the technical difficulties worked out and we can hear from you.
BubblemanLet me see if we have you muted.
SpeakerYou want to walk her through it maybe in private message? Yeah, I'm going to have her reconnect.
BubblemanBeautiful.
SpeakerThis is the Gorilla. This is Gorilla Rosin. This is the FQE Rosin.
BubblemanYou guys got some Rosin? You got Rosin?
SpeakerYeah, yeah.
BubblemanWe got all sorts of Rosin over here. Yeah, yeah, but do you have motherships? Do you have a mothership?
SpeakerWhere did we go?
BubblemanWhere did we go?
SpeakerI got a mothership when I came to Tony's room. ATN's got his mothership. Oh, and I also got, what do you call it when I come to Tony's room? Hot water. That Gorilla Rosin though, man. Tony pressed this up last night. It was what, the 70, 90, and the 120? 70, 90, and the 120. Yeah, so like all the heady, heady, you know, six star quality resin.
SpeakerAnd he pressed that up. Just amazing flavors. So smooth, too. It's just like, you know, no harshness to it at all.
BubblemanI guess I'll open up my judges pack here. I got this judges pack here for the Great Canadian Northern Extraction. Nice. Which is a little event that's happening here today. Most of it is oil. This is all oil. I'll end up giving it away. I think there's four or five oils in each one. They've got a hybrid, and they've got an indica, and they've got a sativa.
BubblemanI didn't want to sit them down and explain to them the wide leaf and the narrow leaf theory, but there it is for that. And then they've got the one that I'll be opening up, which is the solventless. Mm-hmm. And I suspect there's probably at least one rip in here that I can enjoy. So Horatio, be honest, have you been getting a lot of, oh welcome back Jessica as well.
BubblemanHopefully we've got the mic situation worked out.
SpeakerCan she hear us? I got papyrus.
BubblemanThat was a little tricky on the phone. Sometimes the phone is a little tricky with the Google app. I don't know how to use it exactly myself, but we're going to get it all worked out. We'll have her tell her story.
MarkIn the meantime, we can... Hey, Mark, did you send the address to her Yahoo email account?
BubblemanNo, I sent it via, yeah, to the Yahoo email account. I could send it again via actual email. I did it the way you told me to do it, by pushing the little plus button inside the... Yeah, try that again because she needs to reconnect. Okay, let me just see. I'm going to send it both ways. She'll get it in email.
BubblemanAnd she'll get it. Amazing how many times my computer, I raise my font, I make my font big on my computer and then it just changes it back to small. I don't know how I'm doing it, but I need to figure it out. Any computer guys out there know this one on a Mac where you make your font much bigger and then you do something, a swipe of the mouse, and it literally makes it all back to invisible again to my 42-year-old eyes.
SpeakerAnd then I come out to see.
BubblemanAll right, let's see if we can try this one more time. And then I might be, yeah, there we go.
SpeakerYeah, for some reason it's taking a few times to get in.
BubblemanRight, it didn't, the link that I've sent to all these people, I guarantee you it hasn't worked because I sent the link out to the most amount of people I've ever sent and nobody has, nobody's coming in. So I'm not sure if... It becomes... Basically, if you guys want to have a conversation, I can spend the next 20 minutes sending these links out, but I won't really be able to engage and run the conversation if I'm trying to send these links out to all these people.
BubblemanI end up being kind of focused in. Daniel James. AJ, shortcut.
SpeakerYeah, it's command plus and minus near the delete key.
BubblemanOh yeah, no, I know how to do that, bud. It just disappears one time. I do the command and the plus and I get it real big and then I'll just be working and it'll just go right back down to small. And I'm not sure why. I'm going to send out all these posts. If you guys want to just feel free to converse, I'm going to probably not talk for the next 10 or 15 minutes.
BubblemanGet these links all sent out to the people that are probably not getting them right now.
SpeakerSo what's new this week for 420 people? Well I was going to say I heard some like crazy entries going down in high times and like entries that are shatter, floating in terps and then are these terps, are they not terps and there seems to be a lot of people trying to go for that wowser effect but they don't have the technology to keep the product true.
SpeakerTony have you seen any of that? Yeah it's all copycat shit bro. People that are trying to steam turps out, they're getting a very popcorn taste. They're getting a very harsh taste. And when people try to combine them with their runs and hash and everything else, naturally it's not going to come out as well. And so there's a lot to do with temperature extraction on that. There's a lot to do with curing those turps.
SpeakerAnd there's a lot to do with keeping the single source terps, the same source terps, not trying to match up too many things. Kind of like you mixing breeding an amnesia haze, a goo, and an OG and a haze all together and you're expecting to have this amazing result. What you end up getting is just a bunch of flavors that come together that end up gray. And so... Is everything tasting the same?
SpeakerNo, it's going to give you a different harshness. It's not going to match up right. Where are you going to feel it? In the throat? In the nose? In the nasal? Yeah, it's going to cancel itself out. I don't know. Some of it's harsh. Some of it's not real terps. Some of it's steamed terps. People are all trying to do the different types of terps, but at the end of the day, your terps are coming from your flowers.
SpeakerSo you're only going to be as good as that starting material. So, you know, some of the best stuff I've seen in the cup so far as far as, let's say, the concentrate side, obviously there's some rosin entries and things like that, but as far as flavor and the response, Davalicious once again with Crockett Farms and DNA came through strong. He came through with Bananji. The newest one for Davalicious.
SpeakerOh, no. Bananji. Bananji. There's Bananji. There's strawberry lemonade Bananji. There's strawberry pink lemonade or something. Strawberry lemonade across the lemon skunk. Yeah, there was a strawberry banana lemon skunk. That's so tasty. There's a strawberry cheesecake. Sour strawberries. Sour strawberries. There was a Bananji, Kosher Tangy Bananji Land. My favorite so far, though, has been the banana and the tangy, the 50-50 blend together, which is a through and through strain.
SpeakerSo it's from seed, and it's actually already sold out of all those strains, that particular seeds already. Sold out. Sold out for the day. Sold out. Because it's that good. I mean, the banana tangy is just insane. We're actually waiting on Don to bring it up. But the non-solvent category, I think that the good old-fashioned full melt and the dry sift, honestly, you know, even though there's been five and six star pressed out, wonderful glue, and different rosin, the rosin's going to test really strong, but the full melt and the dry sift that I've seen, the flavor and the full...
SpeakerFull flavor, full response from it has been, once again, in my opinion, it's better than the rosin. I've just seen really good full melt in what Cuban brought, this time with the different entries, his Cookies and Cream and his Kimbo Kush. Outstanding. If it was entered in Legends, it would win hands down. Zero caking out. He went the extra mile. I put it in my pocket the whole day.
SpeakerPocket cure. Bubble Man yesterday. The whole day didn't change form. No grease.
BubblemanNo grease. Hey, you know, I did 10 days at the Cannabis Cup with mine, so that doesn't surprise me.
SpeakerYeah, and when it's done right, when it's done right, it's tough to beat Dry Sift. It really is.
BubblemanWell, think about it. Think about the guy we all look up to, you know, Skunk Man Sam. Well, it's what he cuffs.
SpeakerYeah, I mean, and the Terps are so loud. When you're cultivating specifically strains for resin and curing that out and then extracting that and curing that out and you're just dry sifting to a 99% purity, you open that jar and it's louder than anything else. It tastes full.
BubblemanIt's mostly unadulterated version. It's dry sift. There's the least amount of footprint. It's really the footprint is in your inability to properly decontaminate it rather than have a water extraction footprint of losing water solubles or of a hydrocarbon footprint or a rosin footprint of excessive heat. Every extraction process leaves a footprint.
SpeakerYeah.
BubblemanLike, and I'm sure Mark could confirm when you go in deep, like with a proton NMR, that footprint must be distinguishable. You must be able to find that footprint. Like, someone that knows what they're extracting would know, oh, we're doing the hydrocarbon again, or we're doing the... It has to leave a footprint. And so Dry Sift, to me, just seems to be the least... It's like the footprint in the sand that's almost disappearing.
SpeakerAgreed.
BubblemanAs opposed to some of those really bad ones where people are extracting with mercaptans and their hydrocarbons. Those are bonding to the oils on a molecular level and now you've got a footprint in concrete. To most, I mean, maybe to a scientist, the scientist can be like, no, no, I can get that out of there. Okay, well, that's great. I believe that, but most are not getting that out of there.
SpeakerI wanted to ask Mark if he had any idea of the footprint or the change of the molecular structure that's happening when you're doing a THC or cannabinoid distillate. So when you're actually... Distilling it, heat vacuum. What's happening there? I know that you get a 100% de-carb product, I mean, or 99.9% of it's de-carb. So it's perfectly activated. But I'm just wondering what else happens. What, you know, because there's 5% of something else that's never quantified in a test.
SpeakerSo, you got anything to say about that? Oh my God. Boom. That's not chem.
MarkIs that the chemdog?
SpeakerThat's a chemdog.
MarkThat's a chemdog? That's chemdog 91. Yeah, so what happens thermally, I mean, when decarboxylation happens, you've got to remember that you're at a temperature that typically, if you're decarbing on a nail or if you're decarbing in a process, You're at a temperature where you're going to start doing all kinds of chemistry to those terpenes. The most sensitive and most fragile terpenes in the mix will certainly start doing rearrangement to maybe even other terpenes.
MarkMark, you had said something about mercaptans, which are often used as sometimes stabilizers in some gases. Those are just nasty compounds. They contain sulfur and they can react with terpenes to now make sulfur, sulfonated terpenes. They're just things that you want to avoid at all costs. I think if the question was can we quantify everything that happens thermally, I'm not sure that that work's been done yet.
MarkI think that it would be really nice to be able to take A what a chemist would call a mass balance and start with a known amount of of compounds in your starting oil and then heat that up or you know do something thermally to see exactly what happens to all the compounds in the mix and that's a nice thing about NMR is it can it can actually serve dynamically as a way of looking to see how the structures How does the composition of the compounds change with time or with heat?
SpeakerYes, so really the question that I had was You know, basically when you've got a THC or cannabinoid distillate, so basically you've distilled out all the terms. You've fractionated that out. And so you're really looking at like a purified cannabinoid. I was just wondering if you had seen any proton NMR results from that or, you know. I'm just wondering what happens there because it seems to me that it's a really nice product.
SpeakerYou can basically get that distillate out of whatever material you want and it's fully activated so the patient can eat it right then. And so I'm just wondering what is the safety for them to be eating that? Is there a possibility that there's something in there negative? I don't know at all. I just know that it works really well for patients and I just want to Before I'm really promoting the eating of that and actually putting those changed cannabinoids in there.
SpeakerWhich one are you asking? Well, you know, I mean, when you do a cannabinoid distillate and you've removed all the turps, so you're just talking about the cannabinoids, you know, like I'm just kind of... Once you do all of that work to get to that point, it's pretty much just pure cannabinoids with like 5% something else in there. And I don't know what that 5% else is.
SpeakerIs it other cannabinoids that have broken down or...
MarkYeah, because it seems very, very pure. Yeah, so let me comment. So the NMR that we ran of the sample of clear was amazingly clean, very, very, very clean. And so what you see is that a lot of the minor components, like the minor terpenes, yeah, are completely gone. But it's completely been decarboxylated. There's no acids in there at all. It appeared as though there were a few minor components that we really... One of them looked like caryophyllene, but to tell you the truth, I couldn't make that assessment without doing some more testing.
MarkThe nice thing is what we can do with NMR, just like you do with HTMLC, is you can begin to understand what peaks are associated with what by spiking the samples with authentic beta-caryophyllene. And so what you'll do is you just add a little beta-caryophyllene to that NMR tube, and when you see those peaks growing in, then you can identify what peaks correspond to it that aren't corresponding to anything else that's interfering.
MarkSo the clear that we looked at, again, was amazingly clean, amazingly clean, meaning that there's very, very little, it's a textbook spectrum for THC. There's, I would say, less than 2-8% of anything else that would be in there that would be derived from, again, probably some thermal recombination reactions of what's going on when you heat up the terpenes to that level of temperature.
SpeakerThank you very much for that answer. I want to make sure that it's safe because it really seems like it's an amazing product for people to eat. You know, you can put it into any food and the flavor is not there. You're not overwhelmed with cannabis flavors. So for people that don't like that, it's a really nice product and it's totally activated. It just isn't without terpene.
SpeakerDid you tell them what we did last night? We took the rosin and dissolved it into the prana fat? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It just dissolved right down into the prana fat. So we took, what was that rosin? It was this one right here. Yeah, I took some of the 45 rosin, and then we just, because I just, the plant fat that I'm using, our prana fat, absorbs, it was absorbing full mouth, absorbs all kinds of oils and things, and we were like, oh, I wonder if it would absorb all of the rosin, and it did, and it left like, it only left like the littlest bit of what waxes would be left in a shot glass, we left it in overnight.
SpeakerSo it was pretty interesting. Yeah, it really shows that there's definitely something that's not dissolvable in that fact that was in there. You know, but all the cannabinoids just... Sucked right out of it. It almost reminded me of when I do an ethanol wash and I have waxes on the side of the jar and I'm kind of cooking the ethanol a tiny bit to get them to evaporate and then you recondense down and it washes all the cannabinoids away and you're left with this white, white wax on the sidewall of whatever container it is.
MarkThat's exactly what that is. Those are the waxes and the lipids that are basically the cell walls and the compartments of the trichome itself. I know that there's been a lot of people say cellulose. It's not cellulose. The trichomes are made of, it's a waxy envelope. It's an extension of the wax. That is the cuticle that forms over the plant as a protective measure. Cellulose comes into effect if you're talking about the plant cells itself, the leaf itself.
MarkThere is cellulose, and cellulose are just long polymer chains of glucose. But if you're just getting the trichome, taking just the trichome, all you have is the wax. And what's being left behind there, Jeff, I'm pretty certain is just the waxes and lipids that you're getting that aren't soluble in alcohol. And that'll come out as well. So if you've ever cleaned your grinder with isopropyl alcohol and you see all that white stuff left behind, yeah, that's all the fats and waxes.
SpeakerMark, I got a question for you because a lot of people argue this. I've seen when butane people, butane hashyl extracts are de-waxed, they present this stuff and they say it's fats and lipids, but it literally to me looks like cellulose because it's thin and it's flaky and there's way more of it than there could possibly be trichome head wax membranes. So, it seems like certain hydrocarbons are extracting other things from the plant material because when I winterize with alcohol, I get a very small amount that represents the actual, I'm like, that looks like all the wax that there could be around the heads.
SpeakerBut this guy is showing me a mason jar full of stuff that I can't rub back into my skin and doesn't reabsorb. It seems foreign. Yeah. From a fat.
MarkYeah. Yeah, so cellulose is this. Cellulose is paper, right? It's high molecular weight. There's lower molecular weight versions of cellulose that are called, well, in trees, in wood, they're called holocelluloses or hemicelluloses. These are just smaller polymers that could be not like fiber and paper, but could be more soluble. You know, a lot of those are extremely hydrophilic, and they don't really represent something that's going to be highly soluble in a very non-polar medium.
MarkSo I would think that, again, you're not really getting a whole lot of cellulose, but what you could be getting, again, are these waxes. There's very high molecular weight wax. This was something that Jim Frayer had pointed out to me that I was unaware of. But most of it, again, are the... You know, phospholipids that are essentially the brick and mortar of the trichome itself, so the compartments that are holding in these bundles of chemicals essentially are wax in nature.
MarkOkay, Mark, it doesn't look like we're going to be able to get guests on our call today, huh?
BubblemanWell, I just told her to restart her phone. You know, I always wonder, oh my goodness, why is this happening? And then I think Jess has overcome greater things than this. And I think that she's a fighter, and I think that she'll continue, and I think we will hear from her. I told her to restart her phone, and maybe that would work, and it would be great if it works out, because I'd love to...
BubblemanI would, I would, I would.
BubblemanSo Horatio, have you been getting a lot of people contact you about the video? I mean, I myself sure have gotten a lot of people contacting me in regards to it.
SpeakerWell, I've tried to stay offline as long as I can, but my Facebook is buzzing now. Like, you know, it's on that other tab that just says message, message. But yeah, a lot of people seem to be excited in all different aspects. There seems to be something for everyone. It's not particularly tailored to anything, but some person remembers their steam distillation, some person remembers making bootleg alcohol, another person is focused on the oral medication we just talked about and the clear.
SpeakerIt's all over the map, so as it develops, it's only been 24 hours. We'll see what the public's response is that they want us to do next.
BubblemanTrue enough. Well, I can tell you about 5,000 people watched that video in the last 24 hours, so there's definitely people thinking about it.
BubblemanOh, here we go. I guess Eric Cartman.
MarkDon't lock your heart on yourself, Caricio, as a self-made chemist. Some of the best chemists I know don't have degrees in chemistry at all, man. You're doing just fine, my friend.
BubblemanWell, you know what, though, Mark? It's still, I think that an important factor in all of this, particularly when self-learning, is humility. So Horatio has plenty of it, so that's good. I think it's really just a safety net, having humility when doing such things.
MarkYou don't blow up. There she is, Jessica. You made it.
SpeakerI made it. I knew you would. This phone, I was ready to break it. Is that work ready to throw?
BubblemanWell, you know what? For whatever reason, life is not always an easy road, as you well know. And I was just saying to Mark that you've been through greater challenges than getting into Hash Church. I have a feeling she'll continue until she gets into Hash Church.
SpeakerOh, I'm here.
BubblemanWell, it's great to have you, you know. I'm not sure if you had heard the first time you came in when I introduced you.
SpeakerI didn't hear anything actually until now.
BubblemanOkay, well really all I did was read the introduction that Mark sent me in his own words to our private message on Facebook. I just re-read it to the people in Hash Church. And then sort of was going to put it up to you. So really, if you wanted to just tell your story, we are really open and ready to hear it.
SpeakerOkay. I'm not going to rush, but I'm going to do it as fast as possible because I only have like 30 minutes left here on break. Okay. I know I just sneak out of work. Ironically, I work in a pharmacy, which is ridiculous. I'm actually at work right now. This is kind of funny to the whole situation because I'm completely against everything that We have here. But my daughter, Antonia, is 10.
SpeakerShe has Dravet Syndrome. She was having between 100 and 400 seizures a day. Uncontrolled seizures. So any medicine that she's had, it didn't work. Sometimes it would work for a couple days and then she would go right back to seizures. And she never really was ever seizure free. It all started right around Six or seven months old when she had her first series of vaccinations.
SpeakerShe immediately had a fever, shoot up probably like 103 I believe. Within 24 hours she had her first seizure. It progressively got worse and worse and worse and they told us that she wouldn't, children usually don't make it out of that situation to become teenagers and adults and they gave us a lifespan of seven which we kind of weren't trying to hear that. So we just started to go all around the country Research and stuff, it was like, me and my mom were kind of too persistent.
SpeakerI mean, it became an obsession, trying to figure out how we can get her some help. We've seen a documentary on CNN about Charlotte Figge and the medical marijuana. That's when we decided to start doing more.
SpeakerWith the same problems. That is where I had the pleasure of meeting, well not where, but how I had the pleasure of meeting our friend Patrick from Pittsburgh Normal and Mark and a couple other people, very awesome people really keeping up the fight here. And we just became extremely, extremely dedicated to trying to find a way To get this here in Pennsylvania, you know, we've seen it.
SpeakerWe've seen it on TV where we've seen it, heard about it working, but we just needed to see for ourselves if it worked or not. So we met with some people, and on December 16th, my daughter, at 400 seizures a day, had her first dose of medical marijuana. For the first time in 10 years, She woke up and did not have a seizure for the very first time ever.
SpeakerAnd this was after she was on 0.3 mLs, which is, it was ridiculous. I mean, it was literally this much in a syringe. So my mom was like, we did not want it to work, but we were kind of figuring like, is there any possible way that this could be something else? Is there any way So this could be a coincidence. So she pretty much slept for the entire first day.
