BubblemanAll right, I think we've gone live here. Welcome everybody to Hash Church episode 81. And welcome to another great day of hanging out with the panelists, shooting the shit about cannabis and all the things that we love, and finding out some updates on what's been going on in the world. Every week something happens. I know that this week one of our panelists, Dana Larson, was arrested for trafficking in seeds, which I hope that we get to talk I'm going to send out the links.

BubblemanI just made sure to mute that video before it went through, and we will send out the links to our panelists. We got one here and one over there. Make sure I get everyone remembered. I look forward to today, actually. You can see I got myself kind of a little funny haircut. Never had a really styley do before, but what I do for HashChurch. What I do for HashChurch.

BubblemanI think we're going to open it right up today with a bowl. Oh, in fact, I left my hash in my freezer. I do have quite a bit of hash here, but why don't we wait for someone to come on in and I'll be able to... Oh, and it's Etienne. Look at that. Etienne, you're a lifesaver. I'm going to go grab my hash. You talk to the 336 people that are in the room.

BubblemanWelcome, brother.

Etienne FontanGood. Well, hi, everybody. Welcome to Hash Church 81. Jesus Christ. Hey, Dana, we love you. Dana Larson got arrested this week from the reality of Canada. Don't get you guys sometimes. Love you, but laws are just superbly fucked up at times. But Dana's out. Glad to see that he's free, and I'd love to hope that he pops in here, needless to say. I got to spend the early part of this week in Bellingham, Washington for a blip.

Etienne FontanI got to go do a full interview of Mothership Blots. I got to go interview Jake C and, of course, Scott Deppie, and that will be coming out in Todd McCormick's Hemp.XXX Magazine in time.

SpeakerBesides that, that's all I really know in cannabis. Hi, John.

Etienne FontanHi, Sam. Howdy, howdy.

BubblemanYes, welcome, welcome. I had to mute your mic, John. You've got some pretty bad mic fuckery, so it's muted. Mute it every second that you're not talking today. Do not leave it unmuted, and we should be fine.

SpeakerWe should be fine. We got bad feedback?

BubblemanYeah, when anyone else talks, there's feedback on your mic, so you're just going to have to mute it when you're not talking, which would be right now.

SpeakerGood morning. How are you? Great to see you. I'm going to go. Maybe it might be the stereo behind me.

BubblemanNo, no. You need to mute your mic every time you're not talking. If you notice, when you don't do it, I do it all through Hash Church, and it becomes a job for me. So please, everyone, mute your mic. Like right now, John, you're not talking. So you would mute. There you go, buddy. Good stuff. I knew you could figure it out. We're good to go. No mic fuckery today.

BubblemanWe're going to rock this out. Welcome, Sam I.M.,

SamI was noticing in the comments that one Hash Churcher was watching Hash Church with his three-year-old son, and he said his favorite part was Sam I Am.

BubblemanI saw that as well, that he said he watched over his shoulder just to see your little doll there, so that's pretty cool.

Etienne FontanDid you get a haircut there, Bubble Man?

BubblemanYeah, I went and shaved my, I wanted to shave my head, and then the lady was like, no, no, I'm going to give you a style, and I'm like, I'm not really a style guy, but she gave me this little funny style, and now I'm growing it out, so yeah, I got a haircut. You can read in the chat everyone making fun of it.

Etienne FontanYeah, they're saying some not so kind things.

BubblemanThat's okay, you know, it's a fun, you know, I might bust my balls as well, and if you can't take a good ball busting over a, Over a funny haircut, then you need to have another puff, which I think I'm going to do right now, in fact. Yeah.

Etienne FontanHey, Todd. I finally got some orange creamsicle the other day from Tony.

BubblemanOh, we just got the, oh, what did we just get? We just got like the Cali-O OG creamsicle terpenes.

BubblemanTelling you. Well, I think I'll open it up with some PK-90. Good morning, Todd.

SpeakerGood morning. Well, you got all your hairs cut.

BubblemanI cut everyone, but this one over here I actually didn't cut.

SpeakerThat one's looking a little long.

BubblemanThis one's still original from...

SpeakerGuess what I got.

BubblemanOh, some Bubble Man brand. Hey, welcome, Danny.

DannyHi, everyone. How are you doing?

BubblemanGood morning.

DannyGood morning. Good morning, Danny. Good morning, Danny.

BubblemanVery well. Good morning. We got a new face on the panel. You got to tell us where you're from and what's your story, Dani?

DannyWell, I'm from Oakland, California. I work at Harborside Health Center. I'm Steve D'Angelo's executive assistant. And I've had a wonderful journey through Harborside with my own medical issues and concentrates and getting to where I need to be now.

BubblemanBeautiful. Well, Tony definitely told me you were a huge, major help with the Bubble Man brand and major props on all of that. So, yeah, I'm stoked to have you in Hash Church telling us a little bit about your stories, you know?

DannyYeah, wonderful. Thank you for having me.

BubblemanYeah, absolutely. We're just about to roll up here a little dab-a-doodle. We've got 571 subscribers. Folks viewing live, which is pretty quick after six minutes, I'm not going to lie, that's a pretty good live group. And as Rob Clark, the stranger who used to come to Hash Church all the time, says, blowing smoke towards the Vatican. So this one's for you, Mr. Clark, and of course for the Vatican.

BubblemanI hope you can smell this smoke because it's very tasty. 90 micron, let's do this.

SamI would like to report an almost death, and that is of my quartz bowl. I broke off the top little part. I can actually still technically... What happened to it? The little part that comes up out of the middle of the bowl is broke off.

BubblemanDamn, that's some hard dabbing. We need to get you a new bowl. Is that what you're saying?

SamWell, maybe, but it's actually technically still usable as long as I'm careful not to put the piece down the hole. Should we get you like a titanium one that you can't break? No, I've got a titanium one. I like this quartz one.

BubblemanOkay, okay. Well, we'll get a quartz one.

SpeakerMine's the same thing. Mine broke off in the middle, too. I think I might have fixed my microphone, too, but mine is the same. It broke off.

BubblemanYou know what, it's always just nice to mute your mic whether you think it's fixed or not.

SpeakerNo, but I'm muting it anyways.

BubblemanLook at the whole room there, you know, Etienne and Skeldon and Todd, they always just mute, and I try to do it myself because I'm coughing and when we do little things like when we start getting like a piece of our parchment paper, these sounds and stuff, they all just go away when we have it nicely muted. So, 81 episodes and we're still working on technical difficulties, but...

BubblemanBut hey, what are you puffing on there, Dani?

DannySome of your bubble, man. Actually, the Terp Rosin.

SpeakerYou can see there.

BubblemanYes, is that the cheese bomb?

DannyYes, super delicious. Yeah, that cheese bomb. I know Sabo, I think, sent you one recently.

BubblemanOh, yes. I haven't done a review yet, but I'm really excited. Thank you for watching.

BubblemanWe tried to clean the vape exhale and we broke a Q-tip off inside the heater and now every time we turn it on it smells like plastic and I was just like, no.

SamI remember. I remember. Yeah. I took a tiny hit on it, man. It was freaking horrible.

BubblemanYou're getting those Q-tip rips, dude. You're not supposed to hit Q-tips. That's a no bueno.

SpeakerBut it did clean my ears. Not stuff a Q-tip up your apex tail.

BubblemanYeah, that's the truth right there. Nothing plastic is going to go in mine. Comes really beautiful package. The dudes definitely seem like professional guys. And this pipe, I don't know how thick it is, but, dude, the glass feels like 5 or 7 mil. It's super thick.

SpeakerSuper quality.

BubblemanI've had mine now for a while.

SpeakerFabio brought me over one and it is awesome.

BubblemanYeah, I'm looking forward to doing a little, well, a terp gauntlet actually. Tomorrow the West Coast Concentrate guys are going to come over. We've got 12 new flavors of terpenes and we'll do a little vape exhale terp gauntlet. I'm not sure if we're going to do like pure terps the way Tony was telling me or if we'll actually do like phytocannabinoid

BubblemanEnd Terps. Hopefully we'll do the Phytocannabinoid End Terps. It sure finishes with a nicer head space at the end of the 12 rips. Welcome, Mr. Scaldone. Coffee in hand.

MrHey, it's Dr. Scaldone, man. What the hell?

BubblemanWelcome, Dr. Scaldone. Sorry, I'll use the DR from now on.

MrThat's okay. You can call me Mr. Well, you know what?

BubblemanWhen you go to school for that long... What's up, Doc? What's up, Doc?

MrWhat's up, Doc? There you go. And it's iced tea today, not coffee.

BubblemanOh, iced tea.

MrYes. Well, I figured, you know, it is springtime, so we might as well celebrate with an Arnold Palmer today.

BubblemanWell, there you go. Arnold Palmer down. I got really nice headspace on that... On that PK 90 micron, the West Coast Concentrate guys didn't use a 90 micron bag for the longest time, and I was always like, come on, come on, you've got to try it. Man, I'm pretty sure they're happy that they did. They've got some great melty melties.

SamYou know, Marcus, the next time we do any sort of a turf gauntlet, You really should hand out little pieces of paper with each terp or a sheet that would cover all the terps with their GCFID profiles. Yeah, that would be nice. Educate at the same time that we enlighten from spoken.

BubblemanYou're right. Well put, Sam. That's definitely going to happen. We'll get in touch with Mr. Soto next time. And maybe we can pass on the flavors, at least for the Barcelona version of that party. But that is a wonderful idea to be able to get a little booklet and be able to open it up and see your terpene profiles. That is definitely cool.

SamEspecially of the terpenes Tony's handed out.

BubblemanWell, yeah, exactly. Particularly the ones that will be at the party if you're having it. The party that we're talking about, of course, we had a terpene party a month and a bit ago in Barcelona. And it was pretty loose in the sense that we'd never done it before. The guys from La Calada were obviously a huge help with... With the space and with hosting the event and the fact that those guys are just full on like absolute cannabis warriors to the nth degree definitely didn't hurt either.

BubblemanBut it was pretty loose in the sense that we had one table with all the terps and then I would put terps on a plate and I would go to tables and just literally dab every single person down with a terp dip. Hit the next table with that plate, do all the rounds, because I wanted every single person to make sure that they hit every single terp, and there were some dudes from the UK that were quiet, sitting around a pole-type table where they were just like, oh, we're not going to bug anyone, so I went and made sure they got dabbed out, and it would be another nice thing to have almost hosts or hostesses doing the work that I was doing, so we could go around and sit at the tables, but physically actually Dabbing out like 100 people with one flavor of terpenes and then doing it again with 13 more definitely became a little bit of work.

SamWhat was really nice was that people were able to have their resin, their rosin or whatever they had, dose it with terpenes and see they already knew their rosin or their So it really showed them the difference instantly.

BubblemanIt's definitely the most efficient way if you're going to see what the effects are to use it with a material that you are very in the know of. And I also find that like You know, the creating of the terp rosin where you take a dab, a drop, and you create 5 or 10 grams of terp rosin, it definitely hits differently than if you just take a little hash or rosin and dip it right in the terpenes.

BubblemanAnd I'm not sure exactly why that is, maybe because those terpenes have interacted with the other profile more so than when they're just on the outside of the dab, but I'm sure there's some chemistry there, Mark.

SamMaybe it's because they're more incorporated into the resin, so when you hit it and it's not incorporated, it immediately flashes all the turps off, where this, turps continually become slowly with the vaporized product.

BubblemanYeah, I believe the science would show something, if not that, something to the effect, because I feel that the hits are very much like what you just said. They're just different. You get those terpenes. Mixed with the rosin or hash, terp malt or terp rosin, and it comes out like of a more full profile, whereas when you dip it, they almost come out together, but they're like beside each other instead of all mixed up.

BubblemanI don't know how else to put it, because it's coming from a bioassay, not a scientific, I never tested it obviously, but...

BubblemanGot a lot of head nodding going on, I like it, it's nice and early, 9.16, I like when the room is like, fucking bubble man with his 9am, we're all west coast, this motherfucker.

Etienne FontanHey, I showed up and you ran away, what are you talking about?

BubblemanI know, I was like, even as I ran away, I was like, oh, poor, I could hear you talking, I was like, okay, now ATN will feel what it's like. Of all the people, the guy that comes in the quickest, the one that deserves it the least... But it's tough sometimes being on Hash Church by yourself with 714 people listening to you talking and saying, what the fuck is this guy talking about?

BubblemanNaturally a man made like hell creases.

Etienne FontanSo might as well ask since there's 500 and something people watching, what's everybody smoking right now?

BubblemanOh yeah, and then in the meantime we've got a question from the Emerald Triangle Company. B-Man, can we get the panel's thoughts on... Plants containing cannabinoids, naturally and man-made, like Helcricium and the new Canna Kale. Okay, I had a conversation with him actually, this very guy that asked this question, I believe on Instagram or somewhere else. And my personal opinion was that it was kind of cool, but at the same time that we had cannabis that produces cannabinoid terpenes, it does it fairly cheaply.

BubblemanI just wonder, like, is it a THC-CBD thing where we're like, oh, I know your child has a tumor, but CBD is safer for kids, so just try it, this sort of trying to save face way, or is it like a really, an advancement that's going to, you know,

SpeakerThat's going to freeze? Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too, when he said that. I was thinking, that's kind of weird. Arms up and everything.

Etienne FontanOkay, apparently, Bubble Man, you need to rest.

SamOkay, now it's time for us to take over the church.

SpeakerThat's right, Sam.

Etienne FontanAll right, Sam. Sam, you would be the pope by executive order here, so which one of you should do that?

MrHelp!

MrDo I have to continue to mute myself?

SpeakerWell, they must be good, Johnny, because I can tell by the smile on your face. What would happen if you had a real church and the Pope just like fell off?

SpeakerWould we all just keep getting high and being like, fuck him? No, it's a little strange. Well, you know what? One thing Mark was talking about was Dana Larson. Hey, look who's back.

BubblemanDude, that was scary. I thought you guys were all gone. I thought the whole thing was shut down. I was like, damn.

SpeakerLet me just throw it out, bro. You should be growing dreadlocks, not getting some fancy haircut. Things could go terribly wrong for us.

SamI don't give no power to no bald heads.

BubblemanYou know what? Don't tell them that because Tony will have a hell of a time in Jamaica. Oh, fuck.

BubblemanNo, you know, for a bald head, Tony is very well received in Jamaica, I'll tell you. Those guys are not too concerned about hair dreadlocks. You know what the concern is? Definitely the joking concern that comes up all the time is children. Jamaican dudes are somewhat shocked at older dudes that don't have children. They're either like, is it not working? Is there something like... So they're very like all about like children.

BubblemanLike if you're like in your 30s or 40s and you don't have children, my Jamaican friends for sure are looking at you like, is something wrong? It's pretty funny. I've listened to the conversation with them and Tony and he's like, what do you mean, man? Like... I'm not, you know, I'm just 37. I still got time.

Etienne FontanKind of funny. No, it's all about attitude and respect. You know, I've been called the baldest dreadlock by quite a few Rastas myself, so.

SpeakerOh, yeah.

Etienne FontanIt's all in how you approach and respect it and clear your chalice properly.

BubblemanThis is the truth. Kabaka Pyramid says, I, man, will suss them out with my chalice. And that line basically means exactly that. It's like sit down and puff with people and you'll learn a lot about them, for instance. When I was in India at the Maha Kumbha Mela, a festival that happens every 12 years in one holy city, and it happens every three years in four different ones, it reverberates back to the 12th, to the Haridwar every 12 years, and then of course there's a Maha Maha, which is every 144 years.

BubblemanThese guys have been doing this for like thousands of years. And the circle of chillum smoking and the sort of unsaid rules and the shit that I saw happen, I saw one guy get kicked out immediately for bringing, he put his machine gun down because he was a soldier, or his rifle, whatever it was, but he forgot to take his shoes off and he got kicked out of the circle immediately for taking one step into the chillum circle with his shoes on.

BubblemanNow we're sitting at the banks of the Ganges We're at the foothills of the Himalaya Mountains, monkeys and mountains and beautiful river and sadhus everywhere. Like three million of them have walked from all over India to go to this festival. And the best one was the dude who put his lips on the chillum. He put his lips on the chillum and I never seen this like old baba who was like basically I guess he was the controlling factor of the space.

BubblemanHe had been sitting under this tree for like 60 some odd years every festival and so it was his tree. When he got there it was empty, no one was ever sitting there and he would create this good little circle of people producing food for him and making chai tea and people coming in and smoking chillums and of course we had beautiful hash from Nepal and one of the guys who sat in this circle, he smelt out our hash and he He reeled us in and brought us to this spot.

BubblemanBut man, this guy putting his lips on the chillum. You would think that he did something bad to the guy's child or something. He got reamed out, screamed at, and kicked out of the circle for breaking the etiquette of the chillum. So those guys are not joking around when it comes to...

SamMost people have either their own soffie, or I've even seen people share soffies.

BubblemanIt had a Safi.

SamWhat is the proper etiquette then?

BubblemanWell, I'm sure it changes a little from circle to circle, but definitely like taking your shoes off before you enter the circle, like there's a giant. I mean, all these guys are barefoot. But usually there's people from other countries that are sitting in these circles, and you can see the shoes at the entrance, so it's kind of a no-brainer. Unless it's all sadhus, all barefooted sadhus, then you probably should know Unless you're one of these freaks that goes to India and decides, I'm going to walk around barefoot.

BubblemanBecause I definitely saw those guys in the city of Delhi, and I was just like, man, that's like the Hep C trip to India right there.

SamYou can spot them easy because they all have, what is that called, ringworm? Ringworm.

BubblemanOh, my God. That is not a country to mess around with when it comes to illness and sickness. In my personal, stay healthy. Especially in those cities, big cities like Mumbai and Calcutta and Delhi. You said you spent a ton of time in Mumbai, didn't you Sam?

SamYes, I've probably been to Bombay or Mumbai as they call it nowadays, maybe 15 times. I think I've lived there for two years.

BubblemanI think I've lived there for two years. That's the best statement ever.

SamWell, off and on. Yeah. I never stayed in India more than six months. You're also called Sadhu Sam? Yes, I was.

BubblemanExactly. There you go. The Sadhu Sam. I can attest. Well, it might be time for another little dab-a-doodle. We're dabbing. Come on, sing it, Mark. Sing. I'm not much of a singer, dude. People are already making fun of me for my hair. I don't think they need to be, like, making fun of me for my singing, too. But honestly, as soon as you started singing, I was thinking Justin Bieber jokes.

BubblemanOh, nice. No, Justin Bieber has dreadlocks now, dude. You gotta, like, all the dreadies have to cut their dreadies. He's, like, culturally appropriated their dreadlocks.

SpeakerOh, wait a minute.

BubblemanI didn't know he did that. You know what? Funny enough, everyone hates on this fucking guy. I don't pay any attention to him at all, but all I know is he's a dude that became famous from YouTube. It's like he wasn't built up by producers. He was, like, he became famous from putting his shit on YouTube and, like, millions of people saying, I like the sound of this dude's voice.

BubblemanMy kids hate him. And I'm like, why do you hate him so much? And they don't even know why. It's apparently just a cultural thing in North America that you're supposed to hate Justin Bieber and mock anything that is Justin Bieber-like. But I find it's a sheeple mentality, to say the least. It's like a fed reaction. People just love to fucking hate that guy.

SpeakerThe kid has a triumphant life story. And you know what? Good for him for turning his life around using fucking YouTube.

BubblemanWhy? Was he like poor and shit?

SpeakerYeah, he wasn't rich. I mean, he used YouTube to fucking get himself found. I mean, I don't like him. I mean, I couldn't tell you as long as he's ever sang, but I watched a bit of a documentary about the kid's life, and I was very impressed, you know, for a teenager to be able to have that much positive impact on, you know, following his dreams. It's fucking unbelievable.

SamAnd I thought he worked at Mickey Mouse on the Mickey Mouse show at first.

SpeakerNo, that was the girls. I'm just joking. I thought he was Canadian too. He is Canadian. That's why I made a joke about Mark singing. Don't make me explain all the Justin Bieber jokes, bro.

SamThey're a lot funnier when you explain them, Todd.

BubblemanMichael Manning says, Hey Hash Church, we're here in the back room of Magnolia Wellness. Greetings from Oakland.

Etienne FontanThere you go. Much love.

BubblemanYeah, now Nickelback you can make a ton of fun of.

SpeakerYeah, nobody likes that.

BubblemanFuck that shit. Someone said that in the chat. That's funny. Oh yeah, right. Someone also corrected you, Sam. It was... It was Justin Timberlake who was on the Mickey Mouse show.

SamReally? I didn't know that either.

BubblemanI don't even know what the fuck you're talking about. We don't have a Mickey Mouse show up here in Canada.

SamWell, no, just lots of famous stars started their career in the Mickey Mouse show. That's all. Right.

DannyBritney Spears and Christina Aguilera.

BubblemanThere really is a Mickey Mouse show?

DannyYeah, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera also. Mickey Mousers, that's for her and Justin. As the female, I do know that.

Etienne FontanYeah, but it goes back to when they played cello in those guys back in the 60s. So, I mean, it's just... I'm just going to throw this out.

Speaker18-year-old.

SpeakerYou're talking Annette Funicello, bro. You're old, bro. You're so old.

Etienne FontanWho in the town knows who the fuck that is, right? That's the great thing about cannabis, though. There's people who are watching us who actually get that, and a whole bunch of people going to Google going, who's Annette Funicello?

BubblemanThat's awesome. Hey, when are we going to expect the Hemp Hemp X first issue come out with all these great stories you guys are writing about?

SpeakerBy the end of the month.

BubblemanOh, nice, dude.

SpeakerDude, going up to Mothership was a dream, dude. Sitting with Scott and Jake was unbelievable. That shop is awesome. They are so nice. They're making such nice stuff. I loved it.

BubblemanThey're killing it. Like I said, dude, there's not really a lot of people on the same level doing both things, like the production art pieces. They've turned clear proto pieces into art collectible pieces that are gaining prices on the same level as actual heady art. And then, you know, per level. And then doing heady art as well. Doing, you know, multiple tens of thousands and even hundred plus thousand dollar glass pieces of art.

BubblemanIt's pretty incredible. Definitely nice to see that they've just, they've almost taken it, I don't want to say out of the cannabis community because it's still deeply entrenched in the cannabis community, but it's definitely like raising the cannabis community bar up. On the type of art that people collect and then it's bringing a lot of art collectors into this world of cannabis functional art collecting which is also very fucking cool, you know.

BubblemanNow they didn't do it alone, they sit on the shoulders of many great artists and you can go through the history of it from Snodgrass and go on up through all these incredible blowers that were each You know, just learning simple seals and learning little tricks and how that was a step in the ladder to get to these blowers like Jason Lee and Marcel Braun and Clinton Roman and Scott Deppie and Jake Seat, like just some next level shit.

BubblemanTotally impressive.

Etienne FontanAnd I've seen it been around glass for decades and to see the amount of lays and their whole situation and then Thank you.

Etienne FontanJust absolutely just stunning what they're doing. On top of that, they're challenging themselves to always push the standards and push things further, which, you know, it's been happening to a certain extent in the glass community, but I think they have taken that bar, raised it, and now everyone's like, holy shit, look at that bar up there. That's quite a bar.

SpeakerYeah, it's true. I have a question for you, Mark, and I asked it to Scott. Is there any other area of art where there is a situation where artists are putting out pieces and there is such a demand for their immediate art? I mean, I'm sure there are single artists like, you know, Famous artists like Wyland, the guy that paints the whales and stuff, but is there a group like this that's making Tiffany lamps or something?

SpeakerI don't even know what to compare it to, and having such an immediate demand without there being dead artists or a hundred years gone by.

BubblemanYeah, you could compare it to native sculptures, whether wood.

MrCustom guitars. Custom good cars after, you know, the best luthiers in the world have waiting lists for years for thousands and thousands of dollars, like the guy who makes Trey Anastasia's car, which starts at like about Thank you so much for joining us.

SpeakerNo, I'm saying so. Not again.

Etienne FontanWhy does he always do that when he's talking? I know it's cold in Canada, but he shouldn't be freezing like that.

SamI'm pretty sure it's a sign from Ja that we're supposed to take over.

SpeakerHey, turn on, tune in, take over, right? Well, there we go.

SpeakerWhat's up, Mark?

BubblemanI don't know. I have no idea why my internet connection would be doing that. Everything's normal. I don't have tons of shit open.

MrIt's got to be the hair, right? Just ignore it.

SpeakerIt's got to be the hair.

BubblemanIt's got to be the hair. I'm just going to puff, and I'll shut up and listen. You guys talk, and I'll puff.

SpeakerHey, did you know the original name for the Mothership shop was Your Mom This House?

TonyYour mama's house.

SpeakerDamn. That's a good story.

BubblemanThat's pretty savage.

SpeakerYeah, where you want to meet, your mama's house. Looks pretty funny, actually. But they gave a great interview. You know, unfortunately, it's 44 pages of transcript I'm trying to get through. So it's going to be awfully long. And it's all really good, so it's hard to even cut up, honestly.

Etienne FontanYeah, we tried to ask all the questions you guys and gals would actually ask them so that we could get as...

Etienne FontanI want to welcome Jeff into the room.

BubblemanI didn't even see him come in there. Welcome, Mr. Church. Good morning. Hope all is well with you and yours. Like the Bob Marley statue in the back, he's holding his guitar, he's puffing on a spliff. Like if that isn't the quintessential Bob Marley poster ever.

SpeakerYeah, I definitely love it. It's been around for a long time. Very good, very good.

BubblemanWell, we've got a couple of different questions going on in the chat here.

Etienne FontanSo with Dana, I take it you sent a thing out to Dana for him to hopefully pop in if he was going to. Yeah. Are you worried about what is happening or next steps since I know he was arrested and released. What else can you tell us?

BubblemanWell, as Bill stipulated that he wouldn't touch or give away seeds, so he's just going and doing the talk now and having other people give away the seeds. He went like two days later to Edmonton, I believe, which is also in Alberta. And personally, I would think it would be maybe even a little more redneck than Alberta, but it went off without a hitch. They gave away a ton of seeds.

BubblemanHe spoke and nothing happened, so... I don't know, it seemed like Calgary was ready to push the buttons early on. They showed up with a pretty strong police presence, like five or six big stormtroopers in the little room that he was talking in. And then once someone got arrested outside, then it was calling the cavalry just in case because people get angry. And they start yelling and they're like, what are you fucking kidding me?

BubblemanThis is bullshit. And you get all passionate about it and then the police use that as a means to... Maintain the peace, which they call prepare to kick some ass, which is what it's really called, but what they call. We were prepared to meet the peace, keep the peace with 12 more officers were called in.

SamYeah, but the people really started it. They were throwing seeds at the police.

BubblemanWere they? No, I'm joking. Damn. Damn with the 180 humor.

BubblemanAll right, Terp Dip on the last of my Sunset KB. One of my favorite Terp profiles was this dual KB Sunset. So nice.

SpeakerSo Danny, let me pick that up.

BubblemanWhere'd you go, carb cap?

DannyCan you hear me?

BubblemanYes, I dropped my carb cap simultaneously and I was going to pick it up, but I guess that's why I have multiples.

BubblemanWhat is an ordinary day in the day of Danny being Steve D'Angelo's assistant? I could imagine that you're pretty like go, go, go.

DannyAll the time. All the time. I actually... Sleep with my phone next to my leg just in case because I get hit up at all hours from people who forget what time zone I'm in. My days are super crazy. I actually get into the office at about 7, 7.30 so I get in super early and I'm working until I go to bed. We have a very busy schedule and we travel all the time.

DannyWe just got back from Florida. We did an event with the Cannamoms out there. Steve just wrote a book. It came out in October called Cannabis Manifesto. So we've had a pretty busy book tour just going everywhere. It's quite amazing. I'm really thankful. For an opportunity, I've been able to travel to Prague and to Chile just supporting Harborside and supporting Steve.

BubblemanThat's awesome.

DannyYeah, no, I'm really thankful and it's quite amazing. But it's very busy and I'm like never, never, never stop working.

BubblemanYeah, I can imagine. It seems like a pretty, pretty go, go, go, go. You've got to have your shit together to be a part of the Harborside team.

DannyYeah, I've been working there for almost eight years in December of this year.

BubblemanOh, wow. And how long has Harborside been in existence now?

DannyTen years in October.

BubblemanAll right. So you've been there pretty much almost from the get-go.

DannyYeah, a very long time. But I started up in the front and worked my way up. It's quite awesome. They give you a really good opportunity to just move throughout the chains.

BubblemanI'll tell you that it's an interesting perspective from my perspective. Steve's one of the rare people in the cannabis industry I've never met at any of the events that I've ever went to. And I've never been down to California or to Harborside. So from my perspective, Harborside was what people told me about it. And it was always such positive and good things that people were saying that it made me want to sort of be a part of it before I even...

BubblemanThank you for joining us.

DannyWe actually, we really needed some of the rosin and some of the terp rosin. We had a lot more solvents, but we needed a lot more solvent lists on our board. So it was really nice to have it and I was super excited. Been smoking lots of it.

BubblemanI wish I could say the same.

DannyThat and Tony's terpene. It's quite awesome being able to work there and having all these Different, it's like working at a candy store. You're just like, ooh, what am I going to get next? I definitely spend a lot of my paycheck right back into the store though.

BubblemanRight back into that candy store. That's what this Sunset KB smells and tastes like. It smells like candy.

DannyIt really does. Amazing.

BubblemanI wonder what that connection is. Like it goes back through your childhood memories of like smelling candy for the first time. It's like I don't, I mean I saw my buddy John who's in the room. He just had like a crazy spinal surgery and his spinal cord was flattening and it was going to make him crippled and he was just like I'm going for the surgery. I might be crippled but I'm just going for it and he, man he came out of it He smelled some of those terpenes and I could see it on your face, John.

BubblemanIt literally was medicinal relief when you smelled those terpenes. And I don't know if that's a memory or what it was, but...

SpeakerIt's something that's very distinct. And when I've been in all that pain for so long and really being able to identify those terpenes that took that pain away, it really changed my perspective on why certain strains work for me throughout my recovery, throughout my surgeries and stuff. Like, specifically... Terpenes modulate pain 100%. What I felt when I came through after surgery and those particular terpenes and what it did for me, yeah, I mean it's a whole new perspective of what I look at and that's why I'm looking at different terpenes all the time now and trying to understand them better for my pain because I still have pain.