SpeakerWe kept her home from school. Next day she woke up at 5 o'clock in the morning and she said, I want some cereal. I'm sorry. She was nonverbal. Maybe a few words here and there. But she put her first sentence together. This is day two with no seizures after being on the oil. I went to work that next day. And my mom called me and she said, you know, 33 hours, no seizures.
SpeakerAnd she went into the kitchen. She called me about 10 minutes later. She said, Naya's taking a nap. I'm going to go make some dinner. I'll, you know, call you before you get home. And she called me and she goes, you're not going to believe this. And I said, what? She said, I was in the kitchen making dinner and I heard Somebody laughed. I heard a little giggle when I turned around and Naya was standing behind me in the kitchen.
SpeakerShe was in a wheelchair. So within three days, she stood up and walked completely around my house to get into the kitchen by herself with no assistance and no seizures. So she went four days straight, no seizures, talking. She walked up the steps for the first time ever.
SpeakerSo we immediately contacted her doctors and we were like, you know, we know this works. This works. This is something that we need here. We're watching it work. We've got her tests. We've had tests run on her EEGs after her being on it and they're baffled. It's literally miraculous results. After day four she did have a seizure but it wasn't just brought on by itself. She actually just bumped her elbow Thank you for watching.
SpeakerShe's been having some pretty bad ones. Not nearly as many as before, but she has a vagal nerve stimulator implant in her chest, and the battery's dead. So we've got to go get that changed for her on Wednesday. The battery replacement will be Wednesday. But even now with the seizure that she's having, like the seizure she's having now because of the dead battery, even when we give her the oil, they stop.
SpeakerThey come back. They're not as bad, and they're not as long or as frequent, but they stop. And I don't think we, we're not stopping anytime soon. I mean, we met some really great people in Colorado. Dave and Elite Cannabis is, they're amazing people. And Mark, amazing, amazing person. And Patrick, they've changed our lives. We've had the very first Easter with her, no seizures on Easter and no seizures on Christmas.
SpeakerShe opened her presents and This is the first time we're actually getting to meet her ever in 10 years. And it's amazing. And I know that we can get that done here. And we need to get that done here. And as many people, I don't care if I have to tell this story over and over and over again every day to 1,000 people until people are educated on this situation.
SpeakerI'm willing to educate as much as possible to make sure that people understand that this is something that works and we need it. We need it. Thank you so much for joining us today. Thank you so much for having me.
BubblemanStereotypical Cheech and Chong stoner type negative has not really done our community a huge, you know, it's fun for entertainment and comedy, but now that we're trying to actually, you know, tell a story like your story, Naya's story, that's just so powerful and just, I appreciate that you're strong enough to tell this story over and over and over again and I really thank you for For coming into Hash Church and sharing it with us.
BubblemanIt's powerful stuff.
SpeakerI appreciate the invite. I'm willing to try to get to as many people as possible because when you hear about it, or when you live with something like that for so long, and you hear about anything that you think could possibly work, you're willing to convince yourself to try it. You should be willing to convince yourself to try it. I mean, it was difficult at first because my family is extremely conservative.
SpeakerCome from like a strong rooted Italian family. They're conservative. They're not into all the drugs and all that. And I was trying to explain to them, you know, about being open minded. And when they found out that it was something that might have worked before we tried it, they were all for it. And then my mom says all the time she laughs because she goes, my 70 year old, I walked into the house the other day and my 70 year old father was explaining to his 80 year old brother You know, how we're trying to get her on medical marijuana.
SpeakerNow my entire family is educating people. I mean, older people, younger people. My nieces go to school, elementary school, middle school, and they tell their teachers, you know, can we do reports on this? Can we tell other kids about this? And they're trying to explain it's not as bad as, it's not a bad thing. It's not, you know, of course there's going to be people to do stupid stuff, you know, put stuff in it, but that's not, The goal, like, I mean, we just have a lot of education going on, and I'm really, I'm ready to just let as many people around the world know it's possible that it's okay.
SpeakerAnd we've seen it work. We've seen it. I've seen it in person, and I live it every day now that she is better. She has a life. After 10 years, I finally, I didn't know who she was. I mean, I knew she was in there, but she is a personality now. And she's able to be her as much as possible. She's not healed and she's not cured, but she's better.
SpeakerAnd I tell people that all the time. She's always going to be her. She's always going to have a problem. But if this is allowing her to be happy through that problem and to take the stress off and take the pain off, then I'm going to do that. Are you getting support? My entire, as many people, I've had maybe one or two people that I didn't know, like on Facebook, say, you know, how could you, how could you, why would you let her suffer?
SpeakerYou might as well, you know, I've heard people say some really raunchy stuff that I don't even like to repeat. Maybe one or two people against it. But she's on the news here, and she's very well known here, and every time we go somewhere, people recognize her, and they love her, and she's encouraged a lot of other families to We want to try it and a lot of other parents to come forth about giving this to their children.
SpeakerWe have tons of support, more support than I ever could have imagined, ever, and it's amazing.
BubblemanAwesome. Well, that's amazing. You know, I was going to say that it's easier for the elders and the people who have been sort of somewhat affected by the propaganda over the years of cannabis because even when you say, you know, my family is conservative, they're against drugs, But at the same time you say, but when you have this situation, you'll try anything. From my perspective, I can just imagine like, it's true, you will try anything, like to the point where they'll operate on the brain, they'll open up the body, do all sorts of different things, harsh pharmaceutical drugs with incredible side effects.
BubblemanAs a mother, if you could wish for anything, cannabis must be as close...
BubblemanWell, and laugh and sleep and suddenly have a life. To me, it really, once again, it always sounds like a miracle if you don't understand the importance of the endocannabinoid system and the importance of how those signals regulate our biological function really shows in children like your daughter with Dravet syndrome.
SpeakerIt's amazing.
SpeakerThank you for watching.
SpeakerIt was that had called me when I decided to come out about my story. And they were like, you know, you're calling me a criminal and calling my mom a criminal. And, you know, how could you let your daughter smoke weed? And I'm like, first of all, she doesn't smoke it. It's an oil. She doesn't smoke it. And even if she did have to smoke it, she's not on the level.
SpeakerShe's barely able to, like, she just started to be able to drink out of a straw, so she wouldn't be able to smoke. But even if that was what she would need to make her better and put her at ease, then so be it. And I was trying to explain to this detective, you know, I asked him, I said, do you have children? And he said, yeah.
SpeakerAnd I said, well, if you had to sit and watch your child die and suffer and wander every day and not sleep because you're awake watching your children sleep, to make sure that they're still breathing every day for 10 years, and somebody said to you that you were able to have relief of that, you would do it. And he said, you know what, I apologize, and I'm sorry, and I won't bother you again.
SpeakerAnd thank God he has not bothered us again.
BubblemanWell, like I said, you know, these are the powerful stories, and it's, you know, I understand that with cannabis, it's such an amazing plant, the way those phytocannabinoids interact with our system, that you can get this instantaneous relief in seizures, in glaucoma, in many aspects, in tremors with MS and Parkinson's, it's very immediate, and I think that In the future as we learn more what that landscape is because it's like a dark room that you're kind of just guessing.
BubblemanYou don't really know what's going on and it's one of the things I love about Tony and the United Cannabis Act Now program and I'm not sure if Mark's told you about that program but I like the way they interact with the doctors and the patients and they gather this information and then they use that information to create a landscape Create a proper saturation of the endocannabinoid system through his little different P1, P2, P3.
BubblemanInstead of just a single drop, they have many different drops, and it's almost the way Tony talks about it is this 12 chromatic notes, and I see it being the future of cannabis as a medicine, and I'm sure many other companies will attempt and make the... I've never seen it be smarter in the sense of creating a landscape. You know, your information going into that program, the doctor's information and the plants and the profiles that are being used to produce a perfect saturated profile that's many plants, many full plant profiles to make your medicine.
BubblemanAnd I think that these are the things we talk about often on Hash Church. It might sometimes seem like it's very fractioned because one day we're talking To the glass blowers, one day we're talking to the scientists, one day we're talking to the growers, one day we're talking to yourself, you know, telling your powerful stories. So it's neat the way it's all slowly coming together and congealing into this, you know, we all just want to help one another.
BubblemanI mean, the bottom line, I can't imagine anyone hearing your story and not wanting to offer help in any way that they could.
MarkYeah, in fact, Mark, when Naya has been in seizure before and Jess gave her a drop, it stopped the seizure. I mean, the drop stops the seizure. Yeah, that's incredible. Amazing. Yeah, and I just think we're amazed at how rapid the body responds, almost like it's starving for these molecules. The very slightest amount in your system immediately sends relief.
BubblemanThink of the importance of them, Mark. We had Dr. David Allen in here talking about how he was convinced that the endocannabinoids in breast milk, when first touched to the lips of a child, produces the suckling. That's when they really start. That sucking motion, it's like this genetic thing that's connected to this milk that's been produced from the mother. It's just such an incredible system, and endocannabinoids and essential amino acids are there from start to finish.
MarkI'm sure mother's milk comes in the cutest containers, doesn't it?
BubblemanAbsolutely. It beats any dank jar I've ever seen.
MarkHey, guys, I've got to jump. I actually have to hit the road. I'm on my way up to Vermont to go play some Jerry Garcia music with my friends in Vermont on 420. So happy Hush Church, everybody. I just want to remind everyone it's Bike Day. Look up Dr. Albert Hoffman Bike Day and you'll find out what the importance of 419 is. It's just as important as 420.
MarkOur bodies need this. So, Jessica, we love you, babe. You're fantastic. You're a pillar in this community. Thank you so much for what you do, Jess.
SpeakerAnd you too. Thank you. I hope you have a safe trip.
MarkI will. Stay tuned to Facebook. You'll see pictures. Bye.
BubblemanBe safe, Mark. Yes, I got a private message today from DJ Short, and it simply read, Happy Bicep Day.
SpeakerThe first event I worked was the 50th anniversary 20 years ago in San Francisco. Amazing, amazing day.
BubblemanYeah, I've never really had the Albert Hoffman experiences. My friend Luke Brown, who's an absolutely incredible psychedelic visionary artist, you can check him out at SpectralEyes.com, Luke Brown. He was like invited to one of his birthday parties with like Alex Gray and Robert They all went there and I think later on they ended up going down to Spain to Salvador Dali's house and tripping out on acid and drawing together.
BubblemanOne would draw and then pass it over to the next and he would draw and pass it over to the next. Very cool stuff. That sounds amazing.
SpeakerHey, I have to run. My break is up.
BubblemanWell, thank you so much for coming, Jessica. That was really unbelievable. If anything that we can do, any of the panel I know, myself, anyone in Hash Church, if there's any way that we can help you, just get in touch with me through private message on Facebook, and we'll make that happen.
SpeakerThank you so, so, so much. It was nice seeing you guys. Happy 420.
BubblemanYou too, Jessica. Happy 420. Well, that's a powerful way to start, Hash Church. I mean, my goodness, you know, and then I guess people wonder, well, what's the connection to you guys sitting around and just smoking a bunch of bowls and joints and getting all high, right? Because the propaganda always has to whip back around. From the other side, and so I say to them, well, part of what we're doing here on Hash Church is that we are showing you that we can still be articulate and intelligent in our responses and in our conversation while chain-smoking phytocannabinoids through our... That was an amazing story.
SpeakerThat was unbelievable. I think all of us right here were, like, in tears. Definitely. Listening to it. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. Why do they keep it away from us? You know, why?
BubblemanIt's like right there. It's like imagine every single person that ever got arrested for cannabis, right as they were about to get handcuffed, that woman just shows up and tells her story to the cop. I don't think anyone would have ever been arrested for cannabis, ever.
SpeakerIt's crazy. It's a clear reminder why each and every one of us risk our freedom every single day. Dingo. For people like that. And it's humbling and it always reminds us and brings us back to what we're doing. We know that we can't wait for it. We have to get it in people's hands now. If we waited for our government to do it, both of our governments, we would still all be waiting.
SpeakerSo we decided that if it helps us, then we've got to help others because otherwise we're just down our own sense of humanity.
BubblemanI guess I've just almost forgotten the level of, like that's just, like she said it perfectly, like imagine you never knew your kid and then you just met them for the first time, like that's, you know, then the family, the conservative family being completely okay with any type of crazy hardcore surgeries or any like insane pharmaceutical drugs that just cause renal failure and like other terrible side effects.
SpeakerAnd she works for a pharmacist. Of course. Of course.
BubblemanWe're okay with that, but we're not okay with this plant-based medicine that seems to be, I mean, I don't know. This is just, it's getting pretty crazy that we have to still, that people like her are forced to deal with that. Watching your child die, she said it perfectly to the cop, how would you like to watch your child die and suffer? I mean, that's really what was happening to her child.
BubblemanHer child was given a death sentence at birth.
SpeakerAnd how can we continue to criminalize her and her child for what works for her and her child? I mean, and the area where she is, too. I mean, I went to school at West Virginia, so I know the area. And after the war, I actually rehabbed working just around in horse farms. That is very rural America there, very conservative, very Bible, be it you, Mennonite, or just regular Baptist.
SpeakerIt's very strict through there.
BubblemanWell, you know what I was also interested in and not to start some insane, because I know this is about the craziest conversation you can get into in life or on the internet. But I was interested in her, she didn't blame vaccines at all, but she definitely said that it happened right after the first vaccine. And I would be interested personally to see if, because when children who don't have vaccines get these diseases, They monitor those and they write them into the statistics.
BubblemanNow when I was younger and I started going, my friend was having a child and they weren't sure about vaccinating so they went to this meeting about vaccination and it was by no means conspiracy people. It was women who had vaccinated their child and run into problems. They weren't anti-vaccines. What they were anti was the fact that their children seemed to be excluded from being entered into the statistics And that's all they wanted.
BubblemanThey just thought, but look, this happened right after the vaccine. It should be a part of the statistics. And they were saying, well, no, it really had nothing to do with the vaccine. And there were enough of them that got together that said, listen, you can't just write the statistics one way and not the other. That's a manipulation of the statistics, and it'll show that what it's doing is better than what it's doing.
BubblemanWe have to be honest. And they weren't by no means anti-vaccine. But I would be interested to see if there was a connection in this form of epilepsy to Vaccinations.
SpeakerThat's another set of studies that need to be done.
BubblemanYeah, no shortage of studies to be done.
SpeakerIt makes sense that cannabis, you know, keeping the body in homeostasis, immune system and the central nervous system, and it's the signaling system for that. So it makes sense that when you have a deficiency in that system, you naturally could correct a lot of the things that are happening that are puzzling doctors. And if a plant of any kind gives a person or a child relief or their life back in any capacity, moments in their life back even, versus a synthetic or Chemical or physical alteration to the body, then I think it should be an avenue that should be explored first.
BubblemanAbsolutely, I agree with that 100%. I can't even believe that that's just not completely common sense and set up in our society, that that is obviously the first thing that is set up. Because at this point in time, people that are coming to it are coming to it after a Surviving a host of pharmaceutical drugs that damn near killed them. Surgeries of all sorts. And those two things to me seem both very extreme and should be at least close to the end of choices rather than at the beginning.
SpeakerAgreed. So I learned something on a lighter note. I did learn the Cuban tech of how to never touch or rosin with a tool. And use the paper to fold it back in on itself and have it get the most yield. Awesome. You have to make a face when you use your salon tech.
BubblemanNice. Hey, welcome Don, by the way.
SpeakerWhat's up, bro? Good to see you, man. I was admiring your haircut a little while ago.
BubblemanMy hair grows so thick and out, it was getting a little bit crazy. My wife was kind of like, so what is it you're doing exactly? Looks good, though. Looks good. Cut up. Well, I think I'm going to hit entry number one at the solvent list, and I do believe that it's Barb.
SpeakerWhen you used to be hard as fuck, but now you're a family man.
SpeakerWe miss you, brother. It was nice last month in Spain together, but yeah, too bad.
BubblemanIt'll happen again.
SpeakerYeah, that's why I like taking that with Diesel Dog.
BubblemanAll right, I'm Matt the Great Gardener and down doing some barb.
SpeakerShouts out to Matt the Great Gardener. Matt the Great Gardener. He's officially on the DNA Skate Army. And, yeah, we're stoked to have them part of the family. We've got Matt the Great Gardener now, too. Yep, on the skate team. Come on, bro. We can show you a video.
BubblemanWe need to do a 360 shove it off of a staircase. Something like that. No, I mean without breaking his neck.
SpeakerHe didn't break his neck. Then he took a hit. But let me just tell you. He got all the way down. I did let him know. Matt the Great Gardener? Yeah. We are not. We are not responsible for any type of broken bones caused by the skate deck that we sent them. I made that very, very clear. I think I have it on a text message. You have the disclaimer.
SpeakerThere's your disclaimer. That's why we don't send it with wheels. We don't want anybody to...
BubblemanSo is the cup just today and tomorrow, or is it...
SpeakerYesterday. And today. And today and tomorrow. The awards are tonight. So, the DNA Crockett family has so many terp variations of fucking flowers that Entries. And entries that like, I think they're just going to fucking do really well. I mean, it's really, there's a lot of good, there's a lot of really good extraction artists in competition, but really comes, I can tell everyone, it comes down to the genetics and the resin you start with.
SpeakerYou can't turn, you can't turn bad resin into amazing stuff and Would I like to say that from the beginning? To go to one of these shows, be able to come here, not have to worry about growing anything or pinching anything or even doing that and seeing yourself represented in so many different ways and by so many different groups of people, not even just people that we're all in bed with, but all these different people and it's like, Yeah, I mean, for me, it's really like full circle.
SpeakerIt's kind of homecoming. We were talking about that earlier, that you can smoke something that, yeah, some of your genetics from somebody else that you totally don't know. Yeah, and they put their heart and soul into it and they run up to you. We've had a lot of people running up to us because of past church or the different influences that, Like I've seen people run up to Don and Aaron about just different stuff.
SpeakerOne guy was like adamant about LA. As messed up as I was on the edible for some weird reason. By the way, I was out for like an hour. I couldn't talk. Dude, longer than an hour.
BubblemanI got destroyed by edibles last night.
SpeakerOh my goodness. He was like laying there or sitting there rocking back and forth and I was talking to him trying to just get him to drink some sugar or eat a pizza or do something. Yeah, dude, the melt entered this creamsicle pop. This orange creamsicle DNA melts pop from hash. A frozen melt pop. Jesus.
BubblemanTony was... That would go well in a Jamaica cannabis cup.
SpeakerYeah, this would be perfect for there. Perfect for there. You'd have every fool laid out on the beach. Except you'd never have it frozen because... You don't need to. It would be like, syrup on.
BubblemanWe just pour it into our drink. Just put it in your drink. Oh my God.
SpeakerWe're being ridiculous over the last few days, actually. Just pressed out a gram of Maui Diesel, Doug.
SpeakerI should be dabbing that right now. You should be. I got cat mouth just looking at that thing. Yeah, that shit that we razzled out 99% of the time. We're taking some of the best hash in the world and turning it into razzle. Definitely. That's pretty much how it's going to be. You want to, trust me, you'd be like, it'd be like, it'd be like Watson, Sam the Skunk Man, taking his best dry sieve and be like, I'm just going to put it in a salon tech.
SpeakerIt's already like so primo, bro. We've discovered taking 99% dry sips and rosin-ing that is just not the thing. It's just absurd. It's already the holy grail. Like why are you then going and going to rosin that out?
BubblemanWell, the same reason we were dabbing full droplets of terps in the beginning.
SpeakerYeah, I mean.
BubblemanWe start way over the line and then we gently pull ourselves back.
SpeakerBut if you got the 95% heads like this probably is here, then it's worth it. We're just trying to get to that. We're just trying to compress it all down into this one fantastic hit. And they're like, look what I got. I got this one fantastic hit out of all this. And it's the best. You know? That's how it used to be with DrySip. Now, it's turned into this rosin shit.
SpeakerIt's even crazier. And it gets you higher because it's activated. You know? These guys don't want to say it's not activated. They say it's partially activated, but it's only for like a short time. Like, well, activated is activated.
BubblemanWell, I'll tell you something about activated. This LHO that I got from Horatio the other day, what did you do to this exactly, Horatio? How did you activate this?