BubblemanCould it be a blood pressure thing? Because I know when I've had headaches in the past and I've inhaled the vapor of like eucalyptus or a combination of eucalyptus with a few other different herbs or even rubbed it on my temples, I've gotten like instant pain relief through the reduction of pressure. I'm just wondering if those terpenes are like heading into your nasal and your olfactory and somehow releasing pressure.

BubblemanWhich would release pain?

SpeakerReduce pain? That could very well be, right? We're scratching the surface. It's awesome. We know what works.

BubblemanWe're not doctors or chemists. I mean, Mark is, but... That's awesome. With the dadlicious shirt.

Etienne FontanThe rest of us were just curious donors.

BubblemanYes. Oh, I know what I wanted to do. I wanted to give a shout out to Rethink Breast Cancer here in Canada. They are doing a panel on the 19th of April. That's the day before 420 for those of you that, you know, didn't know 19 comes before 20. And it's going to be a cool event. I'm sitting on the panel. There's a bunch of cool doctors and there's a breast cancer survivor and it's moderated by Allison Gordon who used to work with Rethink Breast Cancer.

BubblemanSo if you're in Toronto on that date, come check us out. Tickets are free I believe. You just got a VIP because it's obviously going to fill up. It's not a huge venue. And that's in Toronto. So I just wanted to give those guys a shout out. You can check it out on their website, Rethink Breast Cancer. I'm not sure if it's .org or .com, but Google will show you nonetheless.

BubblemanNonetheless, nice to see all these different sort of groups coming out of the woodwork and involving themselves with cannabis because those types of organizations are much more mainstream than the organizations that the majority of us have come from. You must see that with Harborside going as mainstream as it is that you are interacting more often with people that are maybe new to the cannabis industry or from another industry that is now welcoming cannabis into its industry.

BubblemanDo you see that? Oh yeah.

DannyAll the time, actually. And I'm actually doing a 420 wellness retreat with a bunch of, with a yoga instructor who does yoga and cannabis. There's going to be a puff and paint, a dab bar, and massage and cannabis as well. But I do also see it with, when I travel with Steve to the Arcview conferences, I see it more on the investor side. A lot of people are leaving their corporate jobs and becoming green and learning how to So what do you think of

BubblemanYou know, we fight for years and years and years, decades to normalize cannabis, to get the mainstream audience involved in cannabis. And then, I mean, I even feel it a little myself because I've also been to some of these more corporate experiences where the investors are coming out of oil and gas and shale and rock and all these different things. And there's kind of little bits of strange feelings sometimes.

BubblemanI don't want to say totally creepy, but it's just kind of like you get this action protection coat on. It's like, who are these guys? And it's like, how do we overcome inviting a group of people in and then being offended by them once they get in the door? Because there are good investors out there. Is it just a matter of sifting through the bubble bags and finding the 90 micron?

BubblemanAnd getting rid of the 190 and the 160 investors or what is it? Because it's a strange paradigm that's happening in the cannabis industry where I think prohibition was such a strong division that even in the legalization or the decriminalization of the plant, there's still these sides in that legal platform that's happening and it's...

SpeakerIsn't there a difference, Mark, between people that are getting into it because they love it and they care about it and opportunists that just see an opportunity to make money and not go to jail?

BubblemanYes, but what I'm saying is those people that wanted it to not go to jail, they fought and fought and fought, well... I guess that we kind of invited them in is all I'm saying. Now I'm not saying all of them and I agree with you. I would rather have a weight. I'm terrified of that money and I avoid it almost like the plague. Because it scares me, people coming in just to invest in something that's more like of a money thing, but yet isn't that how all things in the world happen?

BubblemanOr do you have to really be into wheat to farm wheat? And do you have to really be into... No, dude, it's just called the world. We've been so dis-fucking-connected from it that now that we're entering it, it's freaking us out, or at least it's freaking me out.

DannyUm... Well... There you go. Um... I don't know, I guess I feel like in any industry there are people that you're going to have to weed in and out and make sure that they're good people and they're bad people regardless of what the industry is. So it can be a little scary, but to take this industry to certain levels at least on dispensary and on, you know, products...

DannyThank you for joining us.

DannyThank you for joining us.

DannySo I really just feel like it's just finding a good group of investors, and just like any industry, there's good ones out there and there's bad ones, but making sure that you go to networks and events that do, like I say, look for, you know, they check the backgrounds of the investors and make sure that they're not scams and fakes.

BubblemanYeah, that's great. I mean, that's basically what you want to hear right there, and I think you nailed it with to get to a certain... In any industry, in any idea, in any concept, there's always a point where if you want to take it to that next level or that next, next, next level, you're going to probably be in a situation where you require investment. Very few people produce that kind of investment internally on their own through their idea that they're trying to get to that level.

BubblemanIt's great for the ones that do, but for the ones that don't, they're going to be needing to look for investment. So that's pretty cool that you guys, that they have that, you know, Filtering and making sure they do backgrounds on the investors.

DannyJust like you do employees as well.

SpeakerYep.

Etienne FontanIt is. But, you know, we've raised this child of Canada. Some people are like, are you afraid of all these different money and industry things coming in now? It's like, well, you know, we kind of had no say in it. We just wanted to raise this child. Now what actually happens once this child grew up is we have some control over, but it's going the way of, you know, the way it's going to go.

Etienne FontanSo buyer beware.

SamAnd when it's grown up, it will make up its own mind. I want to see cannabis normalized. And by normalized, I mean in every way, just like any other commodity.

SpeakerExactly. Agreed.

SpeakerYeah, and I think that when that happens, it's not going to be the same profit structure we know now, and all these people talking about, you know, saving small farmers and stuff. Got to get realiztic to the fact that you'll have the right to grow it, but it won't be worth very much when you do.

BubblemanYeah, it's just going to be entered into this mainstream world we live in as an agricultural product. It'll be a raw product that gets produced, and then the people that want to take that raw product and produce it into... You know, other great things, that's wonderful, but yeah, I mean, I'm all about bringing the price down, down, down, down, down, down.

Etienne FontanAnd with prohibition, you know, going away, we're only going to see that, and we're only going to continue to see the price, you know, like other agricultural crops, race to the bottom. That's just how it's going to be, and... Where, again, everybody is still working their numbers and a lot of states are looking at these numbers under the false prohibition eyes. You know, the inflated prohibition prices that currently exist and think that that's going to continue into the future.

Etienne FontanAnd as we know, that's not going to happen.

SpeakerYou muted yourself there, Bubble Man.

BubblemanI was reading from the chat. I was actually sort of talking to myself. I was... Sorry.

BubblemanIt's all these damn bubble hits I can't keep up.

Etienne FontanDon't blame the drugs.

Etienne FontanLet's have a rip.

BubblemanLet us have a rip.

BubblemanI wonder where Tony is this morning. Mr. Sleeper Inner.

SpeakerHave you seen the new Lift Cannabis magazine, the first issue, Mark?

BubblemanI think they sent me a link to it. I haven't looked at it yet. Is that it there?

SpeakerI picked it up. The Future of Cannabis in Canada. It's got a pretty good content list. Cannabis or Chronic Pain, Out of the Dark, The Future of Cannabis in Canada, Out of the Dark. Yoga and Cannabis. Pretty good little magazine. Lots of good little articles in here for the first issue. So conferences and stuff like that. It's good to see a magazine again with just all cannabis related.

SpeakerJust good information here.

BubblemanYeah, that's the same group that's throwing the panel that I'll be speaking at with Tony at the end of May. May 28th and 29th in Toronto, that's the Lyft conference. That should be, we'll have a booth as well, so if you're out there and you want to come check out the Terps or some melty treats, we will be there.

BubblemanYummy. Time for a dab.

Etienne FontanBong rip, cause D ain't here.

SpeakerYeah, not sure where he is this morning.

BubblemanWell, I am actively working on getting myself down to the U.S. and I'll be doing a little tour down the West Coast as well.

SpeakerI just spent the last week with the Dronkers Brothers. They just flew, they fly out this morning actually. It was really nice. We drove all the way up to Mendocino and visited friends. It was awesome. Sounds like a good trip. Yeah, it is a good time, actually. You know, lots of wonderful things happening in the world of cannabis.

BubblemanYeah, I can't wait to kind of get down and do a little, like, West Coast trip from basically Bellingham down.

SpeakerNice, and it'll be you and I going on a road trip. That'll be a lot of fun. I'd love you to come down here, and we'd go down south and go other places. It'd be a lot of fun.

BubblemanOh yeah, some great places to be able to hit across the U.S. I've been waiting to do the Full Melt Tour for like almost 20 years.

SpeakerWhen you say it that way, we almost got to get a Class A and wrap it up, you know, just bubble man down the side. That won't get us pulled over very much.

BubblemanWe'll film all the times we get pulled over. The cops in Oakland will just look at us and go, fucking crazy. Look at these fucking guys, eh? But I think it'll be like Nevada or Texas probably wouldn't be so good.

SpeakerI don't think we should go to Texas.

BubblemanI think we should do a huge tour in Austin.

SpeakerI don't think much farther than, I don't think Maricopa County and I don't think much farther east than New Mexico. Stay out of Oklahoma for sure.

BubblemanOh, God. Dude, Oklahoma. I always thought that... You guys ever watch Pot TV back in the day? There was this kid, Tommy Morgan, and he did a show from Oklahoma. He was balls to the walls, this kid, man. And this was back in the 90s.

Etienne FontanYeah, there's a couple places in Oklahoma where there's deadhead communities. Lawrenceville, I believe, if I recall. And stuff like that where a lot of people are big time stoners and they're just in very small pockets, but it's only one or two towns and the rest of the state's scary. Yeah.

SpeakerYeah, I'm not saying there's not good times. Yeah, I'm not saying there's not good people there. I'm sure there's great people everywhere. But somewhere that will put you away from life for simple possession of hashish is kind of rough. It's not the people we're avoiding. It's the cop people we're avoiding.

BubblemanI think they gave Will Foster 36 years for growing and then another 60 years on top of that because he had kids in the house.

Etienne FontanYeah, I was there for his actual sentencing and actually held his kids as he was sentenced to life. And it was 96 years, right? Yeah, it was just gut-wrenching and then to go out and then just stand out and look and be free and realize that he's had to spend the rest of his life. Fortunately, he was released and he is free and was able to hug him when he came out.

Etienne FontanBut still, that was in 94, I do believe, when he was sentenced and There were only a handful of us that were actually there and it was just gut-wrenching to just pull these kids as they just bawled.

SpeakerYou know, it was just... On the positive side of his story, you know, there was a lot of pressure that went up to the governor that actually got him to sign the pardon to let him out and commute that guy's sentence. And if more people demanded the release of their family event... Their family members and their friends and stuff, they would see it. They would see action.

SpeakerI mean, that's the one thing. We can't be passive about the fact that they've locked up so many good people. True. You know, there's no real victory in Colorado or Washington or Oregon or anywhere until they release the pot prisoners. I mean, it would be like legalizing, you know, it would be like ending slavery, but just leaving the slaves that were still You know, leave them in jail.

SpeakerLeave them locked up. And it's wrong. And we've got to realize it's wrong at some point. And we really do have to scream at the top of our lungs for these people to be let out.

Etienne FontanBecause there are people right now doing life sentences for cannabis right now, people. And if you don't think so, you're kidding yourselves. So there's a lot of work. And there are people trying to make people aware of these, we call them pot POWs, you know, because we consider them prisoners of the war on drugs, you know. We're all subjective to it. You know, I'm a veteran of Gulf War, but I'm also a veteran of this goddamn drug war as well.

Etienne FontanAs funny as you are as well. And we still have a lot of work to do. So, you know, there are prisoner writing programs. There are organizations out there making people aware. So plug in where you can.

DannyAt Harborside, we also have an activist station where our patients can sit there and they can donate an hour worth of their time and write to the POWs. And by doing so, we will give them $17 worth of credit towards medicine to help them out.

DannyAnd it's another program of ours to help out patients who are in need of medicine and to also gain a really good pen pal type of relationship with some of these POWs who've been incarcerated. A lot of them who've come out have also sent us thank you letters just because they had someone to interact with during that time while they were incarcerated. So I know at least at Harborside we do offer a program like that.

DannyI'm sure you do similar at BPG.

SpeakerWhen I was in prison, the mail call was like lifeline. And honestly, I was super fortunate because so many people would write to me and reach out and such. But it really does make a difference in a dark day. And anyone who likes writing, it really is nice to kind of adopt a prisoner or write to somebody. There's plenty of websites you can find them at, actually.

SpeakerIt really does a lot of good.

BubblemanYeah, one of my first customers, my first customer ever that bought bubble bags on Overgrow, his name was High Grade. And he was kind of like the big man on campus back then. He did these bubbler buckets and he was killing it. Like people were like constantly wanting to learn from this guy. He was really the, how I learned about sharing my information online. But when he got arrested and sent to jail, I would write them and send them cash for commissaries and send them books and magazines.

BubblemanYears later, he still thanked me for it. To me, it was just like kind of the least I could do, but it's the foundation of my company too. My first customer went to jail. He's more than a customer. He's like an online friend at that point. That's what's been unique about Bubble Bags, becoming friends with all these different people that started out as customers. Became like really great friends all over the world.

BubblemanThere's hash makers that want me to show up so they can show me their hash. And man, I want to. That's why I want to do the U.S. tour, Todd. Be ridiculous. Full mouth in all the states.

SpeakerIn time, I think we will, bro. For sure. Teaching cultivation and hash making, we will have a blast.

BubblemanThey're both symbiotic. It's hard to do one without the other.

SpeakerWhen I did Rhode Island, when I did the convention center in Rhode Island, actually, you were the one I contacted, remember, and you sent me all the photos, and I actually did that each day. I talked about the methodology after processing is done and that you get to turn your goodies into mine candy. Yeah, dude. That's for sure.

BubblemanWe got almost a thousand people watching live right now.

Bubbleman941 peeps out in... Hey, Sam, we're the Hayes Brothers Brothers.

SpeakerCan you tell us more about Hayes? Oh, I've muted Sam. Please unmute, Sir Sam.

SamCan you hear me, Sam? I unmuted me. We're the Hayes Brothers Brothers, and did you hear my question? Yes, can you hear me? We can. Okay. No, the Hayes Brothers were not brothers. The first Hayes brother, I think they were called that in High Times Magazine, or maybe they were even referring to some people who bought a bunch of Hayes and took it to New York. I'm not exactly sure, but whatever.

SamThe two Hayes growers, what people called the Hayes brothers, were the first guy started it up in the hills in Santa Cruz, up in the The first hayseeds were all

SamSo they were a Colombian gold, a Colombian green, and a Colombian what he called blob. And those were just crossed in the future, and that's why there was all those different colors of lime green, green, purple haze, and silver blue. So it was from But those three pure Colombian landrace varieties was what created the original Hayes. And for a while they were both growing it. The poster was made by the second Hayes brother, who was not, he didn't make up the name, but he made the poster.

SamAnd the first Hayes brother, after a few years, quit growing Hayes because it was inbred and unpredictable. And he used to get skunk seeds from me because they were more dependable and more predictable. Sad but true.

SpeakerHow dare you getting in the way of our haze.

SamWell, I'm the one who saved it, remember?

SpeakerSo were those haze brothers more... No, I give you full credit, and I didn't mean to cut you off, Mark.