SpeakerThis is the distilled we're talking about on the show. The same stuff Jeff does. The distilled cannabinoids that are pulled over so they're 100% active. Well, 99.
BubblemanThey're strong as fuck. They're like good to put anyone to bed.
SpeakerMy wife's been on them for three days straight in the morning and in the evenings and she tried to take a morning off and Her whole body's gone out of whack because she's been, I don't know what the disorder is, but it's like all your limbs are heading away from each other and just tearing, that kind of nerve damage. But I'm hooked on it straight. It's the only way I get to sleep from the lab these days, so I'm really happy with it.
BubblemanYeah, no, I bet. It's definitely very strong medicine. Oh, there, it just did it again. You know, someone at one point in time said they were going to help me with my mouse issue. I guess it's not really a mouse issue. Maybe it is a mouse issue.
BubblemanThis is hard to work with, my font continually shrinking.
SpeakerDid somebody say DNA Skate Team? Yeah! That's me! Woohoo! Woohoo!
SpeakerHey, you look bored. I love that guy, bro. He's so funny. We'll send a board to everyone. How about that?
BubblemanOprah. Oprah Winfrey style.
SpeakerEverybody get your board. I want to say thanks a lot, DNA. You're going to have to use all my sweet salves and healing ointments. After all those wipeouts. We're not as young as we used to be. No, we're not as young.
BubblemanWelcome, Matt and Sarah.
MattPros don't wipe out.
BubblemanJust did a wake and bake with pain.
MattI'm a pro now. When I was 16 years old, my mom said I couldn't move to Kitchener, Ontario to join the I think it was the D&D skate shop asked me to be on their team, but I had to move to Kitchener when I was 16, and my mom said I couldn't, and I was so mad.
SpeakerOh, bro. And you listened? You didn't rebel? He was 16, bro. He was supposed to move to another city? He should have rebelled. Skate or die, bro.
MattI lived in a little tiny small town. I didn't have a car. What am I supposed to do?
BubblemanAlright, I'll tell you, this is what I did when I was 16. Matt, this is what I did when I was 16. I was really into skateboarding as well. I saw these, you know, old school movies with Christian Hosoi in Paris at that place called The Bricks, which was like brick quarter pipes and he's just skating and then there's like under the Eiffel Tower when they drain the water, it's like the most amazing like pool for skating and there's old videos with like Natas Copas and Hosoi and all these epic skaters.
BubblemanWell, I saw that shit And I was like, I'm going there. So when I was 16, I worked out a deal with my parents where I went and stayed with a family that had come, the kid had come and visited us once. I went to Paris to stay with him, bought him a skateboard because he didn't have one, and then we went through Paris and searched out all these epic skate spots and got pictures skating them.
MattIt was awesome. That sounds awesome. Holy cow.
BubblemanDude, it was amazing. 1989. Paris is really quite a skate city. Not to mention in Canada at the time, or at least in Winnipeg, skateboarding was like illegal. They could give you a ticket for it, which we all had many tickets.
MattI got lots of boards taken.
BubblemanOh yeah. They would just give us tickets and we would just give them pro skateboarders' names for the ticket.
SpeakerOh, that's wrong. They would take
MattThey would take my skateboard and then I would just go home and get another one and then I'd be uptown and they'd see me and they'd be like, what the hell? And they'd take that one and then I'd go home and just get another one. And they just, they gave up on sort of taking my boards because they knew I had so many of them. Bastards.
BubblemanTaking the skateboard. Did you guys hear the powerful story that Jessica shared earlier?
MattI caught the end of it. I caught the end of it. There's a lot of emotion going on there.
BubblemanWell, I'll tell you, man, it's like someone said it, actually. I got a few messages. I think ATN said it in the chat, but then I had another friend write me and say, that woman Jessica's story hit me hard, made me realize why I love doing what I do. Not only do I like putting smile on people's faces, well, there it is right there, right?
MattOh, for sure. We all could probably sit here and tell you story after story after story. One of the main ones for me, when I first got here in Victoria, I met a guy, his name was Ronald Ranger. And Ronald Ranger had glaucoma, but he also had a whole bunch of other things. I think this guy was seriously not well. But he had glaucoma, and his glaucoma would make him go blind.
MattAnd in his search to find cannabis, he had to go out on the streets to find cannabis. And a couple of times he would be blind going out on the streets to find cannabis. And this guy was mugged. He was pulled into an alley and sodomized on a regular basis. And still, this guy would go out because he needed to find cannabis because he wanted to see.
MattAnd this guy had a horrendous, horrendous experience. When we came across him at the Vicks, we ended up giving this guy free cannabis for the rest of his life because his story was so horrendous in the fact that all he wanted to do was smoke weed to see. So... You know, those stories out there are, and working with the clubs for the last 12 years, I could sit here and tell you these stories for 12 years.
MattLike, they're ridiculous. They make you sort of recreational smoking. Like, holy hot damn. Like, it really makes people feel better. And you sort of sit back and you're like, what the hell? Like, Health Canada, like Health Canada, on their website, Still says that they do not recognize the medical benefits of cannabis. And they're like the organization that's supposed to look out for the betterment of Canadians' health.
MattSo it just blows my mind that we are where we are.
BubblemanWell, but does it blow your mind that lawyers destroy justice and police destroy laws and doctors destroy health? Or is this potentially an agenda that may be not an accident?
MattSure, sure. I believe in the bigger agenda. I believe that powers that be don't want people to have cannabis just for the mind opening, right? Like open your mind and you start to feel a little bit.
BubblemanThat's it. That's how it connects to me in a sense. I can imagine people watching this and thinking, wow, that woman's story was really intense, but now all of a sudden they're just smoking joints and bowls and laughing and stuff. But it's like, That's how we learned about all this. Like there was no courses taught. There were no, you know, like how we learned was we either got into growing or we got into smoking.
BubblemanAnd through one of those two experiences, it led us into, you know, eventually at one point, I could almost guarantee everyone in this room right now, it led us to The Emperor Wears No Clothes. It's like once you got that, it was kind of like the equivalent of when Waterhash came out, because nobody was making hash. Very few people were making the killer, killer hash. And so all of a sudden, anyone could isolate gland heads to 99%.
BubblemanIt really changed the game, and it started this whole like, oh, I'm an extract artist, or I do extracts. It's like, well... Holy shit, Extracts used to be the weird guy with dirt under his fingernails that made weird oil in his garage and you didn't really get to see it.
SpeakerHe was just like, I'll take your stuff and I'll turn it into oil.
BubblemanAnd we've come a far way, especially after visiting Horatio's, I just like to call it the inner sanctum. He certainly did not ask me to call it that, but I keep calling it his inner sanctum and that's what I'll continue to call it. What a fun, awesome place that I will guarantee will inspire many who see that video to create a space for themselves like that. I mean, my God, that's a good thing, Horatio.
BubblemanTotally.
SpeakerWell, I try to give people the impression, you know, I'm just a guy, you know, on a picnic table, you know, and the story you told, that voice, is just funny because, you know, you've known me for a year and for a lot of it, it's trust and faith because... You know, even if you did see all that, it doesn't mean you know what to do with it, but you've all known me, but I'm not able to share in that way, so seeing that I'm not some guy in a shed seems to help a lot of people.
BubblemanAbsolutely. I think it's going to be a very popular video, and what a wonderful thing to add to the solventless quiver. You know, it's why I love the rosin, it's why I love... The dry sift techniques and the wet wash techniques and, you know, the fact that you've figured out how to fraction out those citrus oils from the D-limonene and purify the terpene to a pure form, it changes everything in the final product.
BubblemanI mean, this is fully decarboxylated. I can rub it on my skin, I can consume it orally, or I can dab it right off the rig. Really like stupidly strong. Like stupid strong. That's what I would say about it. Which is a good thing.
SpeakerI'm hoping it goes further because it's just what mattered versus having it stretched with You know, that's kind of what we were talking about. It's why have it be anything other than as pure as I can get it so if it's stupidly strong it should last a lot of people a long time. That's what I hope. Especially in the case of seizures and people who may get, they may get some, but then they don't get the opportunity to get it again.
SpeakerThey're not in a region where you can just source it. So the stronger it is, the longer it can last.
BubblemanIt is kind of a crime against humanity. You know, I'd start thinking like Schindler's List style. You know, the way Schindler started like buying all these Jewish lives back to free. At least this is the story of the movie. It's like you start dabbing. You're dabbing all this great product and then you're like, oh, every time I dab, some kid is not stopping his seizure, his or her seizure.
BubblemanIt's like... It definitely makes you want to do as much as you can to get this medicine out there on a global scale. And I think it's why things are changing right now. I mean, dispensaries are amazing. I think they're great. And I think we probably need more of them. But at the same time, the level of distribution that those pharmacies have, it would be amazing to see pharmaceutical drugs off the shelf in pharmacies and cannabis-based medicines In those shelves, for those people that will never go to a dispensary, those people that are so locked into the way things are, it's like, well, then just change the way things are from within the system.
BubblemanMake it available.
SpeakerIn the Netherlands, you know, you can go to pharmacies in the Netherlands and get a prescription, and you'll get that nice little yellow can of floss jar.
BubblemanBedrican.
SpeakerYeah, from Bedrican.
BubblemanWhat is it, amnesia haze or something?
SpeakerNo, it's a Jack Herrera. Jack Herrera. Yeah, I actually got to go through the grow in 2011. I got invited by the Dutch government to go through their entire system, so I got to go to Bedricans Grow, see their clones, their mothers. Their flowering is very interesting, how they take plants in a single quart pot, put it into a room, close the room up, and never go in it until harvest.
SpeakerIt's very fascinating how they grow, and then of course, They have, I think, three different genetics, and then one they actually granulate of the Jack the Rare. And they put it into a, you know, deep freeze right after it's dried. But we got to go in there and watch them while the women were harvesting as they were sitting around and actually clipping it. We had hairnets on.
SpeakerThey had a very interesting drying room. Their drying room had a wall suspended above it with the air conditioner above it. The consistency was very interesting to see because
SpeakerThat's why they continue to get the contract there in the Netherlands. But to see it also, we got to go to then the pharmacy where they actually distribute it in bulk. Some of the patients cannot afford to get it in the individual five gram containers. So to make it more affordable to the patient or to easier to access, local regional pharmacies are giving it in bulk and they distribute it in bulk to the patient directly at the pharmacy.
SpeakerSo it was interesting to see where it works in a system, but also how small the Bedrocan system and how little is actually being grown. It's only this year, and they're in there, I think they're just going into their third five-year cycle, only now is the cost of the Bedrocan product cheaper than the market at the coffee shop. So it's taken that long just to make it competitive.
SpeakerYeah. True.
MattI was also in that facility back in, I think, 2009. I was invited to the master class that Bedrocan puts on and pulls people in from around the world. And we got a tour of the facility also. I was blown away by their flowering room, how they're just sort of one-gallon pots and drippers, and then they walk away. No one ever goes in there until it's done.
MattI just sort of watched it, and I was just like,
SpeakerAnd how far the lights are from the plants and how old those lamps and ballasts are. They're still using those same lights and ballasts.
BubblemanThey're ancient.
BubblemanBedrocan, hey?
MattYeah. That was a fun trip. Met a lot of heady people from around the world.
MattBut we got to go. We got to catch a ferry. So shout out, everybody. See you guys later. See you at the Great Northern Extraction Cup. I think that's what's tonight.
SpeakerYou bet. See you there. Peace out, you guys. We're going to the cup, too.
MattHappy 420. Happy 420, everybody.
SpeakerYeah, boys. Let's make it work. Good work. You had a powerful story today. Yes. That's yours, Mize. Have a great cup, guys. Thank you, class. We will talk next week. So, Bubble Man, did you go through all the samples of your sample pack already, or...? No, I've only really smoked the barb.
SpeakerI got to go through the entire Secret Cup California... Sampler. I did a full breakdown, actually. I did a full write-up. It took me about 13 hours, but me and a few people actually sat down and sampled every single one for going through the experience. If you just were given a kit and you sat down and actually went through the kit from 1 to 42, there's 42 samples, by the way, and so, yeah.
SpeakerFinally finished that up just the other night, and that will be out soon, I do believe. Todd's going to be putting out with pictures that he took, his high-res pictures, the write-up, and then we're going to have the lab breakdown of everything. We had the VIP party last night, so that was cool, and then I guess the Secret Cup's going on the next couple of days, but some quite amazing...
SpeakerYou know, samples throughout, you know, it's rather fascinating, so I'll be interested to hear what your sampler pack is like.
BubblemanI don't think it'll be on par with that of the Secret Cup. This is a smaller event for sure, and I think there's only about four solventless entries, so that my pack will literally be four entries. There are all these other oil entries, so there might be another 10 or 12 entries in here. I won't smoke them. I'll probably just end up giving them back or giving them away at the event to people who like smoking the butane oil.
BubblemanAnd I'll just probably smoke these four. I've already smoked most of my first sample and it was very small, so I doubt I'll even do any type of a write-up or... Anything. Horatio, I've got one for you too. It's got your name on it. I put your name on it, man.
SpeakerThat's so funny that you showed the dab and like right now it's just one dab left and it's 10.30. We've got to get to 5 o'clock.
BubblemanWell, I know how it, it was nice to wake and bake with it, I tell you. I guess I should save the rest for later. It's okay, we'll smoke, like I said, we'll smoke mine in the parking lot. Your microphone's reverberating again.
SpeakerIs it right now?
BubblemanYeah, when you talk it does a... Just start it right now.
SpeakerSo it's only when I talk, it's not, you can't hear it right now.
BubblemanOh yeah, when you talk I can hear it every time you talk, but when you don't talk I can no longer hear it.
SpeakerI don't know what that is then. I thought it was my pump in the background. That thing. Are you plugged in direct? Sometimes unplugging and plugging in your headset helps.
BubblemanYeah, it sounds like a connection problem for sure. It sounds like a connection problem for sure.
SpeakerIt must be because there's nothing new around here.
SpeakerWow. It's still happening.
SpeakerHoratio, your playground looks amazing though. Oh my goodness. I know chemists are going googly eyes looking at that stuff. Does it happen if I turn off my nail? Yes. Please turn my nail back on. It could be your headset.
BubblemanIt could be your headset, yeah. Could be the headset.
SpeakerThere were no solvent-less entries in the secret cup.
BubblemanNone? No, I guess there never, or yeah, there is. There sometimes is, right? There wasn't in this pack. Wow. That sucks. I thought there would at least be a dozen. How many entries? Forty-two. Jesus.
SpeakerIt was quite, like I said, it was 13 hours to go through with different people to get all the different nuances of the taste, the flavors, where the effects were in the sinus, throat, mouth, onsets, undertones, overtones, yeah, a lot of it. 42, dude, trust me. The secret to life, right?
BubblemanYeah, I mean, seriously.
SpeakerWell, dude, watch out for cup lung. I know I came home with it.
SpeakerWhat was that? Watch out for cup lung. I know with 42 entries, the amount of lipids I built up, I came home with leather lung.
SpeakerEverything was very clear all throughout. It was a lot of very wonderful colored entries. I... Very hard. Everything cleared testing, and that was done by SC Labs. I saw the results, except that we were still waiting on the terpenes testing to come in still. That was the last results awaiting.
BubblemanOh, I was on mute. I think it might be time to blow a little smoke towards the Vatican.
BubblemanI'm hoping on still having Martin from Ruhr, potentially he flew into Vancouver just yesterday. He said he might come by with Enrico Bouchard from the Sublimator. So if we end up getting a nice conversation flow going and speak for the next 40 minutes or so, we could make it. So we'll see how that goes.
BubblemanWhat's a puff, what's a puff? Should I puff some 7 star Horatio? Do you still have that?
SpeakerI don't... Everybody got 7 stars before 20. Oh yeah. Which one's that? The Trainwreck?
BubblemanYeah, I think it is.
SpeakerYeah, I wasn't the greatest fan of the Trainwreck. It has so much leaning in it, I just get confused.
BubblemanYeah, we gotta fix your mic. There's only three of us here and one of us has a fucked mic.
SpeakerNo, I don't think we can fix it this weekend. I've plugged out everything.
BubblemanBend the cord somewhere. I bet you it's just because your mic was working perfectly. Something shifted in it.
BubblemanUh-oh.
SpeakerSounds like my dog's attacking me. It was definitely going fine for a second. That happened the other week, too. It was going fine for a second, then it cacks in and out.
BubblemanSo how are you digging the Taurus? Yes.
SpeakerI'm enjoying the Taurus. I'm also enjoying my egg.
BubblemanOh, you picked up an egg as well.
SpeakerYeah, I was able to find via various sources to find a couple of littles and enjoying it. The turp flavor is quite amazing. We're really appreciating the difference in flavors. I'm using a denail with a sapphire insert. Although I just ordered the new one. They just have the new denail with a little dish and then has an insert that suspends the sapphire above the dish so it's no longer sitting in a puddle in the dish.
SpeakerSo I'm looking for those to come in next week. So pretty excited about that.
BubblemanI have it. It's the silicone carbide nail with the sapphire insert.
BubblemanIt's awesome, dude.
SpeakerIt's awesome. I saw your new gold DNA. Which one? Which one? I saw your new three-piece gold DNA.
BubblemanOh, did you see that?
SpeakerDude, that is bitchin'. That's very, very classy.
BubblemanYeah, I can't wait to get that in the house. You see when I roll up, it's always like that wherever I go, so why wouldn't I have a situation where I could just hammer in two or three nails. I have one case that will carry all three of my motherships. I got a straight fab, an egg, and a torus. So I can literally just be like, I'm hoping that it gets here.
BubblemanIt would be great if it was at my office right now because then I could go pick it up and bring it to the event tonight and we would have the 3D nails going and I could have the quartz Puking Beagle.
SpeakerI could have the titanium because I have many, many different titanium bowls from them. A few that are definitely, you know, like prototypes and stuff.
BubblemanAnd then the silicon carbide with the sapphire insert. So it's nice to have the three different types and just be like, well, you know, basically everyone I hang out with, Smokes ridiculous amounts of dabs anyway, so it's just like, well, if you want a dab, really, you should have three dabs. Try it on all three nails. Because why not? Because you can. Yeah, I mean, why not?
BubblemanIt's nice to... Because I would never do that for myself. Like, I'm not a collector that requires to have, like, all these pieces or whatever. It's more likely, like, I like the idea of letting as many people... Try a mothership as possible. Like I like them. Well, here, you should all try them too. You should all try them too.
SpeakerWell, now I have a problem. My girlfriend now, I got to find her an egg.
BubblemanHow about this? Oh, shit. Oh, shit. Oh, that's... Nice big... Look at that double XL banger.
SpeakerThat's a big, big, big... That's a heady little hitter, huh? How do you, you heat that beast hard, huh?
SpeakerYou can see right through it. Bam! With a golden hue.
BubblemanIt's definitely not a banger to be heating up with a little creme brulee torch, I'll tell you that much.
SpeakerGo torch.
BubblemanSo how did we end up getting a reverberation at TN? We didn't have that before.
SpeakerThat's what I'm wondering. Yeah, I'm like, what the hell? Now it's you? Only when I unmute. Unmute to speak, and if you speak, I guess we get a little feedback.
BubblemanTrippy. Well, I should recognize that there are 600 or so people in the chat room right now chatting away. Mr. Cookie's in there. Dylan Hewitt, who just picked up his piece from High Integrity Glass Art, has... Is in the chat, Womb Raider, Jay Evans, Green Smoke, Cajun Smoke, Cajun Grower, Green Smoke, sorry, mixing names up. Who sells eggs? Well, lots of people sell eggs. I know down in California that Dementia gets orders.
BubblemanI know that Culture probably out on the East Coast. I know up in Canada for the West Coast, the High Integrity Glass Art. It's a list for eggs. They only get a certain amount of them each time, and they only get them so often. Welcome K-Town, JR, and Sarah. Shout out from Santa Barbara, from Brandon Dimmitt. Yeah, this is Hash Church 30. Can you believe it? I'm amazed that we lost so many people, but I'm kind of digging the small.
BubblemanI have this feeling that it's the calm before the storm, if we can just chill out and Enjoy a few bowls. Etienne and Horatio are in the house, so it's always nice to have these guys.
SpeakerAlways a pleasure to be here.
BubblemanI don't have a smell of D-Limonene in my pieces, but then again, I have this new stuff that he's making and there's really not, it doesn't have that. It's more of a florally minty like terpene taste, but it doesn't, It doesn't, like, stay in my bong. And I am very, like, dude, I'm the first one to recognize any shit like that, because the older D-limonene extracts from months ago that I hit, it did make my bong smell quite strong of limonene.
BubblemanThe video that you, try to look on my channel, Bubble Man's World, it's the last video I uploaded, it's called Horatio's Inner Sanctum, and it shows the process, does some explanation You know, Horatio, after that whole video, someone posted a message saying, after watching the whole video, I still don't know what D-Limonene is. And I just thought, this motherfucker must not know how to Google.
SpeakerHe wants it all. He's like, I expected to become king of the world when I watched this video. It didn't happen.
BubblemanHoly Christ. I still don't know what D-Limonene is after watching this whole video. It's like, well, bro. Then I don't know what to say. The whole video, in my opinion, was a video to inspire people, and I'm pretty sure I said it in the video, to go out and Google the many little different keywords that you mentioned, and then go out to see for themselves if they can figure out how to fraction off the impurities out of the 95%.
BubblemanDelimiting that you actually purchase.
SpeakerWell, what I wanted to actually show was how dangerous playing God with terpenes you think you're going to buy is. And I think I know I'm going to make a weed blend. How dangerous it is to work with that stuff and not know what you're doing. And they all need to be purified. And who knows, I might be sourcing the best of the best and people are sourcing even worse material.
SpeakerSo, you know, just you can see it. That red stuff was in the clear stuff of the past. Thank you for watching.
SpeakerRight.
BubblemanWhich have the ability to be caustic, break down plastics, and like, you know, do real damage. So, I guess it's just important to learn the safety and the efficacy of it.
SpeakerYou have to respect it. Yeah, absolutely.
BubblemanYou absolutely do. Well, I want to thank all 600 people that are watching right now. We hope that we're giving you a show worth watching. Had some great people in earlier. There's, of course, the Cannabis Cup is going on in Denver right now. We've got the Great Canadian Northern Extraction, or sorry, the Great Northern Extraction, first annual, is happening tonight in the city of Vancouver, so hopefully that'll be a fun time.
BubblemanGot a little table there, so if you're coming by there, come see us. I'll be sitting at the table with Martin from Roor and Enrico from The Sublimator will be there as well. They've done a collaboration, the two of them. Actually, I kind of wish they were here right now because I would be talking about and showing you the thing that they did, so I'll leave it for that.
BubblemanWhen they get here, we'll talk about what those guys are up to. They are hard at work. So, yeah. Tell ya, I did get destroyed on edibles yesterday. They gave me all these different edibles. What did you eat? And how much? What's that? Okay, what did I eat and how much? Right, okay. So, they have these little candies that are like Jolly Ranchers, alright?
BubblemanNot your ideal healthiest version, it's like corn syrup and whatnot, like definitely not. But, They said they were really light. They're like, oh, they're super cheap, they're not that strong or whatever. I think they use a lower grade keef to do an extraction and put it into here. So I ate probably like maybe ten of these. Probably under ten, like nine. I think the last one I was kind of like, ooh, this is like... One after the other over a certain amount of time.
BubblemanYeah, yeah, one after the other. Just like in Spain when I did it with the gummy bears. She was like, oh, they're not that strong. And then I was like, after 14 of them, I was like, I have to go right now or I'm not going to make it back to my hotel. Such a far drive. And I swear I drove from, I was at Jigga and Flux's and Rick's hotel, or their apartment they rented.
BubblemanAnd I got halfway back to my place, which was 25 minutes away. And I started seeing roadblocks and police pulling people over and I was just kind of like, I was like, man, I'm too high for this. So that happened again last night, unfortunately.
SpeakerThank you so much.
BubblemanThat happened last night as well after eating many of these ganja drops. And then also eating a cookie and a half of this medicated cookie. This is the half cookie that's left, but I ate one and a half of these. And then I also ate one of these. Now, I have no idea. This is a chocolate. I have no idea what the milligrams are. I think she said that each one of these, it was 45, and I ate nine of them.
BubblemanSo that was very strong. But then the cookie, I think, has got to be like... It doesn't say it on it, but he told me.
SpeakerSo what was the effect? Where did it hit you? What was the answer?
BubblemanOkay, the effect was, first, it was really nice. It was, you know, that melty kind of like, yeah, this is good. And then there was just a moment, and it's almost like I've only ever had this moment also on mushrooms, where I don't know if it was a thought or a feeling... If the thought created the feeling, or if the feeling created the thought, but all of a sudden I was just getting too high.
BubblemanI was like, oh, that's weird. That was just really kind of nice. I was still chewing on the last piece, actually. I was eating the last piece. Sorry, I was beginning to eat the tenth piece when I was like, ooh. It tasted way stronger than the last ones. You know that taste when you just eat like pure oil or something? It was just like, oh, super spicy in my mouth.
BubblemanI put it down. I actually have the, it's almost a whole piece because really all, and I was chewing them as bad as it sounds. I was literally just like, jolly rancher style. Oh yeah, eating them like a fiend. Anyway, I ended up having to go to bed. I was so high. I just laid in bed. And then I would drift in and out of sleep. I would fall asleep, and I don't know if I was asleep for three minutes or for two hours, but then I would wake up and just be like, ooh, I'm really high again.
BubblemanSo that's how that went last night. I wrote it out, you know. It wasn't like super, I wasn't getting up and pacing, and my heart wasn't jumping out of my, hey, welcome, Todd.
SpeakerGood morning. Do we all have bad hair this morning? Is that what's going on? I think just me. I think me too, honestly. I have some stubble out of place.
BubblemanI got a haircut, so this is my new style, so. Whoa. I think you should go back to dreadlocks.
SpeakerOh, fuck, I know, dude. Yeah. I don't think a lot of people even remember you with dreadlocks.
BubblemanNo, that's going back. That's way, way back.
SpeakerRight, that's where we started. Long ago, when we were young.
BubblemanWhen we were young and my hair was down by my... By the back, halfway down my back. And Todd had no hair on his face. And Todd had no hair on his face. This is true.
SpeakerAnyway, we are on public TV. Well, the secret cup's going on in the bay. Even if, I wish you smoked all this stuff. You'd love it.
BubblemanATN was telling me you guys spent like 13 hours putting together the ultimate like... Descriptions, yeah.
SpeakerThe photos came out fantastic.
BubblemanI saw the photos, only like four or five of them, and they did look very beautiful. It was oil dabbed up on a dabber with a white background, correct?
SpeakerYep, yep, yep. There's 42 samples that went in, and they all came out amazing. I mean, we're looking at the test results. Fantastic. What people are coming back with are just fantastic, you know. Did the terpenes come in yet? No. Huge no. Huge no. Which is sad, but we're working on it. I think they're going to come in late. It's obvious 40 had the most terpenes. It's totally obvious.
BubblemanOoh, Mark T is saying the secret cup is full of garbage. But who are you, Mark T? And what basis of reality do you?
SpeakerI would not say it's full of garbage at all. I tried all 42 and every, you know, no, sorry. Nothing in there was garbage. Everything tested clean. Everything was from there, really. Hey Mark, have you ever met Vernon Phillips?
BubblemanUm, not met him, no, I don't believe so.
SpeakerHey, come here, let's sit over here for a minute, Vernon. You need to know this, Kat. This is my friend Vernon Phillips. Vernon has Phillips Rx. He had a tumor when he was younger and, uh, Now he's a big hash maker. He actually doesn't just do extracts, I mean solvents. He does water, which is my favorite other solvent. And it's amazing. Just he has a knack for it.
SpeakerI met him in a parking lot with a box full of hash marks that you would have loved every little piece of.
BubblemanHe holds a hash or an extract quiver.
BubblemanWelcome, dude. Nice to meet you, man. You as well. Look at how clean cut we look.
SpeakerThat's good. That is really funny, actually. We can tell the world about new technology. We can talk about your pH.
SpeakerWell, if it's okay with you, I would say it. So Vernon's mom gave him a high pH water machine when he got sick. We'll leave that. We'll omit the sold and part out. But she wanted him to start using high pH watermark. And, you know, as a grower, you know, the pH of our water matters so very much. I mean, you can't grow plants if you pH at 5.
SpeakerYou know, what easily is you can't grow plants if you pH at 8. But we don't really pH ourselves. So Vernon started using this high pH water and his condition turned around. But then he also started using it to make his water hash. And honestly, he's had some of the most amazing water hash I've ever seen in my life. And later on, when I was on the internet learning about his high pH water, I did a little research and realized that high pH, high alkaline water, when mixed with vegetable oils, emulsifies the oils.
SpeakerWhen you put oil into a low pH water with more acidic water, the oils coagulate. Instead, when you can look online at this, they'll completely emulsify, and he's been making water hash in a high alkaline water environment, and it emulsifies the oils, so they most, I think, most likely easily go through the screen, and then what happens is the water neutralizes again. It'll go back to a neutral or as neutral as it can get, and then the oils will coagulate again.
SpeakerSounds like no big deal, but I think it's huge, and I also think that we're going to be moving forward in using the pH value of water, both acidic and alkaline, instead of using things like sulfur burners or potassium salts or any of the things that we've been using for an array of problems from bugs all the way to mold.
BubblemanRight. That's interesting. Very interesting indeed. The first time I really heard someone mention Some different PHs was a guy from Spain who Tony and I were supposed to link up with last year in Barcelona. We ended up getting too busy and we didn't meet up with him. But he sent me a picture of what looked almost like a crystallized amber. Like it looked like amber, but instead of clear, it was just opaque.
BubblemanAnd he said he figured out doing this with like PH. By changing his PH, he figured out a way to... Change the outlook of the hash, and I wanted to find out about it and learn more about it. I'm definitely, I'm sure that there's all sorts of different things you could do.
SpeakerIf you go online and look up vegetable oil and high alkaline water, the first time I showed Kenny from Trichrome Technologies, I thought he was going to fall over, because suddenly it made sense to him, you know, because the way the oils are interacting with the pH of the water that they're in is massively important. It's just that we weren't really thinking about it until Vernon, until I met Vernon.
SpeakerNo one was doing high pH water extraction.
BubblemanAnd so what advantages are you seeing with your high pH water extraction?
SpeakerAnd what pH are we talking about? You can range it to 11.5, but I generally just leave it at like 9.5. But for the water hash, probably the best, like if you want it on the shelf, like their general beach sand. We'd go 7.0, but if you want more of that greasy stuff that looks almost like a shatter, kind of like what he was talking about, you would bump it up to anywhere from 8.5 to 9.5.
SpeakerThe higher it is, the more greasy it gets.
BubblemanInteresting. Well, there's a good hash knowledge, hash church drop right there for any of you water hash extractors that are... Wanting to try something new? You know, if you want to see your outcome of your hash change, he's saying raise that pH. Raise it up in the water.
SpeakerNot with anything to change your pH. It actually has to be a system that changes it, not an additive to your water. You're not going to get no pH up or pH down and add to the water and then make your hash with it. No. I use a water machine that ionizes the water. It gets it to the desired level. So it's just water. Yeah, I really want to emphasize that I do not mean chemical alteration in order to get the pH change.
SpeakerWhat they are doing is they're using titanium plates with metal, with titanium plates with electricity, and it's... That's, I forget the term. Ionizing the water, right. But that's what's happening. And then it has, have you seen these machines, Mark? They have two spouts. One is for high pH, one is for low pH. And you can select the pH you want, and you can just, it comes out of one of the two faucets.
SpeakerIt realigns the water, if you will. And it does it without chemicals. It's also good for us. I mean, any good grower knows that pH is important. But we don't really pH our bodies, and all day long we take in really acidic stuff. And this is the kind of theory behind that we need more alkaline in our life. Just done the shit, everybody. Sorry. Sorry.
SpeakerIt's great. I've had one for 10 years. I have a Jupiter Melody. It goes up to, yeah, 11 and down to, the last icon is vinegar. I forget. But, no, those have been critical in regulating my health for years. I had a pretty much a high-icoline diet to bring my weight down. I used to be vegan, so I picked that up years and years ago. I just never thought of, like, I assume, Vernon, at your scale, you're pretty much going through a filter a week, putting through a 20-gallon bottle, you know, that much water through it, but we just use it for drinking, and I've done, you know, the occasional experiment, but never taken it to production scale.
SpeakerYou know what's funny is I didn't, I felt like I stumbled upon a secret, and he was cool about me telling people, But, you know, when I first saw him filling up, it was an isolator, with the machine next to his counter, I was just kind of a little dumbfounded because he had been telling me all about the properties of water hash, not water hash, but the properties of high pH water in my diet, why it was good.
SpeakerAnd that's what got me researching it, and that's why I stumbled upon what happens to Vegetable oil at water at like an 11.5 pH, and it just blew me away to see it emulsify. When they put it in the glass, the glass turned white.
SpeakerSo this has to be what's happening to the oils on the plant when it's in a high pH environment, and then it makes it super easy to go through the screen and basically coagulate. Did we lose Mark? Yeah, we seem to have lost Mark. Mark, can you hear us?
BubblemanI'm right here. I was eating a little bit of my breakfast and I didn't think anyone wanted to watch. I'm right on this time.
SpeakerFair enough, Doug. Fair enough. That's pretty appropriate. That's great stuff. Wow. Well, it's going to be cool, man. The Secret Cup is going to be happening today and tomorrow. They've got like 30 vendors in a private location, 42 hash makers join the contest. Pretty neat. And then the secret sessions have been going on here in the Northern California area, Mark. Those are cool too, man. It's like reminding me of squats in Amsterdam for parties.
BubblemanMan, remember the old squats in the 90s, how fun that was? Remember the one that Drum used to live in with the whole dragon painted on the side of the building and shit?
SpeakerNo, I missed that one, but that sounds cool as shit. They've gotten rid of all the squats in Amsterdam now. I know.
BubblemanYeah, this was like four or five stories tall. It was the craziest squad I'd ever been in. I was just like, wow, these guys are holding it down.
SpeakerYeah, poor Amsterdam's changing. You know, how beautiful was it, though, to see Barcelona emerging and all these, you know, smoking clubs and it's reorganizing of the culture.
BubblemanIt's pretty incredible for sure.
SpeakerIt's interesting to hear the different struggles they're still going through for regulation and just to survive from each coffee shop because each social club had its own story from, you know, the Strain Hunters Club, which is a beautiful place, highly brand new all in all, and they still got messed with if it hadn't been for their proper ventilation, you know, who knows. And hearing of another spot we went to where this guy had his door kicked in six different times until they were satisfied with his ventilation system and they're now letting him be.
SpeakerSo it's very interesting to still hear how things are going good there in Barcelona, but we're up in Basque Country in San Sebastian. They let it get too lax and the feds came and kicked in the door. So it's very interesting what's going on in Spain. Shitty for sure.
BubblemanI think that the police in Barcelona probably own the ventilation companies.
SpeakerAh! You know, I was just going to interject and say I can't wait until they're kicking my door in for air quality.
BubblemanDude, some of those places dropped 60,000 euros plus on their air systems.
SpeakerI mean, those are serious air systems, and some of those places, dude, those air systems look out of place. Right? Yeah. It's amazing. Unbelievable.
BubblemanHey, welcome, True. You're on mute.
TrueThat's better. I turned it down so that you didn't get the music from the background. I'm actually in HQ at the moment. So, yeah, I'm in one of the cannabis social clubs in Barcelona.
BubblemanOh shit, yeah, they've got like a mad air conditioning system in that place.
TrueYeah, it's crazy. They have to have it, it has to go to like three or four meters above the building and above the nearest building roof so that the smoke is ventilated above any neighbors.
BubblemanYeah, that's wild for sure. They dropped some serious dough on that shit, no doubt about it.
SpeakerIt's professionalizing the industry, though. It's going to have to be that we're up to the standards that other businesses are held to, realiztically. On top of that, it's the hash. The hash was also high quality at HQ. HQ seemed to be more dabber-specific. They had more different types of extraction types of hashes, whereas some others were more water hash-centric or flower-centric. It was very interesting to see all sorts of diversity, but I was very impressed with HQ and the diversity of product they had on hand.
SpeakerYou know though, can I say something I wasn't impressed with? How they were trying to turn people into extended adolescents. And they have a 21 and over policy. They're the only club that does. And I think it's stupid. The guy that was running it, I said to him, how old were you when you started smoking, honestly? And he said, 14. And I said, okay, do you think it ruined your life or do you think it made it a little bit better?
SpeakerHe said, oh, it definitely improved my life. I said, okay, so why do people have to wait until they're 21? I was like, are you just raising babies in Spain now? We're just going to wait until everybody's in their 20s before they have to grow up and they're allowed to smoke some marijuana? I was like, this is stupid. And I was like, if anything, it should go the other way.
SpeakerI was like, what are you doing with 21? I just thought it was so dumb.
TrueTo be fair, I think a lot of it is about discretion and having people that are coming and leaving the premises to be more discreet and often the younger people are a little bit more noticeable, so I find a lot of people think along those lines. But I do agree with you in essence 100%, but it is because of that gray area with the law, it kind of forces people to even second guess their own rules.
SpeakerBut I say this, and instead you could be better mentors, because they're going to smoke anyway. Don't be hypocrites fighting hypocrisy. And the reality is it's better they could come to a safe social club between the ages of 18, 19, 20, up to 21, than have to be on the streets or in there. This is the culture we're getting away from, and we really need equal rights and acceptance.
SpeakerAnd I mean, if you can drink whiskey in Spain at age 18, it's probably 16 or 14 in Spain. But Realiztically, you can't have a joint, but you can have some whiskey. This is stupid. You know, so I was a little down on HQ for that. I think that we need to grow up sooner and raise responsible children personally.
BubblemanYep, there you go. There you go.
BubblemanWell, I'm about to have a big rip now that my breakfast is complete.
SpeakerWell, we're going to go eat breakfast, so we've got to go for a while, but if y'all are going to be hanging out and just smoking... We'll come back and join you if you can.
BubblemanI think it's very likely, guys. Thanks for coming in and saying hello.
SpeakerHappy high pH. I think the chances of us smoking hash are really high. Really high. All right. Then we're going to go eat pancakes and come back. Ah, pancakes. All right. I took his bong home. Damn it. All right, guys. You guys have fun. We'll be back now. Everybody, don't look up high pH and vegetable oil.
BubblemanHey, also, let's name off the name of one of those machines, because people were asking in chat.
SpeakerHe uses a Kagan. There's also Life. They're water ionizers. They run water over a titanium plate, and they use electrolysis to basically align the molecules so that you can get alkaline and acidic water without chemicals. Yep. Yep. Kagan. Yep, Kagan or Life. Yep. The Life ionizer looks really cool. It has really deep, cool visuals. Wow. But it's all the same thing. They're all doing the same thing.
SpeakerYou just want chemical-free pH alteration. All right, we'll be back. Peace and love.
BubblemanThanks, guys. Enjoy your breakfast. We will be here puffing bowls. Well, there you go. It'll be an interesting experiment to do for some people. Raise your pH and see if you can affect the outcome of your bubble hash and the way it looks. I can't imagine it really affecting the quality as much, but it could definitely affect, I guess, how it looks in the end. I mean, I'm always like a firm believer that the resin itself, what we're doing with extracting is...
BubblemanIs isolating the resin glands from the contaminant, which will unveil the quality, but it certainly won't make the quality. The quality has already been made by the strain and the grow and the variables that were in place to get that plant.
SpeakerYeah, 90% of that's genetics.
BubblemanRight, exactly. I'd say a good solid 90% is genetics, and then a good 10%, and it's an important 10%, is the grower. You know, every little fuck-up you do, you lose a percent, and if you get down below 5%, you're certainly not going to be producing the type of resin that, you know, is setting the bar these days in the world of extractions.