BubblemanSorry. Were those haze brothers... More known for the growing of the strains, or were they getting imported and taking those seeds and those were becoming the strains?

SamThe first one got Colombian seeds from three different good Colombian lines and then grew it. And then the next year, the next year, he grew it in the greenhouse down in Santa Cruz, and that worked a lot better because they're such late season stuff. And the other grower always had a greenhouse. So Hayes was always growing greenhouses except for the first year or two.

BubblemanInteresting. Yeah, I wasn't sure if they were just guys that were like getting kilos of nice... No, no, they were not breeders.

SamThey were growers. And, I mean, the second Hayes brother, the guy who made the poster, the R.L.G. gentleman... He's got his initials on the poster. To tell you the truth, he usually has his girlfriend growing it for him.

SpeakerOh, nice. That's always cool. It doesn't matter who's watering the plants, in my humble opinion. But, you know, so how did we get to the point where we, you know, started seeing things like what became famous, like NL5 hazes and stuff?

SamWell, haze was given to Neville, and Neville crossed it with Northern Lights.

SpeakerI understand that. Was haze given to Neville as seeds, or was haze given to Neville as a cutting?

SamI gave him seeds, he bought seeds, and he was given one male, I remember. Maybe a female, but I remember a male for sure.

SpeakerThen who did the sexing and selecting on the male, and what are good indicators for a hazing?

SamWell, he might have had other males and other females from the seeds.

SpeakerSo, I'm right. I know he did a majority of his breeding using the male. Obviously, the NL5 by Hayes was a female NL5 by a male Hayes.

SamHe later told me he really liked the one I gave him.

BubblemanI want to welcome Soil Grown and his crew into the Hash Church. How's it going, dude? Hey, what's up, guys? Nice to be back on.

SpeakerIt's been a while.

BubblemanYeah, yeah, it's definitely been too long. You guys got a schwack of heady glass on the table or what? Yeah, a little bit. A couple of pieces. A little sesh for the hash church. Excellent. Well, we're always ready to blow smoke. I mean, at least I have been. I don't know. The rest of the panel has been puffing very tough.

SpeakerHey, can I do a little repeat, man? Can I ask you what got you to squish a bud? Where was that epiphany, bro? Well, basically I ran out of my hash to squash because when I first started squashing it was with the hash. Um, ran out of my notes, ran out of my notes, and uh, just came to my head to try a bud. I didn't think it was going to work.

SpeakerI had my father-in-law sit next to me, and when I pressed it out, we were both freaking, freaking out. We couldn't believe it happened, so, yeah, that was the spark of it right there. Yeah, dude. When did you squish that bud, bro? Uh, I think it was like sometime in February or January 2015? And then like... Could it just be a year ago? It's just a year ago?

SpeakerYeah, dude.

BubblemanYou came on Hash Church 25 and told us about it.

SpeakerSo when you, me, and Jeff were in Barcelona, that was like weeks later?

BubblemanNone of them had ever seen it in Barcelona. That's why they were all tripping.

SpeakerYeah, me included. Remember? We were doing the awards for the Secret Cup and we're sitting there squishing buds. Jeff was over in the corner with his, you know, hair press. That was great the whole time, turning out dab after dab after dab for hours.

BubblemanSo, Soil Grown, when you started, when you were Squish and Hash, did you get that from Compassion on the ICMAG thread?

SpeakerActually, no, I didn't. I heard about, I didn't know about Compassion until you had mentioned them. But I knew about the double boiler and the no melts. I've never tried the technique before, but I had heard of it.

SamAnd were you squashing water hash or dry soap? I was water hash.

BubblemanNice.

SamWell, I can say this. It was a phenomena in the way it swept over because Like Bubble Man said, you know, eight, ten years ago, I tried the compassion method, but it really sucked and it was almost impossible to make it pure because we weren't using a filter, you know, any sort of a screen.

SpeakerYeah, I definitely say once I heard about the screens, which I heard about that from Cannabis Reverend Jeff Church, so that's when I started using the screens, dude. It's a whole other level when it comes to hash. I still prefer to use no screens for flower rosin.

SpeakerIt's just the way I do it, but I think most would agree. I mean, it gets costly, unproductive when it comes to using screens. Unless you're doing it in the decontamination process towards the end, it makes sense rather than hand cleaning, but I still prefer to hand clean the majority of my work. Nice. You got it down. But I would say the one year of Rawson, I like to just say it as, you know, the day it was presented on Ash Church.

SpeakerIt's just easier. It's marked. There's a timeline for it. It's recorded.

BubblemanYeah, you were definitely, like, fucking telling a lot of people. I think 25,000 people have watched that episode.

SpeakerOh, that's awesome. That's crazy. I'm just looking at my timeline. I did a video at the VHO March 22nd. It's got 320,000 hits on it. And it was all fueled through you. I couldn't believe how it was helping me. It was awesome, man. Thumbs up, dude. I mean, I love that. I squish every day because of you, man. And I squished everything. So I've really learned a lot from it.

SpeakerA lot of it. And that's why I still like my hair iron.

SpeakerI mean, I just like to squish my buds like every day, right?

SamIt's nice.

SpeakerIt's definitely... We did something different yesterday. We took terpenes with hash and then we rosined that and it was rosined terp hash. It was amazing. Really? Yeah.

SpeakerAnd then rosined that. Yeah. And it was crazy. It was just another level again, right? You just keep going more and more. It's like Definitely a lot of fun. Yeah, respect. Thanks, man. Love it.

SpeakerYeah, so I got my little...

Etienne FontanI got my hash press here. I still love it. Thank you very much.

BubblemanYeah. The rosin stamp. Stamping it up with the rosin stamp. Well, it's come a long way, hasn't it, in the last few... I'll tell you.

Etienne FontanIt's come a long... Yeah, I'm amazed at how fast it evolved. Yeah, I mean, we carry rosin products at BPG. I know they're over at Harborside as well, you know, so it's the patients heard and listened and actually responded accordingly, and also the producers. I mean, we have to thank them, you know, for actually making it and pressing it, because I know it's somehow difficult and thankless work, but it's greatly appreciated.

BubblemanOh yeah. You can get down. You can start producing pretty good.

SpeakerOne of these made its way up to me. These little iron soil grown from a buddy of mine. Oh yeah, nice. You got them happening. That's awesome.

BubblemanYou going to introduce your buddies to us, the Beard Brothers next year or what?

SpeakerSo this is my cousin Joel, this is my cousin Matt. Nice, keeping it in the family. And this is the team Sasquatch right here. We developed a new rosin press.

BubblemanI saw that.

SpeakerYeah, yeah.

BubblemanWe're going to have to check it out for sure. I'm sorry? I said we'll have to check it out.

SpeakerYeah, definitely, definitely.

BubblemanYeah. The people that released the technique would probably design a pretty good press.

SpeakerYeah, it definitely works.

BubblemanI'd like to think so. I mean, I definitely know it's not going to work worse than what you were doing before.

SpeakerYeah, no doubt, no doubt, man. That's not the way we design things.

SpeakerYeah.

SamAnd do you find any varieties that are high in resin that just don't squish and yield good shit?

SpeakerYeah, I mean, so as far as like what you're saying, like maybe a flower that looks covered in resin, but you squash it and there's not much of anything that comes out? Correct. Yeah, yeah, most definitely. I find that a lot with like, kanji seem to be really common with that. Majority of cookies that I see, fire cookies. I mean, I've had cookies that push 20 plus percent, but I'd say on the majority, yeah, definitely, like 12 to 15 percent on average.

SpeakerTangy's like to be 12 to 16 percent on average, 12 being its average, you know.

SamTangy may be low yield, but I sure do like it.

SpeakerYeah, that's why I won't cut that one out, even though it yields very low. It's one of the tastiest rosins. I mean, as for my palate, I love it.

SamI've tried Squash in a few, and I got Diddly Squit, and then other ones were quite decent.

SpeakerYou don't know if it's you, or if it's the butt, or if something happened to the press, or what's going on until you... You pull out a bud that's your normal 25 percenter and then it shows you what it does, you know, then it's just like, ah, the variables all point at the flower that you pressed that put out 12 percent, you know?

BubblemanYeah, dude. Let's hear it for the flower that you first pressed that actually squished, because I'll tell you, when Tony and I were set up in Jamaica... Like the first five people that brought buds, all we did was make crispy cookies to give them back without a single drop of bread. We were like, damn, dude, this is some fucked up shit. Like these guys are looking like we're pressing up buds.

BubblemanAnd then this dude, Omar, walked up and was just like, hey, what's up? I got some bud. And we're like, all right. We were all deflated, like I guess so. Like, yeah, give us the bud. We put it in the parchment. It was the best. Open it up, it's just like someone blew their nose all over the thing. I couldn't believe how much it pressed out. Most of the dudes with their little crispy cookies in their hands were still there.

BubblemanLike three or four of the five dudes were still there. So they got to see that it worked. I was like, why did it work with his? And I'm like, bro, because that is the word of God, that his bud has resin on it.

SpeakerYeah, because out there, how often, you've probably seen a lot of stuff maybe that squashed out and didn't squash out too much. I mean, I don't know about that.

BubblemanI've never seen it until Jamaica. You know, it's not going to be as common there with the fire.

SamDo you find there's a relationship between how dry it is? Does it get too dry or too wet? There you go.

SpeakerOh, too wet. Too wet's bad, yeah. People talking about... Live rosin, whatever the hell that means. I mean, I guess if you want to wash fresh frozen, dry it out, and then press it out and call it live rosin, but no, you can't press a fresh herb. Go ahead and try and watch the water. Watch the water.

BubblemanI tried it. It didn't work. Thank you for coming out and saying that, by the way, because, you know, I just think it's pretty fucking weird.

SpeakerI've pressed fresh bud and yeah, it just kind of gives like color and it doesn't do anything.

BubblemanYou were the one that popularized it, John. You were the first one I'd ever seen rosin.

SpeakerFresh, fresh, fresh bubble hash, yes.

BubblemanYou called it frozen, F-R-O-S-I-N. You had a name for it and everything. It was one of the reasons I was like.

SpeakerThat's fresh frozen wash. All right, backstabbing. Not fresh bud, Mark. Fresh Bud doesn't give you anything. I remember Johnny calling it frozen. And that's when I found the hash that was in the freezer that was dried in the freezer and I squished that and it gave me amazing results. That's why I started leaving my bubble hash in the freezer after I make it for months now with them pressing it.

SpeakerIt's like a freeze dry. I really like the flavor that much better and that's what I get into. So when I make my bubble hash and then I pick the patties and I freeze that and then squish that later, I mean, I did that for a while, and I stopped doing that. It was just a flavor for a while, right? Can I show you something here? I did rosin last night.

SpeakerAt least probably a quarter pound of it. And all kinds of little... These are thick. These are thick pucks, so they're going to look dark.

BubblemanYou've got to press those out to real nice, big, thin circles, and they will look so nice.

SpeakerAbsolutely. I did a whole... A whole pack of them last night. I did it all out of bubble hash. And, uh, fuck, I'm so impressed with it. I just love it. And you know what? Keep those globs as pops as you store them. Pardon me? As you store those globs, depending on how long you sit on them, keep them as globs of rosin. Don't press them out to slabs yet.

SpeakerOtherwise, I feel like you're exposing more surface area, allowing more to degrade at a faster rate rather than keeping it in a glob, storing it in an airtight container at proper temperatures. You're slowing down everything. I just feel like slab it out when it's ready to go. You're oxidizing it for sure.

BubblemanDoes your shit stay stable though for like months on end if you press out hash or bud? It's like you've got your moisture levels down so it's not clouding and buttering out on the inside if the product gets old.

SpeakerThe old hash was cured in my shop in the pizza boxes, parchment paper for a week with my wood stove in my shop. And the temperature up to make that happen. I did try to press a little bit out too soon, and it just turned to really ugly looking mud that kind of had a real... It was gross. I didn't like it at all. It needed its secure time.

SpeakerAnd I just was excited to try it out because instead of using my old... The good old fucking pressure where you're standing on the fucking thing and standing on...

SpeakerI got an arbor press, a one-ton arbor press, put a pad on my handle there, glued the hair straightener to the piece of wood on that arbor press and just blast it down. It just fucking squishes it out like three, four grams at a time, no problem. With those little pouches from Bubble Man's, I fucking was pressing for two nights straight until four in the morning. I got at least a pound, if not a half pound of rosin right now.

SpeakerOf ice cream and OG Kush. It's fucking killer. Love it. Thanks, though. You're the man, buddy. You fucking showed us all. Much love.

BubblemanSo does your product stay stable soil grown, like with your moisture content when you're using properly dried hash and properly cured bud that you could leave it out of a freezer for months and it wouldn't like turn to butter?

SpeakerI think there's a lot of variables to that. I mean, it's going to be up to you how you're pressing, the temperature that you're pressing at. Yeah, definitely the moisture content left in the hash or the flour, that's very important. More commonly with hash, you're going to have that problem. With flour, it's a little easier as long as it's got a good week dry. You're not really going to have much of that problem, but...

SpeakerThank you for watching.

SpeakerCool temps, keep it away from air, no oxidizing, because it does seem to degrade faster, but I ran into my cases of some diesels or the candies are pretty stable, like certain strains that are extremely stable, and I'm not 100% on the variables of all that, because I didn't really pay attention to all those, whether it was because it was so dry or what the case may be, how long it was cured for.

SpeakerBut I do notice that like flowers that are fresher, so like you harvest and you dry and now you press within like let's just say 12 days, now you have something, a lot of the times you're going to find a sappy rosin I feel. And I don't know if it's just me, but that seems to be the way it goes. But when I have something that gets a good dry, a decent little cure, maybe it's been jarred up for let's say a month, You seem to find more of a stable rosin, and in not all cases, but it seems to be more optimum to press with a little bit of a cure on it.

SamAnd do you find that rosin that has a higher terpene content naturally will also absorb water from the atmosphere easier? In other words, in high humidity areas.

SpeakerThat's a good question. I'm not really sure on that.

SamSome terpenes are hydroscopic.

SpeakerYeah, but that makes sense. So you think they would absorb them during the process?

SamIf the terpenes are exposed to an area that's got enough moisture in the air, yes.

BubblemanBut think of how small the percentage of terpenes would be on that.

BubblemanSay that again? I'm just thinking that the amount of, if there were particular terpenes inside the wax membrane that were hydroscopic, I just wonder what actual percentage it would be. It would be such a minute, minute percentage. I think that the water inside the wax membrane is what produces these buttering out effects more often than not. While you mentioned hash, most people still don't know how to properly dry hash.

SamI think you've seen my dry sift that was bone dry in a film can, and when it was opened in a hot, humid place, it lumped up.

BubblemanWell, yeah, because it melted. It was like 95 degrees or 100 degrees, and it melted into a pop. I've seen it.

SpeakerI feel the sap, the sappy, sappy rosin, a lot of times you'll notice it's extremely terpy, and I think the role that that is is probably the difference in terpenes, your sesquiterpenes and your monoterpenes. It seems like the monoterpenes are more like water, and those seem to make it impossible to collect, and you have that extremely flavorful, but... Messy rosin, you know? And I don't know if that's exactly what it is, but it seems to be what I observe and what I think.

SamYou can get rosin and terpenes and make a liquid that's usable in those vape pens.

SpeakerYeah. Oh yeah, most definitely. I make vape pens for myself. I'll just use rosin and terpenes only.

SpeakerYeah, I would say that, you know, I definitely have a lot of rosin that's flower rosin that butters out, and it seems to happen a lot more often than with the hash rosin. With hash rosin, it seems like there's just that lower amount of terpenes in there, or maybe the terpenes that are responsible for the buttering have gone out, or maybe it's a little bit drier, but...

SpeakerAcross the board with flower rosin, it butters up eventually. And it could be just, you know, it's more humid here in Seattle where I'm at, but I think that it's really, you know, the terpier rosins, as those terpenes are evaporating out of it, it causes the crystallization of the cannabinoids in there. And I think that that's really what buttering is. Right. Rob explained it to me. It's just basically molecules moving away from each other.

SpeakerThe lighter terpenes are moving away from the heavier cannabinoids. So you're going to get separation and nothing's really stable even, you know. It's just a matter of time as we deal with it. And it makes sense because if you dissolve the terpenes in that solvent called water when you made your water hash, then you wouldn't have the terpenes present that you would if you just squished the bud.

SpeakerExactly, exactly. You know, and that goes right to what you were saying about pressing a little bit warmer with flour will be less butter prone. Because you're going to have more protein loss, you know. It's just, I mean, we press at low temperatures and a lot of strains, they will be buttering straight out of the press. Like, you know, we use the enchilada technique where it's, you know, kind of directional flow out of the plates and it's literally spitting butter as soon as it leaves the plates, which, I mean, it's not on there very long either with the directional flow, so.

SpeakerNice.

SpeakerSuper turkey.

MrHey, Phil. Dr. Mark here. What's going on, man? Hey, what's up, Mark? Hey, what's going on? Hey, what kind of test results have you seen? Have you guys done HPLC on any of these?

SpeakerNo, we haven't, actually. Probably going to be doing a lot more testing this year. Really, I did a little bit in the beginning of last year, but definitely got a lot more development this year. I'm hoping to see a lot more tests to throw up for everybody and find out a little more about it.

MrDr. Yeah, I was amazed. Again, I went in with a very open mind and wanted to see, based on Johnny B's result, how much fat or waxes come out in just using a hair straightener, parchment paper method. And I don't see any waxes or lipids or none that I can detect. And my HPLC purity is, I mean, it's 100% pure THCA. I mean, I estimate it's more like maybe like 96 or 98%.

MrIt's hard to tell because the other cannabinoids are so minor. This was a hash plant that yields... Anywhere between 18 to 20% just routinely squishing nugget that you would smoke. So, I mean, it's just, it was amazing to me, first of all, that yield, I'm seeing this high of purity of THCA. I mean, the HPLC doesn't see anything else in there. And I was amazed. And I went back and looked at it.

MrI said, man, we have to repeat this result because This is extremely significant because I would expect, and again, this is mostly on conversations that we've had with Jeff and everybody else, mostly here on Hatch Church, is trying to figure out what fraction of lipids and waxes there may be in rosin. And again, when we looked, we didn't see it at this particular sample, done this particular way.

MrWe didn't see anything. It's basically all THCA and like 96% pure. That's pretty nice. I don't know what level of purity you're seeing or if anybody else has any other results to share.

SamTo be clear, Mark, you didn't see any THC, just THCA. Yeah. That's odd because when John did his analysis for rosin, he found a mixture of THC and THCA.

MrOkay, you've got to remember that he's shooting it on a GC and I'm shooting it on HPLC, so that's going to give a different result.

BubblemanWould it also matter that one of you is a trained doctor in chemistry and the other is not?

SpeakerSo I'm just reading things, you know, and I'm looking at what the machine's telling me.

BubblemanNo, I'm asking Mark, like, can anyone just do this stuff? We don't need to get a degree.

MrWe can go do this stuff and we'll be just as good at it, or is there really... No, no, no, I'm just sort of just sharing the result because I was amazed myself that the level of purity is that we're not seeing a huge wax... There's like very, very little waxes. This particular result says that. Now, any result can be different for any number of reasons. The pressure, the herb, the temperature, the moisture content in the bud you're squishing, whether you're squishing bud or whether you're squishing hash.

MrI mean, all of those are going to make a big impact. And I think the way that Jeff had described it, which is not just a A steam distillation, but it's a thermal extrusion of the tricone contents through this pressure process. Again, I was amazed just like I think everybody is that the amount of wax that's transferred in that process appears to be very, very small, at least by this particular experiment.

SpeakerYes, I would say one thing about what you were saying there about THCA, 100% THCA being in there, not much THC that's decarboxylated. We've seen, you know, activations as low as I think it was like 3% activated on flower rosin. But then we've also seen things as high as, you know, 30%,

Speaker40% I think was the highest activation from just a rosin. And that was on a hash rosin, which the material was probably older. But I would say that from some really fresh flour, you're still going to have some D-carb for sure. It's not going to be just all THCA. So one thing I want to make mention of what I saw when I was doing some testing with the rosin and with the hash, and I actually did the Jamaican, and I tested the bubble hash before I rosined it, and it gave me my results, and there was nothing floating in the vial.

SpeakerThen I made rosin with it, and then I saw what looked like, which I've talked with Mark and a few people about what I saw floating in the vial, what looks like a wax or some kind of a lip, and that was floating in there. I've also seen it with different people who are making... Um, like shatters and stuff like that. I see the same thing when it's completely de-waxed and stuff like that.

SpeakerSo it goes to show me there was something left in there when I didn't see it with the bubble hash or the sift, but I have seen it once it's been heated in these other, uh, solvent or with these other extractions. So just, I'm kind of still trying to figure that out because I do see it in the methanol and when I mix it with ethanol, it then dissolves.

SpeakerSo, Yeah, questions, what are we seeing in there once it's being pressed, right? I've seen it with flour and with the hash once it's pressed, but not once the hash has been pressed.

MrAnd that tells us right there that it's technique specific, techniques and probably strain specific. It's going to matter definitely on different pressures and different temperatures, but this particular way, and again, this is nothing special, this is just a small Hair straightener, piece of parchment paper, small little nugget, a little bit bigger than what you would stuff in a bowl. Just real, yeah, exactly, John. Nothing special. I was amazed, and believe me, I didn't expect to see this result, but I just shared DHPLC with the folks in the, you guys can see it.

MrIt's amazingly clean, and there's very little decarboxylation. Thank you for watching.

SpeakerWell, I'm going to be doing cleaning out the scepter, cutting off a little piece of the column, getting it all recalibrated and done in the next week. And, you know, once again, get back in there and take a better look at what's going on in my garden and what's coming out of it. So I'm just showing you guys what I see and getting help from all you guys.

SpeakerIt's a process. It's cool to see it, though, that's for sure.

BubblemanAll right, you're on mic now. You're unmuted, Soil Grown. I had to mute you the entire time Mark was talking because your microphone was reverberating. If you had anything you wanted to say back, I had you muted there for a while, so I just wanted to let you know you're unmuted.

SpeakerAll right, is it still going? Is it bad?

BubblemanIs it still reverbing or what? No, no, because Mark's now muted, but if Mark starts talking, I have to mute your mic, so he was talking to you in regards to most of that information he was saying, and so I just, I thought the whole time you were going to be trying to answer, and I was like, it was a little stressful.

SpeakerEd Smith, it's more like knowledge to me. I mean, the things he talks about, it starts to get into the science of it, things that I can't do, testing and stuff. But as far as like, you know, THC and THCA, more commonly in my stuff, it's like 3%. I'd imagine the people that are getting higher is from pressing longer, whether it's lower temps, same temp, you know, that's where the decarbing is going to come from.

SpeakerWhat is your temp you like to use the most? Well, I don't like a set temp because I feel each strain has its own temperature and it's really important to find it. Some strains, you press out your 250 and the taste isn't that great, even though you're getting your max yield, but you want to drop down to, I drop down sometimes to like 220, 225, raise my pressing time by 12 seconds, 15 seconds max.

SpeakerBut it's really going to depend on how the rosin is reacting and how I feel the quality is of it. I mean, I don't go by numbers and testing, but I go by how my palate tastes it and how I feel off of it and the quality that I think it is. Well, fuck everybody. Bong rip. Let's do it.

BubblemanIt's all about that sweet spot with hash making. It happens in dry sifting. It happens in wet washing. It happens in rosin. People want to learn how to do it, but that answer was the perfect answer in the sense that the variables change. It's about learning how to find the sweet spot, not learning how to do a process over and over and over again that will reap the same rewards.

BubblemanBecause these processes change as you change the various, which is the plant matter that you use. Science.

SpeakerWith the results of the taste of what you're getting, drop the temperature a bit and see, and that's how you're looking for your optimal temperatures is in your taste palate. If it tastes off, it tastes a little burnt, it smells like burnt popcorn, that sort of thing, well you're running too high. Yeah, run it lower and get your palate going. My testing, I like to go from my yield first to see what I get.

SpeakerI can potentially get on my maximum return. And then I start playing with temperature down. So drop my temps down. I start at my low pressing time, so five seconds, and I climb up until I start reaching close enough to my yield time and the turps are meeting my expectations. So really it's just play with it. You have to play with it.

SamDo you feel that you can get a quality product and a good yield by using practically normal room temperatures but a multi-ton press?

SpeakerI haven't seen that. Say that again? A multi-what? A multi-what press? A multi-ton press? Say a 50-ton press. Okay. I just don't see it happening because... I mean, you have to lower the viscosity of that oil. You know, it's going to take time. It will start oozing out, but I just... Pressure creates heat.

SamPressure creates heat, but it doesn't create that much heat. Oh, yeah, it does. It makes it so hot you can't touch it.

SpeakerWell, yeah, but you'd need a lot more than 50 tons of pressure to get it hot. I mean, I've seen 50 tons done, and it definitely does not squish out of a flower at room temperature, even on a hot day. You know, you've got, like Soil Grown says, it's all about the viscosity of the constituents inside the matrix. So you've got to liquefy what you want to extrude out.

SamWhat about dry sift?

SpeakerIf you were to press out some sift, you see people putting heat to their sift before they press it out then to dab it. Well, that's kind of like telling you it needs to be warm. It lowers the viscosity of it in order to press it out. You press out sift, I just see it smashing in place. Okay, so Sam, I have one exception to that that I will note.

SpeakerAnd that was back at Spanibus last year when the great gardener brought his Barbara, I believe, and it was like the 90 micron six star hash. And I put it into the screen and started twisting on it. And it immediately, just with me twisting it to get it prepped to squeeze, it squirted rosin out. It was just amazing. But that was basically liquid. It was in Barcelona's heat, so that was a nice warm temperature inside the Spanibus.

SpeakerSo yeah, I think with dry sift, with your dry sift, I'm sure, Sam. Yes.

BubblemanNot to mention all the heat from all the fire we had at that event, Jeff.

SpeakerWell, I mean, Six Star is essentially oil, isn't it?

SamI call it micro-encapsulated oil.

BubblemanYou can touch it in your hands. It was, you know, I have Six Star here. It's like hard as a rock, all of these little hashes. They're hard as rocks, but the minute you touch them with your fingers, you can just squish them out. I mean, much the way the guys, you know, you see them with their little hair straighteners and parchment squishing out their hash to dab.

BubblemanPeople would like, oh, what's your technique? I'm like, I squeeze it between my fingers. It's just, it's just turning. It's quality.

SpeakerWell, they used to take fuds and just rub them in their hands to make cash, you know. Yeah, that's how you came up with the hash rosin technique, right? Wasn't it squishing out hits with a flat iron? Yeah, yeah, exactly. I messed up once, and that's when I noticed the separation. And back then, not even thinking, I just kind of put it all back together and smoked it.

SpeakerBut then just for some reason, when I started getting my melts, my half melts, that's when it clicked to me. Like, I remember that exact moment when it did that. So it's like, boom, something popped in my head and that just went from there.

BubblemanWell, there it is, dude. It's the fact that you enjoyed full melt and that when you didn't have full melt, you were like, fuck, this half melt is just like something's got to be right.

SpeakerSomething's got to happen. That's the roots.

BubblemanThat's the roots. I like that. Bone rip. Come on, everybody. Rip.

SpeakerThat's history right there, Soil Grown. What you just told us, that is the history of rosin, man. We have a slight modification of the rip tonight. I say rosin bong rip. Rosin bong rip. Yes, Skunk Man. Yes.

BubblemanI think there's a guy in chat named Joseph Hayes who says he's one of the Hayes brothers.

BubblemanNot true.

BubblemanI don't know. I kind of missed most of the conversation, but someone's like, yeah, try to get them. Our farm was in the newspaper in 1978.

BubblemanWe still live in the Soquel Hills area.

BubblemanI was asked to come here since people were discussing me and my brothers.

SamWell, he doesn't have a brother.

BubblemanYeah, I know, I think you might have missed that part of the story. Dennis Johnson was the creator of the haze train. I think everyone's just got the wrong story is the bottom line.

SamDennis Johnson? And he lived in Soquel and was busted in 78. Okay, whatever, it's not true.

BubblemanThey say they never gave the skunk man our seed.

SamYeah, he might have lived in Soquel and got busted there in 78, but he was not one of the two so-called Hayes brothers. Period. End of story.

BubblemanHe says there's eight brothers.

SamWell, okay.

MrThe Johnson brothers. One of the Hayes brothers.

SamWell, I guarantee you it's absolutely not true. They were both neighbors and friends of mine.

SpeakerAnd they didn't get busted in 78.

SamYes, and they were not busted in 78. Yes, we can see the wife in the background.

SpeakerI was there too.

BubblemanShe was there too. She knew them both. Exactly. Of course she was.

BubblemanSome good coughing happened in the background. You guys rocking some coffee coughs?

SpeakerWho's coughing there? My morning coffee.

SamAnd Phil, how many people have tried to tell you they invented rosin?

SamOh, man.

SpeakerAnd I don't know. It's like I don't like to toot my own horn, and I know that I didn't invent rosin.

SamYou know, it's been around forever. Well, you were pretty close to it. You were close to it because I guarantee you the rosin that Compotion was making, it sucked. I know because I tried like with 50 grams or maybe even 100 grams of dry sift, and I got diddly squat quality.

BubblemanThat first soil, that first compassion, those photos that he posted in like 2002 or whatever on Overgrow and then IC Mag later. He did it better than me. He did, absolutely. It was white. He scraped it off the sides of that bowl and he had like the shit.

SamSo did I, so did I. And I got a few really good hits, but it wasn't as clean.

BubblemanWell, you can't compare it to your... He's taken no melt in making some melt, or not melt, but oil. You're taking dry sift that doesn't need any help in any way, shape, or form.

SamWell, no, it was not the very, very best. It was more like 60% rather than 99.9% ads.

BubblemanOh, shit.

BubblemanNow I know where you're coming from.

SpeakerGood bong, Ripty. Yeah, I think if it was too milty, that was definitely an issue back then because it kind of like, you know, everything just smeared rather than staying in a ball because it was kind of, I don't know. Compassion's method never really worked well for me either, Sam.

SamOkay, well, that makes me feel a little bit better.

BubblemanBut guaranteed, it wasn't the words of his method that got you excited. It was the photos of hash that I'm talking about. That made you try that method in the first place.