BubblemanThat's what I'll say about that.
BubblemanOh, that was a nice little rip I just took.
SpeakerWhat was that?
BubblemanThat was some D420K dry sift. And I'll tell you, it's just dry sift is, I love dry sift for that very reason that it's just so boom every time you hit it, particularly good dry sift. It always has the punch. Even if you hit five or six or seven in a row, it's still going to have that punch.
SpeakerWhere do you feel it?
BubblemanThat dry sift is fairly, you know, it's very, it's OG. So it's like I feel it. In my head and I feel it like in my body. It's the same kind of stuff that literally when you hit it, it's pain relief. You just feel more sedentary than, you know, when I say I feel it in my head, it's not like a light sativa, you know, I want to go do a bunch of stuff.
BubblemanIt's more kind of like I could go watch Game of Thrones right now. But it is what it is. I'm unique in the sense that they don't affect me. Like I can tell you from smoking with people that are more affected by the different, you know, the hard-hitting, heavy, thick-leaf drug cultivars versus the narrow-leaf cultivars, the indica versus the sativa, as said in the old theories, some people are deeply affected by that.
BubblemanYou know, they're like, oh, I can smoke the sativas, but I can't smoke the indicas, and vice versa. I can smoke them both, feel their effects, but not really be Affected by them. I could smoke this all day long from morning, noon, to night, and I wouldn't, like, lose part of my day. I wouldn't have to go to sleep or anything. Whereas I do have friends, if I hit them with a hard-hitting indica like this in the morning, they would be having a fucking nap.
BubblemanThey'd get dabbed out.
SpeakerBut you've also titrated to a higher level than most people would actually self-titrate to. You have problems like both.
BubblemanYes, it is true. Just like bull. In fact, I have one more hit. Yes, one more hit we are having.
SpeakerLovely. Delicious.
BubblemanWell, that was nice to see Todd come in real quick and bring Vernon in for a little...
BubblemanA guest introduction?
SpeakerJust a great guy, humble guy, makes the best stuff. I've had some of the best stuff I've ever had he's made. And not just that, his consistency, his kindness, his willingness to share, and you know, he does it all for patients too, all the time. I mean, he does Philips prescriptions, Philips RX, stuff's world class. He's won every contest. I mean, he's got multiple cannabis cups. He's got multiple cups.
SpeakerHe's got a torch from the California one. But on top of that, he's just the nicest guy. And if you have a question, he'll be more than happy to answer it. If you want to learn, he'll be more than happy to show you. He's just straight up some of the greatest people because he's also, you know, like us, patient. And so he's realized how this has helped us and assisted us in our lives.
SpeakerSo he never forgets that and always pays it forward.
BubblemanYeah, very cool. Good to have Vern in here and finally met him face to face. He's doing the good work. It's always good when you have a good foundation like that. I've found in this sort of industry in particular, meeting all these different people who are starting these new sort of LPs and going for R&D licenses and going for just different things on a different level than People have really been accustomed to, and a lot of people are like, oh, this is no good, they're sharks, they're trying to...
BubblemanIt's like, well, okay, but just navigate, and then you bump into the odd person that's like, oh, I'm doing this because my daughter got sick, and she ended up passing away. There's people with that foundation, that story in the background. You've got to think, like, that's a fairly trustworthy source when you come from a story like Jessica's. I certainly didn't feel like she was in here lying today.
BubblemanI believed every word she said, and I could see it in her face, and I could hear it in the emotion in her voice when her voice crackled. That was just powerful stuff.
SpeakerOh, it just hit us all right in the gut. I mean, it's the forever reminder, and how many other mothers have we heard this from? That type of anguish that comes through is as genuine as it gets. I mean... You've heard your mother speak to you in that kind of tone and it's usually during a tragic or bad time. It's not happy time. So the conveyance was as pure as nature and her willingness to do anything she can.
SpeakerI mean, just what she told that policeman alone, I mean, if that doesn't hit you square between the fucking eyes, I don't know what else will. You're just an absolute heartless, compassionless, I don't I don't know what you would be, but I mean, that is, to think that you would be so callous as to block a mother to give that kind of access to that kind of child that is getting absolutely relief that you can physically see is just, again, a constant reminder why you're always improving yourself and doing the best you can.
SpeakerBubble Man, you know, always reminds us to always continue that, you know, Somebody else is out there right now suffering. Somebody right now needs a hand. Somebody needs help still. So our work is not done.
BubblemanYeah, that's for sure. That is for sure.
BubblemanIt's incredible, really, when you think about it. I think that the work's going to be quicker and quicker and quicker as the right people are sort of put in front of this Education that needs to happen of this push forward of this information because it just seems like people are still very very very stubborn and the prohibition and the propaganda is so very very powerful and rooted in the belief systems of so many different people, good people even, that just have had an improper rooting of belief system entered into their mind through prohibition.
BubblemanIt might not just even be an issue. The unfortunate thing, the sickening thing to me is to think how many people, and not just people that are suffering brutally with like obvious terrible ailments, but even people that have like, you know, much lesser things that could be taken care of just as miraculously as consumption of phytocannabinoids and essential amino acids. Things like how many cases of diabetes could have been prevented, you know, like, How many?
BubblemanDiabetes is probably, and I mean I say this mainly based on information that Dr. David Allen has shared with me as well as shared here on Hash Church, that diabetes can be prevented with phytocannabinoid intake, you know, not becoming deficient. Potentially diabetes is an endocannabinoid deficiency. Signaling is so improper that insulin no longer is produced. It's pretty powerful stuff when you think about it on that level.
BubblemanThere's a lot of people suffering even with something as simple as diabetes. How much the monetary costs just in the U.S. alone on what diabetes costs the healthcare system, it is astronomical. Especially all the weird things that diabetics end up getting from the different medicines they end up having to take and It's just all a mess, and it would be amazing to, you know, let's fix as much of it as we can.
BubblemanI'm not pretending to think that it's the only cure-all. I'm definitely certain that once people realize the importance of intake of an essential food as phytocannabinoids, and as people start to learn the quality aspect of a good extract versus a shitty extract, you understand that that's just as important to take into consideration for your own diet. When you're eating food, you should try to eat the best possible food that you can eat.
BubblemanYou know, these are issues that you have people that love making the best hash in the world, but then they just zip through McDonald's for a Big Mac and a French fries. That's not going to do the body any favors. You know, diet's just as important in all of this, especially if you're If you're suffering from a serious ailment, I know that Tony with the Act Now program, they tell people, particularly with cancers, right away that there's a specific pH of food that you can eat, and anything below that you should stay away from, and of course it's all raw fruits and vegetables.
BubblemanThis is tried and true. Even medical doctors that seemingly don't have a clue have enough of a clue to tell people who are diagnosed with cancer very often, At least here in British Columbia, to go on a raw food diet, to immediately start eating raw food because the cooked food component seems to unwittingly feed the cancer. So I'm sure it's directly related to specific types of sugars.
BubblemanI don't pretend to know exactly, but it's definitely worth checking out. Hey, welcome, Samantha. How are you doing?
SpeakerHey.
BubblemanI saw a lovely picture of you recently. I was standing with all your friends. It looked like a wedding or something. You looked like you were having a blast.
SpeakerYeah, it was my friend's wedding that I went to uni with.
BubblemanNice.
SpeakerIt was a really good time. Lovely.
BubblemanI could see it on all your faces. You guys looked like you all had a really good time. Like one of those pictures that you'll look back at 20 years from now and be like, oh yeah, that was a good one.
SpeakerYeah, it was a really lovely day. Very happy, joyful day.
BubblemanAwesome. How are things going with you?
SpeakerYeah, things are going good. Just been a bit busy and a bit hectic and just trying to get a handle on my health really. So I've kind of just been busy with that. Just trying to get on track really and try and get more pain free and It's a bit of a long, slow process, but each day I'm definitely making progress.
BubblemanAbsolutely. Well, that's awesome. Were you able to watch the earlier part of the show? Did you see Jessica's powerful story about her daughter?
SpeakerYeah, I did. It was amazing. It was amazing. It was just an unbelievable story. Phenomenal.
BubblemanYeah, well, it's stories like your story and stories like her story and many, many more that make it just seem like this has to happen way sooner than way later because, you know.
SpeakerYeah, definitely. It's disgusting that people can't get the medicine they need. Like, it upsets me every single day because every single day I wake up in pain. I know that there are thousands of people out there that, you know, it's not just me. It's It's thousands of people. It is a crime against humanity what they're doing. This is why we have to fight every day because people need this medicine.
SpeakerThey really need it.
BubblemanIt's true. I feel that in the forefront, the people that are really going to be the people to help get it done are going to be the people with the most powerful stories, the people that saw the most immediate relief, the people who saw an almost miraculous turnaround. Now those are the people that are going to be able to open the eyes in countries like the UK, in Germany, you know, those are the places that right now seemingly need the hardest push because they're moving the slowest in allowing these things to exist.
SpeakerYeah, definitely, definitely. I think there needs to be a real big push, and I urge, like, anyone out there that's got a powerful story to just come out with it, because there's no denying it. You know, like the lady earlier, you know, what she said to the policeman, like, he couldn't deny that, you know, and you can't. When you've got somebody that's got a real, you know, crazy story like that, there's no, you know, you cannot deny it, you know?
BubblemanThere's no denying it. And the incredible work that, in my opinion, is that... Just as important on the lower side of things is by your guys' stories pushing this through, it's inevitably going to help so many more people in the preventative aspect of not getting disease later in their life, as well as the recreational aspect of just being able to loosen up without slamming back nine pints and punching someone in the mouth.
BubblemanI mean, that has to be an option.
SpeakerYeah, definitely. Like, I just, I wish that I'd found cannabis earlier. Like, my life would have been very, my childhood would have been totally different if I'd had cannabis sooner, you know. We can prevent children going through pain and we're not at the minute and that is awful. We're letting children suffer because of these stupid laws. Like, it's so wrong.
BubblemanYeah, it definitely seems like one of those, just another crime against humanity. You know, how many children are allowed to not have food, who don't have clean water, and then, you know, also don't have access to an essential food source, is what I call it. It's an essential food source. You need it, it's required, it's phyto-cannabinoids, it's essential amino acids.
BubblemanThey are what breast milk is made out of. How can it not be something that we require as human beings? Whoever set all this up, whatever your belief system is, and I don't even have to get into belief systems because it could be the most religious, the least religious, the most scientific, the most atheist, I don't care. I'm just saying, whoever set this all up, whatever set this all up, set it up so that phytocannabinoids and essential amino acids were the first things that we consumed when we were born.
BubblemanGo figure. That's pretty intense. Really think about that.
SpeakerAnd that's a real part of history that needs to be learned by all.
BubblemanYeah, exactly. Welcome, Brad.
BubblemanCan't see or hear you, but we see your name and your cool logo. I like it. Welcome. Yeah, exactly. Matthew Q says, Withholding medicine from kids equals evil. True enough. Where's the hash porn? There's been hash porn all day. What are you talking about? Tony was whipping up turt mount. I don't know. Here's like a big tub of hash right here if you want. Dab that on your dab rig.
BubblemanEveryone should have this. Everyone should have one of these as if they don't. It's kind of ridiculous. It grows in fields outdoors. We don't require super high-end expensive lights and... And all these things. We can actually just plant it in fields and grow enough for everyone, I'm certain of it. As my friends in Jamaica say, Ja made it enough for everyone.
BubblemanOne today, I'm having a few different people. Marcel Braun just hit me up. Brad Higgins just finishing up the booth at the High Times Cannabis Cup. He said he's going to try and come in and Maybe talk about what he talks about. Brad's a wealth of information. It's always nice to hear him talk about lights and cannabis. How badly would you like to grow your own cannabis, Samantha?
BubblemanOr are you more interested in a situation where you could just buy a variety of kinds all prepared into incredible extracts and incredible products that you could just buy and use? Or would you like a variety of both of those things?
SpeakerI think it should be both. I think people should be able to grow their own medicine if they wish, like they can grow tomatoes in their garden, they should be able to grow cannabis, but equally people should be able to go to a shop to be able to buy it because some people just don't have the time or the inclination to garden, so it should be freely available to everyone, however they want to do that, whether it's to grow or to buy it.
BubblemanHere's another question for you. So go back to, you're 13 years old, you're getting exposed to this for the first time. Would it have been easier for your parents if it was available not only through personal use or friends or dispensaries, but if it was also available through the mainstream of pharmacy or whatnot? Do you think that that would have also made it a little bit easier to avoid that?
SpeakerYes, definitely. 100%. My mum's actually a nurse, so she's very much agrees with pharmaceuticals and is very much pro that. So I think if it was packaged more in like a pharmaceutical way, especially for her or perhaps with other people that feel more comfortable with pharmaceuticals because that's what they're used to, then yeah. Especially with dealing with kids, because I think a lot of parents can be, oh no, it's a drug, you know, so if it was, even though pharmacy schools are even worse, but yeah, I think, yeah, if it can be sold, yeah, so that it's accessible to everyone from every walk of life, it should be there.
BubblemanI agree. I want all the methods. I want everything to be available to people in all the ways that they're the most comfortable To acquire them and that includes obviously producing their own. Do I think that everyone can produce their own cannabis and beautiful perfect extracts with standards that they require? No, I don't think so and I think that those people are going to require both dispensaries that uphold standards within a reason, within the scope of their profit margin because that's really what you're profiting off of is the standards that you offer.
BubblemanYou know, the quality and the standards that you offer. That's what your profit margin is, so you base it on your standards. And then, of course, the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical models, those models generally have the highest standards, or should, and, you know, that would be these products that are extremely standardized and available to people that are like someone like that woman who came in here earlier with her daughter, Jessica Anaya, She needs a standard.
BubblemanWhen she finds something that works, she has to have access to that from now on. It can't change. It can't change. And for all we know, when we go in with a guy like Mark Scaldoni with the Proton HNMR and we get deeper and deeper and deeper and we see these levels of patterns that we didn't even know existed, you'll then realize how hard those standards will be.
BubblemanTo put into place. And so this is why these different levels exist from the dispensary to a nutraceutical to a pharmaceutical. They all have different levels of standards.
SpeakerI don't know if we're on here. Is the torch going? I see it now. You guys are in the cup, right?
BubblemanYes.
SpeakerThere we go.
BubblemanAnd let me welcome Nick, who just came in. And Nick, you're down in California. You're working at Harborside, correct? I am, yeah. How's it going? And good. And didn't you earlier tell me that you helped Jessica link up with Dave earlier?
NickNo, I would love to help her link with Jason David. Okay, that's what it was.
BubblemanSorry, because she told the story of being linked up with a guy named David who helped her get this oil.
NickOkay, yeah, no, no, that was not me, no. Jason David was one of, he was a parent of Jaden David, who's also a Dravet Syndrome patient, who has been very open with the cannabis use for four or five years now.
BubblemanOkay, okay, yes. Well, it's good to hear that people are coming out and... You know, being more open about this, particularly, you know, it's interesting after picking up Martin from, he flew in from Frankfurt yesterday into Vancouver. He is, of course, the owner of the company Roor, and he was just amazed at the looseness of Vancouver and how it was just right away that we could just smoke and then I could have stuff in the car and right away he said, you have stuff in the car, is this going to be a problem?
BubblemanI'm like, no, I have a federal license, it's not going to be a problem. I have like way less than I'm allowed. I never carry 150 grams. I
SpeakerI carry three or four or five grams maximum and maybe some edibles.
BubblemanSo I brought him some edibles. I took him to Eden, one of the dispensaries, and he looked through all the bud and all the little edibles and tinctures, and they gave him a little package with some solventless things and some chocolates and cookie and candies and whatnot. And he just kind of was like, it's so loose here. I wish it could be like this in Germany. And he said in Germany it's just so strict and people are so afraid to have everything taken away from them that no one's willing to really say anything at all about it.
BubblemanSo in my opinion it's really going to be people, you know, like yourself, Samantha, people like Jessica and Naya, these incredibly powerful stories that are going to be the way that no one, even the most hardened, like brutal, mean, you know, soulless German cop, Still, what is he going to say to Jessica when she says, do you have children? How would you like to watch them die and suffer?
BubblemanHow would you like to do that? Wow, that's quite a statement to make. I can't imagine any human being standing against that statement.
SpeakerI really can't.
BubblemanIt's incredible.
BubblemanBongrips, Nick Brady, Bradley's hitting it up. I think I'm going to do it as well.
BubblemanYes, they're both Martin though. It's his company name. Todd Berner. It's just different partners. Alright, so it's time for a diabola. Maybe a little Horatio 7 star.
NickSo Mark, when are you going to influence the Roar Mothership collab?
BubblemanWell, you know what? I have no real influence with mothership, unfortunately. Back in the day, I did manage to have Scott Deppie in a glass show back in the day. With Slinger, I did a show called Degenerate Art at my gallery in 2004 and 2005. One was degenerate, one was regenerate. Scott was in the show. He had a beautiful piece. I loved it. I actually wanted to buy it.
BubblemanI kind of worked out a trade. And then it ended up being later more of a trade, so we kind of were like, oh, that's, you know, I didn't, I don't want to pay more than the trade was, you know, that sort of situation. So I sent the pipe back, he sent the bags back, and we've just pretty much had zero relationship ever since. It's been one of those experiences.
BubblemanHe's one guy I literally don't know at all. I love his pipes, but I have no... Thanks for the rip Horatio.
SpeakerThis stuff makes me sleepy. It's nighttime dabs, but... For you.
BubblemanThere's no doubt about it, it's strong as fuck, I'll tell you that much. Hey, welcome, Brad. Sorry I muted you there when you first came in. It was pretty loud. But welcome, guys. You're at the cup, at your booth, with the lights going.
BubblemanAnd the budding plants.
BubblemanThat's awesome.
BubblemanVery cool. Good to see that True is offering some kindness to Samantha, some help. Let's just help each other. I mean, holy shit. Isn't that what our grandmother said? Be nice and help people.
BubblemanSlinger Egg, yeah, Slinger Egg would be nice. Slinger definitely knows Scott. Who knows, I suspect Scott will do what Scott does. Whatever he does, people will love. Everything that comes out of that mothership camp is just ridiculous.
BubblemanDo Terps have similar effects as Resin? Well, I would say that Terps... Our modulators to the resin, to the cannabinoid profile, they definitely affect and change the effects of how you feel, the effects of whether you've orally consumed or vaporized cannabis or cannabis extracts, terps. You don't have to add them for that to happen because they are already present. They grow in the plant. They are one of the root compounds that are producing the entire cannabinoid profile.
BubblemanPhenols and terpenes. That's it. Phenol and terpenes. Martin Berzel, we're going to hopefully see him today. I'm not sure what's going on. I don't think I've... They haven't asked me for the address yet.
BubblemanIt would be cool to see them show up. I saw him yesterday for the first time ever in Vancouver and it was definitely like good fun. I was all excited like a little kid. In fact, how's this? When you pick up your buddy, you've known for damn near 20 years. This is how I picked him up at the airport. He really liked it. Of course it disappeared.
BubblemanLet me get that back.
SpeakerWe'll find it.
BubblemanThis is classic. Everyone was standing around with names. They had these big, you know, everyone had their signs. So I stood there like this with my phone up, like all up high among all these people in the airport, like so many people. And when he saw this, man, I'll tell you, he was smiling.
BubblemanAbsolutely.
BubblemanCannabis cuppers doing their thing. Evil ashes in the house somewhere. I would have liked to have made it to Denver for the Cannabis Cup. Geez, I would have liked to have made it to California for the Secret Cup and the Secret Sessions, but... Can't be everywhere. Gotta be in Vancouver. My city, city that I live at least closest to out of all these places.
NickAnd, uh... Are you at the Secret Cup tonight?
SpeakerUh, I just did the thing the other night, um... It was pretty cool, though. And then we went to the secret sesh after that. But I think, yeah, I think I'm just going to chill.
NickYeah, I got Mike coming down. We're actually taking off in about 15 minutes, heading up to Tracy.