SpeakerHe had it down himself. Yeah, I did. For sure. I looked at this and I was like, wow, why would you heat your hash up and do that? And then I see his milk shots and I'm like, I guess that's the good way to do it. It just never worked out that great. It was always too much work for too little reward and not high enough quality.

SamMy yield was terrible and the quality was, I mean it did melt and almost pretty much bubble, but it wasn't great. It wasn't clean.

BubblemanWell, it should melt, considering it's oil, not hash. There's no melt factor for oil. You don't use the starch.

SamWell, but it gets melty and bubbly.

SpeakerYeah, and you know, it's the same exact problem that I was running into. I mean, I was really stoked on the flower rosin thing as soon as Soil Grown came out with that, and I saw that on there. But trying to do the hash rosin, it really, you know, you could take a three-star and turn it into maybe a, A five star or a four star. And it was a lot better than it was before.

SpeakerBut until Space and I figured out the screen technique, it just, it wasn't worth it to hash Rausen. To make hash, yeah, into Rausen.

SamWell, I agree with you with the original method. It just Yeah, and once people started using screens, I guarantee you that people were getting some amazingly high yields.

SpeakerYes, the screen is going on. Go ahead. That just made it so much better for hash all around. It's like that was the missing link for the hash rosin, the screen.

SpeakerAbsolutely. When I was using the 25 micron bag that you just press the hash out with and everything and twisting it up, me and Mark did a video on that. A lot of that stuff went up into the, absorbed into the screen and stuff. Those nets, those little pouches are fucking perfect.

SamNow that's why you need the teabags.

SpeakerYeah, huge difference with the teabags. Night and day difference. Thank you for watching.

SpeakerAt first we actually folded it up kind of like a teabag. We took a half ounce and took a 25 micron screen and folded it all up. And that worked really well, but then I was doing these small amounts and so I ended up, you know, twisting it into the corner of a screen and that's, you know, the first technique that I showed everybody. Yeah, we used it.

SpeakerIt worked. But the teabags came and took it over. Like, dominated it. It was awesome. Yeah, as soon as it was, you know, wide knowledge that you need a filter, people tried everything. I've seen all kinds of things, you know, coffee filters and, you know, everything's been used to make rosin for sure. And there's silk tubes, stainless steel tubes, but I still use pretty much the same thing that I've always used.

SpeakerHey, well, everyone's talking and stuff. We're going to pan in on the press. We're going to do a little... Five grand press real quick, so we'll just have it up on our little screen while I'm not talking. I'm going to watch. I'm not talking. I'm watching. Let's check it out. Might as well load a ball. Ball and wrap it up. Rosen's ball and wrap it up. Might be a little soon.

SpeakerI'm doing a little hand press here. You must have very strong hands, John. Yeah.

SpeakerBong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip.

SpeakerBong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip.

SpeakerBong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip. Bong rip

Etienne FontanThat's taking my bong rip, sorry.

BubblemanStill answering. I'm trying to answer this guy in hashtags still going on about the eight Hayes brothers and how he's like was in high times in 83 and Skunkman, Sandwich. This guy's so fucking delusional that I'm going to shut him up in about a minute. He's shared all that he's going to share and he's just... Some people love to hijack the chat and it just continues to make...

SpeakerYeah, I think here we go.

Etienne FontanThat was good. Yeah, it's part of a community. You've grown a community whether you wanted to or not, and so this comes with it, you know. We're going to have all different kinds. Just like the movement, we've got all different kinds from those who are responsible to those who are absolutely batshit crazy.

BubblemanAsk him what year he created the haze. There's no way to ask him. He's been blocked and banned out of Hash Church. I got rid of him. Listen, it's important for the chat to be unmolested, to have a good chat. Negative energy people like to come in, and they like to focus the energy into their negative feelings, and then the chat starts getting bugged out. It's not good.

BubblemanYeah, we're missing the press. What, you guys are pressing over here?

BubblemanYou guys are totally fucking... Do another. Yeah, just do another. Yeah, we'll do another. Exactly, and then another and another.

SamWhat are you pressing, pot or resin?

SpeakerWe're pressing flowers with no screen. How much flower at a time? We like to do like between, for max yield, like four to seven. That last one was five. What temperature? Six. We're doing a six gram press on this next one.

Etienne FontanWhat temperature are you using for the press? Say that again? What temperature are you using for the press?

SpeakerCurrently we're at 250.

SpeakerAnd that's without testing and playing with this strain to find its right temp. That's just our starting range.

SamAnd you said before 12, 15 seconds?

SpeakerWell, I mean, at this temperature, you can get as low as like five seconds depending on how it likes it. But yeah, it ranges. It really depends on how it's reacting and how it's pulling. But probably more around like seven, eight seconds for this one.

BubblemanHow much bud you using in a shot?

SpeakerThis one we're going to do a six gram press. But you can do up to like 14 grams, but you just got to hold it longer. I prefer higher quality and max yield with smaller presses, like six gram presses.

SamI don't think I've ever pressed more than a gram or two.

SpeakerYeah, I remember those days. Backbreaking.

SamWell, it's just arm breaking.

SpeakerYeah, you got that strong forearm, right? Arm wrestlers arm. Yep. You got a good view. Yep.

SpeakerSquish. Nice color.

SamDo you guys make t-shirts that say she's a squisher? She's a squirter? She's a squirter.

SpeakerShe's a squisher. I love it.

SpeakerWell, I like squirters, that's all I know.

BubblemanWell, show us the squirts.

BubblemanGreasy.

SpeakerI had to get in on that. Hold on.

BubblemanLet's add a little light to that. That looks pretty clean. It doesn't look like you're going to have to clean too much out of there.

SpeakerNo, that's why I like to hand clean myself, because if you have some nice stuff that hasn't been, like, Thank you for watching.

SpeakerSix inch by ten inch. They're two inches thick and they're six by ten.

SpeakerOnly the bottom ones heated. We like to keep the top one closed and get, you know, allow it to absorb the heat.

MrWhat temperature are you heating it to?

SpeakerRight now we're at 250.

MrHave you tried going lower than 250?

SpeakerI'm sorry?

MrHave you tried going lower than 250?

SpeakerOh, yeah, yeah. We range from like 210 to 250. You know, it all depends on what you're pressing, you know, what the strain is, like we were talking about earlier.

SamIf you had two heated plates, do you think you could go to a lower temperature?

SpeakerDefinitely. Oh, yeah. I can already tell you off the bat that this flower is definitely going to, it's already asking for a lower temperature. But this is the first squash we've done of this today, so.

MrWhat kind of yield do you see, Phil?

MrWhat's that? What kind of yield are you seeing, like, in this? Typically, what kind of yield?

SpeakerOh, like 21, 25, depending on how much you're squashing at once. That's at 6 grams. But if you go down to as little as, like, a 2-gram squash, you can pull in, like, 30% return. Unbelievable returns.

SamWow.

SpeakerIt starts getting, you know, to process a pound, it starts taking a long time.

MrThat's amazing. 30% return.

SpeakerWell, I mean, we'll knock a pound out in easy three hours, if not much faster than that, you know. Three hours blazing. Yeah, that's blazing.

SamWhat you need to do is make a continuous operation rather than batch. Yeah, exactly. Somebody will if you guys don't.

SpeakerYeah. We intend to be that. Working on it. Oh, I thought about that conveyor belt.

BubblemanI think your best bet is to go to the Midwest and look out agriculture equipment because the equipment is pretty much already in place with you just seeing it and tweaking a little bit here and there because you want eventually, you know, Boots at the high-tech cannabis cup are good and all and selling online and whatnot, but eventually agricultural product that you wheel out to a field.

BubblemanYeah. Producing 55-gallon barrels of rosin that you can clean later by running it through a warmed-up screen.

SpeakerThat's what I'm thinking, heated rollers. Yeah. That's four more of your… You know, commercial mass amounts produced, but I mean, as for keeping it the best quality boutique, I think you're going to need man to be involved. You know, you need man there doing it.

BubblemanOf course, but I think man can do it on pretty big levels and still maintain an integrity to an end product. I know it for a fact. Most can't. No doubt. Some can. Be the one that can.

SpeakerYou're right.

BubblemanYeah.

SpeakerThere's a will and there's a way.

BubblemanYeah, you check out those seed extruders that like squeeze the oil out of flax seed and stuff. They're crazy. They have like crazy ton pressure and it squeezes the seeds out and the oil just comes out like a fucking juicer. You can't believe it. All stainless steel running nice. The way it flows basically makes it more viscous and keeps it going to where it is. Pretty incredible units out there.

BubblemanWell, you've got to think, if all this happened in one year, shit, that could happen in five.

SpeakerOh, yeah, no doubt. It's evolved so quickly in just one year. Look at what happened with BHO in six years. Insane.

BubblemanBHO actually came out in 99.

SpeakerThe development started, you know, started happening really fast in these last few years with the whole industry. We were doing an M&M container, M&M mini containers like a long time ago. Yeah, there you go.

BubblemanYeah, it's pretty trippy how, you know, I think really that BHO was the one that got so popular that it was really the fuel behind all these different extraction processes because So many people got into BHO that the people that started moving away from BHO really built the popularity of water hash and dry sifting over the course of the last five or six years that really paved the road for something like rosin to come into play.

BubblemanWhat was he doing? He was looking to turn his half melts into melt.

SpeakerOh yeah, definitely. And going the solventless way is the only reason why I got to where I am now, you know? I stopped smoking solvents a while back, so it's like washing and doing all that for myself is... That was it.

BubblemanThat's what I mean. It's like it's a weird thing because I've been doing this solventless thing for almost 20 years and it never caught on with my education and my sharing nearly as much as it caught on with people who themselves were into BHO. And just they created this sort of division that people think I created. It's like, no, it's like people just, some people decided they wanted to, instead of smoking both, for whatever reason, they decided they wanted to smoke solventless.

BubblemanAnd that's really the energy behind rosin and how it blew up and, you know, John's death video and like it's, it all, and I'm not saying there's any death of VHO happening. I'm just giving, I'm literally saying that the credit for the solventless movement today is built on people who were very much into BHO, certainly not built on me or anything that I was doing, and decided to stop smoking BHO and start promoting, you know, the solventless the way they promoted their BHO.

BubblemanSo it's just an interesting thing that I noticed. Yeah, most definitely.

SpeakerHonestly, I think it's all growing in popularity. I don't think that, you know, we may perceive these little waves in the ocean, but I think the ocean is just swelling. You know, from my perspective, you know, visited BPG Harborside the other day with the drunkards, and, um, You know, the amount of everything that's available is growing, you know, from bubble man, you know, water hash to, you know, incredible, incredible, incredible butane extractions.

SpeakerAnd also, you know, now there's a consciousness for dry sieves and people are actually looking at that and, you know, you're starting to see all these elements in the marketplace and I think it's fantastic.

BubblemanOh yeah, there's just no doubt about it that BHO was the big super popular one that was the most popular. Like if you looked at hashtags, if you looked at how many dispensaries sell it, it's like there's no doubt about it that it was the king of popularity.

SpeakerIt's still, in all truth, it's still going to be because... Absolutely, and I never said it wasn't, but what I am saying is...

BubblemanIt's huge still. It was the people who jumped out of that group that really popularized this solventless movement. That's all I was saying. It's still definitely, most of the dispensaries still don't have the six star of water hash or the super primo dry sift, 99.9%. And thank God for rosin being as accessible as it is to the majority of people. The dispensaries do actually are starting to have that option.

BubblemanYou yourself have your own brand. Do you not, Soil Grown? Oh yeah, most definitely. Awesome. And where can people pick that shit up?

SpeakerMostly in the SoCal area. There's a handful of dispensaries. I haven't really put too much out there yet. Definitely going to be a lot this year.

BubblemanCool. We'll look forward to seeing the waves that you create. Regardless of how we perceive them, it's still fun to see them happen.

SpeakerYou guys think that, you know, what I think is really exciting is a lot of accessible mid-grade clean oil is opening up to the masses because like I don't have one handy because I don't really hit them, but those pens, Oh yeah.

MrI think another aspect that's led to the popularity you have to remember is that I'm on the East Coast where there is no legal states with closed loop extraction. And so if you're in a place where you can't get good, high quality extracts that are lab tested, I mean this gives people an option of how to make a dabbable product for themselves. Thank you so much for joining us.

MrI usually take the criteria on whether or not I buy a bag, right?

SpeakerThat's so funny, dude.

BubblemanI mentioned a while back that dispensaries and stuff could be using this simple method to test a tiny little bud. Just weigh it, squeeze it, weigh what you get. You got a basic idea. You see what kind of oil comes off of it. You can taste it. I mean, it's a pretty, pretty incredible thing.

MrYeah, you can squeeze that oil, run an HPLC, and you can determine what kind of genetics that oil is delivering. Regardless of whatever is being said, the data doesn't lie. This is what the data is.

SpeakerI'll tell you right now, if I got a pound and I squeezed off some of those bud chips like Bubble Man did in Jamaica, I wouldn't pick it up. That's the test press right there.

BubblemanYou're muted, Mark. Yeah, I know. I was just like, oh, I'm muted. I was just saying the Jamaican stuff. Once we started getting this light, golden, unbelievably tasty sun-grown resin, you yourself, who's made a lot of rosin, would notice right away. It's different. Not like what you're pressing at home. And once you get something nice and then start seeing more and more things, we just happen, I swear those first five guys all had weed from the same grower or something.

BubblemanThey were probably a crew of guys that all rolled up and were like, yeah, check this shit out. We got this going on. So it's interesting. It's definitely a good way to test bud.

SpeakerGreat way to test cash. So what were you seeing more of, uh, uh, That was pressing great out there. Was it a lot of sun grown? A lot of it was sun grown?

BubblemanIn Jamaica? Almost everything in Jamaica was sun grown, but some was indoor. But the indoor Jamaican sells for like $10 US a gram straight up, no matter how much you buy. Rockstar and wealthy people weed. Not pressing too much of that shit.

SamIf you press a CBD variety that basically has really large amounts of CBD but nothing else, what do you get? Do you get rosin?

SpeakerWell, yeah, you definitely get rosin. I mean, it's really going to come down to the strain. I've pressed some CBD strains, but I haven't had them tested to see, like, how well everything carries over and what the percentages are that carry over. But a lot of times, they don't put much out. Those are your, you know, when you're getting CBD oil, it's a very expensive oil because you don't really get much.

MrYes, Sam. Sam, the answer is yes.

MrI've made rosin from high CBD as well as CBD THC that are pretty close to 1 to 1.

SamAnd it looks like regular rosin.

MrNo, actually it's funny you ask that. It's a lot more gooey. It's not as, like sometimes with rosin with high THC or high THCA rosin like this ash plant rosin, After it would cool down to room temperature, it would actually harden and almost become like a glassy solid. When I say glassy, it would fracture like a glassy solid. What that is is crystalline THCA. It's already starting to form a crystalline solid.

MrYou know, you are applying some heat, so you're certainly changing the terps for a very small period of time, and you're heating it, and you're heating it under pressure. So you are changing the content somewhat, but I would think that, again, what you're seeing mostly is just THCA if it's a glassy, crystalline kind of material, because that's what the HPLC is showing anyway.

SamI think you're probably right.

MrYeah, Sam, you know what we see for like a one-to-one THC CBD line? We would see it would be a lot more gooey. It wouldn't be, like even if we let it cool down, it would never cool to a solid. It's a lot more gooey. And I think that makes sense because, again, there's enough material in there to keep the, Thank you for joining us today.