SpeakerYeah, it's a little ways out, so I was just kind of chilling. Let me know how it goes. It looks like it's going to be fun, though.
NickYeah, if it's anything like it was last night, it's going to be a ball.
SpeakerYeah, last night we had Lauren's birthday, so we had to go kind of deal with the cake stuff and all that other fun stuff, so you know how it goes.
BubblemanThat's how it goes. 600 people tuned in, watching Hash Church. 587 to be exact, but we can, we should always bring up the people with the hateful, mean comments. Horatio, this one's for you. What do you think it is? What do you think it is, buddy? Do you want to go out on a limb? It's Bang Skateboards. Bang Skateboards has decided what he's going to share here at Hash Church with all these powerful stories and education and sharing.
BubblemanWhat he's getting out of it is to share a hateful, mean comment to you, Horatio. So I wanted to make sure we took a moment and stopped and said, Horatio still vaping garbage. Well, thank you, Bang Skateboards. We superly appreciate all that you've offered here at Hash Church. We're definitely going to put you on the list to come in to be on the panel because, I mean, I think your story, your content that you've offered is as powerful as anything that's been shared here today in Hash Church.
BubblemanSo we thank you for that, and we probably won't be talking anymore in the future. I think there's a show, a future show. I got the idea, really. I jacked it from Jimmy Kimmel, who does this thing where he gets famous people to read terribly mean tweets that they've written. And it's so brilliant when you see the person that's about actually reading it, you realize how sociopathic and how insane it is to even type something like that.
BubblemanEven if you think of it as a joke, it's just like, why do you want to be mean?
BubblemanYes, exactly, Brian. Horatio is doing great things. There you go. That's nice.
SpeakerHe knows I can't read the chat and do the show, but he's going to legislate and make sure that everyone who's found a way to transition out of the tobacco system is shot and put in a ditch. I don't know what he wants me to do with my life. He doesn't care what it helps me manage. It's about how he wants me to live, so... You know, let's give him some power and let's put Hitler back on top.
BubblemanOh, fuck. I'll tell you, people in this chat sure are enjoying the troll roast for real. They've just coined the term hero-atio.
BubblemanLove it. What's that? Love it. Yeah, fuck the haters. It's all good. You know what? I don't even hate the haters. He's probably just like, you know what? Just say something nice and you're welcome. You're welcome back. Just say something nice. Be nice. If you don't have something nice to say, I swear to God, it doesn't even matter what culture you come from. Every grandmother has said this.
BubblemanIf you don't have something nice to say, then don't say anything.
BubblemanWell, all right. Jay Ziggy, I guess you are gone. There you go.
BubblemanBoom. Better get the band hammer out every once in a while. Yes, I would love to see Roar make a recycler as well. Wouldn't that be nice? I was talking to Martin today, and here's an interesting thing. I had a conversation with him yesterday. We did a little video. And he's really more of a joint guy, to be honest. And so I was telling him, like, try a dab, try a dab.
BubblemanAnd he's like, oh, I'm not really into this dab thing, you know, this dab culture. It's just not really something that he sees. It gets him too high. He doesn't smoke that level. And I sort of, you know, I've discovered this over the years that there's sort of like part of this culture of dabbing and before it even was called dabbing and before even bubble bags and water hash existed in the mid-90s when we were making the red oil and the honey oil and dabbing that, but dabbing it off of basically a hot fucking, you know, knife or spoon or whatever bent over a torch.
BubblemanOld school, terrible style. Still doing the best that we could do, but we were hitting that, and yeah, just not sure where I was going with that story. I got pretty stoned there. Darn, it was a good one. Oh, it was in regards to how we used to annihilate people, and Breeders Steve got into it. He loved just destroying people with huge dabs, and it seems like it's never gone away.
BubblemanIt's still... Everyone wants to give the kind of dab that they take. It's kind of there's this unseen ego and being able to take the biggest dab. And so in that, what is produced is the fear of people wanting to try to dab but that need a micro dose. They literally need like one one hundredth of what people are hitting as just their medium sized dab. And they're too embarrassed or no one is facilitating it to happen.
BubblemanYou know, instead people are like, oh, what are you going to do with that? Like, fuck, that's not even, come on, give him a real hit, man, come on. It's like, no, no, no, no, there's like, nobody needs a real hit. So yesterday I dabbed many times with just micro doses of Dry Sift. And of course he loved it. You know, of course it was a nice, enjoyable experience that was more on par with the high that he would get off smoking a spliff rather than, you know, by smoking 10 or 20 spliffs, which is what he would feel if you gave him a giant dab.
BubblemanSo it's nice to be able to facilitate particularly new people. Let's start them really small and dab them up until they feel, you know, don't look to give them this experience that is this overwhelming, I'm too high, cough, cough, cough, cough, cough. That's not the way we want to introduce people to something that should be enjoyable. At least that's my perspective, my... Yeah, you can call them what you want, Connor, but, you know, microdabs, microdabs have their place with people who want to just learn about this, want to have a nice experience without, well, it's the equivalent of giving someone with, like, a gram of dry sift in it or something.
BubblemanIt's like, hey, have you ever tried edibles? No? Well, you should try this one. This one right here, this'll, you'll really like it. It's great for a first timer. It's like, well, you know, no it isn't.
SpeakerThat wasn't the truth. That's way too much. That's like giving somebody a straight shot of Everclear.
BubblemanThat's what I'm saying. Or not even a straight shot, like a bloody Mickey. Here, just drink this. You might go blind.
BubblemanAnd I don't mind people that love big dabs. I respect them too. Dab away. I support you in dabbing the largest sort of dabs you want to dab. But don't Gauge what is normal based on what you like to do. Base what is normal on the reality of like most people who have never tried this before, they should be given microdabs so that you can lead them into a nice experience.
BubblemanIf they want, I mean, hey, keep going, keep climbing. You can get to where you would have gotten had I given you one big one by just taking three or four or five small ones. That's for sure. Whatever happened to Hash Bean 420? Well, I don't know. I'm not sure what happened to Hash Bean. I'll have to send him an email and see what's going on. I'm sure he's busy.
BubblemanI haven't seen him in a while at any of the shows and stuff. He used to come all the time to all the shows. Now there's a guy that can take a dab. What a fiend.
BubblemanPeople in chat just chatting away there. I don't know if the rest of you guys and girls have the YouTube chat open, but there's always a large conversation going on in there. People talking about different things. My first dab felt like my first joint, or my first puff of a joint. There you go. Micro dabs all day long in France.
BubblemanThere you go. Dry sift. Bless up. Right on. Got another nice group. Who's visiting at the booth there? Oh, that's Evil Ash. Booyatron. What's up, buddy? I muted you. Do you want me to unmute you guys so we can hear your loudness?
BubblemanCan't hear you still. Even though you seem to be unmuted now.
SpeakerOh, wait. Can you hear us?
BubblemanYeah, now we can. How's it going, guys?
SpeakerCan you hear me? Does anybody can hear you?
BubblemanWhat's up, Ash? We can hear you.
SpeakerOh, fuck. How's it going, buddy?
BubblemanI'm still in jail. How's the cannabis cup?
SpeakerUm, you know, the usual hectic headache, you know. People bumping into each other, you know. I met a few people while I've been here. A Soil guy that wants to do business with us and a few other people.
SpeakerPeople are real hyped about that cherry afghan we're releasing, too. Oh, really? Yeah. Tell me more about it. It's a cherry afghan skunk. All of our F1s are tested between 20 to 1 and 78 to 1 CBD to PHD ratio.
BubblemanDipples.
SpeakerThat's exciting. I mean, it yields like 20% on a whole plant extraction, which is also pretty good. It's the same cherry that last year Nick at T did a solvent lift up. Okay, yeah, yeah. So, I mean, it's pretty effective. I mean, we, a girl in South Carolina got it, and she went seizureless for the six weeks that she had it. And then she got an R4 back trough and went immediately back to seizing.
SpeakerWow. Can you see my Nigerian over there? Is that what that is? Yeah, the more afghan looking one is the Gorilla Glue 4, but the other one on the side that's, you know, lanky is that Nigerian silk cut that we have.
SpeakerIt's looking pretty nice. But yeah, on our cherries, we've had 26 different phenols tested out of the ones that we're releasing. And only one of them tested over 1% THC. Oh, shit. And we have a whole bunch that are in that 0.3% that could be considered hemp in the U.S. So that's the main reason why we're releasing it, you know?
BubblemanWell, we should put you in touch with Jessica, who was in here earlier telling her story.
SpeakerI figured she might look.
BubblemanGet people all linked up, that's what I'm saying.
SpeakerSo yeah, um, 315 ceramic, everything that we've, everything that we're following right now is under ceramic. Um, the resin is insane. Cheese and Chops, that's UK cheese cropped with KCG, and that is pineapple grenade.
BubblemanEveryone's loving that Gorilla Glue.
SpeakerYeah, have you had it?
BubblemanI've had it, yeah, I've had the extract of it, like full melt, water hash.
SpeakerYeah, well you also have the extract from Congolese.
BubblemanI know, I was smoking some of that yesterday. Actually, there's a plant right here hanging, you can't really see it. Just a little one.
SpeakerAnd it is a Congolese. It doesn't matter if there's only a quarter ounce on that plant. It's still the Congolese.
BubblemanYep, exactly.
SpeakerI mean, it's the same reason why... I try to tell people that are down on bog sour bubble. I'm like, dude, I don't care if a plant only yields an ounce. Have you ever smoked a sour bubble? I mean, you know, like, it's there. Like, the really good weed usually doesn't yield as much. It's spending too much energy making it bank.
BubblemanIt's true. Those are definitely two relationships that took different turns when they did this prohibition-based mentality of growing. How much can I get and how fast can I get it? Yeah, there's a reason why so many people in your neighborhood got rich off those jammers. You know, anything that yields and looks frosty, whether it's good or not.
SpeakerGood enough. Can you hand him my backpack over there, bud?
BubblemanOh, your camera's tripping, Horatio. It looks like it's on like a loop of you like dipping in and out of the camera.
SpeakerSo I've seen you on the Facebook, and since I'm a... It's kind of going legit. I tried to send you a request, which is just too popular.
BubblemanI have like 2,000 or whatever the maximum amount of requests is that you can get.
SpeakerYeah. It wouldn't even let me send one, so now I'm a lowly follower.
BubblemanYeah, I know. I didn't understand Facebook at first when I signed up. I didn't realize accepting everyone as my friend meant that they would like it. I didn't know what that even meant. I didn't realize there was a difference between friend and following. That's why I'm so insane because there's 5,000 people's shit in my feed. I could spend the whole day just unfriending people that have weird shit in their feed.
SpeakerI bet you've unfollowed half the people on your friends list for sure, huh?
BubblemanWell, no, because they keep showing up. Like, every time I unfollow one, another one pops in.
SpeakerIt's a never-ending... This is a cherry. It's the only, like, thing that I've seen that legally classifies as hemp that actually grows like a real afghan. I mean, look at how dense and nuggety it is. You know what I mean? Yeah. Smells so cherry. Oh, my God.
SpeakerAnd I wouldn't say I'd come up there and share a sample with you, but unfortunately after my court case, your government's no longer going to allow me in your country.
BubblemanYeah, they have a thing against felony charges. Both sides of the border doesn't like that.
SpeakerYeah, I know, it sucks. That means I won't be able to come up there and bust Green Supreme's balls about why he never sent me that fucking con release.
BubblemanOh my god, you don't want to go into that.
SpeakerOh no, I do. I went into Pot TV one day and just started busting his balls about it. He's like, ah, I don't want to fucking talk about it. Ah. And I'm like, buddy, I still love you. Calm down. It's okay. If you want my Nigerian, you can have it. I don't care.
BubblemanAaron, he's caring. We've got a whole crew of people behind you right now, dude.
SpeakerOh, yeah, you know. I mean, that's all it is. I moved all the backpacks from behind over here.
BubblemanCannabis cupping. It's nice to have a little... It's like we have a booth at the Cannabis Cup. Hash Church always has a booth at all the cups. We'll be at the Super Cup later. We'll be at...
SpeakerYeah, I figured Tony would be down here doing something.
BubblemanHe isn't down there right now? Of course, he's got like eight booths.
SpeakerYeah, I mean, I don't know. I don't know him that well. You know, I've only run into him at Adam Dunn's spot when I'm hanging out with Dunn.
BubblemanSo what seed company are you selling those strains under? Strainleaks.com. Brainleaf.com, Evan P. I'm not sure if it's Brad's company or Ash's company, but that's the one that you can get those strains that he was talking about.
SpeakerYeah, we decided that we were only going to launch the cherries. We're doing a bunch of PHP things right now, but... We're not going to release anything until the first batch of seeds has been grown out and tested, like we did with the cherries. Right. Because A, we like test results, and B, we want to make sure that our shit's not hermy crap and it actually has a good germination rate, you know?
SpeakerProbably a good idea. Yeah, I wish more people did that, actually. It's kind of depressing how many people just like pollen chuck and then just sell all the seeds without even knowing, you know?
SpeakerThat's not to say we're not pollen chucker. I mean, you know, we kind of are.
BubblemanYou know what would be cool? If you had to document how many seeds you did your selections for. So every company, if they had to be like, yeah, we planted like, you know, ideally what you'd want to hear is like 100,000. But then if it, you know, anything below that, it's just like it lets you know what they're dealing with. That's the most important thing. What was the gene pool they started with?
BubblemanYou know what I mean? Like, was it 1,000? Was it 100? Was it 10? Was it 5? Was it 1?
SpeakerWell, that's what we started with. We had one really rare, unusual phenol that tested at 14.5% CBD, 4.5% CBG.
SpeakerAnd less than .7 THC. And so we felt that. We've sent out a bunch of beans for people to do test grows, but we have personally grown out and tested 26 different phenols. And they were all in that same range, except one spiked over 1% THC. Most of them are around .3 though.
SpeakerAnd we just decided to release them after having tested those, you know. But we've isolated four that we are doing F2s and F1 back crosses with. So then we're going to continue to do that, isolate a select group of them and continue to self those until we get to the stabilized, to where they're as stable as we want them. We figure by F4 or F6 they should be where we want them.
BubblemanWell, you know, it's a long, long road that brings traits into cannabis.
SpeakerYeah.
SpeakerWell, you know, it's like Tom Hill says, you know, whether you pop a thousand seeds or twenty, you know, if you pop twenty, then you should isolate the five best lines, you know, work from them, and then pop another twenty of those and isolate the best five out of those and continue Until you get to where you're stabilized, you know?
BubblemanIndeed. I can't wait until we start our project in Jamaica. This is something I'm very excited to be part of is helping get us a stronger strain to grow in Jamaica. Something that's not hybridized to the shit where it can only grow indoors and it can no longer There's a big problem with cannabis today is it's all bred for indoor growth.
SpeakerOh, all of ours are outdoor.
BubblemanYeah, no, I understand. I just mean generally, like most cannabis is bred for indoor growth.
SpeakerOh, yeah, for sure, for sure. And it doesn't react well to outdoor life, you know. It's just too intense. It fries it out. I mean, there are a lot of...
BubblemanEven worse, it's been bred for all the wrong reasons and it won't hold any strength. It has no molds and mildews destroy it. Bugs are attracted to it. It's like a kitten out in the jungle instead of a lion.
SpeakerYeah, it totally doesn't because we've isolated certain terpenes. It doesn't have its natural defense mechanism of certain terpenes to attract predators or whatever it is that's destroying it. You know, like plants in the wild. Yep, absolutely. Yeah, I completely agree with that, 100%. And I mean, and that's the other thing, is we tested some of our cherries outside, and we tested them inside, and it was completely opposite results.
SpeakerThe phenols that did phenomenal outside yielded almost nothing inside, and vice versa, you know. But the ones that yielded well for extraction... Yielded well for extraction in both instances.
BubblemanOh, just more people in chat, chatting away, talking. Talking about Horatio and his delimited extract. People are really just tripped out about that. I think that they just had no idea what that was all about. Yeah. Didn't really... I think it surprised them, Horatio, to say the least.
SpeakerYeah, we grew up at Charlotte's Web. And actually, the extract from it is actually very good, which I really hate to say because I'm kind of down on the family. But it still only yielded 5% from an extraction standpoint. And when we got it tested... The numbers they throw out are completely false. Like, it was a 2 to 1 THC to CBD with barely over 5% total resin.
BubblemanWell, labs are labs, right? If you take them into three different labs often, you'll get three different sets of numbers. That's kind of more on labs than, you know, if you were to test someone's product that they had tested at one lab and you do a test at another lab, not a lab.
SpeakerWe've actually had four different labs test our terriers. Awesome. Just so we know, you know. We heard stories of a couple guys that just write down numbers and then smoke the samples and crap like that. So we really wanted to make sure that our numbers were legit, you know.
BubblemanWell, you know what's more important than numbers, Ash, is you just get patients using the product, and that's really more important than extraction ratios and flowering times and how much better it is or worse it is than someone else's. What's really important is that people are using it and being helped by it. That's the most important thing.
SpeakerYeah, I mean, we did that R4 back cross of Wu5, and it yielded pretty well for resin. Same with the ACDC, but neither one of those actually helped stop this little girl's seizures. You know, like it just wasn't effective medicine. For her. And that's, yeah, as far as the cherries, that's what we're most concerned with, you know. Hey, welcome back, Johnny B. Oh, there he is.
BubblemanNo, it's like a picture, I think.
SpeakerIt's definitely about how effective it is. I knew the first time I took a dab of the cherry, when I felt the hot flesh shoot down my spine and my joints lightly numb, I knew immediately that that was going to be good for my sciatica, you know, my pinched nerve. I knew immediately that that was what I wanted.
BubblemanTriple threats?
SpeakerWhat are some triple threats in that?
SpeakerYou're on mute, Jimmy B. I think the difference is maybe that it was bred from actual afghan instead of like being bred from something that was hemp just because it has CBD and doesn't have any of the other active catalysts, you know?
SpeakerThat's just a poor man's opinion, though. I don't have any science to back that up.
BubblemanWell, we had our scientist in here earlier, but he's not here anymore.
SpeakerYeah, I would have loved to hear his opinion about that.
BubblemanCan you mute your mic when you're not talking, Ash? Just because it's really loud in the background.
SpeakerOkay. All right, bud. I just want to...
SpeakerShow you how clean the cherry oil is quick. I know you're not into oil and whatnot, but it's very clean. And where is the mute?
BubblemanWell, I've got my delimiting oil from Horatio. This is also very clear and gold. I'd have to squeeze it out.
SpeakerOh, there's a little bit. What is the consistency of it?
BubblemanOh, like kind of taffy, sticky, stacky. Picks up off the oils look real nice. What is the color? Etienne, it's the color. Here's the color right here.
SpeakerI know, Horatio. I was just trying to be the sidekick there and just kind of let everybody who may not be aware of what is.
SpeakerVery beautiful.
BubblemanAnd next on QVC we have... Dabs, dabs of LHO. We'll be dabbing the LHO out of the mothership Fabergé egg.
BubblemanYou got the drop down on there right away, ATN? You're all over this. You got a denail for each mothership or are you switching? One for each? You're a professional. Not gonna lie, he's a professional.
SpeakerWell, you know, you got it all likewise.
BubblemanJohnny B came in and waved and then that was it. He was gone. He was just like, I just wanted my empty kitchen ceiling to be on Hash Church today.
BubblemanJohn's super busy today. I know he's got a lot to do. He has to go pick up his stuff and set up a booth and this, that, and the other thing, get all ready for the big day tomorrow for his big 420 day. He takes that 420 seriously. I'll probably head down and take some pictures, maybe do some bong rips. Haven't really figured it out yet. Maybe I'll bring my mom, who spent, I don't know, 25 years working for Winnipeg Police as the head of the 911 communications.
BubblemanMaybe I'll bring her down to 420 day and just expose her to the most ridiculous. Vancouver 420 is hardcore. There's literally like, it's just right in your face, so much like Like 300 or 400 coffee shops just opened up on the street and started selling herb and hash and edibles and I mean it really is just kind of like a free for all. And I guess the police are all just standing around.