MrThis is a, I think it's about a 1.1 or about 1.2 to 1 CBD THC. And you can see it's kind of like a gooey, gooey, I don't know what you'd describe it as, just a gummy kind of oil-like material. This is a rosin.

SamDo you like CBD, Mark?

MrNo, not, not, not, this is all for, all for medicine.

SamOkay, no, I understand. More power to you.

MrYeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Trying to cure cancer.

MrAnd keep the lights on.

MrI guess.

SpeakerThis is funny.

SpeakerLooks like Jamaica.

SpeakerOh, nice. Yeah, whenever I press out CBD, it's, I call it that, solventless sap.

MrRight. It's really gooey, right, Phil? It's sappy. Yep.

SpeakerIf it's a nice warm day out, there's no getting it off the paper sappy.

MrWith high THC varieties, do you ever find it that you see it after it cools down, it becomes like a glassy crystalline solid? Have you seen that where you could actually chip it and it actually behaves like a crystalline material? Where it's almost like a shatter? Yeah.

SpeakerOh yeah. Oh yeah. Most definitely. This one diesel that I did was, it was like 95 degrees out and it was still shattering.

MrWow.

SpeakerLet me plug in the computer before it dies. Got it.

SpeakerWe plugged in.

BubblemanIt's been pretty chill today. Relaxing. Relaxing.

SpeakerHitting many bowls and... Hey Mark, how much can you tell us about some of this stuff that you have? Like the... The... You haven't even seen these yet, have you? Oh yeah. Well, I mean, you've seen them, but... Oh my gosh, they smell great. They're really great.

BubblemanYou got cheese on there? Or Covello? What was that? Covello? Covello? I got Ja Goo. Ja Goo, that one's a new one.

SpeakerTurp Melt, and then I got Goo Turp Melt, and then I got, I thought I lost the sticker one, that one too, you know, I got that one.

BubblemanDamn, I bet you that's a cheese bomb.

SpeakerSuper delicious on the cheese bomb if it is. I like it. I think your logo should be a little bigger though.

BubblemanYeah, those stickers were a mistake actually. They were printed too small.

SpeakerOkay. Alright, well then, there you go.

BubblemanBut it's really just a metaphor for the humility of the brand. It's all about the hash, not the logo, or the...

SpeakerI thought you were just making me squint. Yeah, no doubt. It really does. Oh yeah, I got up to go get my damn rig, and then I got something to drink, and I fucking talked it, and... Your bubble, your dab rig? Yeah, look at all these goodies... Well, good are they if I don't actually use them, but they are pretty and they smell good, other than that.

BubblemanWell, you got to use them better than that.

BubblemanGot to do a little bit more.

BubblemanWhat's the next event for you, Soil Grown? You going to go do San Bernardino?

SpeakerNo, actually, we're going to the HipCon. We'll be at HipCon this weekend in San Francisco. Right on. Me and Sasquash, we're going to have a booth up there. We'll be pressing buds, so anybody that brings buds by, we'll be squashing out whatever, hash, and giving the whole rundown on the rosin tech and the squash.

BubblemanBeautiful. Well, I'm sure a lot of people will come down and check you guys out. I always just used to give bong rips away at my booth at the Cups in the 90s and the 2000s, and... When I started doing the rosin, we really just sort of did it for the first time that year in Barcelona, and then it just became like in Jamaica we had a big press.

BubblemanIt's like, of course we're going to press people's nugs or make hash. Very few people have a kilo to be like, yeah, make some bubble hash for me, man. But everyone has a bud. Literally everyone has a bud in Jamaica. So get it squashed, yeah. Yeah. You guys should definitely go to the Cup in Jamaica next year. It's... It's a good event.

SpeakerOh yeah, Jamaica would be fun. We're definitely, we're going to be traveling a lot this year.

BubblemanExcellent. Well, I'm sure I'll see you.

SpeakerYeah, you going to San Bernardino or what?

BubblemanI'm still trying to get into the U.S., so I'm working on that. It could take me another six plus months before my waiver comes in, but in the meantime, I go to every other country.

SpeakerSo I'll end up in Jamaica, I'll end up in Barcelona, Amsterdam, maybe like Chile.

BubblemanOkay. See what happens. There's lots of places. Mexico, Brazil. These are a couple new places coming up. We've been talking about coming out to Canada.

SpeakerDude, come on up, man. So, you know, definitely hit you up when we come out that way. That'd be awesome. Absolutely, yeah.

BubblemanWe will link. We will have a session on my deck and laugh about the good times.

BubblemanVery good, very good. When are you heading up, D?

SpeakerTuesday. Tuesday. Tuesday I'll be there. Joey's on Wednesday.

BubblemanAlways good to get your favorite food when you come back into town. Oh yes.

SpeakerWay to do it. Isn't there an event going on in Canada right now?

BubblemanWe've got a couple events coming up. We've got There's one in the center of Canada, well, closer to the center. It's more east coast, I guess, Toronto. It's the Lyft Conference. It's sort of dispensaries, licensed producers, processors, tons of different people involved in the industry will go to that event and link up and see if they can't do good business. And then there's another one in July 9th and 10th.

BubblemanI don't know the actual name for that one. I should probably figure it out. Because it wouldn't be good if I didn't figure it out. But yeah, this woman, Salome, is doing one here in Vancouver. I think it's at, I've got to figure out the address. I've got to figure out the name of it too. It's terrible to be live and not know the name of the thing because I'm speaking at it as well.

BubblemanOh, it's called the Hemp and Cannabis Conference.

SpeakerNice. We'll have one of our presses out there in Vancouver.

BubblemanYeah, awesome. Well, yeah, if a press is coming to Vancouver, it better be coming to my house.

SpeakerIt'll be at the 420 Fest in Vancouver.

BubblemanOh, you guys are going to be up here for 420 or just send someone?

SpeakerSomebody bought one and they're going to already be there setting it up. Okay, well, I'll go check it out.

BubblemanI'll go check it out for sure because I'm not sure if I'm going to do a booth myself. I think I'm just going to walk around that day. I was going to do a booth with Tony, but it got cancelled. It's not coming up for 420 anymore, so I think I might just walk around and not be all busy and insane in the madness. Maybe get some drone footage if I can of the crowd.

SpeakerWhere would we purchase one of your presses from, Soil Grown? You've got to go to supporttheroots.com. Or type in SasquashRosinPress.com, it'll take you there.

BubblemanBeautiful.

SpeakerYou know, or direct message us on Instagram, SasquashRosinPress or Soil Grown. You'll get a hold of one of us there if there's any confusion, but the website's pretty detailed. What's the prices on them? They're $22.95 plus tax. Okay.

SpeakerAnd shipping. You can always, you know, come here and pick them up if you want. Thanks for letting me in there, man. I'm a terrorist in their eyes, I think. Yeah. Yeah, I'm not even sure if I'm allowed in Canada, so I'll have to figure it out. I hope you guys do come to Vancouver. It'd be really good to sit with you guys and get just fucking peeled.

SpeakerJust get turnt out. Sweetness. Oh, yeah. Yeah, it should be pretty easy to find the press, man. Yeah, slash squash.com. I'm looking out here and support the roots. Yeah. Yeah, support the roots. Nice. Sweet.

BubblemanHey, welcome, Tony.

TonyHey, everyone today, everyone on the panel. So, Grown, what's up?

SpeakerWhat's up, Tony?

TonyNot much. I finally got some sleep. I guess I overslept.

BubblemanSometimes you need to get some sleep, man.

TonyYeah, my body was tired. But I'm going to wake up with a half gram dab, so I think it should be pretty good.

SpeakerThat's not bad. Enjoying you.

SamWhat are you doing again? Ball rip.

SpeakerRip it. Rip, rip, double dip.

BubblemanA half gram rip. We're going to have a revamp of drooling from last week's past church. Did you get your rig, Todd?

TonyWell, the drooling had to do with a triple dip. Triple dip bong rip. This one is just straight rosin. Someone gave me last night.

BubblemanBut it's a half gram.

SpeakerOh yeah. I've got your camera.

TonyIt's the morning exercise for your lungs, you know? You've got to get charged for the day. It's like multivitamins for your lungs. Absolutely.

SpeakerMultivitamins.

TonySo, yeah, somebody gave me some hash last night called YouTube.

TonyNever heard of YouTube?

SpeakerYeah.

TonyNever heard of it.

SpeakerNot YouTube ad.

TonyI think we're on it right now. I never heard of it either, but these cats were telling me it was called YouTube, YouTube Kush or YouTube something. And I was like, you got monoterps in there? And they were like, what do you mean? They're too young to know what YouTube was.

BubblemanThey thought you said monoterps.

TonyYeah. Yeah. I said Bono, Bono.

BubblemanWe cure all the Monos, bro. We cure the Monos out.

TonyIt's pretty good, though. It's okay. It's like a subtle push or a subtle OG or something.

BubblemanWell, you just did 15 rips of it in the last minute, so you should have a good idea of how good it is based on that.

TonyReally strong, though.

TonySo, cliff notes, what did I miss? Like, just give me two, three sentences. What happened on Hash Church?

BubblemanUh... Yeah, we smoked some hash. We talked about rosin.

SamBubble Man's connection went out a couple times and we all, everybody else took over the church. Yeah, I froze.

SpeakerWho's that little doll? What is that little thing there?

BubblemanThat's Sam I Am. That's Sam I Am.

TonyI just saw a little doll talking from like projection talking. Like what is that? It's like not even a puppet. The mouth doesn't even move. It's just like. Well, take a bigger hit and you'll see the lips move.

BubblemanThe lips do move after about a gram and a half of hash. I'm not going to lie. Yep.

TonyDid you have my friend Dani on? She was talking about it.

BubblemanYeah, she came on and shared a little bit and she was super gung-ho and told us what it's like to be Steve's personal assistant and shared a little bit about Harborside and we just had discussions in general. You know, I talked about the how do we, you know,

BubblemanAccess the good money, the good investors, you know, without, because so many people are just really like afraid of this, and me included, of people just coming in and buying this industry out. And you see it in Jamaica, the Jamaican, local Jamaican farmers are afraid. And there's always like a fear here in Canada. We're worried that the LPs are going to be the only ones given licenses.

BubblemanAnd even though we know that's not going to be the case because it's our federal right and the charter was breached and Our great lawyers did a great job of winning our injunction for us, and the federal government's not appealing our injunction, so we know we're going to be able to grow, but what kind of plant limitations are they going to try to hit us with? They're definitely going to do some sort of fuckery.

BubblemanThey have to. It always happens. I'd be very surprised if they didn't.

SpeakerWill that fall onto the new licenses, or are the grandfathered licenses going to be able to stay as is?

BubblemanI don't think there's anything grandfathered. Because that would also be a breach of anyone's charter that certain people would be allowed to have something that other Canadian citizens wouldn't be makes no sense. They have to make it available to all Canadians.

SpeakerI'm just looking at it like families that have been passed down submachine guns or certain types of weapons that are banned now are still allowed to go down and stay in the family because of the generative grandfathering cause. We're always kind of looking at that. Claws in the law, if we're grandfathered, do we get to keep them or not, right?

BubblemanYeah, I guess if we were grandfathered. I can't imagine it happening that way, but I guess we'll see in August when we find out what the MMA R2 is going to look like.

TonyWell, I tell everyone, I go, just anyone that asks me if I'm on the plane or talking to anyone, there's always people I meet that are super charged up Thank you so much for joining us.

TonyThey get it passed a certain way. You have the opposing old school train of thought people that are opposing it. And it's going to take a while to get those people out of the systems. They have to die. It needs to be another 40 years, 30 years for all those people and all that just to die and go away. It's like how racism was something that was like, Hardcore on our country for so long and it was just like get out of it.

TonyIt was just like still in the 60s and it's taken 40 years where people are just like get over it. You know like no one gives a shit about racism and they shouldn't and so the same thing is going to happen here. We're in these little experiments and what I notice is you know you've got different Different bodies that can, or different people that can push different weird laws.

TonyAnd every three months, whether it's Oregon, Washington, Colorado, there's some new little curveball to deal with. There's no unified countrywide, federal-wide rules or standards of how to do certain things in business. You know, you got to sit back and see what the fuck's going to happen, but I tend to always agree with, like, when Todd's main point is it's you're pushing forward. The idea is to end fucking prohibition.

TonyPush forward. So take what you can in each little battle, a whole bunch of battles, and you know the movement's going forward. So, you know, I don't know, man, like... Oregon and Washington, look at how those experiments have gone. There are certain things that get passed or different rules that get passed that just throws the system on its side, and then it just doesn't do what it's supposed to do.

BubblemanWell, that is the advantage of our system being federal, even though I'm sure now the provinces, you know, It'll be interesting because I don't know how the provinces are going to mandate dispensaries. I know they're definitely down with taking the $30,000 fee, but there's no real ability to protect them from the federal government. Our provincial mechanisms aren't in place the way your state mechanisms are, but our federal program is in place the way your federal program isn't.

BubblemanIt's totally bizarre.

TonyIt's completely bizarre.

TonyYou know, it was just like we were in Oregon and we were talking, we got through approval process of what we were doing there, and we tried to present just a simple roll-on, you know, just a roll-on for arthritis and pain relief and neck pains and something that was easy to get to patients. And, you know, Oregon put a hench on all kinds of different extracts, but then they were like, yeah, well, everything has to be childproof in a certain way.

TonySo now we're going through that step where I'm like, what do you mean? Like, we can't put that inside a container that's childproof? And they're like, no, everything about the actual product has to be childproof. So to get childproof caps that go onto roll-ons that I make, that pretty much defeats the purpose because of the fact that 70% of them have arthritis. We have medical conditions in which they can't open something like that.

TonyThey can't squeeze and open it. That's what baffles me. They don't look at it as medical patients. What can we do for medical, they look at it like, how are you bending me because it's cannabis? It's like they're just not connected.

BubblemanDude, is he done packing boxes? Because you would not believe how loud that is in the background, every little bang that he does.

TonyIt was just like bang, bang, bang, bang, bang. What was interesting about that, it was one Whole Foods bag that was opened up and two items were placed inside it.

BubblemanCome on. People will have to re-watch that. It was like 15 minutes straight of banging.

TonyYeah, I apologize for that.

BubblemanI was trying to look to whose mic to mute and I was like, it has to be coming from his.

BubblemanWe never got Chimera in here today. I wonder if he tried to come in when we were full. I definitely sent him the link through Skype.

BubblemanWe still got close to a thousand people watching after three hours of hash-churching on a beautiful Sunday.

TonyI did go and see Todd the other day. He had me up to his house. Yes. That was a good time, my man. Yeah.

SpeakerDude, I'm still high, honestly. It was a lot of fun. Thank you for visiting. You know, the Junkers had a blast. It was really fun to sit around and go through things and You know, it's so interesting to, you know, to see the evolution of knowledge and how we're trying to understand, you know, what's around us better. I mean, I feel so infantile sometimes in our really grasp of cannabis.

SpeakerDoes that make sense?

SpeakerMaybe it's just because we're getting there stoned.

TonyYeah, if you look back in history, especially that night, what the Gronkers family has done to preserve cannabis. History and artifacts in architecture give us something, it's like a gift to remind us of that evolution. I remember walking through that in Spain with a fellow man, and you just see like cannabis potions. You see this early century and how it was perceived and where it went and then it disappeared and now it's back and then it's getting like It's like the information boom, like how the internet exploded.

TonyThere's a lot going on right now, you know? Yeah.

SpeakerIt's really fun touring around with them, considering their history, you know, and that they grew up. And I was asking them about when they started, you know, light-depping greenhouses, and they looked at me kind of funny. They were like, always, what are you talking about? We used to pull the tarps over when we were little boys for our dad, you know, and this is, You know, early 80s, you know, Ben was doing it in the 70s, you know.

SpeakerSam, when did Light Depth start in Amsterdam when you were there?

SamI think Ben might have did it in 80... Three or even 84, I'm not sure. At least on some sort of level, whether it was an automated system or manual, I'm not sure. I think it was automated, because it was probably a chrysanthemum greenhouse.

SpeakerThe ones they were telling me were manual, and they were talking to me about having humidity problems and dumping water on the plants.

SamThe first time I did it, I think, was 86, and yeah.

SamIt was quite literally a changer of history.

SpeakerGame changer. And you know, and it's old, and this is just old hat to them, and to us, you know, it's, you know, light death is becoming the whole light death movement. It's kind of funny. In some ways, it's Here you have the waves, Mark, you know, washing around, you know what I mean? Because what is old knowledge to them is new knowledge to NorCal, you know?

BubblemanWell, I think the chrysanthemum flowers were using this technology pre-anyone using it with cannabis even. Weren't they using it in greenhouses in Holland, Sam?

SamAbsolutely, they were. I think in the 70s, but for sure in the 80s.

BubblemanYeah, that's what I figured. That's where we get most of our good ideas and such from, from these different agricultural products there are.

SamThey were using it in the little short Venlo greenhouses, which are not very tall, but they could be automated. I saw one that had been automated, gee whiz, 20 years ago. It was one of the first ones in Holland, and it was darkened 30 years before that.

SamThat's like 1960 maybe.

BubblemanInteresting.

BubblemanEveryone's freshly medicated.

TonyEtienne was at that little get-together as well.

BubblemanThe other night?

Etienne FontanYes, I was. Got some stuff still almost gone. Need to get some. But yeah, it was definitely fun and, you know, it's been I've got to meet the other two. I've met some of the other drunkers and the senior Ben and been to the castle and of course seen the history that they've changed not only in just, you know, the flowers but in hemp. I mean, what they have done in Europe and to push the industry and, you know, from using the hemp for animal bedding and, you know, now that his stuff is, his hemp products are actually in, you know, a lot of the high-end cars they're in.

Etienne FontanEurope now, so its influence hits us on so many different levels of what the Sensi family has done over the last 30 plus years of really trying to not only just push the recreational side of this flower and the freedom side of this flower, but the industrial aspect as well. And Ben himself has worked on many other aspects to free people and work on changing laws as well, so it's...

Etienne FontanIt's kind of been a beacon of light for many of us to see that, you know, you can walk the walk and talk the talk, or you can actually put your money where your mouth is. And Ben and the Dronkers family, I have to give them much props for always definitely making it out there and making sure cannabis is out there for everyone in all aspects.

BubblemanTrue.

Etienne FontanAnd thank you, Tony, as well. It was fun tasting all the turps and the flavors and great stuff.

TonySo what'd you think about that? I think you tried the Red Congo, the Long Valley, the Purple Punch, and the Cushman.

Etienne FontanWell, last year you had come by. We did one of those sessions, and we got to try the modulation. So it was definitely different types of modulating, the different things that we were trying, as well as from the different drops, how much the drop was from the terpene mix to the straight terpenes themselves. So... It was just very elevated, upper cerebral, very clear thinking. Came home, went to sleep, no problem at all.

Etienne FontanIt's fascinating the science to watch because I always, as a foodie, I enjoy deconstructed food and then putting it back together, et cetera. So it's interesting the applications now happening with cannabis and to see diversity, then diversity of flavor, then Constant diversities of flavors depending on dips, flavors, mixes, dry sift, you know, static, you know, hash, etc. So it was fascinating to see the nuances, the different nuances.

TonyThe most significant thing in that progression of how it's being presented, or as you said, deconstructed, is the... This is what I call the flavor zone, how much smaller it gets, like from when, if you ever played tennis, you always start with a big sweet spot, and like it's a big racket, and as you become a pro, that racket becomes more fine-tuned and has such a really small sweet spot.

TonyAnd so that's the same thing with going from an extract of pure terpenes. When you have full melt and you press it out, there's literally a sweet spot when you're burning your quartz nail or something and you're waiting and you're timing it out, 41, 42, 43. You're looking for that sweet spot if you're a hash to melt. So terpenes have a very, very different sweet spot in the fact that anything past 451 degrees, ignition, combustion, it changes the taste and flavor drastically.

Etienne FontanThat was interesting to experience. When I got hit with that steam one, it was totally different than the actual one that was brought back down to that 420 temperature that could totally tell the difference. And that was interesting to experience because I've heard talk about it, but then to actually experience How much of the flavor was lost in that just difference of 100 degrees temperatures lower or plus I guess at the time.

Etienne FontanAnd also the feeling, the wash of the anandamide across the frontal lobe as well as how it came across the palate starting either at the front of the palate working its way back or backwards forward or as I stated also when the cotton mouth had started to come from the back forward there when we were at the straight charpenes.

TonyThat's a pretty good description. That's so funny. Yeah, no, so we did that, Bubble Man. The nail was really hot. It was like 550, and I thought it had cooled down because Todd has this like quartz. He's got a quartz with a flat nail like yours, and I think I'm convinced that I like the quartz much better than the silicone carbide. Well, and the way Todd does it, he...

TonyHe has a little torch that he does keep, and he cleans the quartz in between, like, say, five or ten dabs. So the quartz is always, like, perfectly cleaned, you know?

SpeakerIt's a good way to keep it. But we all like low-temp dabs. I think we're all trying to, you know, savor the flavor. But it leaves all that, you know, wax and goo behind that we don't flash off, we don't inhale. Which I think is even, you know, is what it is. I'd be interested to see what that stuff tests at.

SamAlso, I keep waiting for somebody to come out with a design. I tell everybody I can, which is start the temperature low, and the second as you draw air on it, it raises the temperature up for the next 10 seconds until it finishes off the cannabinoids.

TonyLike how you puff a joint.

SamYeah, exactly. You got it.

SamSo the temperature starts low for taste and ends up high so you can finish off all the cannabinoids.

BubblemanI was literally talking to the guy from Vapex Hail just the other day, that very same thing. I was saying, yeah, like if you're designing a newer version, see if you can't like, and I haven't even used this unit yet. This was just Basically, from talking to you, Sam, like getting a denail that takes a rip at a lower temperature and then heats up to ensure, because there's no denying that like the head ringer that you get from taking a higher temp dab is different from the tasty rip that you get from a low temp dab, and it would be nice to combine those two for the best of both worlds dab.

TonyYeah, so that's also why I like that little dial on that one Because you can start low. And turn it up. Yeah, you can put the rod in and you can turn it up and it's pretty sensitive. It's awesome. You have to experiment with it. It's a very interesting thing.

BubblemanYeah, I'll have to have like a Google chat puff session with you so you can show me all your little tricks and tips before I do my review on it because... It's nice to use a product for a while. Before you just go and tell people about it, it's a product you don't even know. You need to try that product and go out in the world and see what pisses you off about it or what you love about it and then be able to accurately share that with people.

BubblemanWhat's up, pup?

TonyOh yeah, this is her day.

BubblemanThis is Hash Church, baby.

TonyYeah, she waits all Sunday for her day. He's like, yeah, I've made it all week. This is my day to be with you. I'm going to be with you. If you're on hashtags, I'll be with you.

SpeakerYou don't have the squirts today?

TonyNo, she's doing pretty good. I got her back to this raw food that's in the freezer. It's all just natural ingredients. It's just freeze-dried kind of. We're like still frozen. I don't even know the state. It's kind of like a mochi ball.

TonyRaw food, mochi.

TonyThat's her favorite, and I realized that that's what I got to stick with. It's just hard to do that when you travel, to have fresh mochi balls wherever you go.

BubblemanHey, that's the life of a raw food.

SpeakerYeah.

SpeakerWell, maybe one day.

TonyI'll just have somebody follow you around.

SpeakerBomb wrap? You'll break this up with a bomb wrap? There was a pause there for too long, so let's get higher.

TonyWhat are we all smoking on? I'm taking the last rip of this. This is some, well, this is some Terpsift. Kind of a new thing, but what are you all smoking on?

Etienne FontanHere's that rosin we pressed while we were on Hash Church.

SpeakerWhat was it? Very nice soil ground.

Speaker2.16 or something, we got like a 19.6% return.

BubblemanOh yeah, I bet you if I hit that with my macro lens, you would definitely be cleaning that up through a screen from now on.

SpeakerOh, I didn't hand clean this one, we just cleaned it up.

BubblemanI even shoot super cleaned, like cleaned rosin that people have run through a screen afterwards and I photographed it and I'm like... They opened it too many times and it's just like a magnet for hairs and dust and that type of shit. It's crazy how...

SpeakerI've seen your macros. It'll show any flaw.

BubblemanDude, it's hard to shoot rosin, let me tell you. Because it's always dirty looking? Well, it's just there's always a fucking hair or fiber or some shit that if you opened it once, I swear when you open it, it's like just sucking air and hair and dust.

TonyI got an idea. I got a really cool idea. What if you started a magazine, Bubble Man? That's exactly like how Playboy does their magazines. Instead of girls, we just have different types of shots of extracts. So you're dirty flower rosin. You're just dirty, bro. And then you're just like, damn, that's some dirty rosin.

SpeakerBottom ones or just top ones?

TonyBottom ones.

BubblemanFor all the ass men out there.

TonyYeah, for all the ass men.

SamWe could have a magazine that was just built on photography. Okay, but I want the measurements, you know, like how much terpenes, how much cannabinoids, you know. I want their 24, 36, 24, or 36, 24, 36. I want their measurements.

TonySo what are you smoking on there, Soil Grown? What was that?

SpeakerWhat was that, Diamond?

TonySome Diamond OG. What's the Diamond OG?

SpeakerI'm not sure we got it from our buddy, So Dink, and it's pretty tasty, extremely tasty OG, and heavy-yielded, that's for sure. We got good color. We pressed out some Gorilla Glue this morning, too, some Gorilla Glue, and there's some Wifi. We've been smoking on a whole smorgasbord of flavors right now.

BubblemanSmorgasbord is good. It's always nice when you have options, more so than less, that's for sure.

MrThe Gorilla Glue is a high-yielder, right?

SpeakerOh yeah. It oozes.

MrIt oozes, right?

SpeakerYeah. And without a doubt, it's a 20 plus. One of my favorites for sure. It's very clear too. Yeah, always a really great color, but I notice it's usually more of your solventless sap, you know. You let it sit for a few days, it stabilizes slightly. You play with temps a little bit, but overall it seems to be in that category for me rather than what I like to call your solventless shatter.

SpeakerWhich will be something that's super stable. You know, you can hold it, snap it.

MrWhat strains don't yield?

SpeakerWell, it really comes down to the grower, but besides that, some, you know, Real good growers and you're getting the right stuff depending on who, I mean, you know what you're getting. Strain, strain wise, kanjis don't really pull that great for me. Cookies majority of the time.

SpeakerWhat does yield? I mean, a lot of stuff yields usually. If you're getting the right stuff, it's more of like finding the right stuff and knowing what strains. I like to play with OGs and... Like right now I've been playing with this black water OG, and I think that's like Cali Connection. I'm not sure on the cross. I think it's like Mendo Purps and Purple Kush, but it definitely dumps.

SpeakerSuper tasty, very unique turps.

SpeakerI pressed out some black lime that just pulled out like 9%. CBD.

SpeakerMost CBD stuff, very little, very little returns.

TonySo where do you think that is on the CBD? I also noticed that.

SpeakerHmm. I don't know. I really don't. I don't know if it's maybe just, you know, the genetics of plants that carry, that have CBD, maybe they don't produce as much Oil-filled heads, you know, or maybe there's not as much oil in the heads or just not as much resin on the plant.

SamFor drug varieties, man has selected more resin. For CBD varieties, which are not really drug varieties, they have not selected for resin. So, of course, there's going to be less with CBD varieties, but modern CBD varieties have a lot of fucking resin. And really high CBD levels.

SpeakerYes, I don't know, I don't really understand why, because I press some CBD strains out that are covered in, just covered in frost.

SamI had real trouble with CBD varieties that were basically about 10% CBD with really no THC or very little. And when I tried to dry sit it, I had a hell of a time.

SpeakerOkay. Yeah, I don't know. As for the rosin, it's not very forgiving. It's not very rewarding either. I mean, you don't get much. But it's definitely worth having. It's some really good rosin, that's for sure.

SamYeah, and for people who get a benefit with CBD, it must be amazing.

SpeakerYeah. Yeah, I'd imagine so, most definitely. I mean, there's definitely a noticeable difference from the bosses.

TonyYeah, that, um, just the, uh, two-to-one CBD solvents thing that Bubbleman and I did with the Emerald Cup, um, that took, like, dude, so much flour, like, It took like pounds of flowers to get a two to one like solventless CBD tap. It's like, I feel like it took forever and I kept like, I kept running it through smaller filters and like 10 microns and things like that.

TonyBut it was, I tried to get it to like a, it was like couldn't stay on paper. You could pour it on paper and just lose it everywhere. And so I remember that taking so much though. And to hit the two to one was really cool because I'd never really done it and I knew it would take a lot. But it's definitely not a yielding process at all, which sucks for CBD.

TonyI just thought, I want to hear what you thought about it too. I think that you could turn the temperature up a little bit and maybe the pressure, but it doesn't seem like there's just that much in the plant, in that process.

SpeakerNo, I definitely have to agree with that considering how many times I've played with it and got to actually squish some CBD. It just seems to be overall what I find with it. It's just not a yielder.

BubblemanWell, they can't all be yielders, I suppose. Yeah.

BubblemanOr maybe they can. If that's what we focus on.

SpeakerYou've got to choose wisely.

BubblemanOh, we've got Chimera in the chat room. He's not coming on the panel today, but he's chilling in the chat room for a bit. Welcome, Chimera.

BubblemanYes, indeed, Robert. We will see you next week. See you.

SpeakerI got to go, guys. Everybody have a great Sunday. Good seeing you.

BubblemanYeah, dude. Enjoy your Sunday, man.

SpeakerThanks, brother.

BubblemanWe'll see you soon.

SpeakerHave a good one, D. We will see you soon.

BubblemanWell, it's a nice chill day. I might call it a day myself after three hours of hanging with the panelists. I think it might be a nice release for everyone to go and be able to enjoy their Sunday. So I thank you for coming in, Soil Grown and Sasquatch team.

SpeakerYeah. Thank you, man. Nice being here.

BubblemanYeah, don't be a stranger on Hash Church and obviously thanks to all the regulars at ATN, Sam, Mark Scaldone, Todd McCormick, Tony Verzura, Johnny B and D420K who've already left and anyone else that I'm forgetting. Thanks for hanging out with us guys and go enjoy your Sunday. Have a great day and we'll see you next week. Peace.

SpeakerPeace.