BubblemanThey don't even care. I got pictures of people holding huge bags like joints for sale signs and like yelling out the top of their lungs, got brownies for sale. It's pretty ridiculous.
BubblemanThank you for watching.
BubblemanA 420 link come up in the live events, then click on it. I'll also put it on my Facebook if it can happen. I might have friends with hotel rooms right across from the event, and if I can just get up there, have a nice view of the event down there, maybe even run it off of my phone. I might be able to do a hot spot with my phone and walk around with the laptop introducing you guys to people.
BubblemanCould be kind of fun. Could be kind of fun.
SpeakerSo, B-Man, if you ever do the farmer's grade hash competition where you sift it and everybody smokes it, I totally want it. Just saying.
BubblemanYeah, that was a utopian dream. I don't know. I always like to come up with fun ideas, but it seems like the things I'm most focused on are much more, I don't know, like just I'm not as focused on contests and I love the idea of the gathering but right now really most of my focus is going into Jamaica. We're trying to set up our studies with the University of West Indies.
BubblemanWe've signed LOIs with the Scientific Review Committee and we're going to try and move things forward there through different avenues and I think it's just a more important place for me to put my focus on right now.
SpeakerYeah, we have...
SpeakerSorry? A doctor of some kind, and...
BubblemanSorry? You missed that.
BubblemanWas I the only one that missed that, or... No, I missed that too.
SpeakerOh, I'm sorry. I said that, uh... We had an offer to go down to Jamaica and work with a doctor that has like 80 acres. I don't know, I think he might have contacted somebody else. It was something that Dunn was trying to set up for us to work with the Cherries.
BubblemanOh yeah, well there will be lots of people working in Jamaica. I don't think it will be very difficult to get in touch with people in Jamaica in the next couple of years once all the companies, once everything settles down with the gazetting of the law. Once the companies receive their licensing, I don't believe anyone's received licensing, I don't believe licensing even exists as of yet, but the law and the amendment to the law does exist, it has been passed, it has been gazetted into the books, so it'll be interesting to see how this goes in the next, I'd say year to two years, just to see how the cards fall, which, you know, what happens with licensing, I think Jamaica's license system is going to be multi-dimensional as well, because Although you have companies that, you know, even local companies like Dr. Henry Lowe, his company is Medicanja, even for him to acquire a license to do, you know, like one of the bigger companies trying to produce extracts and products, you're still going to have to have licensing available for the growers and the farmers who are going to be required to, you know, obviously grow under licensing, have permission.
BubblemanYou'll have to have people have licensing for the transportation of the product because the processing plants won't guaranteed be right next to all the fields.
SpeakerIt's impossible because the fields are all over Jamaica, thousands of hectares of it.
BubblemanAnd so you'll need licensing for all of these different things. So there'll be many, many levels of licenses. I suspect there'll be a license when you come into the country like there is on a cruise ship, a head tax where you just get a smoker's license. That license allows you to Possess everywhere on the license, but it allows you to smoke in certain spots, and those certain spots, I would guess, this is all me guessing, based on things they publicly released in the newspaper, I would guess that they will also have licenses for the places and the establishments to decide where you can burn this.
BubblemanAnd being Jamaica, it'll be everywhere. You'd be insane not to have a license to allow people to consume cannabis everywhere. At your establishment, whether it be a restaurant or a hotel or any of the tour adventures, anything, if you let people smoke cannabis, they're going to be very happy about it. So these are great ways to raise money for Jamaica as a country, potentially build them hospitals and old age homes and orphanages and all the sort of important aspects that let's just say are not currently being taken care of the way that they could potentially being taken care of because of the situation of the country and how How they're stuck in poverty.
BubblemanI think it really could help the country out on a mass scale. It'll be interesting to see.
SpeakerCNN is doing an expose on my Nigerian right now.
BubblemanWell, dude, you should go hit those guys up and tell us all about it another time. Well, thank you for coming into Hash Church and sharing your stories with us. We're at 550 people strong right now. And we've got 30 to 40 minutes left of Hash Church for today. And yeah, thanks everyone for coming out.
SpeakerAll right, bud. I'll probably catch you on your forums. I know I love you.
BubblemanI want to thank everyone for coming out today. I'm not ending it just yet, but definitely want to thank Jessica for coming in earlier. Thank Mark Scaldoni for setting that up. He's been helping Jessica. And thank Naya for being such a trooper and for being such a wonderful face for medical cannabis. That's just wonderful to see people have powerful stories that are undeniable. That's really more of my focus today.
BubblemanFor Hash Church, I want that to be the focus more than, you know, anyone's product or anyone's thing that they're personally trying to like flog or sell. I want us to always go back to really why Hash Church was started to like bring in as many inspirational stories. And I say this to you, the panel, you know, you guys want to come into Hash Church and I want to have you guys in the Hash Church.
BubblemanBut, you know, let's find as many of these inspirational stories as we can and bring them some light. Because we actually have the ability with this small amount of traction that this particular show gets that 10, 12, 15,000 people can see these stories. And it's fairly important for them to get that word out. I'm happy to use Hash Church exclusively as a vehicle to give exposure to people that are in that situation.
BubblemanPeople with powerful colors that are a wonderful voice and face of the medicinal aspects of cannabis. Like Todd McCormick.
BubblemanYou're on mute now. You just muted yourself.
SpeakerSorry, I didn't mean to mute myself.
BubblemanThat's okay.
SpeakerBeautiful blue halo, guys. And girls.
BubblemanLittle blue halo?
SpeakerIt's gorgeous. How is it growing, Todd? On Earth? I'm kidding. It's hydro. Brennan said it's hydro. Looks very alive. I used to, as a child, I used to say, it's Alaskan snow bud. It's grown in the aromatic caves of Alaska. My friends would say, really?
BubblemanOh, yeah, really? Really? It reminded me when you showed it to me, to be honest, when you held it up at first, it looked like the old BC hash plant, a.k.a. the champagne.
SpeakerOh, I know the structure you mean. It's this. Wait a minute. It's this structure. You know what else does this? It's Casey Jones too. They kind of spindles up in week 10 or so, 9, 10. It kind of has these little, almost like little crowns on it going around it. Yeah, it's nice and long. It's a nice bud though, I will say. I am going to burn the evidence.
BubblemanBurn it.
SpeakerWe are.
BubblemanWe've had a nice group of people come flow through today for the 30th episode of Hash Church.
SpeakerReally? Wow, that's a cool milestone. Well, I wish you 30 more happy episodes of Hash Church, Mark.
BubblemanAbsolutely.
SpeakerI think what you're doing is great. Sharing the information and bringing the community together is really what we need. Culture is going to be the new Commodity and cannabis, I believe.
SpeakerBringing it together, that is.
BubblemanIt's definitely something. All these things going on at all times. Remember when it was a cup and that's all that was happening that weekend? Just that cup?
SpeakerYeah, well, when we were hanging out there, there was really no 420. In 94, we weren't really using it to the degree we use it now. No, it was just a joke among friends back then. Right, it was almost a deadhead joke, really.
BubblemanI remember in Vancouver, it was this girl, Dana, and she used to work for Mark Emery at Hemp BC, and this might be 94, 93, 92, I can't remember. I just remember her saying, we want to have a celebration on 420. And being like, and getting money and raising money, I can't remember now if it was 420 or if it was... July 1st. It was one of those two dates.
BubblemanI'm thinking 420, though. And it's happened in Vancouver ever since, and it was very, very small for the first years. It used to be at Grassy Jack in the Gastown area. There's a statue of this guy, Grassy Jack, and that's where we'd all do it. And, yeah, it ended up moving to the art gallery, but it's big. I mean, ours is tomorrow, and it will be, like, When I, I'll post the picture, it'll be literally right in front of our art gallery, I'll go across the street and take a photo from the top floor of the hotel, and it will be literally like, I don't even know, how many thousands of people, Horatio?
SpeakerWhat is it, 30, 40 thousand? Because I mean, I've seen that, last year we had that helicopter view that the camera went up, and I mean, it was bodies, you know, until all the streets were filled.
BubblemanWell, and that was just one side of the thing. You can't even see on the other side of the art gallery where there's tons of people there, too.
SpeakerWow, that's fantastic. You know, this is, everybody watching this, you know, if you're show promoters and you put together parties, now's the time to start really thinking about cannabis users as a demographic, a socially responsible demographic that comes, does not make a mess, spends money, eats food, has fun, is very polite and entertaining to host. Really, I mean, just like we have an alcohol culture and people go out and they expect booze at parties, it would be so much more pleasant now if we could come to a place where people could come in and dab and smoke joints and smoke hash, relax, not have to drink.
SpeakerAnd this is really where I think secret sessions, secret cups, and these small events that are really geared towards us, the user, the connoisseur, the aficionado, however you want to call it, you know, the enthusiast really, It's freaking fantastic.
BubblemanIt really is. I mean, it's like as a business owner, you look at that demographic and think, this is a good demographic to pull in.
SpeakerThat's right. They got money and they're educated, you know. It's super multicultural. We can smoke weed all night. We're not going to act like buffoons at 2 a.m., you know. It's a completely different atmosphere.
BubblemanHey, welcome back there, Marcel and Jessica. Oh, we just lost them. That was Marcel Braun, the glassblower. He was in Hash Church last year. He is obviously a legend in the world of glassblowing. Hopefully he makes it back. There's Hedy over at Johnny B's. I know he says hi, even though we can't hear him say hi. Where is he from? Marcel and Jessica back in the hallway.
BubblemanI'm like, hey, welcome guys, and you guys were like, Splitsville, we're out of here. No! How's it going? It's going very good, man. We're talking about the beautiful demographic that if you were, say, someone throwing a festival, The pot smoker demographic, Todd was just going on about what a great demographic that would be to bring forward. They're responsible, spend money, don't leave a mess, conscious, non-violent. I think there was quite a few other things he had mentioned, but that's kind of what we were talking about just now.
BubblemanThe cannabis user as a demographic to, you know, whether it's a festival or some other sort of gathering, It's a good demographic to bring forward. Oversay, well, for instance, I was talking to Martin from Ruhr. He's in from Germany here in Vancouver. And I'm hoping he's going to make it to my house here sooner than later if he's still coming. But he was talking about in Germany how last year at the, what's the beer festival called?
BubblemanThe beer festival in Germany? Oktoberfest? Bingo. Oktoberfest. He was saying 1,800 people suffered from alcohol poisoning. Now I can't remember if he said that was every single day, but it was outrageous whatever it was. It was like thousands of people getting like hardcore hospitalization, almost dying from alcohol. And of course he said people do die as well. That's just a lower number. And that's just like a standard.
BubblemanThat's just like, of course we're going to go to Oktoberfest. Of course I'm going to drink 20 pints of beer. Of course I'm going to dislocate my girlfriend's jaw. Like, come on, dude. It's Oktoberfest. Maybe she's going to dislocate my jaw. Like, whatever. It's all even. I just think it's insane that people accept that as a normal thing that you could just Have a festival of beer and just have people getting so wasted and puking and fighting and that just sounds like my worst nightmare.
BubblemanThat is my worst nightmare at the festival.
SpeakerThere's such a big drinking culture over here, especially in England. In the summer there's loads of beer and cider festivals and stuff like that. But every Friday, Saturday night over here, it is disgusting. If you go out into city centers and see society, it is disgusting. The state that people get in is absolute carnage. It's awful.
BubblemanYeah, I grew up myself in what I would call an incubator of alcoholics. The city that I grew up in seemed to like to abuse alcohol to a certain degree, and it was all around me. Not so much in my family life, but definitely all my friends in high school and even junior high. People were just drinking insane amounts of alcohol. In fact, when I was in junior high, very, very young, We had a thing that had happened where some junior high kids from my school broke into a garage and drank like a quart or whatever, you know, four liters is like a gallon of this clear liquid that was in a vodka bottle, but it ended up being like some antifreeze type shit and one of them went blind and one of them died and all of them ended up in the hospital.
BubblemanIt was like seriously bad shit and I just remember that being like, Just kind of, it just happened, oh well, yeah, whatever, every weekend still, everyone's just going to drink alcohol, and of course it's not available to kids that age, so they're forced to go out and like, because it's so cool and you have to drink alcohol, that you need to break into some sketch bag's house, or his garage, who's keeping his antifreeze in a vodka bottle.
SpeakerYou know, the bigger thing is, too, is the hypocrisy that there's no alarm or concern that the kids could be that irresponsible with something so commonly found, but then they'll say that we're going to take away this other substance, which scientifically isn't harmful, but we're going to take it away just because. And I really think, and I've been saying this to more people, that we need to demand equal rights in the cannabis world and stop arguing for lesser rights.
SpeakerI can't wait until cannabis is under $10 an ounce so that people can experience good quality cannabis in abundance and they're not forced to drink or smoke cigarettes or anything that's cheap and harmful to their health. I think the world would be inevitably a better place if it was cannabis on Friday nights instead of alcohol that was being widely consumed all around the world from tiki bars all the way up to caves in Alaska.
SpeakerIt has to change like that. I was reading a statistic that Jack Daniels is now 1,700 acres in size and does 119 million bottles a year, something like 350 bottles of whiskey a minute. And why can't we produce cannabis on that level? I mean, where's the harm?
BubblemanWell, because it doesn't open portholes to health. Unfortunately, only the portholes to hell are allowed to have 17,000 square feet of... No, no, 1,700 acres.
SpeakerThat's like over three square miles of JD factory. Jesus Christ. Hey, come on, 70 years ago, the same government that had prosecuted me and put me in prison was chasing around Jack Daniels for making whiskey. Now their facility is a historical registered mark, and literally, you know, here they are 70 years later cranking out 119 million bottles a year. I say we should argue for equal rights, not limited plant numbers, not 10 by 10, but equal rights.
BubblemanYeah, I agree, and so does everyone in chat. Preach, preach, agreed, yup, so true, justice for one, Todd nailed it.
SpeakerWell, I feel that too many people are giving up our rights right now. They're too eager to have a little bit of freedom. And I think realiztically we should be arguing for equal rights the whole way across the board. And realiztically in some cases, like with tobacco, I'm sorry, but look at what San Francisco did. They created a situation, Mark, where the only thing you can smoke...
SpeakerIs medical cannabis. You're not allowed to smoke tobacco. So tobacco in public places is completely off limits. The only thing you can smell burn in bed would be some medical ganja. It's the same way in Berkeley as well. I love it. It's intelligent. And, you know, now it's not equal rights because science proves that we're more healthy and we're not at all harmful like tobacco is. So interesting how it's changing.
SpeakerInteresting.
BubblemanAs long as we keep the radium-226 off of the ganja fields, our plants will never be as unhealthy as tobacco plants.
SpeakerThe radium is really bad. I mean, we make that argument in The Emperor that it's radioactive tobacco that's really hurting people. And I don't necessarily think either way. I think that tobacco doesn't make the beneficial cannabinoids that we're finding helpful in cannabis. So on some levels, tobacco, sorry. You're so 20th century tobacco. Now cannabinoids are literally the 21st century medicine.
BubblemanWell, considering a tobacco dab could literally and does kill a horse, it's probably the best idea to stay away from dabbing tobacco extracts. Like, yeah, I got some pure nicotine, bro. I killed the whole party, man. Laid those motherfuckers out. They couldn't handle the pure nicotine. I never even thought about that until you just said it. Well, you know how they put horses down, right?
SpeakerNo.
BubblemanWith pure nicotine in the syringe, dude. The horse is on the ground before the plunger hits the end.
SpeakerI'm not joking.
BubblemanStop a heart that big.
SpeakerWell, it makes me sad for the horse. Indeed. But I guess we all got to go sometime, so that's interesting. Nicotine kills horses. Here, how about a throwback? I just read this week of a kid in the South who drank a vial of that nicotine concentrate and died. No. He drank the vape juice. I can imagine, yeah, that propylene glycol. It's, yeah, the stuff they make in the States being all propylene glycol, he drank antifreeze and died.
SpeakerYeah, I can imagine that. That's disgusting. That makes scientific sense. And a painful way to go. He needed better parents. Well, the parent is being charged, most likely.
BubblemanYou're hilarious, Todd. Sometimes you make the most awesome fucking statements that are just like, oh, fuck, I love you, buddy.
SpeakerSorry. ATN always tells me, you say what you think. Most people don't.
BubblemanIt's good. It's funny. It's Dave-esque. I appreciate it.
SpeakerThanks. Now that he's nice to me, I'll take that as a compliment.
BubblemanHow about we do a throwback? Because, you know, Marcel and Jessica are in the room, some glass doors. A throwback for you, Marcel, on this one. Now, this isn't one of your pieces, but I'm sure you'll recognize whose it is when I show it. And I can't remember what year I got it in. Maybe 97? Wow.
BubblemanPedro Smiley Lamp.
SpeakerJesus, bro.
SpeakerThat's stony. That's a classic piece.
BubblemanPretty classic old Pedro. Marcel, of course, new Pedro. When's the last time you talked to Pedro?
SpeakerOh, gosh. Like November?
BubblemanOh wow, so that's not too long ago. Well, say hi to Pedro before me. I will. And then, there was always the second one. If I can pull it down without pulling a hundred things down on top of me.
SpeakerHere's the matching lamp.
BubblemanWow. I would appreciate, I think more glass blowers should be pumping these out, man. These are like
SpeakerAll right, these are cool.
BubblemanSo beautiful.
SpeakerYeah, but you should have light inside the bulb there so it comes out the light. That would be pretty cool. That would be pretty sick. Yeah, it should light up from the bottom and the top. Yeah, I agree from the bottom as well because you could also work the base.
BubblemanYep, my lamp game is on point, Chester Copperpot. My lamp point is on, or my lamp game is on point. All I have is two of you. Yeah, I always felt blessed to be able to get access to stuff like that from you guys back in the day. Even those weird, Jason Lee would send me these weird, like, I'm not really selling this, but I'll sell it to you.
BubblemanI kept all these weird, freaky prototype pieces that were just, that were very cool. Actually, I got one from you, Marcel.
SpeakerNice stuff from you. But hey, I got one for you guys. He's missing a house. Yeah.
BubblemanI missed that.
SpeakerOh, what? What is that? What? Oh, this?
BubblemanOh, yeah. I saw you making that the other day, dude.
SpeakerYep.
BubblemanThat's awesome, you guys. First collab?
SpeakerYep. Well, first fight collab, yeah. That's a stick. Crackle the Orbs.
SpeakerAlright. Let's see. Heck yeah. Do you have a dabber? I do.
BubblemanI have one.
BubblemanThe Cracked Cracked Orb.
SpeakerThat thing's great. The Exploded Orb.
BubblemanYeah, what was that one all about? Didn't you like learn some new process with water and shit to do this?
SpeakerYeah, it's kind of a unique thing because there aren't a lot of crackled vessels made in Borough.
BubblemanRight. That's what I'm saying. This is sort of like a soft glass thing, huh?
SpeakerRight. And even in soft glass, they don't really, you know, it typically melts back a little bit more. So it was just one of the things I did to like explore the medium back in the day. Those roll-ups, it's not, none of that glass is dipped out of a pot. It's all like gathered and heated in the glory hole and applied as overlays. So it's a little, slightly different process, but more of a, still very much a hot shot process.
BubblemanAnother part of the journey.
SpeakerRight? It was a good part.
BubblemanHell yeah. Well, I'm sure glad to have one.
SpeakerThank you. There's probably like, I don't know, maybe 45, 50 of them total as far as like including centerpieces from Eugene Glass School and I don't know, maybe a few more than that.
BubblemanWomb Raider wants to know if you can show that piece again slowly and then up to the camera and then turn it gently and slowly. I added all the slowlies. I like the sort of purpley pink you guys used in the background. What color is that?
SpeakerUh, that's, I think that's, uh, rosé with, uh, green magenta dichro.
BubblemanThat's, uh, that's pretty sweet. You got a deep dish banger on there too, huh?
SpeakerYeah, I think so. We had to just kind of, like, rifle this one from somebody's rig because I ordered the wrong size. This is for my carpenter. I'm borrowing it from him. We got to break it in just a few Uh, hours ago, at breakfast.
BubblemanYou guys keeping that piece as a, as a duology?
SpeakerUh, well, we're actually giving it to the carpenter who's building our house.
BubblemanOh, beautiful, beautiful. He's, uh, that carpenter's gonna be one happy carpenter.
SpeakerYou should show him the axe. Mm, he's, uh, he's got quite the collection, actually.
BubblemanNice, look at that thing spin.
SpeakerYou guys probably got a better look than I've gotten so far.
BubblemanYeah, that is a dope piece of glass.
BubblemanStephen Hampson, that one less or more than 10K? Less.
BubblemanI mean, unless you want to pay more, I probably could make you one.
SpeakerOh, yeah.
BubblemanI'd take a commission.
BubblemanTorching up the new piece.
SpeakerOh, yeah. I don't get to smoke out of the new-new too often.
BubblemanNow, tell me if this is correct or not. When I bought the first piece off you, did I offer you to break it in Did we have that conversation?
BubblemanI thought so. It's always good when people remember the past the same rather than differently, but life is weird.
SpeakerIt is weird, and things do change over time, apparently.
BubblemanTotally. Yeah, why do you have no sound, Johnny B? What's going on? Hello, talk now, I just...
BubblemanThat's weird. Go difficult. What about now, John? Can you hear? That is bizarre. You're unmuted. Your mic is turned up loud.
SpeakerI see the lips moving, but I hear nothing.
BubblemanI know. That's totally bizarre. Oh, well. Look at the problems Jessica had trying to get in today. I was really glad she pushed through and made it in.
BubblemanSome powerful story. Did you guys catch that story earlier there, Marcel, in Hash Church? Jessica?
SpeakerJust the tail end of it.
SpeakerIt was... Is she the Jessica... Does she throw festivals? Is that what her gig is?
BubblemanNo, she worked at... She worked at a pharmacy, actually, and she was telling a story about how her daughter was, you know... Basically doing a thousand times better since she started taking cannabis oil extracts to help alleviate the symptoms of her epilepsy. An extreme form of epilepsy called Dravet or Dravet Syndrome. Hundreds of seizures a day this poor child used to have for ten years basically. Then all of a sudden she started taking this oil and boom.
BubblemanShe's walking around, she's laughing, she's out of her wheelchair. It's pretty incredible. I mean, really, much like Samantha's story, Samantha's story is a total tearjerker. I mean, when she first told that story, that was just like every single one of us in the room was just like, oh my goodness. There's powerful stories out there, and I think that they're the stories people should tell more often than how big of a dab they took last night at the big party.
SpeakerDo you hear the one that happened in Kansas this week? Was it like a three-gram dab?
SpeakerNo, the state seized an 11-year-old from a mother because the kid challenged a DARE program officer in class regarding medical marijuana. So the state took the kid. So this woman right now is doing a GoFundMe page to help with legal fees. The local police in Kansas shut down her Facebook. Because she was using it to promote her GoFundMe and the police didn't like that they did that.
SpeakerSo it spread through the underground network and they asked for 15K and she now has over 23K. So apparently the world has heard her cry. So a lot of injustice still ongoing here in America and this one in the heartland in Kansas.
BubblemanThat's just unbelievable, man. That's some terrible shit right there.
SpeakerWell, no. Technically, I think it's worse, 18. I think the kid advocated medical cannabis in school, and they detained the kid and went and raided his mom's house. Yes, they did raid the house, yes. While they held the kid in school. As soon as the kid opened his mouth. You know, and it's a really screwed up world. I mean, my mom, I was on the same team with my mom, and my mom literally held up bongs and said, Don't tell anybody you know what this is.
SpeakerAnd she, you know, realiztically explained to me that there was, you know, child protective services and people that wouldn't think and that would tear our family apart. And I think it's really screwed that we live in this society where that's completely acceptable. But, like, you know, someone owns a winery. They can raise their kids without a problem. Yet how many people go fucking fall off to alcoholism?
SpeakerNot a problem. Raising your kid in a winery? Not a problem. Raise your kids around marijuana? Not a problem. We'll fucking destroy your life and your family. I think it really does fight back to, like, all this conversation has to shift away from is marijuana good to what are our rights, equal rights, because really that's what we need right now, because we shouldn't be tolerating this shit.
SpeakerI totally agree with the idea of, like, sovereign rights to just do and be, and that's fucking important. Excuse the curse. No, no, you know, I believe in cognitive liberty, but in some ways we're not even asking for sovereign rights. We're saying, hey, listen, if you're going to treat other people that way, you've got to treat us this way too. This is what our civil rights movements have all been about.
SpeakerIt's women's suffrages and voting, they wanted equal rights. Blacks and minorities wanted equal rights. I mean, we all should be arguing to be treated equal. We're all earthly. It doesn't matter where we were. We shouldn't be nationalistic. We should really all be from the same planet and try to be on the same team and really recognize the way other people are being treated affects us. So if people are being oppressed, we should not tolerate that.
SpeakerWe should really, really do everything we can to bring an end to this inequality. At least somebody will.
BubblemanWell, rights and justice, Peter Tosh said it. Yeah.
SpeakerYes, Peter did. We'll smoke to Peter Tosh. He was pretty cool.
BubblemanHe didn't want peace and love. He said we couldn't have peace and love until we had equal rights and justice. It's a great album. Check it out if you haven't.
SpeakerGoogle that shit. I hope everybody that's leaders in the movement starts really recognizing that and starts fighting for equal rights. I really, really do. You know?
BubblemanSo you're going to be running against Hillary in the next election, is that correct? You're running for president, Todd? Did you want to release that today here on Hash Church?
SpeakerNo, that would be the creepiest job ever. Oh my God. Oh my God, that's right. Could you imagine that shit? That would suck.
BubblemanI cannot imagine.
SpeakerI would end up like Kennedy, like within a week of being fucking in office.
BubblemanJust done.
SpeakerYeah. Is everybody going to watch the CNN thing that's going on tonight? Do you get CNN International? Is it going to show you the part three of marijuana up there, Mark?
BubblemanI'll probably just pick it up on some stream or a BitTorrent right after.
SpeakerYeah, yeah. You know, they're getting remarkable ratings, so they're jumping all over the subject matter again and again, and I think it's great to a large degree.
BubblemanWell, sure, when you think of all those people that are out there that just are mainstream people that aren't in the cannabis community, that don't understand or know what dispensary is the good dispensary, or that don't know about cannabis cups and strains and companies and extraction processes and Standards, and they just, they don't know any of it, so what a great place for them to get exposed through their own mainstream media.
SpeakerTotally, yeah. I'm interested to see how they portray it tonight. I'm for it. The President of the United States is supposedly going to come out on there stating his support for medical cannabis, whatever lip service that will be. Yeah, we already did that before we elected him, too. That worked out real great. Yeah, right? Yeah, giving them the job, that was perfect. It's not like they're trying to take buildings where there are pot clubs in California or anything like that.
SpeakerYeah, but Rome wasn't built in a day.
BubblemanYour expression said it all, Todd.
SpeakerWell, you know what, guys? It just amazes me to think that we passed this law in California in 96, and it's like 19 years, right? This November is 19 years later? Yep. I think 19 years ago that we would see what's happening in Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, D.C. We hoped, but we didn't. Expect it. No. I think it's good. I'm all for change. It's a good thing.
SpeakerYou know, I just wish people that made change locally would think of it internationally and see the bigger picture.
BubblemanYeah, isn't that the truth? You know, this is one guy said in the chat, we'll wait until you see how many times they'll mention the FDA has to control it. And so my initial thought to reply to him was like, well, the thing we're fighting for right now is to be To have standards, to have the highest level of standards, and unfortunately, is the FDA not the highest level of standard in the U.S. right now?
BubblemanWho creates your standards for all the medications that are sold through pharmacies?
SpeakerWho does the regulation?
BubblemanYeah, like who set up the standards? Who standardizes it so that it's tested and there's no, you know, the things that are being put into place to make sure that what you're getting is exactly what you're getting. The exact weight, the exact thing that you're supposed to be getting is what you're getting. Is that not the FDA?
SpeakerI would think it is the FDA.
BubblemanYeah, so that's what I'm saying. This guy's saying, oh, the FDA's going to want to control it. It's like, well, listen, if you're trying to play in their model, And what you're trying to get is FDA approval, then yeah, that's obviously, if you want to sell it on that level, I mean...
SpeakerIt won't work because we're part of this single-cell compound treaty, so I mean, they won't allow for this many compounds in a complex flower, but it's interesting to see that NIDA is somehow going to ask for more growing to be happening at the University of Mississippi so that they can do more research, so... It's interesting to watch them again continue to talk out of both sides of their mouth.
BubblemanIt's corrupt. It's like, well, obviously the FDA is corrupt, but nonetheless, to try and get into this system, that's all I'm trying to say, is how do you get into a system without, because we were talking to this earlier with Samantha, although people are always going to be able to Want to buy from dispensaries, people are always going to want to be able to produce their own.
BubblemanThere is a certain level of people that are always going to just be more comfortable going to their pharmacy or ordering it off of some online sort of, you know, something that's a little more like, well, I don't know who those, what are the standards of that, you know, so-and-so shop down in Vancouver, like how much, how much milligrams is actually in their edibles? And if I test the edibles, will it be Standardized, you know, did they standardize it to a point like a kitchen is supposed to standardize kitchen safety and cleanliness when they're preparing my food?
BubblemanOr are people just back there picking their nose and using low quality shit to make their corn syrup fucking candies with and fucking low quality like white granulated sugar to make fucking medicine for cancer patients? It's like, well, last time I heard fucking sugar feeds cancer. I'm not sure if you want to, like it's just, there's got to be a standard put in place is all I'm saying.
BubblemanAnd I wonder who Who's going to be the body to do that?
SpeakerIn California, we've had to self-regulate because there is no regulation put in control like what has been instituted in Colorado. So we had to do what's called organoleptic testing using our sight, smell, as well as judging for effect until around 2007 we started to actually bring scientists over and actually get them into labs with Testing solutions so that they could actually start to get standards. And then from that, what did we end up with?
SpeakerWe ended up with CBD. So out of this, just in 2007, so in just eight years, we found one new spike. But how many other spikes are out there of symbiotic relationships of other compounds that exist in the ensemble effect of the various compounds in cannabis that We'll have an effect that won't make its way through the FDA, because again, you have to start off with a single cell, such as what Marinol or Drenabinol is, and then it has to go through the entire process as that single cell.
SpeakerWhen you've got this many variations of compounds, and again, depending on farmer, depending on region, depending on how it's grown, and again, as you talked about earlier, the biggest problem we still deal with is consistency. Yes, I can get it for This span of time, but then this grower runs out or that process is out because, again, it's a plant. It's not a magic widget machine. We can't stamp it out every single day and say, here's your cookies, here's your Gorilla Glue, here you go.
SpeakerYou know, we wish we could. It's just not that reality. So we're dealt, again, with in the world of anti-regulation that exists in the vacuum, we still have to self-regulate and then We dispensaries take it upon ourselves to pay for testing because we want you to know what you're getting is missing this, missing this, has this, in this ratio so that you can at least have a better understanding about what you're putting into your body because congratulations, as you said, you just found out you have cancer.
SpeakerThe last thing you want to do is go put sugar or any type of thing in your body so We had to then search out for alternatives to sugar, glycerin and oil and other suspensions so that people were looking at different types of sweeteners so that we had different types of dietary restrictions from gluten-free for celiac patients and then as well as sugar-free because people can't deal with that and different types of, be it honey or other types of substances that are available like glycerin.
BubblemanAwesome. Thanks for that throw down, Etienne. Giving us the knowledge. So you see, that's what the dispensaries are forced to do. At least the dispensaries that are willing to put their integrity above, you know, their profit line. The integrity of, you know, this is what people deserve. The highest standards. I mean, what are standards that you guys have in place there in Washington, Mike?
BubblemanAre you on mute there? No, I can't hear you. You've got Johnny B's problem. He's having the exact same problem right now. He's not on mute, but we can't hear him.
SpeakerI'm not too sure.
BubblemanHe's had a bald eagle fly by. Nice. Beautiful. Mike's going to fix his technical difficulties. He's got the same thing you have, John. He's not muted. And you're muted now, John, so we can't hear you for sure. But even when John unmutes, we can't hear him. Same with Mike. Not sure what's going on here. Yeah, I guess one of the things that the Prana line is suspended is in terpenes.
BubblemanI like that idea of a terpene suspension model. And potentially even like a different line of terpenes where you could have You know, one line of prana in this particular terpene as the carrier instead of glycerin, you know, and another completely different terpene. Obviously, we know that terpenes modulate the effects of cannabinoids, whether we're consuming them orally or through inhalation. It'll be interesting to learn more about that as we go along and find... My real interest in all of this is knowing that, yes, we know that cannabis is so amazing, and yes, it's been used for thousands of years, And yeah, if you throw any old strain at most ailments, you'll see improvements.
BubblemanBut where we're at is we want to see if we can hone that in more specifically. And it's one of the things I love about Prana is that it's a stacked, saturated, for saturating the endocannabinoid system, it's stacked profile. It's many strains stacked into each bottle. And then with many bottles, you can start stacking It's brilliant the way they didn't just guess that. They created it based on a landscape that was discovered to them through the activated cannabinoid therapy program, which is through doctors and patients using these compounds, going back and forth, and then that information being pulled out through the program and creating this landscape that's showing patterns of specific ailments and that, oh, not just this strain, but these strains up.
BubblemanSo it's not just like a particular 3 to 1 or 5 to 1 or whatever. It's a group of strains. Yeah, you might need that one with this CBD, but why don't we bring this one in over here because it's got a better THC percentage. Let's bring in this one because it's got a higher percentage of mercine versus humaline. And then we start stacking our cannabinoid profiles.
BubblemanAnd to me, I cannot imagine how that's not going to be a big part of the future of all of this right now. Just something, just a thought.
SpeakerYou're on mute, Todd. Good thought is what I was saying. Well, I hope you guys have a good Sunday. We're going to go off to the expo now and see what it's like.
BubblemanWell, have a wonderful day. Hello, Lauren. I just saw you take your dab. I hope you guys are doing well and enjoy the secret cup.
SpeakerWe will. I will take photos. All right. And I'll see you next Sunday. I'll see you soon. Bye, everybody.
BubblemanSee you later. Have a wonderful day. Take it easy, guys. Is your mic working there, Mike? Are you still muted out?
SpeakerDamn.
BubblemanTechnical difficulties all day long. I like that you've got my daughter's name on your shirt, Marcel.
SpeakerOh, Trinity Labs. That's awesome. This is Ezra's company, Trinity Labs.
BubblemanWicked.
SpeakerYes, sir.
BubblemanUnbelievable that we never met.
SpeakerYou and Ezra?
BubblemanYep.
SpeakerYes, sir.
BubblemanWell. We lived in alternate universes. Right. Different versions of each other in a different place.
SpeakerJessica says I should show you this axe on Hash Church. This is the
SpeakerThis is the piece that my carpenter has. He's amazing.
BubblemanCarpenter's killing it, hey? Whoa! Oh my God! Are you kidding me, bro? Holy! What did that play?
SpeakerI didn't work as Lauren at Liberty.
BubblemanI wasn't ready for that. Okay, so tell me about this thing, because I can't even, like... The head is obviously three-dimensional, and those orbs of flower and life are like floating and connected.
SpeakerYeah, they're carved and electroformed. They did that up at Liberty.
BubblemanOh my God, they're electroformed.
SpeakerYeah, so it's copper. It's so dope, bro.
BubblemanDude, okay, honestly, when you said what you said, this is what I heard. This is what I heard. It's sharp. Jessica wants to show you her ass, and I was like, He did not just say that. What does that thing weigh? Yeah.
SpeakerHeavy. It's heavy feeling. I would say like at least five to eight pounds.
BubblemanShow me the handle.
BubblemanWow. Holy Christ. Okay, who did that? Tell me everything about this thing real quick.
SpeakerOkay, I want to So I made the blank, which is the glasswork, and then Liberty Glass carved it, and Chipwreck Glass electroformed it. I went in with some pretty vague ideas about using some sacred geometry, and Lauren delivered this amazing piece.
BubblemanThat's definitely over the top.
BubblemanYeah, or as Bob McDonald says, tits, hella tits.
SpeakerAnd where is the bowl?
BubblemanIt's an axe. It's an axe bowl. Talk about pulling out the serious axe.
SpeakerSo, wow. Does it sit on a stand, a wooden stand or something? It has a steel stand. It sits like so.
BubblemanWow is all I can say. That's pretty outrageous. Thank you guys for sharing. I was, I didn't know when you said the ass thing, I was like maybe she's going to pull out another one of those sculptures with a really nice ass because someone talked about the ass last time. I don't know. Axe. Axe. Got it.
BubblemanYep. There it is. There it is. That wasn't the same one that went on to the ice cubes though, right? No. And so that one I saw, I think I ended up seeing, what, didn't you guys put a, was there like one of those tentacles on that as well or something?
SpeakerYes.
BubblemanYeah, cool. Very cool.
SpeakerThe girls found the drawer of extra tentacles.
BubblemanAh, the extra tentacles.
SpeakerThat was a three-way. The extra tentacles and the extra girls.
BubblemanMarcel's just down in Eugene rocking three-ways. Forget about collabs.
SpeakerLots of three-ways.
BubblemanLots of three-ways. You guys are hilarious. That was amazing. Peace is outrageous, nonetheless. Made me want to smoke a bowl, actually.
SpeakerAwesome.
BubblemanYep.
SpeakerWell, I'll smoke with you before we head off. We have to head off soon as well.
BubblemanWell, it was a great Hash Church. We've done four hours, had some beautiful stories. It was our 30th episode of Hash Church. And we've had 500 to 600 people watching most of the time.
BubblemanAll right, I'm going in. Mother shipping.
SpeakerOops.
BubblemanWell, I'm smoking on some D420K dry sift. Thanks, buddy.
BubblemanIt is my life. Yeah, I'm sure that it does.
BubblemanLater hash dudes. Yeah, that was a great hash church. We made four hours. Please get prices. Get prices for what? Those things aren't for sale. Those are his... He said both times that they're his... His carpenters, they're part of his collection. He's a collector. I don't think he's a seller.
SpeakerYeah, the man earned those through hard work. Yeah, how much? It's like, how about this?
BubblemanLots. With a capital L. Alright.
SpeakerAwesome. Well, thank you, Mark. I appreciate your time. And we'll see you next time, I hope.
BubblemanYeah, thank you guys both for coming in. Jessica and Marcel, we appreciated it. Good fun. Happy 420. It's just around the corner, guys. I want to wish everyone a happy 420, wherever you may be. Feel free to post your happy 420 photos on Instagram or Twitter or Facebook and put the hashtag, hash church. We want to check them out. Thank you. Thank you.
BubblemanOh, what is it? HDC underscore LHO?
SpeakerDid I get that right?
BubblemanAnd then Samantha, you have your YouTube channel, Samantha LV, your Facebook page, Samantha LV. And then do you also have an Instagram account?
SpeakerAnd no, I don't have an Instagram account at the minute. I need to get a bit more up to date with technology.
BubblemanWell, that's okay. You're getting there. You're getting there. I just wanted to shout you out and make sure that people know where to find you if they want to get in touch. Create dialogue. Create space for people. Absolutely. Well, thank you for coming out, Samantha. And Etienne, how can they get in touch with you through your social medias?
SpeakerI'm on Instagram at... The letters ATN420 and same thing via Facebook.
BubblemanThat's it. And it's Berkeley's Patient Group, correct?
SpeakerYep, Berkeley Patients Group. Been around for 15 years, getting ready to go on 16 years here in a couple more months.
BubblemanAwesome. Go check those guys out. If you're in that area, they know what they're doing and they've got integrity. Thanks everyone for being a part of Hash Church for the 30th episode. I appreciate all of you guys and we will see you next week.
BubblemanPeace.
